While Theresa seems like a very sweet person, doesn't teach only presents
Very knowledgeable and easy to deal with. Seems to love tough questions. Real class college type.
Might just be the only real University-level class on campus. The class is super-tough, but Theresa loves answering questions and helping you learn. If you're gonna transfer to a hard university, take this class to get an idea of what it's like.
i think because i took bonehead bio, she made made the course easy so students would be able to pass (for all us non-science majors). it wasnt super easy, but not impossible. she's willing to answer questions..
She talks all class long aahhhaahhh, She's really hard if your a laid-back person. Like everyone else says, she's a univ. type teacher.
she is TOUGH, but I learned soooo much from her class. She is always willing to answer questions, but be prepared for challenging class.
theresa is an awesome teacher... she spends extra time with her students to explain anything they do not understand. though her lectures are hard to follow since she speaks pretty fast the level of clarity is just awesome.
awesome teacher spens tons of time explaiang hard to understand concepts.... lectures are LONG AND BORING and she talks hella fast but the information is very very well taught
Very diffibult lecture tests.
Theresa's lectures can be long and sometimes boring but you must pay very good attention because she is very detailed on her lecture tests. You must be prepared to give this class your 100% in order to succeed in it. There's hardly any homework but TONS of memorization!!
she is a very nice person, but rambles on about too much stuff in one sitting that is irrelevent on tests. Her tests are all multiple choice and most of it is tricky and not from lecture. Be sure to study at least for 5 days before test comes because there is THAT much material to memorize! Beware!
She's very nice. Interesting lectures. Not a lot of hw and you have a week to complete it. No final but you have to complete an easy poster project. Her tests aren't hard as long as you take good notes, which shouldn't be a problem since she writes everything down.

ARE YOU SURE WITH THIS PROFESSER THAT SHE GIVES ALL OF YOU STRAIGHT A THAT IS HER JOKE SHE WILL GIVE YOU GRADE C D F GRADE SO I EXPECT TO DROP HER CLASS NOW FOR THE SPRING SEMESTER SO BE AWARE THAT SHE CAN GIVE YOU AN GRADE C D F GRADE SO I EXPECT ALL OF YOU TO DROP IT NOW BEFOR SHE GIVE YOU AN F
Theresa is a wonderful professor. I do admitt that this class is very challenging but by the way she teaches, she makes this class interesting, & fun by telling her personal stories which relates to Anatomy. Tests are hard, but fair! Just study your stuff & Make time for Lab hours. She will help yo
This is a challenging course and would require you to spend a lot of time studying outside the classroom and spending a lot of time in lab. If you can't commit a lot of time for one class, I suggest take it with another teacher.
this class was really hard and taking theresa helped me SOO much althought she does spend an awful lot of time explaiang things you STILL NEED TO READ AND UNDERSTAND ON YOUR OWN!!! lots of reading and understanding hard to understand concepts. but she helps
Great teacher, cares alot about her students.
I really like her. She is organized and is always willing to help. I have never studied so hard in my whole life but it was soooo worth it. I would take her for every science class if i could. Take her!!! she's great
Great teacher.Anatomy is very hard, but also a very interesting class. Of course you have to work hard to get a good grade, but that's why you are in school.I recommend to take the class, just because you will learn soo much.Teresa is very helpful. She will anwer all your questions
She is a good teacher. I've taken many science classes at same county colleges, so I can say the class is not hard and not easy (just right!)
This class rivals university level, so bring your brain. So much material, so little time. She's EXTREMELY organized with her lecture. She doesn't bend or break for grades. It'll prepare you for CSU and UC classes. If you can't handle it...leave.
I thought that she was a great teacher! She is very nice and willing to answer any questions. She presented the material in a manner that was easy to understand. I would recommend her to other students that need to take a human bio class. I have struggled in other bio classes with different teachers and I found her to be the best. If you go to class and takes notes, you'll do fine. Her tests are based on her lectures.
Her tests are poorly worded! She is not very encouraging unless you are passing her class.
She is such a ****, she knows that we need these classes for other classes, but she doesn't help us! the stuff she saids is like bull****! so hard to understand, and the test she gives out are hard! asking questions in a very very different way that it was taught! She will mark off anything!
Her Class isn't hard but her praticums are hard like hell! only the praticum itself can **** your grades up! She's also an ass, for not giving a curve, or extra credit! the five point extra credit do not help at all!
What an energetic, helpful and smart teacher- this class is not for the meek -Theresa will test your ability to listen and study- tests are easy if you study. Theresa is always ready to help you if you ask for it. Her good looks also kept this AHDD adult from looking out the window. Enjoy-
Physio is a great class, you must be willing to put the time in and not skip class. I have seen too many of my fellow students skip a class or two and not study, then complain about their grades. As long as you go, you will be fine. I must admit her lecture is a little hard to follow at times.I got an A and I don't think my points added up to an A.
Mrs. Martin teaches very well. Her lectures are organized, clear, and notes on board are concise and helpful. If you take this class I suggest before lecture tests' KNOW YOUR NOTES! very well or even memorize it (my notes were everything she wrote on the board). Also, before practicums know where all words on list are located and their fuctions. GL
Anatomy and Physiology are tough classes, but she makes it fun to learn. Lots of good examples in class and clear explanations. She is friendly and helpful and always there if you have questions. She is the best!
Good teacher!
Doesn't curve on tests. Hard, horrible wording.
There is LOTS of important information that needs to be memorized. The summer class is challenging b/c you have to learn the same amount of material in a shorter time. Don't be scared to take this class b/c Theresa always does her best to help you understand. Form study groups and ask the TAs many questions. Study muscles and histology more.
I've read some comments about the test questions being ambiguous. This is true. To get around thisproblem, ask Theresa about any question you have about a test question before you turn the test in. Ask her about the question in a way that shows you understand the concept, and she will guide you to the answer that she's looking for.
I don't care what anyone says, Mrs. Martin is one of the best Biology teachers I ever had. People only talk crap if they are stupid and fail the class. They don't know how to study and work hard.
She can be nice and yes she's Very Brilliant teacher but as for her empathy for her students she deserves an "F".
Theresa loves all her students. She is helpful, understanding, and sweet. I don't understand why people thinks she doesn't have empathy for her students. I love her teaching, and i learned a lot from her. Theresa is the best.
Very good teacher. Although this was one of the toughest classes I have ever taken, I learned alot from this class. If you want to do well you must go to every lecture and take very good notes since the test is mostly based on your notes.
Very thorough class. You absolutely cannot skate through it. Read the material BEFORE lecture. Don't miss a class! Take good notes and review them often to stay current. 3 exams plus a 200 pt. final. Then there is all the lab work! Plus a 15 min. presentation. HA! Prof. Martin is great! This 5 unit class felt like a 10 unit class! (If your reading this Prof. remember, "I WANT AN A!")
Theresa Martin is a tough, but thorough instructor. She has to be the best human anatomy instructor in the district. She is attractive, pleasant, and makes the class very interesting. She has all of the answers to your questions both in lab and class. Most importantly, she is "very organized" with the lecture material.
Theresa is a very good teacher. She gives alot of informaion so don't miss even one class. In order to do well in anatomy you must attend every clas and especially lab session. Try to make it for every open lab and you will do well. The class requires so much memorizing. Be prepared to do alot of studying.
i totally aced lecture, but lab was another story. make sure you can make it to her open labs. some of us, unfortunately, had class during that time, so we were kind of screwed. overall, it's definitely a tough class. make sure you study, study, study!! and try not to have a class scheduled right before hers (that's when open lab is)
While she's a very nice person, she's not the best teacher. Her lectures are not very well organized and whatever she doesn't get to that day you have to do on your own without any help from her. Her tests are poorly worded and I found that learning the material from a different teacher was much better...encourage you to check out other teachers
she is the hardest teacher! she is really nice tho. even if u study sometimes it doesn't seem to help! study groups where you can tell what u no so u can understand. tests based on lecture. attendance not mand. but it helps for tests. she likes it if u ask q's. good but hard teacher!!
Theresa is very nice, very helpful, but her tests are difficult! I was counting to get an A in her class but now i'm hoping to get a C. I'm not taking her for physiology.
I got A's in both of her classes. She's a tough teacher but u'll learn a lot from her. Her lessons are easy to understand compared to others (just pay attention) and helps whenever she can. Her tests are really hard (almost Medicine-level) and really tricky. U have to understand and not just read the q's. Take her clas if u'll do ur part of d work.
Theresa is friendly, well organized and interested in her student's success. She make the material in the class accessible and fun for all
She is great! BEST BIO TEACHER AT CSM!!! She is very structural in her lecture classes. This makes it easy to follow. PLus what is on lecture is on the Exam for sure. Go to CLASS!! I like her because she knows what she's talking about - Very knowledgeable, and inspirational. I hope to one day have the clarity to explain things the way like her.
Theresa is a really hard teacher. She's pretty nice, and answers you questions. If she doesn't know something she will tell you. Tests based on lecture and lab. She lets you use any anatomy book. I would recommend this class if you are majoring in the sciences because she is thorough. If you are going into nursing, I wouldn't recommend this class.
her tests were hard & sometimes tricky. she's a great teacher though. for her lab & lecture tests, it's all memorization.know your stuff. some info isn't on the lecture notes so i recommend reading the book on things you don't understand. I'm a nursing major & passed this class with an A. it's a interesting class iloved it! just study hard!
I would not suggest her if she was the last teacher left on the planet. Great lectures that are clear. On the other hand the average grade in our class was a C. Several hrs of HW/wk (not inc. study) for assignments that were only worth a few points. This class and the material are supposed to be hard...not impossible.
If you are a great student expect to get an average grade. Maybe I caught her on an off semester but she was unorganized, constantly changing her assignments and information, and all over the place. Not enough rm for all the reasons to avoid her.
She's OK. I have the online human bio 130, so a lot of reading and writing. It's pretty boring. If you email her with several questions she onlu seems to answer one. Kind of gets annoying b/c you have to keep emailing her until you get a thorough answer. In class would probably be better
Theresa is a good instructor. she is organized, clear in her lectures, and she cares about her students. The course material is not easy, but the assignments are all designed to help you understand the concepts. I would recommend her.
Online class was flexible. Lot of busy work with the weekly summaries. Weekly guidelines for what to study was useful for learning the material, but not the greatest to prepare for the quiz. Quizzes were my biggest gripe. Quiz had two or more chapters and the questions wouldn't be divided per chapter. Also didn't know which questions I got wrong.
Great instructor, gives a lot of opportunities to succeed. Lectures are great, assignments all help to take the tests.
she is really unorganized. she dont tell us exactly what to study for yet she gives us so many chapters to cover. her lecture notes are vague so you would have to use the book and read up for her tests. her lab practicals are pretty hard. she picks tricky things to test you on.
She is overrated, nothing special.
HUGE workload...thats my only complaint. but she really knows her physiology..very nice too! Just be aware of the workload..I complained everytime...some packets take 5 hrs to complete. but u learn a lot from them
Theresa is a wonderful teacher, clear & very helpful! she is very good at teaching anatomy. She has a exam every two weeks. On practicums spelling counts. miss by 1 letter 1/2 point off. miss by 2 letters its wrong. Anatomy is a REALLY HARD class. Be ready for stressful semester. You will study all the time! But you will learn a lot from her.
If u want to suffer than i recommend this teacher.i dont know why she has high ratings. she could careless for her students and your grade will depend on 3 100pt tests and a 200pt final. she gives hw each only worth 5pts and they are require so much of your time. And we never get them backand the stuff that is given back was done by a grader. AWFUL!
Not the best professor I've ever had, but not the worst. The tests are based mostly on her lectures, but the book is a good supplement. To say you'll have a lot of homework is an understatement, be prepared to spend 85% of your study time on this class. She doesn't tell you specifically what is on the test, so you need to know EVERYTHING.
Theresa is a great teacher. Organized, fair, clear, thorough. I highly recommend her for all the classes she teaches.
I took this class online (Nutrition) over the summer and really loved it. The text is first rate- very well laid out and informative while being a fun read. Martin responded immediately to emails and had a very friendly manner. I definitely recommend this class.
I am currently taking this class and the amount of homework that needs to be completed every week is ridiculous. I honestly feel like I don't have time to study for tests because I'm constantly doing busy work!! She says she says she has to give enough for 3 hours worth of outside classwork, but its more like 6-8. Crazy.....
SHE IS VERY HARD, BUT SHE KNOW HER STUFF.
Toughest A (harder than UC) not bc of subject matter, but bc of the heavy workload. HW ranges from 4-12 hrs per week. Online hw was tedious and useless. Study the practice exams, lab material, type out a study guide, lectures, and read book! Ask her for help if you get stuck- she is nice about it. But be thorough in exam essay questions! GL
Taking her online class. She's nice, but it's super annoying that she takes off points for spelling. Like seriously?
I took her online Nutrition class and received a B because I missed a couple of assignments. If you read the book, participate in the discussions, and do the work, you'll definitely get an A!
Great Instructor, she has excellent lectures and the work is all related to the exams. I highly recommend her.
An overall great teacher.
Not super easy, but a fun course. She's really helpful.
A lot of reading. Quizzes (every week) are based on the reading from the book, she will lecture for ~20 minutes and some sections, there are no lectures. She says a lot of "uhms" while lecturing and lectures are not organized. just a ppt and her talking with NO other interactions ie pointing, color. Eventhough I got a good grade, I struggled a bit.
Anatomy was demanding and required a lot of rote memorization, but Martin has mnemonics and study tips to succeed. Occasionally frustrating with exit quizzes, she is very interesting. Would record lectures and post on WebAccess, and was progressive in using technology. Recommend the iPad ebook! PAL and search was a lifesaver!
Just started her Physio class, not liking it at all. She is a sweet soul and very knowledgable but she is not a good instructor. Seems hands off and expects the class to teach each other. I am not opposed to working in groups but when the class as a whole is confused and lost- there's something wrong. Hoping it will change as the sem progresses. :(
This is very dedicated instructor. She cares about her students and is really clear about her expectations. This class is hard, lots of content, but she makes it fun.
DO NOT TAKE HER FOR ANATOMY CLASS. WE WERE 40+ IN THE BEGINNING OF THE SEMESTER AND ENDED UP INTO LIKE 15 PEOPLE. SUPER HARD CLASS AND SHE GRADES REALLY HARD.
Ms. Martin to me from my experiance was a horriable teacher. Hard to get a hold of, didn't grade most homework and test until the course was over. Made it hard to know where you were in the class. Her online lectures were short and pretty bad. I think the most used word was UM... Hard to get a hold of, not reponsive at all.
One of the best online classes I've ever taken. Very clear instructions are posted each Monday morning for assignments which usually include 1-2 items due following Monday. Tests given out every other week and were easy since you can use the book, notes, etc. Only reason you won't pass is if you regularly forget assignments or bomb the tests.
Class was online, but Prof. Martin interacted in the discussions quite a bit. Material was challenging and useful. Most everything was very clear -- a couple requirements were fuzzy, but she was responsive to questions. She seems to go the extra mile to help students.
Professor Martin is a great teacher. She helps you figure out how to succeed in the class and grades fairly.
Professor Martin works really hard at helping you understand what is required. She is a good lecturer, and is very accessible. The class is hard, but it is anatomy after all. Lots of memorizing!
Miss Martin really cares about her students. Her class is very interesting. In addition, she is very fair while grading exams. She also usually appreciate students opinion. Questions are always welcome. I strongly recommend her. If I have opportunity I would attend another class with her. Miss Martin is one of the best teachers I have had.
The class is set up really well. Good assignments, clear expectations, regular chances to communicate with other students. Overall a great online class!
Theresa was always attentive and a very fair grader. Her course was set up easily. Overall I wish I received an A because I was so close, but I think it was fair. She's a great teacher and you can tell by her emails that she truly cares about her students and wants them to succeed. I definitely reccomend this course.
This teacher really helps each student do their best. The class is tough, but her assignments really help us study more effectively. Thanks Prof Martin!
Prof. Martin tries to help students with free online textbook. Not too much homework. She talks to each of her students and wants everyone to do well . All you need do is study hard and study smart. Get used to the lab lists and go to lab often, and you'll do well.
She was nice and fair, I got a B- in the class. Her tests are easy and all the assignments are too, just turn them in on time and you should get an A or B
Although I took this class online, I was always able to reach out to Professor Martin if I needed. I felt she was available to me and other students. There were 7 online quizzes along with weekly discussion questions and assignments so it's a manageable course load if you're working or taking other classes like I was. Definitely take her class!
Ms. Martin is a great person And tries her best to help you understand anatomy and physiology. But the class is just to hard. She grades based on your test scores, which there are 2 test every week, 1 lab, 1 lecture. If your an independents so fast learner good class for you, but if you need extra help you'll get lost easily in her class.
Weekly assignments analyzing your diet/class discussions. Very manageable course, just pay attention to deadlines and do your work on time b/c small points add up. Martin is there for help but YOU need to reach out to her. Her audio lectures/powerpts are helpful. Even though quizzes are open book, read/take notes before b/c there is a time limit.
It is a 100% online class. Prof. Martin gives one week to complete each assignment. 8 quizzes are based on the textbook: you have to read each chapter front to back, because questions are detailed. Professor Martin is available during office hours if you have questions. Read and do your assignments on time and you will do well.
Her online class is pretty straightforward and she has everything that you need laid out each week. Quizzes are every other week and questions can be very detailed. She's quick to respond back to the emails too.
Theresa is very clear with her expectations from you and the expectations are easy to fulfill. She's one of the best professors I have online for opening up new weeks early so you can get a head start.
Professor Martin has a really organized online course in Nutrition that relies on your own personal diet for learning about nutrition. You really learn a lot about your own dietary needs from taking this course. She is excellent: fair, responsive, and caring.
Great class, great Professor. I learned so much!
I took prof. Martin's nutrition online class for summer. Each week, there's a quiz and 1 week to do a homework assignment and discussion. Quizzes are open notes, but there's a short time limit. Her assignments are not very clear to follow, so I lost lots of points. Half the time she posts video lectures, so you need to read the book by yourself.
Professor Martin has a clear, easy to follow format, and provides great feedback on assignments. I highly recommend her class.
This teacher doesn't teach. She literally will give you and your partner 20 mins to read a paragraph and write a sentence, it's like I'm back in preschool. She makes us take ei notes on the chapters in the book where u describe how the text makes you feel and how you relate to it. Slowest paced class I have ever taken.
Professor Martin's class was great. I really enjoyed the way she organizes her online class and felt like it was very clear. She has a systematic structure and gives a variety of different assignments to better understand the material. I wish every online class was like hers.
She does not lecture in the traditional sense. She leads a student-driven discussion. You teach yourself & one another. This is frustrating as we aren't accustomed to this usually. That being said, you will learn this material better & more deeply than you can imagine if you take responsibility for your learning & class participate.
This is an online course with 8 online open book/note quizzes. If you read the book & do the 1-2 assignments per week you are going to ace this class. Super helpful to have already taken many human biology courses.
Online Human Biology. I do not recommend this class. No class-specific material was provided by Prof Martin. Expected to learn from textbook and videos, many of which were broken links. Hard to know what to study for the quizzes because she offered no chapter notes or study guides. Pace was about 1 ch per week, quiz every other. Tough quizzes.
Physiology is a dense subject and I feel like Professor Martin made it a 1000x more challenging! You have to keep up with the readings, no question! Her lecture power points do not help much, but please do the reading before class because her lectures are discussion driven! EXAMS WERE HARD! But she does provide study guides!! You gotta work for it!
I have had Theresa for several classes and I have loved every single one. She cares about her students, is so sweet, and caring. She is easy going and just wants you to engage and do well. If she is teaching a class, any class, I 10/10 recommend it.
Professor Martin is clear and easy to follow in lecture. The class has a ton of content, so be ready to work. If you do your homework and study hard you can do well.
Great teacher!
An amazing teacher and inspiring human being. I took her for BIO 250 & 260. Earned my grades w/ blood, sweat, and tears. Be prepared! A&P are difficult subjects so be prepared to read A LOT and don't be afraid to ask questions. Theresa is always willing to help her students succeed. If you don't understand a concept, watch it on YT!
I do not recommend this class to people who want to learn anything, because I did not remember anything after taking the online Bio 130. It was easy, sure, online quizes that answers are in the book or online. However, it wasn't helpful for my following semester anatomy class. Take it if you want the creidt, don't if u wanna take biology later!
Great class with good organization and fun discussions. I appreciated Professor Martin's teaching in this class.
Great lecturer. Condenses the information from the text often cutting out a lot of the fluff that other lazy professors would make you memorize. She also does a great job emphasizing big picture concepts that are actually helpful for people pursuing a career in medicine. You, however, do need to put in the time to study to do well in this class.
Good Instructor. Tough class, but she is fair.
Hardest class I've ever taken- lectures suck and she's very dull. Self taught course with lecture exams AND lab exams taken only a couple days apart with A LOT of in depth information in both. Treats us like kids with a "think, pair, share" activity that takes half of lecture then treats us as if we're all going to be surgeons... SAVE YOURSELF
Professor Martin is a very thorough and organized teacher. She makes sure you know what you need to study, and provides lots of opportunities to think about the concepts she is teaching in class. I appreciate her caring attitude and her willingness to help.
Great professor. Clear requirements, very interactive class.
Theresa is by far the best Biology teacher I have ever had. Her lectures are condensed and straight to the point, and she's very passionate about the material that she teaches. Do the work, really study and interact with the material you're learning about, ask questions, and you'll be fine. She's always around and she responds to emails quickly.
I took her online summer class for Human Bio. Prof Martin is very clear with her expectations and grading process. She doesn't give too much busy work and it's clear that she wants you to learn. She is not about trying to trick you in her test questions. She is very quick to respond to emails and her responses are always thoughtful and helpful.
Took this class 3 times, twice with Professor Martin. She's very nice and willing to help, but there are so many students sometimes it's hard. Anatomy is a difficult class so make friends and study groups. Class consisted of lecture & lab exams with a few worksheets. Very flexible during the pandemic (1-2 meetings a week w office hours available).
By far the best Anatomy and Physiology professor hands down in person & online! These are both very hard subjects but her work load isnt too much, she will accommodate you as much as possible (as long as youre trying), & she is very kind & understanding. As long as you study & do the assignments you can definitely get an A I highly recommend!
This is one of the worst professors I've ever had, and If you are reading this please do not take her class.
Professor Martin is very caring. She works hard to make sure the students have everything they need to succeed: good lectures, supportive videos, and homework that is not busy work. She is also very easy to talk to.
On average she assigns 3 assignments per week. There are class discussions, our final is not cumulative, there are video watching assignments, chapter reading, and chapter quizzes. It's pretty much straight forward and her organization is nice on Canvas. She provides good feedback on your discussions.
Weekly In-Text Book quizzes (varies in quantity depending on chapter or topic), and weekly discussion posts. Consistent grading rubric, and a great professor who dedicates her time for the betterment of her students.
Most of the class was centered around the digital textbook, including tests through the book's platform. Basically a perfect online class because the bulk of the work was just reading and directly translating that knowledge to quizzes, plus a few discussions and videos, and no weird group projects or anything.
I took this class online, and while assignments were easy, I felt like I didn't actually learn anything. There were no lectures, just short (often low-quality) YouTube videos. Easy credit but I know I won't be ready for Anatomy or Physiology, which is the whole reason I took this class in the first place. Waste of time.
Online and easy class. Assignments consist of edpuzzles, annotating online textbook, discussions every few weeks, chapter tests every other week. Easy A, not retaining much of the info tho but if it's for credit, take this class. If you score below a B on edpuzzles, she lets you redo them. A few quizlet quizzes but those r easy.
Don't take this class unless you have a lot of free time. Expect 10 assignments every week along with very difficult tests that are tough to study for. Labs were in person but lectures were asynchronous. Labs were fun but nowhere near worth the boatload of work and receiving a terrible grade. Don't take this class, the tests avgs were 50% everytime
WARNING: Don't take the class. Class avg for all midterms were 50%. No EC. Doesn't give studying tips/ no tutor. Literal blood sweat & tears just for a D. DO NOT TAKE THE CLASS!!!
4 hours of class,no lecture incorporated. All lectures were placed in modules, alongside with 6 assignments(more videos and 50 page readings). Constantly had to remind her to input my grades for assignments, but either took weeks or did not grade them at all. Doesn't provide any support knowing that exams averaged 50%. SAVE YOUR GPA WHILE YOU CAN!!
very reliant on textbooks and videos online. Martin is a nice teacher who gives you a lot of opportunities to give you an A
Most assignments are EdPuzzles with retakes, textbook annotations, and discussion posts. Eight quizzes, all open book, and if you protest a question she will return the credit. Great course with real life applications and relations to ethics. Taken as summer class in 2021 as a high school freshman, and it was very easy to follow. Highly recommend.
She assigns 8-10 assignments a week with a lot of reading. The tests are hard to study for and she misleads her students by telling them to study her provided study guide, but it is not helpful at all. Tough grader, spent many hours studying to still get a C. The class averaged 50% on most exams, Save your time and GPA.
Professor Martin has a ton of resources to help learn the material. You need to study hard, but if you do then you will get a good grade.
Such a free class. Literally stay on top of weekly assignments and there's 0 chance of failure.
Professor Martin is thorough and conscientious about making sure you understand the physiology. There are lots of assignments that help you learn the material, and she makes good connections to clinical issues which is great because I am going into healthcare.
Very clear and organized online class. The professor makes us read and talk about it on a Perusall app, which helps make it easier to understand. Fun discussions too.
Prof. Martin was a great teacher. Took the hybrid class for physio. Homework and quizzes were easy to do online. Labs were fun and required working with lab partners and lab tables for groups. Tests were hard but if you studied were easier. Overall great teacher and I learned a lot
Its just October 2023 and this class is not over yet. If you love to learn and are ready to go through a real college level of since , just take it and enjoy all you learn from this literate professor. I first freaked out when I saw the first Exam study guid but the more I go forward and the more study Enjoy more. she is always there for you.
Took this class in Summer of 2023 as a pre-req to Anatomy. She had well structured syllabus, and was accommodating for extra time if you have her a heads up. Weekly open text book quizzes. If it's online - do the readings in advance (do not cram!) and keep the text book handy. You'll be fine
She is a caring professor who wants you to do well. However, this class is extremely difficult. You will be studying many hours a week to get by. To do well I would recommend going to every lecture, every lab and attend office hours. Exams are difficult but if you study well you will pass. Interesting lectures and the labs are a lot of fun!
Professor Martin is really invested in students' success. She is really approachable, and has lots of supportive resources. She also has has activities in class that help u to think more deeply about the material. Take her!
Super kind professor with a soothing lecture cadence. The class consisted of an online book you had to annotate as a group with your peers, which helped me remember the information better, EdPuzzles, and multiple-choice tests every couple weeks. Tests were tough but doable if you read the material twice.
Teacher is very kind and considerate. Each week would consist of 3-4 things. Some weeks I would have an Edpuzzle, a discussion, a reading, and a quiz, but it varied week by week. She is very clear with what she wants from assignments and is very kind with grading. No projects (which I am happy about), about 1 quiz a week, open note.
Great Professor, she provides practice questions and Edpuzzles.
I really loved this class because of how clear the agenda is! The canvas course is so easy to manage and it is clear on what assignments are due for the week. I took this class as a pre-req for anatomy and it was by far the best experience i have had with online learning. Prof. Martin is the best! :)
I took Biol 130 with Prof Martin online, she is a passionate teacher. Her Canvas layout is easy to follow, with weekly assignments due the following Sunday. The course includes Edpuzzles, discussions, and perusall readings. Quizzes are easy if you keep up with assignments. The class felt engaging despite being online. I'd definitely take again.
The professor is very kind and accommodating. Lots of opportunities to do well through weekly assignments and open-book quizzes. Unstuck ai was a great study tool alongside the textbook.
Professor Martin has produced a clear organized class for Introductory Biology. I really like the assignments we have to do each week and the chance to work with other students in discussions. Excellent online class. Excellent instructor.
Probably one of my favorite professors this semester, classwork is straightforward and easy to understand. Honesty makes it hard to mess up.
Professor Martin has a great organization in the class with clear expectations. It is easy to do well with the resources and activities she provides. Definitely recommend her!
Super chill and as long as you do the work/follow directions you'll get full credit. Textbook is provided and you "annotate it" with the entire class. Lots of easy edpuzzles and weekly open-note quizzes with retakes.
