Class was easy.Most did not take it seriously, felt like I was in a detention center class or a prison class.I pulled off atleast an A- with not much effort.He is really flexible on due dates.4 papers(10% of your grade each) and 4 quizes(5% ea)both are fairly easy. Don't take his class for granite, listen and take it seriously.Awesome prof though!!

Dr. Henry was one of my favorite professors. I recommend taking this guy. He was funny, told some really awesome stories, and was very fair on his grading. He sits you down and talks to you like a human being and is really respectful. He is very understanding but not a push over. Also, he is very LDS-friendly. I wish he taught 1010.

I found this to be a really good class. You learn alot about writing. Quizzes are open note. You do these online responses about the book. You do writing everyday in class. And, you write some longer papers. Tom is a good professor, because he checks on you constantly. It is obvious that he cares about his students.

the class is not to difficult but you learn a lot. the teacher is a good guy, funny, open minded, and seems to like what he does. he made a website to help his students and it has most of the handouts that you need for class basiccomposition.com. i recommend taking this class.

I usually sleep in my English classes but Prof. Henry did a great job. He kept me awake and is very straight forward about things. When I didn't understand something he explained things really clearly. He didn't make me feel stupid or anything. He was very nice and took his time to explain things.

Great teacher the work load is good you have to write 3 papers and do 10 reading assignments through the semester, and there are daily jurnal's. the only bad thing was im not great at writing papers and he would teach you how to write your paper while you where supposed to be writing it seems backwards to me. teach then write papers...

Great teacher. he really does care about you. in the scond day of class he called me by my name. very helpful. i lost my book that i needed to write my final essay and he gave me 3 days lnoger. you only have to do 2 essays that are 4 pages and 1 that is 3 pages. but HE DOES READ THEM. ALL OF IT!

If you don't take this professor then it's not an English class. This teacher was amazing, he teaches you things no other English professor will teach you here at UVU. He is helpful and gives feedback really fast. wrote 7 papers and he helps you SO MUCH in writing them all. Just do everything he asks for on assignments and you will succeed in class

I LOVED this class, I finally received the education I deserved and needed. This course was comprehensive. It was an easy class to understand. I highly recommend this teacher, he IS the best. If you really want to know how to understand basic composition, this class can help you.

I am glad I took this class when I did. At first I was indifferent. And on the first day of class I still had not found a reason to enjoy the class. But as time went by, I realized that having a good Professor can also change your perceptive towards a subject. And the fact that he believes so much in the ability of his students was great.

prof thomas henry is a great teacher and really made the class fun. he had us write lots of papers, but during class he explains what he would like to see in our papers, and after submitting gives great feedback to help us out in the future. hes a really funny guy and makes class enjoyable as well.

he is literally amazing, I wish he would teach 1010 and further on because If he did I wouldn't switch him for any other professor. He is super funny and he does assign quite a few papers but they are super easy usually about 2-4 pages double spaced which is not bad at all. I was terrified of going back to school and Dr. Thomas made me feel like I was doing a great job even when I was unsure of myself. He gives good feedback, a normal amount of homework. He is patient and caring, I would definitely take his class again and recommend him highly to anyone!

Professor Thomas is amazing and always helping students to pass their classes. He make show that you understand better so you can have a good grade.

The only bad part of him is that he only teaches ENH 1000. I would take all my English classes from this guy. There is no homework besides you go and study on your own the material covered and when you are writing papers, which is not often. The lectures are just AWESOME and you learn a lot of cool computer things that will make your life easier.

I HATE online classes but Dr. Henry made it easy and he even changed the class to help us get through the COVID 19 thing. Lots of reading but it's an English class and the writing was simple enough. He got back to me pretty fast. I felt like a person and not a number in this class. I would def take another class with him even an online one.

He was always making sure his students knew they didn't have to feel overwhelmed, that he was there to help if we needed him. HE ROCKS. I suck at English and he was so helpful! I was worried about this course being 5 credits, but I definitely spent more time on one of my other 3 credit classes. He gives out his phone number and is 100% always down to help you. He is funny and if you do go to class, it is extremely helpful but he won't kill your grade if you don't go.

Any class you see that has professor henry as a teacher needs to be taken. His mentality is to teach kids and have them pass with an A+. He does not give assignments just to grade you. The best English professor. TAKE HIM!!! He knows how to teach and knows what he's doing and isn't harsh on the grading and cracks a few jokes during the lesson, which makes it fun. Not too much homework just stay on top of things, and no textbook is needed.

I would suggest any first semester freshman to take Professor Henry's class. This felt more like an intro to college class rather than an english class. He was very honest and told us straight up what future professors are going to do and how to be ready for it. Very few assignments and I really do not remember doing much homework.

I took him back of fall 2023 he was so easy, I have never liked writing and he made me love it again take him if you want to succeed in English !

The nicest and most energetic English teacher out there. I actually took ENGL2010 but that wasnt an option. His syllabus said there was no late work acceptance but I talked to him and he was very understanding to my situation and waive that rule. His lectures are fun and assignments are easy yet worthwhile.

I really liked the professor and the class. The assignments were very manageable. We did a bunch of writing during class, plus a few papers for homework. The professor gave us his phone number in case we needed anything and was super quick to answer our questions.

I took this online class, and I found it to be quite manageable. I really appreciated how the instructor provided examples of the papers we needed to write, which made the assignments much clearer. He was always transparent about grading criteria and offered detailed, constructive feedback that helped improve my writing skills.

Tom was great! He made it very easy to follow along with the structured coursework.

Mr. Henry was such a good professor. I don't think I've ever had a professor that cared so much about the success of their students as Mr. Henry does. He is very lenient but don't take it for granted. Many assignments are worth 0.5, 1, or 10 points and they all add up to 100 at the end of the semester. I definitely recommend this class.
