This class has consumed my life. The tough homework he assigns is collected weekly. Expect to spend two hours each day doing it. Tests are difficult as well. Work hard in his class, and it won't necessarily pay off, unfortunately. This is coming from someone who had an A in math 110A.
He is an EXCELLENT teacher I have ever met. take his class you will understand MATH 110A/B/C clearly. trust me! I got A in 110A, also this semester I will get A in 110B . after that, your will feel your math stronger than before.
He is the best teacher city college has to offer. Very clear and Very Thorough; i will admit, he is very very tough, but one of the best damn math teachers ever!! he will help you and encourage you to stick with it even when you're doin poorly, and he will motivate you. very good teacher
His class give me confidence, I like his lecture and all of his handouts, they are very helpful and worth to keep. After u take his math 110B class, his gives u confidence.and his special tech. on math is very thoughtful. RATE 100% worth to take it.
easy class, this teacher is thoughtful. this semester I got A in final test!!
Good teacher, I got an A in his class. A lot of homework to do it, but u can get A in test.
This is a great teacher who really cares about his students and really knows his subject matter. He is very good at explaining things from the beginning (before everyone is confused!). He sets the students up for success. Can he teach all of my classes?

Can't love him more. I admit he's a bit hard but he absolutely prepares you for future math challenges. I took the whole calculus series with him. It's not easy but I enjoyed his class. Very clear both in lecture and his homework solutions. If u are serious about math take him.
He is the best teacher I've had in CCSF. He knows the material very well, and explains very clearly. Plus, he's always patient, helpful and concerned about students' learning. Homeworks and exams are pretty challenging, but they help you learn alot. I highly recommend to take math classes with him.
his class is quite difficult but i did manage to get an A, he is quite clear on what he is saying, but if you do not understand the concepts, you might have some trouble, take him if you have high interests in math
It's not easy, but when you are done you will really know your stuff. Prepares you for future classes and he seems to have a lot of friends in the industry (engineering) so he while he teaches he also prepares you for the future.
Mr Lee loves math and is excellent at teaching it. He is increadibly smart, nice and clear in his lectures. When students have questions he's patient and understanding. I would recomend him to anyone. He gives alot of homework, but it comes with the teritory!
Good if you are going on to take calculus
Very helpful, clarity, give very careful steps. He is hard, but you learn alot from him.
First of all, don't be frightened by the other comments, if you are really good at math. Half students drop. At the end of the semester he spent only two days to finish chapter 11(parametric), and 2 of 11 questions are come from this chapter, where I lost a lot of points... Don't think doing all the homework carefully is good enough to get an A.
Excellent teacher, very willing to help student. Tests are really like the practice test, and the final is similar to the tests. He gives a lot of handouts and does not base on book. If you don't prepare before the lecture, probably he teach too fast for you to catch up. Not recommended if you are not math major. Work hard but maybe end up with B.
he's very clear and loves what he teaches. you'll definitely learn a lot. but this class is not recommended to procrastinators, like myself. once you lag behind, it's very hard to catch up. plus he does not allow cheat sheets on exams so you'll have to memorize all the formulas.
This class was the hardest class ive ever took at city college and ive been attending for 3 years. He is crystal clear but doesnt give you enough homework. On the first the highest grade in the class was a 84%. I had to drop it. If you need the class to graduate i wouldnt recommend him. he didnt use the book much either like they said.
He's a wonderful teacher. He's very organized, understandable and useful. Even though his class is pretty hard, you can still pass the class by just attending the class, listening careful, doing your homework. Good luck!!
Extremely nice guy that is willing to help you out. He's really hard, Mr. Lee is brillant and sometimes loses sight of the level of his students. I recomend taking him only if your really ready to work for your grade.
Mr. Lee is a nice guy, tries to help you with the best of his ability, but most of all you have to do the effort. There are two numbers you should know: less than 50 is an "F" and more than 90 is "A", in between depends on class performance. If you get a 60% on a test, that can be a "C" or better. I dont recommend him if you're not willing to try.
If you like and understand the Calculus textbook used in the 110 series of classes, do NOT take this class. The first exam was quite manageable. The subsequent exams were very difficult. The amount of homework assigned each week took me a long, long time to complete and I do not think it helped me much at all.
Although Precalculus is quite a tough subject, Mr. Lee is a fair teacher. He allows a take-home portion of most of his exams. Homework is optional, but necessary for comprehending material. Overall a nice, organized teacher who wants his students to succeed.
Correction: Mr Lee is polite and has good handwriting. He is challenging and fair. If you don't want to study or do homework, you will do poorly. If you want to apply yourself, you will learn not just the how of pre-calculus, but the why of it as well.
Very good teacher. Makes the material very clear on how it is supposed to be done, and points out common mistakes from earlier classes. Hands out notes for everything he teaches and goes over all examples in class. Sometimes lets the class out late, though. Highly recommend to anyone with a math or science major.
Extremely difficult teacher for Math 90. Covered material that is not expected in any other math 90 course. Little to no help is available outside of class. All notes are hand-outs w/ material not covered in the book while HW is from the book. He claims that he is preparing students for calculus, however, some material in class is calculus.
Extremely huge workload but quite fair for science major students. Good teacher and good teaching, though I am having a hard time to pass the class but I realize that is really my problem. Preview the material far ahead of the semester begins!
Mr. Lee is a great teacher! Very thorough, knowledgeable, and genuinely wants his students to be fully prepared for calculus. I'm a slacker (and bad at math) so I totally flunked this class, but I'm fully prepared to take his class again and really try my best. He's probably the best math teacher at City and I'm really appreciative of that.
He is difficult for sure, but his lecture, clarity, and note are the best of the difficult math teachers. Math 130 is just a hell no matter who teach it.
He is very knowledgeable, polite, and has high expectations of his students. If you put the time and effort into completing the homework and practice tests, he will be there to help you every step of the way. A bit heavy on the theory side, less on the practical side.
Mr. Lee is the best teacher ever! He lives to teach and makes sure we understand everything he's trying to convey. He gets down to our level of our understanding so that we will be able to comprehend ridiculously complicated concept. It works. He makes math fun and interesting, like it's a game or a mystery to be solved.
I'm UC Berkeley student who took his class 1 year ago. There is just one thing I can tell about his class. His class is as hard as UCB classes, period.
Mr. Lee is the best math teacher I ever had at CCSF. He hands out notes that are awesome, I never read the textbooks. You do need the books for homework though. I'm now taking upper div linear algebra, and it is a breeze thanks to what Mr. Lee taught me. Be prepared to WORK HARD to pass.
I took Mr. Lee's class last semester and found that he's one of the most competent teacher I've ever had in my years at CCSF. He teaches in a very systematic way, and guides you in solving difficult math problems step by step. It is not guarantee that you'll get an A since everyone's potential is different. But you'll learn the most if you take him
On recent exam median score was 30/50. If you take this class you WILL learn the subject and you WILL work HARD, you will probably also end up with a low grade on your transcript! Lots of HW assigned, only some is graded: 95% of the work might = 50% for your grade! Grade given does not reflect time or understanding of subject which is BS!
If u want to turn in 15-25 pages of homework every week which by the way counts towards your course grade, take him. An amazing effect of this course is that u will work your ass off, you will learn some serious multivariable calculus, but most likely will not get a final grade you want to see on your transcript.
3 words to describe him he is awesome . Btw, for people who are not getting grades you want, maybe you all need to spend more time on your hw instead of commenting on this website to get better grades. One more time, Mr.Lee, you're awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have had a lot of math classes at CCSF,but Mr.Lee is the only prof who actually prepared me for the university-level workload and teacher expectations. He was also helpful during office hours and he changed his grading system to help some struggling students.Take him if you are ready for some challenge and want to get some serious math knowledge
If you are just looking to learn advanced algebra concepts before going to calculus, take someone else. The class is number theory and philosophy put together. If that's your thing, be my guest. Only other people who have taken his class can help you if you are stuck. He doesn't use the book much, but he is happy to answer questions. Go to class.
If you really want to learn, take his class.lots of hw,turn in on Tue,give practise test before test, offer office hours. The tsets are Not hard as long as you do the hw, practice and pay attention to his class.Take his class, prepare to work hard. A very goog instructor.GO and TAKE IT.
Prof Lee teaches extremely well. He preaches concepts and will help you learn math. He grades very hard on required homework but easy grading on tests. Tests are also easy if you do homework. LOTS of homework. Overall great class, very helpful & flexible office hours
He is a good psychotherapist!
Mr.Lee, you rule
I believe, he is the only professor on campus who is actually preparing his student to the world of university-level mathematics and workload in general.
I Love Mr.Lee. He is clever with his math jokes every now and then. He is very clear and precise. His handwriting and organization is very neat. He passes out a practice test most of the time, which is very similar to the real test. Probably one of the best math teachers in CCSF.
Professor Lee is the best math instructor in calculus I have ever encountered. His passion for the subject is obvious. His homework is very difficult and time-consuming, but if you put in the time to understand them, you will do well on his exams. He is very approachable and really cares about his students. Go to his office hours if you need help.
Professor Lee is a great teacher: very organized, intelligent, helpful and funny at times. However, his class is VERY hard to pass with an A or B. He only wants his students to use his methods of problem solving. He wouldn't give you points for getting the right answer by using your own method. After hoooours spent with tutors I barely got a B.
Lee is the best Math teacher I've ever had. If you need advanced math for your major, take him as much as possible. If you're looking for an easy A to fulfill an algebra requirement, TAKE SOMEONE ELSE. If you're ready to work hard, he can have an incredibly positive impact on your mathematical ability and confidence.
Mr. Lee is one of the best teachers I've EVER had! He is organized, thorough, well prepared & passionate about the class. The HW load is not light but doable. He prepared me well for my 4-year university! The exams are not that hard if you do the HW & do them over again before exams. His exam problems tend to be similar to the HW ones that he GRADED.
it is best to sit near the front of the class. can barely hear him talk and writing little bit hard to read (his "y" looks like x sometimes) and writes very light, easy not really, test pretty tough if you dont study the notes
i like him so much. he is such a great great teacher. his class is not easy and hw is time consuming, but he never trick his students. also he is really helpful. his care about his students. if you study hard, you will finish his class with good grade and fulfillment.
Knows what he's doing. Withdrew due to my lack of preparation, however with consistent communication, I'm definite I would have stayed. Stay on top of HW and the exams will flow easily through. Will take him again.
You'll get a thorough understanding of Calculus. He all about concept and making sure you know what you are doing. "Do math with a purpose" is his motto. That and "why?". He gives you HIS notes and HIS problems. (As an aside, many tutors aren't able to do his problems) You'll work hard for an A, AND you will have confidence using Calculus!
His lecture was hard to understand. U need to print out notes that he gave in the Dropbox. U should know how to do the difficult problem on the homework ( many tutors aren't able to do his problems) Tests were harder than anything he taught in class.
I must agree with the previous reviewer. The instructor stresses concept in dialogue but in practice takes a mind-numbingly formulaic approach. This pretension results in a very boring and tedious experience. I ended up dropping the class and am now studying "A Course in Pure Mathematics" by Hardy, a far more engaging treatment of the subject.
Interesting lectures, but I'm so glad I dropped Lee's 130. Mandatory homework sets were so cryptic the whole class huddled in the LRC during his tutoring hour begging for clues. I hear that the few students still enrolled are in grave danger of failing. There's no way I would have passed even if I quit my job and dropped my other classes.
Lee is one of those rare, life-changing teachers that you never forget. Lectures are funny, clear, and inspirational. Provides his own notes, 2 practice tests, and detailed solutions to ALL hwtests. People who put him down are just lazy or cocky. If you pay close attention, you will seriously learn more about math, life, and yourself than therapy.
His class is tough, you need to study hard and then study again. Any math class worth its salt should be like that. Going to class is worth it when taking his classes. If your head isn't burning after a class then you aren't learning.
Professor Lee will provide the feedback you need to genuinely understand Calculus. This man's bane is rote memorization and a formulaic approach, so if you've used these as crutches up to now he will force you to rely solely on your legs. He assiduously grades homework; any flaw in your approach will be found and eliminated. Highly recommended.
Best professor I have ever had. If you want go into science or engineering, I would recommend to take him. We were exposed to proves in 110B which was different than calculation. Problem sets are not easy, but doable. His teaches in a university level and gives very clear supplementary notes.
Lee is a very pesimistic instructor. He constantly warns that if you fall behind on the material you will fail. He encouraged struggling students to drop if they did not show promise of improvement. Hours of homework. If you are struggling, this will take even longer. Go to tutoring. He instructs well but he will not slow down for you.
(1)many homework questions due every week (2)each homework will be marked carefully and the grade matters! (3) 4 tests and 1 final (4)the lowest test grade can be covered by the overall homework grade (5)notes are given with examples analyzed in class (6)really deep in maths which means you will learn something but not necessary!
1) Only a handful of tutors in the LAC will even attempt to help with Lee's problems, 2) he's easily irritated if you try to speak with him in person, 3) he actually grades homework, 4) exams are both long and difficult, and 5) after several conversations, it was abundantly clear that he holds no regard for the plight of struggling students.
HEAVY homework load every week. Tests are long & difficult. Don't bother going to the LAC. All the tutors struggle with Lee's problems since he teaches & assigns more complex probs. Bottom line:take him if you plan on going into higher levels of math+physics. You will benefit/learn a lot. If Calc 2 is as far as you need for math, DO NOT take him.
dont take this one !!!!!!! you will need to do at least 10 pages homework per week!!!and the test is more difficult than others !!!seriously, man ,don't do a such silly thing to take his calss
This was most likely the hardest math class that I ever took. I didn't passed his class but If I ever got a chance to take his class again I would. I hate to admit this but Mr. Lee has more math knowledge then me.
I took both Professor Lee's 110A and 110B classes. The instruction was really great. He walks you through the material; hence, you learn something every time. I am glad I took his classes. He is a very good instructor. I received an A in both classes. Now, I tutor my brother who is in the 8th grade taking pre-calculus. See ya!
Last Fall I didn't passed Calc 3 but then I retook Calc 3 with the same teacher and I beat Calc 3 and now I am ready for my next challenge. After taking Mr. Lee, I feel like my math has gotten a lot better and I also learn a lot. Overall, I think Mr. Lee is a good teacher and I hate to admit this but Mr. Lee has more math knowledge then me.
He is really test heavy. Tests are your grade.
Very knowledgeable and a great lecturer. However, he requires an immense amount of work and demands your full attention, or else you won't pass. Writes his own textbook and expects you to read it like the Bible, which is helpful, but also very technical so you must have a passion for math. Great for people who are very good at/enjoy math in general
You should only take this professor if you're a fast learner. He goes very fast and his expectations are quite high. You must be present for each class because he crams a lot of material into his lectures for the entire class period.
Mr. Lee is NO JOKE. I don't recommend his class. He expects way too much from students , he doesnt realize that students might have other classes too. When it comes to homewrok, you'll get plenty of it every single week, not kidding EVERY SINGLE WEEK. i'd spend HOURS and sometimes had no sleep trying to do his homework,. JUST DONT TAKE HIM
Mr. Lee was a difficult teacher. His tests were very hard and the homework will take hours to finish.
Knowledgeable, RIGOROUS, provides his own notes with blank examples gone over in class, tons of HW, you won't finish tests (4+final) which are more involved than homework, quick grader, very rushed at end of semester. Dry but friendly. Go to office hours - very good 1 on 1. Know your trig. Best for strong math students.
Me. Lee is really nice professor and he takes his work very serious. His lecture is well organized and clear. Grading Homework is not a big problem for me because it pushes me to catch up with the class. If your major is strongly related to math and you want to learn morehe would a good choice for you
He's a nice guy but honestly if this is just a GE class, take someone else. He assumes every student in his class is planning on becoming a stats major and teaches his class that way. The problems/homework he gives out start difficult and end almost impossible. Take someone else or get ready for a really hard class.
This is not the teacher you want to take. Take this teacher if you want free F. Really bad teacher. The lectures were confusing and never understood a single word. The exams are like ridiculously hard. It's like you are trying to get first place in an Olympics contest. Leave, do not take him.
Prof. Lee is a wonderful teacher. He comes to class every single day, even he lost his voice. His feedback of homework is clear and helpful. He also does homework every single time with us and put it in a beautiful blue folder to help us to check it out. This is very helpful for us. I have learned a lot from him, and Illtake his class this fall.
Prof. Lee clectures clearly and methodically in his class. He shows us the best way to solve out problems, and he discusses the details clearly. He helps students to build the real mathematical thinking for future, not only passing the class. He is the best professor in ccsf. I enjoy his class and learn a lot from him. Ill take his class again.
Lee is a great professor. It is unfair for Lee for some peers who are not responsible for themselves to say somethings untrue here to hurt him. They dont want do hw then blame there is too much hw. They are spoiled like an infant that they should have A with doing nothing. If not, they say you are too difficult. They are in playground not college.
Prof. Lee's class was my first college level math class. Yes, students say his class is difficult and rigorous. So people avoid taking his class. Obviously, I am not good at math, but I challenged myself, spent many hours at the math lab. Result? Passed with A+, learned invaluable and foundational knowledge about Calculus. Thank you Professor Lee
Makes this class way harder than it needs to be. I spend about 8-10 hours per week at least for homework. He rushes his lectures so it is not clear. His notes aren't that helpful either because it doesn't explain everything. Overall, this class is a challenge.
Prof. Lee is a wonderful teacher. He comes to class prepared and his lecture are very clear. Also he gives a lot of feedback on his homework so you have a lot of time in improvement. I have learned a lot from Mr. Lee both in class and outside of class. I am statistics major and he gave me advice with regrading statistics as a career option.
Of ALL the professors, Mr. Lee and Mr. Armstrong are the two best instructors I've had at CCSF and beyond. If you care about science & not go through the motion, Mr. Lee holds the standard. If you do your homework, put in the time to review, "have grit," and most of all practice, and not blow off opportunities, you will get a good grade.
He obviously knows his stuff. However, he assigns an insane amount of homework. Definitely worth taking if you have enough time. If you're taking multiple classes and working though? Avoid. You. Will. Not. Have. Time.
Professor Lee goes beyond the curriculum, in a great way. He teaches comprehension, so if you are planning on memorizing a bunch of formulas to get through then not the best choice for you. His passion for Calculus is apparent. If you open your mind and put in the work, you'll experience the true beauty of calculus.
Professor Lee definitely has a deeper understanding of the content, and sometimes digresses in a way that clearly shows his passion for the subject. The way he explains math is in a very unconventional, yet somehow understandable and engaging way. As for homework, as long as you keep up and seek help when needed, you should do well in his class.
Definitely a rigorous course, even for Statistics. Since professor lee likes to teach the calculations by hand, class was structured in a way that calculators were not needed. Homework is a bit tedious and takes up a significant amount of time. My advice is to do a couple problems a day and not to cram! Overall, he's a knowledgeable professor!!!
four tests plus final, test grade is based on grade distribution of all students. Easy A if you do all your hwk. I missed a lot of classes but i did all my work still passed all my tests and hwk with A's. The last chapter was beyond this class in my opinion, but we did not really have it in the final.
Difficult math class and lots of hw! Professor Lee is nice and cracks a couple jokes here and there but the way he teaches is unconventional. Let's just say we didn't use calculators.
Ted's lectures and notes are inspirational.I don't think I'd had majored in Math without him. Ted might make you work hard but it's so enjoyable that you won't feel it's work!
He knows his material really well, but he goes off tangent for most of the class time talking about how this is calculus and not algebra (etc. etc.). He spends literally MOST of the lecture time talking about filler information rather than teaching. He knows his stuff, but he assigns WAY too much hw. CAn't pass class if you don't do hw or know calc
If youre pursuing a science major I would definitely recommend him. He gives you more material than what other teachers would, but also get ready to do double the work!!
When doing examples on the board, it feels like he is solving the problem by himself rather than with the class. He runs out of time often during and rushes through examples in the last 10 mins of class. Homework is optional but he will grade it pretty harsh for you to learn.
Prof Lee is highly knowledgable - his homework problems always extend the material to other areas of math and science, so just doing the homework will introduce you to many concepts and ideas not specific to the material, which is great. There is a significant amount of homework, and many of the problems are quite hard. Prof Lee is a stickler.
Mr. Lee is by far one of the best professors I've met in ccsf. His lectures are super clear and the notes are awesome. Homework takes hours to finish but it helps you understand the concepts better. 4 tests and 1 final, homework grade can replace the lowest test grade. His classes prepare you well for your future classes. Highly recommended!
Professor Lee may have been a great teacher before COVID-19, but he's the COMPLETE OPPOSITE when it comes to an online class. His class is asynchronous yet gives TONS of work material without much clarity of his grading criteria. He is also a late grader, VERY disorganized with all his material, and rejects live-lectures despite OUR DEMANDS for it!
He does not teach at all and his grading for assignments is unbelievable for someone who does not teach he may have been a good teacher in person but not online because he does not know how to use zoom also if you think you are ready for this type of class than take it otherwise do not take his class unless you feel ready
Mr. Lee seems nice, but he has no business leading an online class if he's incapable of adapting to it. His grading is too strict considering HE DOESN'T TEACH. If anything he makes it harder to learn. His HW and tests require mastery of the material. He has very specific ways he wants you to do problems, but his notes are an unintelligible mess.
I'm not sure how he would be in class, but during COVID I had a very bad experience with him. No lectures were held at all, and any question I had for him led to him directing me to some question on the packet he gave out. He was very unclear on how he wanted homework assignments to be completed, and I had to drop the class.
All HW must be PDF zip, and no late work(if accepted 3 to 5 points are reduced pending on HW/test). No Lecture and will hand you over his notes and assume you fully grasp it by the next Test when shown. Asking questions are pointless because the answers he gives are not clear. And on revision on HW is more confusing than reviewing his notes.
This guy is a GEM of the ccsf math department, inspired me to be a math major. HW is the hardest thing I've ever done prepare for late nights. Go to office hours, he will always help as much as he can. Tests are doable, HW is the hardest and most valuable part. Uses the textbook, but his notes are amazing and will help you deal with the HW.
His class is hard but for a good reason. He wants his students to be prepared for calculus. I took precalculus three times but his homeworks have been the hardest ones so far. They really make you think and be careful and he really wants you to understand the concepts. If you really want to learn math, I suggest taking his classes
If you want to be prepared for future math classes, take Mr. Lee, if not I would go with another professor. On average, I spent about two hours a day doing hw for this class, half of which I was unable to solve. However during office hours, you can ask for help and he will write it all out. So long as you do all the hw, the tests are very doable.
Professor Lee is a very difficult teacher. I can respect him for being very knowledgeable within Calculus, and I believe he is an amazing teacher on campus, but the online setting is completely different (extremely rigorous). If you're not proficient in Calc nor taking math-related courses after this, I strongly recommend taking someone else.
As others say, Mr. Lee is very knowledgeable when it comes to Calculus. Despite this, I wouldn't recommend this course to anyone who doesn't have loads of free time. Mr. Lee assigns an over-the-top amount of HW which is very difficult and graded for accuracy. Very difficult to manage the workload if you have multiple classes or activities. Too much
Like most of the other comments, Mr. Lee is very skilled in math. However, he is a tough grader. Nearly half the class dropped by the end of the semester, and the remaining half is struggling in just Calculus I. I can't imagine what it would be like to take him for higher level courses such as Calculus 2, Calculus 3, and Linear Algebra.
If you want to open up your eyes for Math, take Lee. I never knew Math so well until I took his class. Everything becomes sparkling clear, and it will prepare you for your life about understanding Math and the world. Personally, I think it is like a once in a life time chance to be able to have lectures from Mr. Lee. Amazing is the word.
I took Mr. Lee for 110B in Fall 2023 and 110C in Spring 2024. I'd have to say my understanding of math has never been greater. The tests can be challenging, but very doable given you study the practice tests diligently. He can go very in depth with the topics he's teaching, and probably has the greatest intuition of math of anyone I've seen.
His lectures are very concise and clear, and he is very passionate about them. Often at the end of the lecture his hands would be pitch black from erasing the board. His grading consists 6 items: HW grade, 4 test grades, and the final grade. Tests are challenging but he gives you practice tests. If you do good on the hw it will replace a lower test
Mr. Lee is like really knowledgeable in math. Like, REALLLLY. Like many others said, he is a harsh grader in general but teaches really well. His notes are also really good, definitely can use for review in the future. He does run out of time usually in lectures also. Overall not bad prof, would take again for calc 3 if I could
Professor Lee teaches with a unique approach, providing extensive material that requires diligent study. While the workload can be demanding, students who engage with the content and utilize resources like unstuck study find the course rewarding. The tests are challenging but manageable with proper preparation.
Mr Lee acquires the real mathematical knowledge. He try to lead us to play with formula and number, rather than just solving the question with brute force. He often open the door and take us into deepest mathematical realm. I very grateful him for teaching me so many tricky to attack the difficult mathematical problems.
He is the best teacher I've ever had. He changed my perspective on mathematics.
if you want to grasp math and are willing to take responsibility for your homework, his class is worth taking. After taking his class, I realized that I didn't truly understand math; I had merely memorized some concepts. But after his class, I genuinely understood the subject matter. And please, students, take his math 130 class; it's fantastic!
This is probably THE most in-depth teacher you'll ever meet. His teachings are meticulous and info heavy. He's also very heavy on the homework and grades with a sharp eye. His class isn't for the faint of hearts, but you will gain a HUGE understanding in the subject once you get going. Also don't intentionally skip his classes, you'll fall behind.
I feel so lucky to have met him. He played a pivotal role in transforming my perspective on mathematics. After transferring from community college, I realized that I was significantly ahead of most university students. His class, Math 130, not only solidified my foundation in mathematics but also prepared me to become a true scientist.
Your grade is based off: Your HW, 4 Exams, 1 Final. His grading is unique. His description of the grading system seems nice, but you must adapt fast to his grading style. He is an incredibly strict grader. The worst part is he can't hold himself to his own standards, and had to make the final and another exam on the same day. Do not slack off
I EARNED AN A!!!! He gave me a B. I'd love to actually ask him to prove what he teaches. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! You're set up to fail. Class was full, ended up with 6 students. I'd like to see him pass his tests in the allotted time he gives!!!
I took Mr. Lee for both Math 110B and 110C. The weekly homework is pretty tough, which usually takes me around 3 days to complete, putting in 3 hours each day. But I don't regret taking his class because as an engineering major, I felt like I learned a lot and very thoroughly.
I took Mr. Lee for Math 110B, 110C, and 130. Although there is a lot of homework, most of it is based on the handouts he gives in class and they are very well planned towards the benefit of the student to do it. His lectures were very in depth and his understanding of the topics are obviously very deep. He also sometimes likes telling life stories.
If you want to learn math and make a living out of it u should take this class. If u need good grades to transfer to other uni this class is not for you DONT EVER take this class!!!!!
The most difficult math professor in city college. If you want to know deep learning about math you should take. Otherwise, grade down to C and a lot of homework ,every week like 20-30 problems and tough grade for both homework and tests. I got one wrong in 20 problems he gave me 20 out of 35 wt????
