This professor is not understandable at all. He based his teaching on his notes, and does not know how to explain anything without looking at his notes. He doesn't show knowledge about this class at all and when you ask him a question, he just confuses you even more and does not explain it at all. He is the worst professors in the CIS major.

He is a hard teacher, english is terrible you cnt understand him, he tells you evryday to withdraw from the class even if you get one bad garde on ur test. he gives quizes every other day, homework is everyday, you can only be absent five hours of his class, latenesses gets taken away from the five hour limit as well.

I took him my first semester at Jjay and ...worst idea ever. The class started with about 30 students, and by the time he gave the third test there were only 11 students left in the class. I used to be in advanced math in H.S and got 90's. Left his class with a D. Pleeeeeease dont waste your time, just please.

Professor Kugan is the worst processor to take. He will not stop his lesson to help you if you don't understand and half the homework that he give you will be stuck trying to figure it out on your own the only way that you can pass in his class is if you get a tutor Majority of the time the tutor don't understand what he's teaching.

As a straight-A math student majoring in Applied Mathematics, it is depressing that he is a professor. He is bored by the very class he is teaching, he belittles his students, and he teaches primarily from Work Sheets and not the text book while skipping crucial subjects. This is the only class I have taken where the professor failed to teach.

I Sat in the first row in front of him, passed with an A and was Falling asleep in his class from studying all night before. He doesnt teach, or take the initiative to print out worksheets, does not let you use a device to view the documents and he constantly smells bad. He has caught me falling asleep and didnt care. Took him during the pandemic. Needed this class for my major. He is very rude and disrespectful. You ask him a question and he starts yelling. Literally every lecture is him reading word for word from the textbook he made.. He gives 2 very long assignments every week. A project is also due every week. Really bad overall. The exhibit of his being is in the most horrible and disrespectful manner. Relies on past years recorded zoom classes as well as worksheets. Not the best teacher if you need someone to explain stuff to you since he barely explains throughly and merely tells you that you should know stuff for the exam but wont bother to explain.

John Jay has very low standards by hiring someone like Kugan. He thinks he cares about the subject by giving very difficult work and exams but instead the very much flawe book he supposedly wrote himself tells us he does not know a lot about C++. This professor crushes your dreams and spirits of being in the tech field, his teaching is not meant for introduction level. He demotivates you and asks you to drop the class and is really a harsh grader. If you can avoid his classes at all costs.

He is rude for no reason, he makes the class uncomfortable with comments like "you should drop the class if you don't understand" and "I can't teach general math, you suppose to know this" and the book was costly. Also, he explains too fast and treats the students like they are in middle school. (No phone, No eating, No being late)

I was homeless and told this professor what I was going through. I expected some leniency but this guy told me I should not be doing school. I asked for some extra time on HW submission, which according to academic standard is ok, due to the circumstances, but he was verbally belligerent with the situation. But thanks to my other profes.I graduated

He required us to purchase HIS textbook, where we can only buy from HIS amazon and no where else. He says if we do not do well the first exam, we might as well drop out. My teacher is the worst. He doesn't seem to have a good grasp of what he is teaching, and he's been blackmailing me throughout the semester, threatening to fail me. Teachers like him crush the hopes of their students.

Be ready to have something (or many things) due every class. We had to buy the book HE wrote and if you did bad on the first test or if you have any questions, be prepared to be told to drop the class. He makes everything himself like homework, projects, and tests so if you do anything a little different, be prepared to be accused of cheating.

Take this professor if you can teach yourself Pre-Calc. I took this as a summer course and He often made mistakes during his lectures, making them hard to follow as he changes entire problems to suit his mistakes. He also relies heavy on homework, which isn't a bad thing, just expect large homework assignments due the next day, before class.

This is specifically for freshmen: DO NOT TAKE HIM. I am a sophomore now, and I've received my MAT 108 credit elsewhere. This man is awful. He tells first-gen students to drop out of college and insults their intellect. Not a good look for CUNY, especially since the majority of their students are first-generation, and underrepresented students.

For an intro level course, this professor makes life difficult. He wrote everyone's grades on the board for the first exam and only 9 students passed to which he stated that he expects only 9 students to return to his class. This class is a joke. Don't be late or absent at all. Give this guy money to buy his required textbook with a lot of errors. He's not a good teacher, my main issue is that when he is explaining a topic and needs algebra he just assumes you know it and doesn't review it to build upon the algebra you would've learned. Took him for summer. A LOT of hw, like 4 to 6 hours a day spent on hw, no exageration. No extra credit. Treats this like a 400 level class. Most of my class failed/dropped out. Gave us a lecture the day before our final exam and tested us on that info on the final. Condescending. Dont take him unless you have to. He is really funny though.

Don't give time to let class understand the topic, make sure you're learning outside of class and stay on time on work you well get criticize if you don't. Even if you have a doctor's appointment, puts you absent even though you tell him ahead of time.

Im taking this course right now due to my major in computer science. He's wrong at times when doing exercises, he isn't very understanding, i can in recently only two minutes after the time class starts and he didn't even care because attendance is already done. Do not take his class. He expects you to remember every formula ,when it comes to the exam he is do not give you the formula to refer to. Avoid him at all cost.

I studied hard, but the course was very difficult, and the professor was unsupportive. The expensive online system and book didn't help. I've always been a good student with a 3.7 GPA, but after getting a D-, my GPA dropped to 3.2. Don't take this class with this professor unless you're a math genius!

Currently taking 141-- and let me tell you, it's extremely difficult. As someone who took pre calculus in high school, I found it enjoyable. Now, you genuinely can't understand one topic because he prefers a "listen to me instead of trying" moto. You're better off learning online. I wish I checked his reviews sooner...

I purposefully entered the carts with the most homeless people praying I got mauled. This class is AWFUL. I took pre-calc in HS and entered this class knowing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING because he overcomplicates it and is very disrespectful. He teaches using a website only and to access the hw you have to pay over $118..

He is very difficult so strict in attendance if you are late one min. thats a late and if you collected 4 lates you are failing the class , he can start a new topic in the last 5 min. of the class , never teach anything that relate to algebra so if the answer of a problem is 3 steps 2 of them based on algebra he will not go over them he will skip .

He's just a sickening person and I wish nothing but heartache and suffering on him.

The tests are all long response and you can't use a graphing calculator. Essentially, you are DOOMED!

This professor is the worst. When it comes to teaching, he is utterly inept and frequently marks pupils for being late by as little as one minute. Exams account for 80% of your final grade, so if you've never been an excellent test taker, wait till you get a different instructor. It just isn't worth it.
