extremely easy, work in groups on all assignments, no TESTS!!!!!
He teaches the most important values as they relate to teaching...LISTEN UP!
Easy grader, but getting harder as time goes by...
By far my favorite prof here. If you want someone that honestly loves what he does and stands endlessly for what is right in the system of special education...this is your guy. The class won't just teach you, it will make an impact on your life.
all projects are group work, but what exactly has to be done in the groups...a little cloudy
So enthusiastic about special ed. Loves what he does! Class is fun b/c your always in groups or group discussions that are actually interesting. Papers are somewhat hard, but if you do the work and ask for help they are easy.
great teacher--knows the history of disabled people, makes class very interesting is very fair....easy A
Very good professor, and he is clear to his point. Maybe a little to incline on his own view, but can listen to students
By far one of the greatest professors here at MU. His class is a lot of fun and there are no tests or quizzes...that is a plus!!!
great class, such an interesting man with fresh perspectives on special ed; papers are a pain (long, but partners are allowed), and no tests. great class!
The greatest teacher ever. Definately take him, he is a very kind genuine man. kinda cute. class is interesting and fun, you'll a great deal he is very knowledgeble.
Absolutly the best professor at MU!! I think that every person in the university as well as the world should sit through just one of his lectures. It is incredible how much he cares about what he does. There should be more people like him in the world!
No tests, LONG papers...can work in groups which makes them more bareable...good guy... lectures can get a bit repetitive but overall very likeable
neuville is the greatest... he's so insightful and remarkably passionate about what he does...taking one of his classes will change everything you ever felt about people with disabilities...he's got a lifetime of knowledge to teach, more than any textbook
not a great prof. Interesting but very repetitive lectures. Group work unclear. You teach your peers....not always well either. Could be much more interesting and succinct
Great Guy! Can be repetitive but you will learn and he's fun guy. Group projects are very in depth and time consuming but as long as you follow guidelines, you're good to go. Highly recommeneded
Amazing! Very passionate about his topic. Lots of experience and knowledge. Will change the way you view people w/ disabilities. Projects are pretty hard but he is very helpful. The knowledge gained from this class w/ him is worth the tough projects. I learned so much.
Very caring about his subject matter and his students. His occasional lectures promoting socialism are a little unnerving. But when he stays off the subject of economics and concentrates on ethical treatment of all humans, he shines. I learned a lot about myself and society in his class. A++++
AMAZING!!! AWESOME!!!
Very informative, enjoys his job, relates well to students, wants students to learn and understand material taught
Fantastic! Really makes you think. Amazing wisdom, really knows his stuff. Classes are never dull. He will change the way you view people with a cognitive disability. very clear, no guessing games like with Dr. Edeh. Very helpful and kind. If you don't take a class with him you are missing out!
You will love him! Real fired up about the topic he teaches. Never dull. Makes you really think about your attitude towards people with a cognitive disability. Expectations very clear. Fair grading. A lot of work but doable and worth it.
Dr. Neuville is AMAZING!! Not only is he a wonderful professor, but really a wonderful person. After the first or second class, you just want to be his friend, in hopes that some of his wisdom and insightfulness will rub off onto you. Very Very excellent professor..a must-take at MU!!
The most enthusiastic person I've ever met. I didn't realize how much I learned until the end of the semester. He totally changed my perspective on people first language and empowerment
this guy is the man and I have known him for two years he cares about his students and challenges them at the same time
he loves to hear himself talk! he talks in circles with large words to confuse u. he knows nothing but things related to transition. he definitly plays favorites. turn in anything ur gonna get an A hes to lazy to read it all
Dr.Neuville is the most inspiring professor I have ever had!!!
amazing professor! he has so much great stuff to say...people complain about him talking for almost 3 hrs straight, but i really enjoy listening to what he has to say...he has experienced so many different things in the field and it is great to have a perspective like that-take his classes...even if they are 3 hours long-he is GOOD!
WHAT AN AMAZING PROFESSOR!!! HE ROCKS BEYOND WORD..He's soo enthusiastic and gets your soo pumped I learned sooo much and had a blast...Yes the assignments are long but the grading is fair!
cool guy
My favorite class to attend. He is a wonderful teacher and loves his job. He is also very helpful outside of class!
Amazing Prof. Best teacher I have ever had. Take him for every class you can.
best prof ever. very helpful. loves what he does. do all work on syllabus and you will do fine. its only 3 papers. but they are real long. if you ever have trouble... he is there to help you whenever you need help. def take his class!!!
A-W-E-S-O-M-E So extreamly helpful, he is also my advisor and i have never had such a great influence on my education! Deff take him if you get the chance, he is so inspiring. He also has been every where and done everything has many great stories!!! :)
I loved Dr Nueville. He is an awesome teacher and person. I have learned the most from him in one class than i have three years of education classes. I would take any class I could with him as the teacher. He asks you to complete long papers, but its not that hard and you get to do them in groups. He is very insightful, helpful and easy.
This made my brain work in ways that I never thought possible. Dr. Neuville tells it like it is and I enjoyed it. I talk more in this class than ever before. TAKE HIM!
Dr. Neuville is passionate about what he teaches and I've enjoyed having him as a professor two different semesters.
A very interesting guy who loves what he does. I learned a lot and he made us think outside the box. His papers are ridiculously long but you work in groups so its not bad.
Dr. Neuville is a great professor and guy! His class is extremely interesting. Although there is a lot of work outside of class, you can work in groups for the long papers & that makes it a lot easier. Overall, I would recommend taking anything taught by Neuville :)
Dr. Neuville is a great guy and very passionate about what he teaches. There are no tests. His class is ALOT of work, with many hard, long, papers and his instructions are usually unclear. He is very willing to help you however, and is understanding. While I didn't enjoy his teaching style, I do know that having him as a professor has benefited m
awesome class but so much writing.
Dr. Neuville's class was my absolute favorite and I always left class with my head spinning because his ideas were so abstract. His pedagogy supported the research stating 85% of what you learn you learn from your peers. Hence, all the group work. His class made me fall in love with the teaching profession.
He's a cool guy, read and do what he says, simple as that. I chose not to do certain things, hence the grade I received but as long as you submit everything you're good! He seemed to think we're a little simple-minded at times though which bothered me. Overall though good man, tries to really connect with the students.
knowledgeable
Dr. Neuville was very knowledgeable about movements and sociology. He showed us how to be open-minded about other people. I learned a lot and he can be boring at times. There's a lot of reading and postings on D2L. His grading was very generous. Don't ask him questions because he wants you to figure it out first, then use him as a last resort.
best class ive ever taken with the most helpful prof possible! opened the course 2 weeks prior to the start with all assignments open to start at that point - very clear cut and professional
Dr. Neuville is a genuine guy. There is a lot of work in this class, and should be considered a writing course, but he grades easily and gives bonus points for attendence. Make sure you start Model Coherency paper EARLY. (Mine was 50 pages long)
This class has inspired me to be a teacher that changes how things are. Neuville has high expectations, works us hard and it is all worth it. Follow the instructions and get an A. Some people in class could not handle the thinking and change expected. I hope I get to take him again.
Be prepared to write a book for this class, and no it is not a "w" credit.
Neuville seems to think he is the only class you have in a semester. Expect to write well over 60 pages & he will NOT read them. Unprofessional, rude, inconsiderate, cares too little about his students and too much about the material. Way more work than any other class. Unfortunately unavoidable for dual majors in Soph Bloc. Prepare yourself.
Neuville is a great professor. His class is A LOT of writing but he does grade fairly & uses a rubric for the 2 big papers. Weekly discussions are an auto 100%. Students who are upset with the course & their grade didn't want to think differently or put forth effort. It is easy to get an A+ in this class as long as you pay attention and try.
Neuville requires a lot. Online discussions are due for each class, but are a guaranteed 100% as long as you do them. This goes along with the rest of the many papers you will have to write. There is one HUGE paper due so prepare for it before the last two weeks of the semester. Show up & do the work and you will get a good grade.
Neuville is an awesome Professor. He is very helpful and more than willing to help you after class or during his office hours if needed. If you do the readings before each class and do not slack on the simple assignments you will be fine. I would definitely recommend.
Attend class, be engaged in discussions. Yes there is a huge paper, but you work at it in sections at a time. Dr. Neuville is always willing to spend time with his student , even if we go over office hours. Overall the best professor in the department and he keeps current on the issues in society.
He is a wonderful professor who genuinely cares about his students' well-being. His lectures are fantastic and they really force you to challenge your preexisting thoughts towards Special Education and people with disabilities. I highly recommend taking any classes you can with Dr. Neuville-he is fantastic and you'll definitely learn something!
Amazing professor who truly cares about his students success. He is willing to help anyone with anything. Lectures are very interesting and thought-provoking.
Good class, little to no homework for most of the semester. Also very few assignments. He is passionate about content.
This was one of my favorite classes this semester and I enjoyed going to class everyday! There are no tests, just a lot of assignments. He is extremely inspirational and what he has done to help people with disabilities is amazing. He is a great role model!
One page reviews for each class, 30+ page paper for the end of field experience and you need to attend movies outside of class. Had students teach in groups and he lectured a few times at the beginning. If you explain why you need and extension or points he might give them to you. He's understanding.
It's ridiculous that this course isn't considered a writing course because that is all it is. 2 reflections every week on top of numerous outside assignments, 20 page paper that enters into an even larger paper. He never explains ANYTHING and don't even try emailing him because he will blatantly ignore it. VERY time consuming course.
He will not cover any of the topics on his own, gives well over one hundred pages of reading per assignment which are all set two or three days apart. He doesn't grade impartially, hes a stickler but doesn't actually understand grammar very well. Hes very pompous and will tell you that your way of thinking, if it isn't to his liking, is wrong. Bad!
This professor knows his stuff. He is a bit of a tough grader but if you follow the directions all will be well. He interacts with you when you state an opinion that is factually wrong and that is tough. However, it changed how i see things.
Dr. Neuville is a great prof. He is very passionate about the subject he teaches. The only thing I would warn you about it the really long paper. You have all semester to work on it. DON'T PROCRASTINATE. Mine was about 70 pages. Discussion posts everyday on readings. No tests. Just do the paper and discussions and you are golden!
Don't expect to have your problems fixed. He takes your question and twists it around to make you look like the idiot. Not helpful at all and he has a backwards sense of reality!
Dr. Neuville knows his stuff and is happy to talk with you when you want extra help. He is not easy and he is challenging but he is the professor I learned most from. He also puts his ideas into action with inclusive programs at the university.
Yes, the paper's huge, but if you follow the example and don't procrastinate you will be fine. I honestly don't think he reads half of all the writing you do. I literally got at least a 100 on everything I turned in. Basically, don't procrastinate and you will be fine
I would highly recommend Dr. Neuville for his course. He is difficult though. Lots of reading, writing and critical thinking. But, if you're goal is not only to be a better professional but a better person, take his course. It completely changes your thinking and actions towards disability.
Dr. Neuville is a great professor and really engages the class in meaningful discussions. The class is not hard, but it is time consuming and there are a lot of papers and readings, but his grading is fair. The discussions are really interesting so if you have the chance to take this class with Dr. Neuville, you should.
On of the best classes I have ever taken. He is very knowledgeable and well respected. I would suggest taking this professor even if you do not need to. He offers so much extra credit. A lot of reading and paper writing but very important and interesting.
Dr. Neuville is a such a great guy! If given the opportunity, take his class! There is a lot of reading and writing however by the end of the semester, you really feel like you know the material.
If you don't like writing papers, don't take Dr. Neuville's class. There are countless papers in the class with one big one that consisted of 40+ pages. He requires you to use APA citation in all your papers as well. However, he is an extremely easy grader for everything and hands out extra credit in large amounts. Just be willing to work for it.
Be prepared to write a lot of papers and no matter your absecene he will NOT give you credit for provided Dr. notes. He is willing to work with you if you go and talk to him however it's his way or no way.
Dr. Neuville is a great teacher. I have learned more in this course then most others. He expects a lot and will work with you if you need it. The papers are tough. In class he questions as much as lectures. I want to take him again. Check out the disability studies major he runs.
I know that there are some not so good reviews for Dr. Neuville, but I can honestly say that I loved his class. He has a very dry sense of humor, but if you learn to understand it he's hilarious. He is reasonable and wants what's in the best interest of his students. Yes you will write a super long essay, but it's really not that bad. Good Luck!
Psychology of Students w/ Disabilities, a week long institute, will challenge previous conceptions and knowledge in regards to individuals with disabilities. Dr. Neuville posted TONS of resources that we could read at our leisure. The guest speakers were knowledgeable and gave great insight on how professionals can keep disabilities in perspective.
I took Dr. Neuville's graduate course (SPED601) as a 1-week institute and it was wonderful! He facilitated excellent learning with a mix of presenters, class discussions, and time to work on a culminating group project! This course was wonderful and made me think about my day-to-day work in a new light! Thank you for making learning so much fun!
Dr. Neuville is the most educated professor I have ever had. He really knows the content he teaches, and you can tell that he is passionate about it. The class is a lot of work (there is a huge paper), but for what you will take out of the class, it is very worth it.
Dr. Neuville is a great professor and I learned a lot from him and his class. There is a lot of writing required; however, it is not too hard if you read and pay attention. Ask questions if you are unclear of what is expected because he will explain. Funny guy and really knowledgable. Make sure to get all books required, you will use them.
Dr. Neuville is my favorite professor so far at Millersville. There is a lot of work for this class, but the effort is well worth it. He is a super easy grader, and by showing up to class and going to the films, you will receive extra credit and easily finish with 100%. He is super caring and really shows that. Also, he is always open to talk.
I took him online for SPED 330 this winter and he was very helpful and the class was stimulating. I admit it was a relatively easy course but if you do take the time to read and write you will get a lot out of the course.
There were MANY essays in this class. The majority of them were short and weren't difficult, but they were time consuming. He is very long winded and assigns many pointless things. He is okay I guess. I wouldn't take him again if I could help it, but he's definitely not the worst.
Dr. Neuville is great! Really passionate and knowledgeable about what he teaches and tries to get students involved a lot. I hope to have another class with him in the future!
Dr. Neuville is awesome! Loves and cares about his students. Listening to his stories about his past experiences is the best part about class! Loves what he does and is a great professor.
Neuville is hilarious. He makes class funny and if you can laugh it makes the class even better. At times it can be extremely boring, but if you joke around it will be better. Most the semester is spent doing team teaching, so he rarely actually lectures. The paper is a pain but as long as you follow the outline you will get an A.
Dr. Neuville is a great professor. He gives alot of "busy work" but they really help your grade. He does make you attend films after class but they also help your grade.
Dr. Neuville was an interesting professor to have and I definitely learned a lot in this course. He truly wants you to think a lot and discuss so that you can understand the deep topics in this class. You do a big paper but it is due in parts so if you stay on top of it and follow the rubric you will be fine.
This class was way different than I expected. I didn't feel like I learned that much compared to SPED 101. You learn all about inclusion. You write 5 papers and a final. The papers are up to 30 pages long. As long as you answer the questions, he gives you a good grade. He is a very nice guy and understands that classes are difficult online.
Dr. Neuville was an interesting professor to have. He has no tests but makes you write a lot of papers, how this class isn't a writing credit is beyond me. Though he is an easy grader he isn't the greatest person. He treated a lot of our guest speakers badly and made some of us feel dumb when asking a simple question. I wouldn't take him again.
Dr. Neuville has lots of experience and he tells stories that are interesting. He cares about the subject and the students. There is a lot of writing and the final paper can be stressful. I wish I started earlier. If you have a problem go to him and hell help you solve it or allow you to make it work. He is an amazing person.
