Ogden RULES!! Best science teacher at the school. He actually goes over the syllabus with the students and lets them decide whats fare, what style the test are, and ect. He makes class fun and interesting. This is my senior year and he is the BEST teacher I have had at UVU. You rock Ogden!

Prof. Ogden is an awesome teacher. he does focus half of the semester on evolution, but it really was interesting to learn about, and he explains it fantastically. his tests are fairly easy, and the midterms are open book. as far as science teachers go, he's the best one i've had at UVU by a long shot, because he really is a great teacher.

This professor changed my whole opinion about science. I went into the class thinking it would be terrible and hard, but left feeling like I had learned a lot and I earned a good grade. It is so easy as long as you attend class, pay attention and do the homework (which is only once a week and it's super easy!) I strongly recommend Bio 1010 from him

Absolutely LOVED Dr. Ogden. He loves what he does and just wants everyone else to love it as much as he does. He is HUGE on evolution, but if you ask me, it is really interesting and easier than studying cells all semester. Tests and quizzes are open book, the final is not. So, study for the final. I rarely used my book and aced this class.

He stresses that Evolution and Religion operate in different realms and that they don't contradict each other necessarily. Do all assignments, take notes during class and you'll ace the exams-- they're all online except the Final. The Final's a little tricky but if you have good notes then you'll be fine. Trickiest section: DNA, mRNA, proteins, etc

Ogden Rocks!! I seriously loved this class and learned a ton! Study hard for the final cause it can be hard if you don't. All tests and assignments are online so its easy to follow your grade. Pay attention, take notes and come to class and you will pass easily. Ogden is way chill and way easy to connect with. TAKE HIM!!!!

If you are worried about taking Biology because you've heard it's so impossible to pass....take it from Ogden. Easy A but you actually are learning things. He explains everything so well and makes class fun! All of the notes are on blackboard so you can actually pay attention in class instead of scrambling down notes. Take this class for sure!!!

Dr. Ogden is very entertaining and he has a gift for teaching. Not many professors have the knowledge and ability to convey it. Dr Ogden does! I wish there were more educators like him. He loves Darwin! even celebrates his birthday! Definately recommended!

No offense, but Doctor Ogden doesn't care too much about you as a student, but sees you as a number. With that in mind, he is passionte about Biology. However, if you are meticulous when it comes to note-taking, you will see a lot of gaps in his lectures and consequently you may lose a few points here and there. Not the friendliest teacher either.

If you have to take a science class, take Biology 1010 from Ogden! Easy A (for biology) but still VERY informative. I've taken 3 science classes and this was the only one I actually learned anything from. Loves Darwin but don't let that turn you off, it didn't conflict with my religious beliefs. Text book not needed, just the internet! AMAZING!

Easy A for Biology. I was in a huge class so there wasn't a whole lot of interaction between him and I. He's a nice guy and tries to relate Bio to everyday life.

Dr. Odgen could careless about you as a student or what grade you get. To get the notes for things on the tests it is important to go to class. His class was fun and I learned a lot!! Great teacher! He does a lot of examples of things to help you learn a little bit better.

Dr. Ogden is an amazing teacher. He makes sure you learn the material. He does fun learning activities and he cares about each student. Tests are all online, so are most assignments. It's a pretty easy class. I would definately recommend.

He was very helpful in questions and made sure we learned the material, not just taught out of the book and tested on it.

Dr. Ogden is great! He is helpful and great at teaching the material. All the HW/quizzes are online. All the tests are online too (except for the final). I absolutely dreaded taking this class but I have learned a lot and definitely recommend him.

Good teacher! He teaches in ways and shows pictures so that you will remember the material. Do masteringbiology!! He uses most of these questions for the test. Tests are easy cause you can take them twice and learn from your mistakes. He is entertaining to listen to and even though the class was at 8:00 a.m.! I never fell asleep. Take Dr. Ogden!

Ogden is the coolest professor in the world. He really wants you to learn the material so he works hard to make biology interesting and fun. It's all about evolution baby!!!

Very good teacher; he puts forth lots of effort to make the lectures lively and informative. It is possible to get an A, but not a hand out. He truly loves his subject. He does lots of research so ask about it if you are a CS major.

Dr Og the science dog is the man! He is passionate about what he teaches and makes class way fun. Material is still challanging but Dr Ogden covers it very well. Highly recommended!

Doctor Ogden is a good teacher, don't get me wrong. He really cares about the subjec, and his student. BUT, do NOT go into this thinking that you are going to get an A. It's almost impossible. TONS of HW and quizzes, the entire course is open book open note. UNTIL the final. It's rediculously hard, and on nothing we study.

Dr. Ogden is a great teacher. He loves evolution, and that is the focus for most of the class. The lectures were pretty interesting. Homework isn't too bad. There are 3 midterms that are online and open book. The final is not open book though. It is not the easiest A, but is possible if you work. He curved the assignments and tests.

This teacher was FANTSTIC! Online tests, easy homework, easy A. I loved going to his lectures! He enjoys what he teaches. Hands down, BEST teacher ever! I highly recommend Dr. Ogden. He has time for his students and their concerns. He is a fun teacher to learn from!

This class was fantastic! I don't even like Biology, but I loved going to this class. He is very energetic and has a refreshing outlook and point of view on science. I failed Bio 1010 the first time I took it and got an "A" this time around. Dr. Ogden is the best science teacher ever!

the class is easy. hw, quizzes, and tests are online, except for the final. so study for that. Hardly used the book. If you do everything, you will get an A. He even drops 2 assignments, gives you a chance to correct the wrong answers on the test. Ogden is a good teacher for Bio 1010.

If you like evolution this is the class for you! It wasn't bad spending a lot of time on it, it's just the fact that it's the easiest part, then you only skim over the more difficult aspects. He was a good teacher and I enjoyed the class for the most part. Open book for tests, final is difficult and no open book. Study your notes and go to class.

This class was so great. Dr. Ogden gives you every opportunity to get an A - there is so much extra credit, so much study material, TA sessions, the list goes on. If you are willing to put in the time to do what he asks (which is not a lot, but definitely not a breeze either), you can get an A. Just use the resources he gives you.

Class is very easy. Assignments are very easy. TESTS ARE VERY HARD. You HAVE to pay attention in class and be very active in learning from his lectures. He is a FANTASTIC teacher and will make you love biology. If you want an easy A though...This is not your class. I worked very hard and got an A-

Dr. Ogden was a great professor! He wanted his students to do well and he did everything possible for us all to succeed. He did spend a lot of time with evolution. He told us that he does at the first of the semester. The class was great! I worked hard and I got an A. Completely possible to get a good grade!

One of my favorite teachers ever. He loves what he teaches and you can tell by the way he teaches it. He is great about students having questions and really wants the students to understand. He provides many resources to help students learn and he teaches his lectures with a powerpoint slide so taking notes is pretty easy too.

DR. Ogden is one of my favorite teachers. Attend class every day as extra pts given clicker questions. Do all the assignments and extra credit. Tests are hard, but if you do ALL the assignments, TA session attendance pts, and extra credit you'll get an A. This is not an easy class, but with effort you can earn an A.

I hate biology but he made it fun! Tests are open book except for the final. Attendance is a must bc he does clicker questions but you will want to go anyway. He is passionate and enthusiastic! (evolution baby) Definitely recommend!

Enjoyed his class but found it rather difficult. He spent the majority of the semester covering evolution.

I thought he was a good teacher, but there was too much busy work. I work full-time and he had TA sessions that are mandatory and a few out of class seminars. I had a hard time getting to all those due to work. His Exams are some-what difficult but the first few are online. The final is in class and is very hard. It is worth 25% of your grade.

TA's help out a lot, because he does teach large class sizes. TA's will help you if you put in the effort to attend every TA session. This class can require a lot of outside work. You must attend class because of clicker questions which can add up and hurt your grade without!

Dr Ogden is a great teacher and obviously loves the subject. TAs were very helpful. I did not like having to go to TA sessions because I never had time to go. Six TA sessions are required towards your grade. Final test is done with clickers which is so nice! He explains things well but it is definitely not a class you can miss very often.

Dr Ogden is very passionate about evolution so plan on spending about 1/3 of the class studying it and the final is only about 5-10%. He is an excellent teacher and if I could take another class from him I would. Expect a lot of homework.

I loved this class! Yes there is a lot of homework and attendance is necessary but it's all for your own benefit! He just wants his student to learn! He is very good with canvas and truly cares about biology and has passion for it. Take this class! He is awesome!

TAKE BIOLOGY WITH OGDEN! I am so glad I took this course from Dr. Ogden. He puts all his lectures online so if you miss something, you can watch it again. He honestly made Biology fun to learn (and I hated Biology before). Do the homework, go to class, watch the videos, and you'll get an A.

TAKE BIOLOGY WITH OGDEN! Yes there's a lot of work, but we are in COLLEGE, not high school. Go to the TA sessions and ask questions. He is a great teacher and actually makes Biology interesting. I highly recommend taking ANY course with Dr. Ogden.

This was by far my favorite class I have taken at UVU!! Professor Ogden is passionate about this subject! He does talk a lot about evolution, but it is very interesting! I highly recommend taking Biology from him!

He is great at communication and always responds back to your emails and questions. However, This is not a BIO 1010 class. 80% of the class is about evolution and then the final was a joke and didn't talk about anything we had covered. Everyone I know failed the final because we never learned the material. He was more busy debunking religion.

AWESOME PROFESSOR!Best bio professor at UVU by far. Gives you a chance to correct the questions you missed on the first 3 exams, but does not accept late work. Go to the TA sessions! They will help you prepare for the tests. Relatively hard class just don't miss and make sure you keep up on your assignments and you can do very well.

Dr. Ogden gives every student every opportunity to pass. MasteringBiology was extremely helpful as well as the TA sessions. I loved how the class was set up. Overall: A+ to Dr. Ogden and his class.

This class was really interesting, and I am glad that I had Prof. Ogden to teach it. Attendance was mandatory, but he kept the lectures interesting and fun. This class is not one to be taken lightly, a good amount of studying must be done to fully understand the material. The exams were not bad and the homework was simple. Highly recommended.

If you are going to take Biology 1010, take it from Ogden. His lectures are really engaging and interesting, and he relates easily so you actually know what he is talking about. The homework and tests weren't too bad and didn't take up hours and hours, but the final was a beast. Make sure you know the material inside and out or that will kill you.

You have to go to class. And you will WANT TO! Clicker points are your attendance grades and they end up being extra credit if you go to every class. Assignments, quizzes and midterms are all online. The final is in the testing center so don't fall behind on studying. He gives so many chances for extra credit. Take him, he is great.

Easiest Biology class ever. Dr. Ogden has everything organized and well laid out so there is never any question of what you're supposed to be doing. His lectures are entertaining and the material is so easy to learn. I recommend this class 100%. Attendance is not required, but you will do a lot better if you go.

Professor Ogden makes Biology more doable than probably 90% of other professors. He is honestly the funniest professor I have ever had. If your going to take Bio take it from THIS GUY. EVOLUTION BABY !!! EVOLUTION BABY!!! Makes me wonder how good his jumpshot is...

Made most lectures as interesting as he could. Not a lot of one on one time with the students. Take advantage of the TA review sessions!! They really help

I don't know what everyone is saying on here. It is pretty simple, if you do the work and show up to class, you will be just fine. It wasn't an easy class, but he is completely reasonable in workload He is funny and his passion clearly comes across in class, and frankly I'm glad to finally have a professor that actually cares about BIO 1010 deeply.

Dr. Ogden is a pretty cool guy! He is super passionate about what he teaches! I did not love that he does not do study guides for his test, but if you work hard and do all the assignments you can get an A!

His tests are pretty difficult, but he actually makes the subject very interesting. Much more applicable learning than any science class I've taken before

I took the class online. It was time consuming and had lot of reading. However, everything was applicable to the class. The assignments were not too hard just read through all the requirements. Take a LOT of ORGANIZED notes! Tests are curved and open note! Biology is NOT my strength but I worked hard and got an A. You WILL need to apply yourself.

Professor Ogden's Bio1010 class is the easiest class I have ever taken. All of the tests were open book and open note. Half of the 'homework' were in-class assignments that you did. Seems like a nice guy. Would definitely recommend him for your Bio1010 class.
