Dr. Varacelli is the best professor I've had this semester. He's pretty lenient on attendence with 10 absences but tests are based strictly off the notes you take in class. Class is taught through PowerPoint and he gives plenty of time in between slides to take notes. He really cares about his student and is very passionate about the subject!

This guy is great, he is super chill. EASY workload. Just be able to write his powerpoints in class and youll make and A. He gives test views.

Varacalli is a fun professor. He tries so hard to get the students involved and jokes around with them it's adorable! Homework is lengthy and you cannot finish all the assignments for one section at once (online textbook btw) unless you want to stare at the computer for hours. Tests are basically his power points and he gives you a review.

The notes are really heavy in class and the homework is sorta heavy but he gives you weeks to complete it, its easy just time consuming. His tests are easy if you go to class. Dr. Varacalli is a wonderful professor! Homework is heavy but it's not difficult. His test are his power points so just go to class and copy the notes. Do the test reviews, they help. The final is optional if you take it, it replaces your lowest test grade or it doesn't count against you if it's a bad grade. He gives you the answers to the final.

Dr. V is a great professor. He's straightforward in his lectures, and he's always trying to keep everyone's attention by being funny. The exams are all multiple choice, drops the lowest exam grade, and the final is optional. The only thing I didn't like we're the online assignments and assessments. They were kind of tedious. Also gives extra credit

Dr. Varacalli is amazing!!! His lectures are very clear and the tests literally come exactly from the lectures. He always tries to joke around a little bit and clearly knows his stuff. He actually made POSI interesting, I would definitely take him again!

Varacalli is super passionate about his teaching. He gave us PowerPoint notes to copy down during class. However, he doesn't post his notes online, so you actually have to go to class if you want to pass. All the tests are straight from the notes.

Dr. Varacalli used PowerPoints during lectures, and if you write those down, you will have answers to every question on his tests. He is very laid back and sincerely hopes for everyone to pass. If you need any help he is willing to do what he can, and he gives extra credit options for each test.

Professor Varacalli was a great teacher! I would definitely take him again. He was hilarious and it wasn't a hard class at all. Just show up and take the notes and you will pass!

Dr. Varacalli is a real gem in the Political Science department. He is always prepared and quite passionate about politics and religion. He analyzes both sides of an issue to a T, and always plays devil's advocate to demonstrate. This class had 4 essays, which were essentially fleshing out the authors arguments. Take him, you wont regret it!

I LOVE THIS MAN. I have never had an interest in learning about POSI but I enjoyed learning in his class. You have to go to class and write down everything from his power points, but he practically tells you whats on the test and if you study you will get an A. He loves what he teaches & he makes you love it too. I would take him over & over again

GREAT teacher! He made me enjoy political science and loves what he teaches. As long as you attend his lectures and take notes, his tests are a breeze!! Study the notes and study guide and hands down you'll receive an A. I would take him again for POSI 2320 if I hadn't already taken it.

EASY class--1) The 4 simple exams come directly from his PAINFULLY LONG lecture slides. The McGraw Hill homework is completely separate, so you can just quizlet the answers for the online assessments and quizzes; Only study his notes. 2) The final is optional. Dr. Varacalli is both a great teacher and totally precious. He LOVES to teach this subject and will very happily talk to you one-on-one about it. Gives out lots of extra credit. He's also way funnier than I think he realizes. Tests are almost entirely from his lecture notes, so that's what you need to focus on, but he makes it enjoyable.

He keeps the class flowing. The book is on line, you read a chapter answer questions (easy 100) and take a quiz.. a little harder. 4 tests and an optional final. His tests are from his notes so be sure to write them down. If you study what he suggests you will do great. I took this class during the summer at 8am and actually stayed awake.

Such a good professor! Took his class in the summer semester and definitely was sad when it ended. He replies to e-mails very quick and gives reviews to all of his reviews. Hw is easy and gives your grade a boost. Such a sweet guy!

He's an extremely funny professor and wants the class to pass. Literally, show up and copy the lectures and you'll be sure to pass every test because it's the same exact content. He's a bit boring but the class is easy. There's plenty of homework but all of the answers are on Quizlet.

Dr. Varacalli is AMAZING! He's one of the best professors I've ever encountered. If you show up to class, take the notes, and get through the online homework you will do just fine. While the online homework may be a drag, don't procrastinate and wait till the last minute to do them, they are actually super helpful when you're trying to study!

If you have the chance, take Varacalli. It's a lecture heavy class, but he makes them more bearable. You can do the online homework in 20 minutes without reading the book if you pay attention in class. Tests are easy, just listen during the lectures. He also drops your lowest test grade, and gives a couple extra credit points to your final grade.

Youre allowed to miss up to 10 classes, and the homework and textbook are a bundle online for $75. Very easy

Dr. Varacalli is AMAZING! He makes lecture interesting. He loves to say he's a hard grader, but he's not. He's accessible and cares for students. I took him for Con Law and Minority Politics. At the end of our Min Pol course he allowed us (POC) to express our frustrations with the university and how they handle racial tensions. Earned my respect.

Dr. V was a GREAT professor, his lectures were funny and he really loves this subject. Attendance counts, and if you have less than 2 absences, you get up to a point added to your overall GPA. He drops the lowest test grade too. Make sure to do your McGraw Hill assignments on time and study the quizlets for his exams.

Very funny and caring guy. Tells you specifically important things to remember for the exams. As long as you take good notes both in class and on the videos he releases over notes, it should be easy to pass the exams.

Amazing professor. Provides reviews for tests. Tests were 100 questions but very easy to pass if you just study what he tells you to. Tells you when something will be on the test and repeats himself so you know to write it down. Met once a week and had to do an online quiz every week, along with textbook quizzes, which are easy 100, all on quizlet.

Dr. Varacalli is a cool professor. He likes to make jokes a lot and most of the time their pretty funny. He teaches straight from a powerpoint, but they're not available on the resources. He does stutter a lot if that bothers anybody. His class is an easy A if you keep up with all the work.

Professor Varacalli was seriously the best prof. I have ever had/learned from. He is funny, caring, and easy to pay attention too. I took the hybrid course which was super easy, you have module quizzes due every Tuesday night which ARE VERY IMPORTANT for your grade. So do good!! Test are easy half multiple choice, half T/F & go to his office hours!

The biggest downside of his class was my grade depending on papers so heavily but I received an A in the class so I guess it wasn't too brutal. His lectures are super entertaining and theres active discussion. Show up to class and actually read the books and you'll be just fine. No tests, just papers and a few easy homework assignments. Easy A.

He is a wonderful professor. This class is very passable as long as you do the online textbook assignments and show up to copy the slides. Aside from his class just being an easy A, he is very respectful, knowledgeable, and passionate about politics. He gives very in depth answers to just about any question a student asks without being biased.

Very intelligent and charming young guy. Always says hi to you in the hallways. He has a very nonpartisan way of teaching and retains a completely neutral position on a topic while still making it interesting. However, students often take him again and hell recognize them and it kinda seems like hes playing favorites sometimes. But he's very cool

Hes nerdy but a great professor. I took it as a hybrid and would anyways ace the online quizzes without doing the posted reading or video. Attend his lectures because he reviews the test the class before and the tests are dumb easy.

The best professor ever. Took this course my freshman year of college and lucky enough to get him again for the second polsi. He is very passionate about what he teaches and works hard to make you understand the material. Very intelligent and hilarious. The sweetest and happiest person ever. So positive. Hated polsi before, love it now!!

He's a really great professor. Attendance is mandatory to get notes and he bumps your grade average if you miss less than 2 days. Everything on the test is specifically on your notes. Some are word for word. He gives extra credit out and is hilarious. An easy class to pass. Recommend taking him for next semester.

By far my favorite professor. Super easy to get an A if you just put in the effort. Every class is just lecture and then the tests are based off the lecture. I'm not a political science person but this class really wasn't bad. Go to lectures, take notes, attend extra credit events, and you'll be fine. He's a goofy guy and I enjoyed his lectures. Attendance isn't necessarily mandatory, but if you only have 2 or less he'll bump up your semester grade a point.

Lots of tedious home work through the textbook online but the exams were pretty easy and straight forward. Hes passionate about what hes teaching. He does care about his students and is pretty funny and likes to interact with class. In class we mostly just went over power points be prepared to take notes if you dont take them youll fail.

I took him for 2310 and 2320, he understands that this class in a GenEd. He makes everything clear and simple, especially the tests. He doesn't post his slides online so go to class. He tells you 95% of what will be on the tests in class. You have to buy the online textbook to complete the homework. He's also very unbiased with the material!!!!

This professor was a bright lecturer and he was always excited about what he was teaching which made me excited to learn about poli science and attend every class. he is a good professor and gives many chances for extra credit and all of his tests are note based and super easy.

Took his 9:30am class and he still found a way to have me laughing at his little comments. Class is legit taking notes on the slides, then he tests you over those notes. Easy as that. Plus some connect assignments which are long but easy(take 1 hour out of your day to knock it out)

This professor is one of my favorite professors so far. His lectures are presentation slides and he makes his lectures fun. Homework assignments are easy and important. He makes it clear that to pass his class, you have to pay attention and take notes on his slides.

Wonderful professor. I cannot recommend him any higher. His test are very simple if you show up to his class and take notes. He can be a little tough on grading papers, but he gives good feedback and is fair. He does not let his political opinions affect the course. If you have the chance to take him, TAKE HIM!

Very easy class, just attend lectures and do online homework/quizzes/tests (textbook is already included in your tuition). Lectures can be a bit boring at times, but just attend & you'll be fine. Definitely would recommend it if you just need your POSI2310 credit.

This is my third semester taking Varacalli. As a poly sci major, I cannot ask for a better professor. This professor gives the best lectures and curates a diverse and exciting class using the works of significant philosophers that shaped modern political theory. Take this class. I could not recommend it any higher.

Dr. Varacalli is probably one of the best professors I will come across in my undergrad, so I am very sad to hear that he is leaving. He is extremely passionate and encourages participation from all students. The only downside was that a few people seemed to really enjoy hearing themselves talk in class. Dr. V's future students are extremely lucky!
