WTF?! Old man Jackman busted my hump everyday I came to class. I only had him for 6 weeks,
Dr. Jackman is very helpful and excellent at explaining Organic Chemistry. He is very nice too....
well maybe that's your problem. btw, maybe this person was thinking of dr. jackson, who's much worse than jackman. Jackman can be a little intimidating but he's a great chem teacher.
Jackman is the best teacher for students who don't like chemistry or find the subject a challenge. Hes the best!!!!
At first I was so intimadated by him, but he proved to be a great professor. He is willing to help you out with any questions you may have, just visit him during office hours or when is doing a lab. He went through all of my labs before the final, and I ended up with an "A". Great professor!
There are rarely any teachers who are willing to help their students as Dr Jackman does. He is ALWAYS willing to help students, and always does so in an un-condescending manner. He is the best Chemistry teacher!!!!!!
I enjoyed taking lab with him. I wish i took him for lecture because he explains everything clearly.
Jackman is a great teacher. He's really smart and nice. He does a great job at explaining everything thoroughly in lecture as well as lab. He's one of the most helpful professors around. He'll even help students who aren't in his classes.
great teacher too bad he's not going to teach lab in the spring

Dr. Jackman is a great professor. I suck at chemistry and hadnt taken it in 4 years but he makes it so easy to undertand i did great in the class. He explains fully and gives problems just how theyre set up on the test so you know what to expect. A tad imtimidating at first but very friendly and willing to help you out with questions anytime.
I took Jackman for chem1 and 2 - my only complaint is why doesn't he teach O chem and physics??? its not fair!!!! Take Jackman if you want to understand chemistry - hes the man!
AWESOME!!! Chemistry made easy!!! and who could complain about 85 as an A?!?!He will set you up for greatness in other classes! LOVE HIM!!! want him to teach everything!!!
He is a great professor. He is always willing to help you and you can't find a lot of professors willing to put aside what they are doing to help. Great teacher.
He is by far my favorite teacher here because he is so nice and very clear. I would definitely recommend him for Chemistry.
An awesome instructor. Makes things easier to understand. I would've definitely had him for Chem 2 if I had to take it!
He is amazing at lecture. He explains things so well. His homework takes a lot longer than it seems - so start early! His tests are very difficult so you should study EVERY NIGHT, no joke. Also, he is wonderful at office hours.. if you need help he is ALWAYS there to help and he emphasizes this with candy =p
AWESOME TEACHER!! Explains everything so well, there's no way you can fail this class. He keeps it interesting and is always there if you need help! Take him if at all possible!
Great teacher
Hes not bad. def. not harder than other lab professors, but you do have to know what your doing to get an a. very nice guy, hes always willing to help.
He's the BEST option for Chemistry professors! He is really willing to help out and work with you as much as you need. He actually makes lectures fun!
Jackman is cool he makes chem easy. his examples definaetly make it easier to understand. i mean i hate chem so i would never love to thake the class but i mean im definatly not failing im doing decent. if you dont understand he will help you if you hate chem and have to take, take jackman!
Dr. Jackman is an amazing Chemistry teacher! He is an amazing person and teaches everything very clearly. If you need help he will go out of his way for you. If you aren't good at Chem he is the best professor to take. He is good at what he does.
Since it was a gen chem class, it was easy already but he made it easier by using visual aids to make it so much easier. If you don't like to show up for lectures or not study, this will be a waste of 3 credits unless you're a freaking genius in chem.
Dr. Jackman is the best chemistry professor I've ever had. He makes the material so much easier to understand and is always willing to help. If you are going to take chemistry, definitely take Jackman!
He's a great teacher! Very good at explaining and he gives lots of handouts, practice, etc.
I had Dr.Jackman for both CHE152 and CHE154. He is an awesome professor and really great if you're new to chemistry. His explanations make things so easy to understand and his tests are okay if you do the homework and attend lectures. He also has extra office hours for the few days before a test.
Most amazing teacher ever. The beginning of my first semester I didn't got to his office ours and did ok but after go to his office hours my grades greatly improved. Go see him if u need help hes so helpful and nice.
Awesome Chemistry teacher. Explains things in such a simple way and does not make chemistry seem like rocket science. He gives plenty of examples in class and lots of study guides for the test. DO ALL of questions on the study guide. It really helps!! Highly recommend :)
Great Chemistry professor! Always explains things thoroughly and helps to clarify. makes sure everyone is in the same page before he continues.I recommend him for chemistry!
Awesome professor. Gives plenty of examples and handouts. really helpful. gives extra office hours a couple of days before the exam. real nice guy
AWESOME TEACHER. By far the best chemistry teacher you can get at UT. Very nice guy, gives extra help whenever you need it! Offers extended office hours before tests (even on saturdays), gives study guides and plenty of problems to practice & study. Very helpful. His explanations make it so easy to understand chem. Highly suggest taking Jackman!!
Really nice teacher. A lot of homework to do, but if you do them ALL its an easy A. Every problem in the homeworks go in the exam.
He is an awesome teacher for Analytical Chemistry Lab. He takes his time to make sure you understand what he wants from the lab and how to do the lab effectively.
Best teacher at ut. Explains everything super clearly and gives a lot of examples and practice materials. loved him !
Prof Jackman is amazing! Got an A because of him! He teaches so well, the notes are straight forward and he's always willing to help! Only problem, he doesn't teach ochem or physics :(
He's very intimidating at first and I'm nervous to go to office hours because I am so lost. The homework problems are not like the exams which make them very difficult.
Dr. Jackman is an amazing professor, he really tries to get you to understand everything. He does problems on the board and explains everything very clearly. Tests are difficult but they are straightforward, so if you study you will do well. Offers office hours and always tries to help. Overall a great teacher, highly recommend him for chemistry.
Jackman is a light-hearted, easy-going professor. He is great at explaining so if you don't understand something at first make sure to ask questions. He loves his granddaughter Ruby and will use her name in examples. Sit as close to the front of the room as possible and make sure to take advantage of all the practice problems and packets he gives.
He is an amazing chemistry teacher. Dr. Jackman is so good at explaining things to make it easy to remember for the test. He is a great guy and always cracks jokes. I personally hate chemistry but he definitely made it more bearable! Take him, he is by far the best Chem 2 teacher at UT.
Analytical is a tough class as it is. Jackman makes it very do-able. TAKE HIS CLASS!
He does a very good job explaining material
Amazing teacher , one of the best
Jackman is easily the best chemistry professor I've had at UT. I had him for Chem 1 & 2. Chemistry is hard but he does his best to give great examples in his lectures. He is always cracking jokes and is very relatable. GO TO OFFICE HOURS. He will sit with you and go through literally EVERY practice problem. He makes it very easy to pass the class.
Jackman was the best professor I have ever had at UT. Once a student of his always a student of his. He loves what he does and he has so many office hours where he will work every single problem you ask. His homework is just like his study sheets and he DOES NOT use mastering chemistry! Take Jackman.
If you need to take chemistry DO NOT take it at UT. YOU WILL FAIL. I was in Jackman's office hours EVERYDAY and still had to end up withdrawing from the course. There are 4 test and the final is a statewide final. The ACS to be exact. There is no extra credit and he doesn't care to help you pass. He will claim to care but really doesn't! Good Luck
Dr. Jackman is the greatest. Had him for lab, makes it almost impossible to not pass unless you don't do the labs. Fair grader, but will go over all parts of the lab if you need to to help you understand. Understands that life happens, will help you if you forget materials, to turn in a lab, or if you mess up on your lab. If you can, take his lab!!
Although I didn't get the best grade in his class, I really did love this prof. I didn't ever attend office hours but I know that he stressed that you absolutley SHOULD. He made lectures fly by, made sense and was very easy to understand, was very open to questions. The only thing is DO NOT USE YOUR PHONE. Also, I found the book very helpful.
Dr. Jackman is really such a great professor. He is very understanding even if he has to explain a concept to you 6 times. Very flexible office hours, open door policy. His tests aren't too bad either as long as you study, they don't have that many conceptual questions and are pretty straightforward, he doesn't try to trick you on them.
Hands down the greatest science professor I've ever had the opportunity to take! If you have the chance to take your general chemistry courses with him, do it! I wish he would teach courses in organic chem and analytical chem because he truly cares for his students to the point where he holds office hours on the weekends for his students!
Professor Jackman is probably my favorite professor I've met so far at UT. He is available every day of the week to meet and makes chem feel easy. One of the nicest professors I've had too! Only a few homework assignments, 4 tests, and a final, so be sure you go to every class. Take advantage of office hours and ask questions, he always helps!
He explained the concepts very well in class. Lots of office hours. He is super helpful as long as you are willing to put in the work.
Jackman is a nice guy but takes class pretty seriously. Class is test heavy so definitely study a lot because the tests are pretty difficult but every Chemistry class is typically. Would not suggest missing class. Homeworks are not too bad. He has a lot of office hours as well. Take him for Lab too if you can. If I could take him again I would.
Jackman is always so excited for class. He lectures most of the time but does allow questions which was nice. Exams are fair, and he has lots of office hours for help the weekend before the exams.
The best professor Ive had a UT. I struggled in chem I with a different professor and almost failed the class, but with Dr. Jackman in chem II, everything finally clicked. His numerous study sheets and homework sheets (both optional and for a grade) gave me something to study and ask questions about. Definitely take advantage of his office hours.
Dr. Jackman is really a gem. Definitely one of the best professors I've ever had at The University of Tampa! His lectures set you up for success. He is super accessible out of class because he has a lot of office hours and even comes in the weekend before an exam. Do all the extra problems he assigns, go over lecture problems, and do your homework!
Dr. Jackman is one of my favorite professors at UT. He is so caring and always willing to sit down and help you during his office hours. Being someone that genuinely struggles with chemistry, he has helped me tremendously in grasping each concept in a way that is understandable to me. I would HIGHLY recommend taking him for chemistry if you can!!
One word-AMAZING. Take the class with him if you can. One of the best professors at UT. He cares about his students, is very accessible during office hours and through email and genuinely CARES. His class is test heavy, so make sure you go to every class, but if you do, you don't need to buy the textbook. Even gives you study sheets before tests.
Did not the best in his class but that was on my part mostly. He is a great professor. Extremely smart and knowledgable. He breaks down every step so that it's easy to understand.
Dr. Jackman is so nice and passionate about chemistry but my biggest advisory is If you are a working student or plan on being a working student don't take him. He posts homework 4-5 days before it is due, his office hours aren't always the easiest to get to and trust me, you're going to want to go to them. Other than that he's great
Jackman is my favorite professor that I've had at the University. If you show up to lab and participate, there is no way you will get a bad grade. He always has office hours. He wants students to succeed and is willing to work with you. He's an amazing professor. I have learned so much from him and wish I would've taken him for lecture!
One of the best professors I have ever had. He is an amazing professor. Everything he teaches is extremely clear and easy to understand, even if you don't like or understand chem. He is also really caring and wants you to succeed but he won't give you a free A. You always have to work for your grade. But if you put in the work you'll do fine.
Dr. Jackman is very good at making chemistry easy to understand. Homework is easy and not given very often. This class does require a lot of studying if you want to do well, but with the study sheets, notes, and chapter problems given, you can get an A. Highly recommend taking him!
Overall great guy, he seems like he would be really tough but actually really wants you to learn the material. I hated chem but he made me understand it. Highly recomend taking him.
Professor Jackman is one of the nicest professors I had here. He throughly goes through each lecture question in class to make sure you understand. He has lots of office hours and is always willing to help. His tests and homework were never too hard either. Highly recommend taking him he is so sweet!!
Literally the best chemistry prof ive ever had. He wants you to learn and to understand and doesnt do anything to trip you up. Expectations are clear, youll be fine for his tests if you do the study sheets. Overall a great person, prof, SUPER accessible for zoom office hours and loves to help! TAKE HIM if you can.
Jackman is a great professor. I had a lot of technical difficulties during my final, but he reassured me and helped me out when I was stressed. He is big on showing your work for credit which I think all online chem professors should do so you know what you're doing is correct.
Jackman is amazing!!! I had him for both gen chem I and II. he is super helpful and wants everyone to do well. He makes study sheets so you can practice working through problems.
The perfect chem professor. Very organized and efficient. Communicates clearly and doesnt overload students with new material or work. Very slow paced and comfortable. I actually enjoy chemistry now because of him :)
Professor Jackman is absolutely incredible. If you struggle with Chemistry he is your man. He has office hours all the time and even if they aren't official, his open-door policy allows for a lot of help outside of lectures. He explains things so well and is very helpful. Don't be afraid to tell him you don't understand. He will help you!!
I think he is the best chem professor at UT, however his class is still difficult and he tends to go pretty fast during his lectures
I withdrew from chem last year and was scared to take it again. Dr Jackman is an amazing teacher, we do tons of problems in class and he is available for office hours. If you do all the study sheets he gives you, you will pass. I have never gotten an A on a chem exam before his class. No chem class is going to be easy but he does his best to help.
Dr. Jackman is an amazing professor and truly knows how to teach the material. He makes understanding chem so easy. Def attend class bc his lectures r extremely helpful. He gives study sheets that are so useful and is always having study hours. He truly wants all of his students to succeed. I already registered w him for next semester! He isGreat
Great Professor, I would definitely recommend him and take him. The material is difficult, but that's chemistry. Homework isn't done through the textbook but I would definitely recommend it. It was easier to understand the textbook's way of working problems sometimes. It's a huge lecture so make sure you get there early and can see the board.
I absolutely loved professor Jackman. I have never had a professor who cared so much about his students. He has open door office hours and before every test he help office hours on the weekends. The material can be difficult during certain chapters but he is always able to clear it up
He does not take attendance but to understand the content you need to go to class. There is a lot of material covered and he moves fast during lectures so you have to be paying attention to the entire class. He calls exams parties. He is good at explaining content and provides many resources on blackboard. Homework is all online, one hw a chap.
Dr. Jackman is very passionate about what he teaches and clear when he teaches. Chemistry can be a hard subject, and Dr. Jackman did a very good job at explaining the concepts and giving plenty of examples. He has several office hours regularly and extra office hours the weekend before an exam. If you struggle with chemistry, definitely take him!
Professor Jackman is nice, he is very flexible and is willing to teach you during his office hours. Lectures sometimes don't make much sense but if you really study and go over your notes, you'll do just fine.
Overall not a bad teacher by many means, he communicates the material well, and has relatively easy tests compared to the by-chapter online homework. However I did find myself struggling to stay awake in class as he can be a tad monotonous.
Dr. Jackman is by far one of the best professors I've ever had. His lectures are understandable, tests are very straight forward and are similar to what you do in class and in homework. He's realistic with you, funny, will do anything to make sure you succeed, he really cares. He posts study sheets and recommended problems in the textbook.
Tests are easy all you have to do is study and you will do fine. little homework, no extra credit but amazing study material. I had an A until the final which brought me down to a B otherwise. Very difficult to fail his class
Prof Jackman is the literal goat. One hw assignment every chapter, and it is super helpful and practice problems just like the notes. He writes every process out very meticulously so that you'll always understand during lecture. His tests arent bad, you just have to study. The study sheets are your key to success in chem 2. Always do them & ur good
Lectures are incredibly boring but he's extremely helpful during office hours. Study assignments will be your best friend when studying for exams. No need to buy the book. Wasted my money first semester and never even opened it. Only grades in Blackboard the whole semester were exams. One homework assignment per chapter. No quizzes.
If you're bad at chemistry, he's your guy. Overall not my favorite but you can definitely reach him outside of class and he is more than willing to help you. You print out his practice questions but have to take your own notes. Tests are similar to his practice questions and he uploads study sheets which help a lot.
Absolutely love Dr. Jackman, he made it clear with his expectations of everyone. He works through each type of problem that will be on each exam. I enjoyed going to class each day, and his lectures kept me interested the entire time. The lecture isn't mandatory but do go! The textbook isn't required but is recommended. The online platform not used.
Dr. Jackman is one of the best professors I've had. He cares about his students and will do anything for them to succeed. If you want to do good in the class you will have to put the work in so you do good on the exams since the grade book is made up of five exams and around 8 homework sheets. I can not recommend him enough to people take him!!!
Dr. Jackman is by far the best chem professor. His class can be difficult if you don't apply yourself, but if you do the study sheets for each chapter, you will be fine. He is also very available and helpful during office hours. I could spend hours just talking to him in his office. Highly recommend if you are willing to put in the effort.
Dr. Jackman is an extremely good chem professor who challenges you, but also is willing to help you if you just ask. His office hours are very helpful as he is super approachable. There are 5 exams (including the final) all weighted the same and you can drop your lowest exam score. If you have to take chem definitely take him!
Dr. Jackman is THE MAN for chem lectures. If you're worried that you can't do chemistry but its required for your degree, TAKE HIM. He is so clear in his explanations and lectures. He teaches you a process for solving chemistry problems, and you can master it with his practice problems. Show up to class and apply yourself and you will do great.
Dr Jackman is my overall favorite professor at UT. he is the most helpful professor I have ever had in any course ever.He takes his time to get to know each student if you reach out for help. He is always in his office for office hours, and takes his own time to help on weekends before exams. I cannot say enough good things. He made me love chem!
LOVE HIM! he is the sweetest and a really good prof. He truly cares for his students success. He makes you buy the book online but I never used it and all homework was on paper. Overall I would take him again. Good luck getting him though:)
Dr. Jackman is by far the best professor I've ever had at UT. He explains chem in a way that is very easy to understand. I promise if you go to class and pay attention it's so easy. Attendance isn't mandatory, he gives homework for every chapter that must be turned in in person. He's always available to help any student that needs it.
Dr Jackman cares about each and every one of his students. Anyone you ask will agree that he is the best gen chem 1 and gen chem 2 professor in the whole department. Take advantage of his office hours! Don't get me wrong chemestey is hard ut his exams are fair and I've never received an exam and been surprised with what's on it.
Great professor. He makes everything easy to understand, breaks down tough concepts, and is super helpful during office hours. Dr. Jackman is really personable and makes lectures interesting. He really makes Chem 2 easy. Exams are mostly multiple choice and make up pretty much all of your grade. Weekly homework that takes around an hour. Take him.
TAKE DR.J! I took him for both chem 1 and 2 and got an A and then an AB! He's so helpful in office hours and genuinely cares about his students. He gives a study sheet and practice problems before every exam and there's one homework sheet per chapter. He teaches old-school style which everyone seems to like and makes chemistry easy to understand.
Take him if you can!!!! He is most easiest Professor on campus. His exams are not hard if you practise the study sheets he gives you every chapter, I'll do good on his exam.
I definitely recommend taking Professor Jackman for chemistry if you can!! There are 4 exams, a final, and homework for each chapter. He also puts out study sheets online to help prepare for exams, which are not difficult at all if you follow along with the lecture notes and pay attention. He always has plenty of office hours to reach him.
Dr. Jackman is the best chem professor at UT. Please take him!! He will post study guides and help students even outside his office hours. The homework might seem annoying but trust me they help for the exams. I switched from Werner and this was the best decision ever!
LOVE Dr. Jackman. He was so caring and wanted to connect with you personally. The content was difficult but he is an amazing teacher. Highly recommend.
He is by far one of the best professors I have taken this far in all of my college academics. If you want to learn but not sweat over if you are going to pass or not this is the professor to take. He is fair, and very well respected by the students. Listen to the lectures and do the practice problems. You will be fine as long as you do the work.
Dr. Jackman is THE BEST chemistry professor here at UT. He makes every lecture digestible and provides many examples to help you complete work. I know many people say chemistry is hard, but Dr. Jackman made it understandable. He is very nice and I cannot recommend him enough! I wish he taught other science classes!
He was great! The class was difficult but manageable if you just put effort in. He taught the material in a way that was easier for his students to understand. He is very much accessible out of class and goes above and beyond to help his students. if you do his study guides then you'll do good on the tests. Couldn't recommend him more!
Professor Jackman is a gem! His old-school teaching style and genuine care for students make chem easy to grasp. unstuck study and practice exams were super helpful too.
He is the best! If you are going to take anyone, please take him. 100% the best prof for chemistry.
I think he's very funny and a diva. He's a good teacher however I don't think he provides enough material for us to learn. Also, ur grade is based only on exams. Like 5% of ur grade is homework. The rest of ur grade is just based on exams which I don't really like. I prefer a broader grading system.
Dr. Jackman is my favorite professor at UT hands down. He cares about all of his students a lot. He has an open door policy so if he's in his office you can go and ask questions at any time. Class is based on 4 exams and final at the end. But it you do well on the four exams you'll be fine. Homework occasionally but counts for very little.TAKE HIM!
Dr. Jackman is without a doubt the best professor at UT! I am horrible at chemistry, and this is the first chemistry professor to explain everything super well and makes it easier. He cares about his students and is always there for you. If you can take him! Such a great person all around.
