Awesome, Just purely awesome!
nice, good looking, good stories, funny. only bad thing is he makes you take too many notes. other than that hes a cool guy.
Cool guy but the class in general is hard. He makes you learn but makes it fun at the same time.
He is a terrible teacher, who enjoys to bash the class, and believes that the majority of the class should have D in his classroom. He extremely unhelpful. I am extremely disappointed with him.
Nice guy, good looking, and funny too. cares about his students. Makes u take lots of notes though and his tests are pretty hard.
what a good looking professor, very helpful too.
Awesome teacher, great class makes psychology interesting!..Take good notes then you will be fine for the tests and quizzes...awesome pretty good to look at ..
Very hard class. Tests are extremely hard. Must do brief paper and group project. Group project cosists of too many people and was hard to get together with everyone. He is good looking, but that doesn't earn you a good grade
he sucks!!!!!!!!
good guy good humor... i definetly enjoy the class...i'm learning alot. He will always help whereever he can
awful teacher...def an ass...doesnt explain any material...just sits up there and reads off his projector...tests are ridiculous because he doesnt teach the material...cocky as anything and def ****...would not recommend him what so ever
POMPOUS ASS!!! he is very cocky and talks to minority students differently. He will only get to know and talk to the students in the front row or the minority students. talks about his daughter WAY too much! the class is boring b/c he just outlines the chapter and reads it off the overhead :(
Great professor. He really cares about your grade, even though a lot of people don't think so. It's a very hard class, but it's really your fault if you fail, because that means you're lazy and you don't do the work. The group project is the only hassle because it's hard to meet with your group.
Doc Robinson rules! wooo hooo and hes freakin hottt!
A good professor. He understands the material intimately, and if you just ask he will try to relate it in terms that make sense to you. He has a few favorites and the group project is garbage, but I reccomend him.
Awful!! Just puts notes up and reads them. Does not teach anything. You must study book intensly to get good grade. POP QUIZES!!! Deffinatly favortises. Unclear project assignments.
This man is arrogant and pompous. He talks about his daughter way too much making her seem like some prodigy! His classes are extremely boring! He reads from overheads and powerpoint! His tests get harder as the semester progresses. Project he gives is not well explained. He's ridiculous!!

Dr. Robinson is a great teacher. He pushes you to work hard in his class. No one should fail it. Has a few favorites in the class but they're the ones that try in the class. i would take him again in a second! I got an A
He's a pompous ****.He does know what he's talking about but his classes are extremely boring. If you take him be prepared to hear all about his daughter and everything he says he relater somehow to being black.
What an ****. I got a B in the class, but his classes were tourture. Reads from an overhead the whole time and blames everything on "white people" while saying how sorry he feels for "poor, struggling black people". total reverse racism. don't bother going to class, just read the book.
He was deff a tough teacher. Tests were hard and there were pop quizes. But he pushes you to do well and will help you with anything you need. You will come out of his class actually knowing you stuff.
Very bad with his testing system
he thinks hes a ****, he talks so fast and no one understands the class. if u like psychology ull like the class if not u will hate it. hes a good teacher and ladies love him. he has hard tests and easy quizes if you wanna do good u can but i didnt
OK! He is a real cool guy out of class but in class he blams everything on us white people. ITS CHILD PSY!!! ITS NOT A PREJUDICE CLASS!!! His test don't test your knowledge, they test your reading ability.
Hes a crappy teacher. He doesnt take time to review for tests and he is very unclear when speaking. He says the word "um" like 50 times in one sentence. Do NOT take him.
He does not give a damn about you. if your sick and have health problems you are expected to show up. He can be nice outside of class but in class he will make you his bi*tch
he is a pain
Hated this class. The group project is even worse. We had 8 people in our group and it's hard to find a time when everyone can meet. Tests are the worst. YOu need to study everyday after class and all night the day before a test. Psy isn't easy with any teacher. He's nice sometimes, but mostly not.

Really active teacher keeps u involved...but tests are really hard and when you go for help he has quite the greater than thou attitude! Take the class i'm sure it's an interesting class...just don't take it with Robinson
He is a very arrogant man. He loves his heritage and almost every class, he says something about how it relates to blacks being treated unfairly. The tests are hard and the short quizes are complete ****, however he gives you a group project and outside class activities to try and boost your grade.
This is actually my second time in his class, and I still hate it. Thank goodness I have my notes from last year so I can listen instead of writing my hand off everyday. And the tests and group project are ridiculous. I'm hoping for a "C" this year.
Terrible teacher. Cocky and impersonal. Very hard to talk to one on one and even harder to ask questions in class. I dropped it after three weeks. Poor..very poor. AND REALLY HARD. Avoid him if you take psych.
hard teacher!! pop quizzes, hard tests, hated his class!! didn't learn anything! beware
professor robinson is not easy but i did alright in the class and came out with a B my first time through so i guess he's not that tuff, but i would definately recomend sitting close to the front
His class was hard butthe topics of the class are intersesting!
He is a hard teacher but if you go to him for help he is always willing to help you and give you feedback. He is cool and funny outside of class. The best thing to do is to read the chapters before he starts teaching about them, that way you will have a better understanding of what it is that he is talking about.
Robinson is very good. His tests are somewhat difficult but he is good at explaining the material in class. The material is somewhat interesting and he is very nice.
He's a good teacher who really knows what he teaches. He is also willing to help outside of class. The tests cover a lot of material but if you go to class you should do fine. He can seem a little arrogant at times but overall I enjoyed his class.
I have him next semester too. He's a very good teacher, he's always willing to help your grade. You really don't need to go to class, read the book, print out the notes on Blackboard. Just do what he asks and you'll pass-not an easy A, but an easy passing grade. GOOD LUCK!
he's energetic in class which is good because the material is boring as hell. a negative side-effect is that his lectures can be EXTREMELY verbose. thankfully he provides outlines for the material, so you don't really have to go to class or read the book to get a decent grade. a warning: avoid child psych if you can, it sucks!
Hes a cool guy. could hang out wit him outside class. Material really boring and hard but he helps with OCAs and review sessions for tests. All outlines are online. Dont take him if u like the eagles....lol
His tests are hard, but he lets you do extra credit... Psych in general isnt going to be easy so if your looking for an easy way out its not through psych... he's a good man and willing to help and he's extremely HOT too!
the class is rather difficult especially if you didn't pay attention in general psych. on the bright side its an hour of lecture by the sexiest professor at ku. i initially took the class just to look at him but i'm glad i took it. did i mention HE'S HOT?

he's a really good teacher, his tests are difficult. But he gives you easy projects that are cake as long as you hand it in on time.
Had Robinson for Gen, Child and Honors Psych. I got an A in all 3 classes. Very active teaching style, love it. Only reads outline off projector, but then goes into lots of detail on his own. Just pay attention. And for those of you who say only minorities and girls like him, I'm a white guy. Very nice and helpful. Great prof if you're not lazy! :)
hard, but funny - interesting- you just have to pay attention and do you work on time, and he's not bad- he loves his job, and was always there to help during his office hours
Strongly recommend NOT to take any classes. Possibly the worst professor I have encountered with multitude reasons.
Extremely hard!!! Quizzes are easy and understandable but I have no idea where his tests are coming from. Would study lecture notes, my own notes, and the book and would fail. Gives lots of opportunity for extra credit. Very intelligent, just not my type of class. Wouldn't take unless psych related major.
He is a decent teacher. He gives random quizzes and if you are not there, then he doesn't care. He does not take attendance. You have 1 assignment through out the year, which will help your grade a lot if you do it! His tests are complicated, but not extremely hard. If you study and read you'll be fine. You must pay attention in his class.
LOVE HIM...He is very smart. Learned alot and have a new outlook on life. Give random quizes to make sure your keeping up with the reading. Test are hard but if you read and study your notes you'll do well. Cares about his job and his students and expects nothing but the best from both (if thats what you call hard i guess) take him!
Great Professor! Uses examples and everyday scenarios to teach the concept. Would take him again!
He likes to joke around alot. hes really knowledgeable. you can learn alot from his class. he puts all his outlines on blackboard, but only continues to put them up if he sees that his classes are taking advantage of them. he gives quizzes, but will most of the time let you know he is giving them. his tests are a bit tricky but he is fun.take him!
I had dr. robinson for two classes general and adol psych. he is a hard professor but he challenges you to know the material. if you are a psych major i would take him since he makes you know what your learning. if you are not a psych major then he may not be for you if you just want to memorize stuff and be done with the class.
His class is easy if you read the material.
all tests and hard to understand some questions
He is a nice guy, very funny. Uses good examples, but the tests are hard.
I'd never recommend this teacher. The questions on the test are mostly trick questions. For a 100 level course he complicated things way to much. I'm a psych major and never received below an A in a psych course, and i needed ONE point to get a B in the class.. i still got a C. I studied hard/never missed a class.. wasn't worth it. DO NOT TAKE HIM!
He's very knowledgeable which makes it hard to keep up with everything since obviously we aren't as knowledgeable.
DO NOT TAKE HIM! I took him first semester and he thinks that you should whorship the ground that he walks on... he grades very oddly and towards the end tried to give extra credit to help everyone out but it was not enough. I went to class every day but once and barely got a C
A lot of people discouraged me from taking Dr. Robinson. After the first test lotsss of students dropped the class out of sheer laziness in my opinion. He's a very good teacher and extremely knowledgeable. You have to work for your grade, so if that's not your thing, don't take him. I loved his class/teaching style; loves joking around.
Doc Rob! This guy really knows what he's talking about, and is willing to help you out with what you need. Tests are a little difficult, but if you study youll be FINE. Loves to have fun in his class, but takes it seriously. Oh and this guy loves dogs and the cowboys, so cat and eagles fans, beware of the jokes :) this guy is awesome!
The material he teaches is interesting, but he tends to be arrogant. Also talks down towards students within the classroom.
He is a good time. He is funny and gives really good examples. It is obviously a hard course but if you pay attention and study, you're golden. Even though he doesn't take attendance.. GO! and take notes.
good teacher! def. take him
Make sure you go to every class. Read the chapters, he gives lots of pop quizzes. It's a hard class, but it's possible to pass if you study a lot. He is slightly full of himself so I am not his biggest fan.
His class is extremely boring. All he does is talk and talk, and after an hour and 20 minutes, it just gets ridiculous. He lectures the class if they don't do well on his tests, and punishes you by quizzing you more. Only teaches kids in front row, and is very full of himself... it's all he talks about!
I would not take him again. he is a hard teacher and its hard to pay attention in his class. his lectures are really boring. plus hes a cowboys fan so that doesnt help
I was interested in psychology before taking this course. He made me hate it. His lectures are so boring and he dims the lights so low, its impossible to pay attention or even stay awake. His tests are hard and its a large class so he calls on people with his set of index cards.
He drops your lowest quiz and test scores. He expects you to read the book and know the info before coming to class. He is helpful but a little confusing. o yea very strict cell phone policy. DONOT let it go off in class or else he will answer your phone.
His intro to pscy class is difficult, but you can do well. He drops one test and one quiz. Gives some extra credit and always offers for people to come to office hours. you have to read the book and he takes questions right from the study guide. show up and pay attention and youll be fine. he is a bit cocky too, but he knows his stuff.
He is very intimidating and full of himself, but still pretty nice. His rules are strict and it seems like he's going to overwhelm you with work, but he let up on my class as the semester went on. There are quizzes and tests, but also opportunity for extra credit.
Dr. Robinson has a lot to say and an observant, wise student will listen to him. His lectures are about P-R-A-C-T-I-C-A-L, important things. I took away so much good advice and sound counsel about life and the graduating student's immediate future.
Robinson is AWESOME. He is very opinionated and strict on various issues (cell phones) but knows his material and is very helpful. I had him for both General Psych and Adolescent Psych and had great experiences with both courses. He has a reputation of being very challenging, but if you show up for class and read the text, you should be fine. :)
Doc Rob..The man is amazing...This isnt a class u text in however, he is a nazi about phones dont get caught with it or let it go off or your grade will suffer.. besdies that he s really cool..knows his****..and makes going to class fun and in depth...one of my best professors so far..Take him...!
First things first: THE MAN WROTE THE BOOK. He will go on and on about how much he knows. He knows what he's talking about but HE WILL TALK TO ENTIRE CLASS. FORGET raising your damn hand. He hates it when people have something to say. LIKES the sound of his own voice. THINKS he is hilarious. You'll get a C, even if you try.
he is really rude, and unprofessional most of the time . his tests are hard as**** and you need to read non stop. do notttt take him everyother gen psych class has a tinny little book, his study guide is bigger than their books !! avoid it at alll costssss
Dr. Robinson is the greatest! If people say negative stuff about him it's because they were slackers. You do have to do your reading and study, but if you go to him he will definitely help you. Don't let him scare you away the first day...he goes on a a rant about how you need to be responsible. He's so intelligent. You'll love him!!!
DO NOT TAKE HIM FOR GEN PSYCH.TEACHES TO IN DEBT FOR A CLASS THAT IS AN GEN ED FOR MOST STUDENTS. VERY COCKY, UNPROFESSIONAL, CURSES IN CLASS. A PHONE NAZI. TELLS THE CLASS YOUR LUCKY TO GET A C IN THE CLASS & THAT STUDENTS WILL NEVER GET AN A.GOES ON & ON IN CLASS, DOES NOT LIKE CLASS PARTICIPATION. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS .
If you're a college student who wants to just get an easy A DO NOT take him plain and simple. He is very knowledgeable and wants his students to read, learn and do well. If you do not want to do hard work, then maybe you shouldn't be in college!!
THE MAN WROTE THE BOOK. He is clearly in the business of making money off poor gen. ed. chumps. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SELL IT BACK WHEN THE SEMESTER IS OVER. HE'S SCAMMING YOU. Make a friend in the class who already purchased the book and study together. You'll save money, and you'll skip the useless study sessions!
most rude person i've ever met in my life. he knows everything about psych and is good at his job but his class is really hard and you have to read the book every single day if you want to pass. tests are even harder. dont pull out a phone in his class or he'll kick you out. also dont miss any quizzes or tests cause they're hard to make up
Dr. Robinson is great. He knows exactly what he's talking about. He pushes you mentally, and that's what a GOOD professor should do. Read the damn book, thats what your in college for! To learn! He's not a jerk, you just have to apply yourself and ASK if you need help.
Plain and simple, it was the hardest class I have EVER taken in my life. I stayed up countless nights studying and reading the book. I got the best grades of my college career because he pushes you so hard to do well in his class that you will in turn to well in all other classes. I would take his classes again because it made me a better student.
Very very hard class. do not take this class. you will be sorry.
im an art ed student i took him for psych of afro-american experience. one of the most fascinating classes ever! his expectations are extremely high and you will have to put in tons of work. if you arnt interested in psych, dont take him. if you are, you will learn and retain so much! great prof for advanced psych
I had him for general psych , and it was extremley hard. AVOID TAKING HIM! there are so many more sections of general pysch .
horrible. dont take his class......the worst professor ever!!!!!!
If you want an easy class, DO NOT take him. If you want to learn more about yourself, psychology, and how you can become a better student, you should take him. He challenged me and made me a better student. He can be intimidating, but if you are struggling, so what he say to do. Go to the study sessions, read the book, and do the study guides.
IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AN EASY A OR A CLASS OVERLOAD DO NOT TAKE HIM!HE IS VERY HARD TEACHER BUT MEANS WELL!
NEEDS study. Constantly says "Not my Problem".
I took this course over Summer Session I and got an A. It was all online but we came into class once a week for a quiz and a test. If you have any questions about anything ask, because he'll clarify it really well. Quizzes were sometmes confusing with the wording. Overall pretty good prof.
I've taken Dr. Robinson for countless classes. I love this man he showed me what it meant to be in college. It is alot of material but he teaches it in a way for you to retain it and understand. Black Experience was the best class ever...but the Hardest and I got a B!
Take my advice: read the textbook and DO THE STUDY GUIDE. He bases all of his quizzes and tests off of that. Not afraid to say his personal opinions and beliefs, even if it makes you angry. Not very helpful. And NEVER miss a class.
Be ready to write papers and presentations! His class is very busy and exams are hard, but it is well worth it. He is fair and will help you if you ask. I am very glad I took him for Sr. Sem.
A lot of previous students told me not to take Robinson for Gen Psych 11...and frankly, I probably should have listened to them. If you sign up for this course, make sure you have a lot of time on your hands to do studying and reading from the book. He does pop quizes so be ready for them every time you go into class.
He might seem difficult, but he really cares for his students and really prepares you for the real world! He is a fair grader and you will learn a lot about applying psychology and about yourself through him and this course! So I recommend taking him for Senior Seminar, you won't regret it! :)
READ THE TEXTBOOK and go to the study sessions, they may seem pointless but you get extra credit for doing it. Go do all the extra credit oppertunities. They are tedious but you get a BUTT LOAD of points if you do them. Don't take if you're looking for an easy A. He def challenges you. Class helps in the long run.
3 exams online (60 pts each) - all from the text. Tough, but good prof. Be sure to RE-READ THE TEXT before the exams. Only way to study for him. 5 Pop Quizzes - 10 points a piece. NO CELL PHONES IN CLASS OR ELSE. Overall, it's a real college class - step up to the plate.
Great professor and funny. This class is NOT EASY! but if you follow the syllabus and do your work you should fine. He doesn't mess around when it comes to his rules and syllabus! Gives extra credit opportunities.
If you can drop his class I recommend you do it. Very hard class. I never missed a class and I still did poorly. All online exams/final. He likes to piss off his students.
DO NOT TAKE HIM! He is a horrible professor, takes literally a month to respond to emails and is not clear on directions at all. Such a hard class; almost impossible to get an A. 5 pop quizzes that are pretty much made for you to fail. He is a nice and funny person, just not a good professor.
Seriously if you have a chance of taking anyone else beside him DO IT!!! He's not a very good professor although he does give you extra credit if you participate in experiments and if you show up to the Student study so in all honesty use the text book, pay attention and you'll be lucky enough to get a C good luck
He is awful. Jokes are stupid. Hate his class. The use of iclicker sucks. Half the time it doesn't even sign you in. Awful teacher DO NOT TAKE HIM BEWARE!
DO NOT TAKE HIM! STAY CLEAR! HE DOES NOT HELP AT ALL AND DOESNT CARE ABOUT HIS STUDENTS AT ALL!!! although his tests are online, they are hard. take another psych class, ONCE AGAIN, DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!!!
I wanted to shoot myself in the head during every class. He is awful. So cocky I wanted to shove my fist down his throat. YOU'RE BLACK! WE GET IT! I'm native american. You don't see me rubbing the injustices against my culture in your face!
I am an A student so I am not complaining based on grades. I know that handwork is necessary in order to get good grades. Robinson is one the the rudest, arrogant, and most self righteous professors I have ever met. He is not caring nor understanding. I hope he reads these comments because he seriously needs to consider a new profession.
U can miss up to 4 days u get participation points by clicking in everyday. He gives chap. test every week which helps you with the real test but he grades them differently. A low C is an F and a low A is a B. He gives 5 pop quizzes but they are open note. If u come to class and do everything it is possible to get a B or A. He is strict but so what
I took Robinson for general psych & I took him again because I liked his class. His class is easy if you read the textbook & highlight the statistics and definitions! He is a funny guy, class tends to drag on though. He does have a HUGE bias but if you can see past that then you'll be fine. He is not as hard as people make him out to be, promise!
I'm an A student so I'm not saying his class isn't easy but his personality is terrible. According to him I'm going to be a crack head and an unfit parent because I smoke cigarettes. I'm on the dean's list, he shouldn't be treating any student like that especially ones who do well. He needs to change how he treats people, only take if necessary
BE WARNED, LOTS OF BOOK WORK. I highly recommend staying away from this professor. He took days to answer emails, was rude when he finally did answer, and thinks hes Gods gift to the university. He refused to raise my grade half a point because I "didn't deserve it." The worst professor I have ever met, hands down.
You'll spend the first 4 weeks talking about all the projects because there's 3.5 million rules. Then you have a midterm on things that you'll have to read and research on your own because Dr. Robinson does nothing but rant. Afterward, you'll work on 4 projects AND senior comps while doing nothing to prepare yourself for the 5 part final.
He takes forever to email back when all he talks about is technology. He does not give any flexibility in actual technology problems, when he chose software that was very inconsistent. Taught my one class a week behind what we were being tested on and his grading scale is ridiculous. He also acts like you do not have other things to but his class.
Do NOT take this senior seminar class! He gives a ridiculous amount of assignments and grades you impossibly hard. Will try to correct every thing you do and is APA psychotic. You learn new pointless material and barely talk about your future which is what senior sem is supposed to be for. HORRIBLE CLASS.
Dr. Robinson is a horrible teacher for senior sem. He gives you so many projects and papers that are beyond pointless. He grades everything ridiculously hard and loves APA even though he says he doesn't know it without the book. By far the longest semester in a class. All he does is rant about random stuff and complain.
I had Dr. Robinson for an online class ( winter semester). It was a simple course. However, there are alot of test and quizzes but there is deadlines for them and everything is in the text book. He made himself extremely available even though it was over the computer. Rounded me up to an A because I showed improvement. Take this online!!
Literally the WORST professor I have ever had. Was Senior Sem professor and it was the biggest waste of my time. Class is supposed to be for helping with your future; maybe for the 1st week we did. After all he did was lecture on material we have learned in other classes. Whole semester was group presentations. APA Nazi, rude, arrogant, HORRIBLE!!!
I would not take him ever again. He's the worst grader there is. Low As are graded as B, and Cs are in the gradebook as Fs. And when you question his grading, he'll give you a zero. Chapter exams every other day and big tests every week. Lots of notes, reading, and writing. Only good thing is two chapter exams and one big exam are dropped. HORRIBLE
He does not consider your other classes, if you take him make sure this is the only class on your schedule. He expect every free moment you have to be dedicated to his work and his work only. I see the reasoning behind his assignments but there are just way too many due in such a short period of time. I honestly do not suggest you take him.
Professor Robinson is the worst professor that I have ever had. He likes to shove his political agenda down your throat and does not care if he offends you that way or any other way. He has a filthy mouth and sense of humor and does not explain things well at all. He is not helpful when you visit him at office hours. Don't. Take. Him.
Dr. Robinson talks down to his students. He once spent 25 minutes cursing my class out because we didn't do as well as he expected on the first exam. All he cares about on your CEA's is if you do the APA citations correctly. I personally would never take his class again.
DROP THIS CLASS IF YOU CAN!!!! I've never had a worse professor than Dr. Robinson. He is unkind and has the largest ego of anyone I have ever met. One of his favorite sayings is "nmp" (not my problem). I would never take a class with him again.
You think on the 1st day that he is going to be a horrible prof, but actually, really great. Drops the lowest four grades of everything like hw, test, quiz, attendance. All exams are online, final is cake. Gives extra credit but will not curve grades. Boring lectures that are useless but pop quizes and attendance matter, so go.
horrible would not recommend at all. doesn't teach anything related to the tests. He lied on the syllabus and is racist.
YOU LITERALLY GET PUNISHED FOR DOING HW if you don't get a 100 on every little thing . uses a 3rd party system to grade ur hw and RECORDS YOU ON UR COMPUTER TAKING TESTS uhm creepy. doesn't give any clarifaction when asked questions and nothing in his lecture is on the test its all thru the online stuff which has a pool of 700 questions to give u
Tough grader but drops the lowest grade for basically everything. Weekly writing assignments and offers extra credit. I don't know why people don't like him, his class isn't that bad. This is my second time taking him.
Super clear on grading, gives you four free class skips, drops the lowest 3 grades for about everything including tests and quizes, gave so much extra credit it was insane. in BXP i Learned something new everyday. Toward end of semester he stopped teaching and only showed films- annoying.
Dr. Robinson is the epitome of not only a bad teacher but also just a horrid human being. He has the biggest ego I have ever seen out of any professor (speaks in the third person in some of his emails). He does not care about any of his students and if you dare speak up against him or his policies he will make it his mission to get you. DO NOT TAKE
Probably one of the worst professors I have ever experienced. He talks down on students, thinks its his way or the high way. If you dont do something the exact way it was in his mind, he will talk infront of the class with a bad attitude and rude. He will tell you his opinion whether you want to hear it or not and wont care if he offends you either
Dr. Robinson is easily the best professor I've had so far. He gives countless extra credit opportunities, and so many of his assignments are easy completion grades/near effortless, so long as you try. He will do everything he can to provide you opportunities to gain a lot from the course, but you need to take the initiative and use them.
He wouldnt answer any of my emails, and with a major paper in the class wouldnt answer any questions about it if you emailed him. I dont recommend him whatsoever. My class was fully online and the Pearson revel sometimes didnt work and he wouldnt answer questions on that either. Makes you feel dumb as a student in my opinion
He drops your lowest homework grade, test grade, and quiz grade so that helps a ton. Don't be scared by these reviews as I was. He doesn't like getting asked questions that have already been answered in emails and the syllabus. The book material& lectures match up well& he explains in depth so just read and you'll be fine.
His lectures are a nightmare. They include terrible analogies, rants about his opinions, and frequent accusations and threats revolving around potential academic misconduct. I stopped going to his lectures a month in and taught myself the material from the book. There is a LOT of hw and the tests are very difficult. Luckily I taught myself well.
He drops your worst grade for everything including test, which is nice. He did lecture the information. But you have to read the chapters on your own and take little quizzes on your own. You basically teach yourself. Test are hard but if you study the information you will be fine.
Very opinionated. Tells stories and can be offensive but has no regard for how students feel. Locks his zoom class 10 minutes in, so if your wifi drops and you get kicked out, you have no way of getting back in. Posts all of his powerpoints which is nice, but I just read powerpoints and textbook to learn. Lectures aren't helpful. One big paper- APT
He is my favorite professor. He does make you work hard but in a way that sets you up for success in the future (in his classes, other professor's classes, and after university). He provides many extra credit opportunities and grades fairly. He is very happy to help if you need it, especially if you prove that you are doing the work.
I took his class online and his lectures were largely useless. He is very long winded and adds a lot of pointless stories. I taught myself with the pps and textbook. He also has a very insensitive and "brutally honest" attitude. It is a shame considering that the course material is actually super interesting. Only + was he dropped ur lowest grades.
His class is basically a teach yourself class. he gives his lectures to each chapter after you already took the online proctored quiz for that chapter, so its really no help at all, and he still makes attendance mandatory. i do not suggest taking a class with him.
Little did I know I was signing up for a politics class. If you dont want the political view of Dr. Robinson shoved down your throat (literally), dont take him. save yourself the headache. He's butt hurt that trump beat hillary (move on). Its a teach yourself class and good luck trying to get an answer to your emails.
Dr. Robinson is definitely not the prof if you want an easy pass. TBH the classes he teaches are the only one that are worthwhile for me (not even gonna go into how overwhelmingly white and old the psych dept is). He does give out a lot of readings and you'll need to put in work to pass his class, so don't expect to sit around and pass.
Very political heavy when it does not need to be. The quizzes and exams are on Connect and use a third party proctoring app. It requires screen sharing, mic, camera, proof of I.D, and a room scan. WTF?! It adds an element of unnecessary stress to taking simple weekly quizzes. I would much rather just an in person exam/quiz.
Mr.Robinson is a cowboys fan
Isnt the greatest professor. He shows are powerpoints full of information that is impossible to copy all down. He'll throw a 30-50 minute video on and only play 5 minutes worth because he constantly pauses them to talk. 3 books that you're reading at a time, and the "weekly" WRA assignments until the very end of the semester.
i never like to judge teachers based off how hard they are, because i don't think it's fair. but considering this is a FYS for FRESHMAN, i HIGHLY advise against taking him. i'm sure he's a lot better off teaching the things he's used to, and psych classes and all that, but do not take for an FYS. big mistake.
Loves to hear himself talk. Gives us times exams and tests with a lockdown browser?? Very wordy PowerPoints and exam questions, by the time you finish reading a question on a test you have barely anytime to think of an answer or type a response. He likes to make things difficult and super extra. Seriously opinionated. Would NEVER take him again.
Not an option but I took him for Multicultural studies. His lectures were very hard to follow because he would skip past before you could finish writing, very lecture-heavy, and attendance was also mandatory. Pretty fair grader, but he is very controversial/ political about a lot of topics. Would not recommend it.
Please don't take this class because he assigns way too much and no matter what you can't turn in an assignment late and if you do he won't accept it. He practically gave us a 10-part mid-term.
Taking Psych of the Black Experience with Robinson was challenging. He assigns A LOT of reading and documentaries to watch. However, he does grade very lightly. Expect to spend hours reading every week and to complete a paper weekly. I will say though, he is a great teacher and the class is extremely interesting.
Easy A! All you have to do is show up and do the connect assignments. Tests are outside the classroom on d2L and super easy. He allows you to use your notes so definitely take advantage of that. He likes to talk but cracks jokes to lighten the class.

Professor Robinson's class is challenging but worthwhile. Expect heavy reading and rigorous assignments, but you'll learn a lot. Unstuck ai and ChatGPT were great study aids.
Funny, interactive during lectures. Doesn't take attendance every single class period, will tell you via email and D2L when there will be AC (attendance check) so attend those days. States in beginning of the year how he works and how Connect works, make sure to read syllabus.
I haven't heard the greatest things about him, but I will say, he is very caring for his senior seminar class. He also truly helped to prepare us for our future after graduation and I do appreciate it. Attendance isn't mandatory on lecture days, but if you aren't there you may miss important information.
Dr. Robinson is very lecture-heavy. His exams were online and open-note, but they were still too difficult. He would ask for specific numbers or data from the textbook that weren't essential for our general understanding. Despite this, you can still pass the class if you complete all of the homework on time.
Dr. Robinson was ok. He's very lecture heavy but goes on tangents about his family and reads off of slides there is no point in going to his class in person because he posts the slides anyway. He does not allow technology in class but all assignments are online. Class is easy to pass if you are on top of your work 3 assignments due every thurs
I had him for Multicultural studies, I was really excited about the class. The first day I realized it was only going to be about Black vs White. I feel like I didn't really learn much about Multiculturalism at all which was a bummer to me because it's something I'm interested in. He is a very tough grader, he has his funny moments though.
I had him for multicultural studies.I would never take one of his classes again! He made class miserable and I never enjoyed a single class because he made me feel belittled. As well as an extremely strict grader. Also puts grades in so last minute and expects students to know everything. NO PHONES ALOUD AT ALL VERY STRICT.
I personally loved bro
