I really like her, tests can be hard but she will tell you what to expect. She grades fairly and can be easy going. Sometimes her lectures are boring but taking notes will keep you awake.

Excellent instructor! She clearly defines the concepts taught in her class and you walk away with useful knowledge. She has a great personality, very approachable, and down to earth all in one.

By far one of the best instructors in the SBA program. She teaches concepts which can be applied in real world situations. Her group assignments have a purpose and aren?t a waste of time. She?s not a professor trying to win a popularity contest with her students. You can tell she cares and wants her students to learn.

Parsons is not an easy instructor. Her tests are off of her powerpoint and less than a handful of people get 100%. Even though she is hard, she's very helpful. She never gave us any "surprise" in homework or tests.

She Definately knows her stuff!! She could recite this stuff off of the top of her head, cover to cover. She is a difficult grader as it is open to her interpretation and I find her grading to be rather subjective. Tests are HARD! She is also very organized and structured which makes it easy to follow the plan of the class.

Great teacher, keeps things interesting, in-class work is pertinent to lectures. Have to attend class as it is part of grade, and some unclear expectations on a main paper, but overall good teacher that makes it intersting and makes herself available to answer questions or just to chat.

This class is hard. dont take her if you can. her assignments are long and demanding. each HW is like a research paper. the tests are hard and long.

45% from two tests, 45% on team stuff and 10% on participation. A good portion of both tests is based on essay answers and they're graded rather subjectively. A lot of busy work and I find this class quite hard. Strict deadlines. <48 hrs late = 25% deduction, after 48hrs = no credit.

I love this professor. I can see why the other comments exist, it's not a fly-by class, BUT, it is a top level management class. She makes the topic interesting, the power points are thorough and the book is easy to read. The assignments are really easy, not like a research paper. She never asks for a lot of information, only quality. Take it.

Team processes is what you make of it, for us we made it fun. Our group worked well together and got all our assignments in on time. Plenty of time in class to work on things. Tests are hard, so it's beneficial to study the slides. Practice, edit the paper (look at the previous term's A paper for reference) and show up. She'll help you if you need.

One of the best teachers I have had in the PSU SBA. She is great at what she does. Expectations are clear, and if you put in a reasonable amount of effort, you will get a good grade. I also found her very funny!

Parsons is a great teacher for any class, 445 and 448 are labor intensive however everything you need to know is on the slides and explicitly stated so there really is no reason to be caught off guard. It is a lot of material but, you will be very well prepared for your future classes.

Tien is a great teacher. She's clear about her expectations and she explains the material very well. It's easy to do well on tests if you show up to class and pay attention to the lecture. She was really funny and engaging and actually made class fun to come to.

Tien is not an easy professor. But for me that was the challange. College is supposed to be tough. She makes you think outside the box and put thought and effort into your work.

Tien is a very nice person who genuinely wants you to succeed in her class. She gives extremely hard tests and admits it up front. but does not assign much homework. Use her slides to study the book, not just the slides. Group paper is hard, get in a good group that wants to succeed on the paper. Listen, study and you will do well. Grades hard

Really tough grader but fair. Don't just regurgitate the material in your exam essays, actually apply the concepts. Best teacher I've had at PSU, but I had to work very hard for an A.

Tien is really nice and wants the class to learn the concepts. She will give teams a lot of freedom on how you should do the assignments, she really wants a lot of detail. She does seem to have favorites or so it felt like. The text book is not required, but I would get it since there was a lot of terminology, and she does use the whole class time.

I think Tien is a great instructor & presents powerpoints in a way that engages students rather than just reading it straight off the slides. Having the book helped expand/clarify content on powerpoints. She is organized & lectures are crystal clear. Grading consists of 5 HW assignments, 1 midterm, a final, & attendance/participation. RECOMMENDED!

The group project is just awful! We are basically expected to bond with our class mates over a 10 week period. I did well and felt the tests were easy but this professor expected too much work! 8 HW assignments, 2 midterms, a Final, and a team presentation. I should have picked another elective.

TIen is a great instructor, who want's her students to gain something from her course. This 445 course is TEST HEAVY. If your not a great test taker, which I'm not, then you might consider taking it form somewhere else. Homework assignments were clear. This class is no cake walk. You have to work, which is the case in any upper level course.

I found her to be a great teacher. I knew exactly what she expected on assignments, and her tests cover everything in her slides making it easy to study for. She seemed pretty down to earth, and did a nice job of keeping my attention during a long class.

Tests are tough , she is very helpful , she sat down and went over what she expected from our term paper step by step and gave lots of feedback.

She's great, but tough grader. Tests were tough. Especially her multiple choice questions were tricky. Most students missed it. Also, I didn't miss a class, she still deducted my participation points, even though she knew that a few points would help me a lot with improving my grade. Not all bad, she's very helpful if u ask for help with paper.

Tien is great! English is her first language, her name through me off. Very good at engaging the class. Read before the class meets for pop quizzes and group convo. Office hour visits offer excellent guidance. Overall, one of the best teachers at PSU in the SBA.

I'm currently taking Tien for my 3rd term, and she is the best teacher I have ever had. This is clearly her passion and she cares about the success of her students. Lectures are fun and integrative. She expects you to understand the concepts, and work is necessary. If you're not committed to your career stay away. If you are, she will groom you.

Tien is such an awesome person. She is a professor that truly cares about her students and wants to help you learn the material for practical use. The project was long, but very useful to the class. Video sessions helped tremendously, as did her lecture videos. I've taken many online classes before, and this was definitely the most engaging.

I really liked Tien and am looking forward to more classes with her. HINT: if one of her videos is optional it means a pop quiz over that section. YES, group project but broken down in section and flows with the rest of the class material. Wealth of knowledge, very approachable and applies material to the real world.

Three assignments, midterm, and final, no group work, weekly online quizzes, and lots of reading. If you don't read the book and don't come to class you won't pass the class. Professor James is funny, supportive, and knows the subject matter inside and out. Read the book. Go to class. You will pass.

All the necessary material are in the slides, so don't buy the textbook. Pop quizzes are rather easy, so don't even stress. The two tests, midterm and final are just average in difficulty. The group project though is huge, and requires significant writing and work. She's really friendly and has no accent. She's also to be frank, quite attractive.

There were so many lectures that turned into two way discussions about the topic. It was very helpful to have the back and forth of her knowledge and our questions/confusion. Creative use of classroom time, and very through on the topic.

This is my second class with Tien, and I have to say she provides the closest to real world expectations. You cannot show up late everyday, skip class and turn in 1/2 baked ideas, on the other hand if you are having legitimate issues she will work with you. She is very good at providing current examples.

Tien is great, all the bad reviews are obviously from students who turned in half baked papers and got butt hurt about a C. If you TRY, you will do well. The material is so easy and Tien makes sure students understand. Yes there are quizzes, but she warns you the week before and gives you all your notes. Her tests are hard, but she's amazing.

Tien's class had the perfect amount of homework assignments, enough to engage students but not too much to make us hate the content. She makes analyzing the structure(s) of organizations interesting, something I before thought to be impossible! Highly recommend!!

I took 4 classes this term, this teacher was the top performer of the bunch. This teacher has a genuine love for teaching and helping students. Class was not too easy, but not too intense, it was a good amount of work and leisure. I highly recommend this teacher and class, which is a rarity for me.

She says pop-quizzes is the only way to get students to read, but she's personally not a fan. 1 Group project, 6 pop-quizzes, midterm, final, extra credit. It doesn't seem like a lot of work. Attendance is recorded. She tries to make the lectures interesting. She calls on you randomly but you can say idk and all is well. Very nice and caring.

Bad: Startlingly tough grader. Grades subjectively. DO NOT turn in late assign. Pop quizzes, while effective, are really tough. No prep essay Q's for MT/F, Good: Real world expectations -can't hate on her prof game. Strict grading no coddling. Very engaging and receptive to discussion. A great prof, needs to work on communicating expectations

Most useful course I have taken at PSU. She expects you to prepare for class and really wants you to learn. She cares for all of her students and it is so apparent. She will help you if you need it. Get the textbook because you need it for exams. Take this class- it's amazing!

Tien is a great teacher, ignored these negative comments. If you are in honors class and you want to actually operate at an honors level and have your poor performing classmates held accountable then take Tien's class. These bad reviews are from all the lazy entitled PSU students who want their hands held at every moment.

Tien is one of the most organized professors I have ever had. She is very responsive and is a timely grader. She is a tough grader. The amount of work she assigns in the class is manageable.

Tien is a great teacher. Class was set up well. High expectations but I want my teachers to expect me to learn the required material and work with groups effectively. If you want to take a class that you can sleep through and ride other coat tails this isn't the teacher for you. An actual PSU teacher that challenges their students!

Tien is an awesome professor, organized, & thorough. She expects a lot, but she works really hard to make sure her students understand the concepts and material covered. This was a COIL course, which means we worked with students from a foreign country. Lots of group projects, but enriching experience. Individual assignments, quizzes, & exam.

Honestly one of the BEST professors at PSU! Don't take her class if you don't put in the work. It's hard, but manageable because she is there every step of the way to help you. Super knowledgeable and clear expectations. 4 short papers, biweekly quizzes, and two in-person exams. Highly Recommend!

Tien was a good professor, she's very knowledgeable about what she teaches. Be ready to participate because she calls you out randomly in class, and puts you on the spot. I'm not a student that likes to raise their hand! Besides that, her class is straight forward. She doesn't assign busy work which is nice.

Tien's class is challenging to say the least, but she knows so much about the material and clearly wants her students to learn and succeed. Her 385H class is graded by very few things, so every single assignment counts!! She's super accessible outside of class so don't be afraid to reach out. She's tough on grading but I would take her again!

Tien is a very nice person who cares about her students. This class was pretty interesting and I think the workload was reasonable. The hardest part will be the case analyses, so if you are a weaker writer, definitely get help/tutoring for them because they are a big part of your grade. Turning in strong essays will definitely get you an A.

Weekly quizzes, two exams, three parts of case #1 analysis, and case #2 analysis that needs to be +4500 words. Not very many assignments; however, she is a tough grader with strict criteria and rubrics. The case analysis needs to be very detail-oriented with the class framework. Make sure to come to class with questions and take notes.

She's very willing to help. Very knowledgeable about the course she teaches. Lectures are easy to follow but the course has a lot of content.

Tien consistently went out of her way to provide thoughtful and in-depth feedback on every assignment. She cares so much about her students. On the 2nd of class, she already knew all of our names. She is organized and gives interesting lectures. You'll feel much more confident to tackle the challenges in the world of business after this class.

Tien is one of the best professors at PSU. Her lectures cover all the material on the midterm and final. There are very few assignments: case studies, one done by yourself, and one done with a group. She provides detailed feedback, and this class prepares you to look at businesses' values, ethics, and social aspects.

I love that she cuts out a lot of the busy work. Start early on the projects and ask her for feedback. Projects seem more daunting than they really are. Just make sure you pick a topic with plenty of sources you can use.

Tien's class is challenging but worth it. She's super knowledgeable and accessible. The case analyses are tough, so get help. Unstuck Study AI was a lifesaver for prep.

One of the best business professors I've had at PSU. Expectations are clear, all exam content is in her slideshows. Gives helpful feedback and is easy to reach if you have questions. People saying the grading was harsh must not have paid attention to the lectures, she walks you through it! Attending lectures will make a difference and it's graded.

1-2 page written assignments or a discussion post weekly. Attendance is 15% of grade, and midterm and final are equal weight. Gave clear directions and the lectures explained major points for essays. The case study at the end was 4000 words, but its pretty much all you have to do after the midterm. 5pm due dates kinda sucked
