Literally the worst professor I've ever had. Doesn't prepare his students at all. I only went to class for iClicker. Do not take this guy for Physics. Physics is already a hard subject and this guys doesn't know how to teach it at all. The class is curved by 15% but his teaching is unbearable. I repeat. Don't take Breukner.
DO NOT TAKE HIM! I'm and engineering major and I just got done with the final and thought I was prepared, and apparently was not. His teaching techniques are crazy and unclear. I went to every class, did all the homework, studied and still don't know if I'll be able to pass. I get A's and B's at UCF and this is the only class thats hard.
I didn't like this class. His explanations were confusing and he is not helpful. In order to do well on the tests, you need to study a lot. The homework is easy and you get a few attempts to complete it. The textbook isn't a necessity but it helps for studying purposes. Also, he has iclicker questions every lecture.
Do not take him if you have the option. His lectures are very difficult to follow and he doesn't directly go over the material you need to do well on the exams. Attendance is necessary and the weekly written homeworks are difficult. Not in concept but in clarity.
If you have the choice, DO NOT take physics with this professor. He doesn't explain the concepts that you need to know well and his lectures are very confusing. Also the weekly homework is nearly impossible unless you go to his office hours which is 1 hour per week.
Not clear at all, but attendance is part of your grade. The weekly homework is nearly impossible (unless you go to SI or office hours, which help sooo much). The online homework is what he bases a lot of his test/quiz questions off of. Grading is really tough. Gave me an F on one hw for missing one minus sign (and wouldn't change it).

I have no earthly idea why this man is teaching Physics for Engineers. He expects you to be able to solve any problem in the world, ones you have never seen anything similar to, just because you are an engineer. He would highlight math seen in Calculus 3 when Calculus 1 is the only pre-req. Keep him teaching online physics for dummies, PLEASE!
Nice guy. Tries to be funny. His exams are hard and some questions aren't covered in class. He rambles on about absoultely nothing for the 1st 15mins of class and expects us to stay late. When you ask him a question he rambles in circles and doesn't really answer it. Try not to take him but if you have to TAKE NOTES!
Nice guy but a hard class. He rambles a lot. You need to be there to answer clicker ?s and TAKE NOTES. Don't need book. Make sure to do homework because the tests are hard and some questions aren't in the notes. He posts his lectures online. Hard to get an A but if you go to class and do homework you can get a B.
I will be honest, this is not an easy class. This professor does not just give you the equations to use. He makes you think about where the idea is derived from. Go to his office hours. It helps and allows for further discussion on current topics. Study the homework. I would suggest this class for those who want a challenge. It will benefit you.
I'm not a science person nor will I ever be, but I figured out of all the GenEds this would be okay. His way of teaching is unorganized & I felt very lost multiple times. Attendance is mandatory for iClicker. I was very worried about my grade but ended up being pleasantly surprised - TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ALL BONUS POINTS. You have to work really hard.
Dr. B is the man. His lectures are interesting and he expects a lot out of his students. He wants you to put a solid effort in his class. His tests are pretty difficult but making an A or B is pretty easy. 55 pct of your grade comes from lab, homework, iclicker which should be pretty easy to max out in.
Very unclear. Little to no direction and organization as to what to study for tests. Makes tests questions that are not relevant to the material. My first C in college. Studied and worked my butt off for a C. Horrible. Do not take.
This guy says to come to him for help, yet he is very unapproachable when you do go to him. He acts like you are bothering him. He was sure to brag about the letters after his name Dr which stands for don't recommend! In my book anyway. He makes an already difficult subject more difficult with his big vocabulary. And he strays off the subject ATT!
His lectures aren't very clear and he speeds through them. Most of the time it's impossible to take clear notes because he goes through the lectures so fast. He also has homework due everyday before class. Basically this guy tries way too hard to be funny instead of having clear lectures. Don't take him if you're not science minded.
You can tell that Dr.B is a nice guy in real life just a hard professor. He is not always clear with what he is asking in questions. He does assign homework but in my opinion it wasn't that bad. If you are not a science person you might struggle in his class a little. His exams are hard and there is a lot of information included for each exam.
RUN! Very unorganized & confusing. No clear transitions/correlation between ideas. Exams ridiculous. Unclear with his choppy explanations & jumps to different thoughts mid-sentence. Pace too fast. Repetitive references to Chuck Norris was so annoying. Challenges you so unrealistically. You cannot calculate your grade(s) throughout the semester.
Do NOT take this professor!! The absolute worst that I've had! He expects absolutely way too much out of his students. Required and graded attendance for every lecture, insane amount of busy work homework, and the exams are EXTREMELY detailed, yet when you ask him to go back in a lecture he says no. CONSTANTLY makes Chuck Norris Jokes...not funny.
Dr. B is so confusing. I felt like a lot of his lectures go over my head and I have no idea what he is talking about. No SI, SARC, or much tutoring available for this class so it's difficult. His grading scale is different than the standard, your lowest test gets dropped, he gives extra points, etc. So much work though with so little help!
DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER. He has a very confusing way of teaching everything and he will try to trick you on his tests. He is mean to his students and doesn't try to help you when you email him with a problem. His tests are very hard his quizzes barely have any information on them. Take any other teacher. This guy is terrible.
Really hard class, requires lots of studying, but if you're up for a challenge, this class can be rather fun. If you consider yourself a lazy student however, its better if you find a different class
LITERALLY THE WORST EVER. He was honestly the rudest and most useless professor ever. He was so mean to the students & to his learning assistants all semester, & he was so unapproachable. He was an awful teacher, so unorganized & vague in his lectures, tests, & online grade book. Worst instructor i've ever had in my life. STAY AWAY. Seriously.
He is the worst professor I have ever had. He makes simple concepts extremely confusing and is just a jerk in general. Do not take him unless you have to. I got a B in the class, but it was just a pain to go to everyday because it was required by Iclicker.
He is very unorganized. Honestly the worst professor I've ever had. I made a B in the class but with hours of studying. He doesn't care about his students. Unless you're good at math and can teach yourself STAY CLEAR of this class. I regret ever taking it with him.
I thought I had signed up for a simple introductory course to physical science. I was dead wrong. He's a physics professor for engineers and expects us to know how to solve these overly complicated physics problems that are no where to be found in the text book most of the time. He tries to be funny but isn't. DON'T TAKE HIM!
This professor isn't as bad as everyone makes him seem. No he's not easy, but he's not impossible. I am absolutely horrible at math and science and stilled pulled a higher B in his class. His tests are more concept based and if you focus on that you'll pass without a problem. He also offers a reasonable amount of extra credit.
He gives point for iclikr questions as well as extra credit if you visit the observatory. He called me out for emailing him and saying class time is a waste, and he called people out for not changing their name in mastering astronomy. He answered my emails swiftly but his test r hard.
I would not recommend taking this professor. If you can, take someone else. The clarity he presents on difficult topics is sub-par. He attempts to be nice, accommodating with his students but that only goes so far.

This teacher was fine. He used a point system for the grades. His class was out of 288pts you only needed 173=60% for a C in the Class a B was 216=75%.. Mini quizzes are worth 4 pts each just as long as you do them you get 4 points for a total of 48 basically free points. The rest are from the 3 tests and the 1 final. tests are 48pts and finals96pt
This was by far the worst professor I have ever had at UCF. His teaching style sucks you honestly have to go to other sources to learn what he is teaching you because he cant teach. If you can avoid this man your entire college career I would advise you stay far far fara far way!
He makes this 1000 level course way harder than it needs to be. Exams are unfair. Gives 50 minutes for a 40 question exam, shows one problem at a time, with in-depth math equations. Doesn't show grades as class progresses. He'll make quizzes available for 10 days but it's actually due somewhere in the middle of those days. He isn't helpful at all.
His tests are very tough. He includes questions that he calls "Brain Burners", they are extremely difficult and nothing like the practice problems he has you do in the book. It's almost impossible to get an A/B on every exam because the time limit is too short. This class is manageable but don't expect to get an A and a B is very hard to obtain.
Brueckner basically explains information in the most difficult way possible. After a TON of studying I had an A but half of the final exam questions were things we barely even covered, so that brought me down to a B. The class isn't impossible but I'd advise you to try to take PSC1121 with another professor besides Professor B if you can
Mr B is nice and helpful but his explanations are difficult to follow. The set up of the class was not favorable and tests were difficult. Assgmts don't have many practice questions so there's not a lot of chance for getting somewhat complex formulas/theories. He offers extra credit. Play on his love of Chuck Norris jks.
As a junior taking a 1000 level course online I thought it would be a breeze but it wasn't. Creates some hard questions that aren't in the book and then doesn't really explain how to do them. I studied very hard, barely got an A. Make sure you do ALL the quizzes b/c they'll help your grade. Online office hours and watching the iTunes videos help.
Doesn't know how to teach. Would not take again. Unless you want to be confused and stressed all semester, I recommend not taking him.
If you are committed to reading ththe book, you will do fine. Read the book and attended his lectures. Aced the tests.

I would not recommend him. You are expected to show up to class for the iClicker questions, but his lectures are useless for the tests. His lectures make no sense in comparison to whats on the tests. If you know what chapters the tests are on, then READ them. It's your best bet for getting a decent grade. Lots of HW, but its easy.
He's a nice guy but his lectures are often confusing. If you have an understanding of physics you will do just fine. There's the option of being exempt from his final if you get A's on your first two exams. You need the iClicker for his class.
This dude is a genius... but struggles teaching it to the average person. I skated my way through by not doing much, but wasn't the smoothest skate. Take or not its not that bad.
It's hard to get an A, but at the same time it's hard to fail. As long as you make attending class and doing the homework a priority you will do well. The tests are hard but they cover mostly the lecture notes and the home-works. It's all a matter of how much effort you put into the class, you cant be lazy. You need a study buddy to survive!
Lectures are confusing, homework is online and easy to do. Test are confusing. Does offer some extra credit. If you show up to class, re-watch lectures, go over homework and read the book, you can get a good grade. Didn't like him very much but did pass the class.

Dr.B is exceedingly smart and though he goes over every concept, he doesn't always do it very clearly or in a way every student will pick up. This class is how much effort you put in. Study hard for exams, do a good job on the homework and don't miss class and you will succeed.
Gives big time extra credit closer to the final. Dr. B cares about his student and what he teaches. If you go to SI review before the tests, you will pass. The final is hard & cumulative. He does overly explain and complicates his lectures, but he is there to help, if you need it. If you try you'll pass. If you try really hard you can Ace the class
Dr. B is a great guy, but is not very good at understanding how to answer questions unless it is a one on one setting. He offers a lot of extra credit opportunities and a lot of hwclicker to help with grade (class is point based). The book is ESSENTIAL to getting a good grade on exams. Final is a little harder than other exams, but not impossible.
Brueckner gets a lot of flak on this website but honestly he's an amazing professor. I 'm horrible at math and thought I was going to flunk, but he was always there, ready and willing to help you and provides many resources to help. Straightforward during his lectures and gives a ton of chances to earn EC. He really does care for his students.
A lot of people rag on him, he's really goofy and really quirky but if you can get past that and have a little patience with him you'll be fine. He has homework almost every night but it doesnt take long and helps cement the concepts in. He dropped a test grade and has review sessions before every test with his TAs. I'd recommend him.
Dr. B is really annoying. It's hard to stay focused cause it's so boring but if you pay attention to the lectures and his powerpoints, you should be fine. Never ever used the textbook. Has clicker questions for participation credit. Three exams and a final, and short homework assignments due before every class. If I weren't so lazy I'd get an A.
Took Dr. Brueckner during Summer A. If he's your only option it's worth it to wait another semester to take Physics. Unlike most of the professors in his department he doesn't curve. He makes his own tests and often the questions are poorly written and are not from the notes. He is also very biased and tends to favor some students than others.
Seriously unless you absolutely need this course at the time don't take Physics I with Dr. Brueckner as you can get a higher grade with any other professor. Does not curve unlike all the other professors in his department. Received an 88 which would have been an A with any other professor but instead got a B.
Took his class during Summer A. Three tests (lowest is dropped) and one final. Doesn't curve, but includes bonus questions. He tells you what concepts are important to know for the exams and he's always there to help. Lab, homework, and participation boost your grade. Physics is not my best subject, but I got an A. Do the work and you'll be fine.
He was a great guy and obviously cared about his subject a lot. He wants students to get it and will remember your name if you come to talk to him. If you read, you'll be fine for the tests and homework. It was difficult for me because I'm terrible at science, but I ended up with an A somehow.
Took Summer A. It's physics. You need to read and work on problems on your own time. He has lots of office hours to go over homework problems with you. Tests are MC and free response. Uses same examples from lecture so GO TO LECTURE. Read the book and use SI and you'll pass. Slacking and cramming won't help you unless you're a genius in math probs.

I thought physical science was going to be about the earth, rocks, plants, etc. its not. It's PHYSICS. Such a hard class for a gen ed. Not easy at all. Would not take.
He starts the first day of class by telling you that everyone fails his exams. You MUST go to class to get clicker points. If you do clicker points and the homework, you'll be fine even if you get a d on every test. His lectures are all online which is how I studied. Everyone I know got B's but somehow I pulled out with an A.
Tests are so confusing and abstract, don't study formulas focus on concepts. They aren't confusing concepts he just makes it unnecessarily confusing.
SAVE MONEY AND DON'T BUY THE BOOK. It won't help you. He goes off on a bunch of tangents and never starts class on time. EVER. He says you'll get out early, but don't be fooled. Sometimes he singles out students in front of everyone. You have to really put in effort to pass, he doesn't teach well. He helps if you ask.

HARD CLASS
Very tough homework, simply posts the lectures that he records for the online students so it's tough to keep interest + actually learn anything. Should have posted supplemental notes for online class. Exams were nothing like homework and all concept-based with long questions and answers but he does offer help. Brain burners were tough, didn't help.
The class was very long and boring. There are only 3 tests and a final, you dont need the book AT ALL! Homework isnt too hard but it is hard to find the exact answers you need to understand topics. I would not take this class again.
Dr. B has a clear interest in physics, and if you ask for help, he'll be available, but be aware - he starts off by saying most people don't pass his exams. Clicker participation questions every class period, and homework after every lecture, help you not completely fail after the tests. For a gen ed credit, it's really tough, pick something else.

Extremely hard for no reason! Everyone talks about how they are not able to pass his tests. Does not thoroughly explain how to do the equations he provides. Felt a lot like physics not physical science.
Yes, the test are hard and a lot of extra time goes in the class but you can pass. I got an A, worked my butt off and managed to get like 15 points worth of extra credit. So there is in fact extra credit. Do the work and study. It's a college class of course it's not easy.
I was told that this was going to be an easy course. It was nothing like the description and was definitely a physics course disguised as an "earth science" course. If you take this class, don't miss lecture and utilize office hours.
He does allow unlimited extra credit. also does clicker questions every class for participation points, that's good for you if you go to class, helps your grade. HW is easy if you read the book. i find the lectures to be funny and interesting. he is passionate about astronomy and makes it fun.
Not good at all. He rambles on in lectures, and is very confusing. His way of explaining the material is roundabout and makes it even harder for you to learn. This class is dull overall. There is constant homework which isn't horrible, since there are multiple opportunities to get the right answer. His tests are DIFFICULT.
Useless class... nothing truly about astronomy. And tests are impossible. Material comes from everywhere. Including out of thin air. Lectures are not only exhausting. But extremely uninformative. I clicker is used in participation points, and not attending will be detrimental to your grade.
This class is extremely difficult. My friends and I all took PSC1121 this semester as our last GEP science, but because of my schedule I was the only one in Dr. B's class. He is a very passionate, amazing guy but the class is WAY too difficult and confusing for those with little science background like myself. No formula sheets, impossible tests!!!
He is very sarcastic and rude. Tests are very difficult, the information comes from everywhere, and he gives sarcastic responses to questions if he thinks they are "dumb" Iclicker actually makes an impact on your grade so definitely go to class and take advantage of the extra credit. My best advice is don't take astronomy with this professor.
Don't take this class!!! I took PSC thinking it would be easier than Chem but honestly wish I had took Chem instead. This class is hard and extremely confusing. Dr. B is AWFUL at explaining the concepts. He doesn't show you how to solve the problems which is most of the tests. 3 tests, 1 gets dropped. Final is cumulative. Need to STUDY STUDY STUDY.
People are saying he's a bad professor but I LOVED him. I'm usually really bad at math, and he made physics very easy to understand, and he also made it fun. If you show up to class, pay attention, and do your work, you'll be fine! His tests are pretty straight forward. If you study and know the concepts, you'll be able to pass.
Dr. Brueckner isn't clear during lectures. He makes the curriculum very confusing, so the tests are difficult. If you want an A you need to do ALL the extra credit. Also if you ask questions he'll likely either make fun of you in front of the class or not answer your questions. Good luck.
I think Dr.B gets a bad rep. This class is basically physics and I have never taken physics before so this class was difficult for me. Clicker required for every class and tests. S.I. saved my life and I would suggest going because it definitely helped with clicker questions on exams. Just try your best and learn how to do the math!!!!
If you want an easy intro class, I do not recommend taking this course. I spent more time on this class than my 3000 and 4000 level courses. The advisers convinced me it was an "earth class" but it was physics. Don't let them fool you. Now, although this class was extremely time consuming, I did end up with a B and I am TERRIBLE at math.
What a terrible teacher in everything from course organization to material instruction. Everything is made more difficult than need be. The text book written by Brueckner is awful and unclear.
Never give back our tests, just comment that weird "secret" errors code things there, that no one could understand what it means. So we could never really see what we did wrong in out test, can't learned a thing from it!!! Due time are ridiculously stupid! like to confuse us by screwing around with those due time such as 5:59am, 9:30am, or 10:59pm
Unlike other profs, with common deadline at 11:59pm, this weirdo like to change the different time to confuse us. So if your work schedule is tight and want to take this class online, PAY ATTENTION on whatever his due TIME is, can be annoying sometimes. Lecture & tests are full of pointless meme, make it harder to read and understand the materials
I really did not enjoy this class. It was supposed to be an intro level course and I am just going to say do not take this professor. I left a lengthy evaluation but it didn't seem to matter. He has a doctorate teaching basics of physical science, yet the only thing I learned was physics. DO NOT take him. He honestly doesn't care.

The material tends to be challenging. This class takes work. Brueckner is a great professor, as the good ones in science can be rare. Clear lectures (that are recorded & posted online) and lots of resources for help, including SI sessions. Lots of small hw assignments. Midterms are, as he says, "hard to ace, but hard to fail." Genuinely nice guy.
Great professor, had a good sense of humor and made the material fun to engage with. Definitely not a class to skip as the example problems make it so you dont need the book, makes class hard to ace hard to flunk and does an outstanding job explaining the material.

I found the 4 exams very hard, but between homework/iclicker (it's just showing up to class)/ and extra credit I still got a B. It is doable and probably easier than most of the science options.

Dr. B makes this class harder than it needs to be. From the very beginning, he acts as though students already know about physics, and the textbook only makes the class more confusing, so it's not really worth buying. The best way to get good grades on tests is to study homework questions, re-watch lecture videos, and go to review sessions.
This class is very math and physics oriented. Professor Brueckner is a great person and really wants to help students understand the material. Try to get into the special study groups and register your iclicker early so you can gather up as many extra credit points because they really help in the end.

Horrible teacher. Practice and HW questions are not the same as test questions. Tests are impossible, no matter how much you study. I lost internet in the middle of an exam he randomly assigned online and he would not give me an opportunity to retake the questions I never even saw, which dropped my grade a full letter. Dont take this class if you can't learn a lot of the material on your own. If you are an easy learner, this is a very rewarding class. He gives A LOT of extra points outside of tests, so its not super hard to do well but you have to work. He's an extremely intelligent and funny guy. "Hard to fail, hard to ace" is his saying and its very accurate.

I took Professor Brueckner's class spring semester of 2017. His lectures are solid and helpful for homework and tests. He gives you a ton of homework, but it is useful for his tests. Physical Science? More like Intro to Physics. Dr. B is a really well-intentioned guy, but to be honest I think he is a bit too far gone into his profession to really explain things to common folk like me. I ended up with an A, but I went to his office hours every now and then and studied a lot. I did fine, but I don't feel like I understood much.
Took this class with 3 of my friends and I was the only one who didn't withdraw, and I didn't pass. This class is extremely difficult if you aren't math/science inclined, or if you can't teach physics to yourself. Lecture is awful, he is smug and material isn't conveyed well, and tests are loaded with trick questions. Do not recommend,save yourself
This professor should have a lower rating. I don't know why some people are saying he's good. Easily one of the worst professors I've had at UCF. He doesn't teach well. He knows all the material but can't teach it back to us for the life of him. You will learn nothing from lectures BUT you have to go for iclicker. Save yourself and drop this class!
Took this class during Summer B and the work load was insane, I had to watch 10 hours of lecture videos in the course of one week. There were 6 different homework that were due by the second week of class. I was completely lost. He definitely understands the material well, but he cannot convey/ explain it to his students.
This professor would spend 50 minutes of the 70 minute class rambling about random things such as bad past students, dice, Chuck Norris, Justin Beiber, etc. Then he would expect his students to take his tests based on his practically nonexistent lectures instead of the fairly helpful textbook. He is rude, especially when his methods are questioned.
So, I had Dr. B this semester. I would say the highlight for this class would be the one time he went to the restroom and left his microphone on and the entire class heard him piss. When he returned, he was completely unaware of what happened. Realized it later and was pissed at himself. Overall, 10/10 would piss again
I currently have Dr. B and honestly his class is unlike any class I've had before. I go to class because he grades for attendance using the iClicker (which costs $60!) but while I'm there I rarely learn anything. I believe he is very knowledgeable on the subject but his method of teaching severely lacks structure and leaves everyone confused.
I would not suggest taking unless you absolutely need this credit. He rambles a lot, and when it comes time to take a test, you will have no idea what you're being tested on. You HAVE to attend the lectures, and when you do you'll be lost the whole time. Also, you have to purchase a $60 iClicker or else you have no hope of passing.
I literally don't learn anything in the lectures. He does clicker questions for attendance and you don't need to get them right which is nice. I literally never know what he's talking about in lecture and just read the textbook the night before the exam. The exams are average difficulty.
I had to withdrawn from this class half way into the semester. He doesn't know how to teach. I was actually very excited for the class but I was let down and very disappointed. had to buy a $60 clicker to answer 1 question a day. miss 2-3 lectures and you'll fail he says. tests are impossible. doesn't teach, just rambles on and on. records lecture

If you're a student who prefers self-teaching over sitting in lecture, Brueckner is for you. His lectures are side-tracked and vague, and he can be condescending to confused students. Best bet is to attend lectures for participation points but work on other classwork. Tests are almost entirely based on the (free) textbook.
He understands the subject well but doesnt know how to teach it. Lectures dont help with exams. The class is all over the place.
Great professor, really loves what he does. Don't need the textbook, offered online. Clicker points count. Tests are hard if you don't study, so study. would highly recommend!
Dr. B made this the hardest class I've taken at UCF. The material covered on tests is never clear. There will be questions on the tests on topics you've never seen before. He's condescending to students who are confused and ask questions. Only positive was the free textbook. Do yourself a favor and avoid.
All he does is talk about Chuck Norris. No "what-if" scores on webcourses. Slow at grading. Does not give a study guide for the final.
Worst class I have even taken. He makes the lectures mandatory where he goes off on a tangent about information that's not even related to the test. I look in the book and stuff on any exams aren't in there. The homework doesn't shed a light on any exams and he doesn't give study guides. Take this class with someone else!
Dr. B makes you buy an iClicker to do clicker questions every lecture, and these points are factored into participation points. If you don't show up, you're screwed. I often found myself spacing out during lectures because he always went off on a tangent. You can tell he's very passionate about astronomy, however, makes it harder for tests.
All tests are from the ppt in his lectures, he posts them online, so you wont miss anything but attendance is mandatory for your grade. He explains things pretty well, but tests are still kinda tricky. Homework? easy. There's a few extra credit opportunities. He's pretty cool & loves memes. Wish he was nicer to his TA though. Not a bad class.
Dr.B is a great communicator, so much so that he repeats himself several times. All it takes to pass is notes & thorough reviews of his Annotated Powerpoints posted on YouTube, that cover practically everything on each test. The textbook is free which is very helpful. Also, have iclicker registered on Canvas from Day 1 because he gives EC.
I have never seen such a discombobulated professor in my life. His homework may be easy but I cannot understand half of his lectures because he goes off on tangents and doesn't actually teach the material, leaving it up to the student to do all their own studying. If you are good at studying on your own this class will be easier for you.
Mess. Clearly doesn't know how to conduct an online course. Homework pops up whenever, not dictated by the syllabus & it may only stay open for 1 day. Tests are huge and there isn't an accessible way to study for them. He wrote the textbook with no rhyme or reason. Can barely find equations because he's too busy trying to be cutesy in his writing.
The class is pretty horribly structured from the get-go. There was never any major homework assignments, and he gave a few days of time to do them, but that was about the only good part. The tests felt like gigantic mish-mash from lecture and book which he never covered properly. Lectures are basically worthless, but attendance is required.
Absolutely horrendous teacher. I would suggest taking literally any other science class because I cannot imagine it gets much worse than this.
GO TO EVERY EXTRA CREDIT OPPORTUNITY!! The extra credit brought me from a 77% to a 97%. There's a lot of material in this class, lots of memorization. The tests can be difficult if you don't put a lot of effort into studying. Attendance is graded and the textbook is free online. The class is not hard to get a good grade in IF you do the extra c.
Pretty average professor for a pretty average class. He was kinda immature and boyish so that made class interesting sometimes. Not the best, not the worst. iClicker questions are a big part of your grade though. I personally thought the class was pretty easy, I never studied and pulled an A. A lot of people struggled in the class though.
Not gonna lie this class was hard for me and it involves a lot of work. But he is super sweet and when you need help he is willing to help you understand things if you go to his office hours. He cares a lot about his student and loves what he does. If you do the homework and the participation while attending class you should be able to pass.
I'm not a Science person, and I think this could have been a good class if he stayed focused with an understanding that this was a 1000 level course. He knows his stuff, but unfortunately does not know the best way to convey the material to nonscience folks. Too many unbiqutious questions on tests and not a lot of intro level material.
Has no clue how to run an online class. The best he does is upload old lectures that are usually just him rambling about nonsense anyway. Think you are safe by reading the textbook? Think again. The textbook (which he wrote, conveniently) is a mess. It is a glorified collection of blurbs of information hopelessly mixed up in a bunch of irrelevancy.

Professor Brueckner is honestly the most disrespectful professor I've ever had at UCF. He makes a difficult class even harder by being disorganized, rude, and disrespectful to everyone that comes in contact with him. He refuses to answer questions from students and you can tell he does not care if you pass or fail. Borderline harassment.
Took him for the 6 week Physics 2 course and I honestly enjoyed him, he's not as bad as people say. By just coming to class I was able to learn so much, not many professors actually teach they normally just read off powerpoints. Also he gives a good amount of extra credit. Overall its hard to fail this class, unless you just put 0 effort.
I took him during summer B. The class was 6 weeks and there were hiccups. He sometimes treated staff poorly and would loose his temper over small things. Overall I stayed out of his way and spoke to him after class. If you attend class and do well on HW and lab it would be hard to fail the class. Good amount of extra credit and good grading scale.
I took Dr. B for Physics 2 in 6 weeks for summer B. Although the class was fast paced I enjoyed taking the class and it was very doable. He was very understanding that the class was a summer class and he did not make our exams ridiculously hard. He gave us MANY bonus point opportunities. He gives opportunity for bonus points, and drops 1 out of 3 midterms. Lectures are posted online but its best to go to class for participation points. What he talks about in class is what he tests you on. He doesn't try to trick you on exam. He can be a little feisty, but it seems like he means no harm and wants you to succeed.
Dont take this class. The lectures are hard to follow because he goes off on rants about unrelated topics like every 5 minutes. The homework isnt much better because he tries too hard to be relatable instead of understandable and loads the questions with unnecessary nonsense. If perpetual confusion is your thing then go for it.
Ive never had to withdraw from a course until taking this one. Theres always a lot of homework, the final is worth 40% of your grade, the tests cover topics that have zero correlation to his lectures, & he even writes the textbook himself so its hard to even teach yourself. Hes a sweet guy and everything but the rigor is ridiculous. Dont do it
Do not take this class!! I went to every lecture yet my clicker q's grade says I was not there. The lectures are pretty much impossible to follow, my notes were the most disorganized because he talks as if everyone knows physics already and would go off on tangents constantly. No formula sheet yet we have to hunt for 20+ formulas for tests

Be prepared to remember concepts and attend lectures regularly. He is honestly pretty funny but the material is harder than I expected, more like physics. The homework is easy with plenty of attempts and he is very responsive to student questions through canvas. If you are not good with concepts and SAT style exams, I don't recommend, but I did ok.
He's funny but goes off on tangents a lot / explains concepts you do not need. The class is basically all physics with some chemistry concepts thrown in. The exams often ask about things that were not in lecture or in the book, so not easy. You need the book though and he posts lectures on youtube after class but don't skip, there's participation!
This professor sometimes jumbles up his lectures and doesn't get to the actual material until the last 20 minutes. However, he wants everyone to succeed. He provides extra credit and drops an exam. Go to class, you can skip one or two lectures but he does take class participation. Also, attend the SI sessions and you will do fine on his tests.
Tests are extremely hard and have nothing to do with lecture, homework, or any reviews. The textbook that he wrote does not make sense, and this class is not even physical science. This is a physics class. While Dr. B is very intelligent, he expects students to understand him as if they have the same knowledge. Unless you love physics, avoid.

Hard class for non-science people. If you get go to office hours he WILL definitely help you. I struggled a lot and went to office hours every week. My grades were definitely failing grades because I'm awful at science, but he did everything he could to help. Tons of extra credit and he gave me an amazing grade because I put the effort in. Non-science major here. Class was titled physical science but we learned straight physics material, a nightmare as you can imagine. Super nice and willing to help outside of class. Homework roughly every class. 4 tests including final, drops lowest, my highest test score was a C+. No review format for any tests. Mandatory online textbook
I don't regret taking him. I've never taken a physics class, but I only studied lightly for his exams and I've gotten an A and a high B. Three exams with the lowest dropped and a cumulative final. The homework is straightforward and always on Chegg. Lab is an easy A depending on the TA. If you read the textbook and do the homework its a chill class
This professor doesn't know how to teach at all. I had to read the book, every chapter and every section and I still barely passed. I even did all the practice questions. His tests are ridiculously hard when he barely teaches in class. Also he's horrible with webcourses, doesn't know how to work it. Do not take him if physics isn't your thing.
Dr. Breueckner is definitely an odd professor. The layout of his lectures and powerpoints are hard to follow and he tends to fly right through them. He loves his clicker questions so don't plan on skipping class that often!
IT major here. Prof. Brueckner is an odd one. He's passionate in teaching, but with a few flaws. Can sometimes be irritated. Lectures fell behind my lab section. Makes you use iClickers for attendance. Getting back hw a hassle. Was gone for almost 2 weeks. You def need to study a lot on your own. However, this class is very doable if you try.
This guy has good things and bad things, bad things: not good at teaching, you have to teach yourself a lot of material and attendance is a grade using the iclickers, sometimes lecture feels more like him talking about his life. Good things: a bit easier with the exams and homeworks then the other physics professors. Overall not bad

Dr. B is passionate about Physics, but his lectures fail to explain the actual concepts, and the class struggles to understand the material. He is a fair grader -- Explain your reasoning and you will get credit. However, I had points taken off on the homework for using calculus to explain my reasoning. This class is doable is you are self-driven.

Dr. B is very passionate about astronomy- not so passionate about his students. The summer course was very poor as he never gave us an updated lecture. All we listened to were spring and fall recordings which was mainly him talking about the class and their iclickers. Never received good feedback nor an outline for the class. Slightly cocky man.
This class was so unorganized and the professor made it much harder than it needed to be. It was so hard to find what the homework was going to be on and it was even harder to find out what we needed to know for the exams. He posted videos of his lectures that were 2 hours long and you had to watch about 10 of them.
The only reason I passed this class is because of his grading scale. I wasn't able to get the online textbook within the first two weeks, and because of that I bombed the test. There are three tests and one final, but luckily he drops your lowest test. Despite that, the reading is very confusing, as are the concepts. I would not recommend.
I thought this was a science class but I was sadly mistaken. This class is pure physics which if you are not an engineering major can make things very difficult. Pros: 3 tests, lowest grade dropped and the final. Dr. Brueckner is helpful when needed. Cons: The textbook is a difficult read. A lot more math than I was expecting.
Class is a lot of reading each week, maybe 6 homework assignments, and 4 exams. Super boring class that is 90% math, 10% history & names. Hard to get a good grade unless you do well on the minimal number of exams.
Was so confused.... the entire time. This class was not what I was expecting. I didn't realize this class was all physics. SO MUCH MATH. He's very knowledgeable professor however, he doesn't know how to translate to an understanding that us non engineer majors would understand.
I took this class expecting an easy level physical science class, but I was mistaken. This course is pure physics. The professor seems cool, but does not provide good feedback. He just regurgitates his lectures and doesn't elaborate. He uses an online textbook, which is a mess. Also uses video lectures from previous semesters and they're useless.
The tests for this class are hard! The material is hardly ever what you are quizzed on so you really have to work to earn a good grade. Be sure to keep up and don't fall behind. Overall, I think he is a very solid choice. He gives you multiple attempts for the homework and quizzes, which I think is saving every ones grade.
Worst ever. The good part is the textbook is online so no need to buy the book, but he is horrible. We all complained about the test so much he started handing out extra credit for the class. I was extremely disappointed in this class. I read the catalog before deciding to sign up and I was expecting to learn and review the stuff you learn throughout high school. I was totally wrong. The ONLY thing that was taught in this class was math. I would not suggest taking this class.
First things first, he said that he was going to have homework and there were barely any homework assignments. Secondly, it seems to me that his tests are more concept based which is strange for a physics class. Thirdly, he is very nice guy just his organization of the class and materials seem to be just thrown together. Just take someone else.
(1) 1st Idk how I even pulled an A by how garbage this class was. My suggestions for survival if you have the unfortunate fate of taking this wildly pointless and unorganized mess. Go to lecture for the clickers but ignore the lecture.. do some biochem or something else important. Go home watch the lecture 2x speed because this man talks EXTREMELY
(2) slow. You'll realize half of the lecture is pointless when he derives the formula used to get the speed of light you'll never be tested on. For tests focus on the relevant 2 things in each lecture. Read the tb annotations he makes but other that content he skips the rest. Variations of previous exam questions pop on the final.
(3) You dont do real labs even though at least 1 credit is dedicated to labs so that's 1 plus (no reports). The "labs" he tries to do are pointless & sometimes he doesnt know why they dont work. Barely any hw but helpful for exams. Sometimes he pronounces things funny on purpose or doesn't use correct physics terms so good luck on the physics MCAT
3-hour lectures that could be summarized in 30min, not enough time on tests and quizzes, spends the whole class trying to derive equations rather than giving practice examples and explaining concepts. uses the worst textbook one can find on planet earth(half of the practice Q's have wrong answers), but it is free. I would not recommend to anyone.
I've taken a physics class before and even have credit for College Physics I and I can tell you for a fact that half of the content he teaches is not accurate. Even when he does teach, you wouldn't know because he rambles about a problem without explaining what he is doing. To top it off, he thinks Chuck Norris memes are still relevant.

The class mostly consists of breaking up into semesters long groups and in class you will do a ton of classwork assignments. While all the lectures are online, it is completely self-directed. It is nice he offers online office hours, but he isn't the best and explaining things. Do not take this class as a Six-week summer class. If you watch the lectures twice and read you'll be fine but you are essentially on your own so good luck.
Professor Brueckner's online AST2002 class is the sloppiest mess of a class I've ever experienced. The course is disheveled and unorganized, not to mention permeated with immature, outdated jokes in places where you'd really prefer some actual education. The homework barely pertain to the readings, and tests are a shot in the dark. Do not take him!
VERY HARD CLASS. I took this class in the summer and there is a lot of reading to do within a short time. Tests can be hard and some questions don't even come from the lectures or readings. You learn from youtube lectures and reading. If you take this class, you have to work very hard and not slack. Positive: he provides the textbook in webcourses.
Astronomy was way harder than I thought it was going to be, but Dr. Brueckner is very clear in his lectures and is deliberate with the assigned readings he gives. Definitely study for this class, but also have fun with it. He makes lots of jokes and movie/TV references which makes class well worth it.

Not an easy class or easy concepts, (mostly math which I'm good at) and doesn't teach it well making it really hard to do well in his class. Textbook is his own written book so not much in it to help you, or just other concepts not even needed. Gives very bad and minimal feedback making it hard to try and do better other than teach yourself more.
He is very passionate about his material however he expects his students to have a similar understanding to physics as he does, even in an intro class. In his lectures, he will explain how to do certain problems but then on the homework and tests the problems are entirely different and you need to figure out how to do them on your own.
Not a good teacher at all. Besides the fact that he doesnt do a very good job teaching and makes it very difficult to understand, he is not helpful at all. I reached out multiple times for help and feedback on tests, and was turned away every time telling me to just look at the discussions which were of no help and didnt answer my question.
If youre not very good at math and have trouble working under pressure DO NOT take the 6 week summer course. Other than that you should be alright. He gives extra credit so take advantage of that! Make sure you watch all the lectures and keep up with the homework because you will have to work for your grade for sure! Hard to fail but hard to Ace!
This man cannot teach AT ALL. And his grading process is SO UNFORGIVING, i mean even if you took Physics in high school this class will still be very hard to pass. He grades HW randomly. If you get a 8/12 on one homework, and get a perfect score on the other two. You might get unlucky and he will use the first homework as your (homework grade).
Avoid if possible. He doesn't give specific feedback on any tests, quizzes, homework, or class participation grades. He doesn't let you see where you went wrong. More than halfway through the semester we still don't have most things graded. His teaching is unclear and unnecessarily complicated. He expects a lot from students but he's lazy.
This is the most stressful class I have ever taken... and its physics 1. I don't know where to start, he locks web course so you are unaware of your grade, during our 3 hour zoom lecture TWICE a week he talks about nothing and yells at us, and then homework includes calc 3 concepts and he gets mad when we use the textbook but he dont teach.
He grades hard and the material in the lectures and textbook are never in the tests! There are easier astronomy professors so take them!
Awful dont take it online. its youtube lectures from two years ago and the tests still make no sense. 3 midterm exams lowest is dropped then homework and final are only grades and he locks canvas so you cant see your grade because he uses a wack grading scale. You literally will not get an A unless you spend an ungodly amount of time

Brueckner wouldnt stop taking our class as a joke, making memes in the lecture, and calling the Sun the S-U-N. To spook him I asked him what was the difference between the Sun and the S-U-N after the exam
I took him for astronomy and I really enjoyed the class! The tests are all based around the lectures and you have about ten tries for every homework assignment, which you can always find online. Just a couple of quizzes and then three tests and a final. The lowest test score is dropped too! I thought that the lectures were really good as well.
Dr. B had the potential to be a good professor. He seems to have the sense of humor to connect with younger students. However, he falls short, being perpetually absent from the entire course. We were expected to learn from online recorded lecture from 2 years ago, and graded upon homeworks and tests that have nothing to do with the lectures.
Given the fact that I've been a casual Astronomy enthusiast for most of my life, I imagine this class was easier for me than it would be to students who aren't familiar with the subject. I mean, he drops a mid term and even gives extra credit. That's more than I've gotten from other professors at UCF.
Dr. B took someone completely uninterested in Astronomy (me) and made it an integral part of my daily thought process even after the class ended. He is hilarious, goofy, and inspirational. Definitely have to do the work, he tries to make the tough stuff as blatant as possible.
Avoid at all costs if you are taking Physics I. His lectures go off on tangents and he is extremely condescending if you ask him a question. He can and will spend over half the class on announcements instead of lecturing. If you get something wrong on homework or a test, good luck because he won't tell you what you got wrong.

All the preparation you get for each test is about 10 questions from a homework assignment. He recycles his lectures and didn't have office hours till like halfway through the semester.
the layout of this class is very confusing for no reason. although students are given lectures to watch, half of the content isn't even on the tests. the assigned reading is A LOT of content to go through and it's almost impossible to study for exams, but at least one is dropped. class also uses honorlock for exams which is a horrible program.
This is the hardest class I have taken in college so far. The tests are all proctored and I never know what to study. I watch all the lectures, take notes, make quizlets and read the book but somehow none of the information I studies is on the test. I would not recommend this class.

He is at best a mediocre teacher. Took his COVID remote section, and basically every lecture he ends up wasting from 15-20+ minutes in miscellaneous before giving content. This professor is very rude and arrogant to his students. I had him as an online class and every time a student tried to get him to clarify something he would snap at them. This man embodies exactly what a professor should NOT be. You also can't review old tests correct answers for the final cumulative test.
The textbook is somewhat difficult to understand and doesn't always align with lecture content. Also the feedback given back on exams is vague and not very useful because doesn't let you know what you did wrong. Overall, the class was doable but wasn't structured as well as it could have been.
Dr. Brueckner is incapable of teaching. Tests aren't opened after taking them so you don't know what exactly you got wrong. Instead of opening the tests, he gives "blurb sheets" which tell you which questions you got wrong, but these aren't released until way after you forgot the questions. Also writes all tests (including final) the night before.
Paid a tutor $1000 and couldn't pass a test. His lectures are completely unrelated to the tested material. My tutor is a grad student and couldn't even understand what was being taught. The book is useless because he doesn't follow it and writes his own tests. No clue how he expects anyone to pass.
Scored low on every midterm and this guy generally isnt good. If you are taking him study the lecture notes the most, not the textbook bc the test is heavily based on his lectures

His way of teaching is very specific and not based on the textbook at all, tests were made the night before and were only based on lecture and homework. Hardest class ive ever taken because he doesnt explain concepts at all and dont even think about asking a question because he will ridicule you. Learned the bare minimum and had to teach myself!
Worst professor Ive had. Very rude to students during lectures. Says his exams are exclusively based off of his lectures and will even misguide students to believe certain things will be on the exam when theyre not. I recommend reading the chapters and watch lectures multiple times. Exams are more conceptual. Makes class harder than it has to be.
Not a great professor. Taught very weird specific material that was not what we were tested on and only increased confusion. I also feel like they assumed we had prior physics knowledge. I remember them getting mad at the class a lot as well when it was really not necessary. Made what could've been a fun subject a nightmare to be honest.
This professor was rude whenever someone asked a question and was not really helpful in answering them. He didn't explain most of the concepts well to people who have never taken physics before. Although class attendance was optional, it's strongly encouraged as he often included material found only from the lectures in his exams.
Professor Brueckner can be very blunt and sarcastic. They are not easy to get a hold of and use their 4-year-old video lectures requiring students to teach themselves with a very unorganized setup. If you do manage to get in contact with them, they are very arrogant and talk down to their students. A major letdown for students excited about space
I had to take this a pre-req for my major. Their teaching and notes format stressed me out and was very hard to follow along; almost everyone I knew in the class were failing all the tests. Seems chill though and I respect the cheesy science puns. If you don't have to take this class, don't. Your GPA will thank you later. WATCH THE LECTURES!!
Professor B, is a truly amazing human being. He truly cares about the success of his student, very humble, has a good heart and has a good sense of humor. He makes you work for your grade, but he is easily available for questions. Test and homework are not easy, but he provides excellent youtube lectures. I will definitely would take him again.
At the beginning of the semester I was considering dropping this class. The only thing that kept me going was the very generous grading scale. A 60% is a C and a 75% is a B. Exams are beyond difficult the average was a 60% for all of them but the lowest gets dropped which is nice. Very test heavy and homework heavy.
Honestly this class was way harder than I expected the professor is a nice person but definitely wouldnt take a class with him again.
Professor does not like to tell students what is on exams nor tells you straight up what to expect either. Is rude and kinda of a smart***. Gets upset when multiple students ask him for clarification when what he provides does not make sense. Not sure how hes a college level professor.
I've never rated a professor because in my 3 years of undergrad I've never felt the need to, even with substandard professors. I have to take this class to fulfill GEP requirements and had I known what the professor and class are actually like, I would've absolutely done everything in my power to drop this class. Comparable to AP physics
I have never struggled in a class before. This class is unreasonably difficult and you have no idea what to expect for the exam.
I am currently taking astronomy with this professor and it has been an absolute blast. Granted, I've always had an interest in planetary sciences, and he absolutely targets an interest of mine. Would have loved to have taken a class with him in person, since his lectures are very charming and digestible, especially if you care about the subject

He posts boring lectures that are not even updated, he uses lectures from years ago. He's definitely passionate about astronomy, but after this course I have zero interest in astronomy.
His unfunny chuck norris and lord of the rings memes are about as bad as the course organization. Course is set up like a maze with recordings of lectures from in class sessions from 2018. A lot of his lectures contain incoherent rambling and he is horrible at explaining the content. Class is all over the palce and the tests are hard for no reason.
Overly reliant on 5 year old lectures. He is rude and passive aggressive to students, and does not tell you what will be on tests. His study material for the final is stupidly complicated. His ridiculously unfunny impact font and Chuck Norris memes feel like I've the late 2000's/early 2010's internet, and not in a good way. Do not take this class.
Do NOT take this class! Wait another semester for this GEP if it means avoiding this professor. Too much homework that gets condensed into only 50 pts (not enough), uses outdated lectures, heavily conceptual tests that discard most of what was practiced in the hw and lectures, horribly written textbook, explains concepts like you already know it.
If you value having your professor answer your questions in a meaningful manner DO NOT take this class. This guy will never give you a straight answer. Won't give you a study guide for the tests even though they make up 70% of the grade. If you want a course with a decent professor I suggest you take chem.

Very long lectures (10-20 videos per exam (3 total+mini final), 30min each). Follow the lectures and glance over the textbook. Content itself isn't hard to understand, it's just a lot. Tests have a few irrelevant questions not in lecture/book. Class load is similar to AP (HS). If you have good study habits, you'll pass the class: organize yourself!
This professor made me regret winning the sperm race. He does not tell you anything to prepare for the exams and you need to study as much as you can from his sleepy lectures and extensive book. No matter the amount of studying you will do he will manage to pick the most obscure questions for the exam. Good luck
Very easy professor for the lab portion of Physics 1, we had 3 total labs and all of them were in groups. Overall, super easy assignments.
The class is easy, all you have to do is fill out the mandatory surveys every week and finish the Labs. Final is also easy. The problem is that he's not communicative about the class until there's a problem (like not explaining that the surveys are mandatory) and then when he does communicate he comes off like a jerk. Easy class, I dont like him.
This class was terrible, im interested in astronomy and was excited to take the class, but all he does is post lectures that are 20 years old and gives extremely hard exams.
I took Dr. Bs course for summer a (6wks) and did not regret it. His class was very organized and interesting. The only reason why he could have low ratings on here is because students that usually take this course arent interested in Astronomy (it may seem like a lot of work in this class for gen-ed) whereas I am pursuing a career in it.
Prof is extremely laidback and chill. The TAs will be the one you will be interacting mainly. All the TAs are super chill and will basically give you a free A as long as you are trying. The work is extremely easy with or without a group. There were 5 labs for summer that took at most 1 hour. Some took like 5 mins to do. Past reviews are old. Trust.
By some miracle, I passed this class with an A, but it was due to a bunch of extra credit that was given at the end of the 6 week course because everyone was about to fail this class. Expects you to know the formulas and have prior knowledge of the topic, which makes it harder to learn. He cares about his students, but his teaching style is no good
This lab was ran by his TA, Sunghyun Kim, who was excellent! Always willing to help, straight forward and most days we got out early. As much as I hated the lecture portion of this course, the lab made it fun and I made friends to study with because of this course. Only downside was the lab material didn't relate to what was being taught in class.
Lecture was sometimes boring and Dr. B got off-track frequently, but he tried his best to be engaging. There was graded HW and extra credit, so even if you did poorly on the quizzes/exams, you could still get a good grade. Textbook was used, but assignments only had material covered during lecture. Tests weren't too hard if you prepared.
PT. 1 - The absolute worst professor I've had throughout my entire college experience. You won't learn anything from his lectures where he boasts about how smart he is and talks about random, irrelevant facts. Don't expect to know what chapters and content your exam will be on because he won't tell you.
Avoid! By far worst professor I've ever had. His only guidance will be to sift through disorganized and unhelpful lectures to figure out what content is on exams. Oh and the grading scale.... good luck charlie. Be prepared for frequent toddler temper tantrums. He's singled out and gaslighted multiple students during class time in front of everyone.

If you are just taking this class to fulfill a Gen Ed, I would definitely not recommend. Attendance is mandatory and will affect your grade. He bounces between topics within the lecture and isn't very clear on the topics presented. His textbook has many spelling and grammar issues as well which do not help if you aren't understanding the class.
Very math heavy- not easy content at all. The only resource he provided were videos of his in person lectures (which were very confusing). I had to teach myself everything. Luckily answers from homework assignments were sometimes recycled word for word on the exams. Class grades weren't visible until halfway through and don't update automatically.
If you do not have to take this class, DON'T! I only took this class because it was a 1000-level class and my last GEP. He was the only professor available. If you need to take the GEP, choose another class with another professor with a better rating. I'm not at risk of failing, but he did not make the course any easier. NEVER taking him again.
I took his lab section. He never showed up in class. Webcourse was horribly organized, syllabus was short and confusing. Refused to release lab modules early even though you had extra time in class. My GTA was the only thing that made this class bearable.
To pass you have to memorize his lectures and remember pretty obscure facts. Failed the first and second test and then decided it was easier to just teach myself. Friends in other physics said he teaches things so much harder than it has to be. Good thing is he drops your lowest midterm. 25-point final which is the same as hw and participation.
You can tell Dr. B is really passionate about Physics and teaching new students. His tests are heavily based on material covered in lecture and has a free textbook link that goes more in depth on the topic and even does examples in class. I did not think this class would be going so well for me but it is thanks to Dr. B.

This Professor is pretty average. At the start of the course, I wasn't his biggest fan because his lectures were off-topic. So at the start of the course, you have to do a lot of self-study. However, he has a pretty good grading scale which makes up for it. You must attend class to get iclicker participation as that is a big chunk of your grade.
Super cool teacher. Homework is harder than the tests most of the time. Just pay attention to the lectures and you'll be fine.
GOAT. Brueckner is one of the nicest and most engaging professors I have ever taken. He truly cares for his students and does his best to keep that class interested in the lecture. Class is pretty easy with one exam being dropped that isn't the final and lots of opportunity to boost your grade with homework and attendance. Take him for physics.

However, Dr. B a brilliant professor and incredibly kind person with a clear passion for his field, he wants students to learn and succeed. Atendance is mandatory/a grade. Pay attention to lecture and take extensive notes. Great professor and person!
Sometimes he got carried away with lectures. But genuinely he doesn't want his students to fail and office hours with him are extremely helpful. Give out general extra credits. If you're not a good test person (like me) make sure to attend lectures for participation and do all the homework as they are a big chunk of your grades
Solid professor and kind guy. Exams were not too bad, though sometimes large proportions of exams would be stuff that wasn't reviewed too heavily, which led to confusion. Participation points were a bit inconsistent, but other than that, not much complaints. Just review lectures and don't fear contacting him, he's at heart a kind person.
I hate physics and just only passed with a C. But let me tell you, I love this dude. He is so cool and kind and genuinely does care. COME TO CLASS. I-clicker will save your grade. He does a massive extra credit end of sem. He's so kind but sarcastic in a funny way. I wish I was taking him for physics 2. (Also my grade went from a 65 to 73 bc of ec)
He is a funny and caring guy but I don't think teaching is his strong suit. He said that exams were based only off of lectures, yet only one exam out of four was actually based off of lecture material. He's also a bit disorganized. He would say he would assign homework and it was never assigned. An A is possible but be prepared to teach yourself
Professor B is nice, but teaching is not one of his best attributes. He uses iclicker question for participation so attending class is important, especially since these questions are good study material for exams. Also his exams are pretty doable, even if you don't like physics as much like me. 25 questions and most are multiple choice. Good luck!
I really enjoyed taking Physics I with Prof. Bruekner and wish I could be taking Physics II with him. I disagree with those saying that teaching is not a strength of his. He does a great job of simplifying material and making problems easy to understand. I had practically zero knowledge of physics before this class and I finished with a 100%.
He's a cool and helpful professor, but his teaching style and class structure can be convoluted at first. Self-studying is important early on. Luckily, there are plenty of resources, like his SI sessions and recorded lectures. CramBetter was especially helpful for me in this class.
Didn't post the full syllabus until AFTER the withdrawal for full refund deadline otherwise I would never have put up with him. Despite this being an ONLINE course he only offered tests for a single day; a huge inconvenience for anyone with full time jobs. Anyone who thinks a CLASS AVERAGE of 72 on a test is a good thing shouldn't be teaching.

Teaches an awesome subject in the worst way possible. Really just not competent at teaching. Passing is absolutely possible but actually learning is way harder than it should be.
This professor assigned, on average, less than one homework per month. The entire class grade is worth 250 points. The tests are incomprehensible, full of typos, and impossible. He's too lazy and his TA's are too incompetent to grade reliably and with haste, so you might wait months before receiving your first homework grade. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.
He wastes class time with unrelated tangents, makes the frqs on the quizzes and tests stuff he never taught in class, and never assigns any homework, giving us nothing to study for these quizzes and tests. Avoid taking him but if you do, good luck studying on your own.
This is the first class that's made me cry since high school and it's literally a GEP. For our upcoming exam he only posted the homework and study materials a week before. Things are on the exams that aren't included in the lectures or study materials. All exams are proctored. He is also just inconsiderate.

I hate the people who trash Dr. Brueckner. He's a bit disorganized bcus he's battling cancer. Lectures are graded some is dropped and it's easy to get when u read the book. He'll tell u not to read it but will straight up tell u what's on the exam in the comments within the book. I barely tried and ended the class with a 99% with the extra credit.
He didn't post the syllabus until after add/drop. The entire course is based on lectures from 2017. Your grade is based on 3 midterms (1 is dropped), the final, and the few hws. He changed the date of our final the week before and it's only open for 18 hours. I got an A with the extra credit he gave bc so many students complained about failing.
If you depend on any amount of organization to pass a course, get ready to fail. His class is extremely unorganized, your grade is almost entirely midterms, and he is ZERO help. You ask him for help, and he instead degrades you or simply doesn't respond. He doesn't tell you what to read, lectures are almost a decade old, and are not relevant.
If you aren't ready to sit down and listen to the most pointless crap then dont take this class. Other than that its easy if you are science minded and want to learn from this. He is disorganized but at least had a sense of humor. he is very straight up with you. Harsh to put it best. You can pass it but you wont have fun.

He is difficult to understand due to health issues, his slides have no information/ he just says to “listen to what he says”, he doesn't grade work for months, he gives no practice, he wastes the first 20 mins of class daily, and he doesn't give formulas. don't take his class if you need physics ever again.
First 4 assignments were due at 6am w/ no mention of it on syllabus. Didn't cut anyone slack. Many OLD, bad quality lectures. Many questions on tests were not in lectures or book. Uses Lockdown Browser. Can't see what we got wrong on exams or provide the right answers to study for final exam. Only positive is his grading scale benefits us.

Even though Dr. B is a really nice guy, he did not do a very good job explaining physics. He goes on a lot of tangents and wastes a lot of time on stuff that's barely related to the actual material. His whole class was really cut and dry and not very in depth. Reason I was able to do well was the organic chemistry tutor. Avoid Dr. B if you can.

He requires attendance for lectures and they are painful. He's funny but by the first week you get tired of it because he rambles and gets off topic. Not only that, he over complicates his lectures, giving excessive work that won't be on his exams confusing my group. I went from a C to almost an A by ignoring his lectures and looking up YT videos.
Took this class over summer & honestly wasn't too bad. 3 midterms & 1 final, all on lockdown browser w/ webcam, but he only best out 2/3 midterms. Dr. B is honestly a nice guy, but lectures were super long & attendence was mandatory for "participation points" that carry a decent amount of grade. If u can stand 2hr lecture, take him for an easy A/B
Unfortunately, he never gave feedback to any of our tests in the Summer A session. He kept saying he would and by the time the final came we still didn't received feedback on tests. I asked why he didn't just open the tests after everyone took it he insisted on giving written feedback and still never received any. Good professor besides this.
If you're good at studying on your own and teaching yourself, it's a pretty simple class. Test in lockdown browser but doesn't relate to lectures, weirdly based on concepts and ideas of physics and not actual physics? Review the homework is all I can say.
Bad format, rambles on about nothing, and is very unorganized when it comes to due dates and grades. Lots of random information you need to know from the lectures, textbook, and supplement reading. Makes what should be an easy class unnecessarily time consuming and difficult.

Dr.B was an excellent teacher. As someone who struggles with physics and almost didn't pass physics 1 with another professor, I did pretty well as he tested only on stuff in the lectures. He doesn't expect you to know things he never taught unlike others. He is also understanding with extenuating circumstances, and gives pretty engaging lectures.
Dr. B was a great professor his lectures can be all over the place but you can really tell that he cares for his students, as long as you show up to class you will pass.
DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASSES ONLINE. Unfortunately he did suffer a stroke and this makes his voice very hard to understand and he only gives recorded audio lectures for online students to use which can prove super unhelpful. He rambles, focuses on things that won't be in the test and the class overall is super test heavy. A definite skip for online.

Pay attention to his lecture problems he solves in class and his demonstrations. Tests are very conceptual based with applicational extra credit. He does have a lisp but it can be adjusted to.
If you take his online class be prepared to fail. all he does is audio record himself and the presentation experiments etc are all in class. he doesnt record them. you will have no idea what he is saying. he grades with no rhyme or reason.will not accept ANY extensions even when you are ill.tests make no sense. I am a straight A student normally.
Lectures are kind of all over the place, and the topics covered in them are pretty challenging, but the exam questions are all pretty much common sense. Overall not too difficult. I also used CramBetter to help me study for exams and supplement the lectures, and I found it to be really helpful.
