Dr. Herrmann was one of my fave profs. He had me cracking up every lecture.

I loved his lectures. He made boring material fun to learn. Great sense of humour! His exams were a little tricky, but in overall he is one of my fave profs.
I think this guy may be cracking up. If you like food and talking about it, take this course with him.
Hey was good, but his lectures had nothing to do with the exams. If you have a intro course with him, make sure you have a very strong Biology and Stats base, becuase the exams have very little to do with Pysc theories and other material.
1st, big dif btwn 1100&1200. 1200 easier! His online modules for 1100 are HARD. Find a group of ppl to do them with. Impossible to pass alone! If you like bio, take 1100. If not, take 1200

He is always disorganized, and he doesn't know how to spell. His exam and lecture have a correlation coefficient of 0.00. All he likes to talk about is food and how fat he is getting. Worst prof of all time.
I took this DE. His TAs answered all our questions. The course itself was awesome - I went into the exam with an 86. THen i came out with a 76. The exam will get you for sure!
urk. blah. his lectures were completely useless, and provided no valuable information. yet he included this useless information of exams! A prof to be avoided.
He's awesome. I had a great time in his class and learned a hell of a lot. I also respect him a great deal because he has dyslexia and managed to get a PhD.
Very strange. Really makes me laugh sometimes but the lectures are often plagued with technical difficulties. Information given during lectures is often so subtle and so informally presented you wouldn't expect it to count for 8% of a test mark! WATCH OUT
Great guy. Willing to help you out a lot if you want to put in the effort. He can be unclear at times but funny as heel too. Solid guy. Ignore the haters.
I don't like him. I found him very unapproachable. His lectures are misinformed and he tests on the same misinformed and irrelevant information. His humour is at best irritating. Going to that class put me in a bad mood.
He barely goes over the course material, and he often jokes around and pauses. I felt like it was a waste of my time to go to class.

I dropped his class because his exams were brutal, he has a lot of knowledge, but he does have attitude and is pretty intense, so not for the faint of heart...

Kind of an oddball...most of the material that he tests on isn't covered in his lectures, do to his constant ramblings on random tangents...also he has kind of a phlegm problem...

Most of what I have to say about this man involves the use of much profanity ... which would be sensored out. So all you need to know is run, hide, go far far away - but don't take any of his classes ever!
he YELLS at the class during his RANDOM lectures that are more geared towards his own definitions than anything in the textbook/readings, AND he pulls RANDOM names to put on his exams! NOT a good prof...possibly the worst lecturer ever!
Everything you read below is dead wrong. If you disagree you are wrong. Holy crap. This one time Hermann was teaching and I was like "Whoa! This guy kicks ass." Seriously. He puts the "fun" in psychology. Hermann-tacular prof.
He's kind of weird and boring to listen to...I'm not a huge fan. The exam featured many "According to lecture, Dr. Hermann said:" questions, which are absloute BS if you ask me. Other than that, exams are decent. Not a great prof.

the kind of prof you either love or hate. entertaining lectures, can be pompous though. but his module system is the easiest to do well in compared to seminars
Good Guy. Good Lectures. However he likes to ask really obscure questions... so be advised. AND DO READ THE TEXT BOOK!

HATED this class....lectures are really of no use to you for the exams...its basically all the text book which he doesn't even cover in the lecture(at least not all of it)....why didn't he just make it a DE course?
****, unfunny and has no clue what he is talking about. I cringed in the neurolab whenever he would stop by because he would teach us the wrong stuff!
Worst prof I've ever had. I had to walk out of his lectures more than once because I was so angry with the lack on intelligent thought going on. And he's always around on campus...ugh. Hope I never see him again.

I really enjoyed class. He was pretty hilarious is an odd way. Stick with the modules and you can do really well. Read the textbook, do study guide tests, go to class: you'll do really well. Got over 80 in course.
Dry humour made class bearable. Biggest problem with him was that he made you buy this damn book that he edited which had very little to do with the course. He wouldn't put any copies in the library either. Just wants to make money off us poor students so he can have multiple vactions a year.

Funny, but didn't seem like anything he said in class was on exams...
Fantastic teaching ability. Just go to class, take notes (which he provides on web ct), and read the text book and you are guaranteed an 80! Funny guy, only complaint would be making us buy his book, it really wasn't needed.
This class sucks ... he is so sarcastic and when I e-mailed him with a problem, he would get back to me quickly, but with like 10-20 word e-mails ... half assing his responses ... the TA's were a better help then he was ... his exams were so stupid to .... like "Professor Herrmann thinks..."
Unbelievably boring, a new low..Not funny but tries to be...he probably does know his stuff...he just does not teach it very well. If it was not my major I would be out of there...waste of time for everyone in the class with him as a prof.
Great prof! Just show up to class, read the text and you will do fine! Exams are tough but all you have to do is study. He makes the content very understandable, and adds humour to the mix. I have had him twice now, and he is one of my faves.
Don't like his teaching style at all, puts students on the spot and embarrasses them...but outside the classroom he is more approachable.

I find his lectures hard to understand.
This guy is boring and hard to listen to, but once in a while he adds some interesting components to his lectures. Doesnt have much enthusiasm at all

Worst prof I've ever had. He makes me SO angry! REALLY boring, powerpoints don't make any sense, tries to make stupid jokes but they're RARELY funny! I just can't stand him! It must mean that I really like pysch or something, b/c I was still interested in the MATERIAL, just not him! RETIRE ALREADY!!

He often has technical difficulties in class (but that could be due to being in War Mem.) He compliments the textbook. You have to go to lectures to do ok on midterms. I love his module system. You can learn at your own pace. He reminds me of a fun loving grandfather. Not a bad prof overall.
He's really not that bad of a man! He was very helpful and understanding with me.. His lectures aren't the best, but it's all in the text. It's only an hour, and he's usually interesting, you just have to read the text as well as go to lecture to get a good mark.

I had him for the drug action course and he was great! He goes off on tangents and if you email him his answers are cryptic but he's much better if you go and talk to him in person. Great class and a great Prof!
couldn't pronounce words like hypothesis correctly, lecture notes made no sense and weren't even complete sentences, rude to students, couldn't speak coherant sentences, going to lectures was probably more detrimental to midterm marks than helpful. I found I did better after I stopped going to his lectures and trying to understand him.

HEART ATTACK WAITING TO HAPPEN. He has a total Type A personality, and its his way or the highway. Tells students they are stupid to thier face, has no patience for anything, and totally utterly unhelpful. Avoid him is at all possible.

BRUTAL...that's all there is to it. he doesn't make sense, goes off on HUGE tangents, his lecture notes don't make a lot of sense (he doesn't follow them anyways)...there are just too many things wrong to list them all

A brutally honest, cynical, and self-interested professor. This is good or bad depending on your own sense of humour. He is entertaining, but unclear enough to get a full education on the basics of psyc. Read the textbook, consult the TA's, and then rely on Herrmann for a laugh at the lectures.

Rambles, goes off-topic too much without being interesting, and can be very boring. Sometimes he'll suddenly say something important and you miss it. He's very funny sometimes, in a twisted, odd sort of way. A lot of people leave his lectures in the middle, or just plain don't show up. Certainly not the worst prof, but don't count on him.
herrmann is sometimes interesting with his cynical, crude and twisted humour. he likes to go off on tangents and tell stories, which is cool except for the fact that it becomes hard to distinguish between the stories and what is really important. you can miss important things when you're off in dream land, tuning out his dreary outlook of the world
the exams are super hard... and the questions come from left field, so you are expected to know WAY more than the textbook. the lectures are useless. he goes off on random tangents that really don't apply, and because we only have class twice a week he rushed through slides. so its a lot of independent learning, and very tough exams. not much fun.
Expects you to know material that isn't in the textbook. His lectures are totally useless, except for the random bits of important exam content he'll occasionally drop in the middle of his irrelevant ranting. Avoid him if you can.
He's the worst prof I've had so far. He's ****, offensive, can't spell, doesn't know basic grammatical rules. He makes fun of mentally handicapped people. He attacks people who put up their hands in class. He forces everyone to but some stupid book he edited so he gets royalties. Absolutely horrible.

Funny guy, likes to go on weird little rants (perhaps minored in history of philosophy?) and has a really crude sense of humour ("I want to know how you do it" "I like little boys" etc..) which can make class interesting. Agreeing with most people tho, hard to tell what is relevant. Easy to daze off in lectures. Sometimes alieninates students.
Herrman is awsome, i go to the lectures juut to hear his stories. If ur looking to learn and prepare for the examn then read the text and a few key points he makes in lectures, other than that just laugh and take that cucumber out of your ass if you think he is a bad prof. He knows his stuff and keeps everybodies attention.
WORST TEACHER EVER! No, he doesnt even deserve the tittle teacher, because he doesnt teach anything. Everything I learned from that class I had to teach myself, because this guy just rambles on about nothing. The exams are ridiculous. You can study your a** off and still not do very well. The university and students deserve a much better professor!

His exam questions come from left field and seem to have no relevance at all unless you studied the text for 20+ hours before the final. Definitly cannot slack in his class! The text is a lot more helpful then he is, but his story telling is amusing. I'm sure he's a nice guy, but he not a great prof.

the absolute worst prof i have ever had.
Pretty good prof overall and I was able to understand most of the material clearly. My grades are usually within the B range and didn't find his class to be any different. His jokes in class made the dry material a bit better.

The hermanator is a great guy hilarious if you dont love him youre mean hes a great teacher but you do have to use your text book love ya hermann
