He was unclear when teaching.touch right out of the textbook. Did many different projects and assignments. Had really hard tests. Can't understand when speaking to class.

THIS IS THE MOST INCOMPETENT TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD. HE CAN NOT SPEAK ENGLISH OR WRITE CLEARLY ON THE BLACKBOARD. WHEN HE GIVES TEST HE GIVES FIVE LONG ANSWER PROBKEMS WITH NO PARTIAL CREDIT. HE IS UNHELPFUL AND CURT. THIS IS THE WORST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD.

Tian Ren is not a nice person. He is on a power trip. He is not a good teacher, and csn not speak clearly. He can not write clearly. Also his tests are extremly difficult and he gives no partial credit. It seems like Giving his students bad grades makes him feels powerful. A bad teacher and a bad person. Do not take any classes with this man.

he is very critical to the point where it can be taken as mean. All he does is talk about himself. Even though he doesn't directly call you stupid very often he implies it. I think he should really retire because I don not think he has patience anymore for teaching. Only 1/5 people passed

I ask myself: How can anyone hire a person who dosen't know how to speak nore write proper english? Don't they realize that the only people they hurt are the students. Why make it so difficult on us? This guy is by far the worst teacher I have ever had.He cannot speak English clearly and his hand writing looks like chicken scratches.He does not give partial credit and makes the test very hard for you to pass.He just totally sucks.

he is a bad professor. i made the mistake of taking him for ma 250, i didnt understand anything , he wanted us to type the homework so he can collect it.also write an essay , now who writes essays in MATH. I dropped his class or would of got an F.

Horrible professor. He doesn't help the kids who really need help and his tests are really hard. He can't speak proper English. I failed his class with a WU. There goes $800. If you do get him, make sure you get tutoring which is what I SHOULD have done but didn't. Worst professor I've ever had in my life.

He is the worst professor ever. The way he explains is very confusing he realy sucks. He don't really care if you understand or not, he just keeps going with the class. Believe me you don't want to take this professor, you are better off along.

Worst accent ever. Never knew what he was talking about at all. If you solve a problem in your way, hes not going to mark it correct. Drop his class.

Almost impossible to understand what he is saying because of his thick accent. He does not formulate questions clearly. Class lectures right from the text, easier to take notes from there than from him. Tests are all open book, so it was easy to get a good grade, as long as the questions were written properly; he often left out necessary details.

LISTEN TO ME IF YOU DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!! Worst experience ever this man just cannot teach and he expects you to do good.If you have a good gpa and want to get good grades he is not the professor for you.WARNING!!

Well first i think this guy is kinda easy (looks can be deceiving) this guy can't speak english, i'm comparing to a guy who doesn't know how to take pictures because he can't teach well, he assumes you know the stuff already so he keeps moving on this is the first time i failed a Math class ever in whole life... he's not helpful and he won't curve

Don't take him for MA128. His exams are nothing like the review sheets. He gives the hardest questions on the exams and there's some of them that i never seen or learned before. It's a waste of time to go to his class other than for the quizzes and exams because he teaches you the hardest way to solve a simple problem. Tutoring helped me pass.

don't take his class, his accent is bad. Moreover i'm not really good in English also. So you can imagine how confusing I was. with this teacher I lose my time and I had to change the teacher for another one because I would failed his class.

This is the worse class I've ever taken in my life. Such easy explanations he makes real hard. He thinks we already know every terms of math and he is just reviewing them. I got a decent grade because my basic was good. I wonder any student who wants to learn math will never get anything.

He's very difficult to understand and the tutoring center doesn't help. His review sheets have nothing to do with the test at all. Take the class with another professor that will be more helpful.

It doesn't matter if your good in math or not he does not teach clearly he is in a rush and all over the place. He makes it hard to understand math period! And he only teaches his way which makes it harder to understand avoid this professor

Don't ever choose this professor, you have to read and learn by your own, don't review the review question he gave you, because every test's questions are different from review questions, so if you in his class please please please learn more, try hard, suffer.

Please, please, please do not take this professor. He is extremely hard to understand, his lectures are confusing, and he is very disorganized. I too tried my best in this class but he unfairly gave me an F. Now my graduation date is being pushed back and I risk losing my financial aid all because of this class. I would rate him a zero if I could.

This professor is awful. The notes that he provides are difficult to understand. He further complicates the lesson. When it comes to reviewing for the test you pretty much review on your own not as a class. He sits down tapping away on his tablet as we review for our exam ourselves. He only comes to you if you ask him a question first.

Heavy accent combined with unclear explanations. Doesn't address doubts in a clear concise way.

Would *NEVER* take him again. He doesn't explain topics well, goes over the same example 100 times in 100 different ways, which confuses people. When someone asked him to slow down because he was going too fast, his response- well, duh. I'm the professor I'm supposed to be ahead of students. (?!) Very rude, doesn't respect & incomprehensible. 0/10!

I have never seen a bad professor like him. He has no idea what he's saying! He feels like he's giving his money when he grade! very tough grader! I wish i could give him - (-infinity) rate!

Not a good professor he marks you wrong for right answer he cares more about "mathematical notation" rather the answer you got. On top of that his exam questions are way harder than the homework questions. So if you study by doing homework, don't bother the questions on the homework are not very similar to the ones that are given on the exam.

I would highly advise any student that isn't slightly proficient in Calculus before hand to avoid taking Prof Ren. He moves extremely fast as well as a strong accent which only adds to the struggle. Also he is Deputy Chair of the math department so clearly failing the majority of class doesn't really faze him. If possible take Kenneth Schmidt.

There aren't enough words to explain how bad he is. He is a TERRIBLE processor and person. He is extremely rude and disrespectful.

The worst professor Ive ever had in my life. Ive never written a review for anything but I just had to share my disgust about this professor. He can not teach to save his life, you have to teach yourself everything on your own. He deserves to be fired. I wish I could rate him less than 1.

I took Calculus with him and failed the following semester I took at Baruch College which is much harder and got a B+. Use you judgement but I personally would avoid this dude at all costs.

I am not given enough characters to elaborate correctly what i want to say but basically do not take this professor. I passed because i worked really hard and taught myself entirely all the material for the course. Do ALL the homework and show you care and you can pass. If you get the chance, pick anyone else. Nice guy but cant teach.

Terrible teacher honestly one of the worst professors I've ever had. He is hard to understand and doesn't even speak good english. He probably know how to do the math himself but doesn't teach it well to students so they can grasp the concept. I don't even know how he is a professor!

His accent is horrible, the way he teaches is unclear at all. Lectures are extremely difficult to understand. Exams are nothing like lectures or homework, and are EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. His class is not even challenging or hard, it's almost impossible and senseless and I am not the type of student who exaggerates, I am one of those who works hard.

There would be a great term to describe the teaching and attitude Prof. Tian Ren, wasted or spoiled food and other refuse, as from a kitchen or household.

I took this professor twice now. He is still the same. Heavy accent. Heavy material. He basically teaches to himself and not to the students. Unfortunelty, I recommend not to take him.

The professor does not make sense and he wrote the textbook. Leaves too many assignments every week. If you do bad on one test there is no way your grade will go up. Please do not take this class save you'r self the headache. Worst professor I have ever had.

If you arent amazing in math DO NOT TAKE HIM!! You will be teaching yourself ALL the material. Tests & projects are weighted so heavy that even if you do amazing on homework & quizzes you will still struggle severely. 4 quizzes, a lab & writing assignments will be due every single week. Very very hard.

Please do not take this class. I was good at math but this class takes it to another level. He has a heavy accent and does not truly explain the work. When you ask him to explain it, he shows you the answer and expects you to understand. The grading system is awful. Went to tutoring and they had no idea how to help me. I wish there was enough space to write about this professor. Tian Ren is THE WORST professor I have ever met in my life. He is incompetent, doesn't care about his students and worst of all he doesn't teach a thing. Please don't ever take this horrible professor, he literally will fail you and smile about it too. THE WORST PERSON EVER!

Do not take this class, I am having such a hard time going through his class. He does not explain properly, he kind talks to himself acting like you already know everything. He is a kind person but his method of teaching is way to complicated unless you already know all the topics.

He seems like he's a pretty good guy, but he gives a lot of home work and does not have the best teaching style. He made his textbook and does not do a good review for exams. I would not take his class again.

He gives wayy to much pop quizzes, can't understand half the things he says because he doesn't explain material well and his accent is a bit thick. Only take this prof if you like torture.

NEVER TAKE THIS GUY!!!!!!!! He is the worst. I dropped his class before and got stuck with him again because our original professor was on sick leave. The lectures are just a page of reading and he gives no videos or examples of questions. It's definitely not fair to students.

So the professor has an extreme heavy accent, i can't understand much of what he's trying to say and his teaching method is horrible. he gives an overall sum of the lesson and doesn't go step by step, his way of teaching is more of a quick reminder rather than learning something totally new.

Had a hard time understanding him because his accent is a bit off, i didn't really communicate with him at all, i hate math with a burning passion i found the class very boring, the labs he assigned was one of the most confusing and hard thing to do he assigned at least 3 labs i had to go to tutor to get help for the labs.

Do not take this professor! He is not helpful and sometimes refused to answer questions and even yelled at us once. He was very rude and lectures were impossible to follow
