I give her respect for being a nun. other than that she is a very unhelpful sister. if you let her know your catholic you have it easier.

Not only is her teaching bad, I was screwed because her father was ill and she was gone for some period of time. Thus I failed 1 test resulting in a poor grade for the whole semester. Her classes should be avoided at all cost.

she is a nice woman and she always lets you make up missed quizzes. she got upset very easily though and tended to go on entire class rampages about one little thing, therefore wasting my time and money.
The thing i don't like about her is she collects homework but the homework she collects isn't on the syllabus its on the internet but only on month at a time, its a real pain!
She was a very horrible teacher. The only math teacher I've ever had that you had to do it her way or the answer was wrong. If you do the work and get the right answer, but its not the way she taught you, then the whole answer was wrong. Extreme waste of time. DO NOT TAKE HER AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!!!
Nuns scare me...she simply made it worse :( Don't be fooled on the first day of class if she seems nice. She does not teach, she lets the computer do all the work. Plus she wastes time (I'm pretty sure everyone in college knows multiplication tables)

She is horrible plain and simple. She got mad when you asked a question, she got mad if you did the problem a different way and got it correct. She alsotook point off students' hw if they did not head the paper properly. This class was a bad example of mostly good profs at KentState. Avoid her class

Switch professors while you still can!! She is nice but she has a tendency of wasting time but explaining concepts that dont need to be explained in a college level class. She always starts class early and does not offer help when needed.

She deducted points from my test for spelling!!! I kid you not.
I know this was a remidial math class, but she took off points if we did not spell her name correctly. The idea of putting Sister Mary Teresa Sharp SND as one of the graded points in horrible. She was pretty mean to some of the people in the class too. She angered and frustrated people becasue she was overly organized and made a seathing chart!
I know a lot of people did not like her, but my grade was boosted because she gives you homework assignments (not a lot) and if you go to her to ask questions, she is very helpful.
Is very nice and very helpful. She takes the course at a comfortable pace too. I don't see why she would take off points for spelling, but you are in college, so you should be able to spell. The seating chart wasn't all that bad. I think college kids are too critical about the dumbest things. It's her class, she can do what she wants.
Terrible class. Assigns tons of homework, but doesn't give you any real points for them. I got a star plus on something that took me weeks to do. When it came time for grades, the stupid homework didn't even boost my grade. She never explains anything. I would've passed, but she never told us about online work so I ended with a D
okay so i took fundamental because i wasn't good at math, when we asked questions..she yelled at us and told us to answer her's first. She made me so mad one day.. i walked out, the next day she made me stay after class so we could discuss the issue, which made me late for another class. She is rediculous
I made the mistake of telling this nun that I was a protestant. I'm certain that's why I got a D when I turned in all the homework and got A's on all the tests. Do not take her if you can help it!!!!
This was the worst class I had my first semester. She yelled at everyone for asking questions about online homework and told us to call the company if we didn't know what something meant. I dropped it after two weeks and switched to another class, I couldn't stand her she's ridiculous.
A bad teacher. She has a great ability to make you feel ignorant. Her syllabus said our internet work was due on a Thursday and without warning, changed it to that Tuesday and that's why I did poorly.
Thou shalt not take her as teacher. Thou shalt drop class and take different class to save thy GPA. Hard ass class, teach is a major pain, shes a nun and they arent nice. makes a stupid seating arrangement and you have to get the book printed off the net. I was in for a week and dropped it at the last minute and now im happy.

I already took this class in high school, so, I knew what I was doing anyway. It was a refresher. However, the other people in my class had a hard time keeping up their grades. If you respect her, she will give you the benefit of the doubt. Study, and go to her office hours. Good luck.

Absolutely the worst teacher I have every had. I was not the best math student in the world and I needed some remediation. I took this class and I honestly can say that she has been no help what so ever. If you have a question she suggests you to see a tutor. She will not help. I would suggest to not take her at all. Get another teacher!!
She does not teach anything. She gives work but barely goes over it at all. The worst teacher I have ever had. The worst part about her is she is also the meanest person I have ever met in my entire life. If i went to the church where she is a nun I would become an atheist. She did not say one positive word the entire semester.
She is not a horrible teacher, people just don't give her enough credit. Her grading is pretty rough.. ex/no partial credit on the test..other than that she is nice and actually funny. I don't recommend her as a teacher if you're not willing to deal with someone different. I love her though.

Look to everyone who has no idea what it is to be set in your ways you'll not have a fun time. Most people call her a ****, but there is no way. She is a Nun and that takes more commitment than teaching a bunch of your adults basic math. I like her and think she is a great teacher get tutoring if you don't understand college is studying.
Very difficult and office hours are useless. Ended up getting a tutor. She will pick on you if you don't answer questions and tends to put people on the spot a lot. Attendance is mandatory, but you kind of expect that in math. Worst math teacher ever! She can be really nice though once you pass the class, oddly enough!
DO NOT TAKE! I WISH I would have listened to the people on this website. She teaches things (that most people already know) in a COMPLETELY different and more complicated way, and she's no help. She'll tell you to go to a tutor. My thought process was "Well, I'll give her a try. She's probably not THAT bad." I was WRONG. Find a new teacher ASAP.
Horrible teacher. If you ask a question she embarrasses and degrades you in front of the whole class. A lot of points are given for attendence, but she grades extremely harshly. Again, HORRIBLE teacher.

I don't feel comfortable coming to class because I feel like I'm being pressured to go up in front of everyone. I'm not that kind of person. Also, she seems to spend more time scolding us on how we don't know our 12's than to teach us our 12's.
I thought nuns were supposed to be nice? I have never met a more rude woman. I have seen her make girls cry in class. If I ask for help, she is very short and does not answer my question. She is someone who is not meant to work with students. I dread going to math everyday because of her. I wish I had a more helpful teacher.
I had Sister Sharp for Basic Algebra 3 (the ALEKS program), and because it was online I never went to her for help. She's very very strict and can come off as rude, so avoid her if you see she's angry. TIP: Do ALEKS everyday! I got 100% course mastery by doing about 10 topics/1 hour everyday, it took me the 40 hours they require.
I had Sister Sharp for Aleks 2 & 3. She was very rude but she was just basically there to take attendance. If you need help just ask one of the teacher assistants that walk around. Course was online so you could work at your pace. I missed some classes, she never said a word. As long as you come to class & do your work she won't be rude to you.
Sister is very strict and can sometimes be very rude. She doesn't know the class and is only there to take attendance. If you respect her she'll respect you regardless of how often youre there.
Sister Sharp is often very rude to students. Don't get on her bad side. Just go to class and get your work done.
I had her for Modeling Algebra. She can be extremely rude and out of line. Stay on her good side and you should be fine. She makes her class much harder than it needs to be. I wouldn't recommend her to anyone.
Although she was never rude to me, I did see her degrade other students in front of the class. As long as you do your work and don't ask her for help it's an easy class to get through.

I worked under Sharp as a graduate assistant in the emporium. She is deeply disrespectful to all of the tutors and students. She is known to refuse to answer questions about course policy from students and assistants. I wish her ill.
This class was pretty easy as long as you kept up with your online work both in the emporium and at home. Sister Sharp is mainly there just for attendance but if you show her that you are constantly improving you won't have a problem with her. If you have a question as one of the tutors or graduate students. They are always willing to help.
Don't be as freaked out by these reviews as I was. Sister Sharp is literally just there to take attendance, and although you teach everything yourself, the Graduate students are helpful. I've never seen her be as rude as I've heard on here to anyone, and as long as you show up and do stuff in class, she will like you.
Have her now, and she's a wonderful lady to be honest. First day I walked in, she was having a dispute with a student about a grade. I was skeptical at first. However, she's actually very nice, just incredibly strict. Don't try your grade suffers. She just wants to see the students pass. No effort not her fault. Do your work and she is great.
Its not my intent to speak ill of her, but I must warn that she can be extremely MEAN to students. She's known for degrading students loudly in front of others, and over all seems to find joy in humiliating people.
She is such a nice woman, ALEKS is frustrating but she works with you. If you need to make up class hours she has no problem. Very understanding, just be honest.

She is extremely rude. If you have a question about anything, forget about asking her. She likes to publicly humiliate and degrade her students on a daily basis. She's basically there to take attendance and to make you feel insignificant. It is a hostile learning environment and I urge everyone to NOT take her.
DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS! SO DEAD SERIOUS! I needed only one math course for my fashion major and I dropped it took the W. It is not worth it for your GPA to suffer. In her class she is mean and she gives you a quiz two days after she just taught it. She has sympathy or tolerance for your excuses. You practically have to teach yourself the lesson.
You are basically teaching yourself the whole time. you might even need to do outside tutoring because she does not actually know how to teach. how about just dont take her. This class is too many credits to be getting Cs and Ds on it really brings down your gpa.

Such an awful class. Not even Sister Theresa's fault necessarily, but she doesn't help. The ALEKS system is awful- you will be miserable and end up teaching yourself. Bring headphones so you don't fall asleep because it'll drag on. Go on ALEKS outside of class for about an hour and use mathway. com -you'll get the answers. Welcome to Hell on Earth.
Extremely nit picky grader!! On all my quizzes, the math was correct, however if the square root sign does not COMPLETLY run over a number, she will take off full credit. This is just one example of many details Sister Sharp takes points off for. She is mean and makes you feel stupid when you ask a simple question. Worst class ever.
Just don't take her as a professor. She a nun, shes wont hit you with a ruler but she just hits your grades with it. She takes points off for everything any type of small miss mistake. She doesnt teach and leaves out lessons that she puts on her test. She is very rude too, she talks down to everyone because she is perfect and never makes mistake.
She was overall an OK prof, as long as you paid attention and did the homework you will pass. She doesn't really explain how to solve problems though, but the problems she puts on her test are extremely BASIC compared to whats on the homework. Just make sure it looks "pretty" before you turn it in.
Seems like a nice lady, but gets very mean when you ask questions. She only teaches for the first five minutes of class and does not explain things AT ALL. It might as well be an online class because you'll teach yourself everything. I've probably lost a few brain cells from her lack of good teaching.
She doesn't connect well with the students. Makes mistakes while teaching, which happens to everyone, but she becomes flustered and goes off track. It is completely possible to teach yourself the material. Just read the chapters she "teaches". HW done through Webassign... an easy 100%. Sadly, attendance mandatory.
Do not take class with her. She is of no help, her lectures make no sense, and she basically sets you up for failure. I was sitting in class trying to do homework for what she was "teaching." The TA was trying to help me understand what she had been lecturing about and she rudely interrupted us. If you can avoid her, it would be to your advantage.
At the beginning of the course, she will have you write on a piece of paper your experience with math. My experience with this class made me dislike the subject all the more because her teaching style didn't allow me to learn well. I recommend a different teacher.
She cares a lot ab her students! If youre in the emporium she only talks for a little then youre off to do your own thing. Shes very nice as long as youre nice to her and do your work. And shes always there to help! Shes very smiley and sweet. Dont get on her bad side!
My advisor actually gave me the option to take ALEKS over the summer, but my job took up a lot of my time so I didnt but I STRONGLY recommend doing that. If not, put in the work at the pace Sister Sharp gives you, and get out ASAP. You can even take the final early! Sharp is just there to host the class though. I wouldnt ask for help.
Worst professor I had. Professor made me feel dumb so many times, would not recommend taking her class. I didnt find that trig was very hard, her teaching style was hard to follow though. She sees nothing wrong with the way she teaches and if nobody understands shell say come on guys this is easy. Very degrading. Doesnt respect her students
Really awful experience. I would hate to see her lose her job but the University should not stand for this. Disrespectful to students and makes it miserable going to class.
She is an awful teacher and traumatized an entire class by not allowing them to take their midterm unless they showed their entire space, and asked ridiculous things of them. She was hardly a professor, and relied on her TA to do all of the teaching.
She's a horrible professor she takes forever to respond to students and is very rude and can often be very inconsiderate to students. She can not teach a class to save her life and when asking for help instead of helping you she tells you to go to the textbook which is very hard to understand. She also has no clue what she's doing. overall horrible
Sister Sharp is just a terrible professor overall. She is disrespectful, rude, and has absolutely no patience for her students. She does not reply to your emails outside of class. Still don't know how a bitter lady like her became a nun. Anyways, just avoid at all costs.
She called me chatty Kathy over a microphone in front of the whole class for helping my classmate with a practice problem. She was always rude and when I would ask her for help she made me feel Inferior, do not take a class with her.
My teacher was prepared for every class, reviewed for tests, had a quiz after each chapter, prepared us well for the final, gave good examples, and showed each student respect.
This teacher enjoys doing trig and teaching students about trig.
