Easy class if you take notes on lecture, not a mean teacher.
All tests from notes so not very hard, pretty boring though. Not comprehensive.
Can be extremely confusing when lecturing, but tests are note-based
easy teacher, tests are note based, go to class and you'd do fine
Tests are note based. Non comprehensive. Pretty boring at times. Tests are part multiple choice with a large bank to choose from and Fill in the black. You will be tested on the current European map until you pass it.
Very confusing at times. The tests are completely note based but there are also periodic pop quizzes...those are the worst. And don't be surprised if you come across a couple of questions on the test that were never covered.

great professor- tests are from notes, not a boring class- definitely recommend!very helpful and tells stories during lectures...pop quizzes are super easy
keeps class somewhat entertaining, not boring, pop quizes can be a little tricky. Note based test are alright if ya go to class and take notes. overall is a pretty good teacher

AWESOME TEACHER..you will learn.
Excellent teacher...one of the best
Best teacher I ever had.
Good class with a great teacher, especially if you aren't down with the French. Learned a lot from his class. And entertaining for early morning.
Very good teacher, i would recommend for someone to take his class
One of the best Gen Ed classes I've had. Excellent teacher. Makes learning history--which is boring--fun to learn. Tests are incredibly easy if you can take notes and memorize them. Stopped doing pop quizzes. Class is easier and more interesting than AMH.
AWSOME TEACHER. Best i've ever had. He will actually learn your name too. Talks about interesting things as well.
What a classy guy! NO NEED FOR BOOK! If you take good notes spare yourself the $80 and forget the text, test are completely note based. I love his bright colored Tommy shirts!
Dr. Greenhaw is an excellent teacher. Spring 2003 is his last semester teaching before retiring, so if you need a history class take him. He is very intelligent, he knows what he is talking about, which is great because he can answer all your questions.
I learned a lot and this guy is HOT and single.
A truly great lecturer. Analogies are on point and well thought out. Really gives you an understanding of the time period.
i love this professor- i have taken him twice and i would take another class with him anytime. he is an awsome prof-- very smart and knows what he is saying. class is interesting and u'll want to attend. tests are directly off notes and super easy!
Dr. Greenhaw is truely a wonderful professor. His lectures are very well paced and structured. He made history very interesting for me. I can't wait for next semester. Exams are noted-based, class is an easy A.
I was never, ever interested in (or good at) history until I took this course. This guy teaches it very well, and makes it interesting, like telling a story. Tests are completely lecture-based, don't buy the book! Easy A if you go to class!
All he test are based on the lectures. Do not buy the book. He is very nice and understanding also. Overall a wonderful instructor with very clear lectures. If you go to class(he takes attendence), you will make an A.

Dr. Greenhaw is truly an inspirational role model. I actually changed my major becuse of this guy. The lectures arelistening to interesting REAL stories that you can relate to in the modern world. The best teahcer I ever had.
Great teacher, he actually is inspirational. His lectures are like stories and you'll forget that you're in class and actually look forward to going to class to continue the stories. Very funny
Best class I've ever taken. Greenhaw is really a great teacher. He works on the +/- scale, but actually gives A+'s. His tests are kind of simple, he gives you 3-4 essay questions, and you only have to answer 2. Take notes in class
Dr. Greenhaw is the man. Best teacher in the history department. Not because he is easy, but because of how much you learn. Great Guy, dislikes the french.
Best history teacher I have had so far at UCF. His lectures are great. His tests and papers are easy if you attend class regularly. I have had him for English and U.S. military history. Excellent teacher
Really nice man, but very old-fashioned as far as etiquette goes with cell phones and ball caps. He sometimes tells you to study one thing and tests you on another, so study everything. Very willing to help outside of class!
Nice guy. Gives make-ups if you miss a test. Attendance a must b/c he doesn't follow the book. Summer school tests were mult. choice, fill-in, and essay. Tests a little difficult. No drop grades. Pay attention to details. Overall not bad. May take again.
He is a great teacher. If you pay attention in class and take good notes, you could easily get an A without even reading the book.
Light another one up Greenhaw, Greenhaw your the man. BEst class ive ever taken, he also has a great sense of fashion
One of the best history profs I have ever had. If you're interested in Brit Hist, take this class. Great lectures, fair exams. Papers are graded leniently.
He is the best history teacher I have ever had. Dr. Greenhaw actually made the class interesting.
Greenhaw is an awesome teacher, nice and funny. He has a quirky sense of humour and he will make you laugh in the class. Exams are simple and you have to do 3 book reviews. GREAT GUY!! I would recommend anyone to his class.
best teacher in the history department. I actually liked going to class. He makes whatever he teaches interesting
Awesome teacher! He's really layed back because he is planning on retiring soon. No homework and the only essays you have to write are on the tests and there are usually just a few essays during the semester. All aroung nice guy and funny!
His tests are easy because the lectures that he gives are so incredibly great. listen to him and you will get a good grade. he is not boring at all.
No homework only four tests. Be careful, its not as easy as some people make it to be. Tests are fill in the blank, matching, and essay. No muliple choice. He is very nice, must attend class and take good notes.
Excellent professor who has an inclination towards not liking the French, otherwise his class is easy as well as informative. Not much of a challenge but his lectures are interesting.
An amazing professor! He has very interesting lectures so as long as you take good notes and study them, you will get A's on the test. Try not to mess up on one test though, because he does not drop the lowest and final is only worth the same as another test. Best class ive taken at UCF!!
I've had him for a few classes, and he is the best history professor at UCF. You will learn the most and it is easy to get an A if you do what he asks of you. Bravo Greenhaw! God save the queen!
One of the best History Profs at UCF. He's very funny, and extremely smart. He's a Republican, and made comments now and then...but they were always funny (I'm a liberal). His tests are very fair, Essay and IDs. Three per semester. Two short book reviews. Didn't get an A or B...drop out of ucf.

He's got a lot of experience at teaching, and knows the subjects backwards and forwards. You don't need to use a book in any of his classes, and if you sit and listen to his lectures, you'll get all the info you need to get A's on tests. Funny guy, VERY lenient and reasonable, and he lectures well
I've taken him for two Brit. Hist courses. His class is exactly what a college history course should be. Lectures and 3 exams per semester. He is enthusiastic about the subject. Made me love Britain! Francophiles beware! I will miss him when I leave UCF. I have great respect for his teaching style.
By far the best history prof at UCF. Had him for other classes. He's an adorable old man who has hilarious stories and opinions about other countries. Easy to listen to, very interesting, and an all around awesome guy.
He is wonderful! His lectures are interesting and he tests directly from his lectures. You can get by without the textbook, but it reinforces what he lectures. He is a fair grader and very kind man. UCF would not be the same without Dr. Greenhaw, he is that good!
I love Greenhaw, He is nice, funny, sweet, kind..a brilliant professor. Will you marry me?
One of the nicest and most engaging professors I've had at UCF. I actually enjoyed listening to his lectures, and his pace made it easy to take notes. You don't really need a textbook. I'll definitely miss him when I graduate.
I loved this teacher. He makes classes fun and interesting by relating it back to historical events and storytelling. His tests are very easy if you actually pay attention and read.
One of the best professors at UCF. He knows his information very well. I have never liked history, yet I find myself wanting to go to this class. Easy A or B if you take good notes and pay attention. Fair grader. Very sweet man who has the cutest southern accent!
He lets graduating seniors exempt their 3rd (final) exam. Text not necessary if you come to class and take good notes. Brilliant lecturer, fantastic prof. The best at UCF, bar none.
By far the BEST teacher at UCF. He was very clear and was easy to follow. Easiest way to pass is to study your notes. I am not a morning person and had him for 7:30am class. Every morning though, I always looked forward to class. He is interesting and knows his stuff.
Had Herlihy for EUH2000 and what a mistake. Greenhaw is a great teacher! I was very interested in his lectures even though it was 7:30 AM. No need for book. All tests have matching, fill-in-the-blanks and essay. Must know the countries, capitals, and bodies of water in Europe for tests. He dropped the final exam because I had an A average.
I had prof. Greehaw for US military history and Canadian history. He was by far my most favorite professor at UCF. I would have taken more classes with him if he taught more. He has an awesome sense of humor, is very organized and loves to give anicdotes. I actually looked forward to coming to class.
Dr. Greenhaw is a great professor. He's been teaching forever and knows his stuff. He gives very clear notes, and as long as you write them down and study them you'll have an A for sure. Ha also lets you skip the last exam if you have an A in the class. I'm definetly taking this guy for euh 2001.
What an amazing professor! Definately entertaining at 7:30 am! His notes are clear and if you write them down it's easy to study for the tests. KNOW YOUR MAP OF EUROPE AND THE CAPITALS!!!
Took him for both, he is defintly worth waking up early, he is clear, concise, and very often funny. His views are clear, but not hurtful (unless you're french). He is interested in your learning, and success, and not badering you with extra work like essays. Come on time, be curtious, dont wear a hat, and you'll enjoy him.
WOnderful prof. Nice guy who is witty and makes British History interesting. Great guy!
Best professor at UCF! He really is the best. I've had him 3 semesters in a row and am taking him for the next two until he retires! I'm getting up early in the morning to go to his class... something i'd never do for any other teacher. Listen in class, take notes and you'll do fine. I wouldn't take him if your pro-france though... :)
best professor I have had at UCF. Taking him for as many classes as I can. Easy A if you go to class and take notes and you dont have to buy any books
clear and concise lectures. fair grading. no discussion, but entertaining still.
Excellent professor. Lessons are clear and to the point. Assignments are straightforward. Tests are essay but it you study, shouldn't be a problem. One of the best at UCF.
Funny as hell...first day made two old people jokes and a****joke. Recomended! 4 tests, no final, need to know both countrys of europe (from map) and capit. Only problem is getting up that early but its worth it, he keeps you awake.
Easy straightforward class. He lectures every class and then you are tested on it. Don't waste your money on the book! He does take attendance, which sucks for the 7:30 class time but he'll keep you awake the entire time. Your grade is based on 4 tests...very easy A.
overall a good professor.... i definitely had no interest in this subject when i started, but im taking EUH 2001 with him this spring. just go to class and take good notes, he rarely puts questions on the exam that aren't from his notes. excuses you from final exam if you have an a.
Wow... He is great. Lectures are the best of any professor I have ever had. You will have an incredible grasp of the material as long as you attend. Tests are essay, if you pay attention and take good notes in class, you will no doubt get an A. If you dont go to class it will be hard to get a C.
I TOOK HIM FOR BOTH AMH 3541 and AMH 3800. His class is easy and he is sooo funny! Keeps you awake and you'll learn a lot! there's 3 tests and one paper in amh 3541; there's 3 tests and 2-3 papers in amh 3800. I reccomend him- he's the best professor at UCF! oh, and don't bother buying the textbook- we never used nor needed it (he lectures).
Greenhaw is really cool. It was worth taking the class at 7:30 in the morning. I actually enjoyed his lectures. He made a gen-ed history class interesing. He does take attendance though. Tests are reasonable and come straight from his notes, don't need the book. Got an A in the class.
I absolutely love this man! He is so cute in his little polos and he is an amazing and brilliant professor. I completely hate history and i actually look forward to this class. It makes me want to take EUH 2001 just to have him as a teacher! I would recommend him to EVERYONE i know. I will never take another history class without him teaching it.
Greehaw is a good man. Everything from his mouth is 'yes sir'/'yes maam'. Very polite and helpful. Lectures are interesting, however I believe he loses track of the notes he covers. That being said, there are always 1 or 2 questions on the test that will only be answered correctly by true history gurus. All in all, amazing guy and good professor
He seems like a sweet man, and he is but I loved history and found his class rather boring. I didnt like to go, but you need to get the notes from his lectures. 3 tests a 2 book reviews. He is just ok.
He's a great teacher. His test are generally easy, right off his lectures. BTW, he doesn't like to write on the board, he just lectures! I found this is type of note-taking helpful. The book was pretty useless, at most maybe 2-3 questions on the test were from there. Oh, he is old school, so don't talk in his classroom! He will scold you! Take him!
AMAZING teacher I enjoyed every min. of his class, he is very clear and his test are a little tough but not impossible if you take good notes, pay attention and do the readings. I def. recomend taking his class. I would do it all over if I could :)
stupid teacher. took him because of his rating on this website; BOY was i disappointed. still received an A, though. he made stuff up off the top of his head and blabbered on about nothing. his tests were dumb, his class was dumb, and his book was probably dumb (don't know, didn't buy it). easy A but he's not as good as everyone claimed.
This is a really easy class. His lecutures are really informative, but you have to go to all of them or at least get notes from someone. Don't need the book, tests are from lectures. Really nice guy, likes to talk to students, will explain things if you ask. Tests were curved, really easy.
One of the best History teachers on campus, loves to make fun of the French and any other stupid people in history. Class is not difficult go to class take notes study and go take your tests that is it; along with 3 book reports not hard at all.
Extremely easy class, especially if you are a history enthusiast. The majority of this class was World War II, with the last week being Grenada and the Iraq wars. 3 books reviews, extremely easy as long as you follow the outline. There were 3 exams and a final. The first 2 exams I got an A, the 3rd was optional, and the final I was exempt. Awesome!
I took him for Military History 1 and 2, and also for British History 1, and 3, and Canadian History. He is AWESOME! the best hisory professor at UCF by far. Tests are straight from lectures, and he reviews. battle reports or book reviews also. Lectures are very interesting. Well worth getting up at 7:30 AM. Do not need the textbook! Got an A
Very nice guy. 3 tests (essay), 3 book reviews or 1 battle report. Must go to class for notes (Tests are directly from them) Dont be afraid of the essay tests, they are easy. Don't study his "review," just study it all to get a 100%. Book reviews are easy with an outline. I didn't read one book, yet got all A's. Great guy, straight fwd class. Take!
Dr. Greenhaw is a fabulous professor! Always kind and respectful towards his students and oft hilarious to listen to while he lectures. Straightforward and easy class. 3 essay exams and 3 book reviews. Take him he is great!!!
I adore Dr. Greenhaw! He is entertianing to listen to while he lectures and very kind and respectful to his students. 3 essay exams and 2-3 book reviews. Would recommend to anyone.
Dr. Greenhaw is a great professor and great speaker. His tests are a bit tough because they are entirely essays. You will enjoy the lectures and learn a lot in his class but you must study to get an A. The textbook is rather useless.
Fantastic teacher. Go to class, take notes, you'll do well. Really nice guy, respectful towards students, helpful, good sense of humor, really cares about his students. One of the few professors worth getting up early for. Essay exams, but nothing you can't handle if you attend class. One of my favorite professors at UCF and in the History Dept.
Dr. Greenhaw is an excellent professor who has been teaching at UCF for decades. Show up in class and take notes on everything he says, and you may never have to open the textbook at all. If you write slowly like I do, the tests may be challenging; they're all handwritten essays.
Dr. Greenhaw is truly a "Man for all Seasons." He was my British Empire History Professor when I attended Florida Techonological University in 1970-71. He was an outstanding professor then and I am sure he has not changed. If you are looking for a History professor who is passionate about his subject, you will find none more passonate. The BEST !
TAKE HIM! he's such a great speaker, and you will learn a lot. It was easy, you don't need your book, just come to class and take notes. For exams: essay portion, also about 10 fill in the blank. 3 exams and either 10 page battle report or 2 book reviews. Loved this class.
I had Professor Greenhaw as a junior at Appalachian State University in the 1966-67 school year--three quarters of British history. He was by far the best teacher I ever had. He was so good that I couldn't wait until the next class to hear "the rest of the story. The fact that I have searched for his whereabouts this many years later tonight tell
Excellent professor with a wealth of knowledge about his subject material. Class was at 7:30 am, which is a terrible time to be awake, but he made lectures so riveting that I rarely missed. Simple and fair grader and assignments are rather easy. Two tests, half essay and half fill in the blank. Definitely would recommend.
I cannot praise Dr. Greenhaw enough. I took 3 classes with him the previous 2 semesters. The fill in the blanks during tests can be really difficult at times, but the essays are nice and easy. His lectures are amazing, he's always willing to help, and like I said, this professor is practically made of awesome.
Best professor that I have ever had at any point in my education! If at all possible, take as many of his classes as possible!
One of the greatest teachers I've ever had. He is nothing short of brilliant and is a compassionate, understanding and helpful instructor in every fashion. This guy is, as many others have said, the best.
excellent is the only word that can come close to describing him
Best History Professor at UCF. Great speaker and always clear about his expectations!
Dr. Greenhaw is great. He lectures without PowerPoints or notes because he knows the subject material so well. He's full of interesting stories and anecdotes, and it's enjoyable to go to class. He's a fair grader with clear expectations. You'll learn a lot from taking his class, so if you're interested in the subject material, do it!
Straight forward, lectures, tests and writing assignments. You can do a battle report,12-15 pages, or three book reviews, 3-5 pages a piece. Great guy, pay attention to all the stories he tells, you might think some are just cool anecdotes but they will be on the test.
Old Greenhaw is a legend in the history department. His classes are funny, but sometimes can put you to sleep if he starts to ramble. It's important to pay attention because he will put anything that he's talked about on the exam. I fumbled a few tests into c's because of poor attendance. You write book reviews and get to pick your own books.
Dr Greenhaw is a legend at UCF in the history dept. He has been teaching since the 60's at UCF! He is truly on of the best teachers that I ever had. He opened up my eyes to history I loved it before, but love it more now thanks to him.
Dr. Greenhaw is the best professor in the UCF History Department. He is a legend. Take him for any British history course. You'll get much more than your money's worth. I took his classes over a decade ago and still remember, respect, and admire the man. Sense of humor and depth of knowledge are second-to-none.
Greenhaw lived up to his legend status. I absolutely loved his history of England to 1485. He covered lots of fun topics like William the Conquerer, Joan of Arc, and the War of the Roses. His tests were not too bad, though memorizing definitions was a pain as always. His assignments were lenient, and his grading was generous. Overall a TOP prof.
Good ol' Greenhaw, such a gentle soul and friendly professor. Even though his History of England to 1485 class was my only class of the day MoWeFri, it was worth it. He grades easy, gave straightforward assignments, and his tests weren't TOO bad.. though they weren't the easiest. The easy writing assignments helped boost my grade.
Professor Greenhaw is excellent. He is a very tenured professor who knows exactly the best way to run his class. From what I've heard, all of his classes are run the same. Lecture every day except test days, 3-4 tests, a book report kind of project, and that's it. He knows a lot and his pretty funny. Great History professor.
I've had Greenhaw for three courses now (AMH both semesters and British History), and he's my favorite professor at UCF. My only issue is that he's awful with technology, so don't expect anything on Webcourses, but aside from that he's wonderful. He's nice, funny, easy to talk to, lectures very well, grades fairly, and is just a great person overal
Dr. Greenhaw has been teaching at the school for MANY years. He is experienced and won't give you a hard time. His test are pretty direct but throws some curveballs once in a while. Our class consisted of 3 tests (including the Final), all equal in weight and structure, as well as 2 book reviews. Very funny during lectures and a great person too.
Dr. Greenhaw is the standard at UCF. Easy classes for history majors. Grading is fair and only 3 exams with 2 book reviews. Exams based on what he says. Still learning from webcourses but has help so you can get emails and announcements. Does not give extra credit the old fashioned way-his is in form of GPA scores and extra quiz inside exam.
Greenhaw is great. You don't need the txtbook. He gives u a study guide before he covers that section of the material, so you'll know what's going to be important for tests. Just listen and take notes. 3 tests, 2 easy book reviews. Wonderful man. Easy and enjoyable class. You'll def learn something.
Fantastic professor. Fill in the blank tests can be difficult, though. He sometimes uses "fun facts" that you wouldn't have taken notes on in his fill-in-the-blank styled tests. His book reviews are easy A's, and his lectures are enjoyable.
ATTENTION ALL HISTORY MAJORS: Take as many classes with Dr. Greenhaw as you can. Lectures are good. Tests come almost exclusively from lectures. Three tests and two book reviews make up the grade, all weighted equally. Enjoy him while he is still teaching.
Dr. G. is the best of the best. He returned as an adjunct AFTER RETIRING; that says a lot. He is in his 80s so I don't know how long he will be teaching, but take him! Study the worksheets; put effort into the essays; you will pass. Approach his lectures as an opportunity to learn from a once in a lifetime professor and you will be a better person.
Doctor Greenhaw is one of the greatest professors you can ever take at UCF. I have taken practically all of Doctor Greenhaw's classes. I really enjoyed taking his classes and would definitely recommend taking him. He is a caring professor that wants to make sure his students succeed not just in his class but outside of it as well.
My third class with Dr. Greenhaw, that says something. I do believe however his talents would be better utilized teaching other professors at UCF to be up to his standard.
I've taken around 5 classes with Dr. Greenhaw in my time here at the Uni. His classes are relatively easy, only having two book reports and around three tests based on study guides. If you come to class and pay attention you'll pass. Dr. Greenhaw himself is very entertaining and fun to listen to and I've enjoyed every class I've taken with him.
Good guy! His lectures are great and all the information you need for the tests will come from what he says. If you dont pay attention/take notes or miss class, the tests are going to be difficult. Exams were a little tough but otherwise you will learn a lot in his class.
The whole class consisted of listening to him give lectures story-time-style. The only homework we had were three exams and one paper. I never opened the textbook. Personally, this style of teaching worked great for me, but if you prefer activities, quizzes, and powerpoints, proceed with caution.
