Took his class during winter secession. Straight forward
very easy-going, made the tests open notes
Excellent Professor. Shows a lot of concern for students. One of the best at SJSU.
He's a very helpful and patient professor. His tests are not too hard as he only tests whatever he covers in class. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
He gives short T/F quizz every week to encourage students to read chapter before class (can drop lowest scores). Exams are open notes, but not open book. Fair at grading. Overall, he is one of the best professors at SJSU.
cool teacher always willing to help out
Excellent lectures. Explained examples on the board thoroughly. clear and easy to understand. allow students to use notes for exam. Very nice. Always willing to help students. AAA++++
He is such a good teacher, so nice and patient to his students. His test is fair too.
Very cool teacher who is willing to help students out. Exams are open note but are difficult although fair. Participate! Very knowledgeable about Tax and knows his stuff!
He is an amazing person! Very humane, fair, honest and clear in his teaching. Rare for business teachers. Not easy, though.
highly recommend to take his class. He is an amazing guy, and very helpful. The best professor in SJSU.
Very helpful and understading teacher. Grading method is straight forward and clear. Attend class and participate. Take him!!
Great teacher! Very fair and clear. Even though exams were open notes, they were still pretty fair. Knew his stuff about tax. Had a quiz on every chapter but only took the highest 9. Participation is big in his class.
Very good teacher for tax. Very Fair. Tests are open notes. He curves. The final was hard though so watch out. 3 exams, short quizes on every new topic, one tax paper (can do with partner), and you'll need 15 participation points. I recommend him.
Professor Moschetti is a very nice person, and a super teacher in the world. Take his class!!!
He is the most interested in teacher for me at SJSU. He is very helpful and very nice person. I am waiting for him to teach Bus 123C for next semester.
TEACHERS IS HELLA DOPE...BUT WATCH OUT FOR HIS f u c K I N G TESTS..HELLA HARD....VERY WORDY...WATCH OUT FOR HIS S H I T...STAY AWAY IF POSSIBLE UNLESS U LIKE STAYIN UP ALL NITE TO STUDY FOR HIS EXAMS
Mr Moschetti is great. he is very nice and good at explaining things. the hw is hard, his tests arent that easy, but its ok, because he still gives you a chance to pass.
He covers a lot of material, which is why his midterms are open notes. When you look back at all the questions he asks, you can't say any single one of them were anything that he didn't go over in class at one point. He's fair cause he doesn't test you on anything he hasn't mentioned in class.
Very nice and approachable. The course itself is tough. But he curve. 60% is a C. If you put a fair amount of effort into the class, you should pass.
He was absolutely my favorite (why I took 3 classes from him). He was fair, helpful, and appreciated students who asked lots of questions. If you sit in the front row or two, and participate, you're guaranteed at least a B just for effort!
Very Super nice guy. He is soooooooooooooooo cool and relaxed. His wife is even nice too! They are both great people cuz they helped alot for the tax project. His medterms are do-able but watch out for the final. It's haaaaaaaard and very very looooooong.
Model professor.... (nice, patient, clear, helpful ....) Simple answer: take him class(es)
Awesome teacher. Greater person. Made subject easy to understand.
He is the best teacher I know in SJSU. He is very patient to explain the topic again and again if students don't got it. The exams are open books and open notes and are fairly easy.IF you attend every class and get notes, you will pass the exams easily. There is only one project in the entire semester and you can do that in a team or by youself.
He is a great accounting teacher. He is always ready to help you and cleary teaches the subject. He has great knowledge about this subject and has a passion to teach. You can't go wrong with him. Ofcourse you got to put an effort for this class as any classed but you will get a positive result for all your efforts. Take him don't miss the opprunity
A good teacher.However,123A itself isn't that easy. You need to know your material a little bit before going to class.Otherwise, you can get pts from quizzes.123A covers a lot of topics and sometimes he teaches so fast that most of the students don't have enough time to finish copying notes from the blackboard. Pay attention to the test wording .
He's nicer than some taxation professors. Basically,he does teach very fast. Sometimes he goes so fast that most students want him to repeat the material again. Tests are not that easy because of taxation wording. Overall, if you work hard, easy B+. Still recommend him.
He is the one of the best in Accounting and Finance department. He picks out important materials and focus on those--very clear and organize. Study hard and earn an A from him
He is a good teacher even though he is pretty boring. But don't get caught off gaurd his tests are a lot tougher than he makes it seem. They are totally do-able but study up for them.
This is a challenging class because tax laws keep changing. He does a GREAT JOB of teaching a dynamic subject! He gives you outlines for the class and tells you what to focus on when studying. Tests are open note, so if you do the homework you'll have the information you need to pass the tests.
He his very helpful and approachable in an otherwise boring, difficult class. Tax laws are not too exciting but he teaches well, is understandable and is happy to put in extra time to help you understand. Recommended.
Nothing bad to say about this guy, he is an awesome professor. Tax can be a tricky subject but his tests are very fair and if you do the hw and have a good understanding of it, tests are nothing to fear. It is true that sometimes tests are tough, so don't slack off. Everything is relative, remember, tax is still a difficult subject.
Very friendly teacher. Always smile to us. Material is a little hard, but he teaches in the easiest way. Open notes for midterms. Prepare for quiz before each chapter starts. Extra points(be announced)if answering questions in class. High recommend!
Mr. Moschetti is my favorite accounting teacher at SJSU! He is so nice and friendly, and he makes what could be a very difficult/dry subject, half-way interesting and understandable.
His quizzes are impossible to study for. The more I read the worse I did on the 2 question chapter quizzes. Remember to use citations on term paper or you will get a C on it. Exams are difficult even though its open note cuz his lectures are confusing. Moschetti might convince you to take a machete to your own head by the end of the semester!
the guy that says his quizzes are hard, is a retard. his quizzes come from his reader. I NEVER read the book and out of 12 quizzes I got seven perfect scores. just read his reader and practice the homework samples, which he gives answers for!!! If you put a decent effort, you will get a nice B, I did. Moschetti is dope, take him for tax class!!!
Very easy class if you listen to the lecture & take good notes. The teacher is very helpful. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Exam is pretty strick foward... Highly recommended.
Accounting is a very boring subject, but this teacher does his best to make it interesting. Great teacher.
Great teacher. Quizzes almost every day, 3 tests, a project, and a final. I suggest doing the PWC challenge for full credit. Very clear. Don't actually read the book, but do the HW (computations on exam based on HW). Go to office hours, he's really helpful and nice. Quizzes based on course reader. Go by the course reader!
Best accounting professor at SJSU. I was supposed to take bus 20 with another professor and I'm glad I took his class instead. Even though the material is hard, he definitely tries his best to make you understand it. Very funny and nice guy. He was a great professor. The class is hard, but take him because he will help you.
Good teacher.... Take my advise.... DO THE PRICE WATERHOUSE PROJECT!!!!...the paper is HARD to research.. ..... the first test is easy, dont get cocky...they definatly get harder.... my advise, start with the workout problems first, then do the true/false on the tests.. if you take my advise you will assure yourself at least a B...he's a nice guy
he gives homework , but ends up doing it in class for you! so dont bother doing the HW. BUT do copy it when he works it out, understand where every number comes from, his test are almost identical to hw. do that and you are golden...majority of points comes from problems, the rest is multiple choice. Very good prof. to take for taxes.
he is a very nice & helpful teacher. there's a short quiz everyday. make sure 2 turn ur HW in. most ppl don't so that dropped their grade. as long as u have 4 HW turned in, u don't have 2 turn in da rest b/c he only take da 4 highest score in HW. there's 2 midterms (no cheat sheet), Final, & group proj. presentation.
Quite possibly the best professor in the college of business. I'm saddened to hear he wont be teacher 123C next semester.
Great teacher that provides interesting lectures with client tax cases and real life examples. Prof. Moschetti is very responsive to student questions and he is funny as well.
GREAT PROFESSOR!!! Buy his study guide and pay close attention to every detail in class. Very understanding to personal/business problems. Quiz every class, but will only count the highest 9. Extra credit opportunities. Very knowledgeable. One of the best teachers at SJSU. Very easy going and respectful. Strongly recommend him.
He is a very nice professor and knows evrything about tax. But there is a lot of information to learn and half way through the semester your mind will be overloaded. It is not his fault, it's just whoever made up all the tax rules!! His exams are connected with his lectures so recommend attending class.
T-Mosh is a very nice person who's always willing to help if you approach him with questions. The 123A class is the easier of the tax classes, yet can be very complicated. That being said, TAKE HIS MORNING CLASSES! T-Mosh is somewhat monotone and can be boring at times. Thus, 3 hours of his lecturing will cure insomnia!
Professor Moschetti how I love you, let me count the ways. I loved this class! His lectures were very informative and made tax actually seem fun! He explains the concepts a lot better than the book so take good notes and attend all classes. I disagree with the person that said his lectures were boring. I found him to be a fascinating lecturer.
Open notes exams.Hes a great person but his evening class is hellish. It seemed neverending somehow.I am sure its not him but the subject matter and he DOES get monotonous. It wont have been this bad in morning class I guess. Brace urself for the textbook-bring a cart to campus just to haul that thing.
Nice professor-knows taxes. Even though open note exam, but very tough. Trick questions, not right. Project was not easy.Class not easy
It's a tough class, but still interesting. Mr. Moschetti is one of the best professors at SJSU. He is willing to help anyone who puts the effort into the course.
had this as an evening class. Super Boring! my hands would cramp up from texting all class period. otherwise teacher was not super difficult. definitely passable
Tax concepts are very challenging and can be confusing, but this teacher will lay it out very clearly with multiple examples. A previous comment about "trick questions" is inaccurate because this professor will throw a test question out if the majority got it wrong. Fair grader, great professor. Shares IRS stories which are fun to hear.
Intelligent and helpful! Love his stories about his experience in IRS, really fun and interesting. For the class:quizzes, look up from previous semesters;as for exams and final, do the same but also, write down EVERYTHING he said in class cause it WILL be there. For project, make sure you get writing-tutors to PROOFREAD, or you WILL loose points!
Super nice, helpful and intelligent professor, one of the best at SJSU. His lectures are very important, make sure you write down everything. Tests are hard but if you have good notes you will be fine.
Make sure you put out time for this class. It's a workload! Tough material so expect it. Not a place to go to if your looking for easy A. EXAMS ARE EXTREMLY HARD. Quizes Okay. Someone had mention professor Fowler as a good choice for BUS123A. Other than that, take at your own risk
Nice teacher and very clear. The class is not easy, his exams are hard. Just make sure you have notes on all the example that he did in class, and make sure you pay attention.
His lectures and explanations help to make this subject very easy to understand and comprehend.Class has a couple of tests, weekly 2q quizzes and a tax project. Be sure to buy course handbook as it is very helpful and you can use it for tests.
Presentation of material is disorganize and confusing. Tests are not straightforward.
Tape lectures. The book is used for introductions and problems. Reading the book will not help you. He has his own versions and his methods are not found in the book. Project is UNFAIR. PWC competitor get full credit without working but project students must work hard for their grade.
Moschetti might be the nicest professor at SJSU. He will do anything he can to help you succeed in his class. 2 midterms 1 final make up the bulk of the grade, while 10% is quizzes, and 10% is a research project that is done with a partner. Moschetti is the best choice for 123a.
okay, the professor is extremely professional and helpful, but the material is so darn hard. The exams were extremely difficult to get an A on and he does not curve grades for students in the A/A- border. Getting Cs on exams however is actually easy. prof. Moschetti is one of the best professors at SJSU and it was a pleasure to take him for tax.
He's really nice. Tape his lectures..He'll let you know what is important for you to know on the exam. There are quizzes every week, but they're really easy if you pay attention in class.
He was wonderful! I was dreading taking federal tax and he made it manageable.
In my 3 years here at SJSU, i can really say he is one of the best, and maybe even acutaly be the BEST professor i've ever had. he is extremely helpful; gives his home number out for assitance, tells u whats on the exams, all you have to do is tape record him and listen to the lectures, u'll get an A. Ask any previous students..
Overall a very good professor. Tests are open notes but there is so much info that you need to know, I would recommend that you study before hand. You have to be very careful with the wording of his questions because they are very tricky. The book wasn't very helpful in that it was very long and boring. He makes the class interesting. His stud
Exams are open notes & course reader (no textbook). Wording can be tricky so watch out. Also you need good notes to solve the computational problems. Gives quizes on every chapter (no notes), they add up so don't miss class. Very professional guy with neat stories. Was always more than willing to help his students succeed. Would highly recommend.
definitely the best tax professor here at sjsu, he tells u exactly what is on the exams, and makes the subject crystal clear to you, humorous at times when he tells you his IRS days.. Although tax is hard in general, but definitely managable in his class to get an A if you just STUDY real Hard..
Lecture only. He uses textbook for problems only. You cannot write fast enough, so you must record lectures. He only helps some student, but not others.
He is awesome. Allows open NOTES on exams. Kind and helpful. Make sure to take notes on all the problems he does in class. Exams are T/F, MC, fill in blank and a couple written. Exams are a bit hard but with good notes you will be fine. Make sure to read the chapters, it does help if this subject is not your strong suit.
Prof. Moschetti is amazing. His lectures are crystal clear (make sure you record them)so comprehension isn't an issue. Attendance is mandatory. His IRS stories are pretty funny =)
Explains very well and lots of examples. Photo copy the problems mentioned in the outline because he goves over them in class. Don't adivse missing class much. Relevant and well told IRS stories. Open notes on exams, quiz for every chapter. Learn a lot from him, so study hard. I'd recommend him
When I took him it was his first time (and I think only time) teaching Financial Accounting, he's too good to the point of not being able to dumb it down, so the normal students may get lost. I'll take him for Taxing though, he had funny IRS stories, he's very willing to help so make sure you seek him out. he gave pop quizzes quite often.
1 proj 3 mids and 1 final. Basically you don't need to worry much if you take notes in his lecture. You can open everything on the test. That's fine. But a lot extra credits + bonus quiz then curve the grade. Kinda over I think!!! Made me lazier~
JUST record the lectures and do the problems and you'll get a good grade. He does a very good job lecturing about such a boring subject. Very good teacher in general
If it's not on the lectures than it's not going to be on the exams. Record the lectures. Exams are straight from his lectures. Exams are T/F, MC, and open ended. There's a tax project. Notes are allowed on the exams. Really nice, helpful, and knowledgeable professor.
Moschetti is one of the sweetest and best professors at SJSU. His lectures and examples really help simplify the material. He also allows open notes on all of his exams. He does not put surprises on exams and almost all of the open ended problems come from examples from class. The project is easy if you have a good group.
EXCELLENT professor! You really can't get any better than Moschetti. An incredible teacher and an even better human being. Very nice and approachable, and he really cares about his students. One of the best teachers I've ever had.
Moschetti is an excellent professor, no doubt. He actually teaches you the concepts from scratch unlike other professors who just read off power points and require self study. Make sure you have good notes, otherwise you may find it difficult to understand the concepts as there is a lot to grasp. No reason for anyone not to do well.
Everything said below is right on the money. 3 tests, 1 project, and final: best way to prepare for the tests is to record the lectures and listen to them the night before or the day of. Notes are allowed on tests, so make sure you have examples of the problems he goes over and make good use of his outline and reviews. Great professor.
Probably my favorite professor in the A&F department. His class was very informative and interesting. Getting an A is not that difficult because he provides plenty of review questions prior to the exams to help prepare. Also exams only based on lecture, make sure to record them or take really good notes. His IRS stories are funny as well.
the best professor I met. Very clearly and helpful.Listen to his classes and take notes, you will get A.
He is good. He loves tax. Exams are open note and book. Easy class.
After taking his 123A class I just had to take his 123C. This class is more intense, especially the second half, but he is such a great professor that it doesn't matter. You actually learn something that can be applied to real life since this is individual taxation. Only take Moschetti for taxation!
He is very clear, and easy to follow professor. His IRS stories are great. He likes to lighten up the mood by telling jokes of the day. I enjoyed this class!
He is very interesting. Exams are open notes only. No book allowed. 3 midterms and 1 final. 1 project and 14 quizzes takes the highest 9 quizzes. Write down everything he writes on the board and make sure you listen to his lectures and review the problems in the book he goes over. All the questions he gives are straightforward if you listen inclass
He is the best professor at SJSU. I'm glad I took this class with him. Attendance is not mandatory but you shouldn't miss a class meeting because he tests you on what he talks in class. So make sure you take good notes or even record his lectures. He allows us to do that. Textbook is not necessary, so don't waste your money on textbook.
Excellent teacher. Truly a legend in the field of tax within the silicon valley teaching circuit.
I can't recommend him enough! Excellent professor for a real world subject. A lot of useful real-world info in his class. His reader contains most of the material. Homework problems are in the textbook. RECORD HIS LECTURES (with permission, of course) and review prior to exams. Makes test taking a breeze! Very interesting IRS stories!
TAKE DETAILED NOTES. I only opened the textbook to look at problems. Exams are open notes, questions are similar to the ones went over in class. Moschetti goes over the material quickly sometimes, so it's important to catch every word to get an A. I recommend reviewing the material before the exam so you're not scrambling to find stuff
Great professor. He cares about the students and the profession. Tax is a difficult topic. There is no such thing as an easy tax professor. He does a good job. There will never be a question on an exam that wasn't covered in the lecture. Therefore, it's smarter to record the lecture than to read the textbook. SJSU will miss him.
SJSU won't be the same without him, he is a great tax professor. Extremely helpful. T/F on exams were tricky at times.
