One of the greatest classes I've ever taken, she is so hilarious and fun everyday, you are barely ever bored in this class and she really makes you think!

Liberal yes, but very accepting and welcoming of others. She will make you think and formulate a coherant argument to back up your statments. Classes are very interesting, you won't want to miss them

I love this professor! Her lectures are always interesting, and she is extremely smart and funny. I've learned more in Dr. Smith's class than any other class I've taken at IUP. After taking her class, I changed my major to Religion. Take this professor!

Terri Smith is one of the best professors that I have ever had. Not only is she funny and articulate, she makes class fun! She is a great person. I recommend that everyone who is going to take a religious studies class takes her.

Very very funny, and she's very helpful. Her lectures are sometimes very unstructured which makes it hard to take good notes. Overall pretty easy. She's extremely liberal, but listens to what anyone has to say.

Absolutely amazing prof. Turns what can be a dry subject into valuable, sound knowledge and lots of fun too. She is upbeat and down-to-earth, understanding with students' problems, and energetic. Tests aren't that bad, mostly skim the text and study the terms. Excellent prof; I'd take her again.

She's hilarious...very liberal I'd say...So if you are very conservative you may not like her. Very clear on what she wants out of you and makes religion fun to learn about. She likes to play devil's advocate to get you thinking. I'd definitaly take her again!!

She is brilliant, hilarious and open-minded. You couldn't ask for a better professor; she questions everything and makes you do the same. Her classes are possibly the most fun and interesting ones you will ever take.

Funny but hard. Class is fun and you get to talk a lot about interesting stuff but when it comes to the papers and exams it seems like nothing you did in class reflects the material. CLASS is fun with the topics and discussions but you mainly have to teach yourself the rest because what you discuss in class won't be what you're graded on

this prof is AMAZING. she gives interesting lectures and assigns readings that arent heinous. if you are willing to come to class and do the work, i definately reccomend her

This is the best class I've ever had. Anyone who doesn't like Dr Smith obviously just doesn't get her sense of humor. She is really smart and funny and her class is always interesting. Everyone thinks so, except the coward who logged on before me to complain. This class is a blast and you learn a lot too. I'd recommend this professor to anybody.

Smith is awesome...I LOVED her class. She's pretty easy but u have to study some. U have 3 tests and 1 paper, all are easy if u look over ur notes. There is a book ur supposed to read, each test has about 4 questions pertaining to it so u can risk not reading it, which is what most of us did. Take her if u can, u'll love her!

Luke-warm. she's completely biased in her teachings. She takes christianity, judeism, and islam and bashes them a lot. but other than that, she's kinda interesting

Dr Smith is excellent. She's makes the subject very interesting and entertaining. She's also very funny. I like her so much I'm taking her again in the fall for her class on Neo-Paganism!

She is one of the funniest teachers I ever met. She made the subject so fun I actually enjoyed going to class. And on the last Day we had a feast with lots of goodies. It was a great class. I recommend it even if your not a RLST major. You can learn a lot of interesting things!!!!!

Religion Studies was decent. Its really interesting to learn about diff religions and their cultures. However, the tests were somewhat difficult. The paper was easy. As long as you go and listen you'll do fine but if youre one that likes to skip class alot I dont recommend!

A class on Neo-paganism. Being a neo-pagan, I was worried, but this class was terrific. Theresa was terrific at encouraging class discussion and cut through the BS that usually goes around about neo-paganism. The tests are difficult, however. She even admitted that they were too tough for a 200-level course, so she adjusted accordingly.

I took intro to religion and native north american religion with her 16 years ago. She was a very interesting prof who knew her stuff. The overview of the religions was insightful. The Native N.American class had artists and speakers and there was a one woman play I'll never forget. Since then I've come to know that Jesus IS the only Truth.

She is an great teacher! She really knows what she's talking about is awesome at making things interesting and encouraging class discussion. I would definitely recommend her to anyone!

Great professor! Loved Experiential Studies in England class in summer. Extensive review of sites gave clear understanding and motivated class for charged discussions during internship abroad. Encouraged critical thinking through thoughful posed questions. Respects student answers. I learned so much doing this internship abroad. Highly recommend!

I have her for my synthesis and I love her. She is one of those teachers you just admire and want to hang out with. She is so intelligent, and it's a lot of work, but it is so interesting. She doesn't push her views, but she educates. Best class I have taken in a long while. I really respect her.

She is very cool and very funny. She does not have a bunch of big complicated projects. She really does not ask for much just don't text which is not a big deal just do what she says and it will b smooth sailing.

Shes crazy but really funny and actually makes class really interesting. Definitely recommend.

She is definitely one of my favorite professors at IUP. She honestly cares about what she's teaching, you can see her passion for it. She also actually cares about the students- she wants you to do good and she wants everyone to learn. There are no tricks to her tests. Everything in her class is clear. I wouldn't say she's easy, but you will get it

This was not an easy class. Her tests are not easy either. She thinks they are. Attendance is not mandatory but,if you want to do well you need to go to class and read the book. I took it in the summer. Dr. Smith enjoys what she teaches. She wants everyone to do well. She isn't out to fail anyone. She will try and help any way she can.

Great Great Great Teacher! Loved her. She was hilarous and really made the class fun. I had a senior level class and she still made it fun to learn. We had like 5 different books we needed and she used all of them, but it was an interesting subject and she made me want to go to class. Def. try and get her as a teacher!

I loved this class, Dr. Smith is one of the best professors to take, I loved her classes. SHe is very sarcastic and funny. I read on here that she bashes Chrustians, I never once got that from her. In fact she is very respectful of all religions, I did not see her being liberal or disrespect anyone. Really gets you thinking highly recommend her

Dr. Smith is awesome. She really makes class interesting and is a real person. She'll say what she feels and tell it like it is and I love her for that. She is very respectful to all religions even though she doesn't agree with all they teach. I learned so much from her class. The only thing, don't skip she takes attendance alot.

Dr. Smith was awesome. She's great at explaining complex ideas and she really gets you thinking. She is not a Christian basher, but she does get you thinking about it. She's a very nice woman who cares about you, and your education. She also has adorable basset hounds. Over all she's great and I am taking classes with her in future. :)

She's open-minded, respectful, and interested in obscure religions, but holds a blatant double standard towards mainstream religions. You'll find her funny, but she's very close-minded and disrespectful towards Judaism and Christianity.

She is hilarious and super easy. You will learn more from her in a semester than you've ever learned from a professor before. She keeps everything interesting and has great stories. Class isn't mandatory, but if you take good notes, her exams are a breeze.

This class was alright. I definitely have to admit that Dr. Smith's lectures were actually interesting to listen to. The class was made up of four exams, and she did offer extra credit. Also, it was obvious she cared about her students because she gave us term sheets to study for exams and she listened to our feedback on tests.

Show up, take the notes & study them, skim the book, and you will get an A. She also gives so many opportunities for extra credit. TAKE HER!

What a great lady! I can't say enough about Theresa. She was by far one of my favorite professors freshman year. Learned so much from her and i would highly recommend taking this class. Lecture was more like her telling you stories and got really into it. Also good for a great laugh. TAKE THIS Class

Dr. Smith is amazing! She is really a cool person and she makes class interesting. The only thing is her tests are really hard and you have to read SO MUCH from the text. Also, her study guides are not that specific so it makes studying a lot of material hard. Overall, I enjoyed the class and loved her as a professor! She is hilarious!

She is AWESOME! I was intimidated at first, but if you put in the effort, participate, and attend class she will respect you. Her lectures were extremely interesting and not only is she wonderful at giving them, but she also blends in her personal experience as well. She will challenge you with questions and really get you thinking!

She's very funny, one of the most enjoyable teachers I've ever been with. Her class depends on only four exams, and there will be some extra credits. If you do the reading and study for the exams, then an A is easy to get.

Dr. Smith makes class interesting, but is very passionate about the subject, so don't raise your hand and try to be a smart mouth, she will correct you. She is very knowledgeable, and gets you to become more open-minded. Fairly test heavy, study well, but they aren't too bad. Gave lots of extra credit on the last test, take advantage of it.

Dr. Smith is a really good professor but she will make you work hard for it. I wouldnt take her class if youre looking for an easy A.

Now this Professor is an enigma. She is one of the funniest, most foul mouthed professors I have ever had. Yet she is surprisingly caring and understanding. Her class is very thorough and approaches the topic of world religions from a very neutral standpoint. She won't try to sway you to any of the religions she covers. Definitely a great choice!!!

Dr. Smith is one of the best professors at IUP. She teaches the class in a thought-provoking and insightful way while also adding comedic segments when necessary. The book is only used for terms at the end of chapters, which show up on quarterly tests. I would highly recommend to take this class.

So. Freaking. Funny. I loved the class, tests are pretty difficult and in-person, but if you pay attention to lectures, read the textbook, and study right you're totally fine.

I had this class from 5:00pm to 7:45pm and I did not even mind because I loved Professor Smith. She was very funny and made it clear what was going to be on her exams. I had no trouble with the exams because as long as you go to class, her lectures give you all the information that you need. I definitely recommend this class!
