Take STAT200 with this man, especially online or over the winter/summer. He's very helpful and the class is ridiculously easy.

Its the easy class you will ever take at UD. Toke him for both stat608 and stat200. Getting an A in both classes.

Took this class online because everyone said it was easy. I mean, for a stat class it was. I'm just happy I got a B...I suck at math! 4 exams. 12 quizzes. 16 short assignments. All the work is annoying, but the way he grades helps you in the long run and he gives you weeks at a time to get it done. Willing to help, just not good with email.

Take his class online. His tests and quizes are online and is flexible on due dates. Easy A.

He's really nice and got into the survey the class was creating. The only difficult things are the test (which isn't that bad if you study) and the two analyses (which are long but he grades leniently). All in all, really easy class with pretty minimal work.

Very simple class- take it online. Lectures are incredibly boring and the assignments are often tedious, but the tests and quizzes aren't bad at all.

TAKE IT TAKE IT TAKE IT ONLINE! Seriously can't stress it enough. I'm not a math star so I was worried about it, but it's an easy A or B. Four tests all online, twelve assignments and eight quizzes. If math's not your thing, TAKE IT WITH ILVENTO ONLINE! Highly recommend.

Honestly, one of the best professors at UD. I took the course online and he's such a good professor. He's really good at communicating with students. He cares about his students. The material is difficult if you have no previous exposure. But he uses examples applicable to his students. Take him for Group D breadth. He's the best.

Fabulous professor! Definitely take this course online. I found the course challenging, but manageable. If you study the material like he says--lectures, assignments, quizzes, you will do well on the exams. He wants the students to do well and he will help you. He responds to email quickly. This course helped me overcome my fear of statistics.

TAKE THIS CLASS ONLINE! Ilvento is such a sweet guy and is always helpful when you email him about questions! The lectures online can be slightly long, but not hard and pretty interesting! 2 guided exercises (answers online), 2 assignments, and 2 quizzes due the day of each exam (there are 4). Not hard to do well!

Great class and professor, took the in class portion tho most work is still completed on line. tests are straight forward from what you learn,

Took this class online. 4 exams each worth 16 points. 8 assignments each for 2 points, 11 guided exercises and 8 quizzes both each for 1 point. Easiest class you'll ever take at UD. Just listen to lectures, do the guided exercise and you'll do just fine. To give you an idea of how easy it was, class average on all exams was about 90%.

Very good online class and not too difficult as long as you do the work. There are a few assignments and online quizzes for each of the four sections that end with one exam each. None of the exams are cumulative and as long as you put in the time to watch the lectures and take good notes on them you should be fine.

Great online professor. Gives amazing feedback and wants you to succeed. Dont buy the book. The only reason I bought it was because he said the homework would come from the textbook, but all the assignments were on canvas (waste of $80).

Ilvento is a great prof! This class had a lot of material to cover but wasn't overwhelming. make sure you space out the lectures and not wait until the very last minute because the lectures are kind of long. There are hw assignments, guided exercises, quizzes and exams. If you pay attention and take notes, the class is straight forward.

Took stat608 as an online class. Never met the professor but he has been very nice in emails. Counts for a tech elective and an honors class for me and it is extremely easy. Exams are taken online wherever you want to take it, and he gives you Excel documents that do all the math in the problems for you. Would recommend.

100% take the online class if you can. all the assignments are due on the same day and he gives you like 3 weeks to do them, even lets you take some of them twice. exams arent bad especially if you take them with a few people. very pass-able with minimal work

Dr. Ilvento's class was online and super easy. The class is divided into 4 sections, each with 2 quizzes, 2 guided exercises, 2 assignments, and an exam. You have about 3-4 weeks for every section and once exams are online, you can take them any time within a 3 day window. The class was an easy A. Definitely take Ilvento for STAT200

Buy the textbook and you won't have to watch his lectures (they're long and rather repetitive, and also through Powerpoint which is annoying). Other than that, the course is pretty straightforward. Take it online and you can put off work till the week before it's due and get by fine.

One of the best professors for stat!! If you need to take stat200, I would highly recommend ilvento! Gives you more than enough time to complete assignments and is always available for help/questions!

This class is really easy definitely recommend for STAT200. 4 exams and other busy work that he gives you along time to do.

It is one of the better designed asynchronous classes and the professor makes himself available for any questions.

Take him! This class is fully asynchronous but he has taught it this way years before COVID so it is a very organized asynchronous class. STAT in general is very difficult but I think he is the best professor to take for it.

I took Dr. Ilvento's version of STAT200 asynchronously & found the course to be manageable and the work was not that difficult although if you put it off it will definitely seem that way. The course will be easier for those who took AP Stats &/or IB Math Studies in high school but everything is explained for those with no background in statistics.

Dr. Ilvento was an AMAZING prof. He really cared about the success of his students and tried to do everything in his power to make sure we understood the content. I took this class over winter session, and even with the short timeframe, the class was not hard to manage at all. Definitely recommend Dr. Ilvento if you have to take a stat class!

Ilvento has taught STAT200 asynchronously for several years, so adjusting to COVID was not a problem. The class is organized and he allows several weeks to watch lectures and do assignments. Some assignments have 2 attempts. Kind professor but can be difficult if you've never take statistics before. Answers questions promptly.

I expected this summer class to be a breeze based on reviews but it was tough. The material is easy to grasp once you know it, but it requires a lot of listening to lectures and studying. Dr. Ilvento is very clear and kind, and was accommodating when I was having issues. It's a great stat course, but don't take if you expect an easy A.

Totally Asynchronous course, wasn't too bad, although I feel his lectures are a couple years old which isn't really a bad thing. If you procrastinate on due dates you're gonna get hammered with 6+ assignments and an exam due on the same day, so don't do that. Pretty easy course, but you still gotta put the time in.

I took STAT200 during winter session and he made the layout so easy to understand and gave ample time to complete assignments. He is willing to work with you and provides extensions when necessary. Overall a great prof and I would not take this class with anyone else

Ilvento was by far one of the best professors I have ever had. He truly wants his students to succeed. The assignments, guided exercises, and quizzes all prepare you for the exams. He always gets back to emails within the same day and is willing to meet on zoom almost everyday to go over questions or practice problems. Ive learned so much!

Professor Ilvento was so caring and super accessible outside of class. He will go over anything in full detail until you understand it. He walks through everything with you and gives you tons of resources to understand the material. Easy exams and homework.

Professor Ilvento is great. Really cares about his students, is accessible outside of class, and will give you all the resources you need to succeed. Course is made up of 4 exams, 4 mini assignments, and 4 mini quizzes. Seems like a lot, but the course is more than manageable and very organized overall. Would definitely recommend him

Such a nice guy who wants his students to succeed. Gives excel sheets that have formulas that make assignments so much easier. Assignments and tests do take a lot of time but there are not many of them. I highly recommend taking him and it seemed a lot easier than people who took stat in person.

Dr. Ilvento is the best! The class is super organized, he is always available for office hours, and as long as you know how to type info into excel (which he can help you with), you will succeed! All of his assignments/exams are on Canvas and he gives you so much time to complete them, so that is also a plus. Def recommend his class.

Prof Ilvento is a great guy, but if you are not the best at time management, take this class in person w another prof!!! This class was hard to do well in due to the fact that all assignments were worth 1.5 points or less and the exams were worth the full amount.

Professor Ilvento did an incredible job putting together this course! I'm TERRIBLE at math but he made it so much easier to understand. His quizzes, assignments, and exams are all very reasonable. He genuinely cared about how his students were doing in his class and was always willing to meet via zoom to help. Best stats professor at UD!

hes such a nice guy and really cares about his students. there weren't a lot of assignments and everything could be finished in a day but your grade is mostly dependent on the tests. there wasn't extra credit but he gave so many free points and curved the tests. i would totally take him again!

Prof. Ilvento's STAT 608 class was an excellent introductory/refresher statistics class. His lectures were thorough and clear. Prof. Ilvento gives a suggested schedule which is a perfect guide to completing the lectures, assignments, and tests in time. He answers emails promptly and is always available to meet via zoom.

Ilvento seems like a very kind guy. He gives plenty of time to take exams and quizzes, but the content is so boring and difficult. That being said I didn't buy his textbook and relied solely on the Canvas content.

Async class but once you understand how the canvas works, it's pretty solidly organized. Assignments due when the exam is due. Multiple days to do exam. Follow his schedule. Allows/encourages excel which is really helpful but IMO, it led us to being too dependent on it without understanding the material. Lectures can be boring. Gives extensions tho

This was a very easy course. There are a few homework assignment and quizzes each week that count for most of your grade. They take a lot of time to complete, but graded easy. He also offers office hours frequently even though this is an online course.

Dr. Ilvento is very passionate about stat and makes it a very straight forward class. He provides excel templates to do calculations and provides answers to assignments to check your work. Gives plenty of time to complete assignments (usually 2-3 weeks). Highly recommend taking online!

Great Professor for STAT200! Lectures are easy to follow and Excel sheets to find the answers are provided by him so you have to do less work.

This class is completely online, and he gives a calendar of recommended due dates for assignments, but you can work at your own pace as long as all assignments for the section are in by the test day. There are a ton of lectures and they can take a while, but the assignments aren't that bad and he is great at answering questions on Canvas

dr ilvento is a great prof tbh, he's always available and outlines the course perfectly in the syllabus. it was online and do at your own pace but he provides structure with plenty of time to complete the assignments. the class was an as you expected difficulty but dr ilvento is always willing to further explain topics and/or excel

I took this class online. I like how the course is organised because it makes it very easy to follow along and keep track of assignments. I didn't personally like how he only posted one unit at a time, I wish everything was posted at once because I could have completed the whole course way in advance which would have been nice.

STAT200 online is an easy class. Exams are 72% of the grade, but Ilvento gives you excel sheets to plug the given information into and they spit out all the answers you need. The true/false questions are a pain though. The class teaches you *about* stats but not really how to do anything. I went to his office hours a couple times, he's a nice guy!

Class was exam heavy, but he gives you tons of excel sheets to plug data into. I didn't read every single lecture and was still able to get an A. As long as you have a basic understanding of the concepts from the lectures and know how to plug numbers into excel, you should do fine in this class. Also made himself very available outside of class.

Literally one of the best professors I have had at UD. I personally think there is no way you can do bad in his class as long as you turn in the assignments on time. I wish he taught all math courses at UD

Ilvento is very helpful if you need anything, and the course work is usually easy. He gives two weeks for you to work on everything, which is plenty of time.

Professor Ilvento is a great Professor that genuinely wants his students to succeed. His course is separated into four parts each due at four check points through out the semester. Tests are weighted heavily!

I took the asynch stat class with him, and he's great. It's a few lectures that are not too long each week with a short quiz, guided assignment (he gives u work and the answers to work through it), and a graded assignment. There are 4 exams and no final. The exams are mostly what you are graded on. He is a great teacher.

Although this class was online, you could tell he cares about his students success and gave a clear syllabus. As long as you do the assignments on time, you will do perfectly fine in this class.

Dr. Ilvento was a great professor. I naturally have a hard time learning stuff in an asynchronous class but he did a great job making himself available to assist me when needed.

His class is broken up into four sections (assignments are due once a month). I think if you actually try his class isn't terrible. A good grade is easily achievable, especially since the course was online.

Pretty easy asynchronous class, I wish there were more assignments though. Doesn't curve grades or does extra credit, either.
