for a distance class, you learn a lot. she gives you a lecture cd to listen to and that really adds to the class. i wish all the DE teachers did something like that. you need to keep up w/bulletin board posting and if you keep up with the reading, the course is cakewalk.

I took her for Comm 136 and also for Art 199 (online) and she's the best. She is funny and sometimes a little nutty but still awesome. Tests and quizzes are easy as long as you pay attention and study, which isn't a problem. Projects are also fun and easy. TAKE HER!!

I took her online class for Motion Picture Appreciation. The reading was tedious, but her CD lectures were awesome. You have to watch a movie a week and there are discussion questions to answer. Tests are some of the hardest I have taken though - study your butt off! Plus there is a project. Pretty fun class though. I would take her again.

She is awesome. Too bad she is currently not teaching because she had a baby. I enjoyed her class, the lectures, the fieldtrips for extra credit. She assigns great subject to write on that teach about mass media. Take her when she comes back.

I don't understand those that give a 1 for easiness? (1 = hard people!) She does everything but take the test for you. How many other prof's give you lecture outline notes, lectures on CD, study guides??? Not many give you so many opportunities to succeed. If you think she's hard, you're not going to do well when/if transferring to a 4-year school!

Professor Villeneuve is one of the fairest instructors i've ever had. She really cares about her students and gives us many opportunities to earn extra credit. She is clear and easy to communicate with.

She has to be one of the most enlightening professors I've had at Citrus. She's smart, funny, hot and her class is SO AWESOME! She makes the material come to life. She Rocks!

Learned something new on each day in class. Assignments required skill and knowledge. Very easy going Professor. She's a blast to be around. At the end of the semester you walk away with a butt-load of new skills. This will be the class you remember throughout your future education. Professor TV is an amazing instructor.

I dont know why people are saying she is hard!!! Assignments take a few minutes, tests are easy and dont require cramming! Shes funny and makes the class entertaining! She treats you as an equal! The essay is VERY important...but common!!! its the only real assignment! Its a long class to sit through but in the end its worth it!!

Very easy going and very fun. One hour lecture and 2 hour movie. Although you should show up because questions about the movies will show up in the midterm and final and a couple of them can't be found at your local blockbuster.

I took this course online with about 16 other units this semester, and i really didn't have to worry about this one. everything is very straight forward and easy to understand. midterm and final were easy as long as you read the book.

this teacher was awesome, very funny and actually responds to email. i had her online class, and her assignments weren't too ahrd but her tests were difficult if you didnt read or participate with the forum posts. make sure to watch all the movies and read the book or your screwed.

Mrs. V is an awesome teacher! She gives you plenty of assistance and is MORE than accomodating; however, if you're someone who likes to cut class.. Beware, it seems like "movie time", but she does take roll randomly during film showings. You will truly learn to have more appreciations for films, especially if you dare do a student film.

this class was a little tough, you had to pay attention and study to get a good grade. and the paper is a tough one. but i got an A, so it can be done. she is helpful if you need it and you should definitely visit her in her office, she loves that. Also, she has a great sense of dry humor which kept me entertained throughout the semester. :)

Ok class if you are interested in film and production, etc. The DE schedule is pretty manageable and tests are not bad if you study.

Very fun class if you're into the film industry. Sometimes you get too distracted from watching movies that you forget you have work to do. Very simple assignments throughout the course. One paper/project. Powerpoints a little rushed/confusing. But she'll make a review sheet which is very helpful before a test. Fun teacher.

She's wacky and hilarious! I took Mass Media/Society and it was a pretty easy class, the quizzes are mostly open-book, and she answers any questions you have. Don't slack off on the handouts though, she gives out a ton of them and it adds up if you don't do them. It's a fun class, and you can really learn a lot if you pay attention.

Take her on campus classes.I had the online class and was okay but you miss out on the extra information. The online class you'll read the book, watch the films and do discussion board( be ready to put on your thinking hat). Make sure you do the extra credit quizzes. They do add up and may help at the end of the class.

One of my favorite classes to take. All you do is watch movies every single class day. And they're old school movies but good ones, like Hitchcook film and The Wizard of Oz. Test were open notes, homework was a bit difficult though. Take her, but DO NOT take out your cell phone during a film, she will literally hunt you down and smack you. :)

I appeared on the first day and her class seemed so easy, basically watching movies. I later decided to transfer to the online class instead. Bad idea. My friend kept saying her physical class was so easy, however her online class is too hard. And she even told me when she switched me over that it was tougher online. She's quite a character!

She's an awesome professor. The first time I took her I wasn't very pleased with the class, but the second time around I loved her. I'm guessing it was the environment we were in because the first class I took with her were always very quiet but the second class were very enthusiastic and conversed with her more than usual. She's very personable.

I've taken Professor V before for History of American Cinema. Her classes are never dull. I look forward to going to her classes every week and participating in the lecture. This is my second time taking Villeneuve's class and I've really enjoyed taking her classes. It was really hard for me at first, but I took advantage of the extra credit she offered for the class. Most of the points your accumulate are attendance quizzes on line. The only way you can take these quizzes is if you have a password. Unless you have a super nice friend that gives you all the passwords, then you need to show up to class to know what the passwords are. One paper is due around midterms. Open book tests. Good Films.

This definitely is not an "easy A random art class". You have to actually pay attention to the notes and lectures she posts (since it's an online class) if you want to do well. Answers aren't online so you actually have to understand what you're learning and study. She is a great teacher though and I have a lot of respect for her!

She was probably one of the most interesting professors I've had at Citrus. She's very funny and laid back. She has a ton of experience in her field so you know she knows what she's talking about. She cares about you and your grade as long as you care. This class wasn't a cake walk, the tests are actually pretty hard but just study, i.e. flashcards

Super chill, pretty funny too, she really does care about her students and really wants to help you succeed. Always there to help. Just make sure you do all the homework (which is like one discussion, and some weeks don't even have any) and you'll easily get an A.

This is my second time taking a class with Villeneuve and I'm already registered to take COMM 136 with her next sem! She's entertaining and passionate about what she teaches. This class is graded by discussions, replies, a writing assignment, and a quiz every week. I really enjoyed it!

I disagree with the person below. Everything in the online course is in modules, so if you don't work off the modules you might think things don't go together but they do. Her lectures are based off the book, so you don't really need it if you pay attention to the lectures. The lectures also have funny anecdotes and illustrations with film clips

I took ART 199 during the last 8 weeks of the spring semester. Each week consists of discussion posts and quizzes. The quizzes are based off her PowerPoints and some of the questions from the quizzes are used in her midterm and final exam. I didn't order the book that was needed for the class and did just fine.

Chapters are 50+ pages, and her lectures arent really about the material covered in the book. However her study guides are mostly based off on the book with a little bit of her lectures. This class was pretty easy, and she curves all the exams. The quiz questions are all on the exams and this class is mot cumulative. Easy class

Great class if you're into history/film/culture. Lot of work but its enjoyable. You'll mostly be writing a lot of short essays and peer doing responses. But there's a LOT of opportunities for extra credit, so don't worry about passing. As long as you give a decent effort, you'll be fine. Grades exams on curve too. Professor Villeneuve is very cool.

Look, I dont know what other people experienced but I had an emergency during Covid and I told professor V and she went out of her way to help me. She couldnt have been more understanding and sympathetic. BUT heres the thing: I told her about it, explained my problem and stayed in communication. I didnt just disappear.

Professor Villeneuve is THE BEST! I found her very concerned about her students when I was in her class. If I missed an assigment, she reached out to check on me and see if I needed help or had questions. She has extra assignments built in so she doesn't take late work, but you can make up the points other ways. Her class is interesting too!

Professor Villeneuve is hilarious, but you have to understand sarcasm and some people don't get it, if you know what I mean. Just keep up with the lectures -- they are available as videos and as text, so pick your poison. This class isn't that hard. I've never had a professor that had so many options regarding how to learn the material. Helpful!

Professor V is funny and engaging. Though her grading can be tough, her lectures and flexibility with assignments make the class manageable. unstuckstudy was a lifesaver for preparing for exams.

The class is fairly simple, watch a lecture/movie do an assignment based on that. It's also one of those classes where you can find everything done in-person in the canvas (lectures included) so it's really to catch up if you miss a class. Deadlines are super clear and overall a super easy class.

This professor is the goat highkey. She is definitely passionate about film and it shows. Honestly you have to try to fail this class. The assignments are very easy as she would say it's not neurosurgery haha… anyways it's definitely a fun class I would recommend.

The grading criteria is very clear from the start, so anyone who might've gotten bad grades most likely didn't follow it, as long as you follow it and pay attention your good! Very smiley person who presents quick and fun lectures. Homework involves writing short paragraphs or three for movie reports. In short, you have to try to fail this class because she is one relatable and great teacher. P.s: She often times just removes assignments because she feels like it and expect to hear a lot of family lore.
