Wow. This class could have been cool. He obviously knows his subject and you learn a lot from his lectures. UNFORTUNATELY, his tests DO NOT cover the lecture material!! Some of the test questions do not even have a correct answer. He also is not open to reviewing these questions. Avoid him at all costs if you care about your GPA.

His online class is unorganized and contradicts its self. He was not available to answer questions proptly. His lectures video taped lectures are 8 years old.
If you take notes on the DVDs and read the text carefully you'll have no problems in this class. It is frustrating that the lectures are so old, but the text is relatively new. If you aren't self-disciplined or not willing to buy the materials don't take this class! He's not going to baby you through it. Go to orientation.
He's a fairly good professor. His online tests are straightforward and come directly from either his lectures, his notes, or the reading. There are only a few application problems such as the essay and such. I'd recommend taking the practice quizzes multiple times because a few of the questions come straight form there. I'd recommend him.
If I had read and listened to his lectures, read the book and really applied myself, I would have gotten an A, but I didn't and received a C. I took him online and he replied very quickly to all my emails. 5 test, 5 discussion questions, and 1 application paper on pre-selected topic. My interest in politics has increased.
Simple online class. Read his notes/lectures(which are long but very helpful, as they are repetitive which helps you remember the info), read/skim the book. 5 discussions? Take practice quizzes until confident. The 1st thing you should do is the App paper, get it out of your way! You can finish this class early.
If you read the lecture notes and skim through the readings in the book, you will do ok. Nice that there is no cumulative final!!
Dr. Little is very passionate about his subject. He answers emails really quickly. His tests are not the easiest. His review questions have little to do with the test, basically (he does tell us this). Read the chapters, then read his notes (listen to the audio!). His notes are pretty interesting. All around good professor, good online class.
Wonderful Professor to work with. Took an online class with him and got a grade higher than I expected. Very understanding and pleasant. Workload was difficult but inspiring, thanks to Professor Little. C.Smith
Took his online course. Very straight forward and simple. There are 5 40 question tests, 5 discussion boards, and one application paper. It seems like a alot but really it goes very steadily and he is willing to help and easy to get into contact with. You do need the book for exams only. I would recommend him for an online course.
Easy online course but find a friend. notes are a little long and dated but okay need book for test only finish class early do your best on app paper b/c the grade is posted at the very end so u mite need it to get an A. copy and past notes to word doc so you can cntrl + find for test. overall not bad but not easy
I took online class of Dr.Little. There are lectures to listen, which make it interesting. I learned much more than I'd expected. If you need to take Texas Politics, I'd recommend him.
I took Dr. Little's Texas Gov. class during the summer 2012 online. If you actually try, you will pass, and probably make a good grade. I just didn't apply myself as much as I should have, ha. Discussion Boards are easy, as long as you do it - you will get a 100. Don't need textbook. Exams are easy if you take down his notes. I recommend him. :)
Lectures easy to understand. Read the text and listen to lectures if you want an A. Tests are hard (questions are not right out of the book but are application and sometimes just opinion). I felt like I was guessing quite a bit. He could use a spell checker for sure.
Dr. Little's lectures are really the best at paraphrasing the textbook used in class. There are 5 exams (non-comprehensive; only covers the materials he lectured on for that week), 5 discussions, one Power Point presentation, and one application paper. I would have to say that the discussions and power point slides were easy.
Took this class online. Not too hard. I actually learned which I wasn't expecting to do. I am NOT a government person, but this class was interesting.
He expects way too much of you. I took it online over a 5 week summer course, maybe it was because of this but I've never had a hard time with shorter summer course but he just really expects too much from you, we aren't poli sci majors we just need credit! Had to drop. Don't take him unless you want to kill yourself with work & memorization.
Lecture readings and audio clips were interesting. Exams were a bit contradictory to course material. test questions seems a bit opinionated and sometimes it seems as if questions asked had nothing to do with course material. There is a PPT presentation assignment and an application paper to do. Overall I had mixed feelings on the professor's class
Really easy class. There are 5 tests (including the final) that are not cumulative, 5 discussion boards that you get credit for as long as you post something thoughtful, and one short paper. Everything is open at the beginning of the semester, so you can finish tests really early so work from this class doesn't conflict with others. Recommend!
must read lecture and textbook. one short powerpoint-easy, discussions easy, application paper was a little tedious and annoying, but doable. Tests are straight forward but detailed and sometimes there were questions that werent form that week's unit. hard to get out of course, but doable and you'll survive it.
Super easy class. I had zero interest in TX politics but it was required. Read the lectures and take notes, skim the book. Tests were easy. Powerpoint was simple, application paper was easy. Material is boring but it was an easy A.
Interesting class. I was dreading taking this but the lectures are really clear and easy to understand. Some of the test questions involved questions from future chapters but it's really nothing to stress. 'B+' because browser crashed during test and deduction for missing the last test date on time. Definitely recommend.
his notes were pretty good, however there was many test questions that I had no clue where he found them. I studied hard and barely made an A ... it was not easy... very time consuming class. I liked his notes and audio but his tests were very challenging.
I took this course online for my RN to BSN degree. He provides all of his notes embedded with audio files. His voice is clear and easy to listen to. VERY helpful - transcripts that were provided for the audio files and enriched the learning exp. All you need to do is read the book and study the notes. You can work ahead if need be. Great teacher!
I bought the text book and only used it a handful of times if that. Read the lectures listen to the embedded audio & you will do fine. You have a PPT presentation to do, which was easy, and a 5 pg written project. Other than that standard discussion board stuff and a quiz a week. (mostly pulled from his posted lecture and audio segments)
This professor responds to emails when he wants not when he states in the syllabus. Many exam questions don't seem to relate to the assigned chapters. Intentionally makes it difficult to pass. Not very helpful; Lives in NC teaching online course; Comes across as "not caring".
I took this class online. Instructions were specific but you MUST do the reading to get more than a C.
Turned me off of online classes for good. Mandatory discussions that you never get full credit for, and a weird paper are bad enough. The worst part is no matter how much you study for the tests, even a B is tough as he changes the questions into his own words apart from the notes. If you email him expect a short response in all caps. Not helpful.
This was an easier online course than taking early civilization history online. As long as you write good enough responses to other classmates in discussions, easy 100's. As for reading the textbook, it was long to read but an enjoyable one. As for the tests, they were pretty easy. If you take POLS 2312, get this professor. ^_^
I took Dr. Little's POLS 2312 online and it was a breeze. Read the lecture notes and you will be fine. There are 5 tests, with no final. There are 5 discussions, which are extremely easy. 1 application paper which is extremely easy as well!!! Overall, his lectures are very helpful and so is he!
This class is very well organized, however you have to put in the sweat and tears to get through. 1 application paper graded hard, 1 power point presentation easy and 5 exams . You can finish this class early and before all due date (bonus). no extra credit!!
In the online class you have to learn and do everything on your own. You will never get feedback on the grades you get (on exams, paper, or discussions). I've taken many online classes and this prof just isn't helpful. The exams and lectures are inconsistent so you'll get 10 pts less than what you should bc some questions are not in the material
The class is extremely time consuming. The notes and lectures and all of the reading DO NOT help when you take your tests. He expects way too much for a prereq. class! If I didn't have to take this class I would have dropped it. He marks questions wrong on the test even when they are exactly as the notes were.
There is 5 five exams. The course material he has is based on his opinion. The questions are confusing and not in the material. I wouldn't take this class with this professor unless you have too.
I enjoyed his online class, but the test are all based on what he believes is true. Its just reading the book and the lectures. He gives a paper to write that he doesn't grade for ever. He also has discussion questions that are really easy
I'm taking Dr. Little's online class and for the most part it has some challenge. The hardest part of the class is the tests because it covers the whole 3 chapter and his lecture. His paper he assigns is subjective to his opinion so be ready to incorporate all the book and the lecture notes. Overall I enjoyed learning about this subject.
You have to read the textbook and study the lecture notes, but will only be tested on half of what you studied. He writes his own test questions, and they are badly written. You will have at least five questions every exam, where you will HAVE to guess. He asks very specific questions about scarcely mentioned topics. Don't take him.
He makes an easy class long, boring and difficult. I took his online summer class. Book is not mandatory just make sure you read his boring lecture(thats a must to pass the tests). Weekly discussion, weekly exam which are hard because he makes his own questions and mainly out of his boring lecture. Paper due at the of semester
Avoid this class. I have straight As and this is the only class that ruined my 4.0. Prof. Is a mess, he makes typos everywhere then you make a mistake and he takes off max points. Ridiculous amount of reading, tests don't cover the material, and directions are unclear on all assignments. Possibly the worst class I've ever taken
This has absolutely been the worst class I have taken thus far....& I still have three weeks left. The discussions, power point, & paper are no sweat- if you put the time in it's easy. The quizzes & exams are a different story. Too much reading, easy to forget info, material in both not covered. I'm at a low 90% & doubt I'll be able to keep an A.
There is so much content for this class. It is really hard to keep up if you have other courses. They treat you as if you are history major.
Tests are easy only 3 the whole semester. Must participate in discussion boards and there is one paper. There is a lot of reading and lecture notes but are directly related to tests, discussions, and paper. Overall good structure and class.
I have to have this class and I have read many conversations regarding this professor. Since I work a full time job, I have to take the online class. It is a lot of reading and listening. The test questions are not easy, you have to think like he does. This is one class that I really had to work for the grade.......
You need to read the chapters and lectures along with the audio lectures. Tests are pretty straight forward and not many assignments. One power point presentation and one research paper. He is very fair. The coaches grade according strictly to the rubric, so if you follow the rubric you will do great.
You need to read alot if you take this class online. Also the test answers are NOT on quizlet, he makes up his own questions
Lots of reading and studying required. He is not accessible outside of class. I emailed a few times and he never answered. His practices questions are mostly helpful for the test
Just completed the online class. 5 exams which were 62.5% of your grade. Exams are challenging (he writes them himself). Read the lecture notes and listen to the audio lectures and you'll do okay. There was a presentation project, 5 discussion questions and a research paper. Lots of reading. Good luck!
Awful, awful , awful. Completely disorganized, over 60 pages of lecture notes for each module, and the mites are full oe grammar errors. The worst class ever.
His tests are tough, but only because there's a lot of material to read over. If you read over the material, all of the info is in there. The rest of the course work was easy, in my opinion, and I made a perfect score on all but the test. His lectures are very informative, and I genuinely enjoyed listening to his lecture recordings. Overall, decent
Professor Little could be a brother to Dr. Phil. Test are on the tougher side, read the materials, listen to the lecture, take the exam reviews many many times each will help tremendously!!! Would definitely take again!
I enjoyed aspects of the class, and like the professor, but this class was easily the most disorganized class I've ever taken, with too many errors to enumerate. The coaches aren't always responsive and you will feel largely on your own to decode assignments and test questions. There are test questions that aren't covered in the unit.
If you don't get an A or B--you put in Zero effort. Ya, the tests aren't on Quizlet but you can keyword search the lecture. The 3 "papers" you write aren't tough. Took me like 3 hours each. Tests aren't too bad. I've got an A right now...2 weeks to go. There is a bunch of reading though. It's not a tough course though.
Do not take him. I have a good grade but his test questions contradict his lectures so i emailed him about a question I missed and why it wasnt right and he agreed with me but wouldnt change my grade. Literallly the worst professor ever because of how he writes his tests.
Pay close attention to the readings in lecture. It's important to read the textbook, lectures, and listen to his audio section. If you do, you should make A's on the exams. It's not hard, but some questions are tricky. I had to email him a few days ago about a confusing question on the test. But he showed me why I was wrong. He's a good professor.
The professor himself is not bad. He doesn't interact much and can be very tough on his tests, due to his wording. There is a lot of reading but if you read the chapters, read his lectures, and everything else you should be able to do well in his class.
The online class was easy A. 5 discussions, 8 tests and 1 paper of roughly 2 pages. Discussion questions were easy to write and test questions were straight forward. Just read his online lectures ad you will ace tests. No need to study from book. Submit discussions/tests on time. However, some deadlines were extended as some students missed them.
Easy class and very manageable! 8 tests, 5 discussions, and 1 paper. Reading the notes does help but really all you need to do for the tests is control search in the lecture notes and textbook sometimes and you are certain to get an A. The test questions can be confusing but if you email him about them he is very willing to give points back!
If you are taking the online class of this professor, I just want to let you know that even if you don't want an A, you will get an A.
I took him online and I was expecting it to be a blowoff, but it wasn't at all. It's not a hard class if you study all the material, but his lectures are LONG. He gives a test every 2 weeks so its a lot of material to remember from the book and the lectures, but if you're good at memorizing you'll do fine. I got a B in the class.
I was apprehensive about taking this class because I usually struggle with history/government. However, I learned so much from this class and loved it. I took it as a 8wk online course- 8 tests, 3 essays, and 4 discussions. I recommend just reading his notes and listening to his short audio clips because I never read the book after the 1st test.
Taken as a five week online course over the summer. Even though it was at a faster pace, Dr. Little gave clear guidlines needed to pass with an A. Keep up with his lectures and videos and I found it easier to also read the book. Test can be a little confusing, but he is very open to correcting them if needed. Great feedback. Truly Caring.
Tons of reading with 3 major assignments, discussion questions and weekly quizzes. I have to admit though, I enjoyed the class. Every single unit read was interesting. I'd definitely take a class with this professor again.
Honestly, I never read or studied, so with that said, maybe read the book and lectures to get better than Bs on the tests.
8 exams. 1 paper. 5 discussion posts. Really doable. The written lectures might seem super long but they are completely readable during commercial breaks while watching favorite shows. Exams are easy as long as you read written lectures at least once before exam. Paper is super easy. Few bad grades and still make A if you good on paper/discussions.
Assignments are clear and spaced out. Lecture readings are engaging and fun to read based on the material. Can work ahead if you feel like it. Tests can be slightly tricky with the wording. Written lecture portion will have all necessary information. Never used the book.
This class was so easy, I honestly forgot about it at some point. I literally skipped ahead and finished the last couple of units before the end of the semester, just to get it out of the way. There is a required essay, but his expectations aren't too high. I never read the book as well. Just skim through the lectures.
Took 5-week summer session online. 8 tests, 10% of your grade each. Just know the material from his written lectures on canvas and you will be good to go in this class. The tests can be tricky with wonky wording so be careful. My final grade will be 97% as I had a very high test average from careful reading and study.
This class is doable if you work. You will want to take this class by itself. There is a lot of reading and a few papers. If you read the notes and follow the rubric, you are sure to pass this class. I actually learned a lot about Texas politics. I would take a class with this professor again.
Bummed that I received 89.5. Hahaaa! Next time! An "A" is very obtainable. Very nice and funny lecture videos. Clear communication.
A lot of his test is in the lectures. Just make sure to at least skim the lectures before completing assignments. The course consists of eight units: eight discussion boards, eight exams, and one application paper. The discussion boards do not usually have a minimum or maximum length, but require two responses to peers.
The lectures are on canvas and you can't print them out; I copied and pasted them into word so I can read them on paper. Exams are on lockdown browser, there is no study guide and you have to know everything from the lecture slides. There are 8 exams, 4 discussions, and 3 papers 3-6 pages long. This was the hardest gen. ed class I've ever taken.
Easy A if you know how to take tests using certain applications that Lock your browser Down. Pretty bare bones pol sci class tbh. Discussions are easy as well.
This is the hardest class I have ever taken. Lectures are long .You cannot skim them as you don't know where quiz questions come from. Even you read all lectures, you cannot memorize them all. Quizzes are hard and you have to submit 3-paper. I am ready to quit this class. This is a general course class. It should not be that tough for students.
It is a fast paced class but totally manageable. The test are timed with 45 minutes to complete 25 questions. Lockdown browser is required for all 8 test. I really learned a lot from this class and would recommend it for future students.
This is definitely one of the easiest classes I've ever taken. The exams are on lockdown but if you just read the stuff in Canvas and listen to the audio he posts there, you're gonna do great in the class. I'm a nursing major and usually have anything to do with history or government, but I 100% recommend this class and would 100% take it again.
Prof. Little has probably had the best setup of any instructor I've had during COVID. Work is self paced, readily accessible for questions, lectures are a mix of reading and audio. Would definitely take again.
This is just a general course required for my degree but working full time, taking another class along with this was a nightmare! He has all lectures on canvas, requires a 3-6 pg paper within the first 2 weeks, discussions MUST be lengthy along with 2 replies to peers I mean come on take it easy! Definitely would NOT recommend this class.
Government is a difficult class for me but the way this course was set up I was able to focus and pass. The lectures notes are there and you need to make sure you read in order to be able to prepare for the test. Also there was a paper but as long as you read the criteria and not procrastinate its doable
This professor makes you read more than what you will read in 2 of your classes combined. Most of what are in the reading he posts will be in the test. You have a test every week, which I would not have any problem with if the reading was not over excessive. The subject itself is not difficult at all, what makes it difficult is the load of work.
There is soooo mucchhh reading. This has been a very difficult class for me not because of the content but because there is so much to read and test on. I was a straight A student before taking this class.
This Professor cares a lot about the education of a student. I communicated with him about my struggles as a college student and he was so understanding. His modules can be long but they are very interesting. His test are also very to the point and connected to the modules.
There are 8 units, all are divided up by different canvas readings. The two longest had 35 but the others had low 20s. Each unit has a test and every four units has a discussion post that are easy points, there is one signature assignment (essay) given based off last name. No textbook is required he writes his own and provides them!
VERY dense packed class. You have to read every little word because those questions will pop up on exams.
Professor Little provides you with the lecture notes, and his tests are derived from them. If you use your resources appropriately, you will be successful.
There are many lectures, but the information is pretty easy to handle. It will take a while to get through the lectures but that's summer classes. The tests can be extreme and sometimes have questions that arent in the notes. Other than that this class was really a breeze and he does a good job of keeping his commentary interesting.
Not a hard online class. Def take this online and use your resources. Easy A. Do the discussions, easy 100s.
Took him online during the summer and honestly such an easy class as long as you put in the effort and set aside time to do the readings! Was a five week course with about two quizzes every week and about four or five discussion posts that arent graded heavily. Great class and an amazing and straightforward professor!
There is ALOT to read but he also provided audio clips to give you a better explanation within the text. I enjoyed his class, i think the best way to get an A is to do his practice questions before every unsupervised ONLINE exam. BUT The practice exams have mistakes and you might shuffle through the same question 2 times both with different answer.
His lectures are very long and a lot of it is repeated. He tests over very particular details in his lecture so you have to know every last word and even the diagrams and pictures are used in tests so make sure you study a lot. There are 8 tests which each have 25 multiple choice questions online that are not monitored. 1 essay and discussion.
Great online, graded off a handful of discussion boards, a paper, and eight chapter tests. No midterm, no final, no attendance since its asynchronous. First two or three chapter tests were really hard, but the rest level out and become fairly consistent. Read all of the posted lecture notes (though they can be outdated at times) and you'll be fine!
My easiest class. Lectures can seem overwhelming-I just printed them out. No book-that's a plus. Exams are off lecture notes. There are 4 discussions and 1 paper, easy peasy. Make an effort in your discussions w/responses, and follow rubric in your paper, you will be fine. 8 exams at 45mins each, w/25 questions each. I would take his class again.
There are 8 exams that need a Lockdown browser and are very difficult if you don't study. You cannot find most of the answers even from the quizlet. You don't need a textbook because he uploads all lecture readings on canvas. Lots of readings and 1 signature essay are required.
I wouldn't really call his class lecture heavy, they're more like online notes you have to read. He does have about 8 online tests that you're required to take and plenty of time to finish them (never got less than a 92). The tests are easy enough with only a handful of difficult questions. The class is only difficult is you're lazy.
Took this as a 5-week online class. Way too much information than needed. A significant portion of his lectures are purely his opinion and conjecture about how bad Texas is and has been. His lectures and tests are also filled with grammatical errors.
There is a lot of reading, four discussion posts, a signature assignment, and eight exams over the course of five weeks, but if you put in the time and effort, you should be able to get an A.
took during the summer, and lectures were easy if you dedicated time to read them. lectures had some typos / grammatical errors. unit exams were 25 questions with 45 minutes to complete, and if you do the practice exam, you will likely pass. i enjoyed reading the lectures and the jokes he cracked in them too.
Tests are taken in a lockdown browser and they're long but they're not difficult if you learn the material. Written assignments are very easy.
DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE FROM THIS PROFESSOR. Exams contain ridiculous questions that make no sense. The professor doesn't communicate about due dates for assignments until 30 minutes before they are due. Lockdown Browser is required for this course, which is absolutely bonkers for an online course. Be careful taking this course.
Really easy class in my opinion and an easy A. Genuinely all you have to do is actually read and maybe study 30 minutes before each exam. Professor Little was great with feedback especially with the signature assignment. The discussion assignments were also very easy.
Some of the Written Lectures had audio from his In-Person Class, which I liked. Some of the quiz questions were quite niche. I had an issue with being flagged for AI when I wasn't, so keep proof by writing in Google Docs and showing your history. I got my grade reversed, but it sucked dealing with that. Overall, good teacher and okay course.
Prof. Little is really great, or at least the online course he made is. It really felt as though the walls of text he posted for the course material were an actual lecture. I'm pretty sure he typed every single one himself. Really easy to understand, and definitely a interesting topic, and he stayed pretty non-partisan the whole way through. W prof
He really does seem to like teaching and the recorded + written lectures are great! His practice tests however are really annoying since they use outdated questions and thus don't gouge anything. For the actual unit tests, they aren't too difficult but there are overly specific questions and some that are tricky. Overall good.
POLS2312 is an online course, and everything is clearly stated on the syllabus or in Canvas. Each unit was spread apart so there is plenty of time to do the notes and learn the material. I highly recommend this course if it is required since this was the easiest online course I have ever taken!
Pretty easy class if you stay on top of things. Professor Little is fair and clear with what he expects. Quizzes and assignments are straightforward, and he doesn't make things harder than they need to be. Good option if you're looking to pass without too much stress. Quiz and exams are similar, he also offers practice test as well.
not too bad. just keep up with the homework and quizzes and you should be good.
Easy to get along with, responds quickly and grades easy.
Honestly, do not take this class in a 5-week section. You will be in tears trying to read through everything on time. Expected to read/take notes on just readings (Typed transcriptions of HOUR long lectures). You cover a whole unit in about 3-days. Unit tests are twice a week, and very hard to study for. Be prepared for no weekends, or free time.
I took this course online over summer for 5 weeks and really enjoyed it. The lectures are super interesting. He organzied the course really well and had very clear rubrics. My advice would be to asnwer questions thoroughly on the discussions and study the practice questions. Would definitely recommed taking his course.
Really chill guy, definitely recommend if your taking this class over the summer!
Uses lockdown browser for test, and lots of discussion post per week. An easy summer class if you like for read and write 300 word discussion posts plus replies. One essay due but that depends on the last name. The slides and lectures weren't reliable
This is my first time writing a review on Rate My Professor. His lectures are 150,000 words in total for one section and you have to read 23-30 of them a week. The problem is, he gives you practice quizzes worth no points and only 1 of those practice quiz questions will be on the actual exam. I 100%would not take him again.
This class was online, but I still feel I learned a lot from the written lectures Dr. Little provided; he also included helpful audio in the lecture notes. The only assignments were 8, 25-question exams biweekly, a signature assignment essay, and a couple of discussion posts, but they were all straightforward and based on the material.
Fairly easy class but ALOT of reading, I mean ALOT. Very little assignments. Only 4 discussion boards(w/ 2 peer responses), 8 unit exams and 1 four page paper where the topic/due date is determined by last name. NO extra credit or quizzes except for the recommend "study" ones which aren't graded but they aren't really helpful either.
