I think this teacher is really awsome. he's not a stick in the mud. This is a college class read the damn syllabus nothing is ever spelled out. Everyone has different learning skills so why would you dog any teacher? but honestly all HAIL MEHL

Great Teacher! Very funny and alway's tells jokes and gets to know you. All quizes are 10 multiple choice and right from the chapter. Test are easy if you take notes...most of questions come from notes. Love's 80's rock and "Diet Bubba"

Great fun, but a VERY hard grader. Study study study the notes and the book. You'll learn tons of stuff not only about ADV, but about life. Plus, the guy looks like Gary Cooper.....but not.

This guy will make you laugh all class long. His test are hard but it is worth it with all the stories that he will tell you about life. Take him if you don't mind puting some work in and want to have fun in class.

The largest **** known to ferris state university. only donwside is that he doesnot like Rap music. take him if you can.

Prof Mehl is the coolest teacher on campus by far! Hilarious in class, opinionated, and thos quizes everyone talks about being hard are usually what he calls "freebies" or automatic 100%. The guy is a riot!

Real cool teacher. Talks a lot about life lessons that really have nothing to do with class, but still interesting to an extent. Best part about him though....HE HATES RAP MUSIC WITH A PASSION. God, that's great.

Mehl is the best professor i have ever taken, he takes time out of his life to teach a class that he didnt even get paid for. he tells you the truth even though you dont what to hear it but you know you need to. sometimes you might think why is he talking about that but everything he says has a point and if you dont get it, it isnt his fault.listen

Mehl knows his stuff, but he also knows how to be annoying and hypocritical at times. He will blame our "generation" for steriotyping, then turn around and use the word "like" as much as possible when referring to us, even on tests. I learned alot from him and would take him again, just be prepared for his sarcasim.

Excellent professor. A very funny man, who is very passionate about his work. Test can be a little tricky, but finds ways to make sure everyone is interested in what your learning. Would deffinately take more of his classe. Great man.

The only people that rate Tom as a bad professor are pot smoking degenerates...He is an awsome teacher who understands his students and their culture. He is the best Advertising teacher we have, hands down.

You need to take this guy. He is like the white Dave Chappele, very funny. Makes class easy and fun, and you won't have any problems staying awake. TAKE HIM!

Hilarious. He holds my attention all class period and makes me laugh outload almost every lecture. He likes to ask 'trick' questions on tests though. So make sure you kno all definitions. Hes fun and pretty easy as well, take this guy, you won't be disappointed.

He has a good sense of humor, which makes lectures a bit more enjoyable. Just be careful when reading the test questions.

With his hilarious examples, it's hard to forget the material or NOT pay attention in class. He's also very helpful as an advisor and cares about all of his students. He seems like he understands students better than most other profs. Easy and fun class though if you take good notes.

I think he was one of my favorite teachers in college. He made me want to attend class and actually pay attention. I could never say that about any of my other classes. He also has a great sense of humor and loves his job, which made it nice for us.

Mr. Mehl is an awesome teacher, I would recomend him to anyone. Yes he can get off topic but other then that he is very awesome. He got me very interested in ADVG and starting out in the class had little to no interest in ADVG. Take his class!

One of the best classes i have ever taken! he is halarious, and keeps you interested in what he says! the tests are all on what he covers in class! its a great class, i would recomend it!

Mehl is hilarious. The tests are slightly more difficult than the quizzes, because they cover stuff in the book as well as lectures and he doesn't exactly discuss the book in class. He gets off topic a lot but he is so funny and always tries to tie his stories into advertising (doesn't always work...). Take him if you like to laugh during class!

He is my favorite professor!! He is so funny and I loved his class. He took us to McDonalds once and it was amazing. I love this professor but his test are hard but just read the book and you should be fine.

He is soo funny. He is brilliant with how he can tie any of his seemingly off subject stories into his lecture. If you like regular lecturing teachers where you can tell you're learning, don't take him. But if you want your lessons given in an upbeat way by a guy who really knows his stuff, I HIGHLY recommend him!!!

He is genuinely interested in his students. He gives stories alot during class that directly correlate to the actual coursework. Suprise quizzes are given on occassion and out of class reading is necessary to succeed but he is an extremely intelligent man who will teach you alot about the ins and outs of advertising.

My favorite teacher ever. Class isn't the easiest, but I honestly WANTED to go to class, he's the funniest guy ever, I loved it!

Easy class if you read the book. Pop quizzes once in awhile. He does not cover everything in class so reading is a must. He tries to make the class interesting and interact with the students. I suggest reading the book and participating in class to get the most out of the class. Very nice guy. Jokes around a lot.

Any day where you have the opportunity to attend a class taught by Tom Mehl, you should do so. He is the best teacher at Ferris State.

He occasionally rants about random things. He knows what hes talking about when it comes to advertising. Attendance is mandatory and he is not lenient about excuses for not coming. If you wanna be in the AD business this is the guy to take and have connections with!!

I would always look forward going to his class. He's hilarious! Best professor ever. He's rough on you when you deserve it but he understands when students need a break. He's really down to earth and doesn't put himself above you.

Great prof. Great guy. Great stories. Kind of digresses A lot but he always thinks he ties the story to the topic. I plan on taking him as much as possible at FSU.

Professor Mehl is hilarious! He likes to tell lots of random stories (ask him about Zots or the "Jackson Lean" some time), but he's filled with info on advertising and very knowlegeable in general. He's also a really good writer!

Mr. Mehl was great when I attended Ferris. He would explain many things in Advertising, that were "real to life", stories that, to this day I can remember clearly!(Not just a textbook Prof.")He was one of the best that could that prepare you most for the Corporate community!! He certainly made learning enjoyable and had a great sense of humor!

He is a really nice guy who understands all the pressure we are under. He gave out free "A's" to all of us on our first test so we could get a feel on how the exams were going to be. He will send home take home tests because they are difficult. He goes on long tangents about his life and his sales experiences. But overall he's great!

So much wasted time in class. I wouldn't recommend him if you want actual notes and grades. However, if you want an easy A and a great person to talk to, go for it!

Great Prof! He knows a lot about marketing and sales. He always tells real life stories related to the lecture. Getting out of class early wasn't uncommon. We didn't buy a book. We basically never had any quizzes or tests. However, if you miss a class period, he won't let you make up the work. Overall, a great prof and I highly reccommend.

Class was fun and he goes off on random points, but it always comes full circle. I had one take-home test and a major part of your grade is a Sales-person's Handbook and a sale's pitch. He is a very vibrant speaker and this is the one class I look forward to going to.

Mehl cares about his students and is brave enough to ignore the rigid rules at Ferris. He does go off on tangents but they usually find there way back to the point of the lecture. The class structure is simple and encourages improvement. He is technically-challenged so students have to help him out sometimes. He will also make you laugh.

My favorite Prof I've ever had. The classes tend to drag on, but you learn a lot and he's definitely the best entertainment you'll have in Big Rapids. Usually the only grading consists of a few pop quizzes, a couple take home tests, a project, and maybe a final. Very intelligent guy with a thrilling personality. Definitely recommend taking him.

Mehl was a great professor, yeah he does get off topic but he always pulls it back on topic. Also, his stories provide good relief during a long class. Mehl is funny, will listen to grading concerns, and has clear grading and classroom rules. I would definitely take Mehl again if given the chance.

Tom Mehl is one of those old professors with so many stories about his own life that he likes to share. Sometimes it goes off topic, but most of the time it ties into the lesson. Some people hate this kind of teaching, but I personally loved it! He cares about his students and has some pretty rad stories.

comes off as "no nonsense" but super easy going. Did not need the book BUT we did convince him to give us 2 take-home exams, so if you can get the book so you can use it on the test. He does go on tangents but they all 100% relate to the material if you pay attention. DO NOT listen to bad reviews. He's a great prof and a great time.
