By far and wide the worst professor to walk this earth. You won't understand a word he says and he will instill a fiery aversion to Chemistry within your soul (if there ever was one to begin with). May God be with you.
By far and wide the worst professor to walk this earth. You won't understand a word he says and he will instill a fiery aversion to Chemistry within your soul (if there ever was one to begin with). God speed.
The best professor I ever had,he was very helpful. If you work hard in this course, you are guaranteed to get an A.
His accent will make things hard, in the beginning at least, but if u attend his lectures, his tests will b very fair. overall, i think he was okay..it was his first year as a prof. this year, so I can give him at least some margin, but he does his best to make sure you're well-prepared. my suggestion: LISTEN TO HIS ADVICE on how and what to study!
Clarity increases as you get used to the accent, overall nice prof, was his first year
Very kind, helpful, and approachable. Tests were fair. Genuinely cared about his students and their success. Accent needed some time to adjust to- but was not a barrier. Lectures, past tests, and office hours were extremely helpful. Evaulations were fair.
good, but sometimes strict.Wants everyone to pass with a good grade.
sweet prof. couldnt understand his accent at first, but now i'm so gonna miss his random analogies (which somehow actually do help a lot). easy tests and exams if you prep hard. does his best to get to know his students and helps as much as possible.
Krish is the boss
The worst professor I have ever had the displeasure of having at any post-secondary institution I have ever attended. Where the 5's, 4's and 3's are coming from in his ratings I have no idea. Completely useless, and incapable of explaining anything adequately. Worst mistake ever making this guy a prof from a TA. Horrendous.
Good Prof, wants his students to do well. He really makes an effort to get his points across. It will be hard to understand at first..but if u put in the effort it will not be that hard. Exams/tests are very fair as well
ISN'T IT???
MAKES MY DAY :D
YOU NEED TO GO TO HIS LECTURES BUT IF YOU DONT GET ANYTHING HE IS SO HELPFUL DURING HIS OFFICE HOURS!
I like this prof. because he really cares about his students and wants then to do well unlike some other profs. His tests are more than fair/no tricks. Very possible to do good in this class.
An incomprehensible man, I consistently find my stress levels peaking when I attend his class. His teaching style is rather disjointed, though he may appeal more to people who are into Chemistry and are actively reading more than just the required course material. Also his tests are crazy hard if you don't have the past tests for reference.
You get used to his accent. Attending lectures is crucial, because that's your main study tool (textbook isn't that great). He explains things with relevant examples, so go over class examples! Watch out for your TA (they mark labs & quizzes- 39% of your mark). Chem labs are confusing, but they just added a demo website. Get past tests/quizzes!
Terrible professor. I couldn't understand a single word this man said at all during the year. It was an utter waste of time going to class because I ended up having to teach myself everything anyways. He's annoying and screams during the lecture. There are so many other better profs that should replace him. Call it harsh, but it's the truth.
Krish is a nice guy, no doubt. But he is a horrible professor. His notes are unorganized, his lack of textbook use is infuriating and removal of info from slides (in order to increase attendance)is by far the worst. ---Take chm139 @ downtown (prof = better, and half year course)---
You either like him or you don't. 9am lectures can be tiring, but the 11am ones are so noisy even if you sit near the front. Attend as many FSG's as you can, esp. in the weeks before the tests/exam. Start labs the day you do the experiment and finally... GOOD LUCK. Class avg was C-.
He's one of the best profs i've ever had. He teaches well & gives a lot of hints for the midterms & the exam. Its sad 2 see how some students complained about him. I did everything he told us to do & did really well in the course. As long as you do what he tells u to do, ull ace the course. If u don't, then ull probably be complaining. KRISH ROX :)
Horrible prof. He tries, but really doesn't succeed. Expects students to copy notes and understand while we're panicking to get everything before he changes the slide. Needs to use the textbook more, and not teach anything outside of it. Wants everyone to pass, but clearly not doing a good enough job. Makes things harder then they are.
Genuinely cares about his students success. His accent and random analogies can be confusing at first but get easier to understand. Do the practice assignments and go over the problems in his lectures, most of the time test questions are very similar to these. Tests and exam were fair if you studied and payed attention. A pretty funny guy.Isn't it?
The worst prof I've ever had before in my life. I had a 90% in high school chemistry, then I had him for first year and my grades plummeted. I couldn't understand a single word he said and he expects you to know the material despite his inability to teach it. I taught myself the entire course out of the textbook.
great prof! if you listen and pay attention, you can understand what he's saying. if hes your ta, he goes over questions that are exactly like the ones in the quiz, right before giving you the quiz. his examples grow on you and he is very nice during office hours! pay attention and you'll do great in his class!
He was a very very caring TA/Professor who tried to help every single one of his students. I actually understood the lecture topic more in the tutorial ( with his explanations) than the lecture. He was one of the best professors I had and I feel very lucky to be in his tutorial.
He isn't a hard prof, and I just recently completed the midterm for part 2 of first year chemistry. he gave out a lot of hints during his lectures that were on the midterm, he really likes when students attend his lectures. Only issue is that he gives out extra questions and expects you to hand them in which is not what other profs do. Unfair.
Very caring and easy prof/TA. Yes he can be hard to understand but i was indian so i had no issues. Gives extra tutorial sessions near examtime to help students out. emails help sheets, VERY helpful.
Goes above and beyond as a TA. Thank you, Dr. Krish
Disappointing TA. First time I have encountered a TA that ruined my learning experience. He took 4 months to remark my quiz, which I emailed twice about and went to his office hour. I received a lot of attitude when I arrived and he was cold and ate infront of me. I had no idea what I did wrong to make him hate me and tried to be polite.
He was a decent TA and he taught us all the concepts before the quizzes and tests and made sure we understood them.
the rating is self explanatory. nothing else needs to be said.
His accent did not bother me as for clarity but the lectures were all over the place but he gave good examples. Def. need to do the text work. Gave a lot of hints as to what he would ask on the exams. His tests are fair.
He is an excellent prof. One of the best I had.
Amazing prof. He really cares about his students and wants everyone to do well. He makes sure everyone is paying attention to his lecture by ensuring we put away our phones. He provided practice assignments worth 4% of the finally mark. It was very easy to get 100% and helpful for studying the content. Certainly recommend you take chm110 with him.
Krish is a very hard marker & I found him extremely rude. He made all the students who failed the midterm, pick them up from him, so not only did he embarrass all those students in their tutorials, but he also made them go out of their way to get the tests back. Terrible person and prof. Wouldn't take this course if I didn't have to.
One of the best profs ever. This guy genuinely cares for his students and wants them all to succeed. His goal is to make you appreciate chemistry. He has an accent but it's not too hard to understand. Attend his lectures and do the problem sets and there is no reason why you can't get a fantastic mark!
His assignments and quizzes are easy to get high marks. Term tests are really easy if you attend his lectures because almost all the questions on term tests are from the lecture notes and he emphasizes the concept many times. He is not very patient, but he will definitely answer your questions when you ask him. Overall, a good professor.
Assignments, quizzes, and term tests are really easy if you attend his lecture. He is not a very nice professor, but he will definitely answer your questions when you ask him in his office hours. He cares about your marks. Really, he loves students who get perfect on term tests. Overall, a good professor.
Great prof! Really cares for his students. Tests are VERY EASY if you go to his lectures. Take detailed notes on things he stresses on. Textbook isn't even necessary since all of the questions are from his powerpoint slides! He goes out of his way to help his students (even had bonus assignments).
Overall, a good and easy professor. He cares about his students. All of the materials cover in the midterms are in his lectures, you just need to TB to do some practices. However, you need to write down exactly what he says; or you will loose mark. He gives extra marks for assignments (boost your lab grade). IMPORTANT:ASK HIM QUESTIONS!
He really and truly cares about his students! As long as you go to his lectures, you'll be fine!
Amazing professor! He really, really cares about his students and will spend time to explain a concept very well! Really wish more profs taught the way he does!
AMAZING PROFESSOR. Every test question comes right from the lectures. Puts so so so much emphasis on what you need to know. HILARIOUS. Cares about student so so much, will come to the university on a Sunday for you. So helpful too.
AMAZING PROFESSOR !
The only prof who genuinely cares about his students. He's strict about the use of electronics in class but that's only because he wants students to focus in his lecture. Explains everything very well and is always available for extra help. Whatever he teaches in his class are useful in upper years.
He is nice, but he doesnt teach very well and skips over materials all the time!
Krish is an amazing prof because he cares about his students' success and his teaching skills are great. His accent may be hard to understand, but he is always willing to clarify. He will repeat the most important concepts and provides many examples that help you prepare for midterms and the exam. And he is a fair grader
SUCH A GREAT PROF. Always applies science concepts to real life to help u understand. Comes in on weeknds for office hours for students who need it. Gives you hints to midterm questions and really cares about student success in the class. Uses visual aids to help your remember molecular structures, and never gets annoyed if you ask same questions.
Overall great teacher!
If you get this prof for any chemistry course, dont listen to the negative comments! You have landed yourself one of the most amazing and caring profs at UTM! He is willing to spend time and go over any concepts that may be confusing to make sure you understand by using ample examples. He truly cares that you do well!! :D
Excellent proff!! There are no surprises for his tests as long as you do all the practice questions he assigns plus studying his lecture slides.
Go to class, write everything he SAYS down and you're guaranteed an A. All tests and exam questions were based on questions he verbally answered in class. Also do the practice questions he posts as a few of them were on the test!
speaks fast and tests are harder than I thought they would be. Tries to be as helpful as possible and gives tips to succeed almost every lecture
EXCELLENT PROF. KRISH . I DID VERY WELL BECAUSE OF HIS ENGAGING TEACHING STYLE.
Chhhk chhk chhk chhk *microphone check*. Professor Krish, while fast-speaking and thicc accented, really does deliver passionate lectures. However, he speeds through content that is difficult to understand such as organic chem. He also writes very small, sometimes illegibly, on the board. Get ready to be both auditorily and visually impaired!
He provides meaning to chemical processes and links them to real world applications. What I like is that he uses funny methods of explaining tough concepts to us such as Pauli exclusion principle. Overall, Radhakrishnan is a great prof for first year.
SUCH an AMAZING PROF. Thanks to him my first year chem course was lit. He's funny and very helpful. he provides practise problem sets which are key to complete. He always had a word of encouragement or advice on life to say during a lecture which was something I very much appreciated. THank u!
Such a great prof! Lectures were actually interesting and engaging and he used lots of helpful analogies to explain hard concepts. He was always willing to repeat concepts and answer questions and was 100% clear about what would be on the test. Complete is problem sets, attend lectures, and do lots of past exams and tests shouldn't be hard!
Prof Krish made hard concepts easy to understand by providing helpful analogies. He does talk a bit quick so make sure to try and write down every single thing he says. Tests were all based on stuff he covered in lecture and stuff from his practice sets. He truly cares and wants everyone to do well in the course
BEST. PROF. EVER. Honestly, take CHM110 and 120 with him. HIGHLY recommend it. He is really good at explaining content and will take his time on the hard stuff. Attend ALL his lectures and you will for sure do really good on his tests. He never brings anything outside of what he's taught. If you take good notes, you will do really good .
Great prof, the test is completely lecture base. He will definitely help you out, outside of lecture, so attend his office hours for additional help. Also write down anything he repeats multiple times, it will show up one way or another on the test.
Really good and hes very helpful honestly. Some people dont like how he relates concepts to stories but like thats the best part. Hes very funny
He often goes on tangents that have little to no relation to the course material. Important complex topics (e.g. Addition reaction mechanisms) that are fundamental to future courses are explained much too quickly given their value. ALSO: If you are planning on transferring to UTSG, be aware that CHM120 at UTM is not equivalent to CHM136 at UTSG!
Dr. Krish is an amazing guy, wonderful professor, highly knowledgable and definitely one of the best UofT professors I've ever had. He provides endless opportunities to maximize your success in the course, from providing his phone number to reach him anytime for questions to countless opportunities for bonuses. Very passionate and caring!
BEST CHEM PROF EVER. Sure he has an accent, but this is Canada, a lot of people have accents and his is easy to understand. Actually cares, repeats things many times with great examples to make it easy to understand. I love this guy and cant wait to take another class with him for my chem major degree.
Krish is great, I love his animal of the day segment
Assignments and worksheets and examples in lectures are all over the place. I learned more from teaching myself in the textbook and tutorials than coming to any lectures.
Builds a personal connection with his students knows his students
love this man a real gem
BEST PROFESSOR AT UTM. Definitely, recommend taking his class. He makes chemistry enjoyable and easy to understand. Profs, take notes from this guy.
Truly makes every effort to help students out. Despite the course being online, he ensured plenty of resources for everyone(live lectures, pre-lectures, practice assignments and sets.) Very accommodating for exams and provided as much communication as possible on the details of every assignment. Tip-The recommended readings really help clear stuff
Love this professor! He is such a nice guy, he goes out of his way to ensure all his students are successful. His teaching is amazing. one of the best chemistry proffs at UTM. He is a very hardworking and humble gentleman.
I'm not sure why he won't include the periodic table in evaluations. I feel like I'm just memorizing a bunch of elements which shouldnt be the point of chem, understanding should be more important.
didn't understand much during lectures. blurry slides, hard problems
He does explain relevant content in his lectures however you can't understand him most of the time. He also lacks any consideration for missing tests or assignments even if it isn't your fault. His tests are very hard as well, the class average for both midterms was around 40%-50%
Bad Professor - stops responding to emails!
Not accessible!
BECAUSE THE MIDTERMS KILLED MY FAMILY OKAY? funny, would take again (maybe audit though)
Can be tough on you if you miss lecture or don't participate, but it's honestly because he cares about students. Really passionate about the course and chemistry as a whole, and he's still nice to talk to in class, during office hours, or just around campus.
Great guy. Is occasionally really funny. He will probably single you out for a question in lecture and unintentionally make you feel embarrassed while doing it, but this is honestly a good thing, as it increases involvement (I really did not like this at first, but I'm glad in retrospect). Terrible online organization. Very engaging lectures.
He is a very caring professor and wants you to do good but most people cannot understand his lectures and posts wrong solutions to practice problems.
this guy has the thickest accent known to man so good luck understanding him and even if u do understand him he barely ever teaches. gfb u try answering a question he WILL shame u cz he needs the power trip it gives him
This prof is genuinely the worst prof i've ever had for chemistry. Not only can you not understand what is saying half the time, he makes ME question whether I actually know english as a native english speaker or not. Not only does he post the wrong answers (when he actually POSTS them) but purposefully puts the wrong solutions in lecture slides.
avoid at all costs. not only does he have the thickest accent known to man, but he will also shame you for not understanding what he is saying. get ready to be constantly degraded
DO NOT GET THIS PROF
This professor is honestly infuriating. His idea of teaching is reading the presentation slides and then giving us problems to solve. Theres no explanation or thoughts behind the concepts. Self learn, midterms are nothing like practices, surprise questions. I apologize if you ever have this prof, it's gonna be a rough ride.
Hard to follow but material isn't hard and it's all just a review of high school chemistry. Be sure to save/bring you old chem notes because this man is too confusing to follow in class most of the time. If you had a great chem 12 teacher, you will be perfectly fine
genuinely awful. i went to almost all his lectures and came out even more confused. his idea of "teaching" was underlining and circling random words or using irrelevant analogies. his tests would be fine if he actually taught the material. cannot count the amount of times ive wanted to drop his class.
He's alright, his lectures are engaging and easy to understand/follow, people hate on him a lot for his accent but imo thats not too much of a problem for me, deal with it. His practice exams are reasonable but he can be vary vague with his advice sometimes. I wish he had more guidelines and more focused study review guides for the midterms/final.
Hes alright, very unclear about his advice regarding exams especially for key topics- important topics are 'every topic'. Lecture heavy course, slides dont make sense unless you hear him explain it, a lot of practice is needed, but it's not too bad. His practice qs are OFTEN incorrect, which is insane, and he only mentions them when pointed out.
Disorganized lectures, slides reposted multiple times, often with errors. Professor mumbles, making it hard to follow, even the captions on the recordings misinterpret him. Solutions are frequently wrong, leaving students more confused. Spends more time on irrelevant questions than actual test content. You have to teach yourself 🫤
Definitely would not recommend if it is not required, if you have this prof.... drop and find a new prof. Attending lectures honestly doesn't matter when you can't hear or understand ANYTHING. honestly the TA's were more help than prof ever will be, sometimes he wouldn't even be at office hours. if this is required and you have him start praying.
If you're taking CHM110 with him, get ready to get flamed and cooked. Things he says is important in lectures are irrelevant and is not on tests. He also speaks very unclearly, his emails are disrespectful and will not answer any of the questions. It's better to just read the textbook on your own and don't come to lectures. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.
Honestly it's a hit or miss with how u feel about him. I used to hate him, but he def grew on me. His accent was a little harder to understand but he really tries getting people to engage, and you can tell he rlly cares. He's quite strict tho, reminds me of my brown dad. He got us timbits on the last day too lol.
He's actually very sweet, and you can tell he cares a lot about his students. He may come off as harsh at times, but his intentions are genuinely pure. The course is very lecture-based, but he makes it engaging and clearly puts in a lot of effort. You can tell he really wants his students to succeed. He's so desi dad coded.
every day i went to this class i prayed i would be taken out by some sort of natural disaster. his slides are weird and extremely unclear. he doesn't answer questions straight up and leaves you more confused than when you start. his exams follow no logical order and are filled with mistakes
Prof Krish is actually a really caring and helpful professor, who wants all of the students to succeed. You can really tell that he wants us to do good and he holds many office hours .But his lectures are often unclear and even when you go to him, the topics are not explained the best.
Do not listen to 90% of the ratings here. Lots of the students complaining didnt go to a single lecture, procrastinated until the night before, did not go to office hrs, etc. Krish is passionate and wants everyone to succeed; practice r reflective of exams. The student-made gcs had some of the stupidest questions though! Krish was NOT the problem!!
Most of the time, idek what lecture we are on cause there is 10 copies of the slide, all with different content, yet named the same things on Quercus. I spent a ton of time in utter confusion. It doesn't help that (in my experience) chemistry is tough. Steps are often skipped in examples and there is a lack of explanation. Great person, bad prof.
My main issue was understanding some of his lectures and his online modules being a mess. always come into lecture with some context. his exams were fair, dont just memorize the questions, you need to understand why. always do the practice quizzes/exams, these are very generous resources. dont procrastinate and go to krish's or TA office hours
When I cross the street, I don't look both ways. The pedestrian right-of-way is less important than finding out if you passed his tests.
Good prof, midterm questions were honestly just questions he went over in lecture. If you actually studied, you should be good. He actually cares about his students and wants well for them. However, his accent is tricky to understand at times.
Hey so I'm gunna be honest his accent is thick, he barely knows the material he's teaching, he makes a ton of mistakes, HE SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO TEACH 110. The course isn't hard, midterms were easy, final was a past final of his mixed with a few standard questions. You need to teach yourself if you wanna do good.
Krish is no the best prof. Does not know how to teach what so ever at all. I found no point in going to the classes as it is very hard to understand him. I had to teach myself everything and I already was not too good at chem so it as not the best thing. please avoid him if you can if not make sure you try your best.
Krish is really great guy personally and really wants to see his students succeed. His midterms and exam were fair. The only thing I have to say about him is that his lectures are kind of hard to follow and he's not really clear on some hard concepts (but they're pretty easy to self teach). Do good on the labs because those will save your grade!
I promise I only got an A+ in this class because of my high school chemistry teachers. Literally taught me nothing, I reviewed for tests using my high school slides and practice problems. Only good thing is his practice midterms are very similar to the real thing. Don't bother showing up to lectures, complete waste of time.
Overall the course material is not hard so it's easy to self-teach. Both midterms and the final were also fair, similar to practice given, and if you did well on lab you could boost your grade if you did bad on one. Prof was a bit hard to understand at times, but I found pre-reading class content helped a lot.
Certainly not the worst professor ever, not the best either though. Bar the accent i think the lectures will relatively solid, he went over question types which helped a lot in the long run, but definitely take the initiative to review stuff on your own or you pay for it. With all the labs and stuff as well you'll have plenty chances to do well.
Krish really cares about his students and their success. He's funny and tries his best to help you. The midterms are similar to the practice posted, the exam was less similar but still bore some resemblance. However, his lectures confused me more than they helped me personally. I taught myself everything. Labs make sense if your TA is good.
hard to listen to (heavy accent), kind of rude, lectures are anxiety inducing
Krish is a good guy. Chemistry is challenging, but he truly tried his best and really does care for his students. The only issue is I found myself teaching myself most of the content. Sometimes he was helpful but other times he wasn't. It is a bit hard to understand him at times, but overall, you can tell he is a hardworking man qualified in chem!
