Awesome teacher, loved the class, looking forward to taking another class With tom. Very insightful, helpful, and cares about his students. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TEACHER!!!!!
Overall, A good Teacher. Very smart, and I learned something new in his class everyday.
He's a great big geek, which means he's really excited about the material, making the class a lot more fun and interesting.
Very enthusiastic about the material
You know he was interested in what he was teaching. He was very helpful and worked things out with you if you had trouble. Wish School comp lab would open the MLO's. Use the mlo's!!!
Very knowledgeable instructor. The class I took was a hybrid. I would have liked to have taken the class old school and have nothing online, to take full advantage of his knowledge and enthusiasm of the material.
Tom really enjoys the subject matter of the course which makes it easy to learn and enjoy the class
Overall, Tom is an AWESOME teacher! He is very knowledgeable and helpful which makes it easy to learn in his class. I HIGHLY recommend this Professor!
I enjoy the class and the teacher. He is really great
We have a class once a week, two more hours a week will make a big difference. I love the lab time.
Thomas Lee is one of the best, most patient professors i've ever had in my life. and i have a PhD in female anatomy.
He is great!
Overall nice and helpful professor!
Reading pace for this kind of material is somewhat brisk but not unreasonable. The weight of different assignments seems disproportionate to the amout of time they require. Very professional and helpful though.
Tom Lee is a true geek, and it shows in his level of interest in, and enthusiasm for the material that he teaches. He also has a sincere desire to see his students 'get it', and he bends over backwards to provide opportunities for them to do just that. If you don't do well in this course, then you're just not trying very hard.
Great teacher assignments are helpful and not too hard.
Interesting class made all the better by an engaging instructor. Textbook/MLO's could be better but class itself is definitely worth taking. Structured so that you cannot miss class very often. Course workload is a little above average IMHO. Overall, Tom Lee is a very good instructor and this is a fun class.
This guy is awesome and tends to keep the class in a pretty good atmosphere. The labs themselves can be rigorous but he's very helpful. He's also super responsive via email.
Instructor was very helpful and knowledgeable. Don't miss any classes as you will miss a lot. Also, need to pay attention because he covers quite a bit in class and if you "check out" even for a second, you might miss important steps.
VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE. LOTS OF INFO TO LEARN. APPRECIATE THE IN-CLASS LABS WE COMPLETE, NEED MORE INSTRUCTION LIKE THIS. TESTOUT ENVIRONMENT SHOULD BE COMPLETED AROUND IS.
He does a good job teaching what he teaches. I'd he happy to take another class from him.
Do not miss a class, pay 100% attention or you will miss plenty. Listen to his words attentively, like you read the fine details of any contract...
Great teacher, good material, and an excelent manner of presenting it.
He loves his job, and knows it well
Good Teacher cares about Material.
He is a great teacher.
He is a hand holder. Would be better if he let you work on your own or in groups and figure things out for yourself instead of telling you exactly what to do. So I guess his way makes things super easy but you don't learn as much.
My favorite teacher on campus, provides many different ways to consume content and is always very clear and concise. Highly recommended. He added this course over summer to help us graduate sooner, great guy.
Great overall teacher.
BETTER TEACHER THIS QUARTER THAN LAST QUARTER. HOPE HE KEEPS GETTING BETTER WITH TIME.
Good young professor he will be great as his experience increases
great teacher.
never help when answering queries
Great teacher, labs are fun are not to hard.
Instructor is as enthusiastic as he is knowledgeable about the subject matter. He has a high level of patience for students who don't catch on right away. Attendance isn't 'mandatory', but it is essential for success in the class.
He is extremely enthusiastic about his subject matter and it makes learning a lot more fun.
The class was a lot of fun and included quite a bit of additional information that was relative to network infrastructure but not required by the course. Overall great class/instructor.
great instructor!
Tom is a very good teacher, I love taking classes with him and always look forward to attending class.
Tom is very knowledgable and personable. Sometimes he can move fast, but he won't leave you behind. If you need clarity, just ask, and you shall receive.
I really like the class, and above all the lab time.
No comment, excellent professor.
Easy class... don't think he has much experience teaching. Very patient, and tries to be helpful.
Knowledgeable, but would helps if GUIDING and helping student than all the empty big ego talks and supposedly funny but meaningless/irrelevant words. Basic of teaching is to guide and help student learn a material, not on trying to amuse or impress the class with slangs. A student would emulate a worthy teacher in knowledge and conduct.

Moves a bit fast in class for students who are relatively new to the course material. Speak up if you need help though and he'll make sure you get caught up.
The class is awesome with plenty of interactive coursework enabling us to get a "real world" feel for our careers. Tom is an outstanding instructor! I look forward to having him as my instructor in future classes
Tom is an awesome teacher! Will take his 223 and 227 classes!
Tom is a great teacher and makes learning the subject matter fun and easy.
instructor is not clear, everything is a test, teaches to the geeks in the class, must show up each time to class or risk missing a quiz, horrible textbooks/expensive, only so so when u ask him for help. Take Rudy Helm instead for this class.
Tom is the best
Instructor is very knowledgeable and what he doesn't know, he will endeavor to find out. Very receptive to questions and being available for help outside of class time. His enthusiasm for the subject is evident in his teaching style!
dedicated, young teacher, has worked in tech for years, very knowledgeable in subject, helpful, has a bit of an ego but all in all a great teacher
The instructor was extremely slow to respond to questions via e-mail (online course) if he answered at all. In week 8 of the class we still had not gotten any grades beyond week 3. There was no communication whatsoever and he did not seem to have the time to teach this class
Like the structure of assignments at home and in class. They allow some flexibility in doing work. Alot of learning is possible. You get out of it what you put into it.
When you ask him questions, he gets too cocky with his answers at times and he sure got some EGO. Don't get me wrong he is a boy genius but maybe he needs to focus on his students more than himself.
Tom is a very helpful and knowledgeable instructor. If you get the chance to learn any NSCOM classes, definitely take it in person with Tom!
My favorite NSCOM teacher by a long shot!
Great Teacher! Must be in class for labs (and do them) to pass. CSG are not horrible. Overall very thorough!
He makes it HARD for diligent students to get good grades. He begrudges students the marks to do well on his quizzes/labs, demoralizing them by obfuscating materials he quizzes, misleading with wrong emphasis, and letting 'important' answers slipped. It's about students acquiring knowledge, not about how the instructor can trip students up.
Excellent teacher; lays out class guidelines very well and has a great teaching style. Is willing to bargain on a different grade and wants you to succeed. A , would recommend again!
Tom is very knowlegeable, enthusiastic, and just.
Tom is a very fair instructor. While he is not overly bearing with his teaching he does expect you to pay attention and put in a good deal of effort. This is great preparation for the real world. He's always easy to contact with email and avilable to answer class related questions. One difficult area is preparing for quizzes as they are hard
Tom is very good teacher for Microsoft Server and related areas. He knows his stuff, and is pretty good at communicating that knowledge to students in an easily understandable way(something that IT teachers sometimes lack).
Great teacher very helpful would take his classes again.
Great teacher very helpful would take his classes again had a great knowledge of the classes he taught.
Fair and sets clear expectations
Tom does care for his student. He wants them to learn and he does his best, it shows. He is funny and interactive, so does not make his class boring, I like that in a teacher. I would have loved to see 5 days class, all hands on, knowing how important it is to know your trade. Book knowledage is ok, doing it hands on and learning all tools counts.
Tom is an excellent instructor. He is very clear and encourages questions and discussions.
Tom is a great instructor. He surely take time to help you outside of class time.
Tom is a thourogh and fast instructor. Be prepared to hit the ground running if you are new to the subject. Otherwise, he's a great teacher.
Good instructor and very nice person. He is ready to listen and help.
This class is the most well tought and clear IT class I have taken the amount of effort you put into it will determine what you get out of it. The amount of work required to get a good grade is minimal, but if you want to learn the subject putting in more than the minimum will be required.
He is a very intelligent teacher and knows his stuff. However, some of the homework is incomprehensible. Be prepared to work hard. He does not accept late work at all.
Had Tom for one class last quarter and I was not happy with his interaction in the online setting. This quarter he has improved quite a bit.
Tom is one of the best instructors I have encountered at Bellevue College. He is very knowledgeable, a great communicator, patient & understanding, easy to understand.
Great instructor. Provided the assignments and the due date and allowed us to forge ahead without becoming overbearing. After my initial confusion on how to complete the weekly questions, I did quite well in the class. He always answer emails sent to him in a timly manner.
Unfortunately taking this class by Online is really hard. He gives students the quick response via Email, but a little late to grade for each assignments since he is the busy instructor teaching 2~3 classes each quarter. If students have questions, he gives them details and easy to understand.
Great teacher, Tom has very knowledge networking courses. You can't be a slacker for his class~
This instructor is very clear wit his expectations and his instructions. I found this class to be quite a bit of work, but it was worth it in the end.
Another great class with Tom. It is nice to have the same teacher multiple times. Able to adapt to teacher.
Very fair and clear about his expectations
The professor is very knowledgable and fair. He pushes us to make sure we know and understand the content.
Instructor pushes so we learn and is fair in extenuating circumstances, like extending due dates when we had snow and power was out.
Tom is awesome!!! Will take his NSCOM 227 next quarter!
Toms NS223 class was good. He response quickly to any email you send. He also is clear on what is needed and what and when things are due. Although an online class was available during office hours. If anything changed he updated us promptly. Take this class!
Difficult and fast paced material, but Tom provides a lot of help if you just ask. He is very fair and sets clear expectations.
he is fair
Mr. Lee outlines expectations and explains assignments well. If I do not do well in class, it has more to do with personal health than his technique as a teacher. The research questions were unexpected for the class, but worth the time.
Thomas Lee is an excellent instructor with knowledge of IT practice in real-world environment.
Helpful and straight-forward.
He seems knowledgeable. I took the online class though and the instructor was not instrumental in the teaching. Do the reading and the online labs and that is about it. No additional reference materials. Slow to grade and respond (more often than not)Perhaps he is better in the classroom.
This professor seems like he's knowledgble. however he served no purpose, getting answers to questions was like fitting a square in a circle. Google ended up being my professor.
Great instructor. Willing to go the extra mile to help you, you just have to ask. He is upfront and honest about his expectations and requirements. It is a hard class, but if you put in the work you will do well.
Thanks for the opportunities to get extra credit for work beyond class!!
The class MR Lee instructs is NSCOM227
He is full of himself at times, but he is at least blunt about it. I think, he is trying to show that we also can get there except the conceitedness aspect of it. I for one, is glad that someone who could go further than BC decided to stay around and share his knowledge. Do the work, thats what you signed up for!
I always enjoy his class and he is very knowledgeable.
Tom is an enthusiastic, energetic instructor. Has a ton of knowledge in his brain. A very good presenter, has a good voice in class. He could slow down a little bit, sometimes I find myself not able to keep up. But I guess that is better than going to slow! I look forward to taking more classes from Tom in the future.
Clear and easy if you study. Everything is doable. Positive atmosphere inside the class.
Tom is a clear, fair teacher. Tells you when and what is expected. As long as you attend class, listen and do the quiz and labs you are great! Similar to other NSCOM classes if you have taken any previously before NSCOM 227. Instructor is very knowledgeable and you learn a lot!
Tom has always been a great and knowledgeable teacher. Keep it up Tom.
Although "not hot" Tom is the bomb! It has been my pleasure to be in 4 of the courses in my program that he has instructed. One of my faves of all time.
Tom knows the material, & keeps class interesting.
Tom is very good teacher. He knows stuff. I recommended it for everyone.
Tom is very knowledgeable and very personable. I have thoroughly enjoyed taking NSCOM courses with Tom over the last year.
He knows the material very well.
Tom is a very knowledgeable instructor and is more than willing to help out in class when you're stuck on something. He expects you to give your all while enrolled in his class. If you do you will learn quite a bit.
its nice to have the same instructor for multiple course especially when he is very knowledgeable.
Great Teacher. Just do your work and turn it in on time. I took NSCOM 220 and it was a very easy course for me. 17 years of IT experience under my belt. YMMV
Great instructor. He is very knowledgable, incredible, and creative... He is really helpful..
If you study you would be more than happy. A lot of opportunities for extra credits. The way Tom teaches, humor, and atmosphere in the class is what other instructors should learn from him. He is one of my favorite instructors so far.
I have learned so much from this course which helped so much for my work and personal computer use. Thank you!
This instructor is awesome at teaching and explaining the materiel. Also he lives it.
This instructor is excellent and he also lives what he does.
Tom is awesome! He is my favorite instructor; I took lots of his NSCOM classes. It's very easy to get an A, and also you will learn a lot! Good luck!
Tom is a great instructor, he helps where he can. His pace is quick but not insane. Plenty of extra credit opportunities if you just watch for them. He teaches for the real world.
Labsim is a new tool I got to use this quarter. I think it will better prepare me to take any certifications I take in the future than any other program or tool I've used before. I took an online course, so my in person interaction with Mr Lee was limited, but the class was well worth the time.
Tom is a great instructor. It's great to learn from him as he has worked extensivly in the IT field.
He's very enthusiastic about the material and crystal clear one what will be due in class.
He's flexible with due dates as long as the lines of communication are kept open. He's generous with extra credit if inquiring minds want it. Just remember, EC means you have to work for it! An all-around nice guy.
This guy has his ups and downs. He seems sort of lazy and slow with responses but usually gets back to you every time you ask for help. He's a young guy who was actually a student of the college, so part of me feels he still has some learning to do.
Won't let you sink if you don't want to
He is quite knowledgeable in the field, and works hard to make sure students that want to learn are learning. However, his grading can be a little weird at times.
His experience in the IT field is a major asset to his teaching methodology. He gives valuable insight in the use of the course material in real-world situations and understands that he has students who are at different levels in IT experience.
This instructor is very approachable and helpful. I enjoyed my time in this class as i learned valuable skills applicable to my field of study.
Great teacher overall. Cares alot about his students getting a good grade and learning.
i can't complain about this professor. everything is very straightforward. some reviews talk about posted grades but they aren't that far behind. email if you want to know right away, otherwise no complaining.
took this class online. i enjoyed him as a professor. nothing surprising, all straightforward.
Great teacher, took the online class. Easy to follow what is due each week, and he grades on the easy side.
Tom Rocks.
RP - Done
He's very knowledgable in his field. Goes the extra mile to make sure you're understanding what we're learning.
Nice class
organizited, will prepared class material
Tom is always prepared and goes the extra mile to make sure students know the content.
He is responsive to email and gives fair homework assignments.
Don't know much else he can do to teach from online, maybe include video lessons. This is definitely a class to take in a real classroom if you have a choice.
Good instructor
This is a very helpful class for learning the intricacies of Windows Server 2008 applications. I gained a lot of knowledge that will aid me in my profession.
Tom is a great instructor. He is fair, understandable and everthing is layed out at the beginning of the semester. NO SUPRISES
He does a great job teaching what he does.
Tom is a great instructor who is very helpful to all students. His industry experience enriches the curriculum immensely. I look forward to taking more courses from Tom.
Tom is extremely knowledgable in all he teaches. He is also very helpful and a great teacher caring about the outcome of his students.
He is a very good teacher. He always got answers for your questions. He is so helpful.
Great teacher. I like the materials and the text book.
Tom is a great guy, he will help you anything you want
I've had numerous classes with Tom and with all of his classes you get out of it what you put into it. He's a very knowledgeable instructor who is easy to approach with any and all questions.
Tom knows the subject in both detail and how it interacts in the broader sense with IT. He has always taken time to answer questions even outside of class. He appears to enjoy teaching the subject and helping others to understand it.
Great teacher, he has all the answers for your questions. I like the text book it so helpful.
Great teacher
Great teacher. Helpful whenever needed
Tom is one of the most helpful instructors I have learned from. Just get your assignments done on time and you'll be just fine in his classes.
Tom Lee is very knowledgeable and helpful. He always got answers for all your quesions right away.
Tom is very knowledgeable and approachable.
Great professor! Will be taking him again.
Tom is fair. He gives a lot and expects a lot back.
The class was real informative
NSCOM221 was a good class, I wish they would offer an onsite class to get some hands on.
Liked the class even though it was totally online.
It all depends on the student, not the model of teaching. Some work better than others being independent where others need the instructor.
Tom knows his subject inside and out. He is courteous, fair and sometimes funny. He does have an inexplicable loyalty to LabSim TestOut which is really more of a busy work generator than leaning to or most students.
Great class
Decent prof with a sense of humor
Great Teacher. Very accomodating. Just do all assigned work and submit it on-time and you can't fail.
Tom is a great! He follows a course that's been made and outlined neatly by outside companies, so there isn't much interaction needed with him. If you do need help he is usually a 24/7 guy and on the ball. Once in a while he misses dates but always accommodates for them. He is a smart young guy, though still new to teaching and it sometimes shows.
Great Class, Went fast at times and if you missed an in class lab was difficult to make up. Otherwise great class.
I highly recommend this teacher as an instructor who his materials and stuffs he used were covered everything belong to this class and I wish him more of success
I highly recommend this teacher - as an instructor who his materials and stuffs he used were covered everything belong to this class and I wish him more of success
I find it very helpful to be in class and teacher Mr. Lee was awesome! Great teacher I must say...
This instructor knows his material very well. There hasn't been any stumpers that made him research answers. If you have problems, Tom is open to talk to ans is willing to help with your problem. I look forward in taking morew classes from Tom.
Great teacher. Willing to work with you on the side if you need extra help. Would recommend him to any student looking for a Networking Degree.
Teacher Presentation: The most valuable part with active participation Labs. Teacher Notes, Videos, Tips: Highly helpful Book Used: Very useful. Tool Used:TestOut videos can be improved by slowing down speech and having fluctuation when speaking.
Extremely helpful and knowledgable.
Passionate about the topic, and very informative.
cool class
Awesome and helpful teacher!
Tom is a geek. Rock on, geek on!
Great Teacher. Would recommend to everyone
Tom is passionate & enthusiastic about what he does. There is a lot of content to cover, so you can't miss a beat. Show up and do your work. He's always more than willing to help.
Tom is great.
Great teacher! Very clear on what is required and when it is due, gives lots of extra credit.
This instructor is very helpful and knowledgeable.
Great teacher. Have had him in many other classes. Do not hesitate to take courses from him. He is great.
Tom is a very good instructor that has plenty of industry experience that makes his class very enjoyable.
Tom’s class MUST be taken — the best NSCOM instructor BC has, highly recommended!!! Very inspiring, great motivator, challenge you for critical thinking! Love his teaching style, very interactive, extremely helpful outside of class. Read syllabus CAREFULLY — NEVER flexible on his due dates — I missed 60 points for 2 hrs. late assignment.
Tom was a great instructor. Easy to understand. The class has a fair amount of work, but if you go to class each weak, you will be fine.
Knows computers very well and shares knowledge that can be very helpful outside the classroom.
T. Lee is an excellent instructor. I like the fact that he can handle a classroom full of students ranging from neophyte to power user while elevating both. His coursework and instruction will definitely prepare you for IT workplace.
instructor is well informed and knowledgeable
Tom was very knowledgable.
His classes are easy to follow.
Good class
Tom did a great job teaching given the class was only 1 day a week. I would say show up or risk failing your labs, Most classes are covering these.
Tom is a great teacher!
tom was awsome he was extremely helpful as well
Tom was great
Tom's the REAL DEAL! Real life tech with superb teaching skills. Why couldn't I have had this guy for calculus....
An entertaining teacher full of enthusiasm. Really knowledgable. Enjoyed his class. Good for help outside the classroom.
Extremely knowledgable.
Tom is a great instructor who is well-organized, very knowledgeable and passionate about his subject matter. I know that I could have learned much more from the other networking classes I have taken if I was able to have Tom as an instructor. He sets the bar for instructors at Bellevue College.
Rock on, geek on!
Tom Lee is a great Professor with immense knowledge on the subject given any point of time.Really glad to attend his class which is like a knowledge house.
Awesome teacher, and presents a bit of great extra curricular material too
A very knowledgeable and fun teacher.
Great teacher. Make the class interesting
Tom is always a fantastic instructor for these classes. He has book knowledge and tons of work/personal experience which make him a valuable teacher.
I have taken Tom Lee for all of my NSCOM classes. He is a great teacher and highly recommend him for IT classes. He will work with you one on one outside of class if you need it. Rock on Geek on
Tom is the most helpful instructor I have ever had. Really enjoyed this class.
Awesome class!
As always, he provides good insight into his class. If you have any questions he is always quick to answer.
Tom is a fantastic teacher!! I've taken multiple classes with him and he always does a great job educating and making himself available.
As always Tom is one of the best instructors that I have had for technical classes. He is always readily available in class and outside of class, at all times, and is always helpful to answer class related questions or any industry question in general! Highly recommend taking any class with him!
Not a bad class.
Great teacher, very fun final project in the 227 class.
Overall, a good instructor. Not always the best at giving clear instructions, so pay close attention and ask him to clarify when you're confused (don't wait). Also, his classes start right on time and go until the very end, so if you're a person who comes in late or leaves early, you might miss a a lot of important stuff.
Loving IT more and more!
The classes get better and better...and they start making sense!
Very helpful, loved it
Tom handles the class well, and knows many things on many topics. A wealth of information.
Tom is friendly and quite knowledgeable about networking. His lectures are fast-paced, so make sure to keep up on the reading so you don't end up confused. Too bad he's not teaching NSCOM202 in the fall!
Tom's teaching style did not match my learning style. He goes over topics way too quickly and does not slow down even if you let him know you don't get it. I was frustrated during the whole class.
Tom is a great teacher. He always answers questions and will continue to answer in different ways to help you understand if it is unclear. Some reviews mention he is faced pace, but I think those students didn't have a firm foundational knowledge of the tech courses preceding this class and were struggling as a result.
Tom is a network geek and a crime-fighter. Good instructor too. Grades fair, helpful, straight-shooter. NSCOM201 covers lots of material in short amount of time. Those that struggled didn't seem prepared (foundational skills) to be in this class. Learned a lot from the class.
tom is such a great professor, he is so knowledgeable about every aspect of the Cisco and networking world. great great class, i highly recommend.
Tom is a very good instructor who wants his students to succeed above all else. He offers many opportunities for success and encourages his students to seek help if needed. Really no excuse to not do decent or well in his class with the time and resources he provides.
Tom has a deep understanding of the technical knowledge. He does a good job at presenting that knowledge through the course material. Room for improvement: Has difficulty engaging students beyond classroom lecture or individually to help them understand the concepts and theories. Many student wanted to learn hands on from a mentor not powerpointed
Hands down he knows his industry, he is progressive with his insight towards education, I respect his feedback.
Great teacher. One of the best at Bellevue College.
This professor REALLY loves his job, Out of all the tech classes I have taken by far the best representation of information and it was easy and fun to learn. Always cheery and ready to teach.
This professor is great. He answers emails right away. He definitely knows what he is doing. I would strongly recommend this class and professor, you won't be dissapointed. I wouldn't say it is an easy A but if you do all the work, you will get a good grade. That's all.
The field experience that he has is very helpful. Very knowledgeable about the material, and very helpful if you need help.
Tom knows exactly what he is doing. Would highly recommend!
Tom was a great professor. Clearly loves teaching this material and creating a fruitful learning environment. Would highly recommend any course he would teach.
Tom knows his stuff, and explains it well. He's approachable, challenges his students to figure out the problem, and provides coaching to help. He does a good job of pushing you to learn, not memorize.
Very knowledgeable and fun teacher, would and will take other classes from him in the future
He is enthusiastic about and knows the subject very well. He provided real world experiences to show how the subject is applied. He makes himself available during and after class. If you real want to learn this subject then do what it takes to get into his class.
Tom is great. Really intelligent in the IT world. I have had a couple classes with him. He is a great resource and seams to care about students development
Excellent instructor
Tom is a Great instructor he cares about his students and it shows. Learned a ton and he made it all seam easy with his masterful teaching skills.
Excellent Teacher. He really wants to make sure that you fully learn the concepts taught in the class.
Great teacher take CISCO from him!
One the best instructors at Bellevue College. Learning is the main focus grades are secondary.
Great teacher. Has fun with the class and does a lot to help you succeed.
awsome awsome teacher, tom knows his stuff and you will take so much away from this class
good class. Tom knows his stuff.
Knowledgeable and engaging lectures. Some times doesn't understand the question you ask and so be clear and restate. Dose not bite.
Great!
The instructor has a lot of knowledge and was able to respond to my questions and help me understand the material
*Hybrid-class* Job-preparation: Tom conveys to students the expectations his company sets for job consideration. Class: Lots of Test-Out. Informative lectures combined with team-projects. Highly enjoyable.
Hard work, but allot of help is offer by resources.
Recommend this professor to anyone.
Makes difficult subjects easier to understand and is willing to help if asked.
Recommend to anyone that wants a deeper understanding of any IT topic.
Incredible teacher, wish I could have him for all of my IT classes.
Great class, real world skills
Excellent instruction as always
Gives tons of extra credit. Great at explaining difficult concepts. I wish I could take more classes with him.
Good info well instructed
This is among the best teachers, he knows how to make you understand how networking works.
I learned and enjoyed the class. Tom was helpful and informative.
Very knowledgeable about all his subjects. Works with class to establish due dates. Accessible, advocates for students, is honest with feedback. Bellevue College is fortunate to have him.
Tom is great teacher, and person overall. He always makes sure every student understands concepts before moving on. Easy to talk to, fair, and very knowledgeable in all things IT. If you enjoy IT, I highly recommend Tom for any class.
Tom is a great teacher. He is always there to answer questions whether in class or offline. He also makes sure the entire class is ready to move on and checks to see if theres any questions. Tom also gives tons of extra credit and makes sure everyone knows when everything is due.
Very knowledgeable
Tom is an awesome teacher. I feel like I learned a lot from him. He is very knowledgeable. This class is a lot of hard work but it is worth it in the end. I wish that all of my teachers were as thorough as Tom when teaching their classes. He makes you do a lot of labs and hands on but I feel like I learn it better that way.
was a BOSS
Tom was a very knowledgeable teacher and always provided exercises and pratice that help expand your learning
He is an awesome teacher. You will have a lot of work to do in the class. He is very clear and straightforward about the material he teaches, and expects you to do the work by yourself. Also, he gives you great feedback that makes it easier to understand. However, if you want an A, then you have to work hard for it. You will learn a lot!
Tom is a fantastic professor. I've taken 4 or 5 of his networking classes and I always feel like I'm getting a great education from him. He knows the material and is about as good as it gets. Also really helpful with trying to figure out personal goals and career goals.
Tom is an amazing professor and truly wants you to succeed in your classes. He always confirms with the entire class in regards to due dates and always looks for feedback from his students about how he's running the class. However he is not an easy teacher. If you put in the required effort and attend class you will succeed, but you can't slack off
Tom is a good instructor - the class is challenging due to the amount of material being covered, so be prepared to be involved. Tom is available for help if you need it.
i like the class i took with tom. The class was helpful even with my bad English I got that stuff . just be prepped and give a little time and the class will be easy.
Tom is a great teacher! Sometimes he rushes though things too quickly, but that is the nature of these courses often times. He tries to make sure everyone is following along. Passionate about the subject matter. Believes in self-responsibility rather than micro-managing students, so you get what you put in to it. I always try to take his classes.
Decent teacher but gets side tracked very easily and will focus on topics that should not be focused on. As well he always rushes the last and sometimes the most important topics that you need for your final. If you don't learn tech fast you will fall behind in his classes and you will need to go ahead of the class to learn properly.
He is a tough grader and expects a lot of his students but also tries his best to make the class understand the concepts. Feel free to go up to him and say you are confused but be ready to explain yourself clearly. He wants to see you put in the effort. He can be very flexible with extending deadlines for the whole class if enough people are behind
Too much to learn
reminders to meet deadlines.
Tom, is a great tutor with a high level of IT exposure and experience. his classes are never tensed, hes funny and cares about his students. What i admire most is the his devotion to be in class every single time despite his tight schedule. I would be pleased to attend his class next quarter to gain more of what he has in store.
God professor he knows his class and try to show is how Cisco Certifications are going to expand our choices.
He's a good teacher, and gives good feed back
You can't questions Tom's mastery of the subject matter. However, his ability to teach, is questionable at best. Assignments are not returned timely and emails can take days to be responded to. Hi availability outside of class is also less than desirable. To pass, you go to dig in and do everything on your own. Tom provides no support/
Best professor till date, would like to pursue all future classes with him because he convey smooth transformation of knowledge.
best professor till date
The best way to describe tom is overrated. If you can at all avoid his classes, that would be my suggestion.
Arguably one of the best instructors I have ever had. I would highly suggest taking any and all classes you can from him. He is very passionate about the subject matter, and extremely knowledgeable. He is friendly and easy to approach. If you have any questions, be sure to ask. His courses are content heavy, but for a good reason.
Very Organized, helpful. A lot of practice on real equipment
This is not an easy class if you are truly trying to understand the networking world. Professor Tom is commitited to his students. You will learn 15% in class and the rest you must look elsewhere. If you are a students expecting to be spoon fed good luck. The college provides free subscriptions to Lynda. Make good use of your time
Tom is a great teacher and cares about his students.
If you're taking Tom for Networking, get ready! He is practically a walking textbook, and very knowledgeable- so ask lots of questions!! You'll probably feel nervous and overwhelmed, but that's because you're getting more than your money's worth in Education. Great Professor. Knowledgeable and kind. Take him, if you can.
Tom has two reputations. One for being the best IT instructor alive and the other for not. He has a mastery of the material, but he's not the most gifted communicator. Tom also has a reputation for not handing back homework, so if you plan to learn from your mistakes, that will end up being a post quarter activity. I would make him my 2nd choice.
He is the beast! he will teach you less and entertain you with his stories, but his entertainment will teach you more about information technology and networking. I mean real-life examples. For example, how UDP and TCP deliver packages, he will tell the path from here to his home like sending a package to his niece. from BC to airport to his home
You can't miss class! You will be so lost otherwise. He is actually very accessible through Teams and communicates well with the class regarding what is to be expected and meets us halfway. He is a tough grader but if you understand what he expects form you it's hard to not get a full score on assignments.
I think most of these reviews are fake I spent a lot of time and money only to listen this guy talk about himself he says he is a Leo and he says he used to put internet cable in the middle of the ocean he will ask you if you know where Orovile Washington or Omak, Washington Okanogan, Washington MY ADVICE RUN DONT LOOK BACK RUN FAR FAR AWAY
Tom is a great person and a compassionate educator who offers abundant resources for student success. However, his Canvas modules severely lack organization, making it extremely challenging trying to keep track of assignments.
The professor is very engaged and offers good resources, but the class requires consistent attendance and can be challenging. Unstuckstudy AI was a big help for staying on top of assignments and preparing for tests.
