If you're looking for a professor who WON'T put you to sleep, Dr. Segady is definitely someone you want to make room for in your schedule. While there may be plenty to study for each exam, none of the material is vague and there are no trick questions.

This guy is great! He's the coolest professor I've had. He's very clear with his material, he understands what he's teaching, has great examples, and the tests are multiple guess. THIS ISN'T A BLOW OFF CLASS, but who would want to blow it off anyways?

this was a great class. Dr. Segady really knows his stuff and he makes it interesting. Test are easy. He tells you what will be on each test and there are only 4 of them. No Pop Quizzes. Final is not comprehensive. Take this class!!!

I had Dr. Segady for my Soc 137 class and again for Sociology of Religion this semester. Take this class! The tests are short, the essay questions are very straight forward and the class is an absolute blast. He brings in lots of guest speakers and uses lots of movies and documentaries.

i took him for intro to sociology, and he was the easist and most interesting teacher that i have ever had. just go to class and he will entertain u the whole time that u r in there. which on some days, was only 30min. if i could take him again for another class, i would. EASY A

This is by far the best teacher at SFA...he is very informative and very helpful. If you need any help at all find a way to make it to the SI groups and you will be fine

Hey, this class is the best! He is really helpful, he keeps everything interesting and fun! The SI...Kim is really cool too! She makes it understandable and clears up any questions just like Dr. Segady. They are both great and he is a wonderful teacher that actually knows what the hell he is talking about! Finally someone does know what's going on!!!!

Dr. Segady is very hilarious and makes the class very enjoyable. Gives you a review sheet before each test that tells you EXACTLY what will be on the test. You dont really need the book, about 90% of the test comes from lecture. I'd highly recommend taking his class.

I loved Dr. Segady! He was my absolute favorite teacher this term! He will get distracted in class by things like the Wal-Mart song, but it makes the class interesting. Go by his office to talk to him and he help you with anything. His tests are fairly easy and if you go to SI you won't have a problem. He is very funny! I highly recomend him!

Really gets involved with the students, so expect to do some talking. Acts like anything his students say is the most profound thing he's ever heard - it's great for your esteem. All round nice guy. Don't buy the sociology textbook, he gives out a review and answers any questions you may have. All our tests were in short answer format.

One of the BEST professors I've ever had! He keeps you awake and is very intelligent. He gives out great reviews before the test and if you study them you'll do just fine. You don't really need your textbook. I pulled off a high B without it. I would highly recommend him.

I took Dr. Segady's honors Intro. to Sociology Fall '06 and loved it. I got an A. I can give a better rating of his class as I am now his SI leader. For his current class: you can get by without the book, but he does use more info from it than most of these ratings tell you. If you attend the SI review before the test, you won't need it at all.

I absolutely love Professor Segady! He is simply an amazing professor. He's able to keep your attention on Sociology and make the course interesting. His stories make for interesting discussion, and always pertain to the lesson. The class is mostly lecture, but you should follow along in your book and study it, too, for the tests.

The world's nicest man, no joke. Always pleasant, smiling, helpful and always willing/wanting to talk with his students. Lectures have depth while being easy going and well explained. Test are essay format, which may scare some people, but he grades fairly and if he knows you know the general concept of what you're explaining, you'll be fine.

Dr. Segady is the nicest guy you can meet. The class has a perfect blend of depth/material and class participation. I never once used the book and he pretty much gives you the test as a review the day before the actual test. He does have a SI, which again goes over the test. Easiest A you can make at SFA. Highly recommended.

They don't call him, "St. Segady" for nothing! Here is an incredibly intelligent, dedicated and passionate professor discussing the topic he, although won't admit it, cares most about. He is in his element in this course, more so than in anything else he teaches, which says a LOT! If you are a Soc major, take Soc. of Religion. You won't be sorry!

Professor Segady is awesome. He obviously loves this subject and he really cares about getting to know his students. HOWEVER. This class is not an "easy A." You HAVE to study because his lectures are always all over the place. You have to put forth effort, but you're in college, you should already expect that. Go to SI's, they help tremendously.

Professor Segady is the nicest man & so laid back. his class was super easy. Relates his lecture to real world situations so it is very easy to understand & remember. He also uses a lot of very interesting movies to show real world examples. Gives very detailed reviews not only before exams but throughout the entire lecture. Would take him again

Professor Segady made my early sociology class a lot more enjoyable! He's nutty and makes learning seem like fun. He'll bring up a bunch of different sociology experiments and shows videos. 10 out of 10 I recommend!

I loved taking him. His class was easy as long as you showed up. Lectures would take all class but you only take like a half page of notes. Test were east. I'd take him again because I enjoyed the class that much. He also shows videos in class but you usually will never get to see the end. Textbook is not mandatory as long as you pay attention.

He is seriously one of the nicest professors on this campus. It is almost impossible to fail his class, and his lectures are all very interesting. The book would have been helpful, but I never bought it and I did just fine. He seriously is a great guy!
