Difficult subject matter made easy. Dillon had a flexible grading policy that encouraged students to work outside the classroom on projects and materials that enhanced the experience.

I considered him an IDEAL professor. He explains the topic clearly & makes a comparison. He makes the effort to finish all the chapters inspite of Katrina & Rita. He takes the time to explain materials which are not clear.

Explains material well, he assigns HW, but I think if he didn't I probably wouldn't do HW. I believe I ended up getting an A or B. Overall I would recommend!!!

the textbook is your best friend for this class, because he base the lectures on it, assigned (lots of) homework with it, and use very similar book problems on the tests.overall, good teacher and easy class.

Mr. Dillon is a great professor. I took the 10 week summer session & it was fast paced but he still took time to answer questions & give reviews. Tests are not too hard but you do have to study and do your homework. He knows his stuff and for college algebra he is definitely the one to take.

I would recommend this class and also be prepared to do HW because you get lots and lots of this which helps during exams since some of the Qs comes from the HW.

Professor Dillon was a wonderful Teacher. Math is not my best subject, but his class made it intresting and I actually learned. Professor Dillon is really dedicated to makeing sure his students leave his class, not only with a good grade, but a better apreciation for math.

I think you should let students do some exercises in class. It is more effective than you just say every thing in class. You can let students do some exercises after you show them some examples. Or maybe you let students read the whole chapter at home, and you just teach about the main thing. Therefore, students'll have more time to do exercises.

Professor Dillon is a great instructor however calculus is extremely hard. Professor Dillon does everything he can to help and make sure you succeed...just don't give up and you will pass!

Mr. Dillon is very cool. An excellent teacher who wants you to "get it," someway, somehow..lol. I enjoyed the class, however, his raw testing method was very different for me...no multiple choice questions!! I thought I was going to die. Overall, instruction was good and he is very helpful.

I've had Mr. Dillon for Statistics and Business Calc. I am NOT a math person in the LEAST. Mr. Dillon is extremely enthusiastic about math and cares about his student's understanding of the subject. You might not get his first explanation, but he is more than happy to do what it takes for you to understand. The rest is up to you.

Prof.Dillon is also an engineer so his analytical tendencies come out when he teaches concepts and sometimes he goes off tangent. However, he very much so believes in helping students and definitely know what he's talking about. He doesn't just leave his students out to hang dry.

If you're looking for a challenge, but not a hard ass professor; then you will do well to take his class. His style of teaching is not all friendly, but if you can adapt to it you should do ok. Made a difficult subject seem easy and understandable. Generous in grading. Occasionally what was taught and what was on test was not the same, but the generous grading made up for it.

Great professor! Went out of his way to help students w/ make up exams, fair grader, & treated us with respect! The Homework was the standard coursecompass, & exams did not match homework. We spoke to him about that, & he was receptive & gave reviews that where similar to the exams

Hes a great teacher in all possible ways he was so understanding with my problems that i coudlnt believe it myslef....you can make easy grades but best is to make use of him.... stick to his schedule and ud be blessed..

Very good teacher, I was a little nervous at first about Trig but his teaching style was clear and somewhat simplified the subject. But remember you are in Trig, so he could only do so much. Lenient grader. Does get off schedule from time to time, but it's only to help the students. If he feels the class is not ready for an exam he may postpone it.

He was very informative. I had no idea how I was going to do in this class when it started, but he made it interesting and made sure that the subject matter was explained in such a way that it was easy to understand. I was very pleased with his teaching style and his sincere interest in us really learning the subject matter.

Intelligent and well spoken. Not the easiest professor, but I'm in college to learn. I took him for Statistics and he made it as interesting as one can, which is highly neccessary when you are taking a class at 8 o'clock in the night.

Mr. Dillon follows the book so if you do your homework, this class is extremely easy.

Very helpful professor. He try his hardest to explain a question to make sure you understand, correspondingly, sometimes, slow down the progress of entire class (cannot blame on him). You can choose not to attend classes, but you will missed a lot of materials. Not easy A class, yet he create your interest in Math. RECOMENDED!

MR. D was Heaven sent! I was nervous about math after being out of school for over 20 years but his passion for his teaching made me a better student. I took Finite twice with other profs & was not successful. Im not going to say his class is "easy", but nothing in life is easy. He is a WONDERFUL professor! I must say if you do your work and study for your tests you will do will. The only thing I can say is that the usage of the book is crazy and to be quite honest the book for this class was not that great. Prof. Dillon relies too much on the book so if there is a complaint will be the book. He was helpful to a certain extent. Not an easy A class

I enjoyed Prof. Dillon class. Make sure you do your homework and keep up with him. He uses the book a lot. Maybe the book needs to be changed because I had to use outside sources to learn the material.

He is a great professor. I took him for Finite math this past semester, didn't study as hard as i should of and pulled out with a C. He is very understanding of personal problems and responds to emails quickly and efficiently. Great professor wish he taught pre-calc. Recommended to all students.

Professor is the best teacher around. Always ready to help. A little boring, but math is. Little late to class so that's really cool. Tests are easy, u have to be in class everytime unless u are really smart and know this stuff. Gives points on test for work done even if the answers wrong. :) GOOD PROFESSOR.

Thomas was very encouraging and enthusiastic about his teaching. I really enjoyed his class and I learned a lot from him.

Pros: He enjoys teaching and will truly try to help you with any problem you have until it is solved. This is rare in college. Cons: He uses too many examples on easy stuff and on occasion skipped over vital links to understand a problem. This is common with math professors. Overall, I would recommend him, but you have to work for your grade.

Mr. Dillion is an oustanding teacher who really cares about students. He gives great illustrations and examples to help students understand. I'm not great in math, but understood calculus better than ever under his instruction. You won't regret it- enroll now!

At first I was scared because i heard from my friends that class is very hard, and the teacher you got made this class complicated for students. but this is not true. very helpful, motivate students to learn and make work easier, so students get more interest. i recommend this teacher for sure. he is piece of cake

Math isn't my favorite subject to begin with. I was a bit overwhelmed..my mistake in taking a one day a week 3 hour class which sort of burnt me out. However he explains any problem you don't understand. Overall he is very reasonable. Just be sure to attend class and be consistent with your hw.

Despite the topic being challenging, the professor was able to make it crystal clear and very interesting. Lessons were dynamic and fun. I needed this class as my finance master pre-req. So, no more undergrad math classes for me. If I needed to, I would definetely want Mr. Dillon as my teacher again.

I haven't been in a math class for years, so I was a little behind others in the class. I thought this class was really good. The summer class is harder because you have less time in class and more time out of class. Which if your not self disapplined to sit down and study, it might be harder for you. I took his class in the summer and got an "A" without a book because it's too expensive, although i do recommend it.

This is one of the best professor I've ever seen, he took his time to make sure you understand the material. Extremely helpful, if any student fail his class, they need to check that student out, because you can never pass maths anywhere else. That's how helpful he was, in making sure you get it.

Good teacher kept interest throughout class

He was cool, came in late a lot though, but he works a lot (works in Clear Lake then drives to Stafford for class). I personally found the class dull because I knew the information before hand so I played games on my phone and passed with a B. This was a 10 week course but it felt so long and dragged out because its 5 chapters in 10 weeks.

Really good Professor, as a teacher and in person. Have makes ups for most test and clearly understands your priorities. Had skip one test due to student conference and he let me take a make test. I would totally recommend him for Calculus due to his clearity. His notes are electronic so they are available to student at any time they want it.

i took calculus by Tom. He is a really nice professor. teaching is clear. tests are very easy, gives chance to get some extra credits. but online assignment is hard for some excellent students who want more challenge. I got A+ from him. He relates your material to some carriers, very helpful. High recommend if u plan major in Engineering .

He is very intelligent. He knows what he teaches, which is different from most teachers. He was really eager to teach and tried hard to let students know what he was teaching. It is worthwhile taking his class if a student wants to learn algebra.

Professor Dillon really cares about his students! Being a dual credit student, I was really nervous to start college but he made my experience better. He is an easy teacher who gives you partial credit and makes sure you understand every single step. I finished with an A on the class.I guarantee you will pass if you do his online homework!

Definitely was a hard class if you did not attend his lectures. Some material that was in the final we did not review. The last few rests he did lockdown browser with webcam. Often late to class. Many students kept asking questions when they did not understand the material and towards the end everything felt rushed. Most grades are major exams.
