great teacher - treally knows his stuff and great at teaching it to others
He's good! Loves to teach, explains everything well.
Great class, great teacher. You can actually learn something from this class. He even lets you out really early sometimes!
very helpful and explains in everything in great detail
He's great! Not only is he a great teacher, but some of the things he says are soo funny!! Love him!!
Berry is the "mac" daddy of the finance department..awesome class, he's VERY straightforward and understanding, a true asset to DePaul University!
He left class for 2 1/2 weeks without even telling us! A cool guy but is unreliable when you have questions. He doesnt answer your questions or really explain answers. I would avoid him.
He is really cool & funny. He did leave class but I got a C and REALLY didn't deserve that. He is probably the coolest finance teacher we have, and easier than most. All you have to do is study the worksheets & you can do well on tests. DO take him!
yo, dont believe the hype. yea he's cool, laid back and all, but his tests are hella hard and you really dont get a chance to make up for minor mistakes. he has this sinister smirk,
Ok so he may be laid back and all!!! but his tests are hard, and he mumbles alot. I didnt like him, plus he says one thing and does another, he says he will help u and then he says he cant because it would be unfair to peers! Take him at your own risk!!!

Is an extremely helpful teacher. Explains everything to the fullest. He makes class worth going to. He is very funny! The tests are easy if you know the worksheets he gives in class. There is no other finance teacher as cool, take this class!
I was in the summer class with the two Broomhilda's that are complaining - the fact that they didn't fail shows what a good guy he is. True, he socializes with the girls..but we flirt with him. He's extremely smart and down to earth. Very fair grader. Ea
I was terrified of taking Finance and he made it clear and simple. He is really funny, and his quizes are exactly like his worksheets, so no complaints there. I definitely recommend him.

He is laid back, but his tests are difficult. He is a pretty tough grader.
One of the best teachers I have ever taken. He is very helpful. I have learned a lot from him. He is not easy, but if you keep up, you will do well. I would highly recomend him!!
Absolutely awesome. Material isn't all that easy, but he makes it seem like it is. Lectures are great. Take notes, come to class, do the worksheets, and you will be fine. He says the strangest things sometimes, but everything he says is HILARIOUS.
Great professor, even though the material is not all that interesting, he makes it fun with his funny remarks, only 2 quizzes and a final, just do the homework, worksheets, and take notes, and you will do fine
2 tests worth 50% of grade, comprehensive final worth 45%, and homework worth 5%. Do homework assignments and worksheets and you should do fine. Teacher is funny and fairly easy to understand. I definitely reccommend him, as he seems to be the best finance teacher.
He is a great professor. Not only is he clear and concise, he is also really funny. I highly reccomend taking him for finance.
Good professor overall! His standards got harder this year because the Finance Department is taking some heat. I still suggest taking him for this class. Got a B when I should have probably gotten an A.
Dr. Berry was the best proffissor i had for finance. He teaches very good and his tests are very eassy.
Berry rocks!! He is the best professor at DePaul and should win teacher of the year. He's really good at what he does and makes the class fun and interesting. Best of all, he's pretty hot for a 40 year old!!!
Great teacher, I thought he explained stuff very well and prepared you for Exams. He provided chances to pull up your grade as well. It was a fun class and I really enjoyed it. I also got an A so no complaints!
I have professor Berry and he was awesome. Very funny and very helpful. He take it into consideration that you ask for him. Study your notes and inclass worksheets and you'll do fine. If I can take him again, I definitely will.
FIN is FUN and UNDERSTANDABLE again! Funny, clear, precise, helpful! Realizes ur a college student and u have a live outside fin. Pay attn, do the hw. If u dont get something, ask and hes more than willing 2 make sure u get it IN class! Dont BS inclass wkshts, they help u ace quizzes, midterm +final
This is the best Prof to take if you are trying to get FIN 310. He is very down to earth and shows the class how to do everything w/o buying a financial calulator. So you actually do learn more than simply pushing buttons.
i should have failed the class for plagiarism, but dr.berry helped me and other students like me to correct our mistake and continue on with our education. take this man for the class, he will always help you. i'm indebted to him.

BERRY IS THE MAN!! Amazing I tried to take Lim's stupid A** and hated finance.Berry rocks! You actually learn and understand finance its not that hard. He's also nice! Don't be afraid to take his class
I have had Berry for 310 and 392 now and he is the best teacher I have had. He relates to what a student is going through and makes class funny. Never laughed so much in a class.
All you have to do is show up and pay attention. His test are based on his classnotes.
He is the best professor. He makes everything very clear in his lectures. You still have to do the work, but if you pay attention you'll do great! :-)
great teacher, even better person. he actually enjoys what he does and is a very good teacher. i actually enjoyed taking finance, who can say that? i learned a lot from him. if you need finance, take him.
great effective teacher. one of a kind!!!
I actually looked forward to Finance class. He makes things a lot easier to understand than in the book. He's definetly worth taking.
great teacher, i learned alot in his class, he makes the material very easy to understand and id love to take him again, fair grader
he rocks! he actually likes his job and students. Show you have an interest in the class and you will pass. love him!
Berry dilutes the DePaul educational experience. He does not teach the use of financial toolkits on case study nor does he bother with explaining the actual approach to case studies. I think he just doesn't care...
Best finance teacher there is. I learned so much! Has handouts and homework that is later reflected in exams and quizzes. You cannot do bad if you go to class and do the homework. Makes finance easy and understandable. I didn't even open the book - except to do homework - and I got a A.

Sign up for him if he's open. He is a good teacher. Tests are from the hand outs he gives in class. You have to kiss ass in order to an A. PRetty easy, but ask him what to do inorder to get an A besides doing well on homework and tests.
Awesome, Awesome, Awesome. You will do fine in the class as long as you attend. Exams are just like homework and in-class worksheets. You must have interest in the subject to do well, because he can tell if you are just going to try and get an easy A. Must try and act like it and he will like you - and you will do well.
I LOVE BERRY... He truly is an awesome professor, more like a friend than teacher. The quizzes were ok, midterm and final were sort of hard. It depends on how much effort u wanna put in, is how much you'll get back. It's not an easy class, but he makes it seem easy, simplifies everything and gives useful handouts. He's one of my favorite professors
Enjoyed the class. He's a fair prof. with a good sense of humor.
I really don't know why ppl like him so much! He is probably one of the worst professors i've had. The first day of class he states that half the class will fail, but in reality half the class will get a C, only a few A's and B's. I don't believe in kissing ASS in his class, but if you're good at that than take him. Not helpful at all. bad tests!
Funny guy at times. Very intelligent, youll learn alot. 1st quiz is tricky but youll get used to it. Hes tricky in a way that will make you smarter, plus youll learn to anticipate his questions. Dont let the 1st quiz get your hopes down. Book is helpful if you want more variety of questions. Take him.
2 quizzes, midterm, & final. Not that hard if you have taken time value of money before... He curves at the end. Lots of worksheets and review. He really wants students to do well. Always available to students.
Finance is hard, but he is really helpful. He gives 2 quizzes, midterm and final. Homework is not collected but do it anyways because its so helpful to understand the material. He wants everyone to do well and does whatever he needs to so you understand the material. Offers extra study sessions before quizzes and exams
Berry is a funny guy. He's about the easiest Finance professor at DPU. I would suggest you take him if you're not a Finance Major. He goes through the material really fast, and you don't really learn much. His tests and quizzes are easy. So if you're not a FIN major and don't really care about the subject, then take him, but if you are then don't.
Class was fairly easy. Grade is based on two quizzes, a midterm, homework, and a final. Spend time doing the homework and actually complete the in class handouts because this is where he gets his exam questions. He also curves the class at the end.
I was terrified of Fin310 but I took him over the summer & we just had a midterm &final, & then he did collect homework but didnt grade the homework...the midterm was easy but the Final was so hard i thought I was going to fail the class but I ended up with a B, he must have curved that final! He's funny and the better choice for a finance teacher
I don't know why people love him so much. His exams are very difficult. I got a 20/100 on his exams?!! And the curve is useless since it is a F. You must truely understand the text material and I mean top to bottom before the exam because the exam is full of tricks, like the time I went trick or treating on Halloween.
Great Professor! 3 exams, 3 small and easy take home projects, and 5 in class quizes. No midterm or Final. Will double the points for the 3 exams so you don't have to take the final if you are happy with your grade. Really tries to help you understand the problems and materials. Always a delight to come to class. Hw isn't collected, but helpfu
Great guy, easy class b/c of the curves. Just don't look for him out of class, that seems to irritate him a lot. Don't drop because everyone passes his class in the end. Give him his space and he'lle give you your B- or C, good times.
The class was fun, and the teacher is really cool.
Very interesting teachings. Great and fair professor. Highly recommend.
Hands down one of the most enjoyable professors at DePaul. Berry really stresses seeing his students do well and not just in Finance 310. If you're nervous about Finance, his methods will really make you feel more confident in the subject. I recommend Berry to non-Finance majors AND Finance majors!
He's a pretty cool professor. Cares a lot about teaching us finance. At first he seemed kind of quiet and boring but in time he wasn't bad. Kinda funny at times. I can't say he made the class very fun, but he did the best he can with finance. He isn't top of the line, but he's probably the best in finance department. He's grading isn't tough.
Great profesor one of the best finance pro at depaul cares about his students, and wants them to pass he helped me understand finance and really enjoy it although it was a nightmare great guy!
I dont know where all these good ratings are coming from. He discourages people to come to his office and yells at them when they do. He gives you all the worksheets and yes some of the problems are on the exams but not all of them. I did not like him at all. There were 3 A's in our class a handful of B's and the rest 90% C's and D's.
great prof, keeps things straightforward. Cares about students learning the material, will take extra time to go over tough material, in class.
Berry is the best Finance Professor at DePual. Everything you do in class and on the HW is what will be on the exam. Make sure you understand how to do the HW problems and you should be able to get an A.
Unbelievably attractive in the weirdest way. My roomate took this calls with me she does not agree. If you're a FIN major I think this is your best bet on understanding the information thoroughly. With that said if you're not a FIN major is this your only bet.
He is one of the best professors at DePaul! Great personality, very clear and understands very well that most people take this class because it's mandatory rather than because it's their major! Highly recommended! I wish he was teaching FIN320 as well...! Thomas Berry for the PRESIDENT!
Good professor. He made the info in the book seems easy and understandable. Extremely funny, which helps you to get through the class. I wd recommend to come to class because like 90% of the class info will be on the test. The book was not really useful. Just go to the lecture, pay attention and make sure you understand the problems, and u'll get A
Great Professor, taken over winter intermission so it was fast but Berry's class was one of the funnest/best. You actually learn and have a laugh and good time in class. 2 papers 2 quizzes a final and a term paper, but are very reasonable. great stories to reinforce his lectures. Cool guy in every way.
Don't take this class if you don't expect to work hard. You have to study for each test. They are much harder then you think they will be. He doesn't use the book, powerpoints, or blackboard. So its all on your notes and worksheets.Study the worksheets! he's annoyed when you come to his office. You will learn alot but not easily.
He hates when students ask him questions. Once class is over, he is one of the first people to leave the room. If you are the type of person that likes to ask the teacher questions outide of class good luck with him. He flirts with girls, and simply has the "Whatever attitude." If you are worried about failing he wont care. No extra credit either.
He doesn't explain the material very well, and asking him for help is pointless. It would be very helpful if you understand FIN 310. The tests are not easy, but not extremely difficult either, if you study. Try to do well on the first 2 tests, so you don't have to take the final. Overall, he is still better than John Houston.
Good Prof .didnt really understand much in his class but overall it was good. Take him!! and yea he lovez Pepsi. he drinks(2) 20z bottels in one class lol
I have no idea how come he's the Finance Dep. director when he hates to help students or answer their questions!
Great professor! Explained EVERYTHING very clearly. The material was pretty easy. As long as you come to class, do the in-class worksheets and homework you should be fine. His exams reflect those assignments EXACTLY. Also, if you do well on the first two exams you don't have to take the final, which is nice.
I am a business double major, class was mandatory, and concepts very hard for me, personally (although i did ZERO at-home work). Just wanted to pass, i think he saw that i was trying in class and "gave" me a bonus 1% just so that i could move on to the next course. Thats a $1600 savings and i now LOVE this man. Thank you
This class is very difficult to understand, but he is great at explaining the material. One of my favorite classes at DePaul, but you REALLY need to study.
Awesome professor. Attend class and practice the problems from the handouts and you'll do great. Two quizzes that don't land on midterms and finals week and an optional final.
If you do poor in this class, regardless of your major, it is ONLY because you are not devoting enough time to studying. HW and class handouts reflect midterm and exam questions exactly. DONT BUY BOOK. I practiced every problem before each test and got an A. I guess if you're a non-major, this is as easy as it will get for you! GREAT professor.
Great class. Expectations were clear, and he really wants you to do well. Buying the book is not necessary.
Very good professor. He want you to do your best in class and helps out any way he can. He is funny, too.
Easy class. Just study the handouts over and over and you will do well. 3 exams and a final. Final not mandatory! Offers extra credit. Super Funny with a dry sense of humor. Brought candy for Halloween! Not assessable outside of class. Go to the tutors for extra help they rock! Don't buy the book! You never use it and he gives handouts of problems!
DO NOT BUY BOOK. I did not and don't know when someone would ever use it. Take notes and the exams will have no surprises. If you truly do all the homework there is no way you are getting below a B.
Prof. Berry is one of the best professors at DePaul. He always willing to help and work it out with his students. I took Fin 310 and 311 with him. Excellent experiences and would love to take him again. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
Dr. Berry is one of the best lecturers I have ever had. He has a great dry sense of humor and makes sure he covers everything in a coherent and plausible time frame. However, he is a hard grader and does not gives breaks. The average midterm grade was a C- (little bit lower than usual). And he doesn't give a lot of real world examples.
Great professor. Very intelligent and although he has his own opinion, he loves when others share theirs. I really enjoyed his class. Be there, participate and of course do your share of studying and it should be relatively easy to get a good grade. Would definitely recommend.
Prof Berry has been one of my favorite professors at DePaul!! 3 exams & an optional final. Gives out MANY handouts that are almost identical to the exams. If you just practice those problems right before the test, you shouldn't make anything less than a B. He looks out for his students and makes each lecture enjoyable. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!
Not available outside of class. Becomes visibly annoyed when students ask for help. His review guides for quizzesexams are USELESS. I would have finished with a much higher grade had I known that going into the course. He can be vague while teaching some material. Other than that, he's an alright professor.
He only teaches two classes a year, FIN310 over the summer / and ICS392 Senior Seminar over Dec session, he really cares, he makes any topic interesting and he has an hilarious sense of humor, participate in class, fdo the readings and papers, extra credit available, easy test multiple choice.
Funniest professor at DePaul. Made a super intense class (1 week) fun to be in!
BEST EVER!!! Wish he would have taught all my classes.
One of the worst teachers I have ever had at DePaul. Refuses to help students, treats the entire class as though students should know EVERYTHING already when this is technically an intro. Uses ancient handouts and some of the material is inaccurate or outdated. You can pass but I would never take him again.
80% exams and 20% hw on Mylab. he will not gonna prepare you to pass the class, I took summer session 1 and it's five week long. this class would be better if he gives student an actual review package and not just review practice in class. the question on exams you would never expected to learn in class at all. so awful
Literally the worst. Everyone around me was happy getting a C bc we were just glad that we didnt have to repeat the course. You have to teach yourself the material for the exams. When going over problems in class, hell skip steps, so you don't know where the numbers come from. Financial calc. required but he doesn't know how to use it.
Take him!!! His class was over the December session, so it was 5 classes alone. Show up on time, participate, read the readings, and be respectful. It's not hard to get an A if you be a respectful and hardworking student, and he'll see it. Take him!
This professor has to be the sweetest professor I had at my past 3 years at DePaul. He truly cares about his students and wants them to succeed. I took the intersession one week long, he would let us out early and was super chill. The hardest part was just waking up for the class, I recommend taking him, especially for accounting majors
We talked about aliens for like two hours. I think that speaks for itself.
Took BUS101 with him. Amazing professor I felt like I was getting such a great education with him. This professor is extremely caring of his students and has been working at DePaul for forever.
He was quick to answer questions, extremely easy grader and the class itself is super easy
BUS392 --> W prof.
You're not gonna learn much but the class is light work no kizzy.
Good guy and good professor. I'm glad he's teaching, he cares alot.
