I really enjoy this class. Mr. Hilton is a great teacher and kept the intrest in the class. Not an easy class but not a hard class either. Namaste!
Great learning experience...!! A very good approachable person
He is definitely a hard teacher. He is extremely knowledgable but boring. Reads from typed notes to the "T" and his tests are extremely hard. Some extra credit. I would not recommend to anyone except those who are truly extremely interested in Religions or philosphy.... God Speed...
Mr. Hilton is a very knowledgeable professor. His teaching style is lecture and it's hard for a student to get a question answered when he's in the middle of making a point. His tests are long and hard, but if you study the typed lecture notes, learning objectives, terms and possible essay questions, there is no reason you can't get an A.
He used allot of big words but he gave you EVERY question that is on every test. He also gave you tons of chances to boost your grade with extra credit. It does get a little dry toward the middle of the semester but there really is no reason you shouldn't get an A.
Good teacher, very knowledgeable on subject matter. Provides syllabus, printed lecture notes, objectives and vocab - tests cover a LOT of information so studying is definitely necessary. Gives opportunity for extra credit. No papers. No reason not to get an A or B if you attend class and study. Reads lecture notes. Wish more time for discussion.
He's a straightforward as you can get with PHI or REL classes. Most personable professor I've ever had. Very evenhanded and understanding. Always looked forward to attending class.
Hilton is a pretty cool professor. He goes over the material in class so that combined with studying isn't a difficult task. I really dig the course.
Mr. Hilton is one of the best professors at TCC. His passion for what he is teaching is endless, and his knowledge is incredibly expansive. As a matter of fact, he himself is still open to learning and brings new concepts into class often. I am honored to have experienced such an intellectually fulfilling atmosphere of teaching. Thank you.
Summer. Got an A, attendence & book not required. 3 tests which u can do the essay q's 4 each test that adds 5 pts to each exam. Also,u can do a journal 4 the class which adds another 5 pts to Each test. Great teacher & easy class.
this will be one of the realist college classes you will ever take. He is a great teacher but the information is overwhelming because it is all so similiar on the different religions. Three tests and I promise you that you better take the time to do the journal for extra credit cause you will need it. Do not take this class on a full schedule
Mr. Hilton has been teaching for a very long time, and he definitely knows his stuff. All of the tests are taken directly from the notes and he goes over any questions that are asked in class. He's an excellent teacher.
I'm not seeing how this professor has all these good ratings on here..... Maybe it's because I made the mistake of taking this over the summer but although he does provide typed lecture notes and objectives I found tests to be extremely difficult and he's beyond boring to listen to for 2 hrs straight. Avoid him if you can!
No textbook required, hands out typed essay notes. Gives study guide, make sure you study those learning obj. make flashcards and you will get an A. Also practice the essays before the exam and you will do fine. 2nd test is most diff. Got an A in the class, easy but time consuming and he reads exactly from his notes can be boring at times.
I’ve taken two courses with Professor Hilton (Religion and Philosophy) and I can honestly say he is the best professor I’ve ever had the pleasure of being instructed by. The knowledge this man possesses and his ability to take very intellectually deep conceptual ideas and make them incredibly easy to comprehend is unmatched.
very straight forward. 3 test is the only grade in the book. they are fill in the blank and an essay. if you go to class and pay attention then you will pass because he explains everything in great detail. he also hands out packets with all the information on it. i liked his class.
Great class and teacher he gives you notes so he can review them while in class. Study and read over youre handouts and your study guide for the test and you should be fine. Their alot of info but he doesnt rush through it. Open dicussion throughout class which make it more interesting. Learn a lot in this class. Favorite class!
Great teacher. he barley uses the book. Very detailed he explains everything in details. he gives 3 test which are mulitple choice, fill in the blank, and essay. He loves what he teaches and knows his stuff.
He doesnt use a book, but he reads from his notes. Very boring, difficult to listen and pay attention. Not a recommended teacher.
Hilton is THE MAN, no really he is THE MAN. for everyone who has written bad reviews.... you must not be open minded or be in touch with reality. Hilton is so passionate about his work I can feel him vibing from across the room. Sometimes I wonder if he himself is a prophet man. Sometimes I just feel as though I'm baking in his mana.
Mr. Hilton makes this class very easy. He is very to the point. You don't have to have the book; he summarizes all of it for you in his typed notes. He reviews everything in detail. He even gives you the learning obj. for the test. He has made a potentially hard class very easy.
Great professor understand philosophy really gets you into the subject. Never a dull moment. Best learning experience!!! Understand the work easy A. Three test. 24 Journal entry helps on test. No homework. No need for textbook does not use it. I recommend you take him.
Great Teacher. Really nice, laid back, down to earth.
Awesome guy. He's very understanding and laid back. Take his class.
Interesting info but the most boring class I've ever taken. Don't buy the book. He gives you essays he has written to read before class. When you get to class he reads them to you then expects you to go home and read them again. The tests were easy. He is very knowledgeable on the subject but needs to find a new way to present it.
Mr. Hilton is an awesome teacher. This is a very interesting class. You do not need to buy the book for his class.
He has four steps for your success in his class do them it help get you good grade.
Very kind professor. However, if you learn by doing than this is not the professor for you. I learn by doing and sitting in his class listening to him read from the beginning of class to the end did not help me at all. He is a good professor though, besides that. He doesn't call on students unless they feel confident that they know the answer.
Yes, he does lecture the entire class, but be open minded! His philosophy class opened my mind and if you let it, it will to yours as well. Only bad part is the only grades you get are the 3 tests, so study and you'll ace the class like everybody else! DON'T BUYRENT THE BOOK!
Mr. Hilton is an awesome teacher. There is no homework. Its up to you to keep up with obj, vocab., and essays questions on your own which he gives to you at the beginning of each section. You are given all the tools to succeed. You have the opportunity to earn 15 extra credit points that will be applied to your final grade. Super, great, nice :)
Gives you all learning objectives, study and you will pass the tests, easily!! Very passionate about his teachings. Very careful to not offend anyone in class, and also he is easy to listen to. Overall, very good professor!
Three test grades. That's it. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT! It will save you! Super laid back, cool guy. Does a good job of explain things. Study the learning objectives and you'll be straight.
Took philosophy as a requied class and taking philosophy II because his class is awesome 3 test do the journal for extra credit dont need book one of the best teachers I hav3 had to date take his class its really good learned a lot
Dr. Hilton does an excellent job of covering the religions of the world in an unbiased manner. He regularly brings up controversial topics to arouse discussion in the class, while never losing control of those taking part in the conversation. I thoroughly enjoyed his class.
Confusing teacher & lectures. 3 test make up your grade. I didn't understand ANYTHING that he said. I dropped it and took the W. Don't take bc honestly it was a waste of my time.
Excellent professor. He gives you the tools to pass with clear learning objectives, vocabulary words and the process for reading the essays. If you take the steps provided to you, you will pass this class. Very interesting.
Very good proff. There to help and is very encouraging. He is very clear and exams are easy (as long as you study).
3 tests are your only grades. You sit there and listen to him talk the entire class every single day. Easy to pass because he gives you a test review with pretty much all the questions on it. Boring class, but an easy A.
I recommend this class to everybody! Mr Hilton was the best teacher I've had at TCC, if not ever. There are no surprises on the tests, but he will expect you to study hard. It's not easy, but it was truly my favorite class. You will enjoy his lectures! Walked in expecting to learn about philosophers, walked out with lessons I'll carry for life.
Mr. Hilton is the ideal Philosophy teacher. Not only is he intelligent and knowledgable of the subject, he's an experienced teacher. He doesn't mind going out of his way to help a student, and he makes class interesting, riveting, and most importantly fun. There are 3 tests that make up your grade, so make sure to study. If you study you shall pass
This class had opened my mind to an entirely new way o thinking. Coming into the class I had no idea what a philosophy class would hold, but I had no idea what Mr. Hilton would have to offer. His test are challenging but he makes sure that the you know and have everything that is on the test. I would recommend this class to anyone at TCC.
ASTOUNDING PROFESSOR! Professor Hilton really takes the time to explain the reading material. He only gives 3 tests for the semester and everything is directly from the reading material. Read the essays and this class will be a breeze. If you do have questions he is very easy to talk to and gives an in depth answer to any question. wonderful class!
He is a good teacher and knows what he is talking about. He is very sweet and gives students what they need to succeed. Make sure you read the Essays he gives you before class, at least. Very easy class to pass, and interesting.
Mr. Hilton is a great professor! He is always in a good mood, cheerful and motivates students to participate. He invites discussion and really knows how to break down the subject at hand. Very sweet and understanding. I am not very into the subject, but he makes the topic interesting!
Professor Hilton was an awesome teacher. Doesn't require attendance, but strongly suggest attending class to really understand the material and pass test. A lot of reading, but he pretty much hand you the test if you do the study guide. Loved how interesting he made things. Would definitely take another class with him. Great experience.
Living embodiment of a hippie. Class is long and boring, but he tries his best to be funny and make it interesting. Can miss several days and still do well. Was a real pleasure!
The course grade is composed of 3 tests, and 1 extra credit opportunity. Prof. Hilton does not use the book, he gives you several essays written by himself. The lectures are composed of himself simply reading his own essays to you with sentence for sentence elaboration. He moves at an extremely slow pace so personally I found myself impatient.
Professor Hilton overall is a very good teacher. There is no textbook required for his class. Mainly the class consisted of reading off essays and analyzing it. Decent lectures and often cracks jokes every once in awhile.
Boring class.. was a elective.. how the heck do people sir thru such a boring class for 500$ Tests are not what's in the notes.. goes off topic alot reads off paper.
Professor Hilton is one of the best teachers I have had at this institution. The very first lecture class, I was confused, but caught on. There is a lot of reading involved, he posts essays online and review them in lass. Only 3 tests and he tells you what to study for each. It's hard to not get an A. Just do what is expected & you'll pass.
Good professor! 3 tests each worth 33% of your grade and offers extra credit. To study for the tests you only need to use the study guide he provides, reading the entire essays is not necessary, because his questions are nearly identical! Work smarter, not harder! Do the extra credit and use the study guide and it should be an easy A!
Through the semester you will have essays but few tests! Your objectives and you will do great! Do exactly what he says at the beaning of the course in order to be successful, it will show. I really enjoyed his class! He is a hilarious teacher !!! I would take his class again. There is a lot of reading so be sure you go to class.
Professor Hilton is very passionate about Philosophy and lives by the topics in the course he teaches. He wants his students to leave the semester with a better understanding and improved perspective, especially those who are willing to learn. He will tell you the 4 things to do in the course to be completely successful. Do it and it's an easy A.:)
Wow! I feel like everyone should take his class.. I just feel like even a more well rounded person after having took his PHI 101. He is very respectful in his approach of touchy subjects.. he values his student's opinions. Most important of all, he genuinely cares about his students. Take his class!!! Great for the abstract/ open minded.
His lectures are based of off, and read verbatim from , his personally written essays on various philosophical topics. The essays are well written but he does elaborate more in class, for those of us who are not naturally philosophical thinkers. He posts learning objectives with essay topics on BB; they are crucial for passing exams.
Professor Hilton is a sweetheart, but you have to work for your grade. If you attend class, study the learning objectives, and read over the essays, then the tests are generally pretty easy, but if not, you will not pass. You don't need a textbook because he posts his lectures and reads over them in class. If you don't attend, get ready to read.
Changed my life I recommend everyone take his philosophy class 101 and 102 would take him again if I could
Mr. Hilton's class is great if you need a philosophy course like I did. He makes the subject easy to learn and cares about his students. No need to buy a book because he makes his own handouts. If you read them, you will do fine.
While Professor Hilton is a very nice and interesting guy, his class is hard if you are a visual learner. You have to be extremely dedicated to reading to pass. He gives no other assignments, so you are only graded on attendance(barely) and tests. Also he gives a study guide for the first two tests but not the final?
Mr. Hilton is a great professor , if you come to class pay attention read your essays and do the reviews you will do fine . and the cool thing is he does not require you to have a textbook .
Interesting class if Philosophy is something you enjoy learning more about. If you study you can pass all his tests. Fare grader!
PHI101 has honestly changed how I see the world. Professor Hilton is such a kind, enlightened soul. He has so much knowledge in regards to philosophy and religion. If you are genuinely into PHI, you will love this class as much as I did!! Read the essays, pay close attention to what he says in his lectures, and you should do great in his class (:
PHI101 has honestly changed how I see the world. Professor Hilton is such a kind, enlightened soul. He has so much knowledge in regards to philosophy and religion. Read the essays, pay close attention to what he says in his lectures, and you should do great in his class (:
If you participate in his class and read the material you will pass. He is a fun teacher who is very understanding by far one of the best teachers i had while at TCC.
This is an odd class. Very different subject matter than any class you may have had before. 3 tests only, based off of the Professors essays, so no book is required. The teacher encourages open class debate and treats you as a peer. Tests are pretty difficult so read all the material and complete the study guide before the test or else.
I had 4.0 until this class. Nice guy, but worst prof I've had. Only 3 tests and that's your entire grade. Doesn't really teach, just reads essays that he wrote that you are supposed to read before class. SO MUCH info that you COULD be tested on, but you are only tested on about 1/3 of it, so you waste your time studying stuff not on the tests.
Professor Hilton is perhaps the nicest human being you'll ever meet! The way you view yourself and the world will change after you take his class. Make no mistake - this is a HARD class! KEYS TO SUCCESS: READ ESSAYS BEFORE/AFTER CLASS, ANSWER LEARNING OBJECTIVES, DEFINE TERMS, AND PRE-WRITE ANSWERS TO ESSAYS! This requires a ton of self-discipline!
Professor Hilton is such a sweet guy. Really genuine and you can tell he loves teaching. He encourages discussion and never singles out any student if they don't know the answer or don't feel comfortable talking. 3 tests are the only grades for the semester; fill in the blank, essay, MC. Read along with class or hard 2 catch-up. Not an super easy A
You're given the test material through optional daily quizzes. He may make questions on the spot, but most are given to you through "learning objectives." The questions he covers ARE ON THE TESTS. His THREE tests have matching, blanks, MC, and an essay but you get to choose one from 2-3 prompts to write. And he tells you the prompts beforehand.
Professor Hilton is so sweet and funny. He is very knowledgeable and has a passion for what he does. You are only graded for three tests, one of which is an in class essay you write. He gives you study guides of what is on the test so as long as you show up, listen, and study the guides he gives, you should do very well! Also has some extra credit
Professor Hilton is a respectable and amazing professor. He is the type of Professor that cares and takes the time to go over the material that many may not understand. Although Professor Hilton is an easy-going person his tests can be challenging and it takes a special student that is willing to take initiative and his class serious to pass.
The subject matter is interesting, but he only teaches it one way- reading aloud articles that he wrote himself and an oral review "quiz" (ungraded). No textbook, no powerpoint, no discussion, no critical thinking required. I wish he would raise the bar a little because the class has the potential to be good if he just shook things up a bit.
Professor Hilton is great! He really thinks outside of the box when it comes to Philosophy and helps you grasp difficult concepts by relating them to your life. You need to read, though. Your grade is solely based off tests, which come from his lectures and essays he provides you to read. Go to class, ask questions, and read -- you'll be fine :)
Professor Hilton is great. All of the three test questions come from his learning objectives. This class is not an easy A. You have to know his learning objectives and possible essays really well in order to do well in this class.
Professor Hilton is a really sweet guy, but the entire course consists of reading essays he wrote for homework, then him reading them back to us verbatim each class. the ONLY grades are 3 tests. hes passionate about philosophy for sure but the class isnt very interactive.
Professor Hilton was a sweet guy. But his class literally only consist of him reading his essays that he writes. Encourages class discussion, though. There were no other assignments other than the 3 tests he gives. They do come with study guides though. Wouldn't take again... if you're a visual learner this might be a no go for you.
The class is actually incredibly boring. It's just him reading essays, that he wrote, aloud to the class. Each test is based off of four or five essays. GO TO CLASS cause there's a lot of bs in the essay that you don't need to know, but he points out the important stuff.
Love the class real mind opener teacher is great keeps everything simple and is a joy to talk with
Every class is the same: questions to review last class, attendance, then read the essay. He authored ALL readings, so his tests ask for very particular answers. Seemed a bit more difficult than it needed to be, but he is a nice and funny guy. I was able to get through it with an A, just be patient, read the essays, and actually study for tests.
I will definitely take his class again if I need too. As long as you do your part as a student. Mr. Hilton is dedicated to your success. Easy A if you come to his class, listen, participate, and definitely review for the test.
One of the most genuine professors that I have ever had. Has been teaching this class for over 40 years and has all material hand picked in his own essays with very clear study guides. Class is not an easy A by any means because of the difficulty of the content but Mr. Hilton will make sure that you are adequately prepared for his tests.
Never a dull moment in this class. I took his for philosophy 101 ans 102. Everything you need to do well he gives you in his own personal essays. The quizes or questions from the test. He knows exactly what hes talking about when it comes to philosophy and always had the class laughing. I highly recommend him as a philosophy professor.
He's kind of monotone sometimes, but when he gets into the material it's not bad. He's super good human being and I really enjoyed his class.
One of the best Professors I have ever had. Took both of his philosophy classes. You don't need a book. If you listen and read the handouts you will be good. Make sure you do your journal for extra credit. I have since graduated, and I still go back to see professor Hilton, he is my mentor and a great person to go to for advice. Great person
Great guy!
Before taking professor Hilton's class, I was naturally a critical and philosophical thinker. Although this is true, I was not a person who had every studied philosophy nor had I any direction with my outlook. In essence I had a plate of sauce, and Prof. Hilton gave me the meat and potatoes for it. My life is forever changed for the better.
Professor Hilton Is great! My only advice would be to have coffee before class because the lectures can get a little long. No textbook required! Be sure to study because the test questions come directly from the study guide!
Professor Hilton, what can I say about the man? Empathetic, cares about his students and enjoys his subject. Very easy going and easy to understand. It is easy to tell he has been teaching for awhile. He writes his own content and makes sure to ask everyone if they have questions or if he is being understood. Does his best to engage everyone.
Professor Hilton is thourough throughout the entirety of his course. He presents the material in a clear way. His lectures are intriguing and he provides his students with feedback on their progress every class session. The class consists of lectures from his essays and about 4-5 tests on these. Adequate study guides and preparation are available.
I attended Prof. Hilton's Philosophy 101 & 102 courses; this was maybe the most fulfilling class you can take on campus (either one!). A wide range of philosophical inquiry is cover through a small number of essays (small and great reads). The class left you with a sense of wonder and interest in a number of topics you cannot help but to explore.
Tom H. is an alright professor do not take his jokes literally or you will never truly understand the guy. He gives great feedback but sometimes puts you down in the dumps for no reason. Try hard READ and you will be fine !
Amazing teacher! he cares for your success and does what he can to help you, the information is interesting and with his great passion for teaching he makes class more enjoyable, highly recommend him!
A very engaging professor, he's always happy to make sure each student is up to speed on the lecture. Pop quizzes are given each class, and as long as you are paying attention, you're set. Would certainly recommend!
Professor Hilton really knows what hes talking about, he explain the subject matter really well and give great examples and metaphors to explain key words or phrases that may seem confusing at first. The only type of homework assignment is a reading assignment which helps you clear things up before the lectures. Great professor, really cool dude!
Amazing professor, truly cares about his students and is very passionate about Philosophy!
There are no surprises in Professor Hilton's class you know where you stand at all times and the material presented is quality and delivery is clear.
Must have access to printer (or laptop) bc he gives long essay's to print and bring to class to follow along (and highlight). Four tests make up your grade. Extra credit given if you keep up with journal. Journal is a log of what you found interesting in class. I didn't enjoy philosophy but Hilton is kind and caring and wants you to do your best!
He is a good professor, he knows what hes talking about. But during lectures, he reads essays that you have to print out yourself. Gives quizzes from what was gone over last class, not graded though. He talks a little too slow for me, but study for the test really good and youll pass.
If you want a class that is easy to understand and flows, you will like this class. He compressed the textbook into a series of essays he wrote so students can understand the subject better. There are three tests on the essays, just study them and listen to Professor Hilton and you can get an A.
Professor Hilton is an amazing professor! In class he goes over his lectures and gives us study questions for each test. I enjoyed his class and his style of teaching!! No textbook is required for his class; therefore, his essays he wrote himself and have all the information you need for the test. Great teacher!!!!!
His textbook are essays he personally edits and corrects. He has a Learning objectives for each which correlate to test questions. Those are what youre graded on and he goes over the material to make sure its clear and understood in class. If you read the essays and do the Learning objectives youll pass. One of my favorite professors/classes.
Awesome professor, he's very understanding with students. He makes his own reading material so he knows his stuff. He will try to make sure every student passes his class but you have to show up of course.
I don't see why you wouldn't take him. He's sweet. He actually cares for his students and what they have to say. He has patience, loves an honest discussion, gives little homework, and is the kindest professor I've ever had. Now that the semester is over, I'll definitely miss the guy.
Very helpful and considerate professor. Teafhes well
Professor Hilton is very knowledgeable and enjoys teaching Philosophy. He provides essays (that you will need to print out) that are read and discussed in class. No textbooks required. He also provides learning objectives with each essay that if you answer and practice the written essays you will pass the tests easily.
Mr. Hilton is an outstanding teacher and is unmatched in his field. The class is stimulating for the mind but in no way is it challenging, in fact he doesn't' force you to pay attention or participate. BUT if you pay attention to his lectures, they force you to challenge your everyday assumptions, and ask yourself why you believe the things you.
He is very knowledgable in his subject area and has streamlined the textbook material in shorter, more concise and clear essays that he provides for his students. He gives feedback every lecture. If you review the work at home after classes and study over the course of the semester you will be fine. If you procrastinate, you may have difficulties.
Great teacher, loves his subject. Helped me a lot and would recommend.
Professor Hilton is an amazing professor. It's clear he has love for and deep understanding of Philosophy. He is committed to the success of his students. No textbook. Essays will be posted for you to print out. He provides learning objectives. If you answer them, you will pass each test no problem. Extra credit chances. Highly recommended! Easy A!
Thomas Hilton truly has a passion for philosophy and is very knowledgeable. He cares a lot about his students and making sure they understand the material. He does not use a text book. Answer all the LO questions and study them to get a good grade on your tests. He also handled the transition to online classes for to the virus very well.
He withdrew me from the class wrongfully when I turned in my work not only on time but when he asked me to resubmit to be re-enrolled I submitted multiple times and he still withdrew me. I even completed a 2nd Test that he released even though he withdrew me, I couldnt see anything in canvas such as due date, or Learning objectives. Not good.
Not recommended for online classes. No recorded lectures for makeup viewing. Graded on only two tests, so easy to miss a couple Qs and take a large hit on final grade. Test is open essay but can be vaguely worded at times. Textbook is just his own essays. Class participation important.
This guy probably an amazing teacher back in the day. Way back in the day. Those days are gone. Long gone. Unfortunately, he cannot grasp what it takes to teach. Philosophy and religion professors are always a bit disorganized, but this guy is too far gone. I want to be respectful. However, if you take this course you will probably fail. !WARNING!
Professor Hilton is by far one of the sweetest teachers I've had during my time at community college! He is very easy-going and just wants the best for his students. The only homework the class had was questionnaires that line up with his essays where you can word-for-word find the answers, and only 3 open-book tests that line up with the essays.
Scratch a textbook, he gives his own material with everything you'll need. Makes it super easy to understand, he just wants you to learn! Pay attention, you'll get an A. Keep an open mind and participate and you'll have fun. He's a cool guy who cares about his students. I loved the class. You won't regret this, I promise. Vulcan salute him!!
Professor Hilton is a great teacher second class that I've taken by him only 3 open book tests that can be knocked out in a hour or two.
Extremely knowledgeable and clearly spoken professor. He is also very nice. The only thing that is kind of interesting is his tests and quizes are based only on his written word, so if you do not get it exactly the way he said it, its wrong. no textbook, just his essays he writes.
I feel like this class was a mess. Professor Hilton gave great lectures and tried to get everyone to participate since it was an early morning class. However, his quizzes are the most difficult and it stressed my classmates out. His tests are the only reason my grade went up but there is only three of them. Not very tech savvy but he does his best.
Very funny and relatable, makes class entertaining and educational
The professor is a mess. I took the seven week course that he was absent for half of. HE messes up the zooms that he does make or teaches the wrong class. But then still expects you to take and pass tests on essays he himself wrote. During the class he spends the majority of the time either bashing religion or bashing "RED TRIBE" conservatives.
Time to retire Hilton! Professor HIlton is uneducated in technology which is not ok with him teaching zoom classes. on several occasions students would join zoom, wait 30+ minutes and he was a no show. He wouldn't share his screen to show notes/powerpoints. We are expected to watch/listen to him talk for 90 minutes.
Since the first day of class, every assignment said missing. So you have no idea when anything is actually due. It took 5 weeks just for him to figure out how to use zoom and provide a working code. For the entire class he talks slow and lethargic for 90 minutes, does all he notes on paper and writes his own test which are impossible to understand
He's a great professor but he's very chatty and expects all cameras to be on when in class. He also talks very slowly so it's hard to keep focus.
Professor Hilton Is a bit older so he isn't the most tech savvy. However, with that being said he is very open in communication and if there was ever a grade or zoom issue he would fix it right away. I saw reviews that said if you weren't listening during zoom, the test/quizzes were very hard. That is college! If you take notes its an easy A!
The best professor I have had. This course was life changing. He is fair, gives you everything you need to make an A. No textbook needed. Extra credit is available.
The professor is very nice, and is very passionate about teaching. I will definitely take another class with him. Is an easy A grade. The only thing that I would say , is that he does not answer emails, and the study material is not helpful for the test. You will definitely need to read, and understands his "essays"
Professor Hilton is passionate but tech-challenged. Lectures can drag, but the open-book tests are straightforward. unstuck study proved useful for efficient study prep.
While kind,he is so technologically challenged it aggrivates me. He constantly accidentally makes the quizes due in 2026 rather than 2025. This would often cause confusion in the class. He also think people can see the paper he puts in front of the camera rather than screenshare. The most stressfull day was the final exam due to his many mistakes.
He's the best damn professor you could ask for. hit a jackpot picking him.
Professor Hilton' Philosophy class has been my favorite I've taken so far. He is kind and very knowledgeable. He provides his own essays instead of a text book, so there's no additional cost for the course. Extra credit opportunities on each test and the quizzes are short and easy.
