He teaches very well, he teaches where everyone understands what he teaches. I really enjoyed his class and plan on attending many more.

Had him for most of the biology classes required for degree. BIOL 141 and BIOL 253 were clearly understood but BIOL 251 tests were nothing compared to the notes. He is very helpful and will repeat section in class if you ask him to explain in a different manner. Shows geninue concern for his students.

He misses a lot of class his test is not easy at all. His test is very tricky most of the time so you must know your material thourghly. No guessing. Will give home take home test, they are much harder than regular in class test. wouldnt take in the summer

Mr. Russell is very easy on the eyes. He has a beautiful smile. He is always telling corny jokes. He explains the subject matter clearly and makes the class interesting. He really seems to enjoy teaching and helping his students. He was a pleasurre to have as a teacher.

And for the person who did not learn anything in the lab....stop cheating...besides Dr. Russell was only helping another instructor teach us on his own time darlin....he is the greatest

Hes a great professor uses great analogies to where you can understand. He's easy to pass but you have to be willing to put in some work.

I took him for 141 and am now taking him for A&P 251!!! love him...very easy to understand and doesn't TRY to fail you. you have to study, but if you put some hard work into it, you'll come out with an A!

The most straight forward A&P teacher and I had 2 other teachers prior to him. You don't need the book inless you want additional studying. just use the powerpoints he gives you and record his lecture. Lab 254 is not bad either, just study the material, practicals are nt as bad as what you would think they are.

BEST A&P TEACHER!! doesn't give homework or quizzes and he doesn't have pictures for you to label on any tests. Gives you mutiple chances and ways to pass his class. If you study, you will pass. Explains the material perfectly!! And of course he is good looking.

Mr. Russell is a Great teacher. He's willing to help you, just ask. I had him for A&P 251,252 & 254.. he doesnt want anyone to fail. gives take home test as bonus. His tests aren't easy. if he says it more than 1 its on the test! Just study follow ppt n take notes. I loved all of his classes & finished with A's. Also he's really cute!

Very good teacher. Obviously knows his stuff. So incredibly monotoned it may drive you insane. He will literally speak from the second he walks in until it's time to go. 1st test he said 75% got a D or lower, then we all got reprimanded. No one learns if he's speaking like the visine commercial guy and gives you 5 chapters on 1 test. Never again.

the material is hard the class can seem hard. But as long as you tape the lecture,listen to it over and overhis powerpoints and out lines you will pass. .He talks a lot but he is a genious.

He's tough but you'll learn. He gives no direction for his tests so you have to go over EVERYTHING which can be tedious. Online homework must be completed but you have until the end of the semester to finish then. Extremely monotone which can make his lectures boring but he talks about real world stuff and encourages participation.

A&P is not an easy course. He provides PowerPoints and Notes for you to use as a study tool. You take the online test through a lockdown browser and the webcam watches you and its something you have to get used to. However you have other quiz and tests that are on WileyPlus that you are responsible for that don't require all of that.

Mr. Russell is a great teacher. He gives the best lectures and he is willing to go out of his way to help any student that needs help. If you want to learn take Mr. Russell. He is very good looking

I was afraid to take the class with him because I knew he was head of the biology department and thought he would be very tough. I was wrong easiest A&P teacher I have head. The material is tough, but he is a great teacher and breaks it down to make it as easy as he can for you. As long as you study and do your online assignments you will do well.

He is the best anatomy and physiology 1&2 teacher. Took him for lab. Its based on STRICT memorization so there's no excuse for failing his class. I barely cracked open the book. He literally teaches you on what's on the test only.

I was afraid to take A&p 2 because, everybody said it was going to be harder than A&P 1. Actually I find that A&P 2 is much easier. Practicals are super easy, I barely had to study. Dr Russell is a sweet heart and he is very patient with his students. He only give you what you need to succeed, none of the extra foolishness like other instructors

I am one of those ppl that you give a study guide to, memorize it, Boom! gets an A. Can't do that w Mr. Russel. His lectures are interesting up until a certain point. STUDY THE POWER POINTS! I barely reviewed them (lack of interest) but his test come mainly from there. Thank God for the online work.. that saved my grade BIG time!

I took his BIOL 251 online and absolutely loved it! He is such an amazing teacher and cares about his students! He was quick to respond to my emails and was very helpful! If you have the chance to take his class then you should! I would take all of his classes if it was possible!

I have had other AP teachers but switched to Dr. Russell's class and found that there truly is a teacher who can teach great, cares about student's success, helps students with other classes they are taking from other instructors, and helped me and many of my friends become successful. I am now finishing nursing school. Take him for all classes!

Online class was easy enough. Not a lot of homework with solid deadlines, just needs to be completed by the end of the semester. First couple of tests were straight forward, but the last three and final seemed off. Maybe it correlates better with his on campus lecture? Regardless, his notes and power points will easily get you through.

First time taking this professor. His test are hard, he makes them himself. Do not expect to study connect assignments and pass. One of the most caring professors that I have had at DCC and is actually supportive of his students. Study his notes, PowerPoints, and read the book.

You will have to teach yourself in this course. The teacher does give a lot of assignments, so not all of your points come from the test. Requires an easy paper that counts as a test. Tests are more detailed than homework, quizzes, and practice tests so be prepared. If you're not a great test taker you can still pass this class! Good Luck! :)

Professor Russel is a fantastic instructor. I took him for both A&P I and II. The course content is high level physiology and it is difficult. His classes require a lot of studying and commitment, but he generously curves his tests. He is a great lecturer and extremely knowledgable, make sure to record his lectures for studying.

Pretty straight forward with what is expected. The online class was heavy with the online textbook learning stuff, but it wasn't weighted heavy. Several tests given that hold most of the grade for the class. A decent few opportunities for extra credit during the last stretch, enough to pull up a grade if you work for it.

Mr. Russell is hands down the best biology teacher at Delgado. He is always willing to help and really knows his stuff so he can make it easier for you to understand. You do get homework but you have all semester to finish it (I wouldn't suggest that but you can if you want lol) He also isn't bad to look at. Super cool and very helpful!

It is an online class, so you are teaching yourself. With that said, the exams are not designed to trick you, they are very straightforward and genuinely test whether you understood the core ideas of the chapters. He is a very laid back guy.

If you can or if its not too late, buy his lab manual before they stop selling it. It contains great pictures and material that is very helpful. Study and you will make an A.

I took 251 last semester with different teacher and I got F, and I had to drop. However, With Russell I got high A. Lots of extra credit. He make it easy to study and easier to understand the material.

The anatomy portion of the class was just what I expected. The physiology was overwhelming since we were taught it weeks before it was introduced in lecture. Physiology tests were tricky and I really wished the finals wouldnt have been on the same day. And, no study guide for the final. He's good, but hard.

Dr. Russell is the best! I recently took AP2 lec in summer 19 and this was the best decision I could have made. His lectures are heavy but well worth it. He helps you understand all the material and gives you what you need to know! You have to earn your grade its not given! If youre going to nursing school he will def prepare you!!

Professor Russell is one of the hardest professors I've ever taken. I took him online and really enjoyed his voice. It has that southern charm to it. He knows anatomy like the back of his hand and enjoys interactions with students. My grows would have a virtual board to draw and write on for visual learners. He could also break it down a bit more.

I took it online due to covid and I have to say this was the best lab class ever! Study the pre and post lab quiz models and the lab manual and you'll pass. He is such a nice and helpful teacher. Responds to emails quickly also.

Very tough. For an online class there's lots of information and only his lecture and the textbook to prep for it. He doesn't give a lot of extra practice material. Tests are hard but cover what's in his lectures exactly. Test require critical thinking and not simple memorization and regurgitation. Take your time on each test question!!!!

This was my favorite professor. I took him for BIO 251 (Human Anatomy & Physiology). ALL of his lectures are on YouTube and ALL of his test questions come from it. You can skim the chapter in the book, but take his lectures seriously. He was a great professor and responds to emails fast!

Thomas Russell is by far the best professor to take for both sets of anatomy and physiology. Mr. Russell gives you a lot of material as well as a lot of tips to help you through out the semester. He made me understand the material from several different aspects, which is very beneficial if you are a nursing major. I HIGHLY recommend taking him!!!!!

There are many reasons why he is in such high demand. Not only is he a sweet person and very chill, but he is a great professor. A&P in my opinion is a hard class, but he explains the material in more than one way that will be beneficial to anyone going into any allied health field. I've already reserved his class for A&P 2 lecture and lab.

The semester isn't over just yet but I'm going into the final CONFIDENT and with an A in the class overall. ABSOLUTELY NOT an easy class but if you apply time and effort you'll be just fine. Highly recommend taking this class!! I'm already registered to take him for 252 & 254 for the December semester. If you can by all means take this class.

Amazing professor! I took A&P2 with him during the winter intersession, his tests are difficult but he if very caring and wants his students to succeed. He emails back fast. I would definitely take him again. I probably would have finished with an A, had this not been a 4 week course.

I took professor Russell for Human A & P I Laboratory spring 2023 mini session (8 weeks). He is very caring, and will help you out as long as you put the effort in. He may take a little long responding to emails, but he will get back to you. I will definitely take him for A&P ll.

I have taken Professor Russel for this summer (mini session) for A&P 1. He's the best, hands down!! His syllabus is well-organized and east to navigate. Do the work and study well, and you will get a well-deserved grade. I can't wait to take his class for A&P 2 in the fall; I highly recommend him!

Professor Russell is caring. He does not give extra credit but he will offer a second chance to get it right. His lecture video are good for reviewing, he taught too fast for me, but read the material before class and study you will pass his class.

This class was the easiest I have taken as far as A&P goes and I was able to maintain a B. Detailed lectures, *create your own notes, goes over what you need to know for exams, can review online resources for extra help if needed, very nice, caring, ready to help where able, students with an A are exempt from final exam. 10/10 recommend

I took Russell for both AP 1&2 online. He is always available through zoom when needed. He gives one open book exam!! Make sure you review any missed questions on exams with him. Similar types of questions will come up on the final and you'll be glad you reviewed. I love this teacher. You will too.

Professor Russell brings the material to life through engaging lectures, and his online resources are incredibly helpful. Use Unstuck ai alongside the textbook to really master the content. The class is challenging but manageable with dedication.
