An amazing professor. He has been so nice to me and his class is so great. He really wants his students to learn and delivers the information in a way that is easy to follow and understandable. I learned a tremendous amount from him.

Very captivating individual. You will learn something from this man. I appreciated every class. Watch out for pop quizzes, and be prepared to write loads of papers. Very challenging and thought-provoking. Was a lot of fun.

I never even thought about a Political Science Major until I took Dr. Dolan's class. I hope I can have him more. He has been very helpful and I have learned more in a half of a semester than I ever did in High School.

Dr. Dolan gives very organized lectures - so it's easy to take coherent notes. He is a realist in the political sense of the word. Don't write any papers advocating the hugging of trees for this man!

dr. d is one of the best professors at c.s.u. and i loved him and his class, it was one of the most interesting classes that i have taken.

Dr. Dolan is one of the most knowledgable professors I have ever had. He made the class interesting and gave thorough lectures. He's one of those professors that you'll remember all of your life. I would recommend him to ANYONE!! You won't regret it!

If you do not like papers, do not take. 2 5-page papers and 1 final with no clue what kind of questions on it. Lectures are fantastic. Will learn a lot about current politics, and will let you make up classes but not an easy A

He's incredibly smart. He cracks jokes about stuff and he's very funny. There aren't many grades so that can make the class hard to pass.

Very good teacher. You have to write papers, especially in Asian Political Thought, we had 3 10 page papers. Very nice and intelligent, I would take him again in a heartbeat. Interesting and NOT as boring as other ratings say he is.

Loved the class. This was my first college class ever and i wasn't intimidated, so i recommend it for freshmen. You will enjoy it if you pay attention. Great dry sense of humor.

i can see why some people might not like him especially freshman he will make fun of you if you say something stupid haha but he is very smart and his classes are challenging i would recommend him for non freshman

One of the TOP 5 instructors on campus. Funny jokes, picks on people (to include me), grow up people. This isn't an "outcome based" University (thank God). DO the work, show up to class and get an "A" like I did. I also got a reference from him to get me in Nursing school. He is the CHAIR of his department, his reccomendation holds weight on campus

Dr. Dolan was a good teacher. He knew the material well and would answer guestions if you had them. The only down side to him was if he asked a question and you answered it wrong he would make you look stupid. So he stopped class participation in discussions.

he is a GREAT TEACHER. never read the book except wen he pointed out things in class. tests and quizes over notes, but if u take them u will pass. if u miss a day get them from s/o else. very funny. would reference south park and carlos mencia to help us understand. does pick on u but in good fun. if u don't like this subject TAKE HIM, he's fun

I was DREADING this class because I do not care about government or politics at all, but Dolan is a great prof! Everyone told me not to take him cause he is horrible, but I 100% disagree! He is funny and does not give tests, just quizzes and 2 five page papers! He is interesting and overall a good guy!

Dr. Dolan was AWESOME. As if I don't already love politics enough, he made me enjoy it so much more. He's probably one of the most knowledgable professors on campus, but he is so down-to-earth in person---just an all-around good guy. Take him before you graduate!!!

I havent finished the class yet, but I am half way into the last month. His class is easy if you dont mind pop quizes..he gives about 4 of them. And he has two 5 page essays...but he grades easy and u can redo them if u got a bad grade...overall the class is fairly easy, but i havent taken the final yet...also, he's pretty funny!

He is a very good teacher, that knows the material. He will embarrass you if you repsond without thought. Must read and, complete the assignments, and come to class prepared.

I like Dr. Dolan's class a lot. He's not the easiest teacher in the world, but this IS college. What else were you expecting? He believes in honest hardwork...not taking the shortcut. His classes are interesting and I was never bored. He knows a lot about politics. If you want to appear smart, you'll take his class and learn from him.

Dr. Dolan is the reason I changed my major to political science. He inspires students to engage the world around them and he challenges students to do better than average.

He really cares about his students. He spells everything out that is expected of you. If you pay attention study your notes you will do fine. 1 final and 5 quizes 2 papers. It really was an enjoyable easy class if you do the work! I think he is great!

Probably the best political science teacher at CSU. 4 unannounced quizes, 1 final, and 2 five page papers. All he does is lecture and writes stuff on the board that will be on the quizes. EASY TEACHER! you should take, the papers are tedious and take time, but he grades liberaly

Dr. Dolan is a great professor. His classes challenge you to think! Read the assigned chapters and come to class prepared. Take part in his discussions. He is also very helpful if you have any probelms with the material.

Before I took Dr. Dolan's course I knew nothing about politics; now that I understand the workings of the government I have become much more interested in political affairs. He engages the students in class discussions, and although his class is fairly difficult, I have recieved more knowledge from it than any class I've had at CSU.

Dr. Dolan is a very smart man and knows his stuff! We had 4 unannounced quizzes, two 5 page papers, and one final exam. On the first paper he allows you to make corrections and re-turn it in for a higher grade. The only thing I did not like was if you tried to answer a question he would correct you while you were trying to answer the question.

Mr. Dolan is an awesome teacher! I recommend him to anybody that has to take a political science class.

Dr. Dolan is a good teacher. I thought I earned a B in the class but I received an A! One test in the class, which is the final, 2 essays and 5 pop quizes. I recommend taking him if you don't like politics because his lectures make it interesting.

BEST American Gov. teacher there is!! He is easy to understand! I love how we actually get to discuss in his class the subject at hand! I don't know my grade yet, but I don't care if I made a D which is impossible but ALL I want to say IS he is a great and easy teacher to follow! Dr. Dolan is an awesome professor! I wasn't really interested in political science prior to this class, but Dr. Dolan makes the subject interesting; class consists of 2 essays, 1 test(final), and quizzes over chapters 1-13(which were taken on-line). I took his class on line. He makes the class very flexible. This was my first online class so I was a little skeptical going into it, but I am really glad that I took it. If you are not good at keeping up with when things are due or you are not a self-starting learner then the class on campus maybe more for you.

this teacher is helpful and goes over the material multiple times. believe me, by the time u leave his class u will know ur civil liberties and civil rights. I would recomend him to anyone. I liked his class and learned a lot. One of the best teachers I have ever had. CHOSE HIM FOR UR CLASS.

take my advice directly! DONT TAKE NOTES. his quizzes are online at home (open book) and you dont use them on the final.participate in lectures & dont sleep or text. whole semester is a breeze except for the final, i bombed it.

I took this class online. The class wasn't hard at all as long as you apply yourself. We did a variety of activities including quizzes, 3 paragraph essays, and discussions. The class is very passable. Be sure to study for quizzes and utilize the hour he gives you to take the quiz. Overall he was a good professor.

Online course. Doesn't take much thinking, as long as you buy the textbook. Make sure you sound off in the weekly discussion postings, and read the chapters before taking the quizzes. Use about 30% of your brain power, and you'll make an A.

Great professor. Very fair, consistent in grading, easy to talk to. I would highly highly recommend him. Im not sure why he isnt the head of the MPA program. Dr. Gill sucks. But Dr. Dolan reminds me of some of the professors from UGA but its rare at the school from what Ive seen

Class was great. A GPA booster! There are 14 25-question quizzes, weekly discussions, a few 3-paragraph essays, and a final. He grades assignments very quickly.

Knowledgeable! Be prepared to read! There are a few 2-3 paragraph essays, a pre and post quiz and about 14 online/open-book quizzes. So long as you do the reading you WILL pass. I'm not one for politics but after this class I became more interested! Seriously an easy A if you do the work!

As a first time student to CSU, my first class was American Govn't with Dr. Dolan. Although, there was a lot to read in some chapters. He gave interesting topics for papers and discussion board posts. He knows his stuff. The quizzes were challenging for me at times. I learned a lot in this online class. I would take him again!

Dr. Dolan is so intelligent, but he can make the information easy to understand for everyone. He has lots of experience and the field and is an awesome teacher. If you have an A, you won't have to take the final. The tests are online and short. You will leave the class smarter and able to discuss the topics of the class with ease. A's if you try!

One of my favorite professors! Grade is based 30% off online quizzes, 30% off essays, 20% off class lecture participation, and 20% off the final exam. Intelligent and enjoys making topics more relatable to keep interest in lectures peaked. Is very generous in terms of extra credit- potentially over 20% added to grade. Over 50% of class got an A/B.
