OK, so I didn't take his class but my friends said he's good and easy. But I did grad. w/ BA in Psych and he was an advisor to me. He's friendly and patient and a good help for students!

The class is pretty easy....the test can be tricky though. You have to go to class because he doesnt follow the book at all. Overall, its a good class!

Excellent teacher and an interesting course. Thesections on mate selection, Piaget, and IQ are pretty cool. Lectures are organized and clear. You must attend class and do study guides to do well on exams. He's willing to stay after class to help students.

OK forget the infamous stories about the cognition courses. I actually enjoyed this course-was not boring at all. YES, lots of notes=but that's all that's needed. He's EXTREMELY clear so note-taking is easy. Study notes=A or solid B. Tests are not intimidating.

Coyle is very thorough in his lectures to where if you attend EVERY class and write down EVERYTHING he says, you don't have to buy the book to get an A on the tests. That's what I did. It's pretty tough to take all those notes (avg 5 pages per class), but if you want to save $ and not buy the book, it's worth it. His tests are difficult only if you haven't MEMORIZED all the notes. I busted my ass and took tons of notes and memorized it all, so I got A's on all the tests and an A in the class.

Just to reiterate what every hear has said, and it's still true. Awesome professor - Only tests from notes and specific readings he assigns. Review Sheets. Fair Tests. You will need to ATTEND EVERY CLASS. It will make getting the A easy.

He was a good teacher but your notebook will resemble a novel when you're done with his class. The book is useless. He teaches so much better than any info you could get out of the book. And the best reason I would recommend him is because he treats his students with respect. He's very helpful and never talks down to you. His tests are challenging.

Verbal, but w/an overhead projector which shows the titles and main points as he's lecturing,it's very hard to lose track. He's very organized. It's not just him rambling about diff. topics and u trying to keep up. He likes to REPEAT info to make sure everyone gets down the notes since his exams do come from the notes.Exams can be a little hard...

You must show up for class and take notes. His tests are by no means transparent, but if you know your stuff, you will do well. He's very clear and systematic about delivering material. The only real con: This man is waiting to explode from the ignorance (perceived and real) of his students. That said, he does get some painfully ignorant questions.

D.r Coyle is a wonderful instructor. His notes are clear, to the point and he tells you what are the most important information to remember. His tests are easy, but they are over the notes and the chapter readings. I highly recomend this professor, he cares about his students and loves to teach and learn.

Really hard material. It doesn't seem like a psychology class... more like a biology class. The terms you have to know are nuts! Coyle is a great guy, but having the 3rd exam as well as a cumulative final on the same day is just INSANE!!

Class is completely about experiments!! His tests are brutal because there is an answer choice for A, a different answer choice for B, both of the above for C, and D is none of the above for EVERY SINGLE QUESTION!!! Drove me insane!!

Lectures are very clear and easy to follow. For tests rely on lecture materials and not on book. For this reason ALWAYS go to class. Every test question has the option of "A and C are true" or "all of the above" so read carefully. Honestly though, tests arent that hard. Just go to class and you can make an A.

Dr. Coyle's a great professor-very passionate about the subject and his student's performance. His lectures are at a great pace (there's no way you're not going to get down what he's saying). Tests aren't a cinch but if you study your lecture notes you'll be just fine. He also gives you a heads up on any test items more from text.

TRUST ME, his test are very tricky. You must know all the material to get the correct answers on his test; C and D on test will be "both A and B" and "neither A nor B".

I enjoyed the class. You're rewarded by going to class, paying attention, and taking good notes. 5% of the test questions came from the book and he tells you what section of the book to read. The material he lectures is not difficult to understand but he makes the test questions in such a way that you have to really grasp the material to do well.

I've been in school for 4 years and Dr.Coyle is the most awesome professor I've ever had. He is interesting, happy (always in a good mood), refreshing, and knows how to teach. His lectures will stick in your mind like no others. I would take his class again any day and if he taught more UD classes, I'd definitely be there. Take him!

Dev Psy: Agree with others. Really wants you to understand the material. Lectures are clear and straightforward. Gives good examples. Welcomes questions. Cool guy to chat with. Highly recommended.

Broseph lectures with the clarity of a diamond. Easiest note taking class ever. Test comes straight from the lecture with a couple out of book (not worth reading there's so few). Grades on a curve, and again is unbelievably clear. I would absolutely recommend him.

He's amazing at giving lectures (altho redundant but it's to ensure we got it down). Never read the book. Key is to take great notes. Test was over lecture & 1-2 questions were on the articles. Each test offered a lil EC & he graded on a curve. Incredibly organized & nice. Funny in a geeky way & is a looker!

Professor Coyle's lectures are clear and concise. He repeats himself several times to ensure that you grasp the notes. He gives thorough examples and doesn't move rapidly fast through lecture. He posts an outline on the board which is helpful. Two critical readings which are a breeze. Tests not too hard, he provides a study guide. Great class!

He's a bit overrated. His lectures are excellent in terms of clarity, but they're also mind-numbingly boring. Class is not mandatory. Exams weren't too bad, just make sure you memorize your notes. He's very outgoing and friendly and if it matters, he is pretty handsome too. Out of my three cognitive psych classes, I liked this one the least.

Went to class 45% of the time for exam 1, studied night before exam with my limited notes, was 1 point away from making a B. Only missed class once for exam 2, studied night before exam, made a perfect score. Did the last two critiques, made As on them both. Studied all day, 1 day before the final, even with my limited exam 1 notes. Made an A ;)

The lecture is repetitive but it is done intentionally so that it becomes virtually impossible not to remember the information. Show up to class and pay attention you make the A. Coyle is a really great lecturer - he basically just defines terms and if you memorize them they'll all be on the test and you can pass easily. Dr. Coyle is such a kind and patient man. He reminds me of Mr. Rogers. There are 3 exams and 1 final exam. His class is lecture heavy. I extremely appreciated going over previous exams that way students could see what they did wrong. I also appreciated having the videos be less than 30 mins each that way learning the material doesn't seem dreadful if the videos are more than 30 mins each. I loved that professor Coyle repeated the material to help enforce it for students as well.

Loved his developmental course! Online lectures well-organized, clear, interesting. No fluff, lots of examples with slides. Three midterms and a final, lowest midterm dropped. Exams based mostly on lectures. Enjoyed his course, learned a lot!

Only 4 exams for your grade, but the exams are not proctored and were easy. He puts out 2 lectures a week as this was an asynchronous class. He teaches the material fairly well and provides encouragement when he can. I would recommend this professor if you have acceptable time management.

His class was my favorite of the semester by far. He says that the textbook is necessary, but never really tested much on it. The lectures are easy to follow and he pauses to make sure everyone got what he said. Went up to him after class once and he was very kind and happy to talk.

Lectures are very important to attend because Professor Coyle goes into great detail in class about the discussion. There are only 4 exams (drops the lowest one) and if you take detailed notes in class and use the study guide, then you will do just fine. Attendance is not taken but exams are lecture heavy once again.

Although this course is only graded by exams, it's fairly easy to do well in this course. Anyone who thinks otherwise probably didn't show up to class or listen. Dr. Coyle tells you exactly what to write down in your notes and exams are based on lecture notes. You can purchase the textbook although I never used it and did just fine. Great course.
