Best lab ever! She doesn't really care if you don't do the experiment perfectly, she'll help you out and tell you what was supposed to happen. Lab reports are so easy! She emails you all the information ahead of time. If you have to miss a lab for some reason she will work it out with you and try to get you into another lab class. Take her!

If you can, take her course! She is easily one of the best professors I've had. She is very thorough and explains things until you understand it. She will do whatever she can to help you out and is very understanding. Also, she lets you out once you finish so you are in and out of class in no time.

She is very clear and goes over things multiple times so you really understand what you are doing. She is also fair when it comes to test taking, meaning if she thinks something is tricky, chances are she won't put it on the test. Lastly, she's just the best chemistry teacher you could ever get.

Easy grader, and before each exam she makes a practice exam that's practically the same as the actual exam. 1000/10 absolutely recommend. She is my favorite teacher so far.

My favorite professor at QU so far. Lectures are extremely interactive and use a workbook. Lots of group work in class. Lots of homework assigned, but it is not checked or graded so you only have to do it if you feel you need the practice. Extra credit on every exam and she prepares you EXTREMELY well for the exams. Absolute sweetheart.

Professor Luersen is the best! Her class is easy but beneficial. It is totally based on nursing and she bases the lectures off of medical case studies. She is a great professor and it is impossible to do well because of the depth in which she explains things. Lots of examples, group work, and worksheets! TAKE HER!

Never used the textbook. Do Sapling for homework, but she pushes the deadlines back. Easy material, but she'll help you understand it if you need help. The tests are just like her practice tests. You just fill out the workbook in class, which can get boring.

Absolutely loved Professor Luersen. Struggled with in high school and passed this class with an A. Never used textbook. Homework is only online and is extremely easy. Tests are based on practice tests and have extra credit. Never got less than 100 on the tests.

Luersen is who you want for Lab. Labs are short and easy, and then 1 lab report per week. They are extremely easy and if you need help you can email your lab reports to her to review before they are due which really helped me. Final is almost the same as the study guide. Don't buy lab notebook, never used it (but you need lab manual).

One of the nicest teachers I've ever had, super helpful and clear about what she expects and what's on the tests. If you show up to class and do the review sheets she gives you, you'll pass with flying colors because the tests are literally different versions of the review sheets but same types of problems.

Such an amazing professor! Chem is a hard subject for me but I was able to succeed in this class. If you understand how to do the review tests you'll do fine since they are very similar, and she gives a lot of partial credit. Doesn't take attendance in class however you'll want to go to class to understand how to do the problems

Tells you exactly what to do in lab. Gives you guidelines for every single lab report. Willing to look at your lab report and give you feedback before you hand it in. She wants you to do well. Great professor, and an even better person!!!!

A straightforward woman, with a strong determination to help her students succeed. She always tried to use simple methods when explaining something complex and always emphasized her availability outside of class. Luersen gives out extra-credit like candy, trying to bump up your grades whenever possible. She doesn't check and barely gives homework.

I had her for nursing chemistry, it is easier than honors high school chemistry. She is enthusiastic about chemistry and is a phenomenal teacher; straight forward, lets you know exactly what's on the test, and is extremely lenient. She also hands out extra credit on all of the three tests, which are very easy.

she has a 5/5 for a reason. such a sweet person and was not expecting the class to be so easy. does a great job at explaining the material and provides you with worksheets that are optional to do for extra practice. I recommend doing the worksheets to help you study for the exams.

Not gonna lie, if you took a rigorous chem class in high school, you wont need to pay attention in this class. dead easy. I slept thru almost all the classes and I still got above a 100 on the tests. I cant speak to how good Luersen is because it was so easy, but from the classes I was awake for she was great. Do take her!

Easiest chem course ever. The grade was based on tests and online homework, but you always got a practice test and she was always available. Skipped a bunch of classes and got an A easily.

I enjoyed her class because she focused on ensuring that all of the students understood the material and she sets everyone up for success. A work book was used in almost every class, and her tests were almost clones of the practice tests that we would complete in class.

Communications major here who took this as my science credit over the summer - DO IT. This class was so easy. You do have to buy the textbook/connect code but all the assignments were super easy/open note and you got multiple chances at almost all of them. Barely had any problems but when I did I got super quick responses. Can't recommend enough.

Professor Luersen is very kind to her students. She is always available to meet with students outside of class during her office hours. Her tests are not too difficult as long as you study. There were online homeworks but they were never too extensive. My favorite professor by far!

While test grades make up the vast majority of your grade, she lays out all needed info in the study guides and really helps to prepare students for tests.

Professor Luersen's lecture was the first time I ever understood chemistry in my life. Her slides are amazing and the way she teaches just sticks to you. She is always able to help, and is super nice. On top of that every test you get a cheat sheet so it made the class 10x better. Love her!

I took my science elective in the summer, and the class was very easy. Maybe 2 hours of work per week for a 7 week online class. I'm not a health science major and would recommend this class for anyone who isn't one either.

Very accessible outside of class, responds to emails quickly + has multiple office hours. Easy exams too, what's on the practice exam is on the actual exam. Professor Luersen's Chem 106 class was great!!. Her lectures can be boring but they are super clear and she is really good at making sure you understand the information. She always has office hours so if you are struggling you can go to her for help. I would definitely take her class again!!

She is amazing! The labs were never the full 3 hours, and they were not too difficult. You have to do a pre-lab worksheet, which is pretty easy and a lab report every single week. Sh simple, and she allows you to email it to her prior to submission and gives feedback. The final was exactly like the study guide.

Professor Leursen is the absolute BEST. From her personalized textbooks and clear teaching to her kindness and accomodations, she truly was everything I could have asked for. She held tons of office hours, She was extremely attentive and always responded fast. She lets us use the back of a periodic table for notes to use on exams. 100/10 recommend.

Professor Luersen is great, being very clear with all expectations and topics covered. If you have any trouble understanding don't be afraid to ask a question in class. If you are still having trouble, she is extremely available outside of class as well. With the cheat sheets allowed during tests, the class is very passable.

Fantastic. Posts lecture videos online that are extremely clear and tell you everything you need to know. Almost all assignments are graded by best attempt. Even if you go into this class not caring at all you will come out of it seriously versed in the topic and have interest in it.
