it's impossible to fail his class. he gives you all your answers for your tests and gives you so much extra credit that even if you did get an F on a paper or test, you would still get an A!! and he hardly ever takes roll.

yea.. and even he says *the only way you can fail is if you dont show up or you're not conscious* =P

I love him! He makes theater fun & interesting! He also makes it very clear what is required to get a good grade in his class. He's also HOT! Too bad he's married. =(

great professor ..lecture based learning. very clear and good teaching techniques. i almost failed because i got lazy on an extra credit assignment and turned it in, kinda copy & paste mainly. he let me off as long as i got an A on the final, i did. =)

He's great teacher! He's passionate about his subject, and enthusiastic about sharing it with students. He's funny too! I learned a ton about theater. His grading is fair, and he goes the extra mile to push students to do their best! I his loved class!

I really enjoyed his class. It was more interesting than I thought. The class was not extremely difficult, however, in the end I realized I had learned more than I bargained for. He really knows his stuff! He is not easy..but fair!

He is the most handsome Professor at GWC. He looks like a movie star more than a teacher. He is very intelligent, caring, funny, good lecturer and so cute. I am waiting to come to his class.

His acting classes are very fun, yet educational and challenging at the same time. There's no written work. All he asks is that you show up and give it your best shot. I learned things about analyzing and performing scenes that I didn't know existed. I highly recommend this class, and yes he is hot.

Tom Amen is an outstanding Professor,marvelous Director who has been very special to me.The lessons I learned not only in his classroom,his plays,but also by his behavior that will help me a lot in my future. I have a lot of funs in his class. I wish this semester would never end. Thank you,Tom.

This class is great for anyone interested in theater!Tom gives everyone involoved individual attention, gives you a new outlook on theater, acting and helps create a greater sense of selfworth and confidance. I would highly recommend this class, not only is it enlightening but quite enjoyable!

Professor Amen is great teacher! He energetic and enthusiastic. He make learning interesting and fun. Hefunny and very cute and work hard to make you laugh while you learn. He is my favorite teacher I have had. He is a fair grader, and he trys hard to make sure you understand and learn.

After taking professor Amen's class, I brought out a lot of lessons learned from him with me: his passion about theater, and impressed students with his amazing sense of humor. Learning is fun, but not so stress nor boring if you are lucky enough to be in his class.

more the 1/2 of our class was asleep everyday and yet everyone passes with flying colors. if you have a pulse and show up for the review (he gives you ALL the question verbatim) there is no possible way not to get an A.

Mr.Amen is a cool teacher. He makes learning interesting and fun. He is great at making it clear and easy to understand. He is also great at making history of theater fun and interesting, because he relates other time periods to today. If you listen, and study the notes and test reviews, you'll do great. this class is really easy. there is a mid-term and a Final and a paper on a play plus he gives extra credit. attendence counts. take notes especially on review day because he tells you everything that will be on the test. very easy A

he was very helpful,and made the class intresting and fun... was not at all boring and taught very well and made his point clear on what he was teaching.. everything that was on the review was on the test... very strict upon lateness but overall his class was a great.

EASY!!! And if you take him in the winter or summer you don't have to write the paper he usually assigns just DON'T BE LATE and TURN OFF YOUR CELL PHONE!

the most easiest teacher i had ever taken. i didn't even have to buy the book, he gives the answer to the questions in the same order. take notes, be on time, turn off ur cell phone, attend his review for the test, and have Fun!!!

He is an easy going teacher. Make sure u take his class. He teaches fast and u need to take note in his class. dont buy the book Just take notes make sure u'll be in the class the day he is reviewing for the midd-term and final. take those notes...because they are exactly what he tells u what is in the test.take his 4 week class.easy for even ESL.

Great class!I'm not a theater major,but it was fun and interesting.He is very clear,and if you listen,you'll learn a lot and do great on his exams.The tests are fair,no trick questions.I took it in Spring and we had to write a paper and see a play.Play was great!He really likes to teach,treats students great.BE ON TIME, NO CELL PHONE,TAKE NOTES!

Very very easy class! I really enjoy his class because he created a very friendly atmosphere and presented his lecture very well. It's so hard to not get an A in his class. Just as long as you show up, take notes and be there on the review day, you'll easily end up with an A!

Easiest class ever. You will definitely get an "A". You'd have to be a real idiot to get a B or lower in this class. I was **** in this class everyday and managed to get an A.

He pushed me to do my best! He was tough, but he BELIEVED in me. He pushed me to take risks on stage. I struggled hard at times, but I knew he really cared, and was doing what he had to do to get a performance out of me. HE DID! My fear turned to POWER and COURAGE onstage. It was so AWESOME! this class is intersting but you have to be a real idoit not to at least get a passing grade. He has lots of extra credit and that assignments aren't really that hard. So good luck!!

HE IS REALLY EASY AND FUNNY. HE LOVES TO TEACH ABOUT THEATER AND HELP U A LOT. THE TESTS ARE EASY AND ONLY 1 ASSIGNMENT AND 2 TESTS (MID-TERM AND FINAL). VERY EASY TESTS HE REVIEW EVERYTHING WITH U. REALLY NICE TEACHER. TAKE HIM. IF U JUST SHOW UP TO HIS LECTURE THEN YOU'LL PASS AND GET AN "A"

Tom is informative, entertaining, and very EASY. Attendance is a MUST, but I received an A without much studying or work done at all. With that said, you'll still acquire a lot of knowledge about theatre. Now that is a good teacher.

This class is very easy but sometimes boring bc he mostly just lectures for the whole time, til the end. No hw, must see a play and write a paper about it, midterm/final super easy. Just be in class for the review bc he tells you everything that's on the exam, in the same order! The EC he offers is great too. You probably won't need it though.

i took this over the summer and it was easy. just study the study guide he gives you.

He is a really easy teacher. you do need to show up to class. he gives you all the questions exactly like its going to be on the test during the review. all you have to do is memorize them. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK! you will not need it. u have to attend 2 play;two test; one paper; one extra credit play. EASY A. on the paper just follow the instruction

If you ever had any interest in being in a theatre production, Tom is the guy to do it with. He is very encouraging as a director, and the quality of shows they put on at goldenwest are outstanding. No experience is necessary and i am proof that he will take chances on inexperienced actors. I had the time of my life in the last show... Thanks Tom!

As a teacher Tom Amen is great! As a director he's BRILLIANT! I was in his prod. of Cripple of Inishmaan and none of the cast wanted the show to close! The productions at GWC are often times better than the surrounding Community and professional theaters. This was an incredible experience! I recommend auditioning for the next season!

He's funny, gives interesting lectures, always review for upcoming tests, and it also wouldn't hurt to mention that he's a good looking fellow.

He's a really cool guy and when he teaches he's awesome... but we've watched at least 6 movies so far this semester and although its nice to kick back every once in awhile, he puts the movie on and leaves the room as if he has something more important to go do. we are paying him to teach right? But its an easy A. He gives test reviews word for word

Awesome director and person overall! I love Tom! If you fail any of his classes, you either never showed up and you didn't try. Don't take his acting classes unless you plan on putting some effort. Whether you have years of experience of none at all, he will expect you to do your best, and he in turn will do the best to help you.

Tom is an excellent professor of the dramatic arts. He is an actors director. He will take your insights and choices and tell you if they work and why they work. If they do not work he will also let you know why- let you try them out to see for yourself. A very open director and one that will allow you to find the arch of the character-PROFESSIONAL

This class is an easy A. You don't need to buy the book at all if if you do it's only less than $40 dollars. You only take 2 exams and the final is the easiest. He won't teach in the Spring of '11 cause he's taking a sailing trip to S. America but will resume in Fall of 11. Take his class. Easy A

Class was great. Working with student directors was also fun. Disagree with other comment; NOT just a beginning acting class...it's more a workshop for actors and directors of ALL levels. You learn by working on scenes with people maybe better than you. Not a class for unmotivated or timid.

Super Duper easy. Class is somewhat mandatory the FIRST 2 weeks then you can skip all the classes and still get an A. Just show up on test review days and of course test days. Thats it! Thats exactly what I did..and I got an A! He is a cool teacher but theatre can get boring so I skipped. Tests consist of 75 questions but they are EASY!Review helps

Tom Amen looks intimidating, although he is nice and easy. There are frequent videos to watch in class. Class consists of midterm, final, 2 plays, response paper, and 1 extra credit play. On review days, he gives test questions word for word so there is no possibility to fail his class unless you do not show up to review. Overall, enjoyable class!

Tom in his theater 100 class is very laid back. One midterm and a final. It is mandatory you go see one of the plays that semester, preferably the one he directed. You just have to make a review on it. Easy A. His acting class on the other hand. As long as you show up and memorize your lines your going to get an A.

I was not looking forward to taking this class, but Tom made it very fun. His lectures were long sometimes, but he made them interesting by giving examples that students are able to connect to. 1 midterm, 1 short easy write up on a play, and 1 final. He gives you the answers to the midterm and final. Mandatory have to see 2 plays. Very easy A.

I really enjoyed this acting class and thought Tom did a great job - patient and understanding that I was new to acting. I would recommend any first time actor to this class and especially to Tom as an instructor.

I loved this class! Film storytelling at its best. This was my first time taking a class in cinema and wasn't sure what to expect. Was more about the message of classic films (all genres) than technicality of film making. Was fun anticipating each week's film selection. Tom was really cool and passionate about the course, made me more interested.

Tom Amen is one of GWC's best teachers. He is understanding and gives the feedback that is necessary when trying to become an actor. The beginning acting class is a great place to meet unique students. It's an easy a yet he gives you the room to always improve yourself. He's a good director too. His shows are fun to be in or to watch.

I'm so much more confident after my two acting classes with Tom, and can't wait to work with him in one of his awesome productions - hopefully next season! Tom is fun, encouraging, and pushes you to do your best! Take his class, you will love it! No textbook required. Very fair grader! Most of all, a super fun, confidence building class!

If you're looking for an easy A, this is your class. Just show up, pay attention, and maybe take notes. It is 100% lecture. No homework. One paper - super easy. Gotta watch two plays - around 20$ each. He'll call you out for talking with friends or being on your phone. Don't do that.

I really loved this film class! We got to see some great films, and great discussion afterwards. Tom is great at explaining what goes into the film's story and any controversies which made it really interesting. I definitely recommend Tom's class on film!

Honestly, he is the easiest professor to take (not saying it's a bad thing). Simply because he's very straight forward and easy to listen to. Some movies were OK, some I regretfully slept through. Unfortunately, our class session didn't last due to COVID-19 so we have to transition our format to online-class. Overall, great professor!

Professor Amen is an engaging and dedicated teacher. Ive taken his classes both on campus and online, and both formats were great! He knows his stuff and cares about his students. I was really struggling this fall, and he was super patient and supportive. He really stepped up to help me get myself back on track, and finish the semester strong!

Wow! Great class and Professor! Layout of the course was very clear, concise, and easy to follow! Moreover, Tom made the the course interesting and fun - his contagious enthusiasm for both the subject matter and his students jumps off the computer screen! Amazing Professor!

This class was SO easy. There are 16 discussion posts, one per week, a midterm and final--not lockdown and two chances. The discussion posts was just answer a question about the movie of the week but I didn't have to watch any of them and still got full points. Def recommend for an easy elective
