He is a little redundant, but a good teacher. Can be rude at times, but he does make you learn.
Taking attendance for this class was pointless, but I did good, so I can't complain.
He is sooo loud and insulting to your intelligence. His teaching style was redundant and made me feel like a first-grader all over again. But the tests were easy, and I got a really high grade without really trying.
If you aren't good at math, you'll hate this class because he calls on EVERYONE and makes you feel so dumb if you don't know the answer.
sucks. Embarrasses people in class
He talks down to you like you are a 2-year-old. But show up everyday and do the assignments(he calls on everyone) and you will do well. He gives you points for coming to class and lets those points take away a test score. It can really bump up your grade or lower you grade. So show up.
Great teacher, yes he was a little rude sometimes when he called on you, but that helped you to learn.
He talks 1,000 words a minute and it is very difficult to follow his lecture.
Bad teacher all around, makes you feel like a dumbass if you know the answer to a question. He talks way to fast for you to take notes and listen to him. His class rules are that of grade school and he calls on everybody in the class everyday. If you are even ok at math dont take his math 120 class!
he's okay
Rude, smarmy, technophobic (refuses to use e-mail or online content), and condescending. Grades on attendance. Assigns homework, but doesn't collect it. Assigns seats. Goes down the attendance list and asks questions. His TA takes questions and gives tests and quizzes.
This teacher is horrible!! Goes over stuff in too much detail and calls on every one in the class to answer questions. Rips you apart if you don't know the answer. And to make matters worse he can't hear! Fractions, Hate Them, get rid of them, How to???
not a bad teacher, just everything is so redundant. He goes through the list of students and asks them questions. Its not hard at all...he repeats questions...attendance can help your grade..you can replace a test grade w/attendance grade. The class is so easy! Go to class and you'll get an A.
one of the rudest teachers ive ever had, very condesending, talks down to you, if you make a mistake when called on, instead of letting you correct yourself, jumps down your throat, and belittles you in front of the entire class,
This man is a complete idiot. I cannot wait until teacher evaluation time rolls around because I'm gonna tear him apart just like he does to the people who don't answer questions correctly. I feel like I'm back in grade school this math is so easy. If it were higher math I would hate him even more.
The class is boring and middle school math. He knows what he is doing, but i dont' like his teaching style. The questions he asks are easy and yet people still get them wrong... His tests and quizes are pretty easy but have 1 or 2 trick questions. If you can stand him, not too horrible.
he really likes making you feel like a complete idiot in front of the class, but he makes everyone feel like an idiot so your not alone. probably the worst professor i have ever had. trust me you dont want this guy.
Complete dick!!! don't get anything wrong in this class because he won't let you correct yourself without him jumping down your throat. The class is super easy but not worth his condescending ways!!
a jerk!

Ted Fuller is crazy but teaches class ina way that leaves you no choice but to understand what he is talking about. His teaching style is very in your face but I actually knew what was going on in his class.
very boring, not nice, grades work and answers unlike other teachers, try to stay away from him
Took attendance every day at 8 am and calls on every person in the lecture hall. I do not suggest taking that class.
One of the rudest, most blunt and offensive teachers ever...That being said, he's the best math teacher I've ever had...(20+ math teachers)His teaching style forces you to understand the material...clearly builds the analytical thought process to solve complex problems...the only reason other students say the class is easy is because he teaches it
The way that he teaches forces you to understand what is going on. He likes to embarass people who don't know the answers to his questions, but does make you learn the material. His tests aren't too bad as long as you go to class.
Definetly the worst teacher I have ever had. Tries to make the class like him but I'm pretty sure everyone hates his guts. He yells constantly and has the most annoying voice I have every heard. He repeats himself over and over and the class is so simple. I would not reccomend taking ANY of his classes.
he looks like colonel sanders and is a ridiculous teacher i was considering majoring in math (therefore i am good at math) and this class was ridiculous! waste of time get a different teacher because the material of finite 120 is easy and he doesn't go by the book...he writes his own tests and it doesn't really have anything to do with the final.
He looks like Colonel Sanders of KFC with his ridiculous white hair & mustache. Not only did I learn nothing in the class he is an ass. He wears socks with sandals and short sleeve collared shirts....he is ridiculous looking!! Its hard to take someone serious if they look like that! If you see fuller as your teacher get out....its a waste of time!!
VERY boring, assigned seats, attendance taken every day, notes written on overheads, handwritten tests and quizes. BLAH. ---ONLY + He uses a lot of the exact same tests and quizes from the previous semester. Find someone who has them and you're GOLDEN!!
He repeats himself all of the time and really over does the steps to get an answer. However, this is great for those individuals that need everything clearly shown to them. Attend class you get an easy attendance grade plus you will not have to study for tests. No surprises with Ted. I would recommend him to everyone.
I thought he did a great job teaching this course. He calls on you every day but that helps you do better. He is very detailed and there are no surprises as far as his tests and quizzes. If you go to class and do your homework you will do fine.
A lot of people won't like Fuller, because he's an ass. However, he knows what he's doing and he teaches slow so even the kids dumb in math get it. You don't really even need to keep up in the homework. The only thing that sucks is lecture is mandatory, and he calls on everybody. It helps you learn the material better though.
He was very sarcastic which made the class funny and enjoyable. It was an easy class if you did the non required assignments he assigns daily. Exams were fairly easy as well. Attendance score drops lowest test score. -3 points for every class missed, starts at 100%
Fuller is a great teacher...He does indeed take attendance everyday, and calls on you everyday, but it really helps you learn the material. He's very thorough and goes really slow in class to make sure everyone understands. If you don't come to class you loose 3 pts. and your attendance drops your lowest test grade!
Just attend class to get an A, he is good teacher what he teaches will stick with you for life, makes sures students understand the material, if you have to take math sequences take him.
Ted teaches the material, but he is very rude. I recieved an A in the class so I'm not just saying this cause I'm mad about my grade. He is a very rude person, although I think he tries to be funny it is not and he is also annoying at times.
he yells the whole class time, while he goes around the room asking each person multiple questions, and will sometimes make you look like an idiot if you get it wrong.
Math is my favorite subject but he made me not like it so much. He explains things in a very confusing way. I have always gotten A's in math classes and i barely got a B in his class. Come to class everyday and your attendance grade replaces your lowest grade. I wouldn't recommend him
If you are not good at math and need to pass, take his class. All concepts are taught so that EVERYONE gets it. If you go to class, you will do well. Yes, he can be abrupt at times, but just let it roll off your shoulder. He asks everyone EASY questions. Take it if you want to learn. Best teacher I've ever had. Well prepared and fair grading.
Two words, "Do Copy"
If you attend class everyday, there is no need to do homework! He takes you step by step through examples of all the problems you will see on tests and quizzes.
i will admit, he is very thorough. but he makes class seem so long and boring it's almost not even worth it. i've gotten 100% on almost all of his tests and quizzes and i barely go to class even though it drops your lowest test score. if you understand math, this will be the simplest class you will ever take. try not to get him if you can though...
he is a terrible teacher
If you attend class and do not pass this class, you're an idoit. You don't even have to do homework to ace his tests and quizzes.
he is a very good teacher and if you go to class he gives you great notes and he even drops the lowest test score in replacement of your attendance score. the only thing is he is very rude and says rude things and make you feel like you are stupid
Ted fuller is quite the character. If you are insecure, do not take his class, because one act of stupidity, and you better be ready to defend yourself. He is straight, and don't you forget that.
rude, rude, RUDE. he's like a good doctor with bad bedside manner. im not the best math student, but i did well in this class because the tests and quizzes were easy. so, if you want to put up with his garbage, take it, but if you are offended easily, gay or nervous answering questions in class, dont take it.
I've never seen anyone stress so much that he is straight....
possibly the biggest smartass ever, much better than other math teachers. just go 2 class nd pay attention to the cycle he goes in, bc he calls on everyone. answer ur question nd ones he passes u, u can do w/e. and the fact that attendance takes the lowest test/quiz is dropped doesnt hurt either, deffinate gpa booster
Lecture: Does a problem on an overhead projector, guides the students through the problems by calling on them one at a time. Has little tolerance for incorrect answers.||| Homework: Not graded, assigned daily based off the lesson in class. ||| Tests: Show work, multi-choice, partial credit (except on final). |||
Rude and in-your-face. Is the Chuck Norris of the ISU Math Department, but thoroughly involves you in the learning process. If you want to go on to higher math courses, I highly recommend this guy! He'll embarrass you from time to time, but you'll live.
Extremely rude, but his tests and quizzes are easy...he's good at explaining everything but he treats you like you're in first grade all over again by telling you exactly what to copy down from the overhead and calling on everyone one at a time to answer questions...take it if you don't mind being embarassed in class..dont take if you're shy!!
After reading the comments, I had to post one myself. If you attend class and listen, easy A. As far as his attitude and comments... If your not a retard, you'll be fine, he was quite entertaining. One girl asked if the final was optional. He responded "No, you want to know why? Because I am a bad ass". I would recommend him for easy A and laughs.
All I can say is "Can Do" "No Can Do"
Very clear on what he teaches, and makes it easy to learn. Be prepared to answer questions in class, and if you get it wrong, you will be corrected by him. You've been warned!!!
Outstanding! Some may find him a bit abrasive but when you look around at the other people in the class you can understand why. He goes around the room with questions which I really felt kept my attention during the class. Do the HW right before tests and quizzes, show up to class, and you've got an easy A. Ted's great!!
This guy was awesome! He may be loud and in your face at times, but if you go to class and do the homework, you will get an easy A. Also, very helpful in prepping you for higher math courses. One of the best teachers so far at ISU
best math teacher ive ever had. he repeats himself a lot, but he makes everyone answer questions so the information stays in your mind. if you go to class everyday and do the homework you'll have no problems
overall ted was a good teacher. Im not the best at calc but he made the class pretty easy as long as you go to class. Tests are not bad at all as long as you show all your work, he will take off an incredible amount of points for not showing every step of the problem. He uses handouts more than anything
This is an extremely easy class. Teds funny, and will go around the whole class asking questions. He repeats himself so much, you'd have to be retarded not to think this class is easy. If you don't understand his material, he will call you out in front of the whole class, and its because you deserve it for not understanding remedial math.
I am terrible at math, but Ted made everything seem simple and easy. The first time I took math 120, I failed it. When I took it with Ted, I got an A. He is the best math teacher I've ever had. The class is a bit nerve racking because you are forced to participate, but it makes you pay attention.
He is harsh when you get answers wrong in class and he does make you answer questions. He explains things well though and his tests are pretty straight forward. Attendance isn't madnatory but every time you miss you get -3 points for participation. At the end if your participation grade is higher than your lowest test grade, it replaces it.
This class is so ridiculously easy.
Good teacher. Uses handouts don't really need a book unless you're going to do the homework which isn't mandatory. Go to class. Your attendance counts as a grade out of 100 if your attendance grade is higher than your lowest test grade he'll take your attendance grade. Recommend him as a teacher.
I cannot stand the way he teaches!! If you can, avoid him. He teaches by asking questions and criticizes anyone who gets the question wrong. I reccomend anyone BUT him. The class was easy, but I'm good at Math. He doesn't know how to teach.
He is very frustrating to sit through. He goes one by one throughout the lecture hall and asks you a question about a problem he is doing on the overhead. He tries to dumb it down however he tends to dumb it down too much and makes the class terrible to sit through. Avoid him.
Garbage professor, terrible person, and arrogant to everyone in his class. The man simply has no respect for people and tries everything to make you look stupid in front of the class. I've been treated better in the military basic training. AVOID. AVOID. AVOID.
This guy was awesome. You just have to take you time and actually study outside of class. Although he is loud while teaching it is only to catch he attention of the student to make sure you get the point. He is very helpful outside of class as well and more than willing to work.
Excellent Professor. He knows his stuff. He is very fair. His teaching style keeps you paying attention. Anyone who rates him poorly just didn't put enough time in on the class.
Rough edges BUT, I passed his class with a B, and I haven't done that since 6th grade. (I suck at math) so take that as a sign. Possibly not for everyone, but if he didn't force us to participate in class, I would have never paid attention and would be retaking this class. Just don't be a moron and you will be fine.
He is a terrible teacher. He's arrogant and rude. He treats his strudents like they haven't passed algebra. If you're looking for an easy teacher than choose him, if you're looking to actually be educated, find someone else. My suggstion AVOID. AVOID. AVOID.
This teacher was seriously the best math teacher I have ever had. People say he was hard, but he is not. If you care, and try, you will get an A. He knows his stuff and makes people participate and show up to class..but so what this is college and thats how you learn people. BEST TEACHER.
Attendance is mandatory and is hard to follow along with in class. Forces students to show all work on tests and every question you get wrong on the tests lowers you 1 letter grade. Terrible teacher. All other teachers graded off of right or wrong andwer while he grades off of work. Worst Teacher I have ever had.
Great teacher for those who have trouble learning math. Just do the suggested homework and get a tutor as need, but he is so clear in teaching. He goes extremely slow in class so it is laid out for you and you should have no problem. Hes got a quirky sense of humor and has problems hearing but a great math teacher!
This guy is an absolute amazing teacher. He explains everything so clearly so anyone can understand the material. Homework is assigned but not graded. The only studying really needed is to do all the homework the night before the test. Go to class and pay attention, easy A!
This guy is a very through teacher. He explains everything by asking every person in the room questions. He is really weird-- but its not a big deal. Make sure you do the homework before the quiz so you know what is going on. But, you don't have to do it so thats awesome as well.
Fuller's lectures are not mandatory, but your lowest test grade is replaced with your attendance score so I would recommend going to class. He goes around and asks everyone a question at least 20 times during the year, I was nervous at first but its really not that bad. He made it easier to learn and I would recommend him to anyone.
Teds a cool guy. Yells sometimes and tends to make fun of people. Notes are laid out, attendance not mandatory but what and how he teaches is different from the book so go to class. Every time youre absent he takes 3 pts off of your attendance grade, but all that does is replace your lowest grade.
I thought ted was an awesome teacher! He would upset students by yelling at them and going row by row asking questions. He over explains things, which can be annoying, so that everyone can understand him. His tests are hand written. Overall an easy class!
He is a great professor. Go to every class, take notes, do the homework and you will be fine! Alot of students complain about how difficult it is, he goes over every single type of problem in class that is on the test! I do advise him i'm not even good at math and got a B...
Honestly the worst thing to ever happen to the math department. He is rude and arrogant. Treats no one with respect. He over explains each problem making it 10x more confusing. I have taught myself how to do every section because he cannot teach. He does not collect the homework making it harder to get a better grade in the class. God awful.
He is very good at explaining each question thoroughly, go to class and he will make you pay attention because of how he asks everyone questions. They are not hard questions so he yells when you answer wrong. If you can sack up and handle him yelling at you i guarantee you will learn a lot. Just dont take it personal when he raises his voice
Awful. He's condescending, rude and arrogant. He insults students on a regular basis. Not an approachable professor (or person for that matter) at all. Do not take a class from him if you can help it, (especially if math is a hard subject for you in the first place).
ted is awesome if you attend class. he is a very clear lecturer. he is an overall G
Overall a good teacher. However, he does call on people on by one down the rows of the lecture and yells at kids if you get the question wrong. It made me not want to go to class a lot. He does take attendance for a grade so you will have to go.
His repetitive nature helps drill the concepts into your brain, making the tests easier to get through. He can be arrogant, but he means well. He will make you laugh if you can appreciate his sense of humor.
Fuller is a great professor. He goes row by row, person by person and asks them a simple question so that he gets immediate feedback on whether you know the concepts or not. He is more than willing to help you during office hours if you need help. If you attend lecture, he makes you pay attention, which makes the class go by much faster!
He is rude and condescending, but overall he just wants his students to understand. I don't like how he calls on each student, so it made me want to avoid going to class.
Fuller is a great professor. He can be annoying but he can also be funny. Go to class he takes attendance EVERYDAY and it pays off in the end because he drops your lower test grade and replaces it with your attendance grade. He's helpful if you go to his office hours too. Overall the class wasn't bad
He asks questions to students to make sure you understand. He can be rude at some points, but it is overall helpful. You only need the book if you plan on doing the homework, but it is not mandatory. You must show your work on all tests and quizzes because he grades based off work and right answer. Your attendance grade replaces your lowest test.
If you hate math, Take Fuller. He will force you to learn the material. Failed the class with Prunty, I actually learned and got an A with Fuller. He uses arrogance to keep you awake, and I laughed alot at people stressing out about being called out. I thought he was hilarious
If you have him for lecture he goes through the rows and you have to answer the question. If you get it wrong he yells at you in front of the whole class. If you aren't the best at math GO you will fail if you skip. He takes attendance everyday and it adds up in the end and helps you big time if you come everyday. He's not that bad, pretty clear.
If you find yourself in Ted Fuller's class someday, you will be called on. He goes through the rows calling on every student. Also, attendance is taken everyday. I found myself offended by Ted Fuller often because he's made rude and inappropriate comments. That said, you will learn math if you can put up with him.
He is very sarcastic, but he uses it to keep you paying attention. He spells out everything for you so as long as you listen there is no way to fail. At times his lectures can be long and annoying but he is very helpful and respectful when you go to office hours. I would, hands down, take him for any other math class.
This class was a little hard, still got a B. He can be kinda scary if you don't answer a question right because he will ask you again until you answer him correctly. As long as you pay attention is class getting through this class was not that bad. Just make sure you do the homework even though its "optional" cause it will help you a lot.
He calls on every person with questions, but they aren't hard. He raises his voice from time to time but it's not in anger, its to help you understand so be prepared for that. His instructions are crystal clear, though. If you don't answer correctly he will walk you through to the right answer. Pretty hard to not understand if you're listening.
Great teacher. The only thing that sucks is that he goes down the rows asking every student questions which can be a little nerve racking.
You will be forced to participate and talk in front of the class at least once, maybe twice, a week. He is not super nice if you get the question wrong but if you pay attention, his questions are not usually super difficult. Attendance will boost your grade a lot if you go.
Ted was hilarious! The first day of class I was completely terrified because he teaches by calling on students. He sounds mean and scary in the beginning but was really a respectful guy. I really liked him and he taught the material very, very well!! If you show up, sit in the front and give him the occasional smile/laugh, he'll appreciate it!!
Hated him to begin the semester. He yells and comes off as mean and harsh, but as the semester went on I realized how awesome I was doing in his class. His teaching style really helps me understand and do well. He yells to get his point across. At times it makes me resent him but I've never done so well in a math class before.
TAKE HIS CLASS!! I love Ted! He is such a great guy and a wonderful teacher! If you go to class and pay attention you will pass. Yeah you do get called on in lecture but it makes you actually listen and if you get something wrong he might make a joke about it but he will definitely make sure you understand it before he moves on.
Great teacher. He goes through the rows and calls on everyone for answers, so you are required to go and participate. He might roast you if you get the answer wrong but the questions aren't hard and he won't move on until you understand. He can be loud and sarcastic, but I thought he was funny. Basically, if you pay attention you can't fail.
Mr. Fuller is one of the best instructors I've had in my life! He really wants each of his students to succeed. He is always available if you are struggling, expect homework. Tests are simple if you do it. Although this is one of the harder Calc courses I've taken, he explains the material exceptionally well. Gives extra credit if you don't miss.
Had for lecture 8am Mon Wed Thurs Fri. "Attendance grade" AG replaces quiz average or lowest test grade. Each day missed without excuse -3 points on AG. Has good methods of teaching. Where you sit day one is where you sit until the end in class. He goes down the rows to call people in order to answer things aloud. You will answer questions aloud.
His teaching style makes learning the material easy and he will not move on until you understand. Yes, if you get an answer wrong he will roast the hell out of you but that is just his humor. If you have thin skin don't take his class, so take his roasts with a grain of salt. He doesn't hate you for it, he just wants you to understand the material.
I have struggled understanding math my entire life. Professor Fuller explains some of the hardest concepts so well for his students. Yes he does call on you, but you will understand it so much better. Do the homework and you will get a good grade. See him in his office hours if you have questions.
I think Ted Fuller is one of the best teachers I have ever had in my life. He really does care that you pass his class. Yes he does call on you in class but it makes you pay attention and yes he also will roast you but just take it hes kinda funny sometimes. This class in general is difficult and he explained it to me very very well. TAKE HIM!!
He runs a tight ship. He teaches the material by systematically going around the room calling on students. The lecture is just a series of questions. It's agonizing. Tests and quizzes are short but sometimes require lots of showing work. If you blank on a single question your grade can be severely impacted. Easy class, decent yet eccentric teacher.
I have struggled understanding math my entire life. Professor Fuller explains some of the hardest concepts so well for his students.
He's good at teaching math, but he's a horrible person. Get ready to be called on every day. He makes fun of you in front of the entire class if you answer wrong. He brings politics into his lessons, and not in a good way. He added extra classes on days we didn't normally meet because he got us behind schedule. He yells a lot too. He terrified me.
He comes off kind of rude at first but he is really just trying to get you to understand the topic. He teaches more difficult topics in a way that makes it really easy to understand. Homework is not mandatory, but if you do it you will pass all the tests and class. He calls on everyone but as long as your paying attention you won't have prob
Terrible person. He made fun of a kid with glasses in the front row that couldn't see the board and told the kid to get his vision checked again. Turns out the kid was legally blind. He yells way too much, adds extra classes, and won't repeat problems in class. One-on-one, he isn't bad though and he knows his subject. He's just bad at teaching.
I liked Ted fuller. He comes off really rude and scary the first week. In all honesty he is a nice guy. If you ask for help he will give it to you. Yes he goes down the rows and calls on people. His questions are not that hard as long as you pay attention. Half the time he says the answer 10 secs before he asks you the question.
Ted Fuller is difficult to like at first because he can come off as rude and loud. He does yell a lot in class, but it kept me awake at 8 a.m. If you come to class, take notes, and do the homework you will pass the class. All of the exam questions are exactly like the homework questions. Yes there is a lot of homework, but it is easy and helpful.
he comes off as super scary at first but it's not that bad, he's clear with his teaching and doesn't like college students' B.S. Attendance counts as a grade, but also it would be hard to do well in this class without ever showing up. Everything is pretty straight forward in his class, just show up and study and you'll be ok!
I had Ted Fuller at 8am and I could barely wake up to go. Yes, attendance is mandatory and he takes 3pts off every time you miss class, but to wake up at 8 and go get yelled at for an hour... couldn't do it. The course itself is easy to figure out but I missed a test and he replaced it with my attendance score... a 23... So don't skip on this man..
Ted is interesting. He comes off as rude in front of the class but actually is okay when you go in for help during his office hours. He will answer any question you have. Be ready to be called on. He goes in order and calls on everyone. He gives a decent amount of homework but the tests and quizzes are mirrored from the homework and class work.
I hated this class but oddly loved Ted. He's very sarcastic and I found it funny but if you're not into getting called out when you don't know the answer to something; don't take this course. Attendance isn't "mandatory" but if you miss he takes 3pts off out of 100 every time, and trust me, that 100 pts at the end of the semester.. you will need it
Ted seems really scary at first. He's loud and calls on everyone during lecture, and he'll give you a hard time if you don't get it right. BUT he does it out of kindness; he's really just teasing (he's honestly hilarious) and wants to make sure everyone understands. He's really good at explaining. Lots of quizzes/tests. He doesn't use ReggieNet.
Ted is a great professor. I actually understand math when he teaches. He comes off as an ass but he's actually really cool. I like that he calls on people in order to answer questions because it helps me to pay attention.
TED IS AMAZING! I took 120 with him, and I was so happy to get into his section for 121. It was definitely harder, but he does a great job of explaining things, he's super straight forward, and he keeps you paying attention in class by calling on you. You have to work hard for your grade, but the class and grading policy is really straight forward!
I've never met an educator that teaches like this guy. I overall good at math, but his teaching style is not my favorite. He has really messy handwriting which I hated. He calls on everyone and attendence counts as a grade. I wouldn't take him again
He is funny, but does not use email, or any technology this makes it difficult to get notes if you miss class for any reason, he is a very tough grader and the course is test heavy for sure. There are only 10 questions on exams so the tiny mistakes cost a lot of points
Ted comes off as a very mean guy, but he actually cares for his students and just wants them to do well. He WILL yell at you if you get an answer wrong in class, but dont take it personally because itll probably happen to everyone. The tests are fairly easy, but make sure youre keeping up with your homework before you take them.
Not accessible outside of class. Doesn't check email or use ReggieNet, so you may want to keep track of your own grades. Be in class because a heavy majority of your grade is attendance (and he keeps very careful track). His sense of humor is very dry and course. Not the most sensitive caring person, but you will get used to it eventually.
class is really hard to follow because he doesn't use any technology and has bad handwriting, cant ever really get help with anything and relies heavily on TA's to do most of the work. 4 quizzes worth 25pts. and 4 exams worth 100 final exam worth 200pts tends to gloss over important topics and doesn't ever go back I wouldn't suggest taking him
At first Ted seems scary, but he is actually a really sweet guy. He calls on every student in the class one by one so if you hate public speaking, I don't recommend him. He taught the material very clearly and was helpful. Each test was basically the quiz & a few new questions. Come to class for a higher attendance grade to cover your worst score.
Attendance can literally save your grade or bump you up a letter like it did for me. Go to class and ask for help or you will fall behind as it is challenging. Ted is intimidating but he knows what he is talking about and explains concepts very well. He does examples in class that appear exactly the same on tests which makes them fairly easy
Tests are basically based off homework questions. Very lecture heavy and attendance makes up a huge part of your grade. Get a tutor, do your homework, and go to class and youll get an A.
Ted is a funny guy! He really knows his stuff, he calls on everyone in the room to answer a question and if you do get it wrong he will yell at you. But nobody cares because thats Ted. The quizzes and tests are pretty much the same they come from homework problems. so do the homework!
I ended up dropping this class because his teaching philosophy was not one I matched well with. He will mock you in front of the whole class if you get a question wrong. No reggienet page, suggested homework, grade based on tests and quizzes. Does not allow retakes even if you are missing class for an excusable reason (I had court, no makeup). :(
Ted is an interesting professor. His lectures are super easy to follow and it's very easy to take the notes. Attendance is for a grade, and each time you miss class, 3 points are subtracted from your attendance grade. At the end of the term, your attendance grade replaces your lowest test score. Overall, not too bad of a class if you pay attention.
Fuller comes across as rude during class, but I've talked to him during office hours and he's actually an okay guy. Still, I don't recommend the 8 am class like many others on here. Attendance matters, especially if you want to truly understand the material and do well on the tests. The questions are very much right out of the text book.
Attend every class, its worth points and he goes up and down the rows to make sure each person gets the concepts he's going through. Seems a little harsh but he's a very nice guy. Your attendance grade can replace a low test grade. Doesn't do much outside contact besides office hours though.
Gives partial credit on tests and quizzes. Doesnt grade homework but definitely do it. Very loud, and annoying at 8:00am. Assigned seats and calls on everyone even in a big lecture hall.
Ted is a teacher that has an old school style of teaching. Im a person whos not very good/doesnt enjoy math, so this class was definitely hard to go to every day at 8 am, but I did. Make sure you do. However, this class did make me really frustrated and I had to work very hard to get a B. Guess it kinda depends on your learning style. Work hard
He's been a professor for forever and is very intense. I took the honors section and he speaks to each one of us like we're an individual brain cell in a single brain. Class is tedious and he's pretty old fashioned. You'll learn for sure but he makes class anxiety inducing. One time he took a chair and threw it on the ground to make a point. SCARY
If you go to class, your going to pass but BE PREPARED. All he does is scream at you and is very hard to get in contact with outside of class
Ted is SO rude and yells at you in front of the whole class. Calls on everyone even in a big lecture and you get yelled at or called stupid if you don't understand. Old school teaching style. Ted also before the week of finals made a NON mandatory meeting DURING other classes and said if you dont come you wont pass the final. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS
Don't like getting yelled at? Don't take this class. Nobody in the room of 200 escapes having to answer questions. Does not assign online homework- you'll need the physical book. The homework is not graded, so your grade depends 100% on your tests and quizzes. Don't slack in this class. Playing catchup is brutal.
Ted is a very great teacher but he has a very strange form of teaching. He goes up and down the rows asking questions to the students to teach the lessons. This is not the ideal form of teaching but it really makes sure that you are paying attention in this class, and it made it a lot easier for me to pass.
Please, and I cannot stress this enough, do NOT take Ted's class if you suffer from anxiety. I promise you he will make it worse. Every single day he goes up and down the rows of the lecture hall and interrogates every single person with math questions on the spot and he'll literally call you an idiot in front of 100+ people if you get it wrong.
Do not take MAT 120 with this guy. I took this course with him for a week and dropped and took it with another prof. Doesn't know how to use the internet so if you need to contact him you have to call his home phone. Also assigned a lot of homework and required you to go to both lectures and lab 5 days a week. He was mean too
Professor Fuller is one-of-a-kind. You always knew what to expect in his class. There was never a surprise in lecture or during our quiz/exam classes. He makes you participate, so you need to show up and know what is going on. I would recommend Professor Fuller, as everyone needs the bluntness he exudes in lecture.
Ted Fuller is hands down the best math teacher I have ever had. I took Calculus back in 2003 with him. I never would have made it into the College of Business if it wasn't for him. His unique method of teaching math should be the template every math teacher K thru 12 and beyond should use. I hope he is reads this because he got e through school!
