Dr. Pearcy really knows his stuff. He can tell you any history fact you want to know. He can also tell you about naked belly sliding in the dorm hallways. First history class I've ever taken that I didn't have a problem staying awake. Very good prof!!

Dr. Pearcy is a great professor! We definitely need more like him teaching. Not only is he hysterical, he really knows his history and can present the material in a way that the student can understand. If you want a good history teacher, take Pearcy.

Dr. Pearcy is a fun prof. He makes class interesting and tells some great stories. You learn a lot as well. When a test approaches, just go to see him and he will tell you what is on the test. I hate history, but I loved his class!

Dr. Pearcy is by far my favorite prof. at SRU. He's down to earth, very funny, and knows exactly what he is talking about. It doesn't matter if you are interested in history or not, he makes it interesting. It is important to read and take notes, but he is very fair.

He is a fun and exciting teacher. He loves to let the class watch the Kennedy Assassination. The test are little hard and confusing but he is willing to help you. Sometimes he can get carried away and drifts of the topic often.

Pearcy is great. I have recommended him to all my friends. He makes class a lot of fun, and you actually learn something. I hate history, but he made it fun. Take him, he made the most boring, which was even a night class, tolerable. HOWEVER, his tests are mainly essay and are kind hard!!

He should have been a comedian instead of a teacher. But, he is extremely knowledable in history, and is really awesome on a personal basis.I'd recommend him to anybody, the only minor negative is that I had a hard time seperating his bull**** from his actual lectures. Other than that he's great!

I really thought he was a funny guy but sometimes you would find questions on the test that weren't covered in class. He was interesting but somewhat hard to figure out what he wanted on tests

Pearcy is an awsome teacher. The tests are a piece of cake. I never really red the textbook and I got A's on the first two tests. His tests are ungodly easy, but you still learn so much from the class. I would highly recomend him for anyones

This guy is out of control funny! He might be a genius! Ask him about his friend that had a bug lay eggs in his eye lid. His stories are like no other and keep his students attention during class even if the subject is boring. Take a class, you will not be disappointed.

Awsome professor. Do yourself a favor and take him for your history requirement, he makes class very interesting and keeps your attention. Has the best stories of any professor. This was one of the few classes I have taken since I've been at college that I truley enjoyed. Dr. Pearcy is a great person and makes history interesting.

Allow me to clear things up. Dr. Pearcy is the best professor on this campus. He is passionate about history, cares overwhelmingly for his students, and is overall a great guy. His tests are not the easiest but he challenges you while making sure you understand the material. If you can take him. Just go to class prepared.

Not only a fantastic professor, Dr. P is a really cool guy. He teaches without notes and still manages to run a more organized class than 90% of the profs here. He's scary smart, yet still can relate to his students and make them interested in the material. Best prof i've ever had!!

Best professor at Slippery Rock that I have come across. Extremely knowledgeable and funny. His class never got old. Readings can be a drag, but they make the tests so much easier to deal with. This class was worth every "honkin" penny. Beware his hot sauce!

All you need to know is that Pearcy is amazing. I hate history but he made this class so much fun. You don't even need to read the book as long as you go to class, and his tests are easy. Awesome guy, has tons of fun stories.

Dr Pearcy is the best! Tests may be a little tricky if you don't read. Make sure you do well on them because they can be as much as 40% of your grade. Attendance isnt mandatory but you never know when he will take it. He counts attendance as quizzes so try not to miss. You shouldn't miss anyways cause you get what you pay for.

Dr. Pearcy is best teacher in the his department when it comes to learning. Uses NO PowerPoint and Lectures strictly on knowledge. His tests can be hard if you don't read so make sure you do because there are only 2 tests (midterm and final). You'll feel more knowledgeable after this class even if you're not a History major. Def worth the $$$

Pearcy is seriously my favorite teacher out of any of my classes, including the music ones.He has the craziest funniest stories to share with the class.You can definitely tell he loves teaching. Tests aren't that bad.I didn't read any of the book,I just went to class, the notes on the board are very important.TAKE THEM!unfortunately he's leavin =[

One of my favorite teachers ever his test arent that hard. There at about 35 matching and 5 essays that arent to hard. Its a fun class and he is a very funny man. Unfortunatly he is leaving but i heard he might be back later.

This class was AMAZING! He made me want to take his Kennedy class and every semester I look for it but it hasn't been offered since Spring 07!! If you need to take a History class or if you just love history like I do then definitely try to get a class with him!!

Really good teacher. Very intelligent. Not very willing to help with question and is very set in his ways. He talks a lot about politics and only agrees with one side. Overall a good prof.

If you ever have the chance to have Pearcy for class, take him! Lectures are never boring! He has the most amazing stories to tell. He doesn't make you memorize dates, he wants you to understand concepts rather. A+ in my book.

Dr.Pearcy is by far the best professor I have had in college. Tests are sometimes challenging but if you study it is easy to get a good grade.I have taken several of his classes and although it was not easy his JFK class was the most interesting class I have ever taken. I definitely recommend him!

best history teacher ever! gives no homework, only 2 tests, and everything is so easy. amazing lecturer but sometimes gets off topic telling his life stories. they'er all very funny though so it's entertaining when he goes off track. i absolutely reccommend him to anyone. you'll love him, A+ professor!

Classes are fun, he's such a nice guy and has the best stories! The only thing i didn't care for was his test set-up - only the midterm and the final, and (even though i studied at least 2+ hours for each one and showed up for class every day) i failed them both. we do get participation though.

He's excellent. His lectures are more like stories, so he makes it easy to remember info, and I have a horrible memory. There was no extra work, just a midterm and final, so put in a little bit of studying in the night before and you'll be fine. I got A's on both of them, they were not hard. Oh, and I barely opened the book. Take him!!

Pearcy is the best Prof. in the History department for sure, if not the entire school. 2 exams which count for 40% of your grade each, and attendance is 20%. Tells interesting/funny stories and explains things well. Make sure you study key points. Definitely recommended.

Dr. Pearcy is the most amazing professor! You have to go to class to take notes for the 2 exams but they are super easy. This class requires no work or effort, and you don't need to buy the book. Go out of your way to get Pearcy!

Dr. Pearcy is easily the best prof I've had. He's friendly and willing to just sit and talk with his students. He may get off topic and start a story, but SOMEHOW, he relates it. I would recommend him HIGHLY for Hist/Hist Ed. He has a soft spot for prior service and ROTC. Sometimes his class can get a little too in depth for the average student.

Dr. Pearcy is awesome and knows his stuff! His lectures keep your attentionâ?¦its like story time. Don't use book at all so don't waste your money. Attendance is part of grade but he has only taken role twice and the semester is almost over. There are two exams 25 questions MATCHING!

Go to class and pay attention. Write down notes, especially the ones he writes on the board. Mid-term and final are not that difficult if you look over you notes for 1 1/2 hrs the night before.

Hard class, but he's a good professor. He can get side tracked into his stories and tend to jump all over the place at times. Highly recommended to do the readings, write down what he has on the board, and go to talk to him if you have problems. He is more than willing to help you succeed.

This is the best professor I've ever had at SRU! Has lots of cool stories from the CIA and is a really smart guy. Go talk to the guy because he is a goldmine of information and is really helpful and wants to get to know everyone. Gotta take a class with him!

Dr. Pearcy is a really helpful and nice professor. He really knows his stuff! You have to do your reading because he goes off topic a lot in his class and tells you stories of his time in the CIA. Even though there is reading it is well worth having him as a professor, the stories he tells you will never read in a book. Great guy!

Dr. Pearcy has the most amazing stories. He is very funny and it is obvious he loves history. He keeps you intrigued with the topic because he has been to the places he's lectured on. You can get more information from a conversation with him than you can from any textbook. Fantastic professor!

Don't get me wrong he is a good guy. But grading wise he is though. He is super helpful outside of class for study sessions and his lectures are interesting. I don't think I could take him again since he isn't super structured and he doesn't use a PowerPoint he just lectures and I am a visual learner and I need things to be organized.

Dr. Pearcy is a really cool professor if you like history. He is VERY lecture heavy, but offers his office time to his students to come see him and go over the notes from class and the textbook. He does get off topic, from time to time.

I took Dr. Pearcy this spring semester and fell in love with his lecture style. Although he doesnt use powerpoints he puts up maps and sometimes shows documentaries in class. He also cares for his disabled students, he kept two girls in the front of the class this year because they had special needs and it helped them thrive. Only uses tests though

Pearcy was fantastic! I would love to take one his classes again. He is so knowledgeable on so many topics and really keeps you engaged. You may have to remind him of things and your notes will be all over the place because he jumps around a lot. Reading is very important. Quizzes are online every week and exams could be difficult, pay attention.

Great guy hilarious all the multiple choice questions on the tests he pulls directly from the quizzes that you take online.

Dr. Pearcy is a very gentle and kind man. I took his course on JFK and looked forward to every class. He made class interesting, telling personal stories and showing how much he enjoyed the topic. An hour felt like ten minutes with him! COVID hit midway through the semester and he was very understanding of the situation.

Dr. Pearcy is one of the best educators I've ever had. He is immensely dedicated to his field of study and extremely caring toward helping his students. During COVID he even personally offered to drive students to the hospital if they needed. He helps you learn how to take effective notes for reading and in his words "will never let you fail."

Honestly my favorite professor!! Very kind and will help when it's needed! Sometimes I struggled to follow the content so it made the exams we had a little difficult. Extremely knowledgeable on the subject matter and very passionate when it comes to teaching.

Although, his lectures were always thought-provoking and de-stressing. Do not avoid taking him. As long as you meet with him, he will not let you fail!

Dr. Pearcy is a good guy. He has a genuine passion for learning and will help you with anything you have a hard time understanding. His lectures are iffy because he does go off on tangents often, but if you write down the key events in what he says, you will get an A.

One of my GOAT professors! I took him a few times and History wasn't my major. He worked for the CIA and has thousands of stories!!! You need to learn the subject matter yourself for tests. By far the best professor in the department. Last of the trifecta remaining. Clearly could excel at an Ivy League school, but is a family man and loves his little niche.

Dr. Pearcy is very kind, and his course is simple. Lectures are confusing at times, and he often repeats himself. However, he is funny and very forgiving. Attendance is recorded but not required, and we had very few essays and exams. I highly recommend it if you need a history credit. Show up to class regularly and you'll be fine.
