Dr. Curley is the best Lit professor I've had. He cares about his students, he's funny, he sings, I've changed around my schedule in the past just so I could take his class. I've had him 3 times

Dr. Curley is an excellent English Professor. He gives out fair grades, and is always entertaining. Any professor, who listens to the Dead Kennedys is great. I want to take him again.

Take anything with him. He is truly a compassionate person. Go to his office, talk to him. He doesn't even mind if you know more about a topic and add to the class discussion. I looked forward to going to his class.

Curley is awesome! He is so nice and loves what he teaches. He is very understanding and REALLY cares about his students. His tests are decent and theres no surprizes.What he lectures is on the test. I'm sad he wont be here next semester, but next year I will definetly be taking his class again. Do yourself a favor and take him!

self-proclaimed "expert on johnson"--absolute fanatic, always good to have prof's who are passionate about what they teach! learned a lot in his class, lots of reading, but he thoroughly goes over them w/ you. recites readings with voices/accents-AWESOME! sweet, caring, understanding, and takes the time to talk to you! At first I was skeptical about the class because it didnt seem very interesting and he was a little creepy. But he was quite entertaining during his lectures. 3 Wicked easy papers, a midterm and final - which he basically preps you for. If you go to Class - You wont Have to read the books!

Prof. Curley is my favorite professor on campus and I recommend him to all English majors. He's really sweet and attentive to his students and is very passionate about what he teaches. Paper, midterm, and final all of which he prepares you very well for. Am taking him again! :)

Curley is such a great teacher! he is the cutest man and always talks about how he loves life. clearly cares about his students and wants them to do well. so friendly whenever you see him on campus, always smiling! very clear in his lectures and prepares you well for the papers and exams. i would recommend him to anyone

One of the most interesting, educated and passionate professors within Bridgewater. I can't even tell you how much I looked forward to attending (yes attending) every class!!! The man makes you want to learn and dig deeper into the material. He's very kind, tolerant and truly appreciates his students. The class was worth every dollar.

I took him over 15 years ago and I still remember his lessons and class as if it were yesterday. He is the most committed/ complete educator that I have ever had. He never missed a class. He even came to a class after he had injured himself prior to coming to class. I think his work ethic has rubbed off on me. I owe him a great deal of gratitude

curley is the nicest most intresting man ever. I was nervous about taking his class becasuse he is an older man. But his class was fun and easy I barely used the textbook expect for writing te one paper he assigned, so I bought Moll Flanders for 4 bucks. Take him! he is the best!

Curley has an intense respect for his students. He is a nationally recognized authority on Samuel Johnson and very knowledgable about the material he teaches. If you need a class he teaches, choose him. He has a somewhat monotone voice, but he is very interesting and funny. He is ending class early this semester so the seniors aren't swamped.

This guy likes to talk. Sometimes, he goes way too fast for you to understand him. He does know his stuff though. Grade is based on midterm exam, final exam, and a 6 page term paper. The exams are pretty tough so you must study. Poems are not my thing but he made it a bit clearer when reading them over. Nice guy though, attendance not required

The guy is an absolute sweetheart. I took Modern British Poetry - I hate poetry, modernism and british lit but this guy was an excellent teacher. I'm practically an expert on a subject I hate which is useless but he's a fair to easy grader. I got an A just by showing up to class, paying attention and reading notes an hour before the exam. Hes funny

If you get the chance to take Curley do it, you wont be disappointed. He is the most genuine, funniest, sweetest old man who cares so much about his students. The work load is manageable and he is a very fair grader. I only wrote one 8-10 pg paper. There is a midterm and a final but if you take notes in class it is very simple!

What is not to love about Professor Curley! He is one of the most caring, fun, and interesting professors I've ever had. He truly cares about his students and tries to make the readings interesting. This class was about literary travels and it was so much fun! You will never regret taking him, especially when he ends class 2 wks early!

Amazing guy! So nice and so helpful, doesn't waste a moment but makes sure everyone fully understands everything. Attendance is mandatory but there is no penalty for missing, I turned in a paper a week late and he didn't take any points off. He's great and extremely intelligent on the subject matter, definitely take him if you can!

He will explain something as many times as you need and he just wants everyone to do well. He cares so much for his students and if you take one of his classes, you will not regret it.

One of the most caring and intelligent professors at BSU. Understanding of each student's situation and is one of the only professors who always reminds his students that WE pay his salary, including that he cannot force students to do anything such as participate. Pay attention and do the work and you will get the grade you earned. Great class!

Professor Curley is the sweetest man. He cares about how you're doing and offers help. He also is the only professor I've had that takes into consideration the fact that you pay his salary, and you have 5 other classes. He wraps his course 2 weeks early. Do the readings and you will be fine. Taking him again in whatever he is offering

He is awesome! I would take him again no questions asked. He allows the students to think for themselves. His lectures are really good too. He adds his own personal stories into things and it's really cute. I would recommend him to anyone!

This guy talks a lot, but hell he is a nice guy. He'll pass handouts to the class so you dont need to buy any text books, which is solid. There are three papers in his Law and Literature class, but he gives topics for you to choose and gives you plenty of resources to help you. 9/10 would take again.

Curley was great. He cares for you. If i could take more classes he was teaching there is no doubt i would be signing up for it. He gives you some of the readings to save money for you. I only bought a few of the books and just looked up the rest on spark notes. He lets you right about anything on the books you were reading at the time.

English 393 Thomas Curley was honestly amazing! He is so friendly and nice to students, very understanding if you paper is late and a very fair grader. If you have questions he has answers!! His lectures are long but as long as you pay attention, take notes you will be okay! Hes honestly an easy class with a great teacher

Curley is a unique professor, I loved his teaching style. He's so funny and can unintentionally be offensive at times but he's old and very sweet so you can't take it to heart. Cares a lot about his students. We had 2 exams and 4 papers which were mildly difficult but if you just show up to class and listen to him you'll be fine. Ended class early!

For English 322: Age of Johnson Professor Thomas Curley is honestly amazing. We had a midterm, term paper, and a final exam. If youd study what he goes over then you will do fine. He lectures a lot but he is extremely intelligent �� and if you have a question he will answer. He is a teCher who wants to see you do well in class and out of class!!

Dr. Curley is the sweetest professor I've ever had. He's so understandable and wicked lenient. The only issue I had were the tests. As an English major, I don't believe in tests; we had two tests and one paper. However, that is his teaching style and I can't critique him for that. He truly wants you to succeed and truly cares about his students.

One of the most respectable professors I've had at BSU. Has an old-school style of teaching where he spends most of the class lecturing - what you do while he speaks is up to you. You have to be willing to pay attention and take lots of notes to do well. Clear assignment and grading criteria. He understands what students expect from professors.

He's a good professor and a very intellectual individual, and he knows what he's talking about, however, he tends to touch students a lot, especially female students, which can be uncomfortable especially when you're trying to listen to him and take notes at the same time. Aside from that, he's a pretty fair grader, is funny, and does his job well!

All you need to do is show up for the class before the tests and the tests. He goes over everything you learned all semester so there's no point of going to class all semester. He's really old school and doesn't use technology and his handwriting is hard to read, but all around good, caring guy.

Curley is a pretty easygoing guy, you just gotta show that you care what he's talking about and put a little effort in the class and he'll love you. three essays throughout the semester that he give you the prompts and due dates for each on in the syllabus. Other than that the only other things that make up your grade are the midterm/final.

Curley is a kind professor who cares about his students. Lectures throughout the semester are dry - I did not pay attention at all and still did fine. Has no attendance policy - only need to go before the midterm and final. Did not buy or read any of the textbooks and he allows you to basically write about whatever you want for the short essays.

Professor Curley is a super sweet guy. His lectures were dry and long and it was hard to pay attention. However, he only had 3 papers, a midterm, and a final. You can get by with minimal reading.

Tom is a very sweet Professor. He makes sure that all of his students understands the material in the best ways possible. Like every professor, however, he has some downsides. His breath kind of smells and he gets so into his lectures that he may touch your shoulder or face for demonstration purposes without asking. Hes awesome though, take him!!

Wicked easy grader - only had about 4 papers which made the class easier to be honest. He may seem like a lot on the 1st day but believe me the class is not hard at all. He is 100% the funniest professor I've ever had and he was super laid back. His class was a nice break from my tough schedule this semester.

Professor Curley is probably the most outstanding subject matter expert of any class I have ever taken. He is a master on the subject of British poetry and a wonderful human being. His lectures are extraordinarily enlightening. I would gladly take another class from Professor Curley. He is a treasure!

Professor Curley is really dedicated to his job and you can tell. Class is so much easier when you have a passionate teacher who cares about students like he does. He gives good feedback on papers and if he critiques you it's always in a constructive and positive way. I would definitely take this class again!

Professor Curley is a bit old-school, but if you engage with his teaching style, you'll learn a lot. The tests are straightforward if you attend classes and review the material. I found unstuck ai helpful for quick practice between classes.
