Very smart man, but he needs to realize that unlike himself, we haven't been teaching bio forever...don't just expect us to know all this crap! Not a approachable man, makes you feel stupid if you ask a question. I must say though, he does know his stuff.
If your not a "studying" kind of person, do not bother taking this class. You will fail. I had to study like crazy and tape lectures just to get a C. Out of about 25 people, the highest grade was a C+ . Mostly failures. A smart man though- knows
He sucks!!! don't ever take Anatomy w/ HIM He is very smart...but i wouldn't want him as a teacher.
I took Dr. Sarrow for botany, Vert A n P and Ecology. I thought he was great and reasonable. If you can write an essay than you will do fine.
He's a nice guy, but he's too smart for his own good. He teaches as if the students have been doctors for years and know these things already. You can study for the rest of your life and only get a C.. if you are lucky.
This man needs his caratid arterties tied in a knot because you can study untill you die and after you die and still wont pass his class i will not take this class again
He is extremely smart man and his classes are bery interesting but his test are very hard.
very nice guy, really knows his stuff.the class is great and very interesting.memorize the case studies and if you can write essays youll get an A
Seems to be more concerned with tooting his own horn than TEACHING students. Is unapproachable, does not answer questions without first making you feel stupid, sometimes makes you feel stupid and STILL not answer your questions. He is A #1 Jerk!
Sarro, sounds too much like sorrow... and if you've had him you know...
His tests are really hard. u gotta study ur butt off. if u put ureslf up for the work u'll do ok, but u cant mess around. u gotta be there to learn.
Probably the hardest course and teacher on campus. Does not offer 1 on 1 extra help and does not hand back any tests so you can see where you went wrong. He picks favorite students and makes it very clear. He is a very knowledgable man, but makes tests very unfair, often including too much material.
Unless you have taken this course in college before you won't get an A.He isn't approachable & if you ask him a question he will 1st make you feel stupid, ad you still might not even get your question anwsered. He knows his material and expects the student to know everything he knows. Most don't pass
read prior comments....i agree with all of them
ok here is the deal A&P one and two are hard thats a def given. I took A&P at my current school its hard but i have a great prof. that u can go to and is there for his students. Sarro makes students feel stupid. He is the head of the dep. thats y we cant say much..hey new A&P students GOOD LUCK lol
first of all..he ALWAYS lets you see your tests after you take them. he's brilliant and he always has the labs open and will give help if you ask. most ppl are lazy and wont ask n its much easier to complain about it. the class is hard no matter where u take it. hell give u the education u need so
he's hard as hell and his tests made me want to cry i even did a few times, but i did learn a lot
No Comments
i could not stand this man. he makes u feel like a moron when u ask a question and makes it impossible to do labs if ur a commuter. no time to do lab in class and tells u to come back at night.

This guy is so into what he is teaching that there is no way you can't understand him. He's great. Because he loves what he's talking about it's so easy to get. His classes are tough, there is no doubt about that. But you learn so much it is definitely worth the extra study hours.

this man is a genius, he is so smart its crazy. he teaches the whole class with out ever opening the book. he is hard but its worth it, you learn a lot from him. A&P is just a hard class no matter who teaches it, but he is definitely a good teacher, he knows what he is teaching and gets so into it, he tries to help a lot by giving lots of examples to make you understand
i hate him
His Field Bio class was amazing and his study guides really help. He is an amazingly dynamic professor.
This man does know a lot. But I think he doesn't want other people to succeed. He is impossible to approach and ask questions. He even made a girl in my class cry and told her she wouldn't be a very good nurse. I have now taken A&P 1 and 2 and microbiology at other colleges and have gotten a B+ or higher on all.
He works you hard, but he's fair. He's very, very clear, and his analogies are great. His exam questions are insanely specific, so be sure to study very hard!
I don't get what people are talking about when they say he's a good teacher. You can study for hours, recite his lectures by heart and still get at best a C on exams. He is a terrible teacher, doesn't answer questions, makes students feel that they are to blame when the WHOLE class fails. It should tell him something about himself if you ask me
He is a very intelligent man, there's no doubt about that but he makes the exams so ridiculous it turns more people off of nursing than on.
His teaching methods are boring.
Told class off the bat that only 1/2 of us would move on to A&P 2...tests were very hard and specific and I put at least an hour if not more into studying for A&P a night...not very approachable..I asked to speak with him once about my grades and he told me to make an appointment on his door! Dropped the course to save my GPA!
doesn't "teach" merely guides through the subjects - you're basically teaching yourself and doesn't care to develop rapport with students in general
Very intelligent professor. Will help as long as you take the time to read and understand the book.Exams are hard but if you understand the material, you will pass. Also, try to read the material before lecture. This will help you understand the material more and feel free to ask him any questions during lecture.
He is a very nice teacher but the class is very hard. The exams are crazy. He is funny and nice but be prepared to study for hours and still get a C or D. This is the class where we lose most of the nursing students. I do really like Sarro. He isn't out to get us. Its not him its the class itself. His notes are very general. You need to study the t
he is a good teacher and has great silly analogies. be prepared to study for hours though, because the tests are hard.
he is the best! hard but fair. Amazing teacher!
you can study so hard and still manage to just pass or fail the class.
Dr. Sarro was by far my favorite professor. His class is rigorous but really prepares you for the nursing program. I still go to him if I have a question and he always explains in a clear way. His "sily little analogies" are fabolous and I still remember them
The man is brilliant, however if you intend to do well in this anatomy class, 99% of the time you will be teaching yourself simply because there is not enough time to learn everything in a given lecture class. Invest in index cards. I know many people, half of the class, that failed but it is possible to get an A- because I did.
Dr. Sarro is a great professor and i would recommend him. His exams are extremely difficult and studying is MUST. Alot of time needs to be invested into his class in order to pass. I learned alot of information and he has prepared me for future nursing classes.
Sarro is one of the best teachers I ever had but he is also one of the hardest teachers I ever had. He really knows his stuff and his tests are ridiculous. I could put in 40 hours on studying and walk out with a 70 on a test! BE PREPARED to study. Most people are just happy to pass the class and half of the people will drop.
Very very tough professor. Great guy, very approachable and very into the subject. He will explain anything to you if you ask him to, but that will not mean you will get the question right on the test. Should start studying a month before the test. You should Read chapters before even beginning the chapter in class. Very tough but a very smart man.
Dr. Sarro is smart, he knows what he is talking about. His tests are difficult but they doable if you study a lot. He says that you need to ask questions but when you do he talks to you like you are stupid. He reminds the class daily when the drop date is. He is not very motivational! He will recommend a change of major even when most people do bad
Awesome teacher. You can tell he really wants his students to learn and understand the material, even if that means being a little more challenging than others may want. If you go to class, read and outline the text, go over his power points, there is no reason you should do bad. Class is hard, but the field you will be entering will be the same.
I had Dr. Sarro for A&P 1&2 and was probably one of the worse teachers i have every had throughout my educational career. Starting the year with over 160 kids in 4 sections and after first semester about 80 failed his class due to the hard test. After 2nd Semester there were only about 30 students. His test are extremely hard and will not help you
The only thing that i can really say about Dr. Sarro is he is god awful. i would study for hours for this class and none of what i studied was on his test. His test are impossible to pass and when you go to his office hours he refuses to help you and talks down to you. DO NOT TAKE HIM
This is the most difficult class I took my freshman year of college. I would study for hours each day at least a week prior to the tests and still score in the 70's. Be prepared to work and don't blame Dr. Sarro for the difficulty of the material you must learn. He is incredibly knowledgeable and is willing to help if you just ask.
Absolutely horrible teacher. He constantly talks down to his students, and always reminds them on how bad people were doing. Do not recommend taking him for anatomy 1 or 2. His tests are extremely difficult, even after studying for weeks.
Sarro is the best anatomy prof. The material being taught isnt easy. Most students get 70s but students with different profs do as well. Its just the course. He is VERY helpful if you approach him. I recommend him. I had him for lab and liked that my lab went with the lecture perfectly. He is the head of anatomy so i think its best to have him.
Dr.Sarro is nice and will help you if you ask. I went to his office a lot and he always helped me throughout the year. I learned a lot but his tests were so hard it does not reflect how much I had learned. You MUST read the text book and do the online homework or you won't do well at all.
Took him for A&P 1 and 2. The course takes dedication and time, if you're not willing to put the time in you will NOT get a good grade. His tests are hard but he has never put something on them that we haven't gone over. Online homework's are IMPORTANT. Respect him and he will respect you. Wonderful and funny man. Just read read read and good luck.
The most amazing professor I've ever had by far. Always there to help and really makes sure the students understand the material. Not an easy professor, but it's also not an easy profession. Don't expect an A if you don't work very hard for it. I wish I could take his class all day. Amazing person as well as professor. Study hard and understand it
Test are very detailed. Had to repeat this course.
Dr Sarro comes off nice during lecture, but when you go to office hours he is very arrogant and talks down to students. He claimed he was always open to help, but does not seem too concerned with helping students. Did very well in A&P 1 with a different professor, and had to fight to pass this course. DO NOT TAKE HIM. AVOID HIM.
Dr. Sarro is an incredible smart professor. He uses analogies to make understanding the material as easy as possible, with that being said, the amount of information you have to learn is extensive but it can be done. His tests are difficult but are much easier if do the connect! He is a great guy and offers a lot of help if you tell him you need it
The class is based upon the textbook, you MUST read in order to pass this class. Lectures only enforce whats taught in the textbook. Make sure you study in advance for his tests, and DO NOT let the work pile up, you will die. His analogies help make the material easier to cope with and the questions on the tests are very straight forward.
He is a good man, but his lectures can be confusing. Make sure you really try and go to extra help. Use his power points, read the textbook, and do connect!
Professor Sarro is very knowledgable. I understood the material better than I did in A & P 1 but his tests tripped me up. I studied for them a week in advance and still got in the 60's. I read the chapters & did the connects, which I believe the connects did not help that much. He will give you up to 3 extra credit points if you do all the connects
Be ready to read the textbook... A LOT. His lectures are very vague for the simple fact that they are really just to reinforce everything that you should have read in the textbook. The textbook comes with a website called Connect and I feel as if that helped me more than anything. His tests are quite confusing but just make sure to know the terms.
Makes the course much harder than it has to be. I highly recommend not having him for A&P lecture if there is another choice. Test are extremely hard, you MUST study many hours EACH day. He is very sweet and knowledgeable but is a very difficult teacher.
Very tough professor. Exams are difficult. Requires a ton of studying to do well. Offers extra credit but requires a lot of work. Very open to help with any questions. Allows you to review exams after they are graded. Lectures are extremely important to attend as they are very helpful and thorough.
You will definately come out of this class with a solid knowledge of anatomy.
Read read and reread the text, and do aalll of the extra credit although it will take you hours on end and take up most of your free time. You will basically be spending any time you are not in his class studying for his class. Lecture will not help you with his complex test questions, the answers will be in the part of you text you decide to skip
Worst professor ever! You can study every piece of material and study for hours and still fail. His tests are extremely difficult and unfair. They are a guessing game. He does not help you if you go to him he'll just tell you to go see a tutor.
great professor but extremely hard, he defiantly makes you work for your grade and isn't very lenient. I noticed him mark a question wrong on a test and he didn't give me the points because he said 2 points is nothing.. but he is a nice guy if you struggle with tests dont take him.
Dr. Sarro is a great professor, if you stay on top of your work and devote the 1-2 hours he recommends a night on AP, you will do well in his class. go to his office hours and review your tests, he has more compassion towards the students that put in the time outside of lecture.
This professor is awful. He sits infront of the class the whole time and just reads off his slides. You have 4 final exams basically worth your whole grade and to study for one, you need to pretty much review 400 slides from his powerpoints. He sets his students up for failure
hard class! you have to WORK for your grade, but if you put in the time and effort it will be worth it in the end.I had him for both semesters of A&P I and II and earned an A because I worked my ass off. Do the extra credit and study ALL the power points even the ones he says "aren't important." Reading the textbook+ atlas helpful Good Luck!'
The only thing i can remember from a&p is some analogy about a peanut on a stair and the fact he got bit by a cat once. Couldnt tell you what that meant or what he was talking about. Waste of my time. Basically if it wasnt for another professor i would be taking this class again with this horrible man. Hope you like to read textbooks! SMD Tom
you study and you still won't pass. my friend needed a 145 to pass the final halfway through the semester
Very difficult, and actually rude. He was disrespectful. Very difficult tests. Makes you want to rethink life.
I have him for A&P1 Lab and he reads the powerpoint for the first hour, then we have the option to leave if we want. All quizzes are based on memorization. The practicals are all the quizzes jumbled into one. Questions are chosen at random and all quizzes and exams are taken on the computer and you receive your grade immediately.
If you see this mans name on your schedule RUN, DROP OUT, CHANGE SCHOOLS. Your dreams of any major that involves A&P are gone. Don't even worry about studying because no matter how much you study you WILL fail every test. I promise do not even bother trying this is the worst thing you could ever put yourself through. You may actually commit.
the people who hate sarro are also generally the people who are getting drunk on weeknights and every weekend and not studying until they realize their grade is bad. Put the effort in and he'll give the same effort back. Its a hard course but its not because of the professor. (tips: do all the homework, study modules, and read textbook!)
The absolute worst professor I ever had during my college career. I do not recommend him to anyone... unless you're a pretty girl with a nice smile. I had the numerical value needed to pass his class and he did not pass me because I "didn't deserve it" no logic or reasoning given. Should be responsi the 5K for extra summer classes I needed to take.
Worst professor I have had in my college career. He reads extremely fast through powerpoints, barely explains the information, not helpful when seeking extra help during office hours, & no study guides to help focus the 300-400 slides for each exam. Would not recommend taking his class. I thought people were exaggerating on here but their right
Professor Sarro gets a generally bad rep however I really enjoyed his class this semester. Anatomy is not an easy class but it is totally manageable. I recommend doing all the online homework for excellent practice and extra credit. Show you are putting the time in and you will have his respect, a fair teacher. Tests are 50% of grade be careful.
If you have this professor RUN. DROP OUT. DO ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING YOU CAN TO NOT HAVE THIS MAN AS A PROFESSOR. He is downgrading, not helpful, and doesnt care about you as a student at all. Good luck say a prayer if you have him.
A&P is a very HARD course but I promise you it's NOT the professor. Dr. Sarro is a very intelligent man. He tells you right off the bat if you're not devoting at least 1-2 hours a night studying then you're going to fall behind, since there's A LOT to cover within a short amount of time. If he sees you putting in effort he will respect you.
Very good professor, very understanding but he makes sure you have a good understanding in order for you to pass. Very easy to talk to and has a lot of office hours
He is definitely passionate about his teaching. But, he does not care about helping students when they are struggling. He is not very accessible outside of class and dismissed outside questions. He gets the material out to the students but more shoves it down their throats rather than having them digest it and understand.
Undeniably difficult but he teaches to the best of his ability. He breaks down difficult concepts into simpler, more relatable ones. Although I dont 100% agree with how he runs his classroom, I still respect him as a teacher. My biggest advice is doing your best, dont let these reviews get in your head! Beggars cant be choosers.
Heading into freshman year hearing different opinions about this professor made me quite anxious in the beginning. However, if you are assigned or take Dr. Sarro, you will be FINE!! Dr. Sarro cares about his students and while he does make you work for your grade, if you study you will pass. READ TEXTBOOK BEFORE CLASS, DONT SKIP, DO EXTRA CREDIT!!!
Dr. Sarro was the worst professor I've ever had. He DOES NOT care about his students. Oddly enough, he takes pride in the fact that more than half of his class fails it. DONT TAKE HIS CLASS.
RUN whatever you do DO NOT take this class no matter how much time you put in you'll never get higher than a 70 on a test! Before taking this class I thought some of these reviews were a bit dramatic no they were dramatic enough this man is the worst teacher ever!!! No help whatsoever doesn't teach just gives 500-page slide show SAVE YOURSELF RUN!!
Speachless about the fact that a college would keep a professor like this
Worst teacher/professor I have met in my entire life. He has little to no interest in his students, and is simply just rude. His grading policies are harsh, and lecture exams are impossible. The exams are based on details he never covers in his lectures; and the lectures are just a bunch of metaphors that make no sense. Avoid this class.
I was honestly very scared to take Sarro for a&p2 after everything I'd heard about him from students who took him for a&p1. Going into his class I did not know what to expect, but I will say this, keep up on watching the recorded lectures, and in-class lectures and you will be fine. Study!! He wasn't as bad as I thought. I passed on my hard work.
Can you pass? Maybe. Prob not. This class was horrible. The reviews aren't dramatic, it was absolutely horrible. People who devoted their lives to this class failed. This class will consume you. However, I do believe he's a nice person. Make sure you go to his office hours with any questions, he's easier to talk to in that setting. GL, u need it!
He's great if you put in the work, he's helpful in class and during office hours, and provides a lot of resources to prepare for the tests. The tests are pretty hard but mostly reasonable, some questions are unfair, but if you go to his office hours and talk to him, he might give you credit for the questions.
Dr. Sarro was one of my favorite professors!! He gets such a bad rep just because he teaches a very hard class. If you put in the work you will be just fine!! You need to take advantage of his office hours and he will be happy to help you if you have any questions. He is brutally honest but really cares about his students and wants them to succeed!
Sarro does not care about his students. He is rude&arrogant&puts students down. You would have to memorize over 300+ slides for a test 2 weeks later. The test would also be a minimal part of the lesson and not the major topic.Homework for this class would take me over 7 h/pw, no studying yet. office hours, did not help- he just was degrading to kids.
Professor Sarro is probably one of the best professors that I have had in my 5 years of school. His class is hard but what should you expect going into an ANATOMY class. He does care about his students if they care about him and his lecture and will give help. If you cant work with him and know the material them maybe you shoudn't work with people.
Sarro, gives students so many opportunities to do well. If you watch the pre recorded lectures before class and take notes, you will be able to enjoy his lectures and ask questions on what you need to. The best way to pass and do well in his class to prepare for class and utilize his pre recordings. He sets students up for nursing extremely well
tests are extremely hard. you have to put an insane amount of time towards his class.
If you have trouble sitting in lectures normally, do not take him. He just drones on and on over presentations of sometimes over 100 slides. The tests are never on what he claims and if you don't put in hours and hours outside of class you will not pass. He is very sassy and stand off-ish especially if you aren't doing great in his class.
worst guy ive ever met in my life
SO hard. He's a nice guy but you will have no social life. Tests go very in detail and no matter how much studying you do, your grade will not be good. Go to his office hours and read the textbook in depth. Good luck, you will need it? :)
I took A&P II with him in Spring 2022. I have mixed feelings. His lectures were helpful but his tests are in extreme detail. You really do have to know everything in the course. You basically have to study around the clock with barely enough time to eat or sleep. I would not take this professor again willingly. Good luck.
The worst professor in existence. please retire. nobody enjoys your classes.Every student drop him and take professor Herper
Dr. Sarro is such a sweet professor, he can be quite intimidating but he's worth getting to know. He teaches a difficult subject and you have to be ready to put the work in. It's not easy, but I felt like his class set me up for the rest of the nursing program and how to properly study. Make the time to study, go to tutoring, and put the time in!
I definitely think that A&P is a content heavy course and can be viewed as intimidating to others but it is manageable. I feel like if you put the time in & utilize everything on EClass to study it isn't hard to achieve a B+ or an A. Sarro is really nice and pretty easy to reach outside class and enjoys helping his students so utilize his hours.
Class started rough. Lots of reading & memorization vs. learning. It got easier throughout the weeks but was very intense. He wasn't always the best w/communicating. Students in the class weren't helpful with group study either. It felt like every man for themselves. In the end, I passed. But only because I did the work. He needs to retire badly.
Make sure you find a good study method and schedule. Do many practice tests with varying information, there will be difficult concepts with easy questions and easier concepts with difficult questions. Group study!!
Sarro's class is tough, but engaging with his teaching style pays off. The lectures are dense, but going to class and using tools like unstuck ai can really help. Tough grader, but worth it if you put in the work.
One of the most sarcastic professors I have met. I do not understand why he is still a professor at MSMC but he needs to retire. He claims to love his job but I think he just likes belittling his students. And the craziest thing is that even other professors/staff members have said the same things I said. If you have him SWITCH PROFESSORS ASAP.
Never engages with his class. Needs to retire.
Second semester w/this professor. Much better this go around but so hard to figure him out & this course is too in depth for what it's worth. I respect the amount of info it holds but we did not get all the time needed. In the end got a B, and it's over. Just be prepared to really do the work!
I've enjoyed these past couple semesters with Prof. Sarro, he's a really sweet and intelligent person. I think the hatred around him mainly comes from the people who don't put the work in. I also believe that spring semester (a&p II) is a little bit more challenging than the fall semester (a&p I). Overall, interesting courses and a good professor.
Dr. Sarro is a phenomenal professor. Don't listen to the reviews saying negative things. He is preparing you for the world of nursing and medicine. I've spoken to him on numerous occasions— and I am not an A+ student— and when you show concern for your grades and have the want to do well, he will be receptive!! I would take him again and again.
I would rather re-live high school than take this professor again.
Dr. Sarro is really great. Don't listen to the negative reviews-- its not hard to just study and put the work in. If this is something you really want then you will do it.
Read the PowerPoint before the lecture, while simultaneously reading the textbook chapter; write down any additional details that the PP may lack. STAY ON TRACK AND AHEAD OF THE ASSIGNMENTS! Ask questions and participate in the lecture, he keeps note of these people and it works in your favor. Don't be discouraged
