good teacher, easy tests, 2 papers, gives surprise quizzes
His tests are very hard, but he will try to help you if you don't understand.
very helpful, fair grader, over-all nice guy

Great teacher, class is very interesting, take this class.
Rhodes is great. Super helpful. You have to bust your ass though
not helpful at all...very cocky...don't take his honors macro class
He is a great teacher. Very interesting, clear, and patient.
Extremely difficult tests- only 3 students in class with A (And I am totally one of them! haha failers!) Do not reccomend this class though, just trying to help you out... =)
cocky professor, hard exams, must study hard
Took stats with him; wish I hadn't. Take Shilov instead. You can't understand his accent, but at least he lets you take exams open note. Rhoads' exams are way too hard and they're not open note. I thought he was nice, though, not cocky.
good teacher just go to class and you will get a B

Slow pace at first and rushed at the end. If you are a student athlete, or you think you'll have to miss some classes, don't take this class with him. If you go everyday you'll understand, but if not you are SOL and he will go on about it.
hes a ****, loves to trick you, its really hard
awesome professor. brought calculus and econ together very well. knows his stuff!
Explains the material very well and tests are fair. Just go to class and you will understand easily.
Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, John Nash, Thomas Rhoads.....as far as I'm concerned they're all up there on the same level
Great teacher. Always willing to explain anything someone doesn't understand. Tests aren't too bad-just make sure you study! Good teacher-always finding ways to relate econ to your life--he's obsessed with snicker's bars!! Pay attention, and ask ?'s
He is way too hard!!!! I don't know who was worst him or Eldridge (History professor) Test-ridiculous. Grading-the WORST. Class-sucked! Don't waste your money on this class it's not worth the stress. Oh yeah and I dropped this stupid class mid-semester!
tough class....going to class a must....tests can be very tricky....he admittedly tries to do so at times....if you want to learn something, but struggle to get a good grade take him...if not, take shilov
Class consisted of 4 problem sets, a few exams, and a group project. Reading will definitely help you do well. The group project wasn't too bad.
Good teacher.....I dont mind going to this class at all...learn plenty easily
Really nice guy, class is straight forward. quizzes are given throughout the year.
Great professor. Have to make an effort, but he is willing to help.
very nice, is willing to help if you need it. LOVES snickers bars.
10 quizes. don't miss classes, the subject is hard but he does a good job teaching it. 2 short papers. a very good teacher although exams are hard.
mmmm I'm wouldn't be too sure about him..he makes you subscribe to the Wall Street Journal, you have to read the newspaper everyday cause he'll have questions about it on the tests, hard grader, but helpful.
knows the stuff but its kind of boring...hard grader...you have to read the Wall Street Journal...going to class is a must. Hope you enjoy :)....i wouldn't take him again!
Really sucks
good luck learning anything. he says he's there to help but when you ask questions he rarely addresses the real question and often seems irritated making the student feel stupid. going to him for help isn't much good because he acts the same way and doesn't really explain anything.
Quizes very hard, extremely arrogant, final is cumlative and impossible to do well on, you never have any idea what the is going to be on the tests
WONDERFUL MAN! While his tests are hard, he does explain everything clearly & slowly in class. If you need an easy A, take someone else. If you need to learn anything about economics; he's your man. Also does class demonstrations involving candy bars, ie-activly trys to keep it interesting.
nice guy--very similar to prof michaels if ya had him. writes all notes on board and give plenty of time for assignments. 1 paper
he is the best possible teacher you can have for a confusing math class. he's slow, shows all steps, answers n welcomes questions. really explains it well in plain language even tho has PHD in econ. take him if math is not your strong point, but really study the test problems for tests, theyre hard.
Great guy! Explanations are very clear! Test are hard though. A is almost impossible to get. Gives a lot of info in class. No attendance policy, but you want to do that because you'll miss on something important. Take this teacher if you want to know something, but his tests really suck! put a lot of effort into studying before exam.
Nice guy who is always willing to help. Class is difficult if you arent interested in economics but he does a good job to make it as easy as possible
Nice guy. Very helpful. Class averages about 75% on exams. If you follow lectures and read the textbook, easy A/High B. Overall moderate difficulty, about what you would expect for a 200 lvl Econ course.
I can't believe this prof. got such high ratings. I have to disagree with most previous comments. I feel his lectures were very unclear, he was not overly helpful, and it is near impossible to get an A. Everytime I came for extra help I felt I was bothering him. Wish I hadn't taken the class. My worst teacher this semester.
Rhoads' classes are always challenging; his tests are FAIR, and there are never any surprises, but he does expect you to know the material inside and out. Three essay tests and a paper for the grade. The guy is a sports fan, so he can relate the material to current sports trends. But don't expect to coast; you'll have to work hard and study.
I HATED his class. He even said that his class is one of the hardest classes on campus. And he doesnt help at all. That material is just to difficult.
Difficult class but as long as you show up and pay attention you should be able to get by with a passing grade. The proposal, presentation, and paper help to increase your ability to do well in this class. I recommend taking a class with Dr. Rhoads!
Cool guy. Pretty easy class. He takes time to know your names. online tests are open note and you can take them as many times as u need. just pay attention and you'll pass. i learned half the info in high school.
He is a pretty fair teacher. His tests are hard and you need to study. He goes over all of the tests in detail if needed and is always there for help. The final exam is cummulative so of course it is hard. Economics is a hard area, so if you arent good at it, you need to study ALOT, espically in this class.
Good teacher. VERY clear. Tests are hard- very detailed, but if you pay attention in class and study you will do well.
The tests are very difficult
Dr. Rhoads is a great teacher. Big sports guys..uses sports examples alot! He takes time to get to know everyone. Powerpoints are very helpful. Online quizzes are open note and you get 3 tries. Test are difficult but the questions are stuff you cover in class. Study and you will get a good grade. Will help you with anything you need! take him!
Very nice Prof... tests were impossible (put in many hours studying to do well)
Very nice and sports minded. Pay attention in class and study notes. Tests will be hard if you don't study.
very passionate about teaching. if you are good at teaching it to yourself and not going to class you are fine. teachers from powerpoints so you dont have to take notes. probably one of the best econ professors at towson. TAKE HIM!
He's a great guy. His exams are hard, but he gives extra credit and is very helpful. He's a fair grader, great person to talk to, and is very engaging and discussion oriented. Loved the class, and curves your grade at the end of the semester.
Awesome professor! Very personable guy who tries to relate to the students and gets to know you on an individual basis. Tests come straight from the notes(copy the powerpoints), I didn't even need my book. Online quizzes that I aced everytime! TAKE THIS CLASS!
VERY comprehensible, relates topic to students and makes jokes. it was a lecture hall, so everything was on powerpoints. weekly online quizzes (3 chances to take each quiz before due date and time). the COURSE TUTOR BOOK HELPS SOOOO MUCH, JUST READ THAT! very personable professor. curves exams too. gives extra credit! AWESME professor!!!
Prof Rhodes is the greatest teacher. Had a class in LH hall with him and he took the effort to get know almost everyones names. Tests are hard, but if you study hard you'll do fine. And if you need help, he is there! Very lively and animated in class, definately not one you'd fall asleep in!
Buy the course tutor it helps ALOT and you'll get a good grade if you follow it. He's helpful, but i dont recomend him for a 100+ student class. pay attention to the course tutor when taking quizes, he gets some of the questions from there. He's fair, not easy, but fair.
Highly recommend. The material is hard as hell, but Rhoads makes it much easier, he's very clear and gives many chances to redeem yourself. Cool guy too.
Do not listen to these people, giving him praise, this class is hard. Everyone I know say he is difficult and offend weird. I'm a A student this guy brought my GPA down when I got a C.
he is what i call a "GPA KILLER". I had to read the whole book just to pass the final exam. Everyone (usually really smart students) i know who takes him gets an C . Stay away, i plead with you.
Very interactive class because of the response pad he makes you buy for the class. This is why attendance is mandatory. Tests were a little harder than expected but he will go to great lengths to help students.
This guy is awesome. He knows the material very well and wants you to do well. You buy an i>clicker and answer questions directly in class which is good practice. Take home quizzes boost your grade and you have 2 chances to take them. Definitely take him.
Do not take this professor. I just had him this past spring semester and at first he was okay, but his test are hard! You have to buy an i-clicker and you must have it the first day of class to get points for attendance. He crammed 4 chapters in the last week of school an expected you to know it for a cumulative final. He doesn't help you much eith
He is a great professor. Very helpful and if you don't get the material, he will explain it until he get it. He goes out of his way to make sure you understand. Basically, just study the course tutor and you will be fine.
Dr. Rhoads is a great professor. He knows his material and connects you to real world events. His tests are not easy, but can't say they are hard either. You need to read the book to do well on exams. He is extremely helpful if you ask him for help. Overall, I learned a lot in his class. TU should be proud it has Dr. Rhoads on board!
I really like Rhoads! He's extremely energetic and knows what he is talking about. He makes things easier to understand by relating it to his personal life and current issues in the world. He has plenty of opportunities for extra credit and the class clicker is a helpful aid in learning the material. Please take him! Hes the best business prof
Great Professor! Makes the material clear and very understandable, he does expect you to read and work outside of class but come on this is college that is to be expected. Offers extra credit and curves final grade, more than willing to go out of his way to help you. I would recommend him to anyone.
Rhoads is great! His lectures are interesting and he relates all the topics to real-life situations. Tests are difficult but if you just study they are not impossible. Overall great teacher! :)
Very cool class if you are interested in sports. Rhoads is a very nice guy and is very helpful. We cover some difficult topics but he has no problem clarifying anything. No textbook. Only 2 tests and 4 homeworks
He hands out the syllabus and sticks to it which makes the class very clear on what is expected. Quizzes are doable, but tests are hard. Put a lot of effort into the term paper and study hard and you should be fine. He makes class fun and gets to know everyone on a personal level. I would recommend!
Professor Rhoads is a very smart man. The exams are too hard, quizzes not too bad, but there is not extra credit. If you study hard you will get a B if you are genius you get an A. He is a good teacher after all.
Rhoads is an absolutely brilliant man. However, he is a terrible teacher. He purposefully makes the tests as hard as possible and even with studying for hours, expect to get around a C+ or a B on the tests. He doesn't explain anything, and expects you to understand how to solve this economic equations without any examples.Nice guy, terrible teacher
Keeps class interesting, tests are not impossible but you definitely need to devote some time to study for them. You don't have to have the textbook and he doesn't teach from it, but it can be helpful to reference back to.
When I think of great leaders I think of Reagan, Churchill, and Rhoads. This man is a genius, and loves his economics. The class is hard but with captain Rhoads guiding your ship you should be fine, except expect to fail the tests. Long live King Rhoads
DO NOT TAKE MACRO WITH HIM. He might be extremely intelligent and friendly, but he doesn't know how to teach. Nothing is explained and everyone should expect to fail the tests, even with hours of studying. If you have a choice, get out of this class while you can and take it with a different professor. It's way too stress of a class for a level 200
I thought Dr. Rhodes was a great teacher! He was there to help and explained concepts in easier terms for us to understand. Tests and quizzers were a little hard but not impossible to pass with some effort. Gave credit for attending class and the chance to get extra points if you got the clicker questions correct. Overall great class!
Extremely smart, patient, and real. It's not difficult but if your an Econ major be prepared to have a different level of expectations. Allnaround very interesting class and a great teacher.
He is a nice man who is very knowledgeable. His notes are basic and tests are extremely hard. The math problems are often not covered in class with the same complexity in which they appear on the tests. No study guides. NOT EASY!!!!
This guy knows his stuff. The material is hard, but he is a really interesting guy and definitely engaged me in what is going on in the world. However, the tests are HARD.. but not impossible. There are quizzes and you get multiple attempts on blackboard (but you can't see what you got wrong). I would recommend him anyway, though. Great guy.
The subject matter is hard no matter which prof you take it with. Rhoads is very helpful and makes the material relatable to real world situations. Online quizzes are easy points, but exams are hard. Make sure to study.
If you pay attention during lectures, work hard, and study for the exams then you will do well in this class. Professor Rhoads is a great guy! He clearly explains the material and gives you ample opportunity to get a good grade. Clicker questions, online quizzes, 3 exams, and a final. Never used the textbook. Take ECON with Rhoads!
The BEST professor ive had. Dr Rhoads is absolutely brilliant, his knowledge of ECON and methods of teaching are truly exceptional. If you want to actually learn and retain info then take his class. However, be prepared to have your UNDERSTANDING THOROUGHLY TESTED. His class is tough but if you work to understand and not simply memorize youl do wel
Economics is not my major so i find the material a bit challenging but he makes it easy to understand and he is super nice and helpful. I do recommend taking this class, paying close attention in class and studying as much as possible. The clicker questions are important not only for participation but they often reappear on tests and quizzes.
Mr Rhoads is a great teacher and also very nice with a sense of humor. He is good at explaining things. We didnt have a lot of assignments in this class except for at-home quizzes. Pay attention in class and go over notes and you should be good.
Best professor I have ever had, at any university, ever. If all professors would even attempt to emulate how he teaches then we'd be a nation of geniuses. He is super friendly, goes out of his way to be helpful, and makes even boring PPF graphs interesting. I hope he runs for President, cause I think he'd fix the economy in a day. TESTS ARE HARD!!!
Dr. Rhoads is the best teacher i have had at Towson University. He knows economics so much and really cares about every student. I went to so many office hours with him and feel like he can help you with anything. TESTS ARE HARD BUT NOT IMPOSSIBLE! Clicker questions are easy points. 10 online quizzes which are not bad as well. PLEASE TAKE HIM!
Anybody who is interested in economics and sports should take this class. He's a fair grader and its interesting material. The essays are fun to write because they are your opinions. I liked this class, def one of the more fun econ electives here at towson.
Nice person but tests are so much harder than lecture. Please use book, it's definitely useful. Weekly online quiz, 3 exams
Dr. Rhoads is the best professor and advisor I have ever had at any college. He is so smart, but really breaks everything down to make it more understandable. He is very approachable, friendly and nice. His classes are not easy A's, but if you put the effort into them you will do well. I wish he taught more Econ courses so I could have him again!
Great class and you will learn a lot. I could not have asked for a better professor. You have a new online quiz about once every week and 4 in class tests throughout the semester. Very happy and knowledgeable guy.
Dr. Rhoads is an amazing professor. He knows a lot about Economics and helps translate it into something that college students can more easily understand. He made Economics interesting for me. He gives four test, clicker questions, and quizzes every one or two weeks. If you go to class and take notes and study for the exams, you'll get an A
This guy single-handedly made me commit to economics as my major. If you're really involved you'll really enjoy him as a professor. He's passionate and will help you out one on one anytime you need to if he's available. If you're an econ major, take him and baetjar and you won't be able to not enjoy the subject at any point.
I'm an environmental science major so this class was required but way out of my normal mindset. It was very difficult for me to understand sometimes but Rhoads is respectful, helpful and makes a relatively disinteresting subject interesting and relatable. Expect to write papers on current subjects and lots of critical thinking. Class fills up fast!
Very tough class but will pass if you work hard for it. He is always available to answer questions and is a great lecturer. He really cares about his students understanding the subject and encourages critical thinking.
dr. rhoads is a good teacher. Sometimes his real world examples are a bit complex and confusing but he still gets his point across. for sure one of the better teachers i have this semster
This class isn't an easy A but it is a rewarding class. There are lots of online quizzes that are somewhat challenging. Tests are very manageable IF you study. Definitely get the textbook it helps so much. He uses the clicker in class every day so if you don't show up to class you automatically lose 1.5 points on your grade. Overall he's amazing!
The pros: few extra credits, many papers and home works to approve grade. Puts his lectures up on line. Always there to help. Cons: 1 test and final. He expects professional level written papers average one these for my class has been 30s/50 points. Don't bother googling his hw you'll still get 30/50. His tests opinion based, know the material.
Some students complain that he grades too tough, but they often turn in poor work. The tests are moderately difficult, but the homework and position papers also factor heavily in the grade. Attendance isn't mandatory, and only about 25% would show up on a Friday afternoon. He is a good professor and will round up grades at the end.
If you find economics interesting, you'll like Rhoads. If you don't like economics, then you might find the class rather difficult. He's fair and his tests, homeworks, and online quizzes are predictable and manageable. He made the class interesting.
Rhoads is a really cool guy. Tests can be difficult, you have to study and put the work in. Quizzes are easy and he grades attendance using the clicker. Study for the exams and youll be fine. Accessible outside of class
Rhoads is okay. Hes really nice and respected but he told our class at the end that grades will be curved, and they werent. His exams are very very difficult so study a lot. Theres no way anyone in my class got an A. Exam averages were below 75% every time. Worked so hard to only get a B. There are easier professors. Avoid if you can.
Dr. Rhoads is a good professor, but expects too much. Considering that this class wasn't a CORE ECON class, he graded way too harshly. Was not happy that I studied SO HARD for the final & it was way harder than it had to be. This guy grades so harsh too, like his papers are difficult to answer & at one point in the semester I stopped aiming high
Dr. Rhoads is a very nice man, just not the best teacher the class is very hard and you have to work super hard for your grade. 3 exams and quizzes are online. Showing up every class helps because you get a point for clicker questions!
Dr. Rhoads is an excellent guy and professor. However his class was relatively difficult as are the concepts. His tests are very hard, the concepts learned in class must be evaluated in a way that you weren't taught in class. He counts up to 3 attendance points per class, and it is a total point class... SO GO! The final is not cumulative!
He's as nice as an elementary school teacher. He has no ego and is easy to approach. Tests are HARD and really makes you work for your test grades. There are no curves. Don't expect to come into his office and he takes your pencil to write out the problems for you. He'll verbally explain it but when it comes to drawing graphs it's up to you.
This class was amazing !!! It was not an easy class, so you will have to study. The quizzes can be considered homework since we didn't really get any. He gives extra credit if you get the clicker questions right. I enjoyed going to that class. You should definitely take him.
Rhoads is very knowledgeable and willing to help but his demeanor blows me. Hes very dad-like, always trying to tell us about the real world and how life will be when we get a real job. I didnt care for his commentary but if you can block it out, hes a good professor. He offers EC with daily clicker questions and curves final grades
Professor Rhoads is definitely one of my favorite professors I've had at Towson. He does a good job at explaining tough-to-grasp topics, and gives an abundance of examples if he feels like people aren't getting it. He's very kindhearted, lets students know that he cares for them in lots of ways. He's really just like a dad lol I think he's great
Dr Rhoads is an amazing teacher and he made lectures fun. He gives clicker questions everyday and if you get them right there is an opportunity to get extra credit. His test aren't bad if you study. If you think you can pass without studying good luck. You really don't have to buy the textbook it is there if you really want a A.
Professor Rhoads is a great professor. He really knows his stuff and teaches it well over his lectures. You do a clicker question on a little remote at the beginning and end of class so participation is needed to get those little points. His class isn't easy but it's not impossibly hard either. There are weekly quizzes that can help your grade.
We had to read 3 books for this class and do "5-minute writes" every Friday about the reading that week. He gives hints about what the prompt will be, but it's still a lot of reading and writing. There is a term paper he explains after the first book, don't leave it until the last minute, it's worth about 15% of your grade. Overall solid professor.
Within the first week, Rhoads learns every student's name & makes use of in class exercises (for participation points) in order to offer students incentives to come to class. He is very knowledgable about Economics & willing to work with students, but he often comes off as arrogant, calling students "punks" - gave me a bad vibe.
He is a great professor however his exams are a little difficult especially if it takes you a little longer to understand things. He offers help but u have to really understand the material. I will say that even after failing 2 out of 3 exams I still passed but barley. He goes over all quizzes as well.
He's an extremely caring guy but the material he teaches you is in a different language on his exams. It is difficult to study for his exams and takes more than serious effort to study for a basic econ class, I would avoid if possible but a challenge to take.
Before this class I took micro and got a whatever grade on it. But something about Rhoads' class made me genuinely interested in economics and want to try. His lectures are clear and helpful, he offers extra credit, and he's always willing to help you. The test are really hard though but manageable if you pay attention and study.
I absolutely love this professor. He makes macro very interested and genuinely cares about all of his students. His lectures are awesome and does a flipped classroom which helps a lot since were online due to covid. He gives out extra credit, goes over homework, and our daily quizzes every class.
He is the worst professor I have ever encountered here at TU. He uses his conservative political views to teach and always bashes liberals. During this pandemic he was the reason I was stressed as he told our class that he purposefully made everything harder such as Exams, Quizzes, and etc due to us having "other resources".. No EC, BEWARE OF HIM
Dr. Rhoads is a great professor as he really knows how to teach and is super knowledgeable about economics. His tests are difficult but they are manageable if you study and prepare a lot. And, he gave us links to the textbooks. A bunch of short quizzes and three exams. He gives extra credit opportunities towards the end of the semester.
He "didn't want to be mean" but would often call us dumb which got annoying. Ppl got caught cheating for 1st exam so he made our other exams HARD. Our avg on the last exam was 70. They basically ruined the class & we couldn't work together on quizzes. Overall, his class was organized. His video lessons + recorded lectures were VERY helpful.
He's very kind & helpful, but there are times where he says he doesn't want to appear rude; & then he suddenly is very rude to students. Also, many concepts he teaches in class is completely unrelated to questions on quizzes & exams. Once again, he genuinely is nice, but he will talk to students in a rude manner when he says he doesn't mean to.
This man's class is unreasonably hard, get ready to hear so many conservative comments. Not to mention he literally came to class having symptoms of COVID. Anyways, he's very straightforward with the lecturing, the video lectures saved my life, but it's all still hard. Good luck in this class with him, but if you work VERY hard you might be okay.
Challenging class but put forth the effort and you'll be fine. Study powerpoints. Keep up with work. Attendance not mandatory but helpful so he can know your name and round up your grade if he sees that you are trying your best. Ask questions and participate. Overall I would take him again. Good luck!!
Although Mr Roads is a nice guy his class is very difficult. The lectures can be kind of boring and his exams are IMPOSSIBLE i studied so hard for my exams and i got a C on all of them. Hes not the worst but if another professor is open take them.
For the first time here I'm going to fail a class. The professor is a good teacher except he doesn't teach us what's going to be on the exams. He rambles on and nothing he talks about is on the exams your best bet is to ignore him and just teach yourself with the textbook. DONT recommend unless you already know everything about macro economics.
Professor Rhoads is a nice teacher. He is straightforward and wants you to put forth effort. I recommend taking notes and looking over lecture videos before class, attending all lectures, and trying to understand each concept thoroughly. Class and homework quizzes are good study material. Exams are tough but not impossible to get a good grade on.
Despite scoring 20% higher then the class avg on every exam, I still managed to get a D. How you might ask? Homework! I didnt do any of it, and it is around 40% of your grade. Prof Rhodes had nothing to do with my poor grade. He has great lectures and very easy tests. Definitely take this class, just dont forget to do your homework like me.
SO HARD!!! He rambles during his lectures. He reads his PowerPoint slides which are simple enough and then gives THEE most challenging homework questions ever. The daily class quizzes are hard, the homework quizzes are hard, and the exams are impossible. Take a different professor.
Super nice guy who really just wants you to put forth effort. The material is pretty difficult however that is not his fault and he does a pretty good job of explaining concepts overall. I also took him for Macro and he was great I definitely recommend him.
hardest class I have ever taken in my life. you can take this class at community college and it would be so much easier than this.the study material is nothing like the question on the exams.our first two exams both had an average of 66% on them and the homework questions are just as hard. he is pretty chill and kind though but jeez its a hard one
Professor Rhoads explains things pretty well for the most part and has slideshows that are clear and concise but then when he gives out daily class quizzes, hw or tests it is so much more complicated than the lecture he gave. Other than that overall he is a good professor.
Professor Rhoads was really cool, seemed like a genuine person, and cared for the subject a lot. He made the content really understandable. I'm very bad at tests so I didn't do too well on them, but the class was not difficult at all, and if you need a credit or an econ course I'd really recommend Rhoads.
Not sure why he has such high ratings. All he does is talk and show you his favorite news articles in the post. Lots of homework and is only worth 2 points, tests are everything. Very right-leaning and lets that affect his teaching. Tests are hard.
I had a love-hate relationship with this course as an Env. Student. The subjects and assigned readings were interesting, but he didn't explain the math elements of the course enough and so many non-econ students struggled. The tests were so much harder than the in class work and homeworks, they barely helped as study material.
The class was tough but Dr. Rhoads gives you all of the tools for you succeed. He is very knowledgeable about the topics and will help you with whatever you are having trouble with. His lectures might get a little boring at times but if you take notes and do well on the homework quizzes you will know the topics and will pass.
Professor Rhoads' ECON202 class is tough, but he provides all the tools to succeed. Lectures can drag, but stay engaged, use resources like Unstuck ai, and you'll learn a lot. Not easy, but worth taking if you need the credit.
do not take him, his exams are super hard, hes a nice guys but omg i wanted to ....when studying and pulling all nighters to do minimum on the exam, the exams are jus impossible so are the hw quizzes its jus exams and tests graded no assignments and hald the class had to withdraw cuz they were failing so bad and he didn't even care, save yourself,
Daily class quizzes, homework quizzes, and extra credit mean very little; exams are everything. This class goes deeper than just a general understanding of economics. Please show up; it's essential because he is very gracious in curving your letter grade towards the end.
Don't recommend. Lectures are 90% concepts and 10% math but the exams are 10% concepts and 90% math. Super difficult. You most likely won't get an A in the class. He also told us that after this semester he won't be assigning work online anymore. it'll all be on paper. reading 100 pages/week.xtra credit only 2 points. 10 quizzes, 3hws(last is hard)
Dr. Rhoads is a great professor and wants his students to do well. Econ 202 is a tough class and you have to put a lot of time into it but Dr. Rhoads is very accessible outside of class with office hours and emails. The classes can get boring as it's a lecture but he is very knowledgeable and wats you to understand the material.
Proffesor Rhoads is a great guy who knows what he's talking about. Personally I didn't get over a 70 on any exam and still ended with a C+, go to office hours, do the homework, do the extra credit get to know him and he'll see what he can do curving your grade.
The class itself is a bit difficult but; it's passable. He really care, and is an overall really good professor. He actually tries to make sure everyone passes.
Class was very powerpoint/lecture heavy which got boring at times, but you can tell he cares about the material he teaches. When discussions go to current events and more in-depth of sports topics it is very interesting. Tests are completely free-response and very passable. Homework assignments for the most part were interesting as well.
Professor Rhoads genuinely cares and is an awesome professor. Unlike other classes, I find myself actually thinking about the material and applying myself. It's hard, but if you do the readings and pay attention in lecture, you'll be just fine. Take advantage of the extra credit, they'll save your grade.
Exams are very challenging, but Dr. Rhodes is amazing. He cares about all of his students and takes the time to learn everyone's name. He is very willing to help and truly wants his students to learn the content and retain it. His lectures are engaging and easy to follow.
