Cool teacher... really helps alot. Teaches well, but you have to listen!
He is a really good professor. He tries to make things fun. Sometimes he will bring a lot of candy for the class. He goes over almost 75% of questions before the test. He has power points already made so its easy to learn. And pre-test games to help you study. Able to recieve extra credit.
hes a pretty good teacher but you really have to go to class if you want a class where you can skip and read the book later dont take him.
great teacher, very laid back. in his night class we get a good break and are let out about an hour early. reads off powerpoint for lectures which can be printed off blackboard, so u dont need to take notes. review those before the test and u'll make an A - especially since we are given half the answers beforehand. used to teach at south campus :)
well he is a really cool guy. sometimes he goes off base a little but the powerpoints are helpfull. He dosnt really care if you show up and lets you make up tests. all around a good class to take.
Good professor, has Vietnamese accent and was a little difficult for me to understand all but most of class had no problem. Don't need text, lectures from PowerPoint slides you print from blackboard, highlight what he stresses for test. Only 3 absences and you're exempt from finial. Plays jeopardy before each test with many of the exam questions.
Mr.T is super funny and very down to earth. The class is so easy that if you study at least two days before, you'll make an A. I took him for the winter mini and the notes were in power points. Mr.T will also play a game before the exams, so that it will help you. Make sure you sign up for him. You won't regret it!!!
Mr. T is very cool. He would give us two days for testing. We were able to choose what day was most convenient for us. I also found that he enjoys what he teaches and he also makes it very interesting.
Mr. T is San Jac's very best. You won't regret signing up for his course because he teaches with amazing techniques. Philosophy is a bit boring, but Mr.T makes it interesting, fun, and easy to comprehend the subject. He does not have an accent. His tests are easy. Make sure you study a day before, so that you can get an A. Hurry, Sign Up!
Pretty easy class...most people failed first test though. Print out the material before class and you should do okay...
Super Easy, Super Fun.
I took Prof Lam's distance learning beginner philosophy course over the first 5 weeks of summer. If you have self-discipline, I would recommend taking it. He was clear in his instructions, and very fair. I'm glad that I took it.
I have heard many good things about this Prof. and I'm sure that if you took his class in a classroom setting he would be great!! But I took him in a 5 week summer course and it was extremely hard for me!! I think he needs to incorporate some sort of semi-mandatory class discussion because this stuff can be hard to interepret on your own.
Really easy class. He didn't teach out of a book.We just used power points. He did the game before tests which really helped a lot.At the end we did a CAP paper.Really cool guy.
I took him a couple of sem ago and really enjoyed his class. He made the class pretty interesting. He let us choose which day we wanted to take our test most of the time and he dropped our lowedt grade so I didn't have to take my final because I was satisfied wih my other test scores. I would recommend the class. Also he doesn't teach from the book
Tests are directly from power points study them and make an A. Gives sample test questions and if you write a paper then he drops your lowest test grade. Gives extra credit and the class is really laid back. Really nice and cool teacher.
I don't think he is good and straight forward on all tests. Study material is not really related to the test and He seldom use the book. He reviewed the questions and did the test afterward. The review questions are not exactly on the test. If you want to get A, don't take him. Easy get C with no eassy!
I did not like that he does not get you interested in Philosophy, he just tells you what it is and that is it. I have had great semesters, but with him, it was very dull & not interesting enough.. I am taking the class again with new teacher.
Tests are directly from power points study them and make an A. Gives sample test questions and if you write a paper then he drops your lowest test grade. Gives extra credit for attending class and if you just show up for the round table discussion. The class is really laid back. Really nice and cool teacher.
this teacher is hard to learn from and he doesnt seem to care about his students. the review games don't even go over the material on the tests. he is bad
I took this class online in a summer session and it was pretty easy. We had 5 tests and a paper, but he dropped the lowest grade. I did well on the tests, so I didn't have to write the paper. He answers emails promptly, and gives study questions before the test.
I took this course online. If you know the material the tests are easy. If you're planning on not studying and looking up all the answers you are in trouble. He drops the lowest grade if you do a paper and grades the papers MORE than fairly. I suggest you do a paper. Post a lot on the discusion board and you'll be fine
McNally & Lam are very helpful. Post answers to discussion on BB & don't be afraid to RESPECTFULLY disagree with others. Exams are 40-min timed & points off for going over. Use "no grade" quizzes to study for exams. If BB freeze problems, contact for help. Exam 3-5 cover ALOT of info. Submit CAP paper to drop a grade. If not needed, don't.
I took Philo 1301 online during the spring semester. It was the easiest class from the other six i took. He allows enough time to read two chapters and take the test. Do the quizzes they will only help you yet they are not graded. Five test and a paper. Paper is not mandatory if you're making an A or B. Posting on BB is 2% extra credit on the test.
Great Teacher, class is super easy.
How boring?!? I made over 100 on every test. He was extremely supportive. As long as you speak up in class, he'll like you and reward you with favor. He asked me to write a paper, just to read it from my perspective. I liked him so much, I did it. Easy A++
I thought that this class was very interesting, and entertaining.I took the 3wk.mini.and managed an A.He gives you a choice on how to work through the class: you can either take multiple choice exams, or you can write a "CAP" (a paper on any philo topic) to replace any exam grade. So learn from lectures and make it more interesting by doing CAPs.
Good teacher. He made the 3 week mini class so much fun, and easy, as oppose to this subject's hard and dry nature. I didn't even buy the book and still managed to get an A, without doing the CAP paper. Attendance is important, cuz he will give you sample questions that you will definitely see again on the upcoming exams, and sometimes, donuts.
MR LAM IS A NICE GUY, HAS POWER POINTS THAT ARE VERY HELPFUL WHEN STUDYING FOR TESTS. HIS TESTS ARE DIFFICULT. BETTER KNOW YOUR MATERIAL!
Reading the book makes the tests easier. Go over the power points until you have them memorized and highlight key points. Using a recorder may make it easier to get all of the notes. Attendance is a must if you want to understand the material. Some of it is boring but hang in there. He's a great teacher.
Great teacher, tests will be easy if you attend class. His lectures are long but if you pay attention it will make sense and it's interesting. I would recommend him for an easy A an you learn a lot while you're at it.
Fantastic instructor highly recomend for any class he is teaching.I had no intrest in philosophy befor this class now I love it. go to class and pass. class was a lot of fun.
Ok so he gives a lot of extra credit which comes in handy, there are a lot of slides you need to know, but reading the book isnt necessary. although i made C's i did 3 cap papers and came out with a B 4 points away from an A. but considering how boring this particular course can be i am greatful....he is a good teacher and loves what he does.
Good teacher, and as long as you read the information provided (i.e. powerpoints) you should do fine. The sample test questions are a must and are on the exam. Make sure you study the powerpoints and you will do fine. Attendance is a must as well. If you dont attend, you will not do well, plain and simple.
I had Prof. Lam during the winter mini session, for his 1301 class. Prof. Lam was extremely helpful, and made the class very enjoyable. He will also provide students his powerpoint slides, and gives a review prior to exams. You will definitely learn something from his class, and it will change the way you think.
Easily one of the better teachers at San Jac. Has a genuine interest in the subject, easy to get along with and works hard at remaining neutral so others can make up their minds. If you feel you are intelligent, he will happily let the class discuss a subject out loud and at length. Easy to get an A, you learn plenty and only fail if you don't care
Good teacher for an easy pass. All I do is read over the powerpoint slides the night before and still get B's on the test. He has you read some chapters but I've done well without. He reviews before a test and is very laid back. You can write a CAP paper to replace any grade even the exam but its optional. 4 tests and extra credit offered in class.
Professor Lam is a really nice teacher! You can see the passion he has for philosophy! You better study for his tests! I found him to be nice, very knowledgeable, and cool :))) The tops! Take the class seriously and you will do just fine!
ONLINE EASY. Must read, but VERY VERY easy. Gives HUGE curves on tests Responds to emails & calls quickly. 4 tests (2 ch each) Optional paper will replace lowest test grade. Made and A+ so I didnt need the paper. Gives some questions in notes on BB & those will be on test. ONLY downside: 50 quest in 45 min. Just read & youll ACE it! Did I say EASY?
online 5 week class, is a bad idea if you dont have time to read the book- 50 question tests in 45 min. you dont have time to look up the answers and you dont get alot to study. I ha 2 other classes with this one and was swamped this was the hardest one b/c i had a hard time focusing onthe book- if you can read a txtbk pretty good go for it!
Honestly a great and fair professor; most of the classes were interesting. I missed class a few times and still made As and high Bs on every test just by studying the powerpoints. Only one or two questions come out of the book. If you are motivated to study for even about an hour, take this class.
Had him for intro to Phil. He was Awesome!!! Yes you do have to study but hey its college, an A is definitely possible. Just attend class, study the powerpoints, skim through the book, and go to the review games!
Loved the class. He jokes and is laid back. Loves to have class discussions. If you don't understand he will keep helping til you do. Tests are from powerpoints and lectures. Flexible with test schedules . Four tests . In class short answers and group discussion.
Intro to Phil 3 wk winter mini-- so glad I took his class! 4 tests, no comprehensive final in the mini. SIGNIFICANT curves on all tests. Powerpoints on Bb. Also, just a fun instructor-- very helpful, laid-back. HIGHLY recommend Lam in the mini!...and focus more on the Powerpoints for the test, less on the text.
Took summer online, very helpful, responds quickly. alot of reading but questions come straight from reading material. easy! 4 test one with a curve and chances for extra credit with every test. also an extra assignment to replace lowest test grade.
AMAZING TEACHER!! He has a passion for philosophy, loves the subject, is greatly open to discussion, and is really funny. FOLLOW THE POWERPOINTS FOR TESTS!! He's very chill and is willing to work w/ you to learn and will curve the tests. All around my Favorite Teacher so far! Choose him if you actually want to understand the subject.
Took the 8 wk online Intro to Philosophy. 4 exams, but dropped the lowest of the 4. Highly recommend this class if you want to fulfill the Humanities requirement. Not only did Prof Lam respond to every email I sent him, he did it quickly; that's very helpful in an online course.
Awesome Professor!! Passionate about the subject and well organized. He makes class fun and interesting and has a great sense of humor. He uses PP and readings of the book. There are 4 exams and an optional assignment to replace a low grade. Easy A..highly recommend him!!!
This professor is beyond one of the best people I've ever met. He's incredibly sweet and caring, also loves for you to speak up in class. He is the best and loved his class very very much
He is definitely too awesome. Enjoyed his class and one of my favorite teachers of all time. Everyone's gotta have a favorite!!!!!!!! You will love this class!!!! It's not boring. you will have the most fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Take his class, he's awesome! Can get away with not using the book, but will need the powerpoints. Has review days before every exam and gives lots of extra credit chances (lets class out early alot). And don't miss the beginning of class, he gives sample questions for the exams! Won't have to write the 6 pg. paper if you do well, which isn't hard.
I loved he's class took the 3 week mini he's an awesome teacher, very funny and sweet the class was kinda hard since it was a 3week mini but had alot of extra credit he likes for the students to give there opinion on topics i passed. take Mr lam his really cool
Took him for the three week mini! Fo who one of my fav professors! Makes class interesting with review games and discussions. Pretty much just skim the ch, study his power points, take notes in class and u should do fine, and if u fail a test u can always replace it up w/ a 4-6 pg essay. Only way u can fail IS IF U DON'T TRY!
Took 5 weeks class. Book is needed to have, and you need to put your effort into reading it to pass the class. Class is not too hard, but it does require you to read the book a lot. 4 tests with 50 questions per test and must be completed within 60 minutes.
Wonderful professor! Took online 5 week mini & extreme reading required. However, he was really helpful & cares about students.
I loved this class! He is a great teacher and doesn't make the subject boring! He is pretty funny as well. Took him for the whole semester, didn't really use the book that much but studied from his powerpoints. Got A's in all his tests. Best part, is that he curves all his tests!!!! Get to class on time ao you can get sample test questions (which are questions that will be on the test). If you do good, you will not have to write a paper!
Great professor! Discusses powerpoint in-class and posts PPT on BB as well! 4 lecture tests, has a review game the class before the test, and if you get early to class he'll post sample test questions, COPY THEM DOWN!!!! If you do well on all the tests, you won't have to write the paper! Overall, very clear and interesting professor! TAKE IT !!!!!
this really is a great class to take and i would recommend it to any college student. it really made me think about lot of things that i had never considered before, and the class itself was always interesting.
He is a very easy laid back teacher. However it seems he doesn't really care or that interested to teach. There is lots of extra credit opprotunity however he told us it would go on our final average and it did not so we wasted our time going to the debates. No reviews just have to study from the power points. Each test is like 60+ questions.
I took the 5 week class online. One of the easiest classes I've ever taken. All expectations are clear. This instructor give very generous curves on all tests. No cumulative final and paper is optional! You have to try really hard to fail this one! Highly recommend.
Professor Thi is great he is easy going the class is easy. He tells you exactly what is going to be on the test. You will have to read the chapters if you feel like you need more information although his power points tell you what you need to know. I highly recommend this class to anyone who works full -time. He has a sense of humor which is great
Currently taking his class online in a winter mini session (3 weeks) which ends in 12 days, 4 exams, all easy if you read the chapters, but not difficult at all either way.
Very laid back and funny. He is a great professor, and I loved how he would consider all sides to an argument when it came to lectures and learning about things. 3 exams and a CAP paper, very easy. Would take again if I ever needed any other classes that he teaches.
Just study the power points and the review game he gives and you'll be fine. Only grades are three test and optional 4 to six page paper, so you do have to study if you want an A.
He answers emails very quickly so communication is great. For the 4 exams, you have 50 questions to answer in 55 minutes which is not enough time. He gives reviews for all exams with 20 practice questions that will be on the exam. The CAP essay is not very difficult. LOTS OF READING and a lot of powerpoints to study. Not that hard to pass!
The textbook is dreadful to read. And he changes the reading assignments throughout the semester.
Professor Lam is probably my favorite professor. His class is very easy and he is extremely nice. It's easy to tell that he loves what he does. This was my first online class and I do not regret it whatsoever! Take him, you will NOT regret it!
Enjoyed the class, pretty easy but a lot of reading. Took online summer 5 week semester class consisted of 4 exams, One 4-6 page paper and had extra credit available on the discussion board. Recommend
I looked forward going to class because I new I would be leaving learning something new. Very funny and time goes by so fast because the lectures are so interesting. Only 3-4 test and an easy CAP essay (you choose the topic). Go to class because listening truly helps you remember examples for stuff for the test. Would take again!
Professor Lam was so easy! I failed with another teacher and came back with making an A in this class. Test are easy - study the powerpoints he provides you. The discussion extra credit pts do help your grade by a few points! Overall a really easy class. Oh, and you don't need the book in my opinion. He gives you everything you need for the test
He only has 4 exams and 1 essay, but there is a lot of reading and comprehension involved more than I expected. Need to memorize word by word. The topic is very confusing. But when you have a question he will answer you usually by night time that day. He has lots of power points, reading of 2 books, every exam is due every 3 weeks. Does have ex cre
Often at times I would get a little bored in class and lose focus but Professor Lam is really good at getting your attention again by showing interesting videos or talking about something controversial. Very easy class, if you obviously study for each exam. 4 Exams and one 4-6 page paper. Class made me even more open-minded to others.
Great teacher.
This class is truly a good class. He teaches, students participate, but, the class is really easy and the professor really helps you to do your best. Lots of extra credit! Tests are exactly what is reviewed in class and if there is anything from the books, the teacher will tell you! No surprises. Study a bit, read and you will have an easy A!
I took his 3 week mini and he was very understanding on the pressure and tried to lighten the load and give us a little leeway. Very smart, very kind. Fairly easy grader, just be sure to take good notes and pay attention! Emails back extremely quickly, always punctual. Shows cat videos when he thinks we're losing interest.
Took his Business Law class. He gave lots of extra credit. Total 4 tests. he will drop lowest test grade. One paper. Easy A
Took online. There are four tests and a final essay, and the lowest test is dropped. I thought I could skate through the tests using Google's help, but I was WRONG. You must read the books (which are actually cheap). Gives two points ex. cred on tests for answering discussion boards. The final essay is a handful, though. Don't procrastinate it.
Don't hesitate to take this professor! He has a clear layout of how to get to an A, allows for extra credit points on every exam and requires a critical analysis at the end of the semester which does not ask much of you. I would recommend really grasping the concepts of the readings and going over them twice. Best class I took this semester.
I really enjoyed Mr. Lams class, He was insightful yet a little humorous at times. It was a pretty simple class to pass. The only grades you have are 4 tests which he grades pretty easily, just take notes, read over them and show up. He gives a lot of extra credit for just participating.
Professor Lam makes Philosophy an interesting subject! He is great at explaining the material and gives extra credit. Test are easy just review the PowerPoint he gives you.
4 test ,lowest dropped and one 4-6 page critical Analysis paper. He gives you all his notes at the beginning of the semester. Most of his test questions comes from the power points instead of the books. 2 Discussion board postings can earn you a max of 4% on test grades. Highly recommend him.
He reads from power points that are on blackboard, gives up sample questions, and plays a game as a review. Lextures can be boring but he plays cat videos. Extra credit is offered and he grades 4 test
He's a really flexible professor to work with. If you miss a test he's very understanding and won't mind giving you the test another day. He puts all of his powerpoints online and will give a bunch of extra credit. However, there is a lot of reading to do in the powerpoints so be prepared to read. He's also shows funny videos during class.
Awesome teacher!!! There is a lot of reading involved ( I took this class online), there are about 4 tests and a Final argumentative essay.
Took online. Responds fast to emails. Four exams, final is optional. Very caring. Highly recommend. Provides "instructors comments" which is very helpful.
I took this for a 5 week summer course and wow the tests are quite difficult. But, if you read the books you'll be fine. I often almost ran out of time but it was overall a good class. Responds fast to emails and extra credit on every test. Also, the common assignment is straightforward.
His class was so easy. I took his honors class and it felt like i didnt have to do much work. Gives extra credit, reviews are easy, gives questions that are on the test at the beginning of the class. Take his class. Easy A even if you dont do alot of reading.
He is very lean back about attendance, he almost always made my class laugh when he was teaching, and the work is super easy, just read the book and power points and you will pass.
He is very understanding about grades and emails back very quick. There are only 4 exams and one final paper. The exams are very difficult which means you will need to read the power points. I thought I was going to fail the class, but I asked about an extra credit opportunity which helped a lot.
I loved this class. I had to take it as one of my extra credit courses and did not expect much but it became one of my favorite classes. Very easy to get a A in it as long as you study. Teacher is amazing and he's very funny. I also love the material he chose to teach. No homework at all. all you need to do is just study power points to get a A
I really had no issues with Professor Lam. His lectures could be boring at times, but the material remained interesting for the most part. It is hard not to do well in his class because of all of the extra credit opportunities he provides for each test. Much respect for this man- I'd definitely take him again.
He's a great professor. Taking this class made me create interest in Philosophy, I think it's awesome now. He's funny & straight forward. The whole semester he only has 4 grades, which are 4 tests. So study, pay attention, and make each test count. You have to earn your grade this class. If you study hard you should have no problem passing.
Great Professor but you do have to read the book. I am glad I did so well on the paper because the test were hard and I didn't think I was going to pass and ended with a B.
I'm not gonna lie, I've never been to a college before this, but I've heard professors are typically hard on students. My professor is really good to us and makes it an enjoyable class.
I took his 8 week course. It was a great experience! Professor Lam is honestly a pretty cool/straight forward dude. Further into the class, you will find how Philosophy ties in with many worldwide events/phenomenons. He gives 4 exams, and one essay. The essay replaces your lowest test grade. Overall, great class to take!
I took Lam's philosophy class as a honors course. Attendance isn't mandatory but he does take roll to see who is participating. Tests are straight off of powerpoint, memorize them and you will be solid. There's a total of 4 tests (he dropped our last test) and a 6-8 page paper (4-6 if not in honors) and presentation over it. Take this class! Easy A
Professor Lam is an awesome professor. You do NOT need to buy his book. There is one critical paper that is 4-6 page. You just have to pick an article and at the end of each article there is 3 questions and you just answer them. Super easy and he gives you at the end of the semester to turn it in. 4 tests. You can definitely get an A! QUIZLET HELPS
Prof. Lam is a great professor. I would definitely recommend him. You have 4 exams and the lowest grade will be dropped. Responds quickly to his emails. He gives extra credit opportunity towards each exam if you participate in discussion boards.
Took as a 16 week class, you do need his book!!! Readings come from there the paper will be based on it and from what i remember the majority of the tests go into detail from the book. 4 exams and 1 paper. need "from socrates to sartre small book 6-9 bucks. exams open book but 50 questions in 1 hour, do the questions you know then ones you dont
Professor Lam is an amazing teacher, took his PHIL 1301 class, and passed with an A. Gives you PowerPoint notes online so you can focus on his lectures. 4 Test and 1 term paper. Lowest grade is dropped. Recommend studying the PowerPoints because majority of the test is off them. With a few video questions on the test.
4 test total 1 common assignment He gives you the chance to take 3 test & replace the 4th test grade with the CA to be able to bring up your grade or you can do everything & he will take your 4 higher grades and average it out. He shows funny videos and gives a 10 min break he also gives extra credit before every test everything is on powerpoints.
Overall this is a very easy going professor and he will do anything in his power to help you pass the class. He gives extra credit and his lectures basically go over what the test will be. He says he will drop the lowest grade you get but I think he may have forgot to drop mines, nonetheless I passed.
Really good professor, everything is simple in this class. Only thing that I didn't like was the long tests, usually 50+ questions. Besides that this class is bearable.
Prof. was amazing. You can tell he is passionate about Philosophy. He is relatable and hilarious, truly. His tests were easy--do the reviews and go over the lecture powerpoints. Definitely take this guy!
Great Professor, grades are made up mostly of exams. His lectures are long, but easy as long as you study you should be able to make an A.
Great professor his syllabus is very clear of what his expectations are review the material provided and you will pass.
Such a chill professor. Only grades 4 exams and drops 1 if you do the critical analysis paper and replaces it with your lowest test grade. Gives everyone a 100 for the paper so do it if you need an exam grade dropped. Offers extra credit for every exam super easy its just discussion boards. Ended with a 79 & rounded my grade to a B. TAKE HIM!
This professor was awesome! I took this class as an online 3 week mini and made an A. You do have to pay attention, but the information provided is exactly how the tests are. I choose professors based on ratemyprofessor only and the ratings here are accurate! YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY TAKE THIS PROFESSOR, TRUST ME!!!!!!!!
Took him for a 5wk summer class! The power points are where the answers are at for the exams (4). He drops your lowest exam grade and gives extra credit through discussion boards. He also pretty much gives 100's out to everyone on the paper (1)! Just make sure to try your best and stay organized! I recommend this professor to anyone, he's awesome!
best professor ever taken.
I didnt use the textbook, he provides powerpoints. There are 4 exams including Final, and signature assignment. A few discussion boards. Passed with a high B. Very easy! However, he doesnt do reminders at all.
Few grades, but they are easy and the class is quite easy to pass
TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! I took his 8 week online class and I am glad I did. The text book is needed. There are three test and a Thesis Paper. Read the book and the content he gives and you will do great. I am going to take his class every chance I get.
This was an easy class as long as you read the textbook! Theres 4 tests over the chapters in the textbook and 1 paper at the end of the semester, no assignments. He was very laid back and nice! 10/10 would recommend!!
I enjoyed his lectures. His passion for philosophy made me more interested in philosophy. Take him you wont regret it
I took his online class, and I only had to study several chapters for 4 exams. The final exam was the 4th exam, and writing an essay was optional. His class was laid-back and easy!
Good lectures ! Hes awesome super passionate about his topics. Youll understand and is interesting. Zero stress in that class just study the chapters and youll be fine. Everything is on the chapters & lectures and it is easy.
Good professor and easy to pass, but class is boring since he's really monotone. No homework. The only grades were 4 exams and a final paper. Replies fast to emails. Passed mainly by quizlet and having notes next to test.
Professor Lam is caring, helpful, and replies to emails with your questions quickly. There is 3 test, about 40 questions timed 50 minutes, and one final 4-page essay. Allows you a chance to write another 4-page essay to replace the lowest test grade. The essay seems like a lot but is not just do what he asks you to do, and it's an easy A.
I was hesitant on taking this class because I was never interested in Philosophy, but TAKE HIM!! The online class consists of 4 tests, about 50 questions each and given 1 hour to take. You HAVE to read the readings and PowerPoints to get a good grade (A or B). One paper that consists of 4-6 pages due the last day of the semester. 1 test grade drop
Professor Lam was a great professor! His lectures were read from a PowerPoint, but very easy to follow and comprehend! The only grades in the gradebook were 3 tests and a presentation... but don't worry he will help you out if you fail!
10/10. TBH best professor ever!! His test are very easy. All content for the test is located in the powerpoints he makes. He is super lenient. He literally gives you like a week to turn in your exams. He even brought us donuts once. 100% would take again
An excellent professor. He is kind and understanding. He ensures to tell you prior to exams all that is necessary to study while providing it on blackboard and in class lectures.
This professor wasn't crazy hands on, but his syllabus was crystal clear, and he had powerpoints that went over the material. If I have to email him for anything, he was prompt and responded within a day. Would definitely take him again.
Only 3 exams, 1 essay. All lectures have powerpoints that are 90+ long, pay attention to quotes, do the discussion boards, you will need to decide on an essay topic yourself it is not super structured like an English essay would be. I would take again now that I know how his online class is set up but for me I probably would do in person if I could
The professor is passionate and makes philosophy engaging. Studying the textbook chapters and using study tools like unstuckstudy are key to doing well. Manageable workload and straightforward grading make this an easygoing class.
Professor Lam is a very respectable professor to have. Relaxed yet sufficient when it comes to lectures. If you want a better class experience, please speak your views! He likes it when the classes have discussion on the topic at hand. Only 4 tests and an optional paper you can do to bring your grade. Would take again!
I feel like I would have enjoy his class better if it was a face to face. His online class wasn't bad, read the PowerPoint for his lecture exams. 3 Exams, 1 Essays, and few DB. Do his discussion board. He sent out announcement when assignments and exams are open and due. He treated you as an adults and the class was straight to the point.
I took his class during this winter mini, and I can't describe how amazing it is. One just needs to read the PowerPoints for his 3 lecture exams (2.5 extra credit points), and complete a few discussion board posts. I would have liked to take him for Ethics, but the enrollment for his online classes was already full. This shows how amazing he is.
This class was ridiculously easy. Everything is on his PowerPoints. The professor sends announcements for everything. I was so lucky to enroll in his Ethics course since I was the last one to enroll. Take him, you won't regret it!
Made a 103 for this class! The professor is really clear with instructions and makes it very easy for you to succeed in his class. He even offers discussion boards as extra credit. There is a free textbook that comes with the class but isn't necessary to read since he has PowerPoints for each chapter. I would definitely recommend taking his class!
This was by far one of my favorite classes. The professor is very understanding about absents and tardiness and will work with you with late work. His lectures are fun, getting the whole class involved creating a really fun environment the exams you want an easy class this is the professor is for you no assignments no homework.
the answer was A for every test. i didnt belive it until i took the third test unfortunately.
He didnt seem too enthused about teaching a field he knows a lot about, which kind of sucked as I was looking forward to expanding my philosophy knowledge by taking this class. You only have to take tests in his class, which is both a strength and a weakness, as they're easy, but you're not taking away that much info with the lack of assignments.
