he's funny, easily to relate to, helpful,, witty. He's the man with the plan
Very easy class. Honestly, I rarely went to class, hardly read the book - but got a 3.0 in the class. I'm sure I could have done better had I of tried. He gives out "study guides" that are basically the test. Memorize test questions for fina
He was funny and very helpful, his study guides make his tests and quizzes much easier!
He looks like Alex Trebek, is as smart as he is, and is funny. 'Nuff said.
Great teacher and a great guy.
You will love this class. did you take psych in high school? it will be exactly the same. he's funny and does in class examples of things. he is also willing to say insanely late after class just to help you, even if it means not getting home until 10
Teaches and treats students like it is high school. The other people rating must have paid closer attention to the chapter on drugs (they were smoking something). Bad! By the end you want holy water and to chant his name 3 times in order for him to disapp
I went to every class. His lectures were fun and enlightening, but are not directly related to the tests. I found that by reading each chapter once, doing all the only quizzes, and completing all the study guide problems was what prepared me best for his
the lectures really have nothing to do with the tests. just read the book. not the easiest entry level tests i have taken but it's still pretty easy.
He's one of the best professors that I have ever had. His lectures are entertaining and fun! He's very easy to talk to and he gives extra credit. The tests you have to study for but there not to bad. I highly recommend this class to everyone.
Good teacher. Lectures are interesting. Don't count on his lectures to help you with the test...you have to read the chapters for the tests. His extra credit really helps.
I highly recommend him, and I'm not even a pot-head. He was even nice to the stupid people.
Mr. Linden, You ROCK!!!
Lectures are interesting, but useless. Read the book. Tests are easy and he gives lots of extra credit.
I absolutely hated this class! It was one of the longest Thursday night classes that I have ever taken. I always left, because I could not take it anymore - thank god friends live close. His lectures have nothing to do with the tests, and I thought his tests were hard. I am very happy that I am done
Prof. Lindin is the best teacher i ever had, he is witty and finds ways to entertain you even though its the longest class. Just read the book, take good notes, and make sure u know ur vocab
Yea lectures were useless and i never even studied from his lecture book he usually disscusses nothing to do with the material on the tests... just read the book n do the study guide and u will get atleast a 3.5... also alot of the study guide questions were on the test n on the quizzes
Horrid, taught like it was a high school class.
professor is an idiot who has a massive superiority complex. it's obvious to me that he would be better off seeking help from a psychologist himself rather than teaching classes in the field.
Dr. Linden - you are an inspiring teacher and I was priviledged to sit in your lectures. They were so great and so right on with the material. You are an excellent excellent teacher = two thumbs up.
great teacher, very ethical
Professor Linden makes a PSY night class very interesting. If you have to take Psychology 100, take it with him. The only bad thing about the class is reading the modules, but you have to do that with every PSY 100 course. He is very nice and doesn't teach from the book so its not so boring.
He is such a sweet man. always will to help and get to class an hour early to help with questions. the online quizzes are difficult, but everything is in the book. make sure to really study the study guide book before exams. (everything is in there!!!) really good teacher and knows what he is talking about.
He is a good guy, always trying to make the class more fun with humor. Make sure to take HIS Notes from class, read the book and you can do well. It's a lot of information so do the WORK!
Definately a great professor. His lectures are extremely interesting, and the class is very easy as long as you read and do the work.
He's fun, he makes jokes which makes the time go by faster and he's thorough enough that u don't have o get a book but it's reccommended.
he's generally a nice guy, and his tests were easy and straight from the book, but he expressed frustration when asked questions, and is very pompous. he does give extra credit oppurtunities also.
I am taking him for adol psych right now and though he is a nice guy and makes the class fun, he has a good sense of humor, he is forgetful and very inconsistent. Most of the class gets frustrated on a regular basis bc he changes his mind about everything all the time. I don't know whether or not to recommend..
A great prof. Lectures were entertaining and kept my attention the entire class time (not an easy task...). Online quizzes can be a little tough but most of the exam questions come from them. Make sure you show up and take HIS notes, because they vary quite a bit from the book. I would highly recommend him for any psych class.
The best psychology teacher ever! The exams were very easy if you read the study guide book. He's very clear on what he wants from his students
If you go to class, take notes, and read the text this class is pretty easy. If you get the study it helps a lot because test questions come from it. Linden was okay but I think pretty much anyone could have taught this class. There was nothing special about him.
This class is incrediblely easy if you just read the book. I hardly ever went to lecture and I got A's on all the exams. Exam questions come directly from quizes, study guide questions and in class review questions.
Linden is not consistent in anything he says or does. Cannot ever seem to get through the lectures, and assigns the rest for homework. APA papers, of which he is overly critical. The tests are all test bank multiple choice, and the lectures really don't help for the test. He hates when you ask questions too. Do not recommend.
Class was relativly easy, go to class and take notes, don't even need to really read the book. The i-clicker thing was a little annoying, but overall he is a great professor, def. recomend to anyone. He has some great examples and demonstrations...
he sucks, lectures dont help, expects alot, especially with APA papers. If you dont know how write them you will get poor grades no matter how hard you try. It seems like he blames students for everything rather than thinking its his teaching ability. He does give outlines that help though but the papers will pull your grade down
Linden's lectures have nothing to do with the tests. The tests are all test bank questions. There are 3 papers which he grades like they are graduate papers. Almost seems annoyed when students ask questions. Is not clear about directions on anything. Changes his mind about things and then he forgets that he did so. Do not reccomend.
Very good professor. You won't fall asleep even if it is a night class, unless of course you were on campus for 10 hours prior to the class. Three tests and one final. A bit challenging but read the text and you'll be fine. Offers extracredit. Limited homework.
Linden is def. a good professor. Has some very fun and interesting demos. The iclicker thing was pretty neat, since we got points for answering the questins. Didn't really ever read the book, but the book of notes that he has you buy are definitly a MUST... Great prof., I def would take him again... :)
The class was pretty easy. I definitely recommend going and taking notes. I barely read and got B's on all the tests because I studied his notes. And also study the online quizes because many test questions come from them.
Linden's 100 class is the same as the psych class he used to teach at Eisenhower High School. That should give you an idea of how easy it is. The lectures are all completely outlined in the course pack. Study the online quizzes and your notes, and you'll be fine. He's an enjoyable and engaging prof.
i loved this class. interesting and simple.
Great professor! Class is easy if you read the texbook and do practice test.
Professor Linden knows what he's talking about, and PSY 100 was an enjoyable class. I especially liked the way he was able to relate everything to everyday life, and experiences, making it easier to remember test material.
Professor Linden is an easy and nice professor. His PSY 100 class is very easy as long as you read the chapters at least once and study the vocabulary. It's an easy A if you just put in a little effort. He's very funny so the lecture is always enjoyable.
Very fun professor to have. Always wants people to be involved in class whether it's volunteering yourself for a demonstration, or just answering a question. His exams aren't that hard, but do double check what you answered because some of his questions can be decieving.
Great Professor, I defiantly recommend him!! He makes lecture interesting and fun. His exams are pretty easy, but make sure you flip through your notes and the book first. i-clicker quizzes were actually kinda fun except you don't know when he's goin to give them so you have to go to class!! Take him!!
Very good teacher! Knows what he is talking about and presents material clearly and conscisely. Gives 20 pts. extra credit, 5 tests and final exam. Pretty easy class, helps to read textbook, lectures are very intersting. Random I clicker quizzes get annoying, but he encourages you to ask anyone around you for the answers iclicker is 5% of grade
Very very very interesting professor. He makes lectures so fun! He is very nice and gives extra credit but you still have to study! and dont miss any classes-iclicker quizes. just study questions from the book, online quizes and study guide, and read your notes and you'll be fine! : ) I would take his class all over again!: )
He's a good lecturer. If you keep up on the reading, that's plenty to succeed in this class. His clicker quiz questions are similar to exams, so they really help your grade a lot, and make you happy when they show up again :D
Very arrogant. I did not enjoy listening to him. Can be rude. Boring at times. Would choose another teacher if possible!
This class was pointless to attend besides for the iclicker quizzes because what he talks about is nothing like what the test asks. if you do the study guide then that is the best preparation for the exams. i asked him a question one time and he was NO help and was even rude. he seems nice though-just dont ask him for anything.
Class was dull, the only reason to go was the quizzes. Those questions tend to reappear. Tests weren't horrible. The study guide was no fun/no help. He seemed nice, got annoyed with some people in the class though.
I had Linden for both psy 100 and 225, and I wish he taught more psy classes. He is great! I loved his examples and he tests were average. Not too hard, but not the easiest things ever... You have to study a bit, the study guide helps a lot and is required. You actually turn it in for a grade at the end. Great professor, take him if you can!
not hard but not easy. you'll need to study some. iclicker quizzes and online quizzes. tests were average. he explains things well. but whenever someone asks questions he answers with attitude. kind of rude sometimes, but a LOT easier than other psych teachers i've had, and i'm a psych major.
He is a good teacher, very enthusiastic and makes everything easy to understand. The class is not difficult if you read/study. DO SHOW UP to take clicker quizzes (those are test questions sometimes). BE WARE if you are a good looking female, he can be creepy sometimes.
Classes are boring..especially if you take it as a night class once a week. He is a good professor though, exams are moderately easy if you put the effort in.
this teacher is not very helpful when you ask a question he is very rude i would not recommend taking this class with other hard classes because you have to study alot and ge doesn't curve his tests.
His voice keeps you interested. You can get bored!
Unprofessional and extremely rude. Does not curve exams. His lectures have nothing to do with the exams. Unfortunately,I know more about his daughter and wife, than I do about psych. Choose a diff. prof because this guy is a complete joke. Refuses to tell you your grade and gets frustrated when you ask questions. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
He's very enthusiastic and holds your interest- I probably wouldn't have survived the morning class with a different prof. Definitely show up for class for i-clicker quizzes, some of the questions from those and the online quizzes are on the exam. Overall not a super hard class, study/read and you'll be fine!
Linden a good professor. hes clear (most of the time). just listen carefully in his class in a way that you never have to go ask a question! and if you have one, ask in front of the whole class. hes so mean and treats you like an idiot if you talk to him in person. he doest care and never makes eye contact!
Linden is def not the greatest prof. He can be really rude when you want to ask a question and his lectures are basically useless because the test questions come straight from the book and online quizzes, but you have to go to class for the I-clicker quizzes. I thought he could have been a bit more informative. Hes better than the other profs thoug
I'm kind of iffy about this professor. It wasn't a bad class, but it wasn't very interesting, and it was a big work load. However if you kept up on the work, and used the study guide in the text book, tests were manageable. A harmless class to take if you can make the effort.
His lectures are always really interesting, but nothing from them comes up on his tests. iclicker quizzes are based off his lectures though and arent hard. I really enjoy this class but you definitly have to put effort into it to get a good grade!
Loved the class. Linden made class enjoyable and interesting. He really really knows his stuff. The tests aren't bad either. All you have to do for the exams is know the iClicker and online quiz questions, in addition to knowing most of your notes in yellow book. The final is kinda tough though. I definitely recommend taking him.
GREATTT teacher take him !!! very interesting and makes you actually feel like going to class...the class was always full ! ..he doesnt take attendence either you can also just study from your yellow book !
ok class. Lecture not mandatory however you take iclicker quizes. Can be boring to listen to but if you do the outline and the extra credit study book you can easily do well. Linden is a jerk though so dont ask him any questions!
Very non-personal atmosphere
Interesting class. HARD TESTS!! I studied regualarly, but tests always threw me for a loop. A 3.0 is achievable, but youd better be working extremely hard for anything higher. Attendance isnt taken, but iClicker quizzes are regular, and can help your grade. Good class all around, but hard tests. Professor is very impersonal, but willing to help.
Good teacher. Keeps things interesting. Grading scale is good. I got a 3.5 and studied maybe 2 hours a week but paid attention in class. I-clicker questions and quiz questions are what you can expect on tests. My only complaint was that I thought he went a little slow on some days. Would recommend this teacher.
Worse class I've ever taken. He is so rude, if you e-mail him a question he responds with "I've already discussed this in class." You have to go to every class to take the clicker quizzes which are at the end of class. I would not recommend him to anyone.
Makes lectures interesting and easy to listen to. exams are a little tricky. but overall not very hard.
This professor made class very fun. He offered tons of extra credit assignments, we didn't have to write any essays, and there were lots of opportunities to earn extra points. Tests are fairly easy as long as you study and attend class.
He's a nice guy. Only teaches the class one night a week. So it's long. Definitely pay attention and attend class. Tries to have a clicker quiz every class. Do the extra credit book, easy points and a good way to study.
Good teacher, explains things well, hard if you dont pay attention or show up, but if you do the class is pretty easy
He was awesome! I highly recommend Linden. I learned a lot without having a ridiculous amount of busywork. If you study and show up for most of the classes you will be fine. If you pay attention, you will do well AND you will catch the funny stuff that he says during class.
Linded is such a G. His lectures are very interesting and pretty funny. Just read the book, and pay attention in class. The tests aren't very hard. I highly recommend him.
I love psychology! However, I don't like this teacher at all. I studied hard for the tests, I don't like that there worth 70% of my grade. I will still keep taking psychology because I love it, however, I never want to take this class again. It sucks.
Possibly the best teacher I have ever had. The exams are like a reward if you read the textbook which in of itself is the BEST textbook. Reads like a conversation. If you aren't willing to do your part (read) you won't do good but if you do its very easy to get a great grade.
Pretty good professor. Loves to talk about sex. His lectures are pretty easy to absorb and pay attention, however there is a lot of material in the book he doesn't cover that is on the exams, so you have to read the book. Gives a little extra credit, however he has no sympathy for students doing poorly. He is there to lecture & thats it.
Linden is an awesome teacher. his yellow book that he has you buy at the beginning of the semester is a HUGE help. the first time i took this class with a different teacher i got a 2.0, with linden i EASILY achieved a 3.4. his online quizzes and iclickers definitely help boost grades. take him!
This class was pretty easy, just read the book and do the few assignments & extra credit he gives. Used the book and online supplement to study for tests and it was pretty straightforward.
A bit boring but knows his stuff.
for any psych course, take lindon. i did not have the book and i have an A in the class. go to every class period, take the notes (which he gives an outline) pay attention and anyone would do great. he is very nice and provides a lot of material to help you learn better. TAKE HIM
He is a jerk. Not approachable. Doesn't accept that he could make mistakes - even when proven to. Not very helpful. Says he won't use certain material for exams and then ends up doing.
He's decent, although, seemed to change his exam method/style without warning and where you didnt have to read certain material before, he now adds in questions based on the textbook - which is impossible to read word for word - far too much and the study guide wasnt great either, there were major mistakes in it. But not the worst I've had.
Notes are given in an outline form and are very easy to follow. However, professor is unapproachable. Refuses to answer emails, even regarding the final exam! The exam "review" was useless. Expects you to know the entire book even though his notes contain different material. Good teacher but beware of the final exam worth 20% of your grade.
Enjoyed this class very much. I found him very approachable and gave good lectures. Take good notes and following along. Also come to every class for the clicker quizzes. They add up.
He's the reason why I changed majors. He's very full of himself, confusing, comes to class late, unmotivated, selfish, could care less about how his students do, and etc. He should teach what's on the exams. I hate how the i-clicker exams were at the end of class. The books were really expensive.
Linden is a good teacher. He's clear, gives extra credit, grades on a curve, exams are easy if you know your stuff, etc. You should go to class because of the random iClicker quizzes, and you should read the textbook. He's not approachable but that didn't really bother me. I changed my major to psych after his class
His class is fun and funny but he talks forever
He is a really nice guy and he knows his stuff. Some of his wording is a little confusing but if you read the book you'll understand it. Read the sections before class so you know what is going on, making it easier. A lot of studying is involved.
I really liked having him as a professor. He pretty much made it our responsibility to do the work and put forth the effort, which I like. He gives extra credit and his lectures are interesting. His i-clicker and online quizzes are tough though so just study and you'll be okay
I really enjoyed his class, I have missed a lot of classes (at least 1 if not 2 every week) for personal/health reasons & I'm doing a pretty good job in the class. I'm sure if you attend every class, you could pass with ease. He gives a book that outlines everything he'll go over. He makes jokes & has iClicker tests along with quizzes online.
If you want to get A-B's on the exams, you need to do the practice quizzes and read the chapters. The exams are very simple if you do those two things
Linden keeps you interested, and he knows his stuff. He has an outline for you that you can follow along during his class, and you can just fill it out, and memorize it. You need to read portions of the chapter, focus on main ideas. He can make you feel stupid sometimes, and he does not like when students e-mail him questions.
He has all your notes outlined for you to fill in, which makes taking notes easier to actually listen to what he says. His i-clicker and online quizzes are sometimes tricky but really add up. He's pretty clear on his notes. He does offer extra credit a few times. Do the extra credit, go to class, read the book, and you'll do fine.
Super easy teacher! He doesn't require you go to class but has iclicker quizzes frequently. i usually slept through class and was still able to get 90-100% on every quiz. hes very funny and even offer extra credit. TAKE HIM!
The best psychology professor at Oakland! very easy exams and quizzes just read the book and go to class for his lectures which he provides an outline.
He is an awesome psychology teacher totally willing to help you and make sure you pass his class. Make sure to read the material.
He is very helpful and pretty funny, tries to keep the class involved with lots of participation. Gives lots of examples and always makes sure the class knows what is expected!
I found him to be somewhat rude to be honest, he is interesting and seems to be smart but not very nice. I'd have to say that I wouldn't take him again.
I would definitely recommend Linden. Notes are very easy in class, he follows directly off a handout. Very easy. Tests are not too bad, basically straight off notes. I laugh a lot in Lindens class! He is very funny, not just his jokes, but also just by some of the weird stuff that he says! I would definitely recommend professor Linden.
Great professor. Really cares about the material he is teaching. A little insensitive, but makes class fun. Also seems to reference male genitalia a lot... but i would recommend him to anyone asking bout Linden.
Linden is very passionate about this class. Lectures can get a bit dry but he tries to start discussions to get things moving. His organization of the class was amazing, most organized professor I have ever had. Essays were explained clearly and he is more than willing to help with editing and proofreading. Overall he was a really nice guy.
I really enjoyed taking this course with Professor Linden. He was extremely helpful and approachable. He's very strict on the writing assignments, but he's willing to assist you during office hours. Personally, he improved my writing skills. Come to class, take good notes, and you'll do just fine!
Without question, the best professor you can take for a PSY 100 class at OU. I'm a psych major and the 200/300 levels are cake compared to 100. (It's because you're learning EVERYTHING all at once & it's a lot to take in.) Based on my experience, I highly recommend him.
Linden is a VERY good professor. He is there to help when you need him. Though to pass you must pay attention and read the chapters that are assigned. He also makes the subject interesting.
AWESOME professor! I'm taking this course over the summer (and although it is much faster paced than during the regular school year) Linden does a great job of teaching this class. Definitely recommend.
Very good professor. Suggest that you take him. He is really good at teaching the material and if you are in class and read the book, you'll do just fine. Tests are fairly easy. Great class, great teacher.
Moves very fast, does not cover all of the material expected. Must study independently. Hard to approach due to large class sizes.
Great teacher! Knows his stuff for sure! Buy the outline packet!! Take notes, follow along, go to class. Study! He won't cover everything on the test so the book will be helpful. The workbook is helpful also i would reccomend buying it! He offers extra credit. Clicker quizzes are easy a's if u sit by smart people.
Linden is awesome!! He's a funny guy and seems like such a genuinly nice person. He keeps things interesting and relevant. Tests are sort of hard but if u study and take notes you will be fine! I'd recommend him to everyone!
Linden has been the only professor I've liked at OU so far. He's worldly, he's funny, he's interesting, he's not good with names but he clearly enjoys getting to know his students. Great professor.
Great class, learned a lot. Very clear and organized with lectures, he provides you with everything you need to get a good grade. Be sure to read the book and I recommend to buy the study guide that goes along with the book. Put the time in and theres no reason that you shouldn't get a good grade!
He was so-so. Tests are not hard but he doesn't curve. Must read book. Must attend class for i-clicker quizzes. In the beginning of the semester everyone, including Linden, had trouble working the i-clicker so sometimes people would miss problems just because of technical difficulties and we had to figure out what was wrong with it on our own.
It's easy to get a B or C in this class but not an A. Linden doesn't know what he wants from the papers. I let him read my first attempt of a paper and he thinks it's c- material. I change 3 sentences and it's amazing but I can't get an A because it's my second attempt at the paper. All my other profs give me consistent As on papers. Easy tests
Good lectures, useful note packet. Some material is not covered in class and is just in the textbook. Clicker quizzes are super-helpful- if you attend lectures and read the textbook you'll be fine. Overall I'd recommend him.
Really straightforward class. Linden is one of the best professors to take this course. Go to class read the book, take notes, and you should be fine for the iClicker quizzes as well as the exams. Exams were very straightforward. Offers up to 4% of EC. Definitely buy his note packet, very useful. Awesome professor, would take him again!
If you attend lecture, take all the notes (which are basically straight from the book), do the extra credit he offers and study and know all the info you can get an A. However, I was not a big fan of him. He made jokes that he thought were funny but they were rude and if you ask him anything he thinks he is better than you.
One of the best professors that I've ever had! I had this class at 8am and he made the class enjoyable. A majority of his exams are from his note packet and the book was barely used. Class is not mandatory, however there are iclicker questions and clicker exams throughout some class periods.
He breaks up his lectures and makes jokes to keep everyone awake. Make sure to get his coursepack because it outlines exactly what he lectures about and has some extra activities in it. Interesting class, good professor.
Loved Prof Linden! His lectures are fun to be in, he breaks them up and gives lots of examples and studies to clarify things. He loves talking about sports and always has a funny closing remark. It is obvious he loves his job. His tests can be tough but if you study you should be fine. I would absolutely take him again
Has all dates set for when everything is due. Goes into his lectures very well. You still need to read the book or the best you can hope for is a C without reading it.
He makes the lectures interesting and funny. His quizzes that he has online are sometimes the same questions that are on his tests. The tests can sometimes be tricky, but if you study you will be fine. He does iClicker questions at the end of every chapter lecture so attendance is pretty mandatory.
nice professor; he will make you want to major in psy; has his own notebook so you can buy or print it out and if you dont go to class you will miss the notes; online quizzes, study them cuz they will be on the exams; 5 extra credit papers;
Great professor!!!! absolutely loved this class! everything you need to know he goes over in class, and he uses questions from the online quizes on tests! gives up to 20 extra credit points! strongly recommend.
If you read his notes and read the book, you'll easily pass all exams because exam questions are straight from the book. The bad thing about this class in the required 8 credits of psychology research required by the psychology department and they are mandatory to pass the class. Clear lectures, very nice teacher, and also his jokes are funny!
Great professor! sometimes exams were tricky but never too hard if you read the book and go to class. He always answers questions and his lectures are very interesting and beneficial! I would totally take him again!
I think Dr. Linden is a must have professor. He doesn't teach every semester and if you can, wait for him. I have never been bored during a lecture and it is one class I never want to miss. He gives extra credit, I find him very funny most of the time and he wants you to succeed!
Great professor! Definitely take him if you can! Very interesting lectures. You will do fine if you keep on top of readings and show up to class for the clicker quizzes.
His lectures are very informative but also interesting. I loved this class and would take it again in a heartbeat.
Doctor Linden is a great professor. He tells you exactly what needs to be done and it is up to you to do it. His lectures are great and makes the info really easy to understand. He says he is going to do something and does it which I think is very important. He knows what he is talking about and he cares that you understand it too. Def take him!
Professor Linden was an excellent professor. He was available outside of class almost whenever you needed him to be. He made it clear what he expected of you. Lectures matter in this class so show up. Please. I skipped my fair share which caused me to get a worse grade than I could have earned. Tests are pretty decent but they are based off lecture
Good Professor and amazing lectures!
Great guy to have as a prof!! Easy class to pass if you go to lectures and pay attention. Notes are outlined for you to take so it's super easy to follow along! iClicker quizzes happen in class and you need to be there for them but its quite easy to predict when they happen so technically attendance isn't mandatory but it makes things simple.
Really funny, knowledgeable and easy-going guy. You can tell he's really passionate about Psychology, and he's really good at lecturing in such a way that captivates his students. DEFINITELY take advantage of the extra credit he offers, all of it! It brought my grade from 95% to 99% - a 3.7 to a 4.0!
Linden is very funny and his lectures are interesting. He assigns a fair amount of homework, but he grades them pretty harshly. He also loves to assign "home reads" for parts of the chapters so read the textbook religiously. His exams are pretty hard, and require critical thinking and an understanding instead of just memorization of definitions.
I will just say that I wish all the perofessors was like him
He's very knowledgeable about the information of the class, and explains well with examples. I found it very easy to understand the concepts and information in this class from the lectures. Come to class it helps! He gives lots of extra credit opportunities too which is nice. Respectable guy
Graded the HW very subjectively. Online quizzes were very hard & covered info not in the book. Lots of extra credit opportunities. Easy in-class clicker quizzes & you get to discuss the answers before you submit them. Good examples. But never finishes covering the material in class. Tests were pretty easy if you studied.
Prof. Linden has iClicker quizzes once a chapter. He's a funny guy, and his lectures are engaging. The only thing I don't like is he doesn't take questions during lecture, and if he does, he often makes you feel dumb for asking. But he thoroughly explains things, and he makes psychology really interesting and applicative
Prof. Linden is probably the funniest professor I've ever had. His lectures are great, which makes it easy to want to go to class (which is basically a must). He goes over most everything in class and gives real-world examples, but he does assign readings from the book. The book is easy to understand, though, and the workload isn't bad at all
Very confusing, there is no direction in his class. We had several papers and he did not even have a solid rubric for the papers. When you ask him a question he is very arrogant and talks down to you. I wouldn't waste your time to be honest.
Go to the lectures. They are mostly interesting. Gives extra credit. Easy tests. Helps you understand material by applying it to your lives. Papers, but he is a very easy grader.
Linden doesn't use any powerpoints when he lectures. He tends to miss a lot of topics because if this. He makes template for notes, but doesn't give you all the information to fill it out and half the time when I leave class my notes are blank in many many spaces. Reading the book is very important because he barely teaches the material.
The only thing Linden is good at is cramming all of the information for one exam into one lecture, and then expecting students to pass. Very rude and condescending. Never willing to help or answer questions. Asks for constructive criticism, but then argues back.
The only thing Linden is good at is everything (outlines for lectures, extra credit, gives many great examples and much more) for ALL exams. And WANTS his students to pass and succeed. Very nice, caring and respectful. Always willing to help and answer questions. Asks for feedback from students to make positive changes in class, NEVER argues back.
Linden is a great professor. He's very engaging, and he makes his lectures applicable to your life and your career. He's funny and the subject material is interesting. He can be quirky, but that makes class a little more interesting at 8 am. His exams are very fair, and he designs the class for success. Solid choice for a professor :)
Amazing prof. Lecture style class, and he makes outlines for notes. He doesn't go off any powerpoint though, so you have to go to class to understand the material. Very clear with what items will be on exams. Exams are easy if you study. Lots of online assignments and one iclicker quiz per chapter. Extra Credit, and he curves the exams a few points
Not a difficult class, attendance isn't mandatory. Probably could've taught myself if necessary. He uses many examples which is nice, but is very condescending. After our first exam, when grades were somewhat low, he asked for recommendations on what to change about the learning structure. Every helpful student suggestion was forcefully denied.
Offers a lot of extra credit, wants you to pass. He is very knowledgable but reading the book was helpful because lectures aren't always enough. 10/10 would take again!
absolutely terrible. would not recommend. is rude and helpless. I am a 4.0 student and find that his teaching style is NOT effective. he is no help for students. FIND A DIFFERENT PROF
Good professor, clearly an expert.
Fantastic professor! Reason why I changed my major to psychology! Made class enjoyable! Attendence is not mandatory but highly recommend it! Skip more than two classes, you will not pass
BEST professor I've had. He is absolutely adorable. He really knows what he's talking about when he lectures us. He gives us the assignments ahead of time. For each chapter we have a 10Q. quiz on the last day of lecture. If you do the assignments and pay attention you'll get an a. He also makes u do research participations for a grade
I enjoyed the lectures but somewhat struggled on his exams. They were sort of challenging even though I really understood the material. There is a LOT of extra credit and the iClicker is a free easy 10 points. He is a very kind person and is super easy to approach.
Keeps class interesting. Simple material, but tests are a little hard to ace. Very clear delivery of information and grading
The material itself isn't difficult. Lectures explain basic concepts with examples. Tests expand concepts so read the textbook to better understand unfamiliar topics. Connects with students for examples, even in a 200+ person lecture hall- which keeps things interesting. Definitely recommend.
Professor Linden was one of the best professors I've ever taken. His lectures were very well done and he used lots of examples with the concepts in order for us to get a better idea of the material. He provides extra credit opportunities to boost your grade. Such a funny guy and a great professor!
He was a very good professor. He tends to get off track a lot during lecture so if youre looking for a fast paced lecture he probably isnt the professor for you
Professor Linden is a solid choice for psychology! The tests are worded a bit weird but if you studied enough you should have no major issues! I would recommend reading the book because I found his lectures didnt cover all the material. He offers a ton of extra credit!! At the end of each chapter there is a clicker quiz and a homework sheet due.
This was one of the worst professors I have ever had due alone to how rude he was to students when they asked him questions individually. I once asked him a question about how one of the test questions was worded, and he essentially told me I was an idiot for even questioning that answer yet provided no help or constructive advice. Avoid.
Lectures most of class but gives outlines to guide you. I-clicker quizzes before every test. The exams are pretty straightforward but a few random questions will appear that have not been discussed in class. He offers lots of extra credit which can give you a 5% boost!
A good Psy 100 teacher but not a good Psy 225 teacher. We barely get through chapters on time and then have to cram all the information in one lecture before the tests. There are iClicker quizzes at the end of the chapter but for some reason there are problems with iClicker and it won't record your grade and he says you get a zero. Not fair at all
Need to go to lecture, he talks through the whole semester, there is no slideshows online. If you go to class and listen, he gives good examples and many questions that are on the test were discussed in his lecture. the i clicker quiz is helpful and easy points. Do the 5% extra credit on launchpad. homework is minimal and reading the book helps.
I've taken Linden for both Psy1000 and now Psy2250. For 2250, it's honestly so easy. Attendance only mandatory on days we take an iclicker but other than that, the exams are entirely from the textbook so you can just read that. Offers 5% worth of extra credit which is helpful. A nice man with clear grading scales, would take him again
Linden is a great professor but his exams are difficult. He never uses powerpoint so you have to show up every lecture to take notes. Has clicker questions so show up to class.
He is a hard professor, anyone who disagrees must be good at guessing on exams. When taking his exams, there are always two answers that are the same so you don't know which to pick. He doesn't give powerpoints. He just lectures the entire time about stuff that is opposite from what is on the exam. You must teach everything yourself. Bad experience
Lectures were very very long, he went on with stories that lasted 30 minutes long and we would get no where in notes because of the stories. He doesnt negotiate with grades even if youre only one percent away from a 4.0 in that class.
Took this professor because I read the comments on rate my professor, I was scammed. Psychology is supposed to be an easy 4.0 but not with this professor.
Although he didn't use powerpoint for notes, his lectures are very easy to understand. He gives great examples that help retain the information. Those examples also showed up on tests. Iclicker questions are very easy as well, you get to talk to classmates before you submit your answers. Overall, great easy teacher if you pay attention In class.
I suggest you pick a different professor for Psych 1000. Exams were very difficult and unless you made this your class you #1 priority you won't be able to get an A. I am a 4.0 student and still struggled.
He lectures through the entire class without many visuals, so if you're not good at learning by just listening the class will be harder. You have to purchase an online access and an iclicker and bring in your own answer sheets, so his class isn't financially forgiving.
Professor Linden is great! His lectures, syllabus and expectations are straight forward. He is willing to work with students. I highly recommend taking one of his courses.
Dr. Linden is such a kindhearted professor! His lectures are interesting because he gives good examples. His exams are easy if you went to lecture and took notes!! The iclicker quizzes are easy for points. Such a laid back class! if you study and come to lecture youll be fine
If psychology is your #1 focus, then this professor will be great. However, people who are in a Biology major DO NOT TAKE PROF. LINDEN'S CLASS! Since i'm majoring in Bio, I don't have the time to read the chapters. The exam is not written by him so you have to read the textbook. I really do wish I never took his class because it dropped my GPA.
Dr. Linden is a nice person and is respectful. However, he is not technically the best teacher, but also not the worst. He does lecture, but points most of his expectations towards the book. Also, sometimes his tests do not correlate with what we have learned during his lectures, but he does offer much extra credit. Doesn't gives anything to review
It seems like you get the same scores no matter how hard you study. He tells us "You don't have to read the book, if you want to settle for a C". His exams are not the same as his lectures or the textbook. The outline is practically useless. Learning curve is useless. Preparing for his test is extremely difficult. He doesn't show u your test result
I played mariokart during the lectures, and still passed with a 4.0. His tests were not as difficult as I was led on to believe. I disliked how there were not powerpoint notes and how stressful the iclicker quizzes were. However, Dr. Linden is a very respectable professor and I would recommend him to a friend.
All these people dont know what theyre talking about. Professor Linden is great and his class is easy if you apply yourself. Take this class, come to lecture, and write down his examples in your notes! Its not that hard. Also he told the class it was application based exams... just read the examples to study.
Dr. Linden is a very fair professor overall. His class is basically an easy A if you go to his lectures, take notes, and make note of his examples given in class. The online homework was very easy and he offers a lot of easy extra credit. His lectures aren't boring, but he does go on tangents a lot (they are funny). Take his class for easy credit.
The tests are the most difficult part of this class. Lectures are easy to understand and enjoyable, and there is an opportunity for a 5% grade boost with extra credit. Study hard for your tests and you will do well, Professor Linden made this Psychology class extremely interesting!
Very informational class! Lots of homework and quizzes! All exams are multiple choice but questions are somewhat difficult.
LOVE LOVE LOVE! Linden is by far my favorite professor at OU. Extremely caring and hilarious. He's always making connections back to students (things we would actually understand). Not sure how he is with smaller classes but large classes are nonmandatory attendance and little participation. Definitely a class for us introverts! TAKE HIM!
In order to do well in Dr. Linden's class, you must read the book like it is the Bible. You don't even need to attend the lectures, just read the book.
Professor Linden was very nice; however, his exams are hard A*. I talked with my friends who had psy. 100 and their class was the complete opposite (easy A pretty much). You actually need to work and pay attention, but as said before, even if you do study really really hard, you will end up with a B+ like me. Good thing about his class is the 5%EC
Dr. Linden is amazing! I took development psych as a PA pre-requisite course and I really enjoyed his class! Lectures were lengthy but very interesting. Great examples to make the material stick. Easy HMWK per chapter, textbook needed for XC/a few test questions. DO THE XC! Listen to the lectures, take notes on his outlines and you will have a 4.0!
Extremely difficult class. The exams are nothing like lecture
Dr. Linden was a very nice professor, he seemed to both genuinely enjoy what he was teaching and was trying his best to adapt to online courses. The exams were difficult if you don't prepare. Lectures were long but enjoyable. Ec is optional for a grade boost.
The lecture has nothing to do with the homework or the notes in the class, he gives you notes outlines but makes you do it. Good luck on the exams because it has nothing to deal with the lecture.
Professor Linden lectures heavy but they are usually enjoyable. The work load is light but the tests are hard if you don't study.
Dr. Linden was an amazing professor, he is straight forward with how youre graded and the workload is light, if you fail thats your fault. You can use the textbook, but I'd recommend just buying launchpad. He's very laid back, likes to have fun with his students, and he doesn't take attendance. He's one of the best teachers I've ever had.
I did not enjoy taking this course with Professor Linden. The lectures were very long and boring and much of what he said during them weren't actually on the test. The book will be your best friend for this course. The only positive was that the tests were online. Try to find another Professor for Intro to Psychology if possible
It is an easy A class. He is very liberal. He gives the outline for every unit. The quizzes are based on the outlines and the applications. The homework is also easy. 5% worth extra credit.
I loved this class and the professor. It is an easy A if you pay attention and do the work. This class consists of quizzes and a few exams. Make sure you do all the quizzes and pay attention and you will do good on exams. Very easy and interesting. He is a great teacher and the lectures were actually enjoyable.
He will not care if your failing, Quizzes every week and 4 exams , a tough grader
