Very hard, her study guides have nothing to do with her exams, and she is very unorganized
Terry is one of the best science profs I have ever had. Yes she has high expectations and her exams are tough - but you will learn a lot. She has more energy than any prof ever and she will do everything she can to help you out if you seek help. Overall she rocks - take her class if you want to learn, but avoid her if you want an easy A.
Best teacher I've ever had. VERY helpful, easy to confront, absolutely loves teaching and the subject she teaches. She makes physiology such an exciting topic. I actually like going to the class to hear everything she has to say. I've recommended her to everyone I know taking it. Definitely take her if you want to succeed & understand everything!
Horrible instructor. Her tests are not in alignment with the information that she teaches us. If you love physiology, then take it with another instructor or you will learn to hate it. such a shame. Also if you ask for help on studying..etc expect to get a non productive answer.
Terry one of the kindest teachers I have ever met. She is always there to answer questions. She makes the class exciting and relates everything to everyday life so you are actually learning something and applying it. This class is not easy though. You need to put in a lot of time and studying. Terri will be there for you if you need help.
She is FANTASTIC! Sure her tests were hard but no homework & lab quizzes were a breeze! I never wanted to leave this class! I would take it again if I needed to! She is passionate & loves about physiology! She makes it interesting and keep's you engaged. Take it if you're willing to work hard & if you want to understand & love physiology!
Worst teacher I've ever had at Harper! She super strict about everything it almost seems like she doesn't want to help you pass the class! She teaches more material than what she's suppose to or what the course requires! Her tests are hard and make no sense! She puts students down by saying her tests are easy because a few people managed to get A's. Avoid signing up for this teacher!
Extremely difficult class.
DONT TAKE HER!!!!!!!! TEST ARE SUPER HARD.. AND VERY STRICT.. TAKE SANDRA KRELINING
Dont ever take her!! EVER!!!! she way too hard on exams, wont help you and makes you feel dumb!!!! Hey power points dont correlate with her exams!!! TAKE SOMEONE ELSE!!!
Honestly, I like her as a person. She is very nice. However, she is also very naive. She tends to displace the blame of poorly written tests (full of trick questions) on the students. Her answer to everything is to "study harder." Her lectures are MANDITORY and you won't get credit even if you're 30 seconds late. I wouldn't recommend her.
I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS TEACHER!Her exams are way too difficult to understand. While she is teaching everything she said makes sense, but when you take the exams none of the questions are clear, and even when 58 students got F and 29 got D, she will not curve it.
TAKE ANOTHER TEACHER!!!Theresa Kong formally known as Theresa Wusterbarth will make you hate physiology. Her exams are too hard, her lectures are mandatory and even if you are 30 seconds late, you will not be allow to take the test. More than 60% of the class fail. And if you decide to take this class with her , be ready to study for hours.
As a person, she's very nice. But as a teacher, she's not too great. Her lectures make sense when she's explaining the topic, but when it comes to her exam, she'll test you like as if you have had tons of physiology classes. Her exams are difficult especially when they are full of trick questions. I suggest going with a different teacher.
THIS TEACHER MAKES THIS CLASS REALLY HARD TO PASS IT. HER EXAMS ARE EXTREMELLY CONFUSING AND HARD. CURRENTLY MORE THAN 60% OF HER CLASS FAILED THE PAST THREE LECTURE EXAMS. FIND ANOTHER TEACHER. YOU CANT BE ONE MINUTE LATE TO CLASS BECAUSE YOU LOOSE POINTS. HARPER NEEDS TO FIND ANOTHER TEACHER FOR THIS CLASS.
DO NOT TAKE HER..... very diffcult her tests do not match up with what she is explaining in class.. do not take her youll regret it..
Prof. Kong is a highly engaged and committed professor. She does an excellent job of explaining the material and is willing to spend as much time necessary with students to help them. Although many of the more immature students complain about her test, it is typically because they don't study enough. There are many easy parts of class (like lab).
You can get by without book. All info is given in PowerPoint lectures. You have to go to class if you want to take online hw (3 pts/lecture....super easy) LAB TESTS AND QUIZZES SO EASY. LECTURE EXAMS ARE NEAR impossible. Study and you'll be fine! No curve and 50% of the class gets Fs and Ds...I got an A though! She's SUPER nice and helpful!!! Hard!
Totally unhelpful and inconsiderate. Gave me poor advice and was misleading. Didn't help me just kept referring me to somebody who then didn't respond. Don't need the book just go to class.
Very unhelpful and not very flexible. Resources she gave me for my problem was inadequate and didn't help me at all. Exams are made to be very hard and you need to study everything over and over. Multiple attempts seeking help ended up with no resolution/help on her end. Avoid her if you can.
Terri Kong is one of the best teachers I've had the privilege of taking at Harper. If you aren't willing to work hard, she is not the teacher for you. If you want to really learn phys and apply yourself, take her! She puts in 110% and expects you to as well. She REALLY knows her stuff and is energetic and clear in lecture. She's the real deal.
Prof Kong is a very good teacher and yes A LOT of studying needs to go into this course in order to pass. Thats a given, but this is a PRE REC course NOT a master level course Kong! Her exams are impossible to pass. She doesn't care about your grade at all! She tries to trick you and her questions impossible. Has no heart to want students to pass
Terri's an incredible teacher. Her energy and explanations keep you focused and give you a desire to attend class. Her lecture tests are very hard, so this is a difficult class. Time and dedication is required, but it's possible. Just know her powerpoints thoroughly and read a physiology book to guide you.Take her! It's worth the struggle
Terri is a great teacher! She is the most helpful teacher I have ever had at Harper. You can tell she loves teaching physiology. She explains everything very well, is very helpful, and approachable. Attendance is mandatory to take the quizzes & test questions come right from her power points. Easy as long as you study.
Terry is a great person and makes the class fun but her tests are ridiculous! Even with studying at least an hour per day, I got a D on all but one of my exams. She's great at explaining things in lecture but her exams are full of trick questions and sometimes don't correlate with lecture.
Terri is one of the best professors I have had so far. She was a great professor to have at 8AM because she is full of energy and excited about what she teaches. Lectures are mandatory but her tests are based on the notes she gives in class. I didn't use the book at all. She is very approachable and explains things until she is sure you understand.
She is awesome! She has great energy and is so passionate about the subject. She makes learning fun and interesting. I have yet to take a test, but after her thorough explanations I am not worried at all. EXCELLENT TEACHER!
took terrie over the summer and this class is HARD!and it should not be easy as it is a base class if you want to go in to the medical field. her tests are super hard but her lectures are the best ive ever had unfortunately i didnt do too good on her lecture exams and missed the B she loves physio! and has great energy im retaking this class wither
She is a great teacher but her tests are insane! Also, she has this sign in sheet for each lecture. The sheet always gets stuck somewhere in the classroom. If you forget to sign in, you will lose the 3 points for the lecture quiz. She doesn't allow you to sign in after lecture.
Quite possibly the BEST professor at Harper!!! She is super intelligent, super awesome and super helpful. I wish I could take all my classes with her. Her tests are HARD, but she'll make you love physiology! If you email her, you can expect a reply back fast...even on weekends. Very approachable and always willing to help! Take her!!!
I loved coming to her classes. She makes Physiology so interesting to learn. She is very smart and has lots of energy! The class consists of tests and quizzes. Her lecture exams are SUPER HARD!The questions on the tests are tricky and it seemed like some of the stuff on the test was never discussed in class!I studied for weeks and still failed :(
omg this class is impossible to pass. her test are the hardest test i have ever came across in my college years. Would ask for help and her reply would be "study" DO NOT TAKE HER. although she is a great speaker and her lectures are great her test are impossible
Terri is a great teacher and really does care about her students. The class is hard but not impossible. She is there to help all the time. I don't know why other reviews complain about her, she really knows her physiology! My one tip for anybody taking her: don't be lazy, actually study!
Terrie is the best physiology professor Harper has!! this is a weed out class do NOT expect it to be easy. her exams are very hard and have an essay portion to them, this really helps you understand the concepts. do the work and itll pay off i received an A with no problem STUDY! and attend lecture the book is useless dont bother buying it, use ppt
Terri is an awesome professor. One of the best Harper has. I agree with the other student's comments, her lecture exams are very hard. You will learn a lot from this class that will be applied to real-life. Highly recommend her.
Terri is without a doubt the best professor I have had at Harper. She always available and will help you until you get it. Her tests are extremely difficult because she wants you to apply the material to real life situations, which makes sense, and that is what I had trouble with. She made this class so much fun! I will be retaking it with her.
Terri is super nice and very approachable! She is a great teacher at 8am! She's really excited about teaching Physiology! I'm glad I took her class!
Terri is the BEST professor! I absolutely love coming to her class, she makes every concept in physiology easy to understand. Although, her test questions are a little tricky sometimes. Gives a lot of real life examples and excited to teach!!! Highly recommended teacher.
Take her course! She is tough but she really knows how to teach and if you really take in her class you will learn more than what you paid for. Most of her students are interested in nursing and she really knows how to discipline and strengthen their skills. Great Professor! Amazing Person! Knows her stuff!
I am so glad I took Professor Kong and highly recommend her. Her enthusiasm for the subject will engage your interest and excite your learning senses. She is nice and helpful to her students! Physiology exams will all be hard, but she will give you what you need to get an A, you just have to do the work and study a lot. Happy learning!
The best professor at Harper. Her tests are extremely difficult but she doesn't pretend like they're not. Her lectures are amazing and her power points are very well organized and easy to understand. Many people fail her exams, but it's more than possible to get a B or higher. Plus, the lab exams are super easy so they are a great grade boost :)
Terri is a great teacher with a lot of enthusiasm and a clear love for physiology. The exams are difficult but she gives you all the material needed to get an A. Her power points and the information said in class are the only material that is on the exams. Do not bother to buy the book it is not needed for the class.
I would recommend Terri to everyone! She has so much knowledge and is so excited to teach! The class is difficult but you are given all the resources you need to be successful. If you put the effort forth, it will pay off and be a really enjoyable and rewarding class.
I took this class over the summer so be ready to be very busy. With that being said, she's an amazing teacher, she makes you think about how the stuff you're learning will actually influence your life and others... Tests are hard and specific but she's great about answering questions and making sure you understand the material.
The tests are hard but she is very smart and clearly loves to teach
Terri is an amazing professor! Her exams are tough but if you pay attention and study everyday you should not have a problem in her class. You get to learn so much in her class. She's very passionate at what she does. I would recommend her to anyone in a heartbeat!
She is extremely hard but such a great teacher. She's one to sit down and give you all the time you need. She explains things in such great detail but you need to study 4 hours A DAY! Make index cards for lectures and then they are easy, if you study enough. lab exams are hard, she picks the ones she thinks you didn't study for. It's a FULL TIME JOB
You will work for your grade, but it will be worth it. Terri is an amazing instructor; sharp, funny, and excited about her subject. She presents information in a clear concise manner - great lectures! Yes the tests are hard, and yes, you need to study regularly if you want that "A", but you walk away from this class really knowing your stuff!
Terri is the best teacher I have EVER had! I recommend taking her 8am class, she is very enthusiastic and makes every lecture very interesting. I never used the textbook, all you need to know is in her PowerPoints. She is extremely educated and knows her stuff very well. I would HIGHLY recommend taking her! Thanks for an awesome semester Terri!!!
Terri is a great teacher. She's very knowledgable and clearly loves teaching. She's always enthusiastic and willing to help. The material is hard in general so it requires a lot of studying. Lecture exams are hard but lab exams are easy. You can get easy points from weekly quizzes. Just study a lot and you'll do great!
Every post you've read for Terri is almost true. She loves to teach. She will help you out. She provides the review exam guides and power points and dissections for the lab. Although... The tests are extremely hard. Questions are worded to throw you off. You absolutely need to study every night 100%. No slacking off at all. Study study study. GL!
I love Terri, she is an amazing teacher. Her energy is always bouncing off the walls. Her lectures are interesting. No book. Everything on tests is form the ppt. Her lecture tests are killers, and i mean that in a bad way. They are so hard. You will have to study for at least 2 hours every night. Her lab quizzes are easy, lab test are fairly easy.
Terri is probably one of the best professors I've ever had! This class is tough. It requires you to pay attention and study! Her lectures are full of great information and she explains tough concepts so that you can understand. She LOVES questions too so don't be shy. I've never seen someone so passionate about their field. Take her class!!!
Terri is the best! Physiology isn't an easy subject, but she breaks it down to simplicity as much as possible. You must watch lectures (if online section)/attend lectures to succeed. Tests are straight from lecture powerpoints and get harder as the semester goes on. Perform well in the beginning so you have extra cushion room later!
Terri is amazing, so energetic and full of life! She makes you think about physiology in terms of real life situations. It won't be an easy A by any means but she is by far one of the best professors i've had at harper!
Terry is amazing! You can learn so much from her. Her lectures are so fun that you don't wanna miss it. You don't need to read the book to pass; she gets all her questions from the power point handouts and the little information she adds in each topics. I definitely recommend her! If you really want to learn and not just pass you have to take TERRY
If you like the kind of teacher who throws in many trick questions on tests, take Terri. She often goes off on tangents in lectures making it difficult to stay focused on learning material. Terri is very knowledgable in physiology, but presents material as though she is teaching an advanced course, not an entry level physiology class.
Had her for physiology and loved her. She's full of energy and if you're taking an early class she will keep you awake. She knows what she's talking about and uses real life situations as examples to help you understand better. It's a tough class but very interesting. You NEED to study for any physiology class. Study a lot & you will be fine.
Terri is really tough grader.
OMG it's impossible to get A even after hard work. She's helpful so ask her question but she's always busy so your answer would be "study hard''
She asks very tricky question. Have to memorize and write down copy to copy as her power point lecture that's why hard for student. I am doing good in all class except this so it's below my expectation.
It is impossible to get A . She boosts everyone to study but everyone is not same like her. Work very hard and try your best.
Attendence is MANDATORY! extremely difficult to get an A. The essay questions on the exams are very specific and she grades harshly on them. My toughest class in college by far. She is very nice and encourages everyone to study for hours everyday. Does not give extra credit and no rounding
extremely tough essay grader. Does not give extra credit and only solution is to "study harder"
Terri wants everything in detail same as her lectures. Never take her class.
Terri wants everything in detail . She's hardworking but strict in grading. Never take her.
Please never take her class in Fall. I prepared everything hard working, group study , tutoring center still cannot get good grade
You should take her class. She is always ready to boost you.
Terri is hard working. Do not get misunderstanding that she is hard . Success is not only depend on teacher but our great efforts of students are also necessary foe A. I recommended you to take her. She is knowledgeable.
Take her class she is always ready to boost you. She is busy because she is hard working. Terri is enthusiastic, intelligent teacher.
Terri is really helpful. I love her class. Do not misunderstand that she is hard.
I enjoyed her class. Boost your confidence by taking her.
Tough Grader! Skip class won't pass. She is smart and definitely has knowledge, but she expects you to study like if you were going for your PHD. Hard class.
She is the toughest grader I have ever seen. Her exams are extremely hard and it's extremely hard to get an A. Quizzes don't have clear answers and you have to write short essay and long essay in each lecture exam!
Dont take this class with her. She has knowledge but she is a tough grader and ask to write essays on her Exams !!!
Terri is the best professor I have ever had! A physiology class is going to be hard no matter who your professor is.. you have to be willing to put in the work to pass. Terri is super passionate about the course material which makes it fun and engaging to learn from her. She is also super understanding and responsive!
Terri is an AMAZING professor! Whatever reason you take Phys is probably because you're going into the medical field, which means you'll have tough profs. and tougher exams following BIO161. Terri prepares you so you're ready to continue as well as you can. Yes, tests are hard but you'll get out what ya put in. Don't be afraid to challenge yourself
Took this course during summer online. She is full of energy and always willing to help very clear on rules and syllabus. You must read, and listen to lectures most of them are anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour and thirty. Summer course goes by very very fast. Your really need to treat this class like a full job but you will learn a lot!
she is absolutely amazing, she makes you work for your grades and is always willing to help if necessary.
she is an extremely strict teacher. It is almost impossible to pass. Attendance is mandatory in order to take quizes. Exams are horrible with essay questions. do not take her
Terri is the best teacher I have had in college. She is very enthusiastic. If you want to be well prepared for a health career, she builds a knowledge foundation that you need to excel. Her expectation is you study like CRAZY (you should be if you are going into healthcare anyways!) and "do better every day." She is awesome. I would easily retake!!
I took this course as a prerequisite for bachelor degree in nursing at Loyola. I continued with a masters in nursing. Her physiology course with her amazing lectures was one of the most important building blocks and foundational to my success in school and the clinic. Yes, it is a lot of work but comparable to other nursing courses for a BA. Study.
Very difficult class. She gives you way more information to study on your own time without explaining it. Has a tendency of treating student as if they where in grade school. Horrible!
