This class was so easy AND he tried to make it funny with some biology jokes (although they were quite lame). I thought he was a good teacher & I recommend him.

He is very personable- easy to listen to & understand. He is straight forward in the material and willing to answer questions. I enjoyed lab with him.

Very easy...EVERYTHING on the test is talked about in class (so surprise questions)...multi-choice test! Tells a corny joke at the beginning of class..but you learn to love them and expect them (then you wonder where the joke was when he don't tell one)

Ok guys, for all of you who are looking for an additional biology class to take, TAKE BIO 231 in spring so you get Dr. Lammers! He is extremely laid back, super smart, very helpful and even though it is the study of plants he makes it interesting. Assignments can almost never be late, and exams arent too hard. He obviously does not find the bible or God in science and tells the class that anyone who would state that intelligent design incorporates science in any way is a dirty, sick liar who is messed up in the head. I do not find him respectful at all.

Good professor.He knows what he's talking about. DO THE QUESTIONS he gives you..25% of them are ALWAYS on the exams. His exams are right from his notes, so you don't have to spend so much time reading the book.The book is usefull to look at the pictures that he puts up on the overhead. I think lammers is a great Professor. The resources that he gives us to learn is never ending. People may argue that he's a "hardcore atheist" but in reality his veiws are just that "his veiws" and I've gained an open mind to life because of it. Lammers is extremely knowlagable, and helpful, which every outsanding college professor should be!

Doctor Lammers is a ****, that's all there is to it. Even though my major is biology and I need to pay attention in lecture it doesn't take much to follow what he's talking about. The optional quetions he gives us at the end of class are very helpful. He'll prepare you for the exams, just don't slack when it comes to reading the book a bit.

I loved Lammers! I hate science and have had many problems with it in the past, but he was very easy to understand, was awesome at explaining things, and was very funny!

He is a very good professor, you just have to pay close attention to every word for your notes. Once he says something once, that's normally it. So you have to catch it the first time. But he knows exactly what he is talking about without hesitation.

This class was pretty easy. The professor uses overheads to teach the class and it really worked well. He cracks up jokes and they are pretty funny. There are five exams and they are pretty easy as long as you study. The labs are usually worth ten points each day and you just have to draw. This class was well taught by the professor.

Do not buy the book. It is not mandatory even though it is listed as such on the bookstore's website. We didnt use it once because he puts together a course manual and that is all you need!

Excellent. You do not need the text book. He lays it out very well each class and you immediately go over it in lab. He even emails you at the end of each week with an overview that is a good study guide for the test. He has been doing this for years and is very approachable. It would be nice if they were all a good as he is.

Mr. Lammers is a blast! He suprised me by remembering my name, which I thought pit professors would have a hard time doing. It is fairly rare that this professor will lose you in his lecture, which I find wonderful! He rocks!!

He is a great professor he will go backwards for you if you need help. If funny in class and can make biology interesting. Take him if you for any biology class for sure. He also gets done with lecture 10-20 minutes early every day and will cover everything that needs to be covered he even wants students to fill out a rate my professor review

Easy class, good assignments to prepare you for a biology career. He is very enthusiastic about his work. It's hard to know what to expect on the quizzes though and they are both essay. Just review your notes for the first one and the second one is mainly self explanatory when you get it, you just aren't told how to prepare for it.

This class is very tough but Dr. Lammers is a good professor. You almost always get out of class early and he is straight to the point with his lectures most of the time. The downside is that his exams are tough and lab is worth more than lecture which is SUUCKS! Buyer beware but if you need the class, he is probably the best way to go!

VERY helpful and VERY kind. However, his tests are long and difficult. You literally need to study EVERYTHING. I didn't realize this on the first test and didn't do so well, but for the rest I studied and got all As. Challenging, but interesting and worth studying for. Dr. Lammers is a really great guy. He really cares about each student and is willing to help. Lab classes are hilarious and so much fun. The exams are longer and harder than I expected, though. You really have to know ALL of the material. But if you study, you will be fine. No textbook needed.

I had Mr. Lammers for my Bio 105 lab class and I'm lucky I did. If you're taking Bio 105 lecture, make sure to get this guy for your lab! No test or anything, just a weekly lab report that he gives you a few days to finish and email to him. I got 194/200 points for this lab and it wasn't too difficult as long as you attend and pay attention.

At first, I was thrown off by Dr Lamers, it seemed a bit silly for a man of his stature to be teaching a class about botany, but his teaching methods grew on me. I came to understand that he showed a genuine passion for this subject, he came prepared every day to class to define the meanings of all the material in an interesting manner. Great prof.

Great teacher! Sometimes a little confusing. Tests are very straightforward. He's a very funny guy, and cares about what he talks about. If you need help, you can talk to him. He sends out an email weekly going over everything he said in class, and these emails cover things on the test almost directly. I would love to be in his class again!

Met Dr. Lammers last fall semester for Bio 105 and absolutely loved him! He has a great passion for the subject he teaches and inspired me to become a bio major myself and last spring took his 231 class. He is extremely helpful and easy to talk with, I highly recommend him. The material can be tough, but he is always willing to help.

Honestly, I love Lammers, great guy and prof, only thing that bugs me is that he has no powerpoints/online notes, just notes from his talking which is tough. He knows his stuff though. This is a tough class no doubt, I studied more for this than chem and got an A in chem and a B in this class. Go to lecture and study if you want an A.

He knows everything about the topics discussed and explains what the correct solutions should be if you didn't get the correct one. Lammers is such a great professor, if you pay attention in class and do a little reading outside of class you will pass for sure. He even makes lectures fun by telling cheesy jokes. If you ever need help he is always willing to help and is super understanding.

You have to show up to lecture to understand, just reading the book wont work because you are only tested on what he says in lecture. You could be wasting your time on things he never even talked about. I went to SI at least once a week if not two and it was very helpful. It is a smaller group so you can ask more questions.

Not the teacher to take if you're a visual learner. I couldn't follow along because his lectures were all by voice, and nothing to look at. Sure, he puts up figure pictures from the book, still didn't help me. As I quickly tried to write down and remember what he was saying, my notes almost made no sense when I read them back to myself later on.

Dr Lammers made lecture fun, don't be intimidated. He's a very nice. His class makes you think in a good way. The only downside is that he doesn't use powerpoints. He gives you oulines for each lecture, and make sure you listen. His exams are based on them. The best part? Hes honest. He doenst put stuff on exams that you don't go over. No tricks.

Very good professor. Does not use powerpoints, though, so you need to take notes based on what you hear. Tests are easy and fair. He'll make jokes sometimes to get the lecture started.

Dr. Lammers is very knowledgeable about the subjects covered in Bio 105. He answers all questions directly and does not expect the class to know anything that he has not discussed in class. There are no surprises in this class, he tells us what will be on the exam and what will not be on the exam. He also uses overhead pictures that are in the book

Professor Lammers is a very good professor. The subject on the other hand is tough. He explains himself really well all you have to do is make sure to show up and take good notes because studying for exams are crucial. Lectures went the full hour like twice the whole semester, usually 45 minutes. Bottom line, great professor but tough class.

This class is difficult because it consists of solely exams and labs. Lectures are very clear and Dr. Lammers is engaging, even though he sometimes goes on tangents. Exam questions can be worded tricky, but you can figure them out if you really know your material. Is very willing to help if you go into his office or email him.

You must attend class! I attended every class and had no problem what so ever on the tests. I received an A or A- on every exam. You don't have to study hard, as long as you pay attention to what he says. He doesn't use powerpoint, which I don't mind at all. He is really fun and down to earth! TAKE THIS BIO CLASS! Lammers is helpful, funny, and clear in what he expects for the class. If you don't go to class, you will not pass this class. The tests are not easy but if you study for them, take good notes, and pay attention in class you will be fine!

The exams are exactly based on lecture material. Class is hard because your grade is only made up of 4 exams but the professor is awesome. We rarely had hour long classes (40 minutes about). Professor had costume judging contest because we had class on Halloween! It was a fun class an made the dry topic at least applicable to day to day life

Professor Lammers is a very good professor. He gives four exams throughout the semester. They are all multiple choice, no essays. The tests were not that hard. I definitely recommend going to SI. They are extremely helpful, and they give you a good review of the major concepts covered in lecture. Overall, a great class and a great professor!

Lammers is a very good professor. He lets you know what will be on the tests because the only material on the test is what he says in lecture. He is funny and answers any questions you may have, with just the amount of info that you need to know. I definitely would recommend him!

For a good grade, don't skip. He's a good lecturer, anyhow. Take notes and pay attention to the following: 1. His review of the previous class 2. Assigned book problems (some used on exam) 3. The weekly email summaries Those three things very clearly spell out what you need to know. Also, SI is GREAT for this class. Just go.

He is a bit old fashioned with his lectures, he uses an overhead projector instead of powerpoint so you have to go to lecture to get the notes, also you have to pay attention to him talking because what he talks about in class, that's on the exam. Also the only grades there are are the 4 exams so take a lot of time to study!

He is a great professor and really knows his stuff, but the lectures are incredibly boring. Not many tests, but there are no other points besides tests so you have to study hard. He is a really nice guy and is always willing to help you when you need it.

Lammers is one of the best professors I have ever had. He is very clear and to the point. However you need to do outside work to get the grade you want. He is very nice and fun to talk to as well, he cares about your education and goals.

Dr. Lammers is very helpful and concise with his lecture material. He usually lets you out early depending on the material to be covered that day. Honestly didn't study much because I went to all the classes and absorbed most of the information. Tries to make bio fun. Does a review before exams and sends weekly summary emails.

He is honestly the best professor I have had thus far. He's one of the few prof's on this campus that know how to make 100-level courses easier to understand. He sends out weekly emails, does a review the class before an exam, and has a facebook group for this students! Such a sweet man. I wish I could take more of his classes! HIGHLY recommend!

Easy class. He sends out emails with what he talked about, AND he has all lecture outlines posted in advance. Great class if you're a busy person.

His lectures are incredibly thorough. There's no ppt though, so put your listening ears on and expect hand cramps from frantic note-taking. If you write down everything, and study those notes, you won't have to read the textbook though it is good for clarification. There's no SI for his section. Besides lab, exams are the only grading method.

Not only does Professor Lammers have numerous creditations for his work, it is rare to have a professor that understands the student experience as much as he does. It is clear that he tries to keep content hip and interesting for us as well as more importantly, articulates difficult to understand concepts well. He is and has been my best teacher .

He will answer any question you throw at him. He is always giving students great advice on his Facebook page, and he is just a very polite guy that actual treats college freshman as adults, which we are.

Lammers was one of my favorite professors first semester of my freshmen year. He is a funny guy and really makes biology interesting. The material itself is somewhat challenging but he really works to help you understand, and his examples will make you laugh out loud. Overall a really good experience!

Dr. Lammers cares more about his students than just their grades. He cares about their well-being overall and that is a cool quality for a professor to have. Lab was easy with him, all you had to do was show up, do the lab, and write up a lab report. He even cut some of the labs short which was nice. Recommended

Dr. Lammers is one of the best professors I've ever had. His lectures are different in that he doesn't constantly display boring slides and actually lectures orally to the class. He is knowledgeable and only tells you what is important to know. Test vary in difficulty according to section but if you study a bit you should do fine.

Dr. Lammers is a great way to get started in college as a freshman and is just as great for older students. He tries to provide positive direction in your life through his work. He does not put slides online and goes at a quickened pace some days so make sure to pay attention. Always open to criticism and always willing to help his students.

Best Bio Professor at Oshkosh! This class does require a lot of studying but he makes it easy to learn and follow along. The book is not required but if you read the chapters it will give you a better understanding of what you learn in the lectures. Lammer's taught me a new love for Biology this semester, I highly recommend!

I screwed up and cheated in a exam, he found out but he was still so respectful. I really felt awful about cheating, I still remember his words when he said "if you can cheat on an exam, you can also cheat on your partner." Those words really hit me hard and promised to never do such thing. HE'S THE BEST PROFESSOR EVER!! Never break his trust.

By far the best teacher that I have ever had so far at Oshkosh, taught great would give great lectures, and made bio fun at points. He is retiring glad I got to have a class with him before he did.
