WONDERFUL CLASS!! He rocks!! So fun/nice/easy/interesting. He is very understanding, very lenient, very clear. Easy to stay focused because he keeps it interesting. He is very straightforward with the material.
his first test is excessively hard finals easy but isnt worth as many points, you need to do well on the first test to get an a
Dr. Karam's class is excessively boring. Watch out for that first test! It is extremely hard but getting a 95% on the final is a no-brainer. I was really close to an A and he bumped me up. Just watch that first midterm test.
Dr. Karam is one fun & interesting man. He designed 3410 & it's easy to see how much he loves it. Great teacher, great class!
Had him for MKT 3401 and he is a great teacher! You need to attend class to make a good grade though. Tests are short answers and you have one project that you're sure to get an A on. Take him!
Don't let people fool you, the final isn't as easy as you would think. It may have been easy in the past, but it's sort of tough now. Definitely not an easy A especially if you don't do well on the first exam, which the average before the curve was a 60. He curves ~20pts on the first exam, but don't depend on that.
Horrible teacher. Makes up his own curriculum that is nothing close to any Marketing book. Very self obsessed. Have taken other marketing classes in my graduate work and his undergrad class was no help.
SIMPLY; The best teacher I have ever had. His class pertains to life so much that if your major didn't matter, all you would need is this class. FAIR, Intelligent, Curves like crazy, and very sincere. I should have gotten a D and he gave me a C. TAKE THIS CLASS. Stop reading what i have to say and register already.
I took this class summer intersession of 2013. He was an amazing teacher. Listen and take notes. All this examples are the test questions. He does seem to ramble but everything is fair game. I recorded his lectures, which helped. He is BEYOND reasonable. Trying will get you an A. SIGN UP FOR HIS CLASS ASAP! Great course and awesome teacher!
Class isn't mandatory; it's more recommended. He drops test questions in the lecture. My one piece of advice is don't be fooled by him. He says the test is "fluffy," but make sure to study hard and really know the notes. If you study, you'll make an A. And don't worry too much about the presentation. He gives you an A no matter what.
His exam was straight from the notes. It is a good idea to attend class because there is no book, just his notes to rely on and he'll throw in examples that he stated in class on the exam that you will only get if you were there. Also, read the Wall Street Journal for the exam.
Karam is awesome! He's funny and extremely lenient. He actualy WANTS you to make an A in his class and will try his best. There is a midterm, a final, and a presentation. Everyone is GUARANTEED an A on the presentation. There are also in class writings every once in a while but those are easy. Don't underestimate his tests though!
Dr Karam is easily one if the best professors I've had at LSU. You have a 1 minute speech, a 1 page summary of your speech, a 10 minute group presentation, and a test. The presentations aren't hard and he is very kind in his feedback so don't let those scare you out of taking this class. You'll enjoy this class and take a lot away from it.
Great professor! There for his students & the class was very insightful. He does tend to ramble in his lectures but it's all relevant info. I didn't attend class often & still got a B. The first test is hard but he'll probably curve. The final was easy though. The presentation was easy also he'll give your group an A regardless. Definitely take him
Karam is by far the best teacher on campus. He is funny and entertaining. His tests might be difficult if you dont go to class and the "book" is a $15 journal with WSJ articles. Tests are basic memorization on easy and interesting stuff. He garantees an A on the presentation that you have to speak on for 1 minute. Take him!
Awesome teacher and very interesting! His lectures aren't terrible to attend, he uses his in class examples on the tests so take notes on them as he speaks. He doesn't use powerpoint or posts notes, so as he talks write what he says and write what he writes down!! The group presentation isn't bad at all, he gives good feedback, but study for tests!
He was a good teacher. His lectures can be boring. He doesn't use technology. You can find his notes online, but he does random extra credit days. Also he gives you an A on your presentation no matter what.
Dr. Karam is awesome, and made the hour and a half class bearable. Two tests, in class writings, 5 marketing research experiments, and a group presentation. Tests are easy, he lets you make up the in class writings if you miss, and a lot of the experiments are offered online and only take like 10 mins, guaranteed A on presentstion. TAKE HIM!
He doesn't use PowerPoints or any kind of note taking system. He just talks randomly and gets off track A LOT. His mid term was a lot harder than he lead on. One group project but as long as you show up you get an A. It's not as intimidating as he makes it out to be. Just have to pay attention in lectures (as much as you can).
He is a GREAT teacher! He is super laid back in class and lets you know that the class isnt that bad at all. He is going to give everybody an A on your presentation so dont stress about it because he makes you feel very comfortable. I will say the first test was hard but the final was super easy just find the study guides & test banks online.
Very engaging lectures, tests are a little challenging. So worth the trouble tho!
Karam is awesome! His tests can be somewhat challenging, but if you study and know the material you are guaranteed to get an A in this class. Class is not mandatory, but he makes the lectures interesting and fun to listen to. Great class, great professor!
Best teacher ever. His lectures are amazing and his group presentation is the best final ever just don't stress it.
Karam knows his stuff. Great guy and pretty funny. Only 2 exams and 1 presentation. First exam is really hard and the second one is much easier. Do not stress about the presentation. He gives everyone an A and he will remind you of that all the time. Would recommend this class, but don't think this is an easy A. You will need to study
My opinion of Karam changed as the semester went on. At first, I loved him. He's genuinely funny. Lectures are full of interesting stories and examples. Then I took his first exam. Failed it (and I'm a 4.0 student). Write down his examples! There's no material on Moodle. Second test was easier and presentation was an A. He rounded me up to an A-.
Really liked him in the beginning of the semester. This is not an "easy A" class. The first test was terrible (16 point curve). The second test, though easier, was still hard (2 point curve). You'll get an A on the presentation no matter what, but i swear he just gives random A's regardless to how you did. It's definitely doable, just not "easy"
Tommy is very good at what he does. Very funny and interesting lectures. No homework. Class isn't mandatory but you'll need to go to class and take notes on everything because he doesn't post anything on Moodle and tests are completely based on lectures. Tests are tricky but there's a final presentation that he gives everyone an A on.
You must study for first test. You must go to class, take notes on the material AND THE EXAMPLES. that is crucial. There are no notes on moodle or anything like that so just go to class and pay attention. He is interesting, and a great guy, but everyone fails the first test. Second is easier. and the project is intimidating, but everyone gets an A.
He's a good professor, he talks a lot and tells stories but anything on the test is repeated multiple times so you know to write it down. Only two test. Study for them he says they're easy but not really, he does give a big curve. Final is a presentation, automatic A on it. Don't worry about it, its easy. "textbook" is a $15 book of WSJ articles.
This class is all lecture, no notes, no PPT, nothing. You have to show up and take notes to pass. The lectures themselves are alright, you won't get too bored. Because of the lack of notes, this class lacks structure. I didn't know what to study sometimes if I missed a class. Also be sure to write down examples, they make up 90% of the test.
I don't understand how some people enjoyed his lectures, I found them really boring mainly because he doesn't post any material that I can follow along with. The first test was hard af, I almost felt like I studied the wrong material. If you can endure 90 min of lecture and take notes on every example he gives, then this is the class for you.
Two tests on information solely from his lectures(& a few articles), but he's an amazing lecturer and knows how to keep it interesting. Write down EVERYthing he says, even his stories. The first test is difficult, but he curved my section's well. The final is easy! There's a presentation he is very particular about, but you get an automatic A.
Dr. Karam's lectures are interesting and he is very passionate about marketing. Great, hilarious guy. He has 2 tests that come straight from his lectures and the "textbook." This "textbook" is a $15 collection of wall street journal articles. He assigns a huge group presentation, but everyone gets an A on it. If you attend class you will get an A.
His first test was hard. I studied for around 10 hours for it and got a 66. Everyone told me he would have a big curve; the curve was 6 points. I attended nearly every class and still did bad. I got a B overall but the class was not easy.
He is never organize. You need to be able to know every every everything he says. His presentations suck
Tommy Karam is one of the greatest professors I have encountered at LSU. Thoroughly cares about his students, and wants them to succeed. Loved listening to his lectures, and I learned so much!! Must go to class. No slides or notes. Everything on the exams are verbatim in class. Take notes on all examples too, they will show up on the exam.
Best Professor EVER! Made me fall in love with marketing! I will say his tests are a little difficult but the life experience and wisdom you will gain from this man is SO worth it! He's also really good for the internship! He's great to go to for business advice as well.
Great professor! No powerpoints or anything, just lecture, but they're usually hilarious and easy to pay attention to. Make sure you write down every example he uses!!! I can't stress that enough. The first test is harder than you'll expect it to be, but just make sure you make note of the examples he uses in class. Overall a solid professor!
Course is entirely lecture based (you MUST take notes during lectures) except for the 4-6 articles you will read in the WSJ that appear on exam. I didn't buy the book. Two exams (midterm/final). Midterm is significantly harder than the final. Everyone WILL get an A on the group project. 3-30 min sessions of research surveys required. NO homework.
Amazing teacher! He completely designed the course himself and he shows how knowledgeable and passionate he is through the lectures. We had three major grades - an individual presentation, a group presentation, and a final. If he tells you tried, he gives you an A. He'll try and shake you up during your presentations, so be aware of that.
Hands down one of the best professors at LSU. He kept me interested throughout the whole 1 hr and 20 mins. Even though attendance is not mandatory, I would suggest you go since he doesn't put his lectures on Moodle. No textbook, just get the WSJ which is $15.
The exams are WAY harder than you think going in, questions are tricky and very specific. The group project is an automatic A and the in class writings are easy points, so go to class! HE curved extremely little for the first exam and did NOT curve the final. Karam is a caring guy with good humor and is passionate about marketing, but not easy.
Don't underestimate the exams! If you study they're not that bad. The presentation is an easy A. Attendance is not required but its better to go, and lectures aren't that bad. If you have to take this class, TAKE KARAM. This will be the best and easiest professor.
Karam is a great guy with a huge personality. The two presentations are pretty easy A's, but the final is rough. I went to class everyday and took notes, but still did not do well on the final. The final is 40% of your grade and all essay questions, but it is graded somewhat harshly. Overall, Karam is a good guy and does care about you.
This class was a little trickier than expected, but still easy enough to get at least a B. VERY important to go to the study sessions where he goes through the study guides AND rly remember what is going on in the articles. Project is easy, he just likes to stop you to give you helpful critique. He's gonna give you an A so don't stress! Nice guy
Best professor at LSU. Professor Karam is an amazing man and truly loves what he does and cares about his students. If you put time and effort into his classes you should be able to get an A.
Class wasn't as great as everyone told me it is. Great guy and interesting mateial, but the tests are way harder than he makes them seem. He asks for extremely specific things from presentations that Have no outlines or anything to follow along with. Rambles a lot in class and you have to write down absolutely everything he says to do well on exams
This class is not as easy as everyone tells you! There is a group presentation that everyone receives an A on, but his two exams are more difficult than he leads on. You have to go to class to get full notes, and the exams ask for the smallest details. Study hard, and an A is definitely doable.
Tommy K is probably one of my favorite professors at LSU. He gives you an A on something thats worth 30% of your grade and as long as you go to class, write down everything he says(repeats alot), and READ THE ARTICLES, you will perform very well in this class. The Final was a little challenging, but he curved it. Highly recommend
Ive always loved to go to class because Karam makes the lectures so fun and interesting. His lectures are basically real life situations and case studies. He gives posts a students notes for exams and you have to read a few case studies. Group prob is an A-, A, or A+. Its very easy to get an A in the class if you put in a little effort.
"Everyone will end up with an A." Honestly, just go to class every day and he will make sure you pass. Put in a little effort and it's an easy A. Best winter session course ever. 3 VERY easy presentations and a final that you can pass if you took decent notes every day. 10/10 would take again.
loml. take this class he is a dime.
One of the best. The most laid back professors I've ever had and doesn't ask much at all of the students. You have two exams which are not hard considering he gives you every detail. A presentation which is more fun than it is work, and a research credit which he practically gives to you. If you have to have the marketing class, take Karam.
Karam is hands down one of the best professors at LSU! He is very personable and that shows in his lectures which are very interesting and valuable to any future career one may have! Tests are easy if you take notes and the final presentation is a guaranteed A! Highly recommend Karam... take this class!
His lectures are interesting but the test are very deceiving. He makes it seem like the exams will be very simple if you attend class and pay attention but they are very tricky and go into extreme detail. He kept saying he curves but only curved the final half a question. Easy A presentation but the midterm and final are 70% of the course.
Great lectures, you only have to attend 1x a week. I would HIGHLY suggest going, as test questions come directly from lecture. He gives answers to test questions in lecture. Presentation at end of semester and everyone literally gets an A. GO TO CLASS ON TUESDAYS. I saw people get C's in a class so simple bc they would not go for 1.5 hours per week
Karam makes it seem like he curves heavy but don't be fooled. For our final he only curved 1 point. Very disappointed. And for the midterm he only curved 4 points. The midterm is harder than he makes it seem. The final is ok but you need to study.
Funny, energetic guy. Grade comes from 2 tests (midterm, final), group project and lab surveys. You have to go to class for notes and read the marketing doc in order to do well on the tests. Pretty doable, but getting an A requires really knowing your stuff come test time. Group project serves as good grade boost. Curves but dont expect too much
One of the best professors I've had in LSU. Very interesting lectures. Just study the notes for the test and you're fine.
Very straight forward about what will be on the exams. Presentations are a big part of the class.
Such a funny guy. He is so excited to teach and keeps you entertained the ENTIRE time. I love going to his class he honestly inspires me to try as hard as I can. He says to come to class Tuesday and Thursday is optional and just extra material but anything covered on thur won't be tested. Take. Karam.
Lecture was scheduled for T/TH but he only asked for us to come on Tuesdays. Only 2 exams and one easy group project. No homework. Would 10/10 recommend taking him any chance you get! Easy A
You will not pass if you do not go to class. All of his examples verbatim are on his exams. The group project is seriously nothing to worry about, he isn't terrible like he seems to be. Amazing lectures and fun to listen to. The exams are deceiving and not as easy as he makes them sound. Know lists of items from the notes.
Do NOT let his demeanor fool you. He's a great teacher, and makes it seem like the class is easy, but his midterm is no joke, barely got a D on it. You absolutely need to study everything he gives you, including the articles. The final was a joke though, easy A. 2 tests, research credit, and a group project he gives an automatic 100 for.
He doesn't give his notes, so you have to go to class to take notes. You can't use notes from previous years because he uses current events as examples, and they appear on the test. People who didn't go to class complained that it was hard. Group presentation at the end of the semester is a given A. Don't even practice for it, just know your topic.
Karam is an interesting professor. He is tough, but it doesn't make you hate him for it. His tests are tricky, but not impossible. KNOW THE EXAMPLES HE SAYS IN CLASS. That is what the tests are heavy on. Very small curve if any, so don't rely on that. The presentation is easy, just be ready for him to interrupt you or ask off topic questions.
Lectures are fun, which is good because you need to go to lecture to get the notes! Make sure you write down the examples he gives, because those are tested heavily on. Only has class on Tuesdays, which was great. Be careful about the WSJ articles he tests on, he made it seem like he would ask straightforward details but they were super specific.
No attendance taken, but go to Tuesday lectures because your only notes come from what he says in class. Class on Thursday is optional and don't correspond with test material. He made the tests seem way easier than they were, because they're very specific. Only grades are the 2 tests and a presentation that's a guaranteed A.
TAKE NOTES ON THE STORIES HE TELLS IN CLASS. That is the majority of the tests. Attend class and take notes on everything and you should be fine. There are 4 grades: midterm, final, group presentation, and marketing studies. Final is usually easier. Group presentation is VERY easy. He is a great guy and really interesting. Love him.
I really didnt attend class, but he is only teacher for this class. Its in COX, so a big class of about 800. Hes an okay guy, kinda boring but nothing really bad about him. Class is easy, 2 exams and group project, nothing is hard
His lectures are more like him just rambling so it's hard to take notes. And without notes, it's hard to study for exams. Find a good quizlet to study. The exams themselves are pretty difficult too. He's a nice guy but I don't like the structure of his class. There's 2 exams and 1 group presentation. I wouldn't take him again
T and TH class, but no class on TH. Final grades come from midterm, final, group presentation, and SONA studies. Class is interesting because he is hilarious. Make sure you write down EVERYTHING he says in your notes, and you will be fine. Don't study old quizlets because he changes things up. He is willing to help you and wants everyone to pass.
there's two test and a group project. when it sounds like he's rambling, he's actually teaching so write it down. his test are pretty hard, I made an F both times. What saved me were the group project and the marketing research survey. Even though the class is 2 days a week, we only went one day a week.
Rarely went to class and got an A (he only teaches Tuesdays even though its a Tuesday/Thursday class). 2 tests, a group project, and SONA system research credits but he gave us all 5 for coming to class one day. Just make sure you read the WSJ articles and the tests aren't too bad.
Sports Marketing is the second class I've had the pleasure of Tommy teaching me. His lectures are hilarious, and he's extremely intelligent. 2 easy presentations that he will interrupt during- constructive criticism, and to make you think on your feet. And a final: take solid notes during lectures. He's a Legend at LSU, one of my favorite profs.
If you need a marketing professor choose this one! He's really nice and his lectures are interesting. Pay attention to his stories he tells in class as well as read the articles because that's 50% of the test. You earn the grade that you get!
Lectures are disorganized. Stories/Examples are important for the test. If he repeats something it's important. Has a goofy dad sense of humor. He's super sweet and wants everyone to pass. Group presentation, he gives everyone an A but gotta work for the plus lol. Teaches like he's trying to sell you a car. He rambles lol. Def go to class.
Seems like a great guy who enjoys what he does. During his lectures he tells lots of good stories. With everything online now, I assume the quality of the class has dropped significantly. Very specific nitpick test questions that really shouldn't be on tests. Some questions are bad cause every answer should be right. Idk if he reads what he assigns
Took sports MKT online over the summer w/ COVID. DO take THOROUGH notes as he does test on the tedious details at times.. That said, an A is very attainable. Attend lecture, takes notes & read the articles.. basically put in the work and youll do well! Which should be expected in any class. Awesome teacher. Had an easy presentation & 2 tests!
Took the class online and it wasn't bad at all. The content didn't particularly interest me, but Dr. Karam was very enthusiastic about the content. I didn't as good as I hoped on the exams but the curve helped out. For an online class, the amount of graded opportunity was a little light but its doable.
An overall entertaining professor and good guy. BUT, you have to remember the most useless tidbits of information from every single lecture. Any percentages, references to companies, etc. will be on the test even if he mentions them for a second. Presentation is nothing to worry about, you will do fine.
There are two exams and a presentation due in his class. The presentation he literally says he will automatically give you an A as long as you show up, even if you do horrible. His tests are a little hard but just make sure you take notes on the little details and stories in his lectures. He rounded my grade up from a B- to a B. Great guy.
A Must take class if you are going to do Anything in the business world, even sports careers. A gem of LSU. I see he's only teaching it next as a Second Spring Module 2021 course.(Big mistake Marketing dept.) Optional presentation is invaluable for your career and easy -only gives an A or B on it, and you can do it by yourself or make a group. Nice
Best professor at LSU
I really enjoyed taking a class with Professor Karem. He is very kind and down to earth. He has a lot of knowledge about the correct way to present yourself in a professional setting. His feedback truly helps! I think the things I learned in this class in relation to presenting yourself will definitely help me down the road.
Took him for sports marketing during the wintersession. very fast paced but you learn sooooo much! LOVED his class!
Hands down the greatest professor at LSU. if you have the chance to take one if his classes, jump on it. Literally the GOAT.
Examples are extremely important in this course. There's only 3 grades that count towards your final course grade so its important to do well on those. He will help you if you need to bring your grade up but just show up to class and pay attention to the examples he gives and you'll do well in the course.
Tests are pretty difficult. 2 tests and a presentation are the only grades for this class. You should take notes on his lectures and be familiar with the articles he tells you to read to make a good grade on the tests.
I took this class as an elective, and it was fairly easy. He is such an experienced professor that his lectures are more like sitcoms, be prepared to connect a LOT of sporadic dots.
Professor Karam is hands down the best professor at LSU. His lectures don't even feel like class, they were so interesting and entertaining (and he only lectures for 20-40 min). First test is a little hard but he does a group speech where you're guaranteed an A so you can bring your grade up. LISTEN TO EXAMPLES. 10/10 recommend him.
Take Karam for Marketing! He is funny, engaging, and gives examples for everything. Only 3 graded assignments; 2 exams and a presentation.
A very laid back professor, but knows his stuff! He is very easy to listen to and has great real world examples. I enjoyed the class and hope to take another from him. Only a handful of graded assignment and a couple tests and presentation. Super helpful.
best lsu prof. funny guy with interesting stories. beware the presentation
I respect Professor Karam a lot. He truly cares for the well-being of his students. He is understanding of technical difficulties, or confusion on assignments. He provides GREAT feedback to assignments to prepare you for future ones. He wants to see everyone succeed. He made marketing enjoyable. So happy I was able to take his course.
Professor Karam is the best professor at LSU. He's very funny, gives very few assignments, and will curve the **** out of your grade. He says no one fails his class. The things we cover in class are useful for later in your life. I HIGHLY reccomend Professor Karam.
Great guy and is willing to help with you with your personal marketing and presentation skills but final grade consists of midterm exam, presentation, final exam. Everything for the test comes from articles and what he says in class that is sometimes hard to keep up with. Not difficult material, just sometimes it is all over the place
He is the best person. There are only three grades for the whole class, and it is not hard. He is very nice.
I cannot stress how much I loved Thomas Karam's class. The lectures were entertaining and he is very clear about things included in the exams. The only "required reading" is the Wall Street Journal articles posted on Moodle. Word of advice, it is in your best interest to actually show up and listen because it makes the class infinity easier.
Best professor I have ever taken
THE BEST PROFESSOR EVER!!!!!! Please take him if you get the chance. His class does not even feel like you are in a class. He is so entertaining, and I could not recommend him enough!!!!!!!!!!!
Professor Karam is a once in a lifetime professor to have. He truly cares about his students and how well they do in his class. You will not have many professors that are as talented and successful as Professor Karam. I will definitely try to take him again .
THE BEST PROFESSOR AT LSU! You will make an A if you just go to class. There's no textbook so everything on the exams comes from exactly what he says during the lecture. He is so entertaining, knowledgable, experienced, and respected. His syllabus is also a bit vague so you won't know about due dates unless you go to class.
I had a positive experience with Dr. Karam as a professor. He is knowledgeable and communicates effectively, enhancing students' learning experience.
I love Karam and his lectures but his class is hard. There are only 3 assignments & you really NEED to pay attention to his lectures. Test one was extremely rough so be aware, it counts for 40% of the grade. PAY ATTENTION TO EXAMPLES most test question are specific to his examples. Do not rely on quizlet it won't help. His lectures are awesome tho
If you have to take his class, then be prepared to study because in the online classes the test is using real world examples of concepts you have seen and studied in the course. I would take his class again because he is really clear on how he grades and be prepared to submit a video presentation towards the end of the class. Great teacher.
The Midterm/Final take up 65% of the final grade. If you aren't a good test-taker, especially with someone talking in your ear the entire time through ProctorU, DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE. It was not mentioned in the syllabus, but you also have to pay for each exam, which I did not even realize until I went in to take it. Karam was unhelpful.
Professor Karam is chill. His lectures are definitely a mouthful and he does just chat sometimes but, he will let you know what things will be on the exams. Just go to the lectures and write down his examples because the exams can be specific. He makes you do a presentation which also isn't really that hard. Take this guy, but still try. He's ez.
Probably the best professor at LSU. Only graded by 3 things (2 exams and a presentation). Tests are on moodle but kinda tough. This class is an easy A if you put a little bit of effort. His stories during lectures are entertaining. Highly recommended.
This is one of the best professors I've ever taken, and he's made marketing as a major a lot more exciting and riveting.
Professor Karam is amazing! No textbook. A quiz each week, two exams, and an easy final project. Take this class! You will not regret it. He is the best professor.
Best professor in MKT. Take this class!
He is great as long as you arent like me and dont get on zoom
Professor Karam was awesome!! Really care about his students and always willing to help. Very passionate about marketing, and I really enjoyed his class! Very few assignments.
LOVED having Karam. I am agnostic and this class is the closest thing I have had to a church experience in years. Very funny, personable, and lighthearted. Lectures feel like a sitcom. Makes the content easy to understand and is happy to help outside of class. Exams are straight forward. Absolute campus gem and I 100% recommend him.
Karam is truly a great professor. His lectures are engaging and are usually 30 minutes long. There is a WSJ discussion and 2 exams. The exams are easy if you watch the lecture, take good notes, and study study because exams are based on his lectures.
Most chill and human professor at LSU. He understands the life of a student, and is a very forgiving and fair grader. Nuff said, geaux tigers (iykyk).
Dr. Karam is the best. He is very charismatic and caring. Very passionate about what he does. I enjoyed watching his lectures, even though attendance wasn't mandatory. Graded by 2 exams and 1 project. Lectures can be a bit hard to follow, but watch the recorded lectures if you need help and you'll be fine. 10/10 professor.
A very good professor for marketing 3401. His lectures are entertaining, and 30% of our grade was a discussion that he basically gives a free A on. The 2 exams are not bad, but they do ask some very specific questions about stories/examples he talks about during lectures, so you do need to take good notes.
Attendance isn't mandatory, but his lectures are AMAZING. There is no way you'll fail this class. One of my group members from the group discussion got into an argument with him and we still got a 95. I'm not the best test taker, so I didn't get the best grade in the class, but he curves.
What a guy. If you have the opportunity to take him, please do. He truly cares about his student's success in the course. Just two exams and one presentation. TAKE THOROUGH NOTES OF THE EXAMPLES HE GIVES... His exams are primarily those and other articles he has you read. One of my favorites for sure.
Very enthusiastic and loves his job. 2 tests that are medium difficulty. Take really good notes and write down every story that comes out of his mouth because the tests consist of examples he talks about. He will refuse to fail you so don't worry about that. Group speech to him, but not the class. You pick a time to present to him.
One of the best at LSU. Classes are short. Lectures are real engaging because of this dude's personality. He doesn't go off a slideshow or a book he just goes straight off the dome. He tests us on a few wsj articles and class lectures (which are real easy if you take good notes). You don't need to attend but you'll want to because he's so fun.
He's great ! loved him
Dr. Karam is a good professor, but the 2 exams that he give was hard because it was all about examples and you have to read Wall Street journals. Even thought the two exams are hard, he does make us do a group presentation, but it is only to him and its an easy A. He does not have powerpoint, but there is transcript that you can find on zoom.
Professor Karam brings a fun, engaging approach to marketing. His lectures are entertaining, and with a bit of effort, you can easily get an A. Unstuck ai was a great study tool alongside the course content.
Honestly, this class is just some random facts that he says. So disorganized and I just don't know what to study. C'mon, interruption during presentation? Ain't help at all, I feel no professionalism
This dude lied about extra credit that he never gave us. Two exams are 3/4 of the grade in this class. Thomas Karam is a liar. Don't take this course if you actually expect to learn something.
He is an awful professor. His tests are very confusing and most of it feels like new material that wasn't covered in class. He lied to us and said that we would get extra credit for doing these surveys we never got. 2 tests are the majority of your grade and if you do bad on one you're screwed. Stay away.
Very easy-going professor, easy to understand! No homework, only three assignments; 2 tests, and a group presentation that he guarantees an A on. He hosts zoom lectures due to the mass amount of students in his classes, and they are actually so entertaining to watch! He records them incase you miss a lecture too.
Dr Karam was great. Took the online marketing class and it was pretty straight forward. Usually one writing assignment and a quiz due each week, one midterm, a video presentation, and the final exam. Lots of reading so you'll def need the book. Learned a lot and enjoyed the class mostly. Stay on top of assignments and you'll be fine.
Talented/engaging professor. Gives good advice - no homework - 2 exams & 1 presentation. Students find it hard to follow as he rambles often. Starts a topic and covers it over four more lectures jumping between topics/stories. Difficult to make good notes. Save transcripts-saved me on two exam questions I missed in 40 pages of detailed notes.
Talented/engaging professor- gives helpful advice. Rambles from one topic to another over multiple lectures so note taking is a MAJOR challenge. Dump transcripts for Moodle (no proctor) exams - saved me on 2 questions even though I had 40 pages of notes. No homework, lectures recorded -2 exams, 1 presentation. Respected and kind professor.
Pretty easy class. No homework and only 2 exams, and a group presentation. He records all of his lectures so you can go back and watch.
He's a good teacher and it's an easy class. I sadly got a C and a B on the exams so the easy A on the presentation didn't help.
Good professor. Weird grader on group presentation but you're guaranteed an A. Only thing that sucks is there are only 3 grades: 2 exams and the presentation and for the exams you HAVE TO have notes on the random stories he tells in class because they make up basically the whole exam so no0n AI can really do it.
Overall he's a chill professor. Literally just had two exams and the Wall Street group presentation. Wish he would've explained the project better but it was easy. He will interrupt your group while speaking to see if you can think on the fly but I was barely able to speak and that was a bit annoying or he finished what my group was trying to say.
i didnt attend a single lecture and got an A-. BUT you have to preapre for the exams cuz all the questions are specifally lecture based. what helped me was copying down all the lecture transcripts to use during the exams. group presentation was an easy A. hes kinda an odd guy but chilll. just make sure you dont go into the exams with nothing
Light course load, but must attend the online lectures. There are no slides, so paying attention is important. Good lecturer, but can ramble on sometimes. Take notes. There were only two exams and a group project. If you do poorly on an exam, it sets you up poorly in the class. You have to take notes or you will not do well. I would not retake it
3 total assignments. 2 exams and 1 group project.
