Grades easy, but doesn't explain things well, gets to caught up in theory
Knows his material, one of the better calc teaches

Great teacher, knows his material. Does this wierd head-bob thing when he talks
Best Math Prof.
Easy curve, good explanations, good lecture, subtle sense of humor
Too monotone and boring. Easier to sleep at home rather than in class
Great lectures, corny sense of humor, easy to learn from.
Odd sense of humor, but great lecturer. Knows subject well and shows it. GREAT!

very easy to understand the material, good prof- would recommend
Very easy/fair grader, extremely clear on expectations, very funny/goofy guy
Gives you what's on test. Hardest thing is staying awake!

Nicknamed Easy-E mad curves on exams make failing an impossibility.
Speaks Michigander, Easy grader, Extra Credit Maple, he passed me
He's cool, and by cool I mean totally sweet
Awesome Prof! Gives you cribs, easy tests. Tangent Planes!
i LOVE this guy! easy. close your eyes and hear jeff goldblum...
Easy to understand, and a fair grader. Highly recommended.
This guy knows what he is talking about and takes plenty of time to let you know what he means. Most cribable class ever. Plus he can bowl an 800 series. That's respect

Very helpful and goes the length to let you know.

very boring lectures, dumbest jokes I ever heard. Teaches strange ways to do things that I had trouble understanding, but understood fine when taught by someone else. Major Curve
Very easy, very cribable
boring lecture, test are pretty easy, very cribable
Boo Boo Elsner was one of the best profs at GMI. His Star Trek jokes are a bit old, but I enjoyed getting him off topic. You will learn in this class if you want to. A nice person and I would take him again in a heartbeat.
Excellent teacher. Will do good only if you want to learn. Lectures are kinda boring but aren't too bad.
Boring, very difficult, hard to understand, worthless in general
he is toooooo great. easy papers. if u listen to him in class u can get over a 95 easily. i got a 100 on hic calc 2 class. knows his stuff better than anybody in school.
Very good teacher. Explains concepts well. Tons of homework help. Extra credit. Great curves. This guy is awesome!
This guy is nice but too old to be teaching. He is hard as hell to understand. Advice, only go to class to get the review sheet. Because his lectures are long, boring, and pointless. You will probably pass, but not with a good understanding of the work.

Explained concepts well. A little monotonous for 8:00AM. Overall a good prof. If you close your eyes it sounds like Jeff Goldblum is teaching you Calculus.
Very easy, ~20% curve, cannot do worse than a 60%(ish) on tests. Very difficult to listen to, stupid jokes and random chuckling will destroy your train of thought!
Good teacher. Fairly easy grader, good with partial credit. Moves slowly through material. No tests only quizzes once a week. Nice guy.
Example problems done during lecture do not represent test material, incessantly chuckles at his bad jokes, hard to follow during lectures, has "office hours" but doesn't answer much during them, ~20% curve doesn't help. Avoid if you can.
This guy sucks. He is boring. He basically reads the book the class. Class average is usually around 80% after the 20% curve. Won't learn the material, easy to pass, but hard to get a descent grade. Picks apart every detail on each test. hard grader.
He would be a great Grandpa.
The chuckling makes u wanna kill yourself. GO TO CLASS though. If I didn't have a smart friend that did, I would've failed. Really helpful. Let me take the first test 2 weeks later than everyone else. Nice guy, but shouldn't be teaching anymore.
This class is easy to pass. If you don't, you suck.
Terrible teacher try to avoid him if you can, boring class and NOTES DO NOT HELP! He gives you a crib before the test, but he ends up changing the test totaly making it even harder!! Nice guy, but bad teacher.
His endless chuckling will make you pull your hair out. He is a very hard grader, but has a nice curve (like 20%). Kind of goofy and occasionally tries to trick you on tests.
Easy prof if you pay attention in class and keep up with the home work, but put you to sleep very quickly in class.
Elsner's a good professor and explains things pretty well. Don't let his partial credit grading policy fool you though -- he's picky and does not mind putting hard problems on tests.
Unless you do homework everyday avoid Elsner, he bores the crap out of you. Spends too much time on the worthless easy examples in class. Also somebody please tell him that math is not humorous.
"Bobblehead Elsner" literally reads the book when lecturing and often gets stalled when trying to answer questions. Spends more time laughing at his own jokes than concentrating on teaching his class about math.
Nice guy, all-around good prof. Quizes are extra credit and tries to make sure you understand everything. Do the HW problems and you should be good.
He's an okay professor, if you go to class and do your homework. Class will put you to sleep, DEFINATELY NOT AN 8AM CLASS. Grades pretty easy, huge curves, but make sure you study, the test questions are way more difficult than the homework and examples.
Had him a long time ago... Very boring but very nice professor.. He curves tremendously so his class is pretty easy.
a very helpful prof, on the day of test, he comes to class early at 7:00 am to classroom and gives you last minute help, very willing to help u, his test samples (cribs) are not identical to the test, but hey at least u get to see how the test is formatted
Easy tests and the best curve ever. They call him 85-Elsner. I don't know if it is because he is 85 years old or becasue only a moron could get less than an 85 in his class. Sometimes hard to stay awake. Pretty decent teaching style. Gives out sample tests that are almost identical to the real thing
Great teacher. Gives you cribs of past tests and tells you what type of problems will be on the test. Will spend lots of time if you have questions on homework. Gives extra credit assignments too.
Easy to follow what he says during lecture, gives you cribs for all the hourly tests and exam. Exam is amazingly hard though so be prepared. Homework is done if/when you want, and he'll spend a lot of the class going over questions. Attendance is about optional, but it is beneficial to go
Good Prof. Keeps the class on it's toes with some of the jokes.
Prof teaches by experience and not by textbook, shows different ways to approach a problem, and makes it very easy to understand thats not mentioned in the book. Gives extra credit through Maple and quizes, tests are take little effort and tests are reasonable, he does not try to fail you. BEST PRF
big curve, final counts 50% of grade if higher than test average, lots of partial credit on tests and extra credit through maple and quizzes. cracks bad jokes often, and laughs at them.
WORST!!! Never learned a thing! Needs to retire. Told class that his "engine" stopped working.
WORST PROFESSOR I'VE EVER HAD!!! Led me to believe that I was a moron.. But what kind of moron would get a 70 in his class and 99 in all their other math classes?
He's a ill prof, mad extra credit(Maple,Quizzes),will help out anytime, even the day of the test. Boring as schitt though, hard to stay awake. but class is opt. if you know what your doing w/ homework dont bother going to class. And he is very cribbable. I mean same test just different numbers. Cake.

Great
elsner explains things well. sometimes too well. you learn everything in the first five minutes and spend the rest of the class bored, literally, to tears. easy tests. easy 90+ if you even remotely understand math.
Made CalcII which was supposed to be very hard pretty darn easy...had it at 8am and still understood everything despite dosing off. VERY good prof
Explains things well, but tells you everything you need to know in the first 10 minutes. Good if you need extra examples, horribly boring otherwise. Tests are fairly easy.
Very clear and helpful professor. I only half paid attention, didn't take notes, and only did the problems on the sample test that he handed out and I have a 102% in the class right now. The sample test basically IS the test.
awesome prof. really easy tests and several chances for extra credit. i would recommend always doing the homework.
Good professor, although a bit boring at times. He does an excellent job at explaining the material and explaining how it is used in the work world. Very easy class if you look over the cribs he gives you.
Prof Elsner is a great teacher. He makes sense of what he's teaching so you understand and can actually learn. Take his class!!
take him if you had calc in high school otherwise he might be too hard he is very boring but if you have ever done integration before you can so just show up four times all term & the final (91wag) there are three tests and a final all weighted the same massive curve that helps your wag For multivariate he is pretty tough. He expects you to learn all of the stuff, attend all of the lectures and keep up with him at 8 in the morning! Not the worst you could get stuck with for this class. In fact a pretty good professor, but he always teaches at 8 or 9 in the morning and never later.
Highly cribbable, highly boring. zzzzz not uncommon among students of this class. If you have a question he will go extra mile for you. Wants to see you succeed.
Very nice guy. Knows the material, but mind numbingly boring. I couldn't stand going to his class. It was PAINFUL. You can learn from him but it is REALLY boring. It's not hard to get a good grade. I owe Anderson one for his help with this class.
Good teacher, easy tests.
I didn't learn a THING! Even when a question was asked this prof wasn't very clear and went off on tangents. Although he may be easy...YOU WON'T LEARN A Thing. he is another one of those profs that are to smart to teach the subject.
Knows his stuff, and cares about his students... He's just so boring. Class is pretty easy, and he will help with anything you need.
Very easy Prof. Explains things very well. Do some homework and do the practice tests and you should do fine. This class was my WAG booster this term I'm pretty sure.
Your relationship with Elsner is love or hate. Mine was love. This guy can be pretty boring by his tone of voice, but if you listen to his words, they're clear as glass. The homework is easy and relevant. He gives you cribs for each test and they're very similar. Think happy thoughts and do the cribs. Grading scheme is VERY easy.
Great Professor. Explains things really well and he really knows his stuff. His test aren't bad and he is a fair grader. Study the practice test and you will do fine.
He is an excellent professor. I had him for Calc II and purposely took him again for Calc III. The rundown (for either class): no homework ever due; 3 tests + final exam; tests have basic problems, nice curves, and are crib-able; extra credit opportunities; no attendance; willing to answer questions and clarify information; actually teaches you!
Easy E is what they call him.
Pretty boring, especially if class is in the morning. He teaches material pretty well until the end, then he doesn't explain things as clearly. Wont hurt if you skip a clas here and there
They don't call him "Easy E" for nothings. You can;t get lower than a 60 on any given test or exam. However he tends to skip around during lecture. He is ok at explaining things if you go to his office hours. Since our class did so bad he is curving our final grade in addition to the exam.
Mr. Elsner is a good educator. At the same time, he does have his standards. If you think that you can get by with not having a clue, then your chances of passing are slim. His generous grading scale would only get you to a ?D? at most as he is kind enough to not drag your GPA to the ground even if you actually deserve an ?F?. No HW, Maple, EC.
Easy E. Kind of boring lectures but he does know what he is talking about. Gives out cribs for the test that are helpful for the real ones. I barely went to class and found it easy to do decent on the tests.
very easy professor if you do the work. i have taken all three math classes with him so far and i wouldn't want anyone else. EASY E
Easy E is great. 60 first test, 95 second, 61 Third (who really gets series?) ended the class with a 74. Studied approximately 12 hrs and it was in the last week. Bad grade was my fault, but Easy E was the man!!! Just study, it's Calc, you need to go over it.
Easy E is easy! Show up to class take notes and you should do just fine. First quiz I got a 70 and the next quiz I got a 95. It's just up to you if you do the work right. He wont give you anything below a 60...you can't fail!
Pretty easy class. Doesn't collect homework, but for Calc 3, it's something that should be done. Even if you don't, you'll still get a passing grade.
Nicknamed Easy E. Don't be deceived, he's not that easy. Do the homework problems he gives out. They're not graded, but you'll be glad you did them. Tests are cribable and easy if you do the homework.
Elsner isn't a bad teacher. He may need some help if he stumbles over himself while working out a problem.
