Does not teach to the essays or focus on what u need to know. Doesn't answer &#
Negative comments are wrong. Pay attention and you 'll pass it's that easy.

I think his class was interesting. He helps you if you need it.
The only class I have ever failed, ever!!! Tests are impossible.
First teacher to make me cry.
Hardest Class That I Ever Took....Sucked
go to class, take notes, read, study. lots of extra credit available too. EASY.
Lectures are ok, paper was easy, but the # of essays on test was a little much
very tough! never knew what to take notes on. take edward clayton
Lots of extraneous information. Nice guy though. Be prepared to study alot.
Worst teacher at CMU...DO NOT TAKE HIM! He is very bad and lecutes on his opinions, never know what the tests will be on....BEWARE IF YOU HAVE HIM!
I loved Stewie! His tests are not hard AT ALL if you just go to class- don't buy the book, all you need is your notes
By in far the worst teacher i ever had in my life. If you have him just drop it now
Disagree with the negative comments. Listen, take notes, pay attention to the anecdotes and examples. Easy to guess potential essay questions. Never had to study anything other than my notes for tests. Enjoyed throuoghly.
AWFUL. I am a very good student and had lots of trouble. his tests sucked and were irrelevant. DO NOT TAKE!!!
worst professor at CMU. Be prepared to study intensively for irrelevant tests on his opinions. He takes info from little side-bars in the book and asks questions on the test about them. If you have a differing opinion, then you are wrong. BEWARE!!
WORST CLASS EVER! HE WILL MAKE YOU HATE POLITICS. HE GAVE ME MY FIRST AND ONLY C EVER. I COULDN'T STAND THAT CLASS AND I THINK HE SHOULD BE NIXED FROM CMU.
he is a great teacher its us students who dont follow our own politics I got a D 1st exam but I came out with A. Study, see him during office hours he is great. students are too playful thas why they failed
He is one of the worst professors I've ever had. His tests are extremely hard and that movie paper he has you do is so trivial. Don't take this class with him.
Intersting class, great guy! Whoever thinks this class is hard needs a serious reality check and maybe should lay off the crack pipe. Good Opinions!
At first, he seems funny and outgoing. He is willing to let class out early and doesn't care if his studnets don't pay attention. When you get to the tests, it's a completely different story. His tests are hard, and come from no where.
First test is killer b.c you really dont know what to expect...but then you get used to how to study for his class...i ended up with a B+ and i did work alot but its interesting and hes funny...its a good class to take i think...interesting
If you pay attention and take reasonably good notes, everything will be fine. He basically tells you exactly what will be on your tests, if you just listen. He is always willing to explain things, and he will sta after class and discusses unclear topics.
The guy is cool as hell and the only reason people do poorly in his class is because they don't know &%#* about our own government. If you have trouble go back to high school.
His tests are 15 questions, we only have to answer 4! He is an easy grader whose essays are so easy...study an hour before the exam and youll do fine..highly reccommended! and he is huggable!
stewart is hilarious and usually ready to help students out. there's no homework and only like 3 tests. its definitely a class i would recommend
VERY good teacher! The class was easy, only 3 tests and 1 paper, I'm not normally a good writer and I got a 100 on my paper. Just wish he taught other classes. If you go to class, you will do well.
If you go to class and take good notes you will be fine. His tests are over the notes that you take. Good teacher.
great teacher. very helpful. pay attention but its interesting so its cool. hes a cool dude, funny, i went to class **** once and i think he knew but didnt care. tests are tough but if u look over notes and pay attention youll do fine

The best teacher I have had at Central. If you want to take this class and actually plan on attending, get Stewart because he is the best out there.
Funny, random humor!
Pleasantly suprised here. Class is entirely lecture, but Stewart is extremely sharp and charismatic.
Excellent proffesor. It's a lecture course but he really gets the class into the discusion. Great sense of humor! You'll actually look forward to this course...and he'll let class out early a lot.
Bad teacher, grades very hard.
Awesome guy, really promotes group discussion, and makes the class relate to your life.
He is a awesome speaker and lectures are very interesting
Great Proff. The class was great but test a alittle hard. Study notes and you will do fine.
Hard teacher. Grades hard and expects too much for the way he teaches the class. Thanks to him I have to retake the class. Switch teachers if you get him.
Good teacher if you already know your stuff.
He expects a lot from you on the tests but his lectures are really interesting. He goes over stuff in detail up until the review when he's really careful about what he says. So overall hard tests but interesting classes.
Fun class, interesting lecture, hot girl sat next to me...good experience all together. Tests take a little work but not impossible by any means. Do well on writing portions of the tests and you'll do fine. God Bless
Great teacher! His lectures filled with information and facts. On tests, the multiple choice is tricky and but essays are easy and they are the key to a good grade, not the multiple choice. I usually got a C/D on mult-choice, but 100% A on essays!TAKE HIM
Seriously he excepts you to know everything before he teaches it. He doesn't give good notes, he doesn't take things from the book, you have no way to actually figure out how to study for his tests....impossible!!
Tests are a little challenging, but I think he knows what he is talking about, and does not tell or show the class what side of an issue he is on, I have really enjoyed this class, and would take a class from him again, he is pretty funny too.
hard class. no idea what to study for on the tests. studied half the amount of time for 300 level classes and passed those tests, but psc105 tests are hard. don't take this teacher.
If there were zeros on this scale i would use them
Stewart is the best psc prof ever
Do not take this class. He gives horrible notes, is a jerk, and if you dont understand he doesnt care..he expects you to know everything.
I love goverment and politics and I'm lucky if I pass the tests. Its rediculous how he grades the essays! Choose a different teacher!!!! Keeps class interesting but it isn't worth the grade!
DO NOT TAKE THIS GUY! He is a total jerk and makes me want to scream! He lost one of my tests, and was no help in finding it! I started the semester liking poli sci, but this guy made me totally hate it.
so...DON'T TAKE THIS PROF!!! Never had to try and guess so hard as to what was on a test. Sure he reveiws, but it's more or less a huge waste of time. This class isn't worth the stress with this guy!!
Its difficult to understand what the tests will be over. His review consists of students asking him ?'s, not him telling you what to study. It's rather pointless. He makes you subscribe to a stupid newspaper that you only use once for an extra credit
Basically if you know how to write essays you're fine! i would totally screw up on the MC section of his exams and get all the points on the essays, making my grades A's. Nice guy, funny at times
HARDEST psc class ever. This guy is a joke. Doesn't help you out with reviews and guessing what will be on the exam is so hard!
Do not take this class! You do to horribly, no matter how hard you work! He is an awful teacher. Good luck guessing what is on the tests.
His essay questions are very hard. He justs talks in class, but tests hard- class was super boring!!
Stewart is a GREAT professor. Very knowledgable and fun. Awesome sense of humor. Easily my favorite professor ever.
I didn't enjoy the class. I didn't do well due to umclear instructions and lack of interaction. He wasn't in his office during office hours when I tried to contact him, either.

Worst Professor EVER. He tries to push his opinion on us instead of letting us THINK.
Wonderful teacher and human being. PSC 224 was my favorite class. cares about students. tends to get off topic, but you can have fun with that.
Stewart's an amazing teacher. If you go to class and actually listen you'll do fine on the essays. MC q's are based on reading. If you actually attend class and do the little work required, you'll do more than fine in the class. Simple and interesting
HORRIBLE TEACHER!! WORST ONE EVER!! HARD HARD CLASS!!!! AVOID!!!!
I'll save you time.......DONT TAKE HIM. I love history and politics too. Real nice guy and not a bad teacher but the class is pretty hard and the tests have nothing to do with the lectures.
Notes seem a little off the topic of his test. Very borning and the class is kinda hard.

I honestly don't have one complaint about this man. He gives very thorough lectures, that aren't DIRECTLY from the book. Throws in local and real world information. A great man. But you DO have to study.
This teachers lectures are very boring and he goes off topic often. His exams are harder than ever. He grades essay very hard so add everything you can to them.
Hard class..you have to study to do well. He grades hard!
worst prof. ever no doubts about that
Oh my God.....Hes not a good teacher...I failed and I dont fail. Half the people i talked to failed.......dont take this old man!
He's a nice guy and his comments are usually very interesting, but grades are based entirely on tests and one essay.
nice guy, knows his stuff, but the class is structured bad. Only 4 grades taken (3 exams and 1 paper) I may fail
Hes a cool guy and knows his stuff w/o ever questioning himself. You have to be willing to study though or your in trouble. The tests are hard and essay's have to flawless. Hes fun though, and w/ that said i would still recomend him.
So, if you are a complete dork and love political science with all your heart (including wearing stickers for John Kerry on your backpack), take this guy. If you don't know a thing about PS, good luck! He assumes you know stuff and is very unclear!
If you are taking this class for government pick a different professor. Stewart picks out his favorate students and bases the class on their wants and needs. His class is basically a debate class and if you dont have his views then you wont pass the class
if you all think his class is hard you must be a freshman. classes this easy dont come along very often, yeah u gotta study but the cases are interesting, besides when else will you learn to back talk a cop
not too bad because only grades upon 3 tests and a term paper... make sure to go to class though, he takes attendance, and that is where he got most people.
Very nice guy. Has a good sense of humor, will joke with students, and also knows what he is talking about. The material will seem very intimidating at first, but tests are easy. Write a lot. Offers extra credit as well. I got a 110% in the class.
Horrid class, the tests are a nigtmare because the questions are so unclear and the answers and biased towards his views. I guess if you are into PSC then its not horrible but for people who just need the credit, its awful.
MAKE SURE TO ATTEND CLASS, I would have had an A, but I got a C+ because of his attendence policy. He is also very liberal, which I don't agree with and his tests follow his ideology. Very bias class, tests come from notes.
He knows his stuff, but that doesnt mean he's good at teaching it. Take another professor for sure, this guy doesn't know how to teach and grades insanely too hard on his tests.
No****ting, best teacher you'll have. Knows politics etremely well but makes it interesting and applicable to students. No homework, just show up and listen. Tests are fine he reviews. Booyah.
I don't like his class at all!! He knows what he's talking about but doesn't know how to teach it, he grades really hard!!! I would definetly recommend someone else!
He assumes you know about political science and unless you have some background knowledge then good luck! If you do take him then dont bother buying the christian science moniter.
Very nice guy, he's funny and easy to listen to. However, his teaching style is not so great - no structure, just random notes. All you do is watch movies. Go to the class before the exams and he'll review. Other than that it's a waste of time.
lectures are almost always interesting, so it's worth going (plus he takes attendance). Tests are kinda hard, so make sure to study well before tests. Don't both with the Christian Science Monitor. Other than that, good prof.
****... enough said. He plays favorites, and gets you to subscribe to the Christian Science Monitor, which is a waste. Never take him.
He tries his best to make a very uninteresting subject interesing. His tests are somewhat easy as long as you go to class the day before the test, he will explain everything again. Attendance policy sucks, but you still should go. Don't bother with the Christian Science Monitor - there's no point
if you have a problem with this guy then you are just a lazy bum.
My only problem with this guy was that my Government teacher in high school should have been a prof at an Ivy League, he's so smart, and Stewart just couldn't compare to that. However, he's pleasant and the discussions are interesting... SHOW UP! Tests aren't too bad.
Totally great! I hate government classes and usually do bad in them. I have an A in his class. Easy to learn from. GO TO THE REVIEW DAY. Very good review the day before the test to get all of your facts straight. Fun class to go to. Christian Science Monitor: don't subscribe, waste of money.
I have this class right now and I didn't want to take it b/c I never had government before, and I was scared. I currently have a high B. So, it's not that bad. He doesn't make you feel uncomfortable in class, but I do fall asleep sometimes... maybe I'm too comfortable.
he did a good job explaining stuff, his exams weren't that hard
A lot of his discussions are very unclear. Some days he is good and others horrible. Class is 3 exams and one paper. Takes attendence everyday..I would try to take someone else if you can...If you are not interested in this subject like me and have to take it you might be screwed.
Sure, he takes attendance every day, but the class is interesting, informative, AND easy to pass, so long as you make an effort to attend and pay attention to his lectures. If you can't do that much, what are you doing in college?
He is crazy and he always forgets what he is talking about. If you want to get him off track just ask him a random question...and you will be off in left field for the rest of the hour. The class is easy but make sure to study for the tests...they aren't the easiest!
Stewart is a good teacher, and his class is easy if you take good notes. He explains everything really well. No busy work, which is a plus. Just study and do well on the exams and you will do fine.
If you have a basic, and I mean basic, understanding of Government when you enter this class, you'll be fine. He knows what he talks about, but can go off on to a tangent at times. Pay attention, and take notes. If you miss a few classes, you won't fail. Also, a plus, he doesn't give out minues.
Loved the class! He's very interesting and is a great lecturer, but at times you do want to dose off. Tests are a little hard but if you study you will do fine. You really a learn a lot with him teaching and he likes to add humor into the class.
Great Prof! He pretty much lets the class decide on due dates and test format if the subject gets brought up by a student. Just push for what you want. He takes attendence but doesnt keep track of it very well. I would recommend the class to anyone.
Is a very interesting teacher, tests can be hard, so make sure you read the chapters on court cases and things like that. Take lots of notes during his lectures. But overall good class.
Seems like a good guy, gives you a hard time if you're political ethos differ from his. Lectures reminiscent of "USA for Idiots". Heads up though, last year one of my friends took him. He failed the entire class. THE ENTIRE CLASS. He didn't even show up for the final. HE FAILED THE WHOLE CLASS. All!
This guy is great! He allows class discussion to go in whatever direction it wants. Very easy, skim the book and show up to class. Tests are essay and fairly easy and a 10pg paper, but it was easy too.

He drinks in class, just about every day, and in my opinion, it is not worth my time to even show up if he can't bother to stay sober!
Tests are harder than I expected... and he doesn't drink in class... he jokes about drinking but it really is coffee. He has an unique sense of humor which makes class interesting... but as far as studying goes... you will need to study and go because he covers alot of material during class!
His class is pretty interesting, but his tests were very hard so make sure you prepare. overall I enjoyed the class but it was hard work!
This class does not have a lot of work but the tests are kind of tricky. The essays are easy because he gives you the questions before hand but the multiple choice can trip you up.
Ask questions and participate and you will do well. He is an awsome professor and very available and flexiable to his students.
Very Laid Back Do the Essays for the Tests and study the chapters for the multiple choice Go to Class Attendance counts Movies are useless can walk out on those Term Paper easy just make sure you follow the requirements
this is directed right to Mr. Stewart, so i hope you read this.....Just wondering how i got a B in your class when i had a 100 on all the journals except your first one. Still trying to figure it out. Anyways i hope you get this and realize what happened cause your wrong.
He gives the essay questions out before tests, but the multiple choice questions are way harder. He won't admit it, but he's a Green Party member. While I disagree with his ideology, he allows me to speak and is respectful of my Republican viewpoint on issues. He's my favourite professor.
Aweful teacher, he is always off subject and you will learn absolutely nothing from him. You would do better by sitting home and reading the book so you can teach yourself. This class was a waste of my time and money!
He was very laid back and made jokes to lighten things up a bit. I really like how he gave us the test essay questions a week in advance so that we could prepare!
Difficult 100 level class. If you are not interested in politics don't think that taking this class will change your mind. Its boring. Stu cracks jokes every once in a while and he's an overall nice guy. I hope you like movies...
Class is very easy. If you like politics then you'll like this class...lectures sometimes lead to discussions. Tests arnt difficult either. Do well on the essay questions he gives them out before the test so make sure you can answer them completely and you'll be fine. Book is rarely used occasional quizes on the Christian Science moniter(newspaper)
He is very laid back and really funny. Intro to american politics and gov is an easy class.
Exams are pretty easy, he gives you the essay questions ahead of time and the rest is multiple choice vocab mostly. Lecture strays from what is on the exams, but class discussions are interesting and attendance counts. There is one term paper which isn't too hard. Lots of extra credit opportunities as well. I would recommend this for a UP.
awesome
Very one-sided. Doesn't show you much respect if you your views differ from his. Tests are pretty hard and he has a lot trouble staying on topic.
Great guy and a great prof. Very interesting and can really relate to his students.
great teacher. really easy. lots of extra credit. i actually passed this psc 105 it was my 2nd time taking it.
Great class discussions! Do the reading and pay attention in class and you will be fine.
He readsthe chapters to you in class, which you can do at home. He refuses to admit his political affiliation, yet Bush bashing, which I find offensive. He, like most CMU prof's, is a liberal who says he wont teach with a bias, but does anyway. Do NOT be naive enough to think this man will give you a fair chance if ur views differ from his!!!!!
Prof stewart is the best professor I have ever had in my life. He is all there to help his students out. He knows what he is talking about. If any one give any negative comment about him, trust me that person is not hardworking and never comes to class. Please I enourage you take his class cos he is great.
This professor is AMAZING. He knows what he's talking about and conveys it to you in an easy to understand manner. Anyone who has anything negative to say needs to lay off the drugs. I strongly reccomend this guy!
AMAZING! Read the book, and go to class, you will get an easy A, I failed the first test, but with the tons of extra credit he gives you, it is so easy to do good! It does stink you never get out early and have to come to class, but its easy and he is fun and teaches what you need to know! He is so smart but doesnt make you feel dumb! Awesome guy!
He does babble a lot in class but he really knows his stuff. The class is pretty easy. He gives out the essays prior to taking the tests and they are half of the points. He offers a lot of extra credit too. If you go to class and read the book before the tests you should do just fine. He shows movies at the end of every class until the last minute.
He is very interesting. Tests are kinda hard, but class is interesting
So boring, and ALL he does is babble on about stuff that is not even on the tests.
NOT a good teacher at all, not clear about what you are being tested on and tested on things not covered in class, gives his opinions and talks does not lecture.
WAY TOO EASY
Stewart's class is fairly difficult, but the man is willing t help you get a good grade. He is very knowledgeable, and although he leans a little to the left, I thought he did a great job in keeping discussions fair. Learned a lot, was slightly challenged, and had some fun. Better than average prof for sure.
Very funny guy. Actually got us pizza during one class. If you study for the tests you will do perfectly fine! There is one term paper with really broad guidelines. Class is pretty interesting and easy but lectures can be kinda boring. Pushes things back a lot and can be a little scattered sometimes but I recommend him
real funny guy! He knows what hes talking about but yea he can break off on random topics. Read the book and take notes in class and you'll be fine, his exams are pretty easy... I will definately take him again
He's good. He has a sense of humor and the class is easy. Just read the book and go to class and youll be fine
He's a funny guy, especially at the end of the semester after you turn in the teacher evaluations, then he will rip loose on kids and just be mean to people who ask stupid questions. but he's really a nice guy and as long as you study for the exams (which he gives you all the essay questions the week before) you will do good.
I thought he was a jerk. All of his lectures are from one point of view, he never teaches or mentions the opposite unless if he was bashing it. The class isnt very hard and he gives you the essay questions ahead of time. overall, the class isnt so bad, just be ready to only hear his side of the story.
Made the class enjoyable and I don't even like government. Sometimes gets off track but other than that Stewart is the one to take for PSC 105.
Not too hard. Do the paper and pay attention in class and you will do fine. Plus, the guy is very funny and friendly.
Really nice, helpful guy. Pay attention in class and ask questions in class and you'll be fine. Gives out all the essay questions for tests. I really enjoyed his class.
Really nice and funny guy, really friendly with students. Likes to teach, tests are OK, he gives out the essay questions, doesnt really use the book in class lecture, but some book stuff is on the mult choice tests, so, read it at least. Overall great guy, i reccomend him if you have a choice
Great Prof, one of the best I've had at CMU. Very funny and great discussions. Could of used the book more, but it is no biggie. The only problem was that I couldn't return the book for money, but other then that, take the class. Also, I gave him the hotness because he said he never got one in class!
I did not enjoy this professor. He rants on about many different issues that don't pertain to the class frequently and is biased with his response towards students. He does give the essay questions out so you can prepare for them but his notes are hard to understand.
He's interesting to listen to, although he likes to go on tangents about random things. Test questions are usually from the lecture and are sometimes taken from topics he just mention while on a tangent. TAKE NOTES. It will be nearly impossible to pass if you don't take notes. There are only 3 tests and 1 paper. Make the most of them!
He doesnt give good notes in class. I found them to be very hard to follow, and his tests are pretty hard- No study guides.
Great guy, easy to get ahold of. Take his class.
Stewart is great. I loved taking his class- he was fun and overall a great guy. He is very helpful and is always willling to answer questions.
Condescending; needs to learn brain theory and exhibit current teaching methods. When was the last time HE took a class?
TAKE GOOD NOTES OR YOU WILL FAIL.Stuart knows his stuff and will expect you to know it too. Very understanding as long as you go to him. 3 exams, 1 paper on movie he assigns relating to politics. There will be 5 eassys on each exam, but you get them ahead of time. Overall a nice guy, would take a class again with him
He knows his stuff and is very smart. I really liked his class. Tests are not hard and the paper is so easy. Lectures can get boring but overall were good. He's a real cool guy. Take him!
nice guy, test are harder but if you pay attention, take notes and read the book you'll be ok. would take his class again
I like the class so far. As long as you take notes and read the chapters, you will be just fine.
He is an ABSOLUTE jerk. I believe that he does know a lot about PoliSci but he goes off into tangents and half of it is on the exams and the other half is completely useless information. If you do not agree with his views he will be incredibly rude to your face and try and make you feel inferior. Just overall rude man and I would NEVER take a class
Do NOT take this class, if you REALLY like politics then MAYBE but he is NOT helpful and his tests have NOTHING to do with the book nor what he talks about! If you want to stress yourself out and have to read a million pages for a test and still fail, then have at it otherwise save yourself the grief and DONT DO IT!
I never thought a professor could disrespect students so much. Don't even bother trying to tell this man your opinion, he will shoot it down if it does not match his. No matter how thorough your exam answers are, you will still get zeros. He is rude and insulting. Take polisci with someone else!
Awesome Teacher, Awesome Guy!
I have learned the more from this professor than any other in the PSC department! If you had problems is this class you are probably narrow-minded and PSC is not for you!
A really great professor, extremely knowledgeable. Do not take this class if you are not going to put in some major effort. However, if you enjoy politics/government this is the class for you.
WORST PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER HAD! He's a jerk and won't help you at ALL. I had to chase him down for weeks to go over ONE essay question with him and he was a huge JERK about it!!! He lies about giving 'extra credit'... it doesn't help at all! DO NOT GET THIS PROFESSOR. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
WORST PROFESSOR EVER!!!!!!!!!!! I have to disagree with any comments that you must be narrowed minded if you didn't do well in the class..because it isn't hard that he does not go over the material at all that is necessary for the exams. if you want a challenge than take this class unless you want to fail.
To be completly honest, he was BY FAR the worst professor I have EVER had! TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU WANT TO FAIL. He is extremely rude, and doesn't care at all about his students. HORRIBLEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Excellent professor-Very knowledgable-I would highly recommend him! Be aware, you must put in the time required for the class!
Narrow minded. Grades weird. Sucks.
NEVER TAKE THIS CLASS! WORST CLASS YOU WILL EVER TAKE. YOU WILL FAIL. HE RAMBLES IN CLASS AND THEN WONDERS WHY EVERYONE FAILS THE EXAMS. HE IS VERY RUDE AND WON'T TRY TO HELP YOU AT ALL. TRUST ME, DONT TAKE HIM. I HAD A 3.6 GPA UNTILL THIS CLASS.
he was one of the ruddest teachers i have ever had! he would purposely call out students and yell at them. he reemed out our class when hardly anyone watched a debate. then when a girl said she had class he said it was her civic duty to record it...who had a vhs player? kept us the entire time. worst prof ever!
Most of the test questions were not covered in lecture, and many of the questions were based on information that is not pertinent to the important information.
I have to disagree with most comments saying that this prof is hard. I found it super easy to get an A. Not that I learned anything. I just put everything he wanted to hear weather I believed it or not and did the "extra credit". He also is a rambler we rarely covered what we should have. Wish I had taken the class with someone else despite my A.
I'm in the class now He is very boring and I can never tell what's going to be on the next test. Is the info in the book or in the lectures or nowhere to be found?
This is a really great professor if u want to go into political science. He lectures about things most people dont care about but bc I like political science he was a really great teacher. He knows what he is talking about.
Dr. Stewart is a nice guy over all, but he gives almost little to no direction of class. Your grade is made up of 3 exams and 1 term paper, take advantage of extra credit, the exams are moderately difficult, even from the prospective of a future lawyer.
Funny guy but goes off topic way too much, doesnt get through the chapters fully and expects us to know. Skips around, exams are hard, the essay questions are usually easy but he grades them really hard even if you did good. Cant explain the parenthises?
I hated this class with a passion!!! Also to have him for a teacher did not help. He he was never prepared and got off topic really easy. Also there on only like 3 exams in the class along with a term paper for grades, so I would just try and read the book and teach you self because you will most likely will do a better job than he will!
Horrible class. I got nothing out of it except listening to him and a few students who knew way too much about politics have conversations every class. Did not learn one thing. NO structure to the class. He can be arrogant and a little rude. NOT RECOMMENDED.
All you have to do is read the chapters and take good notes. He goes off topic but he applies the ideas he wants you to know. I hate the subject but i liked going to his class.
DON'T TAKE HIS CLASS. Unless you know your stuff or at least are familiar with topics. I have no idea what I'm learning because this guy lectures on whatever is in his head. The class is based on 3 exams and 1 paper and the exams are hard. Nothing we talk about in class was on the exams. He is also very rude.
Great guy. If you have a question or don't understand, be sure to ask. He gets off topic sometimes, but he is always interesting. I will def take him again!
good person, gets screwed by the university on tenure for whatever reason. knows his material and teachs it well. all you have to do is skim the book before the tests and pay a bit of attention cuz he usually gives u half the test in the review class before the test. its clear he doesnt trust the govt with reason. good guy good prof deserves tenure
Fairly easy, but boring lectures. Go to class and you should do well. He gives you all of the essays to the upcoming test a week in advance. He gives two tests, a term paper and a final. Ability to get 55 extra credit points for discussion groups and presenting your paper. Take this class with him!!!!
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS unless you have a STRONG interest in government AND a strong background in the field. He expects this from all of his students, not realizing this is an intro course. I knew nothing about govt. going into the course and learned nothing, earning my first grade lower than a B- in college with a D+.
He is a good teacher and he cares about the students. If you have an issue and you decide to go see him at his office hours he will help you out. He is also very funny. NEVER SIT IN THE BACK ROW OF HIS CLASS!
Very Good Professor and a fun and intersting class. A must take. You will have three all essay exams, but if you attend class and pay attention you will do fine.
good teacher, take the class you will learn alot
An opinionated prof. but he does teach a good class. All kinds of extra credit available. Exams were difficult, graded the one assigned paper very liberally. Go to class, read the chapters, and get involved in the lecture and you will do fine.
Okay, so the person who said they got a D+ definitely didn't go to class, or didn't do anything at all, because this class is super easy. If you just show up and actually listen you will do well. I didn't do the greatest on the exams, but I did well on the paper and it was enough to get me an A. He also offers extra credit!! Nice guy! Easy class!
best teacher i had my freshman year
DO NOT TAKE HIM.Does not give out notes. He lectures and rambles on about nothing, then gives out NO H/W. He gives out 3 tests and 1 paper, thats all your grades and i am a 3.9 student, who just failed his class. First class I ever got lower then B+. Got a 30/80 on the paper for forgetting one topic where most teachers would give you a 75/80 for.
I agree with the person below. I am and A - B student who just failed his class. He is very unhelpful and you can tell he hates teaching. He gave me a 20 points for my term paper for missing a topic. I went to talk with him about it and he still wouldn't change my grade. This INTRODUCTORY class was harder than any other class I've taken. STAY AWAY!
His study guides are 50+ questions that you choose 4 from to write about. Study accordingly. Come to class, attendance is mandatory. I got an easy, easy A, learned a lot, and made a friend of his. Good prof.
His lectures bleed his opinion. Doesn't respond well to those who disagree, usually. Never assigns homework, so you better do good on all the tests and the paper or you may fail. Tests are easy if you study, and he always gives the essay questions a week before the test. Doesn't use Blackboard AT ALL. Kind of a tin foil hat wearer's personality.
Good easy class, just follow what he tells you to study and you'll be fine.
Very interesting class, however the tests are extremely hard with random questions from all sources used in class. Study lots! overall a very interesting professor
Overall a very easy teacher. His lectures are all over the place but he gives the essay Q's away ahead of time (40% of the test score). He gives out extra credit like crazy (all quizes are 100% EC, if you go to certain events = EC, etc. Fairly funny and entertaining to boot (and I hate Govt.)
Great professor. Gives you 25+ essay questions from which you pick 4 to write about. You can't beat that. Class discussions were also engaging and made you think about current events and American domestic/foreign policy.
To anyone who said they failed this class, you should really reconsider being in college at all. Easiest class ever, extra credit given like crazy, and he will absolutely help if you have a problem. Yes he is very opinionated, but if you really disagree with him and can explain why you disagree with him he will respect that.
He was an OK prof. He was always willing to talk to you after class or answer any questions. The tests were harder I thought. One test I got a 66% on and was ranked 43 out of 143... He does give out A LOT of extra credit though. Simple stuff too. The grade is made up of 3 exams, a term paper, and all the extra credit. Overall i got a B and survived
This class covers a lot of stuff in American Radical Thought and Stewart is very knowledgeable. Don't take this class unless you are able/willing to think for yourself and are willing to stand up for what you believe in. Class discussion are the best--but only if you are willing to initiate the conversation. Otherwise, the class could be boring.
Text book not required. Attendance is required even though he is pretty entertaining. Overall easy class and worth the time.
Read the book and you'll be fine. There was really nothing to it otherwise. Lectures are boring, but pay attention because the little that he does say will end up on the exams. Chapters are long but read carefully and outline and you won't have trouble getting an A
Stewart, although very entertaining, leads a very confusing lecture. The class is pretty easy, not a lot of work involved, but that sort of screws you in the end if you don't pay attention and read the book. Exam was harder than expected but the SI sessions really help.
Lecture's seemed to be all over the place and it was diffcult to try and take notes from his lectures, you pretty much need to read the book in order to pass the tests. SI sessions were very helpful.
Take him for any 300 level class and you will not be disappointed. I didn't take a single note and got 95%+ on every exam. Avoid him for 100 level classes if you are not interested in politics.
Class is overall pretty interesting and you'll learn a lot, but he gets waaay off topic and we ended up falling way behind. Your only grades are 3 exams and a paper that he won't help you with. If he offers extra credit, take it!
Stewart is extremely helpful. His lectures are boring and he goes off topic a lot. Go to SI sessions they help significantly. There is no homework, three exams weigh your grade. They consists of multiple choice and essays. He is a hard grader on the essays but you can dispute your score in his office. Do ALL offered extra credit and you'll be fine!
Pushed his political opinions a little bit and if you spoke an opinion he didn't agree with he might tear your beliefs apart.Held a pretty interesting lecture if you were remotely interested in politics. Only grades are the 3 tests and a paper, get all the extra credit you can! SI sessions helped me out sooo much before his tests. Overall not bad.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. Has no respect for students and doesn't have his facts straight about what he is teaching. Exams are difficult and I can't believe the things that come out of his mouth.
There are only 3 exams which is 4 essay questions. He grades them like they are 300 level courses but does not teach like a 300 level course. All he does is stand in front of the class and read right from the book or a packet. He will agrue with you Politically if he disagrees.
He is a passionate teacher that uses all of the class time he can. Some don't like it, but he loves what he does. He talks about a lot of current day topics too. However he grades hard, will disagree on whatever your mindset is in the excuse of "making you think." If you're democratic, he'll bash it. If you're republican, he'll bash it.
This was the worst professor I have ever had. He was rude and went out of his way to embarrass students in class. He bases his entire class off of what he thinks and believes and does not stick to facts. He is not approachable if you need help or have any questions. DO NOT TAKE HIM!
Do not take this class....he rambles on and on in class about random stuff. Nothing he says is on the test it's all from the book. So read the book if you take him! Go to the SI sessions if you want to do well and read the book! SI and book and hopefully you'll get a good grade. If attendance wasn't mandatory I would never go to class, just the SIs
Stewart is a decent teacher, with a weird sense of humor. He wants his students to pay attention and if someone is sleeping he will call them out. Tests are easy as long as you read the book. You can skip once in a while and your grade wont be affected. Lots of movies. Interesting class. Recommended if you want a good grade and arent lazy.
Has attendance sheet.Shows many boring movies, tells you not to leave.Gets off topic, making you take a page of random notes that you don't need.Easy if you know your stuff, hard if you are not majoring in Government anything.Randomly calls on you if you look like you are falling asleep or in the back.Does not tolerate cell phones. GO TO THE SI!!!
He is a really passionate teacher who loves what he is doing! I thought his class was really interesting but a lot of people don't like his opinion. Just read the textbook and know the essays and you will be fine.
Class sessions are good but his exams are insane. He gives you the essays a week before class, which is a help, but his questions are half book questions half application questions. He cares about students but his exam questions are very inconsistent and unpredictable.
more discussion than lecture. gives you all the notes that will be on exams. provides extra credit quizzes on things like debates and events on campus. knows his stuff. gives you essay questions for tests in advance.
he is very knowledgable... but class is extremely boring, exams are very difficult and attendance is mandatory
Great professor! Extreme amounts of extra credit to make up for tough exams!
Gives a lot of extra credit, but only because his exams are difficult and unrelated to what we learned. Gives essays early. Rants about things unrelated to course. Very opinionated, and often offensive to people with religious beliefs. Most of our final was over something we briefly discussed in class and could not be found in the book.
He's awkward if you try to talk to him outside of class. Offers immense amounts of extra credit because he is a horrible grader. If you think you deserve points on something, ask him..because you probably do. Lectures are completely irrelevant, DO ALL OF THE READING. He's very off topic. Overall, I would say take if you can handle it.
He is very opinionated, and does not respect yours. He rarely talks about the things we are actually studying. The test are super hard and are rarely related to anything we actually talked about or studied. I personally think that he should be a religions or native american studies professor because he seems far more interested in those subjects.
He is rude and will fight your opinion no matter what you say. His tests are super hard. READ THE BOOK. go to the discussion sessions. there are three and you get 10points extra credit each time. It will save your grade. Lectures are very boring but mandatory. He doesn't talk about anything relevant to the tests. Gives essay questions prior to exam
None helpful, terrible at grading.
I loved Professor Stewart. He's extremely interesting and offers a lot of history on the subject. He encourages you to argue your grades and you're almost always rewarded for it. Your grade is based off of 2 exams, 1 final, and a 5 page term paper that's pretty simple. Just show up to class, do the reading, and you should do pretty well!
Knows a lot, but not good at transmitting that to students. He just drones on for the hour. I could've gotten the same experience sitting at home, if only attendance wasn't mandatory. He did give us a ton of extra credit if we presented our paper though...
Don't take him! Avoid him at all costs!
Just a God awful teacher. He is the most useless professor I have ever had. He disrespects students and doesn't give them the time of day. I don't understand why he is still at this university. It would be a terrible decision to take any class that he teaches.
Terrible teacher, spent many of the lectures talking about current events not on exam. Didn't learn anything from lectures, all from book. The final is 25 questions worth four points each, so good luck passing that.
He's a very difficult professor that rambles throughout lecture. He talks a lot about current events all semester, and then will surprise you with questions about them on the final. His grading is extremely hard and he can give the impression he's rude. Get to know him and he's alright. Not enough to take him if you don't have to though
He is the WORST PROFESSOR HERE! Terrible teacher, acts like he's going to be helpful and then isn't. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. His lectures are so pointless and the exams are very hard and majority of what is on the exams, he never mentioned in class. He gives out a lot of extra credit but I would never take him again. Terrible professor.
If you show up to class you will get an A. Stewart is a brilliant man who doesn't quite understand how to pass that along to students and he is impatient with ignorance and stupidity. If you are conservative in any way, don't take him, you will be in the same boat as the others who gave him a bad review because they disagree with his opinion.
He is very passionate about the subject he teaches and his lectures can be interesting on some days. He doesn't stay consistent with what he says will be on the exam and wont be, get all the extra credit possible, you will need it because exams are so hard. He just talks all hour. Attendance is mandatory, but I would have learned more at home.
The only good thing about this class is that there is a TON of extra credit. I would advise taking advantage of every single point. YOU WILL NEED IT! His exams are extremely difficult. I would definitely never take his class again. I would suggest finding a different professor.
YOU HAVE TO READ THE BOOK otherwise you will fail. he gives a lot of extra credit DO IT ALL or you will fail. do this and a little bit of sucking up and take good notes youll probably be ok. probably *he rambles... a lot
Test are impossible, I studied for a week and still did horrible, D grade, and I was still above half the class. Only 2 test, final, and term paper. Nothing electronic. BORING LECTURES, but mandatory, uses a sign in sheet. This is by far the worst I have done in a class at CMU and I do all the work. Only good part is a ton of extra credit points.
He's not bad. the class is extremely boring, but if you can live through them, the exams are essay but he give you the questions ahead so you can study. attendance, the final paper, and attendance are the only points in your grade so you definitely want to study for the exams but he also offers some extra credit and you watch a lot of movies.
No structure to class, extremely hard to get ahold of and not helpful, should not be teaching a 100 level class I have never obtained lower then a 3.0 in a class until this teacher.
DO NOT TAKE! I hate him so much I don't even have room to write it all out. SO careless of his students and a horrible teacher
Avoid this class at all costs. He is extremely nit-picky about short answer questions, and if you don't put what he likes, it's wrong. You can justify yourself all you want and it won't matter. Do all of the extra credit, it's the only way to get an A in this class.
He's a very smart guy but he's not like most professors. His classes aren't very structured and he doesn't really give notes. All you really have to do is show up to class (he takes attendance) and do the readings before the essay exams. He gives the questions ahead of time to review. Also make sure you WRITE A LOT! More writing=a higher grade!!
DO NOT TAKE HIM FOR THIS CLASS UNLESS YOURE A HISTORY MAJOR. It was such a horrible class to sit through. He talks about whats current and not whats in the chapters. He goes into detailed conversations with the 3 people who know a lot about history. Not a good intro class. Find a different teacher!
His class is hard. You need to come to class, take notes, and do the readings. However, he gives the essay questions for exams a week in advance and is always willing to meet with you to clarify topics. I enjoyed the class and thought he was hilarious. He's mean but in a funny way. I would sit in on lecture just to listen next semester if I could.
DO NO TAKE! I SAW THE COMMENTS AND DIDNT LISTEN AND REGRET NOT DROPPING SO MUCH! No notes, no study guides, no clarity... makes you feel stupid if you ask a question...
WORST CLASS EVER. DO NOT TAKE. Boring lectures and half of the time it's not even on what we are supposed to be learning. Doesn't give study guides for tests. Your grade is based off of 2 exams, a paper and the final exam. If you don't do the extra credit and don't know the material from previous classes you will do bad/fail.
Worst professor I've ever had at CMU. Don't even bother taking notes, just read through the book. Only offered minimal extra credit. Avoid at ALL costs.
Participate in class and he'll love you. He GIVES you the test essay questions ahead of time and if you can write well you'll do fine on your term paper. Really not that hard to do well. Kind of a weird guy and goes off on some tangents but I've done well in both classes I've taken with him
What a great professor! I loved his class and had a great time! Lots of in class debate and discussion that was very helpful. If you participate in class, exams and papers are easy. Professor Stewart knows his stuff!
This guy knows his stuff. It is straight forward and not hard. If you fail his class, it is because you deserved to fail. I requested to take multiple classes with him. Go to class, do the work and the reading. It is college, you are paying to be there, you should get something out of it
Offers lots of extra credit opportunities and is so smart and interesting. Pay attention in class and skim through the assigned readings and you'll pass easily. Do all of the extra credit he offers and you'll get an A for sure. Tests can be a little tricky but overall, really interesting guy and fair professor.
He has a zero tolerance for cell phones, sleeping in class, or talking while he is. Very good professor though, although this class is pretty tough, he gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. You can only miss four classes. He also gives you the essay questions that are on the exam a few days before so you can look over them before hand.
This class will be very simple and easy as long as you stay up to date on reading ,assignments, and tests. Test are very important because the class only have 3 exams and a term paper. He gives lots of extra credit and has open reviews for test where you can ask him anything regarding the test. overall a good professor.
Avoid this class if you can. There's a difference between a tough grader and just not caring anymore. He can't see so he will fail you on essays if he so much as can't read a word. Have fun getting 1 out of 10 points for a fully correct and complete essay question. Unstructured lectures. Worst proffesor I've had in my three years here so far.
I would avoid this professor as best as you can! I barely got through this class and I don't usually have that hard of times for classes. His lectures have nothing to do with his exams and he will give you a 1/10 on his essays if you forgot to capitalize a word... Seriously don't take this class! It was terrible!!!
He is very rude and only cares about his opinion. The exam essays are easy because he gives you them in advance but the multiple choice you really need to study for. His extra credit events really help you so DO THEM. One final paper about a political movie that you're assigned, which really isn't too bad. ONLY 3 EXAMS
He went off on tangents sometimes but mostly stuck to things that would be on the test. Don't leave when he shows movies! They will be on the test and he showed a few. If you don't do well on your test essays go and talk to him he may give you more points if he thinks you know what you're talking about. Do the extra credit!
His classes are very unstructured, but he does talk about stuff that will be on the exam. He gives a lot of extra credit opportunities, which will really help if you don't do so well on the exam. We watched movies almost every day in this class. There is never any homework. Three exams and one final term paper.
I grew to like Stewart more and more as the year went on. I think that initially I was just too worried that the only grades came from the exams. There is NO HOMEWORK, but I suggest reading the chapters before exam day. Ask LOTS of questions especially during the review day. He's a bit opinionated, but a very intelligent man. Lots of extra credit.
Although he gives lots of extra credit opportunities, the exams were very hard because what you would talk about in lecture was not on the exams. There is lots of reading and he doesn't give a study guide or any specifics on whats on the exams. I would read the chapters and takes notes and still do bad. Avoid this class as much as possible!!
Very interesting guy. Would not recommend. I am a very hardworker but he is a very hard grader and does not care about the success of his students at least that's how I feel.
He's so rude and always calls people out in class if he doesn't like what they're doing. His lectures are very hard to follow and make no sense. Good luck.
I learned nothing in this class. He talked in lectures for almost every class or it was a debate between students that was irrelevant to the subject. Even if you go to every class it's very likely youll fail the exams. He never assigns reading so keep up in the textbook from the syllabus or youll have no idea what's going on. Hes funny but not good
He is a cool person outside of class, but in class he is rude and he'll call you out if he doesn't like what you are doing. What he says in the lectures make absolutely no sense, so your best bet is to read each chapter for the exams. If attendance wasn't important, I would have never gone to class. Ever.
He doesn't assign homework but you have to read and memorize every single page in your book in order to do good on his exams. His lectures are irrelevant and he talks about topics that have nothing to relate to the class or the test. He's very rude and will call you out in front of the whole lecture hall. This intro course ruined my GPA.
He doesn't assign homework but you have to read and memorize every single page in your book in order to do good on his exams. His lectures are irrelevant and he talks about topics that have nothing to relate to the class or the test. He's very rude and will embarrass you. This intro course ruined my GPA.
This class was hard and he lectures and rants about things that you will never see on the exam. It will be in your advantage to read the chapter and study the book. This class is all lectures and plays a movie in the background every day making it distracting. He gives extra credit to pass but if you want a good teacher I wouldn't recommend him.
I've taken many of Stewart's classes and i just keep taking him. He is a great teacher and is clear with what he wants for papers and exams. He's understanding and will go out of his way to help if you have to make up exams and papers. If you need any class that he is teaching take the class. You will never have a dull moment in his classes
You wont learn a thing ! He will talk half the class about nothing, then show you a movie that has nothing to do with the readings. No study guides for exams, just you and your text book. Very rude when you ask questions. You will have 2 exams and a final, along with a term paper (based on a movie he picks for you). Does offer Extra Credit.
Theres two exams + one final, nothing on them related to anything we talked about in class. He is very opinionated and refuses to listen to anybody that disagrees with him. Whenever somebody would ask a question he would avoid it and be very rude to them. In order to pass the exams you will need to memorize the whole textbook bc he doesn't teach
I am a straight a student and got a C+ in this class. Save yourself and do not take his class.
All you have to do is show up to class and take notes. There are no homework assignments. For the WI class just prep for your essays the night before and you should do fine. Easy class. Not the greatest professor though. Makes you feel dumb if you don't know the answer to a question.
I got a total of 60 points extra credit! There is one term paper and 3 exams. I got 2 D's and a C on the exams and still got an A in the class! I didn't learn much but if you want an easy A take this class!
He was a very nice person if you wanted to meet with him outside of class but his lectures were very confusing to follow. He would go off on tangents that weren't related to the content. The only way I passed his class was through all the extra credit.
He isn't horrible, but I've had better professors. He doesn't really teach material at all. He'll write on the board, but it won't make any sense. Try your best to pay attention and make sense of what he's saying. He offers a lot of extra credit and he'll give you your essay questions before the exam. Very hard to get a hold of. And vague feedback.
Despite not doing well on the exams I received a decent grade. The exams do not have questions from lectures and don't make a lot of sense.
Will fail you if you don't regergatate his opinions back on tests. Speaking of tests have fun learning all the information from google 3 nights before hand. Will say something as if it is a hard fact when it is in fact false. Example: Osama bin laden and the muslim brotherhood were behind 9/11. If you debate back he'll laugh at you. GOP beware
DO NOT TAKE A CLASS WITH THIS PROFESSOR! This was by far the worst professor I have ever had in my life. He is extremely unclear on what will be on the exams; his lectures often go off topic and are very confusing. You are graded on three tests, a group discussion project and a term paper.
Lectures have nothing to do with the course at all. You will see something for the first time on the exam. He takes attendance, and he has strong opinions, and if you don't agree with him he will argue back with you like a 5 year old. If you have a question he makes you feel dumb about it and wont give you a clear answer. Tons of EC, and a paper.
I'm usually not too picky but he is awful. He belittles students and I felt like I had to hide in the back so he would not see me. He is very arrogant and has a specific opinion on politics that he shoves down your throat (even though it should be mutual because it's a political science class). If theres another option for a teacher, go with them.
He was ok, went on tangents but expected stuff to be on exams. Does give you essay questions early to study and has review day class before exam, ask questions. Watches lots of movies.. takes attendance every class
The classes aren't that bad, he doesn't write down notes or have an outline so it's up to you to listen and take notes. The exams are not too hard as long as you pay attention and read the chapters. He has an exam review and gives you the questions for the essay in advance. If you put in the work you will be fine.
He is friendly and will get to know you if you meet with him. Help is there if you ask for it. He's not going to hold your hand and walk you through the textbook, it's up to you to spend the time and read it. The lecture can get off topic but its because he wants us to discuss what's going on in the world and how it relates to the class.
I would not recommend taking this class with Stewart. He does not provide any power points or any structure of notes at all. He just lectures every single day for the whole class period. The only things that were graded in this class were your exams and a five page paper you had to write. You have to read the book and teach yourself everything.
All of his exams are in essay format, and you have to write 3 essays per exam, in class. If you are not a fast or good writer would not recommend. Does give a list of prompts about a week before and you choose your three topics. Loves to go on tangents and give his opinion. A big research paper is given on topic of your choice. Would take again.
Well I ended up dropping this class. He took over a month to grade our first exam, the first exam had nothing from lecture or the book (which you will be spending a lot of time with), and lectures are awful. Will single you out and make you feel stupid. My academic advisor recommended I take this at comm. college and I hope everyone does the same
He's very lecture heavy, doesn't give outlines. He has an unusual sense of humor and can sometimes be taken as being mean. Go to his office hours, he is always willing to work with you outside of class! Great guy one on one but in class, he can come off as a bit rude.
Class is strictly lectures. He gets very carried away in lectures and it is hard to decipher what is important and what is not. His tests are extremely difficult and he grades the four essays very hard. He says to use the readings from the book but they have no correlation to the tests other than a few random facts that seem unrelated to the course
Don't take this guy. Does nothing but lecture for the whole class period and has no note structure whatsoever. Super tough when grading the essay questions on the exams. Always says the questions come from the readings in the books, they don't. Save yourself the trouble and find another professor for this class because this guy is really bad.
Syllabus said if you have over 5 absences, points will be taken off. Well, I skipped class about 10 times & my grade wasnt affected at all. His lectures are long, boring, and pretty pointless. He gave the essay qs before the exam. I opened the book once and ended with an A. Take this class for an easy A, even though going to class will be a drag.
He had zero outlines and would always write random unrelated words on the board with arrows. No study guides, and no way to tell if a lecture is important or not. Very little organization or blackboard materials. Quite old fashioned.
DO NOT TAKE. Worst experience I've ever had when it comes to professors at CMU. The first day of class, I had read the reviews online here but went in with an open mind. Horrible decision. He ridiculed me in front of the entire class because I said "God bless." He continued to bring up how stupid I was for being religious. Horrible lectures as well
As long as you show up to class and write down what he says you'll be fine. He gives you the exam questions ahead of time and allows you to ask questions during review. Overall he's a great professor with a deep passion for politics
This professor is a firecracker! One must pay attention and take good notes to keep up, but his lectures are definitely interesting. He encourages discussion, covers a lot of important material, and he finds a way to relate the material to current events. He gets fired up. 10/10 recommend.
Can sometimes ramble on about random things that dont matter and you watch a good amount of movies/ videos. Only 3 exams and a term paper. Tells you what is going to be on exams so they arent too bad.
Very passionate about politics & teaching. Encourages discussion a lot, as long as you go to class you will be fine. Watch a lot of movies, but they are informative!! He gives the test questions ahead of time so you can prepare and it's easy to get good grades on the tests and he offers extra credit. I would take him again.
Basically just lectured and watched movies the entire semester. Nothing he talks about has much relavence. He gives you the exam questions ahead of time so you just have to prepare those. Really boring and not very enjoyable. Im sure hes a nice person outside of class.
There is no one else I would rather take this class with. He can come across as austere at times but if you don't act like a fool (e.g. fall asleep in class), go to class, pay attention, and do your work, you should not have a problem getting an A. He knows his stuff and his lectures are great.
