Great professor. Great class. Makes things easy for you. If you do the homework, and ask questions if you are unsure, you will do great in this class. The tests are pretty much copies of the homework. It's the same thing, so if you just do the hw, you will pass the test with flying colors. You have to do the homework, it's a good way to study and actually understand the material. This is the 4th math class I had him as a teacher. I keep taking him and taking him bc he is an excellent intructor

He is one of the best college professors I've had. He makes math easy because he breaks everything up into little pieces, but if you miss too many classes or don't do the homework, it's easy to get confused/lost. He is funny, helpful, and easy going. He makes sure you understand everything and helps you out until you do. Tests are almost completely from homework (which he gives every night), so if you do the work, you'll do really well. Do the homework even though it's not graded. Keep up with the work!

I wasn't that interested in this course at the beginning, and when I ended the course, I liked math. Prof. Gordon is by far one of the best math teachers I've ever had, I was able to get A's on my math tests and look forward to going to math class. Math was always one of my weakest points, and he made it fun.

For our class we did have homework every night, which wasn't counted toward our grade... just 4 tests were (5 week class). However, he reviews everything & is always willing to go over it again.

I took statistics with Professor Gordon after not taking a math class in over 10 years. He made this information exciting and new. He gave everyone in class opportunities to get the highest grade they could. Tests were just enough to get your brain working. The clarity of his teaching methods was amazing. I highly recommend!

I am taking calculus as a summer course with this professor and he is always happy and ready to teach. He is fair in his grading and is good at explaining the material. Despite it being a 2 and a half hour class he actually keeps me interested. He also makes copies out the book and hands it out as homework so there is really no need to buy a book

Professor Gordon is exactly what a math professor should be, knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely a great guy. He tells some awful jokes but they help keep you alert when problems drag on for a while. Math isn't my favorite subject but he made everything so understandable and kept me so entertained the whole time. If you want to learn math then take Professor Gordon, I promise you that you will not regret it.

It is unfortunate that passion is terribly cliché, because that is precisely what Prof. G. has in abundance. Everything he does is motivated by that passion. He can explain the reason for EVERYTHING he teaches. Yes, his tests are short, but that's because if he didn't have to give them he wouldn't. He simply wants you to learn. That's it.

Although the material is tough professor Gordon makes as simple as he can. He finds easy ways to explain the material and is always willing to give further help. I took pre calculus with professor Gordon, and enjoyed so much the simplicity of his class that I took him again for calculus I and II.

Super nice, incredibly funny and easy to get along with. Makes class fun and learning easy. Would take again for any subject available.

Professor Gordon was BY FAR the best professor I have ever had. I had him for Calc 3 and Diff Eq and he ALWAYS made the class interesting, and used funny remarks to keep you interested. He is very easy to understand, and is always willing to help if needed. Transferred to a university and still keep in touch with him. DEFINITELY take him!!!

Professor Gordon is one of the best professors OCC has. He used to teach the OCC television math series. If you don't like math, you will after you take him. I took him for Calculus I and he made the math make sense! I would definitely recommend. If you do the homework, you should get an A no problem.

By far the best teaching professor I have had. He wants you to learn. He cares about the students understand of the lesson. Takes extra time after class to help and encourages students to visit him in his office for assistance. I will be taking this professor again as often as possible. Professor Gordon makes math fun and that is hard to do.

Professor Gordon is clear and straightforward to introduce an important concept that will converge most criteria of calculus and algebra into something that finally makes sense. Pay attention its worth it and hes not boring at all, in fact probably the most upbeat math classroom you'll be in.

I failed calculus 2 my spring semester, took it over the summer with Professor Gordon and aced it like it was nothing. He keeps the lectures interesting and is a funny guy overall. He grades each question based on whether you understand the setup of the problem and not necessarily the correct numerical answer. The world needs more people like him!

I am not good in math but I absolutely enjoyed Professor Gordon. He is very fair, gives extra credit, and is accessible before & after class. Great sense of humor, caring, & kind. I highly recommend. Book is only necessary if you need to practice. Take him! You won't regret it!

If you want to actually learn math then this probably isn't the class for you, but if you're taking it because you have to, take Gordon's class. I failed virtually every test but he knew I was putting the effort forth and I still received a B. Great man and he is very good at math he just has a hard time explaining the material thoroughly.

Before taking his class, I almost thought his scores seemed too good to be true. However, OCC is beyond fortunate to have Prof. Gordon on campus. His tests have lots of choice so if you blank on a single concept, it won't harm you. He's always willing to go over problems and resonates well with students. Only issue: his classes fill quickly

Prof. Gordon is THE BEST! Math is an intimidating subject for me and i was nervous to take it in college, but he made it very understandable and always kept the class light/not overwhelming and very passable. He is so caring and understanding. I actually looked forward to his class! I was able to learn and enjoy math because of him!

AMAZING, he is such a good professor. He goes over what we are learning, does some examples and lets you out (most of the time 15 minutes early). His examples are super helpful and are always use funny statistics. He is willing to help you with anything you don't understand and is really good at explaining what you need to do.

Gordon cares about people. With that said, grades have some kind of curve even if extra credit is not offered. I took Statistics with him, it is important and helpful to be in class but not mandatory. He will repeatedly teach you how to execute and interpret his graded test questions. Apply the knowledge he gives you and you will have an A.

Professor Gordon is the best math instructor I ever had and I have no regrets for taking Calculus II in the evening with him. He explains this difficult material in a way that anyone can understand and he cares about his students' success. Grade is based on both take home and in class exams but he makes sure you know what to study for.

I H A T E math but Gordon made it seem like I have been learning statistics for years. Would take another math class with him in a heartbeat. If you are not gifted with amazing math capabilities, take his class! If you plan on taking his class though, register as soon as possible because his classes fill up quickly (mine filled up in 2 days).

I loved Professor Gordon. Made statistics easy to understand. Classes are entertaining, he always explains everything in a way that is clear and not difficult to understand, even if you're not great at math. Definitely one of my favorite professors, just seems like a really great person in general. Would definitely recommend for statistics.

I would definitely recommend taking Prof Gordon. Very funny and made the time fly. He kept it interesting. I'm not strong in math but he explained it clearly and I really understood the concepts.

Professor Gordon is my favorite professor I have ever had. His classes made me realize I wanted to become a math major. Probably the BEST math teacher I've everr had! He makes statistics so easy and I was dreading that class. He breaks it down to an elementary level if you need him to. He is always upstairs to help you with ANYTHING. Most of your tests are take-home and he encourages everyone to work on them together so you get to really know the material. THE BEST!

I had him for calc 1 & 2 at night. Honestly he's great, he actually teaches and is accessible after class and at the tutoring center where he frequently hangs out with students. I failed calc but he made things understandable. Tests are straightforward and from hw. Take him for any math class. I got an A in calc1 and a B in calc2.

prof Theodore is just great! his exams were fair. some were take home. drops your lowest exam grade and he knows what he is doing. would highly recommend.

He showed me something from calc i barely understood and made it clear as day. 5 minutes with him made a whole unit on calc clear. This man knows stat and calc. Truly a great man and professor.

Hands down my favorite professor at OCC took him for Calc 1 and Calc 2. If he taught Calc 3 I would go all the way to the highest math with him if possible. If you can take him please do you will not regret it.

Professor Gordon was my professor for the first Calculus class I ever took and would be the only professor I would take for another calculus course. Coming in I hadn't done any math in almost 2 years, but he cared about my grade and was extremely willing to help me to better understand the material. Just ask and he will help you!

Really great guy. took his calc 1 online due to covid-19. He got us through the material in the best way possible. I am not gonna lie though, he would always say that the test is coming straight from the homework and stuff would be on the test that we have never seen before. So just be prepared to study hard for his tests.

I am taking Gordon for Intro for Stats. He is incredibly caring. Homework is not mandatory but i would recommend doing it to be prepared for the tests which are your only grades in this class. I wish we werent remote because he seems very kind. Very easy work and he just wants you to understand the concepts not the actual math.

Professor Gordon is by far the BEST professor Ive ever had. Stats is a pretty hard class but he takes his time and goes slow so everyone understands whats going on in class. He also makes the class interesting and not boring!! I would 1,000% recommend to take him for stats!!!

Literally the nicest, best professor. I have the math level of a freshman in high school and he was able lecture stats in a way for me to understand. He is such a great guy, and wish I could of had him in person. Attendance is not mandatory so if you have a job you can just watch on your own time. I hope he knows how grateful we are for him.

Professor Gordon is literally an angel. He's super approachable and the class I took was crazy easy, but he still would thoroughly explain anything to anyone who didn't get it. He obviously cares about his students and he handled online learning really well. There were only three grades for the whole semester, but the tests are basic concepts.

Calc 2 and Discrete Math, both are advanced so the material is hard but He is really passionate, will assign just the right amount of homework to practice/lock your skills, will take time from class to review questions, will actually go over a concept in depth instead of two simple examples and moving on and giving you HW you have no idea about

Math has always been my worst subject and Professor Gordon made things so clear. The class is a math class so you do have to put in effort and study but Professor Gordon will go out of his way to make sure you pass the class.

He is very caring about his students success and will make sure that you have all the tools avaible to succeed in his class. His lecture are very funny, he barely does any powerpoint and he'd rather go over example to demonstrate calculus principle. 11/10

I just loved him. He is AMAZING. You are only graded by a few things but he drops your lowest exam grade! He is available during office hours to give extra help. He applied what we were learning in Calc II to the real world which was awesome. He made me like Calculus which after my Calc I experience I never really thought could happen. Thank you!

Best math professor yet. Four to five exams depending on class progression, drops the lowest one. You are only graded on exams, if you do all of the homework, you will be more than ready. even then- he offers extra credit. For each mistake he has on the board, if you point him out, the entire class gets a extra credit point!We averaged 10 per exam

Builds great rapport with students, is incredibly personable, and genuinely wants to see you succeed. Has excellent teaching methods which makes calculus easy to understand, and grades based on content and whether you know the material, not memorization. Always manages to put a smile on my face. Only 8AM I'd ever take again. 100/10

Mr. Gordon is a gentleman, super thankful I got calc 1 with him. He explains concepts directly and with lots of examples. 2 downsides: 1. no hw, so only test grades. 2. sometimes he goes very fast so someone has to slow him down with a question. Overall, he is the perfect teacher for calculus tho, because he is so practical and easy to understand.

I would take professor Gordon for any math class ever. He was so caring and sweet to everyone and just loved to get to know all of his students. I have very bad math anxiety and test taking anxiety and he gave me so many outlets to take my test in private which was nice. 100% worth taking!

I just want to thank Professor Gordon, I had to retake maths that were requirements that weren't counted towards my degree and he helped me through those maths as well as my college maths. I wish I had him all my life. I love math now, I'm confident and can apply all the skills, tricks and tips he has taught me. I 1000% recommend Prof. Gordon.

Had him for both Discrete (SP23) & Diff Eqs (FA23), still one of my favorite professors ever! The concepts he taught were not easy by any means but he made them seem like they are! Very engaging with students, easy to reach out to if you need help with anything. It's a disservice to yourself if you go to OCC & never take a class with him! 10/10
