This teacher is the man, tells you what he expects of you without the BS, no beating around the bush. Definetely take him every chance you get.

Best teacher ever is the only thing that I can say. No book required, no tests, no nothing. All you do is current events or something (I forgot) and at the end of the class you do a paper and the whole other time he teaches you how to make money.

I have taken Thom on campus and on line. He is the most dynamic and intellegent professor I have ever taken. His on line course treats you like an adult. There is a lack of busy work. You are expected to be able to do research. He is more than fair in his grading and was willing to help when asked.

There were only 3 assignments!!! One project, 2 tests. The timeframe was a lil difficult (1 week=7essays) but definitely doable! Passed with a 98 and hardly spent any time on anything...If you hate history and are just trying to get the credit-TAKE HIM!!!!!

As a college graduate who took this class for certification I can promise you he will prepare you for university level work. The test require time and research but unlike some university professors he is always willing to answer questions and be helpful. The best part no unnecessary busy work.

This guy kicks ass!!! He is funny as hell has a good sense of humor, but if you say something stupid and not researched in class, he will bite your damn head off. Happened to me a few times. I took his class online over the summer. It was a easy course but took alot of time and effort. We had 3 assignments total for the whole class. You have 2 essay exams and 1 Final Essay. It was a little much at first, but he grades really easily. I would take this professor again if I had to. He was a great teacher and very helpful.

I took it online. You have one project due and two essays to write. There is not chats or postings to do. The class is designed for the working student so that is why he doesnt make you do other stuff. I didnt quite like his grading. He was tought. I was never sure what I was going to get becaue he doesnt tell u what he is looking for.

His online test are straight forward essay exams that require research and I found prepared me for other college level courses. He was always helpful and answered e-mails quickly. Take him! Most thought provoking course I have ever taken. Sends the essay exams two weeks before the due date which is pleanty time to do the research. You have all semester to work on the future project,which requires you to state how events today may impact the future of this country. He was very helpful when asked and a very fair grader.

To any of the non-Costa-believers, believe it! I was fortunate to have experienced Mr Costa, shortly after the 9/11 tragedies and what he told us, BEFORE it was revealed by our governmner to us, would all be true. He knows his stuff and how to relate it to the real world, which is more valuable than knowing that Washington was the 1st US President!

Costa has a unique style of teaching that I enjoyed very much. He involved his students and made us think. He is very cocky and oppinionated and doesn't seem to care for oppinions that differ from his. He does have a problem with confrontation and can be brutal if you disagree with something he says. Very political.

This was a great class for the working student. I have to warn you when he says not to procrastinate DON'T. You have three main things to complete for the class (that's it), but it's a lot of writing and research All and All I would say take him! Just don’t procrastinate 

The class is pretty straight forward. I took FIN2100 online. There were only two assignments, each count towards 50% of your grade. That may scare some people off, but the assignments are not difficult. Costa is very easy to contact. Responds to email almost immediately. Not a very demanding class. Great if you have other obligations.

Three essay assignments that use the txtbook and your own refrences. He is a very fair grader and answers e-mails quickly. Very helpful instructor. I will take another course from him.

Wow what a great online experience this was. The discussion questions where informative. The exams required some research but were better than the old true false fill in the blank test in other classes. In addition when I needed help professor Costa was so helpful and I was able to pass the course with a good grade because of his help.

The class had a way of keeping my interest with an approach I have not experienced in other online classes. I would have loved to have had tests and quizzes as opposed to the whole class being graded on a couple of essay assignments. I took this class online and the research took up most of my time. I would not take one of his courses again.

I liked the choices this class provided. Exams allowed choice of questions (3 of 7) you think you can do best on.You can even substitute the second exam with a book review of your choice. The project even gives you choices. Discussion question were great. Prof. Costa so helpful. Highly recommend!

Prof. Costa is the best teacher i ever had in FCCJ. Professor Costa is an excellent professor. However, he expects college level work and nothing less. It is imperative that you actively participate in Blackboard and complete good research papers using the proper writing style. If not, your grade will reflect it. I would definitely take a class again with this professor.

I took him over the summer and I really enjoyed him and appreciate the questions that he asked us. I was just recently getting into politics but I learned by doing a lot of research and I learnt a great deal of current politics and was able to tell people what is actually going on. Professor Costa is an amazing instructor. I took his AHM2020 online course last spring semester ('09) and loved it. I learned so much from it, discussion board questions and you must engage in discussions.

Mr. Tosta is a wonderful professor! His class was not easy, however if you do your research and do college level exams you will do well. He wants you to use crital thinking skills and stand behind your answers by having knowledge of researched information besides your text book. Mr.Costa's true goal is for you to learn! I took this class online. 2 DB's, 2 Essay exams (2 q's each), and Project essay exam (6 q's). All exams were research papers. Put forth effort, and you will do fine. Not a class for people who give minimum effort.

Very detailed professor,tool this class online. one project and two papers and 2 discussions. He makes you think and work hard for your grade. At times the grading rubric was confusing but i got a high B. Easy if you stay on all assignments

First online class and it was the best experience. The instructor was always available to help me. His assignments required work but were not impossible. Was helpful when asked giving advice on how to do better. His discussions were stimulating and he allowed different ideas to be expressed as long as you could back up you position. Take him!

Prof Costa is awesome! I took him last year and decided to take him again next semester because he was so good. Not an easy A, but he makes you think outside of the box. No formal exams, but this class does involve a fair amount of writing and research. Family Tree project was actually kinda fun because your research your own family. Def recommend!

Professor Costa is a passionate, creative educator! He's not the easiest professor I've had, but definitely one of the most devoted. If you're interested in getting the most out of your education, take his classes! I've taken both 2010 and 2020, and managed a 4.0 in both!

I took his class this Spring and was surprised by amount of research/writing. I learned a lot about the Govt. He doesn’t let you study for a test which you quickly forget. He is understanding and I recommend him to anyone who is willing to learn about our Government.

Professor Costa is a good teacher. He is very passionate about his subject. Everything must be done in APA format, which is bothersome for someone who is only used to MLA. There are no tests or quizzes. Just two discussions and three exam papers. It's a lot of writing. But that's it. He gives you 1/2 a month to work on each paper.Not a harsh grader

Very strict!!! Like the most strict teacher ever, by far! If you don't cite correctly or reference any material at all than your grade WILL SUFFER. The discussion boards are monitored by him fiercely and any biases or arguments he deletes immediately. Best professor I have had so far. His class will prepared you for the rest of your college experience. Some research is required not like that described below. I earned a 100% in Amer. Gov't online. I liked the alternative format that Costa uses of no quizzes or tests. Only 2 discussions and 3 writing assignments. If you follow his very clear directions, you will get an A!!

I enjoyed taking Professor Costa's class. There was 2 DBs, 1 Project, and 2 Essay Exams. He gives directions on how he wants everything done. I received an A in the class, and I really learned a lot. The class can be quite challenging, you definitely will have to put in the time and effort.

Seems from reading the reviews students who do bad in a class complain the most when it is there own fault. I got a C in this class and I deserved it. Yet Costa was helpful and encouraged me when I was lazy. He was interested in my success got me through the class. Don’t do the work blame yourself. Will take another course and do better next time

If you don’t want to read or do critical thinking class not for you. You will then write a bad review. This is college folks not high school. Read, think and pass like I did!

Seemed difficult to work a 6 week class but this professor isn't difficult at all. Lays out expectations and gives help to anyone, and encourages you to seek help if needed. Spend the extra 1-2 hours a week and review your discussions and essay. It will make a big improvement on your grade in the end. Highly recommended. Easy A.
