She's amazing and super smart! However, if you're aiming for an A, it's 80% lecture and 20% slides. Since she doesn't teach by slides, get ready to zip through 400 of 'em. But honestly, I wouldn't trade her for any other professors because what she teaches, you'll apply it all throughout your career as a nurse. I would definitely take her again.

Here is someone who can really teach. I have learned more from her in one course then all of my years at school. She is so fun. Everyone looks forward to going to her class. Be prepared to not sleep. Make sure whatever you do take her for pathophysiology she will do anything to get you through

T Hurd is dynamic and expects you to come to class prepared. I have taken 2 grad classes from her and she knows how to bring concepts to practice like no other. Be prepared to read the textbook before class so you don't get lost and aren't one to ask ridiculous questions.

Dr. Hurd is inspirational and makes you want to be a great nurse. She is entertaining in her lectures and makes you pay attention by randomly calling on students. She is not organized though, she does not stick to the syllabus and is constantly making up new assignments. She also does not use ppts so her lectures are often confusing to follow

She is really the best. You can ask her any question and she knows the answer. Class is engaging. Unlike other professors she doesn't read from powerpoints but actually takes very hard concepts and makes them easy-she is awesome take her whenever you can.

If you take Hurd you won't just learn the material, you will understand it. I have never had a professor who teaches as well as she does. Don't expect to pass the course if you skip any classes though, you need to pay attention closely (which isn't that hard because she makes the content interesting and she is hilarious)

The best professor I've had. Never understood what it meant to actually learn from a professor. Teaches you the content and is willing to stick with a hard topic for as long as it takes. Not only does she teach the material, but she teaches how things work and how things are linked. You'll walk out of her class and retain what you learned, with a good grade too!

AMAZING! One of the only professors at D'Youville that advocates for the students. She does not get caught up in the politics of the school and actually cares and listens to concerns. A lot of bad professors that do not listen to student concerns once further along in the program. Would not recommend going to D'Youville when Professor Hurd retires.

She is semi-organized. She gives interesting lectures. However if you don't show up to class, she won't give you any help. Her tests are pretty easy, but you still have to review her lecture points. Focus on what she says during lecture and that will be more than likely on the exam.

Dr Hurd is not only the most intelligent professor i have every had-the comments are correct she cares beyond anyone there. If you attend class and work with her you will always pass not matter what if you do not she will not do the work for you. Her lectures are amazing most of us strive to be half of the nurse she is!

Hurd is so smart and gives great advice. Her classes are extremely important for nursing and she does a good job teaching you what you need to know, but they are not easy classes. It is not mandatory to go to class but you really miss out if you don't show up because she mainly tests on what she lectures about in class.
