Makes hilarious jokes during lectures.

He is a GREAT teacher, he really keeps your attention during the lectures and gives examples of real life situations that we would use the information he is teaching us. He just moves a little fast, but I think it is because he wants us to receive all the information.

When i walked in the first day of class and saw the familiar face of one of my last quarter professors, I had a sigh of relief. I am a beginner in the field of graphic design, and in the usage of photoshop but using all that Mr. Brecheisen had thought me, I created things I never would of imagined. He is as genuine,and as passionate as they come.

In this class what I liked most was the light wrapping because it deals more with my field. It was pretty cool to do and learn. The homework I liked doing would probably be when we got to take any image we wanted that as black and white then change it to color.

Awesome teacher. Good guy with the teaching abilities like top grade professor and sarcastichumor like tony stark!

From the first day, he will have you laughing and always keeping you wanting to hear his cheesy jokes. He makes the class easy in a sense where he always makes sure you understand all the material. He will go out of his way and always answer emails or texts to help you out in anything you need. He wants you to pass more than you want to pass.

Really fun class. Learned a lot of neat tricks on After Effects. Felt the class was a little slow but all in all it was fun.

It was a great class he was always there if you didnt understand something. He would always explain things a couple different ways which I always found helpful.

He's a good teacher. He is very helpful in helping you understand things you might not be getting. He tells you is available to help whenever he can and you should listen to him. I would gladly take this professor again if I could.

Gives the necessary criticism that not only is needed but well help you improve your skills in photoshop and color theory. He clearly respects his students and in we do as well. No one is screaming and yelling in his class so that's a plus. He uses some really bad puns and bad jokes that you kind of just have to laugh at because they're so bad.

My English not is good, but he is very patient and explains things to me that I can understand. It helps not only to understand the theory in class but for our future as artists.

His color theory class was very enjoyable, and I found that I learned a lot that was applicable to my career field and I feel would apply to many other job fields. The class was broad enough to cover many career fields for color theory but specific enough for me to relate it to my own career and apply it as a Graphic Designer.

He is a very helpful teacher. He likes stupid questions, which is helpful when learning difficult material. He always says he is available to help you, listen to him cause it will help you. I would take this teacher again.

Excellent teacher, definitely there for any questions you might have. I tend to have trouble with a lot of the more program-based classes but he made it a much less daunting task than it would've been otherwise.

Professor Thomas Brecheisen is one of the best ones i had class with. how explain things are always in a friendly way witch makes everything easy to understand and more relating. i enjoyed both classes. with professor Thomas there is no not understanding and fail class. maybe not paying attention and most of the time that part is 4 students

Mr. Brecheisen made this class fun. He was very informative and clear with the subject. I came into class not understanding After Effects, he was patient and very helpful when I needed help with the program. I'm glad I had this class with him.

Mr. Brecheisen kept the class' attention very well by throwing in humor and keeping his lectures light-hearted. The material was well taught, and he makes it very clear what he wants to see from his students. The assignments he gave were relatively easy once he explained them, and gave us a lot of opportunities to personalize them. really cool guy.

Great teacher. I should have taken advantage of his class more to learn about visual effects. Would take him again and this time i would appear more in class than I have been. His lectures are amazing in that they keep your attention and you rarely, if at all, fall asleep on it. He has a sense of humor and tends to make jokes.

Mr. Brechisen was an amazing professor, I honestly believe that teachers that are truly passionate about what they are doing are the best ones to have. He was clear and level headed with all assignments and lectures. Liked his sense of humor, very easy going and makes it really easy to reach if you have any questions outside of class.

He was an amazing teacher, and I felt that if I'd had more time with him I'd have only strengthened the knowledge he left with me. I hope that I'll be able to have his class at some point in the future.

Realy gave me that wake up call. to be honest most teacher's have had were a bit too soft and forgiving, but Tom encouraged us to improve and learn from mistakes and congratulated us on a job well done.

Mr. Brecheisen's class was probably one of the toughest I have taken, but worth it! He was fantastic about answering our questions and even was willing to help us over the weekend on the phone if we needed it and he got back to us quickly. I would take another class with Mr. Brecheisen again in a heartbeat.

I really like Thomas for a teacher, it sucks he have to move. I don't think the other teacher would be good as him. He dose give out a lot of work, however their are fun to do. I am going to miss him! Take care Thomas Awesomeness ^.^

Tommy was a great teacher. It has been a long time since I had a teacher so enthusiastic about the subject he taught, and that enthusiasm helped the whole class with a subject that otherwise would be a handful. I'll take what I learned from him in this class with me into my future career.

Thomas Brecheisen is a great, hilarious, and respectful teacher who taught me things about Photoshop and After Effects I didn't know. His shortcuts were also sublime. He can engage the class in anything. And his personality is also keen, too. For anyone looking for a great professor, Thomas Brecheisen is your guy!

Thomas is a tough teacher, but he was one of the few who actually cares! He makes me want to use the phrase "Everything is typical. Don't be typical." and apply it to everything I do. He's aggravating at times but it only makes you want to do better in the long run. Everyone would be lucky to have him as their professor!

this was a class that despite requiring a lot of work, was more than fair, and had more than enough opportunities to pass. I learned a lot in a short amount of time, and will most likely use what I learned heavily in the future. Over all he was an excellent instructor for the class

Great teacher, he helps you with anything as long as you ask.

He helps and inspires many students. If a student ever needs him, he will happily try to help. He even helps students straighten out their life by encouraging them to try harder.

Tommy's great! He definitely knows what he's talking about, and while it wasn't necessarily an easy class, he also definitely doesn't leave anyone floundering, so long as they speak up and ask for help. I learned a ton of things in this class that will come in handy professionally and in my own personal work, and my projects came out better for it!

Professor Thomas is not only good at giving feedback, but also a master in being specific when giving such feedback. He understands that each student has a different way of learning as well as understanding subjects, so he makes sure that he sits with each student individually to give the best help possible.

Thomas is a great teacher, though if you didn't do your work your grade would show it. There was zero room for slacking off. And even if you turned in all your assignments on time don't expect a good grade. He gave clear direction and if confused he gave clarification. He's very knowledgeable. Ask questions and do the work and you will get better.

Thomas helps a lot and provides a lot of information. He is also always willing to help out.

Great professor! He brings great energy to the course. There is absolutely no reason you should fail this class unless you just don't show up.

He is strict at times, but very fair and very helpful. He is always available for questionsassistance and always very encouraging, no matter your skill level.

I've had him twice and he was a very good teacher overall. He explains things the best he can, always has the fastest ways to do things and shortcuts, and always comes around to help and see what you can improve on.

I think he is a great instructor defiantly makes you work for your grade. if you get behind in his class good luck because its a lot of work.

Brecheisen was a really nice instructor, and he genuinely cares about his students. He wants them to learn all they can in his classes, and offers a wide range of assignments, many of which will challenge you to work harder than you normally would. But it's worth it, you get really good material at the end of it.

Mr. Brecheisen is ready to give help to students that ask for it and works with their schedule in order to give them the proper help they need. Gives constructive criticism to all students equally.

He presents the information in such a way that makes it interesting. By being comical, it's much easier to pay attention and learn.

He is a great teacher for students who truly want to learn. If you are someone who doesn't show up for class, doesn't pay attention or follow instructions... you will have a hard time, but thats your own fault not the teachers. I personally think Mr. Brecheisen is an awesome professor and valued the time I had him as a teacher.

I honestly never payed attention much but knew what he was taking about. He knows what to do and how if you pay attention.

one of my peeves is when im surrounded by distracting students and the teacher doesnt correct them and retake control of the class. not the case here. i liked the no nonsense teaching style. the firm stance on holding us to standards he outlined in the first week made me feel like he wasnt wasting my time. tough but fair, and willing to help

I liked the instructor. It was very helpful that he was very knowledgeable about the content of the class and taught it very fluidly. He made sure to teach it multiple times in different methods so that it was understandable but not repetitive. He also stresses that he is willing and available for you to bother him for help.

This Instructor was kinda nice and was pretty comical and it gave the course a much better experience than I was expecting.

Great professor. Attentive to my learning style. Very personable teacher. He really cares about my success. The only bad thing is slow down and make sure the student actually gets the lesson before moving on to other lessons. Repetition is the mother of skill.

This was an interesting class, we started out unsure of what we were going to do because the class seemed kind of out dated, but he found a way to modernize the class with a few interesting programs that were interesting to learn.

This Instructor found some unique projects for us to work on as well as some actual industry experience. The instructor was also willing to help outside of class through various ways of communication. The instructor also makes the class interesting.

He makes it clear that when a lecture happen, you need to focus on that and not your phone. I'm impressed by that. Of course, why would you want to be on your phone in the first place? The lectures are real interesting; a hands-on type of lecture.

He's a pretty nice guy, who is willing to be available outside of class, as well as providing help during class. He also knows that things are going to go wrong with your projects and gives you time to understand and fix them.

Very informative on helping you make your Portfolio book, and does give good feedback to improve it.

although the class he was teaching is not in my major, he taught it in a way that i could understand it easily. he actually gives helpful feedback on all the projects and will expand on subjects if asked or need be.

Very inspirational and motivating. The midterm and final was the hardest tests Ive ever taken. All Essay questions. A good way to know if you actually know the material. Gives good projects. I look forward to taking more of his classes

I love all the low scores everyone gives Mr. B for easiness. He actually TELLS you his class is hard but worth it, and thats true 1000% (for both). His classes are hard - but push you to be great and KNOW the lessons. But his classes are worth it - I am a better student and film maker because of him and his classes. Hes super fun and helpful

Thomas Brecheisen is a fantastic professor and truly helps you grow in your editing and shooting skills in even the most beginner editing class. I definitely recommend him, but you must do the work and pay attention to take full advantage. He has a lot of knowledge to give, don't miss out on it!

He's tough but as long as you take his advice when he gives you a critique and make the changes, answer the discussion questions and study for the essay question midterm and finals, you'll do well.

I thought he was my favorite teacher by far in college because of how engaged he is with his students. He really knows what he is talking about and has made me a far more better filmmaker.

I probably wouldn't have been as successful this quarter if it wasn't for this instructor. He gave incredible feedback and things I would not have even thought were an issue. One of the most helpful instructors I have ever had.

Having to do a video and come up with different iddeas every week and be very difficult (especially when you have a weekend job, like me) but i would definitely love to have this teacher again in the future. For me class was amazing. Learned a lot from day one but if you don't mind your P's and Q's, it won't be an easy day at the park. You have to work for it but it is time well spent.

I don't like how you have the critique questions and the homework questions separate you should put them together because when I do the homework question I think I did the whole work and then I realize the critique isn't in the homework its separate and I forget to do it.

He takes the time to make sure his students understand everything that they are being taught. He knows what he is talking about and will not lead you astray. His class is the one to take, and he's fair.

Even though Tommy comes from a VFX background, he definitely knows his stuff about editing for video production. There are a lot of projects and homework involved but it's definitely worth it in the long run. Great teacher!

Absolute great to work with but test are killer.

There was more than the criteria of the class that I learned from this man. He really brought to the table everything the school asked of him, but he took the initiative and made us the students his priority instead of a responsibility.

Very passionate about what he teaches. Fun class overall Always looked forward to hearing the lectures. I learned a lot about camera angles and certain rules to follow when filming/ editing. Great teacher overall would recommend.

He is really into his movies which makes understanding how certain shoots should be made. His lectures are made fun with his own experiences and videos to better understand the material. I learned a lot by his projects and now can use the techniques learned to better my animations and videos. Would and do highly recommend taking his classes

thought it was a fun class to take there were some minor issues with having to get your footage for the class but thought it was an extremely useful to get some hands on experience with a camera.

I have had Mr. Brecheisen for multiple classes now and he is by far my favorite professor. I always look forward to the classes I have with him. He cares about his students. His tests may be hard at times but, as long as you pay attention in class (he makes that part easy, he is a great lecturer) you will do fine on them.

This was the most challenging class I have taken so fare and it was fun because it made me challenge myself. He made me go outside the box for every assignment.

This instructor great, he pushes you to your limit and helps you surpass. Under his instruction I accomplished feats in my projects I didn't think that I could do.

Just get ready try your best, because Mr. Brecheisen expects to try.

The teacher is actually a lot of fun to learn from. He believes in all of his students and does what he can to inspire people so they can use their own imagination to work with the new skills he teaches. He is a bit difficult with his works, however he still takes the time to help each student so that everyone has the help they need.

So this was my first time having Mr. Brecheisen. I did not know what to expect when taking his class. One of the very first things I remember him saying that stuck with me is that his class is about the process not the product. Even with him saying that he pushed us to excel and go beyond what we thought we were capable of.

Had a ton of homework, but also learned a ton. I'm a 10x better VFX artist now then I was before I took the class.

We learned projection mapping week 8. Literally blew my mind.

Mr. Brecheisen is someone who will give you the tools to be great and will also give you more than enough opportunities to be great. He gives you the 20 dollar hamburger when you paid $5.

He always trys to give you a "40$ burger" for what you paid for. He gives amazing feedback and will tell you his honest opinion. Even if the feedback you get is not what you wanted to hear he will tell you how to fix it and grow as a student to get better at your craft. One of the best teachers at AI San Antonio.

I would like to be given a stock footage to edit versus editing our own film at first. Other than that, very helpful professor and reachable.

He cares. He cares about what he teaches and he cares about you. He gets loud. Really loud sometimes, but like my rabbi, it derives from his passion. His love for what he does. It's hard not to get some of that passion under your skin. I know that I will carry it with me always. You need that going forward in your career.

He is a really informative guy and a helpful one as well, but the price to pay with that is that he gives out a lot of homework and assignments. It may look grim, but not to fear; he does care for us and makes sure that we have a good future, so don't be afraid to ask him for help when you need it.

A lot of work but in the long run that is good the best thing for a student to succeed is to be in class and do the work in a timely manner.

This Professor is A1. He will lure you into raising your hand and participate. Lectures are heavy but he breakdown every slide as clear as day. He makes his transitions of different lectures well like learning math in the correct order. add, subtract, multiply divide ect. He will not let u fail, Ive received emails assuring i get back on track.

An awesome teacher whose passion for his craft definitely shows. Being on time is MANDATORY. He will understand tardiness, but he will take it into account. His lectures are always worth showing up to class to view, but he goes through the material pretty quickly, so ask a question or tell him to slow up if you find you're lost or off track.

This was a great class (Interactive Visual Design) and I really feel like I have a clear path to a strong portfolio now.

I was nervous about taking this class being an Animation major, but because of this class I have a better understanding how to determine the spatial relationship between characters. I feel that with what I have learned in this class, I have information that I can use in other mediums, not just for film. I'm glad I was able to take this class!

Very engaging and enthusiastic. Lectures every class go by quickly and you really feel as if you learned quite a bit. Uses good visuals to reinforce what was learned. Expect to shoot a video most weeks, but not unreasonable at all.

Very personable and desire to help out the students. Very engaging because of the enthusiasm and was able to turn boring material into something engaging. Definitely liked the fact this class was not a death by power point lecture but more of a hands on learning environment. The expectations put on us students are real world standards.

I am not an editing or SFX major, but I really enjoyed taking the class with this professor! He keeps things very interesting and made things very clear.

Despite how hard some classes can get, he really does care about us having a good reel and grade, he's helpful as well

Thomas is knowledgeable in his field. He has experience and it shows when he critiques your work and gives honest feedback. In class he teaches by lecture, which while unappealing to many students, including me, they provide a wealth of useful knowledge. He won't guide you by the hand, but if you put in effort you will learn alot.

Mr. Brecheisen isn't a boring instructor. He doesn't have a monotonous drawl either or go over material like a machine. He is fully engaged with his students 100% and gives his heart for us. His feedback is excellent and checks his email much more often-expect replies within the day. He operates at a caliber I've rarely seen.

Mr. Brecheisen is a top notch professor. He really puts in the effort for every major to understand what he is teaching. He is always finding ways to relate the lesson to common knowledge or films to make it easy to understand and wants us to really grasp the concepts. His teaching really raises the bar for professors I have in the future.

I didn't really have a unique experience with this teacher or class. He is very inspirational with the way he talks and it is clear that he loves his job and knows what he's talking about. There is not much reading to do, which is nice, but the class is very homework heavy and I had a difficult time completing them due to my job.

Overall, He was a great professor. He explained the course very well and I would like to have him as a teacher again.

Tommy is a very great teacher that knows exactly what he wants his students to leave with. He encourages students to be the best they can be and gives them the tools necessary to make that happen. There is not much for him to improve on as he is already doing better than most teachers i've had.

All in all, this is a teacher who genuinely cares about this course of study and very much believes and enjoys passing the knowledge to a new generation. a motivated teacher that will make an effort to help those struggling learn. Very knowledgeable in his field, and knows how to relay that information in an easy way to understand.

He is a really hands on teacher, you will get to know the craft of editing even if you are not interested in editing at all. He is really interactive so the class isn't going to be boring at all, he knows how to put on a show to keep you learning and interested. His goal is for you to retain the information!!

Professor Brecheisen, explains concepts and materials clearly. He strives to have all his students be successful by making sure they understand the concepts. He grades fairly since he tells you exactly what he is looking for. Expect quizzes weekly (for your benefit). Overall I think he is a fantastic teacher regardless of your field of study.

Very amazing and knowledgeable in editing and filmmaking in general. I highly recommend taking him as a professor in any class.

He is really good using his powerpoint more as a tool. Hes very passionate about all of us in the sense of wanting us to succeed. He also makes it fun to do the homework assignments. His cons however are sometimes he can go off and away from topic at hand, usually to answer a good question. He sometimes is flustered by the new resources,

Be prepared to take a short essay styled midterm/final for most of his classes. He is accessible 24/7. He likes to crack lame dad jokes, so just laugh or smile anytime he does it or he'll "threaten" you with negative extra credit. When you do critiques for projects, make sure you have something to wipe the tears because 9/10 you will cry.

This professor is one of my favorites! He really cares about you just not getting a grade but learning the material. He's not there just for a paycheck

Overall I enjoyed the class and learned a lot. He definatly cares and has passion. Very knowledgable on the material he teaches us. I learn more from him about certain cameras then some film teachers that teach about cinematography.

The class over all was really good. I enjoyed this topic and look forward in utilizing more VFX in my future films. I think that the professor is well rounded enough to effectively teach this subject. My only problem is with the Bright Space program. It can be difficult to follow and you have no idea where you stand with grades.

Seriously one of the best professors.

I really enjoy how professor Brecheisen personalizes his classes. I think that the real life stories and experiences really help with understanding the material being taught. Anyone can teach out of a text book but you can really rate a professor by how he/she relates the material to real life.

This class taught me many things about green screening and keying work. I learned more than I ever thought I would. Even though I have found out that I am not a fan of keying subjects out it is a valuable subject to know.

His gorgeous hair always had me memorized but his lectures had me hooked.

There's certain things you'll need to learn on your own. Make sure you find one of the upper classmen who can work with you. If not, use plural-site. Also, turn in your work and do the discussion questions.

Tough but fair instructor you will quickly learn to respect because he strives to be the best at his crafts (both teacher and film maker). He strives to make sure you understand the craft to a evaluative level of your own woek

The class was a great class where we got to learn different areas of editing that aren't commonly thought about.

The professor will give you critiques on how you can improve your films. He reviews the question before the quiz so we can be prepared. Most of the lectures on online so we can download them for personal use.

This professor is probably better received with students that are in his area of expertise, which is editing, video, and visual effects. I have never been good with a camera so his class was slightly irritating for me. However, it was never impossible to get the work done in his class as he offers many options to help the student.

Good teacher. There is a lot of homework and assignments but if you do the questions and hw questions you'll pass. Class isn't mandatory per say (you have to adhere to the schools policy) but you'll be lost if you miss and don't contact him. Not too tough of a grader but won't hold back on feedback and critiquing. Overall, great teacher.

This class was extremely difficult if you haven't taken motion graphics before. If you haven't, be prepared to learn as you go.

Tommy is a really good teacher, he expects you to do your best but also understands the difficulties of his class. He's done a lot to try and accommodate for my anxiety. He makes sure to try and help out with anything you need, which includes him giving you his phone number and answering no matter what time of the day or night it is.

Tommy is an instructor who honestly cares about his students. You can be sure that the moment you step the that door, that he only wants the best for you. He will challenge you and make you work for it but it is all just to benefit YOU! Thank you Tommy for pushing your students closer to success.

I really do enjoy taking classes, but this time when i turned in homework and did assignments and answer questions i was told later those dont matter just the four projects which made me feel bad because i worked hard and it meant very little in the end. I was under the belief that everything we turn in was graded and mandatory.

Tommy is a great professor, I really enjoy classes were I am challenged. I can certainly say that in all his classes, I am challenged from beginning to end of the quarter. And he drives a smart car, which makes him really cool

This teacher is one of the best teachers I have ever had here at AI. Although the lectures are heavy, they are filled with SO MUCH knowledge and not just a copy and paste type of deal. I have had this instructor once and twice this quarter and he reminds you and refers back to previous classes are that are always very important. He truly cares.

I really looked forward to taking this class because of what i want to incorporate it into the future. I feel that the more in depth that he went the more the class came together. It was very informational and there was a lot of material given to us. This will be a great benefit to the videos with my drone footage that i will be applying.

Highly motivational and enthusiastic about his work as well as pushing his students to achieve great works. Taking his class has improved my skills and i took alot of advise he's given the class on how to move forward in our careers. defiantly sad to see the quarter end. i truly felt his energy and left his class everyday excited to start my work

I've had Tommy for multiple classes, and each time he's been able to push me. While I came into his classes often with prior knowledge, Tommy was able to get me to work and learn things I didn't know or felt comfortable with. In the end, the hardest thing was getting past myself.
