He is a fairly easy prof and makes it an easy A. If you miss less than 4 days you get an automatic extra 5 points on your actual grade. He doesn't give out an overwhelming amount of hwk (20% of grade) and often it's just practice work. 4 exams, first was super easy, but the last 3 are much harder. Final may or may not be comprehensive (up to him).

Kinzel, is happy and jokes a lot....until he feels like his math knowledge or teaching skills have been questioned. This insecurity usually arises when you ask questions about directions that have been given. Being confused by his directions is something he takes offensively. Its as if you directly questioned his authority if you are confused.

Overall Thomas has been great. There are two homework assignments per week and two quizzes (not including the final) throughout the semester. He is tougher grader on homework assignments, but he wants you to succeed and drops lower scores at the end of the semester. He does his best to keep lectures engaging for the 1hour 45min class and is funny!

Homeowkr was graded SO HARD. He literally brought up politics in a MATH class. He isn't very understanding and makes his political views known and its uncomfortable for everyone. He makes study guides so big for only half of it to be on the test. Nice guy but wouldn't reccomend.

Stats254! Only class I've ever failed in my college career, I love math and I'm an elementary education major with a mathematics endorsement now so consider that :) Idk what the other professors for 254 are like but he was not good at answering any questions. If you have to take, make sure to go to the tutoring the math center provides! Good luck

I took this class my first semester of Freshman year. Professor Kinzel is an incredibly hard grader, he's unclear in his expectations, and will nitpick every bit of work you do even if it's done correctly. I consistently got marked down for tiny mistakes like spelling and order of tasks completed. I honestly don't know what I could have done better

The professor tends to grade a little harshly, and the first few lessons can be quite confusing. However, he is accessible and willing to help to make sure you succeed.

Extremely fair professor for this level of math, I thought he explained things very well and offers plenty of points on easy homework assignments. You can fail every test and still get a B. Also the 3 percent grade raise for less than 6 abscences is awesome.

This class was fairly easy as long as you paid attention and followed along with the worksheets. His exams were clear and you're able to use the notes and study guides he provides. He's a nice guy and I would take this class with him again.

Professor Kinzel is awesome! He's very flexible with students and truly just want to prepare you for higher level math classes. The class has a lot of homework but it will be the same across all 143 sections. I would definitely take him again!
