Hands down best professor I've ever had at UConn. If you don't have DeFranco for Calc II you're honestly screwed because it's hard material but he explains it so well that it automatically makes sense. This man is a calc blessing

Amazing professor. You can tell he really cares about his students and wanted us to do well. He explained everything in such simple terms and detail, making it so much easier to learn. My friends in other lecture sections came because they loved the way he taught. Would not have done well without him. Definitely the best professor for the course.

DeFranco is the absolute best professor I've ever had. Had him a year ago, but to this day I miss having class with him. He genuinely cares about his students and wants them to succeed. His lectures are great and he explains things very thoroughly. He holds review sessions and goes through plentiful practice problems before exams. Such a great guy.

Class is on the easier side as long as you attend lecture and write down notes (usually just solution to practice problems). Also Professor DeFranco is incredibly nice and explains problems in the simplistic way possible. The only problem with this class is the grading for exams is pretty tough but, the exams are not very difficult.

Defranco was a great professor for Calc 2. This class is very difficult, and it's so easy to fall behind. Defranco is great at lecturing and teaching the material though, and he makes it easy to understand the material. Plus he has a Brooklyn accent (I think). 10/10

Hands down my favorite prof ever. I hate math, but he made me want to come to lecture. If he made a mistake in lecture, he wouldn't move on until he corrected himself and we understood it. Always gave us extra review sheets. BEWARE: the final is 20 MC questions, no partial. It is hard, but he doesn't make it. Calc 2 sucks but Defranco is the man

He genuinely cares about his students and wants them to do well. Some tests are harder than others but all in all if you put in the work an A is doable.

Defranco himself is a great teacher. He genuinely cares about his students and that makes his lectures truly exceptional. The one issue with this course is the exam structure. Each midterm is 15 question, no partial credit, multiple choice. The issue is that the questions are always awkward. Rather than doing the problem, it asks about steps.
